I have had my issue for years. When ever I put the gear on Reverse, the image produced from the camera on the door liftgate latch tailgate handle on the screen flickers. So I don't get a solid feed at times. This caused me to back up into a poll in a parking lot. As a result, my rear bumper got a dent from the impact. Years earlier I had taken my truck over to the dodge service department at my local dealership where they did some type of reset to try to fix that issue but that did not fix it. I continued having that issue and to make things worse, it turns out that the service department has no record of my truck going in for that. I've fought over this with the service department but they don't want to take ownership of my problem. So now my rear bumper has a dent as a result from the flickering.
There is a design flaw with the block geometry, which leads to a condition where the rollers on the Lifters do not receive proper lubrication, eventually cease, and wear out the Cam. This happened to me on Sunday, June 4, 2023, while I was pulling out of a busy intersection, had a misfire, lost significant power, and slimly avoided a major car accident. The cost of the repair is still being evaluated; however, it will likely be measured in thousands. The safety issue is the real concern. RAM knows about this problem, continues to do nothing about it, and would not budge when I asked for assistance with this repair.
Every Ram 1500 around 30K miles cast iron exhaust manifold failure bolts brakes and/ or manifold cracks causing exhaust leak higher toxins in the air without going through the Cadillac converter. Ram been scamming people for decades, costing over $1,000 to resurface and/or replaced manifold gasket and bolts have to extract the broken bolts since the nut broke off the bolts
My 2019 Ram truck has less than 41,900 miles on it.I drove it Thursday morning, but then was stranded. The vehicle wouldn’t unlock, lock, or start. Upon entering using the manual key, the vehicle wouldn’t recognize my key fob. My second key fob would not work either. I called a locksmith to see if he could reset the computer, but he couldn’t. So I called a tow truck. After giving them $100, the dealer couldn’t look at it for several days. Meanwhile I’m stranded without a vehicle. Luckily not in the remote wilderness. My truck sat for a week. The dealer called and said the RF Hub was bad. The RF Hub controls everything from the key fobs, ignition, alarm, brakes, door locks, all electronics, etc. $605 now paid to the dealer for them to replace this RF Hub that is mounted on the back wall of the cab under the rear window. Had this been in the middle of winter, or when I was at high altitude in the mountains last fall it could be a life or death situation.Being locked out and unable to move a vehicle, being stranded is dangerous. Particularly with health issues. What the dealer didn’t do is correct the problem. The back window frame on these Rams breaks and then leaks water into the cab.The leak shorts out the electrical equipment behind the rear seat.Thankfully it didn’t start a fire. A google search of the issue finds hundreds of complaints about the rear windows in these trucks. Imagine a young mother with little children out on the road when the vehicle leaks enough to fry the RF Hub! The Ram dealer charged me to replace the RF Hub, but didn’t bother to fix the problem with the rear window. I am taking it upon myself to attempt to stop the leak before I get stranded again because of fried electronics because of their faulty design. I have attached pictures of the problem. After paying the locksmith, tow, dealer, and pulling out the rear seats, drying all of the carpet, it is clear to see the problem with the rear window. Recall this.
The Electronic power steering system stops working without warning or cause. It is available for inspection. While driving the loss of power steering stops you from be able to steer for turns or avoid a collision. A dealer confirmed that the (EPS) is shorting out causing this to happen. A warning light appears when EPS stops working stating "POWER STEERING IS UNEVALUABLE". There is a recall for 2019 1500 RAM's but my VIN is not one of the recalled. The serial number of the EPS gear is on the list of contaminated ones TIC2609A4211 I have reached out to Chrysler twice now and will not help me.
Digital dashboard went completely out. No warnings are illuminated no speedometer. Safety hazard
Rear window sliding window frame cracked in two places. Known issue that Ram is fixing for some owners with same model and year vehicle but will not apply extended warranty to my vehicle.
