RFERENCE MULTIPLE REPORTS FORWARDED TO YOUR OFFICE SURROUNDING RAM'S AIR-RIDE SUSPENSION SYSTEMS'. THESE MAJOR CONCERNS WERE FIRST REPORTED IN EARLY 2017 AFTER RETURNING TO ALASKA. AN OFFICIAL LETTER WAS SENT TO THE FCA GROUP-ITALY, FCA CEO, & THEIR BOARD OF DIRECTORS SURROUNDING THESE LIFE THREATENING INCIDENTS. WHILE COMMUTING ON AN ARCTIC ALASKAN DAY "-40 DEGREES+" MY RAM INSTANTLY DROPPED WHILE IN MOTION, ALL SAFETY EQUIPMENT BECAME UNRESPONSIVE LEAVING ME TO SKID IN TRAFFIC TO A STOP. THANK GOD NO ONE WAS HURT DURING THIS EXPERIENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS IMMEDIATELY TAKEN TO GENE'S CHRYSLER, AFTER SITTING FOR DAYS (BEING TOLD THERE IS NO FIX FOR THIS), FCA WAS OFFICIALLY NOTIFIED. GENE'S CHRYSLER SERVICING AGENTS STATED THAT THESE ISSUES WHERE REPORTED TO FCA BUT THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT. I ASKED WHY WE WERE NOT INFORMED BY ALL THE DEALERSHIP SERVICING AGENTS FROM COLORADO TO WASHINGTON TO ALASKA WHEN OUR RAM WAS TAKEN IN FOR THE MANY RECALLS? AFTER DAYS OF SITTING, THE DEALERSHIP SERVICING AGENTS STATED THAT A TECHNICIAN TEAM HAD VISITED ALASKA A FEW MONTHS AGO AND THEY WANTED TO TRY SOMETHING. A LIST OF PARTS WHERE EXCHANGED, FUSES REPLACED, AND CODES RESET. AFTER A FEW TEST DRIVES THEY STATED THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE GOOD FOR AWHILE BUT THEY WERE NOT SURE IF THIS WOULD PERMANENTLY FIX THESE ISSUES. ASKING IF THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY SAFE (VEHICLE TRANSPORTS PERSONNEL FOR SCHOOL & MINISTRY) TO OPERATE, WE WERE TOLD THEY WERE NOT 100% SURE BUT IF THE ISSUE RETURNED, BRING IT BACK TO THEM IMMEDIATELY. TIME AND TIME AGAIN, THE DEALERSHIP SERVICING TEAM STATED THAT FCA WAS NOT TOO CONCERNED BECAUSE ALASKA IS ONLY A SMALL POPULATION OF THEIR CONSUMER BASE. WE CONTACTED FCA AGAIN TO REMIND THEM WINTERS' ARCTIC WEATHER WOULD RETURN SOON, THAT WE NEEDED DIRE ASSISTANCE FOR SAFETY REASONS. JAN-FEB 2018, WE'D RELIVE THIS EXPERIENCE AGAIN! *JS

THE TRUCK WILL ROLL AWAY AFTER PLACING GEAR IN PARK. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON MANY SEPARATE OCCASIONS.
THE VEHICLE DEFAULTS TO THE ENTRY/EXIT MODE IN THE AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM IN COLD WEATHER AND IS UNDRIVABLE. DODGE IS AWAY OF THE ISSUE AND TO FIX THE PROBLEM YOU HAVE TO PURCHASE A NEW AIR SUSPENSION CONTROL MODULE FOR $1100. IF THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE THAT IS A FACTORY DEFECT WHY ISN'T THIS A RECALL?
