The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving 55 MPH, the vehicle lost power steering functionality with the power steering warning light illuminated. The contact continued to drive the vehicle however, the steering wheel became extremely stiff. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed, and the contact was advised that the steering unit had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 56,000.
Power Steering issues that have been known for multiple Dodge Ram 1500 Trucks but apparently not my specific Truck? I have contacted multiple shops to get quotes to fix this problem. It has been known to be a problem for multiple Ram 1500 Trucks including my year but for whatever reason my truck is not listed as under this recall? There was absolutely nothing wrong with my vehicle and my vehicle has been very well maintained with all records in hand. Out of nowhere getting in my truck the steering does not work. No accidents or any damage, just random failure to the power steering. This caused my family and I to barely be able to steer my truck onto the main road from our house and back to the home safely. It was very random as this was the first and only time this occurred. Curious as to why my vehicle is not covered under the recall that is listed for all other Dodge Ram 1500 Trucks for the same issues? This is not a normal thing to have fail.
ABS control module failed. Dash warning lights are on and error code present for ABS module failure. There is no replacement available and no one can give any kind of estimate for when the part may ever be available. They poses a huge safety risk and is a known problem in which it appears they are doing nothing about correcting.
The power steering keeps going out and coming back
About 2 months ago, the power steering assist stopped working and has been intermittent since. As I drove it to the dealership, I splashed into a puddle and the power steering returned. The dealership ran a check and found the code C2128 but said they could not replicate the problem. They found the PSA module cover was rusty. They wanted to charge $3,500 to replace the module as well as $2,300 to repair both front struts. I took my truck back (power steering inoperable) and researched parts, repair shops and recalls. There is a recall for PSA failure of the year of my vehicle though my truck is not included. I seem to have all the same issues as reported in the NHTSA recall. The power steering is presently still intermittent (wet weather seems to effect it) and feels generally unsafe as it fails and returns without warning. No other symptoms or indications before, during or after failure(s).
I originally brought my vehicle into Mac Haik Dodge in April 2025 for issues with my Air Suspension and 4-Wheel drive control modules displaying on the dashboard of my vehicle. I was advised by Mac Haik's Service department in April 2025 that they were unable to replicate or address the issues with my vehicle after having my vehicle for the 2 days. On 12/29/2025 my vehicle once again displayed the same exact issues that were being shown on my dashboard of the vehicle and I brought my vehicle to the Mac Haik Dodge to have these issues addressed. I was advised by Mac Haik's Service department that one DTCM module would need to be ordered to correct the service Air suspension and Service 4-Wheel drive control modules. After the one DTCM module was ordered and repaired I was advised that an additional module would need to be ordered to address the Air suspension features of my vehicle. Mac Haik ordered the 2nd module and repaired my vehicle. My vehicle was recently picked up on 01/20/2026 after a month's long repair process of my vehicle being at Mac Haik Dodge to have these 2 repairs completed. What I do not understand is why Mac Haik was not able to address or repair these concerning issues in April 2025. I ended up paying $1,801.00 for these costly repairs to get my vehicle's issues repaired. Moreonever, during the time my vehicle was at Mac Haik Dodge I missed several days of work due to only having 1 primary vehicle to drive as a means of transportation. I was not offered any sort of rental or loaner vehicle to have to drive while these repairs were ongoing. I am reaching out to Chrysler to see if anything can be done to offer any sort of assistance for a full reimbursement of my repairs that I paid for. I am attaching the full repair bill of $1,801.00 that I paid on 01/20/2026.
Hello, I am wanting to file a complaint regarding my 2016 Ram 1500 Rebel. As of April 2025 my vehicle's Air Suspension system has been a Safety issue for me. I have noticed that the Service Air Suspension Immediatley, Service Air Suspension system messages have been displaying on my vehicle's dashboard. I took my vehicle into the Mac Haik Dodge in Temple, TX in April 2025 for a diagnosis and no repairs were completed. I then noticed once again in December 2025 that my vehicle was displaying the same dtc messages above. The vehicle once again was taken into the Mac Haik Dodge in Temple, TX for a diagnosis and it was recommended to have the Air Suspension Control module replaced to correct this issue. I paid to have this repair completed in January 2026. My vehicle was returned to me and I was advised that I would no longer have any further issues. As a result, in February 2026 3 weeks of having my vehicle back in my posession the same dtc messages were once again displaying on my vehicle's dashboard. My vehicle was brought to the Mac Haik Dodge in Temple, TX for another diagnosis and it was recommened to either have the Air Suspension compressor replaced or to completely remove the entire Air Suspension system and transition to a Coil / Springs conversion to prevent any further issues. My concerns are that due to not having my vehicle repaired correctly back in April 2025 and the ongoing issues I have experienced this is considered a Safety risk with operating a vehicle that has not been repaired correctly. I've driven my vehicle and have now experienced the Air Suspension drop completely in the rear of the vehicle causing a severe and bumpy type ride while driivng my vehicle to a place that the vehicle can be parked. I wanted to express my concenrs to NHTSA to see if this issue could be looked into further. I have noticed that several other Vehicle owners who's vehicles are equipped with the Air Suspension have experienced similiar issues with their vehicles.
