TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE FAILED TO FUNCTION PROPERLY WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED ON A HILL OR INCLINE. THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY FORCE TO ENGAGE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WITHOUT KNOWING IF THE VEHICLE WOULD ROLL AWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THIS VEHICLE WILL STALL WHEN COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP FROM TIME TO TIME. THERE IS NO PATTERN WHEN IT HAPPENS. WE OWN A SECOND 2014 RAM THAT DOES THE SAME!!!

MY 2014 RAM 1500 PENTASTAR 3.6 OIL LEAK HAS A OIL LEAK FROM THE OIL COOLER THIS IS ALSO A SAFETY HAZARD
ALL OF THE FOLLOWING IN THIS REVIEW HAPPENS AT ALL TIMES. WHEN IN MOTION, STATIONARY, ALL DRIVING CONDITIONS AND ALL TIMES OF DAY AND NIGHT. OVERHEAD CONSOLE ON TRUCK WHERE LED COURTESY MAP/READING LIGHTS HAVE ISSUES. LIGHT FLICKERS AND DIMS WHEN ON. IT MAKES INTERIOR VISIBILITY NEAR IMPOSSIBLE. UPON INSPECTING THE UNIT THE WIRING GOING TO THE LIGHTS AND SUN ROOM ARE CHAFFED AND POSE AS A FIRE HAZARD AND OR EQUIPMENT FAILURE IF SHORTAGE OCCURS. REAR THIRD BRAKE LIGHT SEAL DETERIORATES AND LETS WATER INTO THE CAB. THIS CAN RUST OUT FLOORING AND CAUSES MOLD ISSUES. RUINS LEATHER SEATS. ALSO CAN DETERIORATE SEAT BELTS POSSIBLY AS WELL AS RUST OR CAUSE WEAKNESS IN SEATBELTS FOR REAR PASSENGERS. WILL SEVERELY DAMAGE AND/OR STAIN INTERIOR ROOFING, CARPET, SEAT BELTS AND/OR SEATS. *TR
THE AIR SUSPENSION FREEZES UP WHEN IT GETS BELOW ZERO. I DO A LOT OF ICE FISHING, THE REASON I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK, AND I'VE HAD TO DRIVE WITH VARIOUS CORNERS OF THE VEHICLE HAVING NO SUSPENSION. ONE TIME, IT HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AT 75MPH, THE WHOLE FRONT END DROPPED TO THE FRAME AND I ALMOST CRASHED BECAUSE I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON RIGHT AWAY. IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE I BOUGHT THE TRUCK A YEAR AGO. TO DATE IT'S BEEN IN THE SHOP 5 TIMES AND THE COMPRESSOR FINALLY BURNT OUT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 RAM 1500. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, THE AIR SUSPENSION WARNING INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED. IN ADDITION, THE TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTIONED WHILE IN THE FOURTH WHEEL DRIVE POSITION. THE VEHICLE OVERHEATED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BE REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,819.
AFTER DRIVING MY TRUCK ALL DAY .. I CAME HOME AND AFTER 3 HOURS I WANTED TO GO TO THE GYM BUT MY TRUCK WOULD NOT TURN OVER.. I HAD TO GET A JUMP START BUT IT NEVER CHARGED AND WOULDN'T START ONCE AGAIN... *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2014 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH AND APPROACHING A RED LIGHT, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT REAR ENDED THE PRECEDING VEHICLE TWICE. THE FRONTAL AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND THE SEAT BELT FAILED TO RESTRAIN THE DRIVER. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUFFERED WHIPLASH, SEVERAL BRUISES, AND A HEAD CONCUSSION, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND SENT A THIRD PARTY COMPANY TO EVALUATE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,000.
THIS MODEL VEHICLE CONTINUES TO LUNGE FORWARD/BUMP FROM THE REAR WHEN COMING TO A STOP FROM A 2-1 DOWNSHIFT. CHRYSLER DEALERS REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE ISSUE AND STATE SINCE OTHER SAME MODEL/YEAR MAKES DO IT IT IS CONSIDERED NORMAL.