The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving 50 MPH, the vehicle went into LIMP Mode and decelerated to 40 MPH. The contact was able to veer to the side of the road. The message “Service Electronic Throttle Body” was displayed. The contact continued to drive; however, the failure reoccurred several times while driving. The vehicle was taken to several independent mechanics who cleared the diagnostic codes; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where the diagnostic codes were cleared; however, the failure reoccurred while driving. The vehicle was taken to a second dealer Davis Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (464037 E State Rd 200, Yulee, FL 32097) where an unknown repair was completed; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to a third dealer Beck Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM (256 Hwy 17 North, Palatka, FL 32177) where it was diagnosed that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V475000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). Additionally, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel); however, the parts to do the recall repair were not yet available. The contact stated that the vehicle was not drivable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER STEERING MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE DRIVING, COMPLETELY UNABLE TO STEER THE TRUCK. RED EPS LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE DASHBOARD. UNABLE TO RESET BY RESTARTING TRUCK, OR DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY. COST OVER $2500 TO HAVE ENTIRE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING RACK REPLACED. CONCERN HAPPENED WHILE SITTING STILL, AND WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD.
DRIVER HEADING DOWN HILL USED THE + AND - INDICATORS TO MANUALLY PUT THE TRANSMISSION INTO 3RD GEAR. GOING APPROXIMATELY 60/70 MPH HEARD THE TRANSMISSION SLIP INTO 2ND GEAR AND THE RPM'S BEGAN TO INCREASE. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE THROUGH THE MANUAL BREAKING OF THE DRIVER. THE DRIVER TOOK THE NEXT EXIT PLACING THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL WHEN A TRANSMISSION SENSOR FLASHED. STILL WITH NO GAS THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. THE DRIVER WHO WAS ABLE TO PLACE THE VEHICLE INTO PARK OFF THE EXIT TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND WHEN TURNING BACK ON ENGINE CONTINUED THROTTLE AS IF IN FULL ACCELERATION. VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND TOWED TO VISTA AUTOGROUP IN SILVERTHORNE, CO. VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED FINDING A FAULTY ACCELERATION PEDAL SENSOR.
MY WIFE AND I WERE ON A LONG ROAD TRIP WITH OUR INFANT DURING CHRISTMAS. ALL ASPECTS OF MY TRUCK WERE OPERATIONAL AND NO WARNING SIGNS. MY TRUCK IS AN ECODIESEL. ON THE WAY HOME THE TEMPS WERE BELOW FREEZING AND IT BEGAN TO RAIN. WE TRIED TO TURN THE HEAT ON IN THE TRUCK TO FIND THERE WAS NO HEAT. THE TRUCK WAS RUNNING AT NORMAL OPERATING TEMPERATURE WITH NO SIGNS OF OVERHEATING. WE KEPT DRIVING UNTIL I COULD SAFELY EXIT THE HIGHWAY. WE FUELED UP AND I CHECKED THE TRUCK OVER VISUALLY BUT FOUND NO REASON FOR THE TRUCK TO HAVE NO HEAT AND STILL BE OPERATING UNDER NORMAL TEMPERATURES. WE RETURNED TO DRIVING AND HAD HEAT FOR A BRIEF MOMENT BEFORE IT STOPPED WORKING AGAIN. STILL THE TRUCK WAS OPERATING AT NORMAL TEMPERATURE. WHEN I FINALLY DECIDED TO CHECK THE ANTIFREEZE LEVEL, I LEARNED THAT THE TRUCK WAS VERY LOW AND DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH TO FILL THE HEATER CORE, BUT JUST ENOUGH TO KEEP THE TRUCK FROM OVERHEATING. I ADDED ANTIFREEZE AND CONTINUED TO DRIVE THE TRUCK FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS AND COULD NOT DETERMINE WHERE THE LEAK WAS. FINALLY, AFTER READING SEVERAL OTHERS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE, I DISCOVERED A HIDDEN LEAK IN THE EGR COOLER THAT WAS ESSENTIALLY LEAKING AND BURNING OFF IMMEDIATELY LEAVING NO TRACE BEHIND OF THE LEAK. IT EVENTUALLY GOT BAD ENOUGH THAT IT WOULD LEAVE COOLANT PUDDLES UNDER THE TRUCK. EVEN WITH THE POOL OF COOLANT UNDER THE TRUCK, THERE IS NO VISIBLE EVIDENCE OF THE LEAK EXCEPT FOR MINOR DAMPNESS AROUND ONE PORT OF THE EGR COOLER.
