When Filling the truck up with fuel, after 1-2 gallons the pump would shut off and I would have to repeat this process to fill up my 32-gallon tank. When I took it to the mechanic, it was found that the tank and filler neck was not properly preventing the pressure, causing the pump to think the tank was full and shut off. By the time we figured out the issue Stellantis had already developed an updated tank and filler neck and were putting it into their new trucks, but they never informed the public of the error nor issued any kind of recall to fix the existing issue.
Having to replace the rotors and brake pads just about every 6 months. Constantly hearing the front brakes grinding into the rotors while driving. Front and rear calibers are not releasing pressure after brakes are applied. Issue began in 2022 after buying the vehicle.
Known manufacturer defect in rear sliding window plastic frame that cracks and allows water to enter into the rear cab of the truck. This leads to wet seats, headliner and carpet. If undetected or not corrected this could lead to mold growing behind the rear seats. This also is causing rust on the bolts that hold the rear seat in place. It also affects the various electronic controls that reside behind the rear seat. If those controls short out and sizable the truck while it is traveling down the highway this could lead to a fatality. The FCA is NOT repairing is issue after the 3 year/36,000 mile warranty or if the vehicle was purchased (and registered in Canada and then resold in the US).
Hi The Stop/Start system is not working correctly, the engine stated to misfire randomly and now 70,00 + miles the stop and start system is making the truck unsafe to drive. I have taken it to my local ram / jeep dealer and the problem is not fixed.
Exhaust manifold warped causing manifold bolts to break causing bolts to break. Dodge dealer Mechanic from dodge stated this has been a common reoccurring problem and has done hundreds of repair for this. It has occurred so many times there is a special tool made specifically for this issue.
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at 45-60 MPH, the steering warning light was illuminated. The contact did not experience any mechanical failures and continued driving. However, the failure reoccurred and the steering wheel lost power steering intermittently while driving the next day. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the rack and pinion needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact the vehicle could not be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V812000 (Steering) as the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 40,010.
Started my vehicle and the INSTRUMENT PANEL was blank. I can't get messages, warnings, cruise control information, or anything else that provide vehicle operating specifications (engine temp, oil temp, transmission temp, etc.). Failure of the instrument cluster to properly illuminate prevents me from receiving warnings about the vehicle's systems and increase the risk of crash.
Water leaks on roof that stain interior head liner over rear window that also may affect rear curtain air bags.
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle independently shifted into neutral(N) with a message to park the vehicle was displayed. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring while driving. The contact stated while driving 10-15 MPH and making a turn, the failure recurred, nearly causing oncoming vehicles to crash into the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the transmission had failed; however, the dealer informed the contact that there was no fix for the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that it was a known failure. A case was opened, and the manufacturer provided rental assistance. The manufacturer later informed the contact to drive or trade the vehicle because there was no current fix for the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
While driving the airbag disabled light, driver seatbelt sensor and auto park disabled light came on. This has been a recurring issue since my purchase in February 2022. I believe this is a safety issue because the airbag may fail to deploy in the event of a collision. The vehicle will be inspected by the dealership it was purchased at on 6/21/22.

For Etorque models this absolutely IS a safety concern!! There's a potential for the leak resulting from a manufacturer defect and they're actively repairing that very issue on my truck. This defect is known to cause the rear seat area to accumulate water/moisture.This leak is a known issue, then shouldn't the etorque system (48 volt battery) be shielded from the potential risk of water exposure? This is a 48 volt battery. Water and electricity together could cause multiple safety issues. There could be a short or electrical or computer failure.. Shutting the vehicle down while driving or worse yet starting a fire inside the cab of the truck causing possible multiple injuries or fatalities! THIS PROBLEM IS DANGEROUS!! It should be recalled and reengineered BEFORE injuries or fatalities occur!! Please do the right thing and initiate a recall with this dangerous problem so etorque model drivers are SAFE and I, a disabled veteran, can can get reimbursed for the $1422.98 that the dealer charged me for unnecessary parts and labor this FCA manufacturer mistake cost me. I was driving on I-75 at approximately 73 mph when my instrument panel lights blinked and then turned off. My vehicle lost all power, I turned the steering wheel about 5-10 degrees to the right and my steering wheel locked. I could not press the brake pedal because it was stuck. I was able to get on the side of the highway where vehicle stopped. Hazard lights did not work, I could not unlock doors, start, or stop the car. When the tow truck came, they checked the battery and it had good voltage. The truck was towed to Feldman Ram dealership since 16 June 2022. I am being told that Mechanics are having difficulty figuring out the problem to this day.