This is a second report to NHTSA for power steering issues. Three separate times, the power steering cut out between speeds of 30 - 45 MPH making it difficult to turn and change lanes.
Truck had check engine light and sever loss of power Intermittently. Brought to dealer to have it checked. Dealer said they cannot clear the code or fix the issue as the recall in effect does not have the parts out to fix. Recall z46 has been in effect since June of 22 and there is still no solution. I called manufacturer to ask about it and they all they said was quote "I'm sorry there's nothing we can do about it".
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated he was unable to start the vehicle. The contact stated that he was able to jumpstart the vehicle. The contact stated while depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact towed the vehicle to the local dealer and made them aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 48,000.
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that on two separate occasions while driving at undisclosed speeds, the service power steering warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, the cause of the failure could not be determined. The contact stated that the service power steering warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that on another occasion while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel started to shake and abruptly jerked. As a result, the vehicle became uncontrollable. The contact was able to regain control of the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that vehicle lost electrical grounding, causing the power steering assist to short circuit. The contact was informed that the rack and pinion and gear assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was advised to call the NHTSA Hotline, but no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 74,000.
2019 RAM classic with significant wobble /vibration during highway driving between 40 and 80 at cruising speed. Will do similar shaking during acceleration, but not consistently. We have replaced the rims, all 4 tires (the two rear wheels have been replaced twice), the vehicle has been balanced twice, once high speed and once with all 4 wheels. the tires have been balanced as well. The vehicle has gone to several different repair shops trying to troubleshoot the problem. Documents are available upon request.
Dodge pickup was traveling south down the highway at 65 mph and was met by an approaching semi pulling a fully loaded belly dump trailer also traveling at 65 mph. When both vehicles were about to meet, the trailer unloaded all 46,000 pounds of large rock onto the highway. The rocks proceeded to bounce into the front end of the Dodge at estimated speeds of 120-150 mph and lasted approximately 1 mile of highway (mile marker to mile marker). The driver of the Dodge engaged his brakes and was able to come to a complete stop on the roadway, but was struck in the side of the head by one of the rocks and died a short time later at a nearby hospital. The pickup sustained approximately $46,000 in damages during the incident, including major front end damage, a cracked radiator making the vehicle undrivable, and both a broken dash and bent steering wheel from the one rock that made it through the windshield. The Dodge was considered a complete loss by the insurance company. Both the driver and passenger of the Dodge were wearing their seatbelts and not a single airbag was deployed during the incident, including the steering wheel airbag. The steering wheel, which was hit by a rock traveling at an estimated speed of 120-150 mph, bent from the force of the impact, yet the airbag did not deploy. Had it deployed, the driver of the Dodge wouldn't have sustained such a catastrophic injury and would more than likely still be alive.
This issue has not occurred to me yet, but I have seen many instances in my research of the issue of where the issue has occurred. I believe it should be looked at seriously because of the risks. The rear back window has a defect that allows a crack in the plastic frame of the window to allow water in from the outside of the truck. The water intrusion itself is not a safety issue, but the damage it can cause to the RF Module system that is mounted behind the back seat of the vehicle is a safety issue. If the leak becomes severe enough it can cause the module to short out or completely go out. This module controls the keyless start system. If the system were to short out while driving it could result in the vehicle turning off and the driver losing control of the electrical systems in the vehicle. RAM will only cover the replacement of the window under warranty, but many owner's don't even know of the issue. I didn't until I noticed the water all over my seats. RAM also only replaces the window with an exact replacement that will allow for the issue to reoccur.
Tailgate opening randomly going down the road.
My 2019 Ram 1500 will not take more than a few ounces of fuel at a time. It takes well over a half hour to refuel my tank. The pump constantly shuts off and the tank constantly spits gasoline back at me when trying to refuel, it is not safe to have gasoline spilled on you. I have a toddler, and I do not want her exposed to the fumes after I am doused with gasoline trying to refill my Ram 1500. No warning lights are illuminated on the dashboard. I have scheduled an appointment for a dealer to examine the issue.