WHEN IT IS COLD AND RAINING, AND THE TRUCK REAXHED 55 MPH, THE TRUCK WILL JERK HARD AND THE ABS LIGHT AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT WILL COME ON AND STAY ON. THE DASH WILL LIGHT UP WITH THE MESSAGE, "ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM SERVICE NEEDED" AND "4WD TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE."
TAKATA RECALL ACTIVE RECALL - DATED DECEMBER 20, 2017 NHTSA RECALL NUMBER 17V-821 MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBER T79 NOTHING HAS HAPPENED AS OF YET EXCEPT THE GREAT CONCERN OF A SAFETY RISK NOT BEING RESOLVED! DEALER HAS NOT RECEIVED OR HEARD ANYTHING FROM THE MANUFACTURER IN REGARD TO A REPAIR FOR THE VEHICLES INVOLVED. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!
TRUCK WHEN PLACED IN PARK HAS ROLLED AWAY FROM ME INTO THE ROADWAY ON MORE THEN5 OCCASIONS. TRUCK WAS PARKED AND THE PARKING BREAK WAS IN-GAUGED T, KEYS WHERE NOT IN THE VEHICLE AND THIS OCCURRED MORE THEN 5 MINUTES AFTER THE TRUCK WAS PARKED.
TAKATA RECALL. I WAS DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH IN A 70MPH ZONE IN THE RAIN. TRUCK HYDROPLANE AND I SPUN ACROSS THE HIGHWAY AND IMPACTED A CEMENT WALL ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. THE SEAT AIRBAG FAILED TO DEPLOY RESULTING IN ME HITTING THE DOOR, CAUSING BRUISING TO MY RIBS AND SHOULDER ON MY LEFT SIDE.
ONE MORNING IN DECEMBER OF 2017, I STARTED MY PARKED TRUCK IN THE DRIVEWAY OF MY HOME AND THE ELECTRIC STEERING STOPPED WORKING PROPERLY AT 38,000 MILES. WHETHER YOU ARE GOING FORWARD OR IN REVERSE, THE STEERING IS VERY HARD TO TURN. YOU MUST SLOW DOWN TO 10 MPH OR LESS TO BE ABLE TO TURN STEERING WHEEL AND MAINTAIN YOUR LANE. OTHERWISE YOUR TURNS WILL BE TO WIDE AND CROSS OVER INTO OPPOSING LANE OF TRAFFIC.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 RAM 1500 CARGO VAN (NA). THE CONTACT STATED THAT UPON UNLATCHING THE DRIVER'S SEAT BELT, THE BUCKLE FRACTURED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO OURISMAN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM OF BOWIE (2406 CRAIN HWY, BOWIE, MD 20716 (855) 822-3228), BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. A CHRYSLER FIELD INSPECTOR INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO DETERMINE A CAUSE FOR THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING A RESPONSE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 46,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED DIFFICULTLY SHIFTING INTO THE CORRECT GEAR. THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FUTURE FORD (4625 MADISON AVE, SACRAMENTO, CA) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS A SOFTWARE FAILURE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V821000 (POWER TRAIN); HOWEVER, THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. MIKE RIEHL'S ROSEVILLE CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (25800 GRATIOT AVE, ROSEVILLE, MI) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 4,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
RADIO AND SCREEN GOES BLANK AND STAYS BLANK FOR A PERIOD OFF TIME (INTERMITTENTLY) WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE. IT EFFECTS THE CLIMATE CONTROL IE: (DEFROSTER AND HEATER CAN'T BE TURNED ON), REAR CAMERA, OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE, DIRECTION, PHONE, RADIO AND THE SEAT WARMERS DON'T WORK. THIS HAPPENS WHEN STATIONARY AND IN MOTION.