Hello.. I purchased a 2019 Ram 1500 limited with the 5.7 etorque VIN# [XXX] with approximately 32000 miles on it in December of 2021 from Barton Cadillac in Newburgh N.Y.. I've put about 2000 miles more on it. About 2 weeks ago upon startup my low voltage light lit up. As the engine ran for a few seconds, the voltage continued to drop even more into the very low 11's with the red warning light illuminated....After about a minute and a half, abruptly, the voltage soared up to normal range ..14 - 14.2 volts..This happened multiple times..Finally I brought it in to Hudson Valley Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership in Newburgh NY...I was told I probably needed a new battery..So they replaced my battery but the problem was still there...So I went back and they searched for codes with their scan tool and found many pertaining to the etorque battery and components behind the rear seat...They told me water had leaked in through cracks on the plastic frame of the rear window onto the etorque battery pack and other electronic components and ruined them..They said It wasn't covered under the etorque 8 year or 80000 mile warranty because there was flooding in that area of the truck...Flooding..That truck had a cracked rear window trim which is a well known manufacturers defect..Many Ram owners have had the same issue..I have read on some forums that some dealerships did in fact cover costs for this issue even though it was not covered by the warranty...As I'm sure you know, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has had a bulletin on this..Case # [XXX] REV A released on 1/30/21..Technically my warranty ran out on November of 2021.. .So I purchased a battery which was not the problem..It cost me $350 with troubleshooting fee..Now they're saying I have to pay for a new etorque battery pack, a replacement window which is a widely known manufacturers defect and I'd also have to pay for the labor costs..So a defective window leaked water on the etorque battery they are claimi INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
A recall will only be issued for safety concerns. A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) will be issued for known problems which are not a safety concern. A TSB isn't required to be repaired, so many times they aren't checked or fixed unless the consumer reports the problem. Likewise, if not addressed during the warranty period, they are typically* up to you to fix and/or pay for. (* more on this below) This is unlike a recall which will have safety implications and thus it must be repaired regardless of model year or mileage. This is why they send things out in the mail urging you to have the vehicle inspected/repaired. This covers them against legal claims if the affected part fails and causes injury/death. Don't confuse a "recalled" item with a known defect. They are two very different things. FCA well knows it's a common problem and they've got a TSB on it However, a leaking window/roof does not pose a safety concern so there isn't a recall for it. That doesn't mean it's not a known defect. With this being a known issue it makes it extremely difficult for FCA to claim i have a flooding problem that i caused. They know there's a potential for the leak resulting from a manufacturer defect and they're actively repairing that very issue on my truck. This defect is known to cause the rear seat area to accumulate water/moisture. This also If this leak is a known issue, then shouldn't the etorque system be shielded from the potential risk of water exposure? That's not on me I didn't alter the vehicle, drive through deep water, or somehow create damage to the covered part. It's a manufacturer defect plain and simple. It happens to be where the etorque battery is located. Water is obviously bad for electronics. Therefore the logical and reasonable person would conclude that the defect has cause the failure of the etorque system. So what about that warranty. Obviously the leak is outside the 3 year/36K mile warranty. However a vehicle warranty guarantees (or "warrants") th
at 30,000 MILES nothing Significant YET. However TWO NHSTA Recalls Have Been Issued the first Now Going on 2 Years. BOTH Ram & the Dealer have been Contacted, the Dealer 3 Times with NO Remedy being Available. Stellantis/RAM seems to NOT CARE, this being Disturbing and Annoying. Unacceptable.