The vehicle has worn out mechanical components and shakes at highways speeds and the wheels bearing/balljoints are so bad the vehicle swerves all over the road and is nearly impossible to keep under control. I visited the dealer service center and asked for it to be repaired. They answered my call after a week and said they have found nothing severely wrong with the truck and it is ready to be picked up. This is a danger to all drivers on the road also to my girlfriend and I. This is unprofessional and criminal.
Rear Window seal and Fin on top of roof failed causing large amounts of water to enter the car cabin flooding the floor around electrical components under passenger seat area and elsewhere,Floor was sopping wet many times before I found out there was a rear window problem.I fear since I live in tropical Florida Mold may be growing under my carpet ,plus we had a bad smell like nasty old cigars in the cabin when we get in ,No one smokes in my family..I took it to the dealer for repair who stated yes we know about it ,it is a common problem and we can fix it but it is not covered under warranty,I paid $183.84 to have the dealer repair my leaks as I was concerned about a fire from electrical wires shorting out. After they fixed it there repair causes water to flow from the dirty roof down the back of my rear tinted window causing me a loss of visibility out my rear window unless i climb in the back of my truck bed and clean my rear window regularly. Which is very hard for a [XXX] man who has had a spinal fusion to do .Because this repair they made fills in the water channel that moves the water to the sides of the windows and off the truck sides ,it now flows like niagara falls over the back of my window from the top of the roof causing a constant dirty window that blocks my vision on a tinted window worse than a normal window and is a safety hazard .The window was designed to channel the water to the sides to prevent that problem and keep the window clean and clear. it is very irritating to check your rear window when backing or looking to see if anyone's back there where the camera does not show and as your driving down the [XXX] and trying to change lanes at 70mph with a filthy tinted rear window its dangerous. I have not been reimbursed from the Manufacturer for the dealer repairs to my window after i sent in required documents to be reimbursed as stated in there letter to me that also extends my warranty on this. its been 9 months now INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Fuel pump failure resulted in the loss of propulsion on the Highway.
Exhaust manifold is cracked, and broken exhaust bolts.
2019 Ram Laramie 1500 instrument or cluster panel goes blank or speedometer goes blurry and unreadable.
Trim cracks around rear window, allowing rain to come inside while driving, this creates a mist that is detrimental to driver safety. Water gets onto inside of windshield and in the drivers face. Needs to be addressed before someone gets blinded by the rain mist and unable to see safely.
Had bot exhaust manifolds replaced with under 44k miles first manifold cracked under 20k miles. Ram will only honor these repairs until 60k 5 years. Everyone I know has had theirs crack this is obviously a design or casting problem . It will likely happen again . Why is this company not held to fix these issues under initial owner after the warranty. especially if it is a known issue.
While the vehicle is running is hard to turn left and the steering wheel got stuck turning left at any speed..!!! This problem happens very frequently sense the date of purchase..!! The vehicle currently has 100541 miles
The dashboard on the 2019 Ram 1500 Limited has a problem with the leather dash covering becoming separated from the dashboard itself bubbling up. Besides looking horrible, this may cause a safety issue with the airbag deployment from the dashboard. I was told that people have been able to get their dashboard repaired because of that reason but not just for the bubbling up of the leather from the dash which RAM tells you isn't even covered by their warranty on a $67,000 vehicle which sounds unacceptable. I know there are a lot of complaints about the RAM dash leather delamination issue where it separates from the substrate.
service shifter, park sense unavailable, auto start stop unavailable warning lights came on ever time truck are in slow speed or stopped. sometimes cancel the cruise control and turn on the check engine light
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving on several occasions, the instrument panel and display panel blacked out intermittently. The vehicle was taken to a dealer six times where it was diagnosed that a software update was needed. The software update was performed but the failure persisted. Additionally, on approximately four occasions the star connector was relocated, and the light switch and battery were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for the seventh time and was diagnosed and determined that the illumination cluster needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired but the part was ordered. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V556000 (Electrical System). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a complaint was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 31,223.