ASB warning light is on Emergency brake light is on Check engine light is on Fuel cap light is on Backup camera doesn't work well Brakes are sluggish. ABS doesn't seem to be working. Hard to stop to avoid collision. 2 close calls. Dealer says no part available to fix. It has been over a year.
Was driving and the power steering went out, cannot turn the steering wheel causing extreme danger to my family in the car and others driving as I could not turn to get off the road. Huge Hazard.
The Dealer did not complete this Safety Recall, They refused to follow up with the repair description of 73A which is part of this 66A they both have the same NHSTA Number. The vehicle seems to be more difficult to drive after getting it back from the dealer. I also noticed new cosmetic damages, and a missing cover under the fender-well. The vehicle was returned to me with an incomplete recall. Upon start get dash message "Service Electronic Braking System". When that goes away I'm left with these lights: ABS , Antilock system symbol, and BRAKE. As a result of this I have NO CRUISE CONTROL as well. Took the vehicle to Johnson Dodge dealership in Budd Lake, NJ. They told me the ABS modules are on back order for a year. Also that the replacement parts have been DISCONTINUED BY DODGE. No ETA available. I travel mostly hightway without ABS or cruise control. I worry about decreased stopping distance constantly. THIS IS A POTENTIALLY DEADLY THREAT TO ME AND PASSENGERS. The internet is full of complaints for the same problem.
ABS unit failed. This renders the Traction control system, ABS braking, cruise control, and 4WD system inert. I tried to repair/replace the unit it is on indefinite backorder, and repair shops cannot get the parts to fix the actual unit. Makes vehicle dangerous to drive in all but fair conditions. No solution has been provided by RAM.
I have electronic steering in my 2016 dodge ram it is failing when driving the truck has under 100,000 miles on it. It just happened all at once while driving to work one morning.
My power steering assist failed. This put my life and my kids lives at risk, as well as anyone else on the rroad.
Power steering fails intermittently while driving. Been told it the EPSboard but I'm not part of the recall for some reason
The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while her husband was driving 30 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power. There was smoke and oil coming from the engine. The driver was able to pull off the roadway. The check engine warning light illuminated after the failure. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the electric power steering assist had failed and needed to be replaced. The mechanic informed the contact that there was a recall related to the failure, NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V167000 (Steering). The contact had called a dealer but was informed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The contact called the manufacturer, and it was confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 177,000.
Steering rack went out around 70k miles
ABS module malfunction according to codes. Brake and traction control lights are on 97% of the time, randomly the lights won’t come on. But having no aBS or trailer brakes makes using our travel trailer extremely unsafe. Dealership continues to see “under engineering review “ when looking up abs module.
The right-hand turn signal fails to cancel after turning. Since we expect it to cancel, this leads to a driver going straight while signaling a right hand turn. Eventually the warning will sound. But the driver and public are at risk until the driver notices.

1. ABS break system, 2.Breaks not working properly 3 yes 4. no 5. no
My 2016 Ram 1500 is having all of the problems that the S19 Electric Power Steering Recall states will happen when it's failing and is greatly affecting the steering when I drive it . At times it's all I can do to steer it . I first ran my Vin for recalls and it showed None. I've reported it to the FCA and questioned them as to why my 2016 Ram was not included in this recall when it's clearly doing everything that it says in the recall, The ladies response when I asked if I was going to have to be in an accident and get injured or killed, was that she wasn't saying that in so many words but yes . I want something done about this because I shouldn't have to pay for a repair that is clearly in a recall for the 2016 year Ram 1500 which is what mine is. They are welcomed to look at my truck anytime and I'm going to have it taken to the dealership so I can have documentation of the problem .