When driving at speed and speeding up the transmission can go out of gear and leave the truck unable to accelerate. This has happened on the highway multiple times. Dealership CJDR24 unable to diagnose issue. Has been there twice. First time they said it was battery next time they said it was a transmission recall code that needed to be reset. Issue still remains. It is not a persistent issue but it is dangerous and has almost caused accidents on multiple occasions. To get transmission back in gear vehicle must be put in park or turned off then back on and it can drive normally again.
- There's a malfunction with the rack and pinion resulting in the steering wheel to get stuck in a position while traveling at highway speeds. When making a lane change or a left bend at speeds above 45mph, the steering wheel is sticking at about 20-30 degrees from the top. This results in jolting to overcorrect the steering and get the steering components unstuck. - The component is available for inspection upon request. - The problem is currently being looked at by the dealer, but I have not sought for them to reproduce the problem. - No official inspection has been performed, yet. - No.
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated while starting the vehicle, he heard an abnormal sound coming from the vehicle. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the manifold gauges to be replaced. The vehicle was currently being repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 63,000.
The exhaust manifold bolts have broken allowing the exhaust to escape into the engine compartment which allows these fumes to be pulled into the fresh air inlet into the cab of the truck. it has been inspected by Cole Chrysler in Marshall Michigan. their reply was it is happening on many of their trucks and cars with the Hemi engine and the cost to repair it is $1200.00 and is not covered under any warranty or recall, and said it is not a safety issue. I have made calls to Chrysler and have had zero cooperation in trying to resolve this issue. I am [XXX] and never in all my years of owning cars have ever seen an exhaust manifold bolt break under normal driving conditions. These are breaking one by one, there are 8 broken bolts now, the truck is louder and more fumes are escaping now. this is dangerous to the health to anyone who is having the same issue and can't afford to throw away $1200 on $20 worth of bad bolts. Thank you for taking the time to read this and please help all of us who are having this issue INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated while making a turn from a complete stop, he heard abnormal grinding sounds coming from the rear of the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring while driving. Digital dash display very seldom lights up so I can't track tire pressure, mileage and warning lights It should light up when the door opens
My vehicle had issues in which all safety features have been turned off in the truck in June of 2022. Two dealerships have determined that it is a module but Ram has not been able to get the part now going on 5 months. Airbags, Lights, Safety features are all not working. I have tried to escalate but no response. I keep being told month after month that this will be corrected but still nothing. This is a major concern as this is a vehicle that has to be used and yet it is completely unsafe.
Electronic Power Steering Failed, Rack and Pinion was replaced and dealer kept the failed component , Was impossible to safely steer the vehicle and maintain control the vehicle, luckily it failed at a location that didn't result in a crash! Failure was confirmed by Dealer and Rack and Pinion had to be replaced. Happened without any prior warnings or symptoms
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH in the rain, the windshield wipers failed to operate as needed. The contact veered to the side of the road and readjusted the windshield wipers however, the failure reoccurred while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who informed the contact that he would be responsible for the cost of the diagnostic test. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact became aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: c (Visibility) which he associated with the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist as the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 47,000.
about half a year ago, i noticed the seat belt didn't retract properly, and on occasion, it would lock me into the seat preventing me from moving even though there was no reason for the belt to lock. then a airbag light illuminated on the dash a few weeks ago, on the same day that i was standing still at a traffic light, and i tried to reach for a folder on the passenger seat, when the seatbelt would not allow me to move. So i made an appointment with the ram dealer. they just inspected and tested the truck. The dealer just told me it had something to do with the front outerleft seatbelt assembly. They say the ohms is low and the airbag will not deploy and the seatbelt may not work unless the entire assembly is replaced. I was told this is not covered under warranty, not even the extended warranty i purchased. the car is less than 3 years since delivery, and has 52900 miles on it. I can't believe such a safety issue would not be covered. I believe any car manufacturer should sell a vehicle that has a reliable safety restraint and airbag system, don't you? They tell me the part number is (mopar) #5kp971x9ag
There frame around the rear sliding window is cracked in two places. Water appears to be getting into the vehicle through the cracks. I've brought this to the local dealer's attntion and they stated that even though it was a common issue, there is no recall yet for this. The headliner in the vehicle also shows water stains near the area where the cracks are.