Parking sensors will activate at random times when nothing is around or in proximity.
Power steering cut in and out while driving and changing lanes making it difficult to steer. While attempting to force the wheel to steer properly, power steering re-engaged causing truck to jerk.
The contact owned a 2019 RAM 1500. The contact stated that while her son was driving at an undisclosed speed and due to an unknown cause, he caused the vehicle to swerve and then crash into a pole. No warning lights were illuminated. The air bags had failed to deploy, and the contact's son had not sustained injuries. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and deemed totaled. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. The check engine and voltage warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who informed him that the eTorque system was not charging the battery as designed. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not covered under warranty. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 71,000.
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving 50-55 MPH, the message "Service Shifter" was displayed, and the vehicle shifted into neutral independently. The contact veered to the side of the roadway. The contact stated that she turned off and restarted the vehicle, and the vehicle responded as needed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed and it was determined that the shift knob wiring had failed; however, the vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred while driving from a complete stop. The dealer was contacted and advised the contact to take the vehicle in for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 58,000.
The truck intermittently comes out of gear when braking. A bell rings and a message is displayed on the dash instructing the driver to shift the truck into park and then select desired gear. The dealership cannot replicate the problem and has not been able to fix the problem. The truck has been in and out of the dealership for the past year and the problem still exists. I have an active lemon law claim with Ram. They denied the claim stating it is a warrantee matter, but they cannot fix it. I have a call into the Department of Consumer Affairs to initiate the arbitration process. My family and I are afraid to drive the truck due to the safety issue.
The radio system Uconnect the backup camera screen freezes in position causing confusion while backing up. My truck has 22,000 miles on it they say it's not covered under warranty and they cannot fix the problem the screen is also delaminating on the radio which causes function of the controls to network and very distracting while driving down the road. Difficulty changing radio stations and the system automatically changes and does things for you it even tries to call SOS for you for no reason at all.
Vehicle purchased from new, and serviced appropriately. 4/18/2023, started vehicle in am and drove 30 minutes. Stopped and parked, and vehicle failed to turn off when using start/stop button. Unable to shut vehicle down. Drove to dealer 30 minutes away, and tested where start/stop button jammed/inoperable. Danger associated that vehicle is unable to be shut down in any way if button is stuck (possible defective manufacturing), and vehicle is unable to be stalled to shut vehicle down. Vehicle must have battery disconnected or run out of fuel in order to stop in these circumstances.
While driving at various speeds, the instrument cluster has malfunctioned on several occasions. The speedometer, tachometer, engine coolant gauge, oil pressure gauge, battery charge gauge, and fuel gage go to "0" while the center information panel begins to cycle through what seems to be all available messages like "Service Power Steering", "Service Electronic Stability Control", "Service Park Brake", "Service Tire Pressure System", "Service Transmission, Continue in D. Do Not Shift or Turn Engine Off", etc. The current mileage windows shows "NO BUS". Sometime the indicator light on the shift selector would go dark, but not always. In most cases, these instrument cluster returns to normal operation, but the issue will resurface in a few days, especially when the ambient temperature is greater than 95F. I took the vehicle to the Griffith/Gunn Dodge Dealership in Seguin, Tx and they "reprogrammed all modules" and stated that the problem was resolved. It wasn't. I returned and got a full refund. This is a known issue and has been documented on many Dodge Ram forums across many year models of trucks. However, no recall has been issued for this extraordinarily dangerous situation. It is unclear if the problem resides in the instrument cluster, the ECM, or wire harness. I urge the NHTSA to force Dodge to recall vehicles with a known issue. I have a video of the issue while traveling 75 mph.
Inside the truck I have located a crack in the rear window. The crack is in both sides of the sliding rear window and now leaks. I’m sure overtime this can damage in the interior which may damage seats and or the body of the vehicle. My vehicle is out of warrants and apparently they won’t cover this. Major defect, websites easily accessible with the same issue I have encountered.