MY RAM 1500 AIR SUSPENSION HAS FAILED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, LEAVING THE FRONT END OF THE TRUCK SAGGING DOWN ON THE RUBBER BUMP STOPS. THIS CONDITION LEAVES ME WITH NO SUSPENSION IN THE FRONT, OFTEN WHEN AWAY FROM HOME. THIS CONDITION HAS LEFT ME ON THE HIGHWAY WITH ADVERSE HANDLING CHARACTERISTICS, SUCH AS SHUDDERING OF THE FRONT END. I HAVE HAD THIS IN THE SHOP AT THE DEALER ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, THE FIRST TIME FOR OVER A MONTH. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT MANAGER ACKNOWLEDGES A PROBLEM, BUT TOLD ME THERE IS "NO FIX" UNTIL RAM COMES UP WITH ONE. THIS CONDITION ONLY HAPPENS IN BELOW FREEZING TEMPERATURES AND GOES AWAY WHEN TEMPERATURES RISE. THERE ARE MANY OTHER OWNERS REPORTING THE SAME PROBLEM, WITH THE SAME RESPONSES FROM THEIR DEALERS. THIS PROBLEM HAS CREATED A VERY UNSAFE CONDITION FOR ME, PERSONALLY, AND OTHERS HAVE REPORTED THIS HAPPENING WHILE UNDERWAY, WITH ONE WHOLE SIDE OF THEIR VEHICLE DROPPING WHILE UNDERWAY. I'M HOPING THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN TO ME. WHEN WILL FCA BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE? SOON, I HOPE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD REGISTER EMPTY, EVEN WITH A FULL TANK OF FUEL. IN ADDITION, THE CHECK ENGINE AND FUEL SENSOR FAILURE INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN UNKNOWN DEALER IN CHANTILLY, VIRGINIA WHERE IT WAS RECOMMENDED THAT THE FUEL PUMP BE REMOVED FOR INSPECTION. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 37,000. *LN *TT
INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS BLINKING ON AND OFF WHILE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION
4 SEPARATE TIMES NOW, LOST MY HEADLIGHTS WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. INFORMATION CENTER SHOWED LOW BEAMS AND HIGH BEAMS OUT, ALL I HAD WAS MARKER LIGHTS AND FOG LIGHTS. AFTER SITTING FOR A FEW MINUTES, THINKING WHAT WAS GOING ON, THE LIGHTS CAME BACK ON. EACH INSTANCE HAPPENED AT NIGHT, WHILE DRIVING, AFTER DARK, AND TWICE ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT.
ON NOVEMBER 24, 2017 THE VEHICLE WAS PLACED IN PARK USING THE MOUNTED KNOB GEAR SHIFTER. THE DRIVER WAS GOING TO REMOVE ITEMS FROM THE BED OF THE TRUCK INTO A BULK TRASH AREA IN THE DRIVER'S HOUSING DEVELOPMENT. THE BULK TRASH AREA IS A 3-WALL CONCRETE DUMPSTER HIDER, WITH NO DUMPSTER INSIDE (AS SHOWN IN PICTURE). THE PASSENGER EXITED THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO THE DRIVER EXITING. AFTER EXITING THE VEHICLE AND WALKING TOWARDS BACK OF THE TRUCK, THE TRUCK BEGAN TO ROLL BACKWARDS, ULTIMATELY HITTING THE CONCRETE BARRIER THAT BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO A STOP. UPON RE-ENTERING THE VEHICLE., THE DRIVER NOTED THAT THE KNOB GEAR SHIFTER WAS IN "REVERSE". THE DRIVER IMMEDIATELY CALLED INSURANCE PROVIDER TO FILE CLAIM, AS WELL AS FCA, THE VEHICLE'S MANUFACTURER. FCA SENT AN INVESTIGATOR WHILE THE TRUCK WAS AT THE BODY SHOP TO ASSESS VEHICLE. OWNER ALSO BROUGHT VEHICLE TO RAM DEALERSHIP SUBSEQUENT TO BODY REPAIRS FOR INSPECTION. RAM SAID BECAUSE INCIDENT COULD NOT BE REPRODUCED, ISSUE DID NOT EXIST. OWNER HAS OWNED VEHICLE SINCE NOVEMBER 2014 AND THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED. AS SUCH, DUPLICATION IS NOT PREDICTABLE. FCA PLACED BLAME ON PARKING BRAKE NOT BEING UTILIZED.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SOUTHLAND DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP LOCATED AT 6161 W PARK AVE, HOUMA, LA 70364, PHONE NUMBER: (985) 465-4394 PRIOR WHERE IT WAS SERVICED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V302000 (AIR BAGS) HOWEVER THE REMEDY FAILED TO REPAIR THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED DUE TO THE DIAGNOSTIC FEES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 35,000.