The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at 22 MPH, an unknown vehicle crashed into the side panel, however, the air bag did not deploy. There were no warning lights illuminated. There was no reported fire or injuries. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a collision center. The local dealer was not contacted; the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000. Additionally, while driving 80 MPH, a semi-truck ran him off the road and crashed into a steel pole. The anti-lock brakes did not work. The occupants were wearing seatbelts. The airbags failed to deploy. The contact's face struck the front windshield. There were no warning lights illuminated. The driver hit the steering wheel. The contact and his daughter were taken to the hospital by ambulance, which provided medical attention. There was no reported fire. A police report was filed. The vehicle was able to be driven away. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who determined the vehicle was working as designed and the failure was a user error. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred to the NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 99,800.
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving 25 MPH, several unknown warning lights illuminated and the vehicle stalled. The contact stated she was unable to activate the hazard lights. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and drive to her destination. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 82,682.
I was driving down a road with no load on the truck at about 35 mph. The front tire blew out. Stopped immediately. The tire had torn all the way across the tread from outside of wheel to inside of wheel. See attached pics. I had a former goodyear employee look at it and he said he thought it was defective. If this had happened at higher speed could have been very bad, could have killed me or others. As it was the tire caused over $2000 damage to the truck - inner fender well and fender etc...These were original tires that came on the truck new had about 31,000miles on them. Still have the tire and it can be inspected.
When driving the truck at times the steering sticks to the left when making a left turn. The steering sticks around the 9-11 o'clock position on the steering wheel and will not return to center unless you turn the wheel yourself. You can feel the sticking when you bump the wheel toward 12 o'clock to return to center. It is definitely a safety issue and makes me extremely nervous while it is occurring. What if it will not allow me to correct the turning at some point it will cause an accident. I've had it at the garage and they said they could not reproduce the sticking when they were driving it. It does not occur at all times typically only happens after driving the truck for a little while >30 minutes or so. I purchased the truck in April 2022 and it has been occurring off and on since.
Driving off a small curb, and the 2 front airbags went off along with the seatbelt lock.
Rear window frame has cracked. Allows water into the cabin. Creates awful smell and wet seats. Water drips onto seat belt which will most likely cost it to not work properly over time.
Well the other day I could smell a strong odor coming from the hood of my 2019 Ram. I started feeling a little woozy and light headed from the amount of exhaust fumes coming from the engine. I later investigated the smell and found that the engine was also making a loud ticking noise as well. I decided to tear down the vehicle and found that both exhaust manifolds were cracked in the same exact spot. Now the only way something like that can occur is either bad design, bad casting at the factory, or bad material used in casting. That would make Ram 100 % responsible for this defect. I'm not a scientist, but I would have to think that those gases escaping into the atmosphere would not be passing through the catalytic converter. If our planet is in a global warming crises that can't be helping out our atmosphere at all. I think Ram needs to replace every vehicle that has the same issue immediately. If not, no telling what affects this is making on our planet and the safety of everyone on it. Also a cracked manifold can cause engine problems like overheating and I would think an over heated engine can cease up and stop running. Now if someone were traveling at a speed of 70mph and the engine overheated and locked up, could possibly cause a fatality!
The component and system that I am reporting is the failure of the instrument cluster. The instrument cluster will not illuminate preventing me the driver from receiving warnings about the vehicles systems and increasing the risk of a crash. I am in the process of setting up an appointment with a dealer to inspect the cluster. This occurred without warning. One day I went to start the truck and the cluster did not illuminate
3 things. 1 gas pedal light pressure causes the engine to rev up to 1000 rpm then back to 750 on flat surface speed goes from 4 mph to 14 mph. 2 ac issue when on floor or vents when it is raining or sun is not beaming on windshield it fogs up like defrost is on cold when not in defrost mode, causes visibility issue. 3 power mirror doesn't open or doesn't lock in position causing mirror to fold back in.