I bought a 2019 Ram July of 2022 - I drove it home and pick up my dad to drive my old truck back (didn’t trade it in), as I was pulling up to the dealership, I experienced a huge safety issue with the truck continuing to accelerate after multiple alarms were flashing on my dash - service electronic stable control, service electronic throttle control, parking break - along with others. I pulled it into the dealership and the salesman who sold me the truck just happened to be outside - pulled up and told him I wasn’t shutting this off until we get something hooked up to it to see what the issue is.. they hooked it up and it threw a code for Traction control (I believe). They ended up keeping the truck for a week - then they said they replace a relay and the found a pinched wire…. So this happened at 32,000 miles.. Now almost a year later, the exact same thing happened tonight on Easter while I had my entire family in my truck! Went over a couple bumps on a rough corner of a road about 30 foot from a stop sign. My dash lit up like a Christmas tree with multiple alarms popping up and the truck continued to accelerate through the stop sign! I ended up getting the truck stopped in the middle of the intersection after I realized what just happened, luckily there was no one in front of me or at any of the stop signs as I went through! I was only 2 miles from mg house, so I took it slow, but the truck continued to accelerate each time I took my foot off the break! It was like hitting resume on your cruise control on the interstate after you slowed down. Finally made it home and took pictures of the alarms that were still present. Let my truck sit there for about an hour and started it up and it shows no messages stored but the check engine light is on. If tonight happened at a busier intersection, I could have put my family in a life-threatening situation! I have to other ways of transportation, I am taking a risk and putting others at risk driving to work.
2019 Ram Ecodiesel 3.0. I was Driving back to work on Easter Sunday 2023 after visiting family. It was a 5 hour trip, I was halfway through when the engine started making a loud banging sound. I pulled over & the engine died and would not turn over. I am sure the engine threw a rod, two other driver stopped & asked if everything was ok because they could hear the engine noise from their cars when it happened. There were no check engine lights or messages before or during the engine failing. I had to get a tow truck & tow it to the nearest dealer. It has been at the dealer for 2 weeks, they still have not diagnosed a problem but said if it is the engine it is on backorder & they don't know when it will be fixed & they refuse to give me a loaner. The truck is still under powertrain warranty. Where is my consumer protection? It is beyond frustrating to pay big money for something & not have what you paid for. I bought the truck for reliable transportation & Ram refuses to give me another vehicle. I am still having to pay insurance & car tag fees for my truck while I wait for an answer from the dealer, I have no idea if they will warranty it or when the truck will be repaired. On a separate note there is also an open fuel pump recall on my truck that is close to a year old with no ETA on a fix. I did not purchase a vehicle with plans to never have the recall fixed, I had one RAM dealer in Laurel, MS tell me it was an unrepairable recall & they were not even interested in purchasing my truck or a trade in due to the recall before my engine failed.
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds and turning, the vehicle lost power steering functionality. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the steering rack needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The contact stated while driving out of the driveway and attempting to make a right turn, the vehicle lost power steering functionality, causing the contact to drive into a small ditch. There was no injury sustained. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred while attempting to make a left turn in a parking lot, nearly causing a crash. The contact used physical strength to steer the vehicle. The contact followed up with the manufacturer and was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 66,000.
While driving service power steering light came on and lost power steering. Parked car restarted light when out. Later tried to go in drive and same thing happened and won’t go out at this time. Truck is virtually underivable without power steering.
MY VEHICLE IS A 2019 RAM 1500 LARAMIE WHICH DEVELOPED A TICKING SOUND ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE ENGINE. AFTER DOING MY RESEARCH, THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE RAM HEMI ENGINE ON BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDES. THERE ARE MANY OWNERS STATING THAT THIS IS DUE TO THE ENGINE MANIFOLD OR BOLTS AND SOMETIMES BOTH CRACKING FROM WARPING OF THE MANIFOLD. AFTER INSPECTION, THE MANIFOLD AND BOLTS ARE BOTH CRACKED AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. THIS SEEMS TO BE MORE THAN COMMON AND AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE AND CHRYSLER NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS.