ON 11/22/17 AT AROUND 5PM DRIVING EAST BOUND ON I-76 IN PENNSYLVANIA OUR 2014 RAM 1500 ECODIESEL ENGINE CAUGHT ON FIRE. AS I TRIED TO STOP I REALIZED I HAD NO BRAKES. WE SLOWED TO A STOP AS WE STARTED UP A HILL, I PUT IT IN PARK AND WE ALL GOT OUT JUST IN TIME. A CERTIFIED CHRYSLER MECHANIC HAD JUST 2 DAYS EARLIER FINISHED INSTALLING A NEW ENGINE. BOTH THE DEALERSHIP & CHRYSLER HAVE DENIED ALL OWNERSHIP AND NO ROOT CAUSE EVALUATION HAS BEEN COMPLETED. I BELIEVE A FUEL LINE FAILED DUE TO FAULTY WORKMANSHIP, BUT WITHOUT A THIRD PARTY INDEPENDENT INVESTIGATION I GUESS WE WILL NEVER KNOW AND SOME OTHER CUSTOMER MAY EXPERIENCE THE SAME THING.
THIS IS THE THIRD EVENT OR INCIDENT SURROUNDING THIS AIR RIDE SUSPENSION SYSTEM: 1. THE FIRST INCIDENT WAS IN JAN 2017 AFTER GETTING UP TO ALASKA. THIS TIME ALMOST CAUSED A MAJOR ACCIDENT. WITHOUT WARNING, THE VEHICLE FELL WHILE DRIVING AND SLID OUT IN TRAFFIC. THE SEATBELT LOCKED IN PLACE AND MALFUNCTIONED. GENE'S CHRYSLER ENDED UP CHANGING OUT SOME OF THE HARDWARE AND PARTS. 2. THE SECOND INCIDENT WAS NOT AS BAD ON NOVEMBER 2017, THIS TIME THE WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. AFTER ALLOWING THE TRUCK TO SIT A FEW DAYS WAITING FOR CHRYSLER TO PROVIDE AN APPOINTMENT, AND CHANGING ALL THE FUSES, THE SUSPENSION RAISED UP AGAIN. 3. TIME NUMBER 3 WAS ON JANUARY 31, 2018. THIS TIME, THE TRUCK WAS TOWED TO GENE'S CHRYSLER ON FEBRUARY 01, 2018. THE VEHICLE FELL TO THE GROUND AGAIN AND WAS NOT MOVING THE SPEED LIMIT BECAUSE OF SLOWER TRAFFIC CONDITIONS. RIGHT NOW, THE TRUCK IS STILL IN THE SHOP BECAUSE MORE PARTS NEED TO BE REPLACED AND THE DEALERSHIP IS WAITING ON THE MANUFACTURERS' RECALL FOR THIS AIR RIDE SUSPENSION SYSTEM. WE ARE VERY CONCERNED ABOUT OUR TEAM OUT THERE IN ALASKA BUT NOW, THIS IS HAPPENING TO VEHICLES ALL OVER THE COUNTRY DURING REAL COLD WEATHER. IT'S LIKE A NATIONAL CRISIS NOW AND NEEDS EVERYONE IN THE TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT TO PLEASE DO SOMETHING BEFORE SOMEONE DIES BECAUSE OF THESE MALFUNCTIONS AND THE DEFECTIVE AIR RIDE SYSTEM. NOW THAT IT HAS BEEN 40 DAYS WITHOUT OUR MINISTRY HAVING THEIR VEHICLE IN ALASKA, WHAT WILL NHTSA DO TO HELP OUR PASTOR AND MINISTRY UP THERE? A LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH AND ACCORDING TO THE USER GUIDE THE LIGHT IS THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT. IN THE DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM IT STATES THAT "YOU MAY EXPERIENCE REDUCED PERFORMANCE, AN ELEVATED/ROUGH IDLE" IT SEEMS THAT RAM ALREADY KNOWS OF THIS PROBLEM WITH THE ELEVATED IDLE THE BOOK JUST DOESNT STATE THAT THE ELEVATED IDLE CAN INCREASE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS BEING DRIVEN OR IN DRIVE

MY TRUCK HAS A ROTARY SWITCH USED TO SWITCH BETWEEN PARK, REVERSE, NEUTRAL AND DRIVE. MY VEHICLE WAS RUNNING AND I WAS IN DRIVE. I STOPPED AND TURNED THE SWITCH THREE PLACES TO THE LEFT. THIS PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK. I LEFT THE ENGINE RUNNING. I EXITED THE VEHICLE AND LEFT THE DRIVER DOOR OPEN. I LEANED OVER TO LOOK AT SOMETHING AND WHEN I TURNED AROUND THE TRUCK WAS ROLLING BACKWARDS. I RAN AFTER THE TRUCK BUT COULD NOT CATCH IT AND IT CRASHED INTO ANOTHER TRUCK THAT I OWN. MY TRUCK CAME TO A STOP AND WHEN I GOT BACK INTO THE VEHICLE IT WAS IN REVERSE. THANKFULLY NO ONE WAS INJURED BUT MY TRUCK SUFFERED MODERATE DAMAGE. THIS ALL OCCURRED ON PRIVATE PROPERTY SO THERE WAS NO POLICE REPORT FILED.