WAS DRIVING TRUCK IN AN EMPTY LOT AFTER A SNOW STORM WITH LOTS OF ICE. HAD TRACTION CONTROL OFF AND TRUCK FISHTAILED AROUND A CORNER AND ENGINE STALLED. LIGHTS IN INTERIOR WERE ON AND DASH ADVISED TO SHIFT INTO PARK TO START. NO KNOCKING OR STRANGE NOISES PRIOR, NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AFTER OR BEFORE. RPMS WERE BELOW 3000 WHEN ENGINE STALLED. AFTER STALL PUT TRUCK INTO PARK AND STARTED UP RIGHT AWAY. TANK WAS 3/4 FULL. ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE HAD WITH THE TRUCK BUT IT IS VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM THAT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED. *TR
ROTARY SHIFTER I WAS OUTSIDE OF MY TRUCK ON DEC.23 2016 WHEN I PUT MY TRUCK IN PARK AND WENT INSIDE OF GAS STATION FOR A MINUTE. AFTER BEING PARKED FOR A WHILE I SAW MY TRUCK STARTED TO ROLL AWAY ON ITS OWN I RAN OUT OF THE DOOR AND CAUGHT MY TRUCK BEFORE ANY MAJOR DAMAGE HAPPENED. MY TRUCK WAS INITIALLY IN PARK I ALWAYS DOUBLE SINCE I HAVE BEEN HEARING ABOUT THESE PROBLEMS. MY TRUCK SOMEHOW PUT ITSELF IN DRIVE AND TOOK OFF ON ITS OWN THE MANAGER OF PIZZA HUT ALSO WITNESSED THIS. NOW I'M SCARED TO DRIVE MY TRUCK WHICH I STILL OWE 37000 ON. I HAVE HAD MY TRUCK FOR ABOUT A YEAR AND IT HAS NEVER DONE THIS BEFORE AND I'M NOT SURE WHAT TO DO. HOWEVER IT DID LIGHTLY HIT A YELLOW POLE BUT NO REAL DAMAGE TO TRUCK.
I RAN HOME QUICK TO GET SOMETHING OUT OF MY OFFICE, I PARKED THE TRUCK IN THE DRIVE WAY, PUT IT IN PARK AND LEFT THE TRUCK RUNNING. I JUMPED OUT, RAN THROUGH THE GARAGE AND WHEN I GOT TO THE TOP OF THE STAIRS I TURNED AROUND TO SEE THE TRUCK COMING RIGHT AT ME, I JUMPED UP ON THE TOP STAIR AS THE TRUCK CAME UP THE DRIVE WAY AND THROUGH THE GARAGE AND SLAMMED INTO THE CEMENT STAIRS IN THE GARAGE.
WHEN I PUT MY 2014 DODGE RAM PICKUP IN PARK AND GET OUT IT ROLLED BACK. THIS HAS HAPPENED THREE TIMES. TWICE IT ROLLED ABOUT 3 FEET, OTHER TIME ABOUT 6 FEET. DODGE DEALER HERE IN ANCHORAGE ALASKA CLAIMS THEY NO NOTHING OF ISSUE AND DO NOT HAVE A FIX FOR THE PROBLEM.

THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WARNING INDICATORS AND THE INTERIOR LIGHTING ILLUMINATED INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND COMPUTER FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000. UPDATED 02/14/17*LJ *CN
2014 RAM 1500 PICKUP. HAD STOPPED TO REFUEL MY PICKUP TRUCK. WHEN REFUELING COMPLETED, AND AFTER PUTTING ON MY SEATBELT, I STARTED THE ENGINE AND PLACED THE TRANSMISSION SELECTOR FROM PARK INTO DRIVE. AS I BEGAN TO ROLL FORWARD I HAD AN ELECTRONIC CHIME AND NOTICE DISPLAYED ON MY INSTRUMENT PANEL: "VEHICLE NOT IN PARK". HAVING ROLLED ONLY 10 FEET, I STOPPED THE TRUCK, PLACED THE CAR INTO PARK, AND WHEN I DID SO THE DIGITAL SPEEDOMETER GAVE AN INDICATION OF ZERO. I PUT THE GEAR BACK INTO DRIVE AND RECEIVED THE SAME ALERT. MY SPEED WAS NOT MORE THAN 2-3 MPH. I REPEATED THE PROCESS AND WHEN I GOT THE ALERT THE NEXT TIME I DECIDED TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE, AFTER WHICH THE ALERT DISAPPEARED. PERHAPS JUST A COINCIDENCE, BUT MY DIGITAL SATELLITE RADIO MALFUNCTIONED AND CONTINUED TO DO SO BEFORE SELF-CORRECTING 1.5 MILES LATER. THIS WAS THE FIRST AND ONLY OCCURRENCE. I HAVE NOT REPORTED IT TO THE DEALER. I AM ONLY REPORTING IT NOW TO NHTSA BECAUSE OF THE NEWS ARTICLE THAT I JUST READ CITING MY YEAR/MODEL VEHICLE BEING AMONG THOSE THAT HAVE HAD REPORTED ROLL-OFF ISSUES. THE ENGINE OIL COOLER ON THE PENTASTAR 3.6L V-6 ENGINE CRACKED CAUSING OIL TO LEAK ONTO OTHER ENGINE PARTS AND THE GROUND. I NOTICED THE OIL LEAKING AFTER DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 4 MILES. THIS COULD EASILY START A FIRE OR CAUSE AN ENGINE TO SEIZE. *TR
ROLL AWAY AFTER PARKING IN DRIVEWAY. I PARKED ON MY SLIGHT INCLINED DRIVEWAY, PLACED THE TRUCK IN PARK, EXITED THE TRUCK AND WALKED TO THE FRONT WHILE MY WIFE WAS EXITING THE PASSENGER SIDE AND THE TRUCK BEGAN ROLLING BACKWARDS KNOCKING MY WIFE TO THE GROUND. I HAD TO RUN DOWN THE DRIVEWAY, JUMP IN THE TRUCK AND STOP IT. I STARTED IT AND IT WAS STILL IN PARK, AS I PLACED IT WHEN I PARKED IT. I DROVE IT BACK UP THE DRIVEWAY AND PARKED IT AND IT WAS NORMAL AT THAT POINT. WE WERE PUZZLED AND ASSUMED I MUST HAVE NOT PUT IN IN PARK ETC. BUT AFTER HEARING MORE REPORTS OF THIS DECIDED TO REPORT THIS. I AM A EXPERIENCED AND SAFE DRIVER AND ALWAYS PUT MY VEHICLES IN PARK SO I AM NOT BLAMING MYSELF ANYMORE. MY WIFE WAS OK, JUST SHAKEN AS IT WAS SNOWY AND COLD OUT, AND ON THE GROUND. BOTH OF US COULD HAVE BEEN INJURED OR IF A CHILD OR ADULT WAS BEHIND THE TRUCK IT COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE, THIS DOES NEED ADDRESSED. I LOOK FORWARD TO THE FEEDBACK.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE MADE AN ABNORMAL NOISE AND HESITATED WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHILE ACCELERATING AT 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO HESITATE WHILE HIS FOOT WAS ON THE ACCELERATOR, WITHOUT WARNING. DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AFTER ABOUT 30 SECONDS. THE CONTACT HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THREE SEPARATE CHRYSLER DEALERS - TALLAHASSEE DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM FIAT (3987 W TENNESSEE ST, TALLAHASSEE, FL 32304), LAKE CITY CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (4325 W US HWY 90, LAKE CITY, FL 32055), AND AN UNKNOWN CHRYSLER DEALER IN GEORGIA. EACH DEALER WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE OR DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT ALSO TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO WAS ALSO UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V161000 (POWER TRAIN) WHICH HE LINKED TO HIS FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 97,000. *BF CONSUMER STATED CAR HAS BEEN TRADED IN.*JB