System - 5 months after I purchased my vehicle, my 12 inch screen went black. Safety - Because the screen is black, I cannot use the back-up camera. I cannot see behind the truck. This is a major safety issue for me. Dealer - I have taken my vehicle to Fitzgerald Auto Mall in Lexington Park, Maryland and Waldorf Ram in Waldorf, Maryland a total of 6 times. The service center at Waldorf Ram tried several solutions (hard resets, replaced screen, etc.). The problem returned within 2 days. Inspection - The vehicle has been inspected by two dealerships. Warnings - There were no warnings prior to the screen going blank. This is a serious safety issue. If I can't see what's behind me while backing up, I could potentially hit something or someone. That can result in a serious crash or injury. The same issue has been happening with Ford Explorers recently. Ford issue a recall in January 2023 due to low visibility and risk of crash.
ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING MY DODGE RAM PICKUP AFTER ABOUT 39 MINUTES OF DRIVING THE POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT WOULD COME ON AND THE POWER STEERING WOULD FAIL MAKING IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER. A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION TO BE PUT IN. i TOOK IT TO MY DODGE RAM DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED IT NEW AND THE DIAGNOSTIC CODE EPS-U1601 CONFIRMED A FAILED ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING UNIT. THE DEALER REPLACED THE UNIT AT A COST OF 3275 DOLLARS . THIS DESPITE THE FACT THAT FIAT CHYSLER OF AMERICA ISSUED A SAFETY RECALL VB8/NHTSA 19V-812 FOR THIS VERY VEHICLE YEAR AND MODEL AND THE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ON VARIOUS WEBSITES FOR THIS VERY ISSUE. YET FCA AND THE NHTSA CLAIM IT DOESNT APPLY TO MY VIN, AMAZING! THERE IS A REAL ISSUE HERE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AND NOT GIVEN THE RUN-A-ROUND LIKE I HAVE.
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, an abnormal ticking sound was coming from the engine. The contact stated that over time, the ticking sound became louder, with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and the contact was informed that the cam shaft intake, the cylinder head, the valve cover gasket, and several other unknown parts inside the engine needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired and remained in the possession of the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 103,000.
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving 65–70 MPH, the steering wheel was tight while turning. Additionally, while driving, the power steering became inoperable. The contact stated that water was entering the steering column, which caused the steering to disengage. The contact stated that the service power steering light was illuminated. The local dealer was contacted, who informed the contact that there were no associated recalls. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated the failure was like NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V812000 (Steering). The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 167,000.
Occasionally when I am driving whether it be slowing down at a light, stopped at a light the car will display shift car to P to drive and automatically shift itself into to P. It is very scary.I have a 2 year old daughter I am worried it will get worse and when I am driving one day it will just stop when I’m driving and someone will hit me. I have taken the truck to the dealership and they had ran updates and had said that was it when it did not in fact fix the issue at all. This is issue had started about a year ago I have less then 30000 miles on the truck. I really wish we would be heard and the problem could be fixed before someone is seriously hurt. I have read others threads and sites where it is happening to other truck owners and they take the vehicle in and the dealership tries multiple things to fix it and it has not resolved the issue.
Problem refueling. nozzle/pump keeps shutting off after every 3-5 seconds causing gas to splash back. Truck was fine until 2022 problem getting worse.
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the steering wheel seized. The contact stated that the vehicle lost power steering functionality intermittently. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact called the local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V812000 (Steering) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 61,300.
The electric power steering seized while driving. No check engine light, no warning. A recall was issued for other VIN numbers regarding this, but per FCA and Ram no recall systemically is issued. The power steering cannot be manually manipulated when this happens giving you only an option to stop completely wherever you are.