The instrument cluster often does not illuminate upon startup and as a result, the odometer, speed, parking sensors among other things do not alert me in the display. Some times upon starting the vehicle it starts up fine, other times it does not light up for a few minutes/miles than turns on, or does not turn on at all. There is currently a recall for this same issue "V83" for 2019 Ram 1500's, which is what I own, but I am told that my VIN was not listed in the recall. There is a lot of chatter online with others describing the same issue. I have not taken it to the dealer or had it inspected yet. This issue started a few months ago, is intermittent, but seems to now be happening every few startups.
While driving the vehicle the power steering went out which cause the car to become extremely difficult to steer. This is an electrically issue where a part failed and required to be replace.
The Rambox door randomly pops open fully while going down the road allowing items stored in the Rambox to come out of the compartment while traveling down the road. This poses a severe risk to the vehicles following behind my vehicle. I brought the truck in for service and was told that this is not a safety recall, which is incredulous to me. I was told that the cause of the failure was a remote switching device in the B pillar, which is obviously nothing that has been damaged by my use. Since this started happening to me, I have heard of two other drivers of trucks with the Rambox with this same incident. I believe both of those vehicles were 2020 Dodge trucks. This has happened multiple times to me, and they want over $400 to fix it!
For the 3rd time now, while driving my truck either taking off from a light or stopping, the truck quit running and says to shift to park to start aswell as my shifting light flashing “D”. Tried to park and restart and it fails to start. Had towed every time to dealership. Twice they couldn’t find anything and once, this last time found a faulty battery cell and replaced it. Ram great for a week, voltage looks great on my dash, still quit running.
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated while making a left turn, the warning message illuminated on the instrument panel stating to " Place vehicle in Park and place it back into Driver" and placed itself into neutral. The contact shifted the vehicle to park and shifted it back to the drive position and the vehicle operated normally. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis, and they replaced the shifter assembly, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, and they stated that PCM and TCM were updated, but the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 76,000.
Water leaking into roof from unknown source. Creating musty smell (mold). Concerns are: 1. Mold risk to consumer health. 2. Airbags/sensors being affected by water infiltration. 3. Potential electrical hazards associated with water infiltration.
when driving and having to turn my truck gets really hard to turn and gets stuck while turning making me stay in on coming lane for a bit
Driving home from work , as I slowed to turn on to the road that takes me home , I lost power steering, for a brief second I thought I was gonna crash into a on coming vehicle. It then came back and I was able to regain control. The power steering in getting increasingly worse and is happening all the time .there are no service lights displayed, but I am nervous to drive the vehicle. I have taken it to the dealership where the truck was purchased but they have directed me to an actual ram dealership, they said it will be covered under my manufacturer's warranty being that it only has 26,000 miles . This issue is becoming increasingly problematic and stressful since this is the only vehicle I have to drive . I work 1 hour away from home and I am becoming scared to drive it but have no alternative to get to and from work .
Shifting autocorrect to park when driving. The vehicle has to turned off and turned back on in order to work. This is a huge safety hazard as it is shifting on its own especially when I have my toddler in my car. I have taken it to the dealership multiple times in the past year with no fix. They just reset it. And it continues to happen again and again. Please fix it not a temporary fix. Also, I keep getting a message on the display that says service shifter. Also the parking sensors keep becoming unavailable
Power steering went out. Night of 4/7 I got a notice on the dash saying service power steering as I parked my truck. Morning of 4/8 I went out to take my truck to the dealership to have it looked at and power steering was completely gone. There is an open recall for the exact year model of my make and model however mine is not listed under the recall. After speaking with a Ram customer care rep they advised I reach out here and make an incident report as this may possibly fall under the recall however it was possibly a mistake made given my vehicle is somehow not covered.