I HAD A BIG RAIN STORM ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO THAT BROUGHT AROUND 8 INCHES OF RAIN INTO MY AREA. THERE WAS A FACTORY DEFECT WITH THE THIRD BRAKE LIGHT AND SATELLITE RADIO ANTENNA SEALS THAT ALOUD WATER TO ENTER THE CAB OF THE TRUCK. EVERYTHING IN THE CAB OF THE TRUCK WAS SOAKED. I HAD 6 INCHES ON STANDING WATER IN THE COMPARTMENTS. WHEN I DROVE THE TRUCK AFTER 3 DAYS OF RAINING WATER BEGAN TO POUR OUT FROM THE HEADLINER ONTO THE DASHBOARD. DODGE REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING WITH THE RAM BECAUSE IT WAS 700 MILES OUT OF THE WARRANTY. A WEEK AFTER THE STORM, I STARTED THE RAM TO WARM UP ONE MORNING AND WHEN I WENT TO GET IN THE TRUCK EVERY WARNING LIGHT WAS ON, IT WAS BEEPING, I COULD TO SHIFT IT INTO GEAR NOR COULD I TURN THE TRUCK OFF. ONCE I STEPPED OUT OF THE TRUCK IT LOCKED THE DOORS WITH THE TRUCK STILL RUNNING AND I COULD NOT UNLOCK THE DOORS FOR AN HOUR LATER. USAA HAS TOTAL MY RAM OUT BUT CHRYSLER HAS NOT TAKEN RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS ISSUE. AFTER RESEARCHING ONLINE THE LEAK IS A HUGE PROBLEM DATING BACK TO 2004.
FRONT ROTORS WARPED AT 39,000.FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS CHANGED AT 44,000.
YOU ALREADY HAVE AN OPEN INVESTIGATION OF THIS PROBLEM. PE 16-014. I HAVE HAD TWO INSTANCES OF THE TRUCK ROLLING AWAY AFTER PLACING THE ROTARY SHIFT KNOB INTO PARK. ENGINE WAS RUNNING. FIRST TIME I SHIFTED INTO PARK, RELEASED THE FOOT BRAKE AND IT ROLLED. I MOVED THE SHIFTER TO NEUTRAL THEN BACK TO PARK AND IT ENGAGED NORMALLY. THE SECOND TIME I PLACED THE VEHICLE PARK AND OPENED THE DOOR TO EXIT. IT STARTED ROLLING AWAY BUT I STOPPED IT WITH THE FOOT BRAKE. I LOOKED AT THE ROTARY SHIFT CONTROL AND IT HAD AN INDICATOR LIGHT FOR "PARK". HOWEVER, WHEN I MOVED IT TO NEUTRAL I DID NOT HEAR THE NORMAL CLICK SOUND. PLACED IT BACK IN PARK AND IT WORKED NORMALLY. BOTH INCIDENTS OCCURRED AT HOME (DRIVEWAY) AND THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY STOPPED WITH ENGINE RUNNING WHEN THEY OCCURRED.

THEIRS A LOT OF RECALLS THEY DON'T FIX THEM AND I'M SCARE OF DRIVING THE TRUCK.
MY TRUCK HAS AN EXHAUST LEAK THAT ALLOWS RAW DIESEL FUMES TO BE DRAWN INTO THE VEHICLE'S HVAC SYSTEM. WHEN THE TRUCK IS STATIONARY AND THE ENGINE IS IDLING, DIESEL EXHAUST FUMES CAN BE EASILY DETECTED IN THE CAB OF THE TRUCK. BECAUSE THIS TRUCK IS EQUIPPED WITH SCR, DEF, AND DPF SYSTEMS, YOU SHOULD NEVER BE ABLE TO SMELL RAW DIESEL EXHAUST WHEN THE ENGINE IS RUNNING. HOWEVER, WHEN THE TRUCK IS STATIONARY, YOU CAN SMELL RAW DIESEL EXHAUST IN THE CAB AND WHEN STANDING OUTSIDE THE TRUCK. I BELIEVE THE LEAK IS COMING FROM THE EXHAUST ELBOW, JUST DOWN STREAM FROM THE TURBO ASSEMBLY. THIS IS A KNOWN WEAK POINT IN THE EXHAUST SYSTEM AS MANY RAM ECODIESEL OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME LEAK AND SYMPTOMS.