Electronic power steering control has starting to glitch, bind, lock, and restrict turning. Occasionally it will be extremely rigid from one side and then it will proceed to be extremely loose and normal to another side. Varying at different times, and occurs randomly. Sometime it will lock in place while driving and other times it will be completely normal altogether.
The electric power steering system failed while I was driving. I was travelling at approximately 20mph the first time it stopped working and had just finished a turn onto a residential street. The dash said "service power steering" and the check engine light came on. I pulled the vehicle over, turned it off, then turned it on again and the power steering started working again but the check engine light was still on. Later that day, the check engine light turned itself off. I was driving on the freeway later that day and lost the power steering again travelling approximately 55mph. The vehicle became nearly impossible to steer and put myself and others on the road around me at risk due to the speed I was travelling and lack of control I had when the steering went out. Fortunately I was able to pull over and restart the vehicle and regain power steering to get my vehicle home. I have not taken the vehicle to a dealer yet.
I own a 2016 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel (VIN: [XXX] ). This vehicle is covered under the EcoDiesel Approved Emissions Modification (AEM) Settlement extended warranty. Since the update in January 2025, the truck has suffered repeated EGR system failures and related warranty failures. The EcoDiesel lawsuit itself was based on EGR cooler defects that could leak coolant and cause fires. My truck has experienced the same failure pattern, with coolant leaks, overheating, and unsafe breakdowns. On [XXX], the vehicle shut off in the middle of the road while I was driving, creating a serious hazard. The cause was traced to a covered emissions component. This was not an isolated incident. The vehicle has been in dealerships for over 60 cumulative days since January 2025, mostly for repeated EGR codes and fuel system issues, but the root problem has never been properly repaired. On [XXX], the low-pressure fuel pump failed after it had already been replaced. The premature failure left me stranded and required a $500 tow. This failure also presented a risk of sudden power loss in traffic. Despite repeated visits to authorized dealers, repairs are incomplete or improperly billed, including installation of non-OEM parts that failed again. The repeated stalling, coolant leaks, overheating, and sudden no-start conditions show that this truck remains unsafe to operate on public roads. I am reporting this as a safety defect because the emissions system failures and improper repairs have caused the vehicle to shut off while driving and continue to present a risk of fire, engine damage, and sudden loss of power. EPS went out while driving. No warning lights
ABS Module is failing preventing other systems to work properly (cruise control). This part has been on order since February. The service technician said there are people who have been waiting on this part for over a year and a half. Looking on line this is a problem of enormous proportions on multiple model years. If this part is not available to make this repair, it leaves us with a dangerous braking problem which can effect multiple other functions of our vehicles. If Stellantis knows this part is such a needed safety module, what can be done so owners can have their vehicles repaired?
ABS MODULE 68295368-AC failed. Prevents anti-locking brakes to function. Only have hydraulic brakes which will allow the vehicle to go into a skid. Does not allow the cruise control to function. This part has been on back order from my dealer since February 25, 2025. I have checked on the statis and have been told they are not even allowed to place any more requests for new customers with this same defected abs module. There is no after market part available for this model. Only option is to spin the wheel and hope for a working part from a salvage yard. There were recalls for previous models and later models. There are thousands of us, if not more with this problem. When will Stellantis be held accountable and get us the required part. With warning lights on the dash board for brake and traction control, there is little value to try and sell or trade my Ram 1500. Who would by it? With the defective abs module not only am I at risk, but other vehicles on the road could be endangered.
The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at approximately 55 MPH, there was a loud booming sound coming from the roof of the vehicle. The contact later discovered that the glass sunroof had shattered and there were shards of glass falling from the roof of the vehicle. There were no injuries reported. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 107,000.
The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the ABS, the electronic brake, and the trailer brake warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the traction control service message was displayed. Additionally, the electronic parking brake warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the battery was replaced; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where a reconfiguration of the vehicle was performed; however, the failure recurred while the contact was driving off the dealer's parking lot. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the ABS module had failed and needed to be replaced; however, the part was not available. The vehicle was not repaired. Additionally, the contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed in the snow, the ABS and the traction control were inoperable, causing the vehicle to slide. The contact had stopped driving the vehicle due to safety concerns. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was filed. The manufacturer informed the contact that the part would be manufactured after several part requests were received. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 108,000.
Partial loss of power steering while driving.
1. I believe my power steering is not working properly. I can feel it. 2. I believe it is getting worse and I could get into an accident. 3. No 4. No 5. No. I just feel it getting hard to steer.