SMELLED BURNING, ANOTHER CAR PULLED ALONG SIDE AND YELLED "YOU ARE ON FIRE" AFTER STOPPING THE TRUCK I WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISH THE FLAMES UNDER THE ENGINE BY APPLYING DRY POWDER FIRE EXTINGISHER INTO THE OPEN HOOD. LATER INVESTIGATION BY A CHRYLSER HIRED INVESTIGATOR INDICATED THE STARTER CABLE SHORT CIRCUITED TO A SHARP BRACKET ATTACHED TO THE FRAME CAUSING THE ELECTRICAL HARNESS TO CATCH FIRE. IN MY OPINION CHRYLSER IS DRAGGING THEIR FEET IN AUTHORIZING A WARRANTY REPAIR
I TOOK MY 2014 DODGE RAM 1500 2WD CREW CAB INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR OIL CHANGE. PREVIOUSLY I HAD COMPLAINED ABOUT A POPPING AND CLICKING NOISE IN THE FRONT END WHEN I TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL. THE NOISE CAME FROM THE FRONT WHEELS. I MENTIONED THIS TODAY AT MY SCHEDULED OIL CHANGE AND THEY CHECKED FOR A PROBLEM ONCE AGAIN. THIS TIME THEY FOUND THAT THE DRIVER SIDE CONTROL ARM BOLT (1 OF 2) WAS ALMOST COMPLETELY OUT. THE NUT THAT IS SUPPOSED TO HOLD IT IN PLACE IS GONE. PICTURE ATTACHED. NOT RELATED BUT JUST AS BAD WAS A PASSENGER SIDE BALL JOINT BOOT THAT WAS CRACKED AND LEAKING, CAUSING ME TO HAVE TO REPLACE THAT BALL JOINT. I BOUGHT THE TRUCK NEW AND HAVE NEVER WRECKED IT OR HAD ANY REASON TO REMOVE THE FRONT SUSPENSION ARMS. IN MY OPINION THIS IS A SEVERE SAFETY DEFECT(S) AND COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A BAD ACCIDENT. MOST OF MY TIME IS SPENT IN THE TRUCK AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AS I HAVE A JOB THAT INVOLVES A LOT OF TIME ON THE ROAD. THE ORIGINAL PROBLEM STARTED BEFORE THE TRUCK HAD 50K MILES. THE PROBLEM WAS IDENTIFIED BY A TECHNICIAN AT THE DEALERSHIP TODAY ON 8/29/17, WHILE THE TRUCK HAS APPROXIMATELY 88K MILES ON THE ODOMETER.