AFTER GOING TO TWO DEALERSHIPS, I AM UNABLE TO GET MY RECALL R46/NHTSA 15V-541 REPAIRED. TUTTLE CLICK DODGE IN IRVINE CALIFORNIA AND HUNTINGTON BEACH DODGE IN HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA BOTH ADVISE THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PART, THAT CHRYSLER WILL NOT RELEASE THE PART OTHER THAN 2 A MONTH, AND AFTER ORDERING THE PART THROUGH BOTH DEALERS AND BEING TOLD I WILL BE CALLED WHEN IT ARRIVES, IT HAS BEEN MONTHS AND I STILL HAVE NO CALL AND NO REPAIR. *TR

ABOUT A MONTH AGO, EARLY NOVEMBER LATE OCTOBER, I PUT THE SELECTOR IN P AND THE VEHICLE HAD ROLLED TO THE POINT WHERE I PRESSED THE BRAKE AND TURNED IT AGAIN FROM D TO P. THE SECOND TIME ALL WAS OK. I THOUGHT NOTHING ABOUT THIS UNTIL I NOTICED ARTICLES ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. I REPORTED THIS TO MY DEALER, JOHNSON DODGE, WHO ADVISED ME THAT THIS WAS NOT A RECALL AFTER I GAVE THEM MY VIN. JUST MAKING SURE THIS IS A SAFE ISSUE. *TR
HAS DIAL TRANSMISSION KNOB. SWEAR IT WAS IN PARK, OPENED DOOR, REALIZED IT WAS MOVING IN REVERSE. STOP IT AFTER DOOR WAS BENT FORWARD BY TREE. ALREADY BEEN CLAIMED AND REPAIRED. *TR
BREAKS WENT OUT ON THE FREEWAY.
MY 2014 RAM 1500 HAD TO HAVE ITS DEF (DIESEL EXHAUST FLUID) TANK REPLACED. I WAS TOLD SINCE IT IS AN EMISSIONS COMPONENT IT IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. IT COST OVER $2000 TO REPLACE THIS TANK ONLY BECAUSE THE SENDING UNIT WAS INOPERABLE. THE SENDING UNIT IS INTEGRAL TO THE TANK SO YOU COULD NOT REPLACE THE SENDING UNIT. THE SENDING UNIT WOULD NOT REGISTER A FULL TANK. WHEN THE UNIT INDICATED THE TANK WAS EMPTY (WHEN IT WAS NOT) THE VEHICLE IS REQUIRED TO GO INTO LIMP MODE(3-5MPH). THIS COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS WHEN DRIVING LONG DISTANCES IN REMOTE AREAS.
ALL BUTTONS ON FRONT RIGHT SIDE OF STEERING WHEEL (CRUISE CONTROL, GEAR+/-) HAVE COMPLETELY STOPPED FUNCTIONING. VEHICLE HAS 44,000 MILES, STEERING WHEEL WIRE HARNESS WAS SUPPOSEDLY REPLACED A YEAR AGO UNDER RECALL

WHEN THE CONTACT RETURNED TO THE VEHICLE, IT HAD ROLLED AWAY AND BACKED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,000.