I have been waiting 6 or more months for an ABS control module (part # 68295368AC) for my 2016 Ram 1500 (vin [XXX]). I cannot locate a new one at any dealer I have called as they all say the part is back ordered and they have no idea when it will be available. It seems to me that if the part has been unavailable for over six months then many trucks are having the same problem which would indicate faulty manufacturing and thus should be recalled. Driving this vehicle with this module not functioning properly disables the traction control as well as the ABS but I am forced to drive it as I have no other vehicle that I can drive while this one sits in the driveway waiting for a part that no one knows when it will be available. I hope you are able to help me convince Mopar that they need to replace the part at their expense ASAP or provide a replacement vehicle in the meantime. I lost power steering and hard to steer. I looked at fuses and f78 looked to be good. I made an appointment with Dodge dealer and when I was going to bring it steering worked. Now I need to wait to see if this issue happens again and this is dangerous while driving. There should be a recall on Module that causes this. I’ve read where this is common. We shouldn’t have to drive a vehicle with a known problem as you all are investigating this issue. Thank you!
The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 20-30 MPH, the steering wheel jerked to the left. Additionally, while making a turn, the steering wheel jerked to the opposite direction. The contact stated that the failure recurred on several occasions. The message "Check Power Steering" was displayed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the contact borrowed a screwdriver to access the power steering electrical wires. The contact discovered that the power steering wiring and electrical plug wiring were burned and melted. The contact purchased a new rack and pinion, but had become aware that the rack and pinion replacement would not repair the vehicle due to the burned electrical wiring. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V167000 (Steering); however, the VIN was not included. The dealer and the manufacturer were not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.
The steering is difficult as though the power steering is gone at low speeds. My battery died and after disconnecting it and replacing the battery, the power steering was fine for a few days. It then went back to not working and hasn’t worked since. Steering the truck around turns through a city is difficult when power steering isn’t available. No warning lights or check engine lights have been illuminated.
The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated that when the vehicle was started, the power steering warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the EPS system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was then towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the EPS system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 220,000.
I was driving on a blacktop road doing 60mph when I topped a hill and suddenly the road surface changed to mud and deep puddle of water , as I hit my brakes all the ABS BRAKE AND ANTI SKID LIGHTS on my dash lite up and the tires locked up and i slide almost sideways into a massive puddle of water at a very dangerous angle. The force of it was very difficult to steer my truck back straight to miss the bridge rails that was just yards ahead. Now the dodge dealership tells me the ABS BRAKE CONTROL MUDULE is under engineering review and can't be replaced because it's on back order. So for my safety I've parked it and bought a chevy . Will sell dodge when fixed if part recalled to make dodge fix it please.
Vehicle is experiencing a failure of the Anti Brake System Controller Module. This issue is triggering a "Red Brake" system light as well as others (Antiskid failure etc,) on the dash. Vehicle manual states do not drive the vehicle. The part number in question is 68295368AB. This is occurring in RAM1500 vehicles across the country. Dealerships are telling owners it is OK to drive the vehicle after confirming the ABS Controller Module is defective. Ram and parent company has failed to issue a recall or a communication to RAM 1500 owers of this problem. Currently the repair parts are not available nationwide per the RAM MOPAR parts website. This is a dangerous situation instilling a behavior with owners to disregard the warning lights they are receiving on their 1500 truck dashboards. Potentil for brake failure during operation has a high probability. Ram MOPAR is ignoring this safety issue.
-My ABS module failed over a year ago and is available for inspection. -My ABS, anti-lock, cruise control does not work. -The problem has been confirmed by a dealer and dealer said the part is no longer available. -The component has been inspected by a dealer. -There were warning lights when it failed and they have been on ever since.
The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving on the highway at 45 MPH, the tailgate unexpectedly opened. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact pulled over onto the side of the highway and closed the tailgate. The contact drove the vehicle to a local dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the lock actuator was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 118,000.
After having a full tank of fuel/gas my gas gauge will fluctuate to empty I'm saying no fuel on my gauges and the gas light will come on. When another person is in my vehicle like my wife driving that is not used to this will cause her to panic when she is on the highway or other roadways driving at high speeds and this can be dangerous. Also can be dangerous the other way giving false reading when you do need fuel and you don't have a 14 and it gives you false readings thinking you do have enough gas and leave you stranded in the wrong place wrong time wrong situation. 2018 intermediate until now 2025 almost daily to weekly. Research the problem in the past and have seen that this is a known issue