My 2014 Ram's cab is allowing water to enter into the interior. This appears to be a very common problem with this era of Ram. First, I noticed my third brake light would blow at least once a year. If you do not replace it, the information center on the truck displays that the driver brake light is out, which it is not and is a completely different bulb. I realized this after stopping at the parts store, buying a new driver side brake light, only to determine it was the third brake light. After each rain, I notice a strong mildew smell in my truck. I then noticed a large water stain on the headliner above the rear passenger seat. I have replaced the bulb to the third brake light once a year and the housing light assembly and gasket twice. Water is either entering from the third brake light or from the black roof trim that run from the front windshield to the rear windshield. Could this mold and mildew growing in my headliner be causing my family's allergies? This leak is a very common problem as indicated in Ram forums and in YouTube videos. Many solutions have been owners using silicone all over the third brake light and the black trim that runs from windshield to windshield. Ram should recall the third brake light, body trim, and replace all headliners.

WITHING SECONDS, THE TRUCK LOSES POWER, GIVING YOU LITTLE TO NO TIME TO PREPARE AND REACT. IT HAS HAPPENED IN L.A. ON FRWY WITH LOADS OF TRAFFIC, IT'S SO DANGEROUS TRYING TO GET OVER TO THE SIDE WITHOUT BEING KILLED! IT HAS HAPPENED 2 TIIMES WHILE IN TOW MODE PULLING TRAILERS, AGAIN SO DANGEROUS WHEN SUDDENLY YOU HAVE NO POWER. ONCE WHILE PULLING HORSES IN THE TRAILER, ON AN UP-HILL, WITH CARS BEHIND ME AND NO WHERE TO PULL OVER (NO SHOULDER). SO UNSAFE, I WAS BADLY SHAKEN OVER THAT ONE WITH MY HORSES IN TOW. SO THIS HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES TO US, DODGE HAS HAD IN SHOP 4 TIMES AND CANNOT FIX. IT IS TERRIFING TO BE GOING ALONG AND HAVE YOUR POWER CUT IN A MOMENTS TIME, AND BE IN "LIMP MODE". WE CAN NO LONGER TRUST THIS TRUCK. SO DANGEROUS
CRUISE CONTROL FUNCTIONALITIES IS NOT WORKING WITH 100 PERCENT CONSISTENCIES. WHEN THE CRUISE CONTROL IS SET ACTIVE, IT CANNOT BE DEACTIVATED OR CANCEL, THE ONLY WAY TO DISENGAGE THE ACTIVE CRUISE CONTROL IS BY STEPPING ON THE BRAKE TO CANCEL OR DEACTIVATE THE CRUISE CONTROL. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN WHAT IF THE CRUISE CONTROL CAN NOT BE DISENGAGE.

WAS DRIVING MY 2014 RAM TRUCK DOWN THE ON RAMP TO RT 104 WHEN THE REAR TIRE EXPLODED. IT WAS A GOODYEAR WRANGLER P275 / 60R20 WITH APPROX 20K MILES ON THEM.ALWAYS ROTATED ON EACH OIL CHANGE. LUCKY I WAS NOT UP TO SPEED WHEN IT BLEW. I HAVE ENCLOSED A PICTURE WHICH SHOWS THE DAMAGE AROUND THE OUTER SIDE WALL FROM THE EXPLOSION.

STARTING TO BACK OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY, I STOPPED AND THOUGHT I HAD SHIFTED THE ROTARY AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION KNOB TO THE PARK POSITION TO GO INTO THE HOUSE AND RETRIEVE AN ITEM BEFORE CONTINUING. APPARENTLY, I DID NOT GET THE KNOB CORRECTLY IN TEH PARK POSITION, AS I STARTED EXITING THE VEHICLE WITH THE DOOR OPEN, THE TRANSMISSION WAS STILL IN REVERSE AND STARTED ROLLING BACKWARD. I RE-ENTERED THE VEHICLE TO APPLY THE BRAKE, BUT NOT UNTIL THE OPENED TRUCK DOOR HAD COLLIDED WITH MY GARAGE WALL, CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE TRUCK DOOR AND THE GARAGE WALL. I FELT FORTUNATE THAT I WAS NOT PINNED BETWEEN THE DOOR AND THE GARAGE WALL BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO GET BACK IN THE VEHICLE. THE KNOB SHIFT CONTROL IS NOT VERY INTUITIVE AND I BELIEVE CAN LEAD MORE FREQUENTLY TO DRIVER ERROR.