IT IS IN THE SHOP WITH NO ETA ON THE PART SO I AM IN A RENTER SINCE 6SEPT2016. THE DEALERSHIP ONLY COVER 5 DAYS OF RENTER. SO I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REMAIN OF RENTER UNTIL TRUCK REPAIRED AND STILL MAKING MY TRUCK PAYMENT OF $613.00. ONE TIME I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AND IT JUST STOP WOULDN'T START AT ALL HAD TO BE TOW TO THE SHOP. THE REST OF THE STOP AND GO WAS ON STREETS.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AFTER THE FAILURE OCCURRED. NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. I STARTED THE TRUCK AND NOTICED THAT THE CONTROLS ON THE STEERING WHEEL FOR THE RADIO AND BLUE TOOTH DID NOT WORK. I ALSO NOTICED THAT THE HORN DID NOT WORK. I CAN NOT SCROLL THROUGH THE INFORMATION CENTER TO CHECK THE TIRE PRESSURE, SPEED, OIL LIFE OR ANY OTHER ITEMS IN THE INFORMATION CENTER. I ALSO DO NOT KNOW IF THIS ISSUE AFFECTS THE AIR BAG BEING ABLE TO DEPLOY. I CAN NOT RESET THE OIL LIFE AFTER I CHANGE THE OIL.
SMELL OF EXHAUST FUMES IN MY 4X4 RAM 1500 ECODIESEL. AT A LATER DATE VISUALLY SEEN WHITE FUMES THAT SMELLED STRONG OF EXHAUST ENTER CAB THOUGH VENT SYSTEM WHILE IN REVERSE, AND AT A FEW DAYS LATER IN "DRIVE." "REPAIRED" WITH A NEW EXHAUST GASKET BY LOCAL DEALER. SMELL STILL OCCURED AND SCHEDULED FOR ANOTHER REPAIR IN ABOUT 2 WEEKS. WILL SUPPLY DEALER WITH PRINTOUT PICTURES OF OTHER OWNERS WITH SAME PROBLEM. "EXHAUST FRONT PIPE" CRACK, AND VERY COMMON THOUGHOUT ALL YEAR MODEL ECODIESELS 2014-2016 4X2 AND 4X4. HAD 13 MONTH OLD FIRSTBORN IN FRONT SEAT AND NEEDS TO BE TAKEN MORE SERIOUS BY FCA (FIAT CHRYSTLER AMERICA). NO PICTURES AS OF YET AS THE PART IS OUT OF MY REACH UNTIL I REQUEST SEEING THE OLD REPLACED PART. FCA CLAIMS TO HAVE "MORE ROBUST PART" BUT AN HOUR AND TEN MINUTES OF PHONE TIME AND I HAVE REALIZED THERE IS NO "NEW" PART. VERY ANGRY OVER THE SITUATION, AS THERE IS NO RECALL FOR 4X4 MODELS AND THE 4X4 MODELS USE THE SAME PART NUMBER AND PART AS THE 4X2 MODELS. TECHS AT DEALERSHIP SEEM LOST. VERY EASY TO FIND INFORMATION ONLINE IN SECONDS FOR ANYBODY WHO LOOKS. OWNERS THAT HAVE EXPERIENCED THE PROBLEM WITH SAME 4X4 MODEL AS I, FEEL VERY MISLED AND LIED TO. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND AMOUNT OF EXHAUST IN CAB IS COMPLETELY UNSAFE AND COULD ABSOLUTELY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT ON THE ROAD.
I BELIEVE OUR TRUCK SHOULD BE PART OF MOST OF THE RECALLS LISTED FO RAM TRUCKS. OUR TIRES ARE WEARING ON THE OUTSIDE, THEY WON'T FIX. THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED AT TWENTY SOME THOUSANDS MILES, AND MY WIFE BEING THE PRIMARY DRIVER SAID THAT WHEN YOU COME TO A COMPLETE STOP THE TRUCK SOMETIMES JUMPS FORWARD. THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL SEAL WAS REPLACED. I'M AFRAID THAT WE MIGHT LOSE OUR WHEELS ON THE ROAD. THERE IS ALSO A CHEMICAL SMELL COMING FROM THE ENGINE THAT EVERYONE CAN SMELL BUT THE DEALER. CURRENTLY WORKING WITH CHRYSLER AND BEEN DRIVING A RENTAL FOR ALMOST A MONTH.
TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED DUE TO A MANUFACTURING DEFECT, NOT PART OF A RECALL, REAR MAIN SEAL WAS REPLACED, REAR DIFFERENTIAL SEAL WAS REPLACED, HIGH MOUNT BRAKE LIGHT WAS REPLACED DUE TO WATER LEAKING IN THE CAB. THERE IS A CHEMICAL SMELL COMING FROM ENGINE THRU VENTS. FRONT TIRES WEARING ON THE OUTSIDE MOST LIKELY THE TIE ROD DEFECT THAT THE DEALER WON'T ACKNOWLEDGE.

THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIRS WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED (BERNE DODGE IN BERNE, TEXAS) AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUES AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT PROVIDE A LOANER VEHICLE. AIR BAG LIGHT KEPT COMING ON. SEEN RECALL ON MY VEHICLE(15V-459), IN REGARD TO WIRE HARNESS CAUSING SHORT IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THE DEALER NOW STATE THAT THE WIRE HARNESS TO THE AIRBAG HAS SHORTED OUT UNDER THE SEAT. COSTING APPROXIMATELY $401.00. COULD THIS BE CAUSED BY THE RECALL ON 2014 DODGE RAM.

VEHICLE HAS HAD AND KEEPS HAVING THE AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT COME ON TO INCLUDE SERVICE AIR BAG SYSTEM LIGHT. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP 4 REPETITIVE TIMES AND TO COME THIS WEEK A 5TH TIME. ON THE 4TH TIME THEY INSTALLED A NEW MODULE AND THE PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS/ WHICH THEY STATED WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY SO HAD TO PAY $1500 IN REPAIRS. THEY ADVISED TO INSTALL A NEW BATTERY THE 3RD TIME AND DID NOT SOLVE THE ISSUE. THESE LIGHTS COME ON AT RANDOM TIMES, EITHER DRIVING OR STATIONARY.
WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE, THE HEADLIGHTS BLINK (AS IF YOU ARE ON A BUMPY ROAD). TOOK TO MACK GRUBBS/COLUMBIA, MS FOR A RECALL ISSUE AND HAD THEM TO LOOK AT LIGHTS. THEY TOLD ME THEY SEE THAT IN A LOT OF THOSE MODEL TRUCKS. I PICKED UP MY TRUCK FROM THE RECALL REPAIR AND WAS INFORMED I OWED $40 FOR DIAGNOSIS OF THE HEAD LIGHT ISSUE AND THAT IT WOULD BE $180 PLUS TAX AND LABOR TO REPAIR THE PASSENGER SIDE AND THE SAME TO REPAIR THE DRIVER SIDE. THAT IS WAS A WIRING HARNESS ISSUE. THE SERVICE MAN TOLD ME AND MY HUSBAND THAT THE IS VERY COMMON IN THE RAM TRUCKS. 1) THAT SHOULD MEAN A RECALL. 2) OUR TRUCK WAS IN OUR POSSESSION EXACTLY 2 YEARS, 1 DAY WHEN WE DROPPED IT OFF FOR THE RECALL ISSUE TO BE FIXED (WHICH WAS ABOUT A WEEK AFTER I HAD THEM TO DIAGNOS THE CHECK ENGINE/LIGHTS AND WAS TOLD OF A RECALL AND SET UP THE APPT). 3) WE PURCHASED AN ELECTRICAL INSURANCE AT TIME OF VEHICLE PURCHASE. I DO NOT RECCOMMEND THIS VEHICLE TO ANYONE! THE LIGHTS BLINKING ON/OFF AS YOU ARE DRIVING MAKES ONCOMING TRAFFIC BLINK THEIR LIGHTS OR THINK YOU ARE TRYING TO STOP THEM. NOT SAFE AT ALL.
