TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2008 SATURN AURA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 75 MPH, THE FRONT DRIVER'S SEAT SUPPORT BRACKET FRACTURED WHICH CAUSED THE SEAT TO MOVE FORWARD. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN CAUTIOUSLY TO THE RESIDENCE. IN ADDITION, THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED CONTINUOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 163,000.
TRANSMISSION STOPPED SHIFTING, COULD NOT GET ANY GEAR. MECHANIC SAYS IT IS THE TYPICAL 3-5-R WAVE PLATE ISSUE. *TR
RIGHT REAR LOCK STOPPED WORKING, REPLACED IT, THEN LEFT REAR STOPPED WORKING, NOW DRIVERS DOOR LOCKING PART TIME, SO THAT WILL SOON STOP. ON 5/25/14 WHEN DRIVING ON HIGHWAY ENTIRE INSTRUMENT PANEL STOPPED WORKING. AFTER KEY WAS TURNED OFF AND REMOVED IT RESET. THANK YOU *TR
NOTICED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ILLUMINATED ALL THE TIME REGARDLESS OF BRAKE PEDAL POSITION. *TR
I WAS DRIVING IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC ON THE INTERSTATE AT APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE POWER DECREASED ON MY VEHICLE AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. IN ADDITION, THE FOLLOWING MESSAGES KEPT APPEARING ON THE DASH MESSAGE SCREEN: SERVICE ESC.....SERVICE TRACTION.....ENGINE POWER REDUCED. WHEN I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY PULL OVER, I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND GOT OUT THE OWNER'S MANUAL. HOWEVER, I DID NOT SEE ANYTHING ABOUT ESC IN THE INDEX NOR DID I FIND A TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE. I STARTED THE CAR BACK UP AND THE MESSAGES WERE GONE BUT THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS STILL ON. I DROVE IT HOME AND KEPT A WATCH ON ALL OF THE GAUGES/LIGHTS AND IT SEEMED OKAY ALTHOUGH IT FELT LIKE IT WAS DRIVING DIFFERENTLY (LESS POWER), BUT IT COULD HAVE BEEN MY IMAGINATION. I AM CONCERNED BECAUSE IF I HAD BEEN GOING FASTER SOMEONE COULD HAVE RAN INTO ME FROM BEHIND. ALTHOUGH THIS CAR IS 7 YEARS OLD, IT WAS MY ELDERLY UNCLE'S AND ONLY HAD 15,000 MILES ON IT WHEN HE PASSED AWAY. I HAVE ONLY PUT 3,000 MILES ON IT SO THE CAR ONLY HAS 18,000 MILES ON IT. I ALREADY PLANNED TO TAKE IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE THE SUNROOF WAS LEAKING AND IT WAS REPAIRED A FEW MONTHS AGO; HOWEVER, IT IS LEAKING AGAIN.
I PULLED OVER ON THE EXPRESSWAY TO INVESTIGATE MY TMPS COMING ON FOR NO REASON, ONCE CHECKED AND FOUND NO ISSUES, I ATTEMPTED TO MERGE BACK ON THE EXPRESSWAY, BUT THE SPEEDOMETER SHOT TO 70 MPH AND WAS STUCK AS WELL AS THE REST OF MY GAUGES, THEY ALL SHOWED FAULTY READINGS, AND THE ISSUE WAS NOT SELF CORRECTING AFTER STARTING AND SHUTTING OFF THE VEHICLE REPEATEDLY. THE ONLY WAY TO FIX THE ISSUE WAS TO PULL THE FUSE CONTROLLING THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, THIS HAS BEEN A RECURRING ISSUE HAPPENING WHEN IT IS RAINING OR THE HUMIDITY IS HIGH. *TR
TRANSMISSION FAILURE SUDDENLY IN MY 08 SATURN AURA XE 6 SPEED AUTO/PADDLE SEDAN SYMPTOMS INCLUDE WITH OUT WARNING: SLIPPING IN FORWARD GEARS, NOT WORKING IN REVERSE AT ALL AND FINALLY NOT ENGAGING AT ALL WITH ENGINE REVVING IN TRAFFIC CAUSING A MAJOR TRAFFIC SAFETY PROBLEM AND NARROWLY AVOIDING AN ACCIDENT ALL IN ONE DAY WHILE ATTEMPTING TO REACH TRANSMISSION REPAIR SHOP. MY CAR HAS 99850 MILES ON IT AND THE 5 YEARS ELAPSED IN JANUARY OF THIS YEAR. ALTHOUGH THE CAR HAS BEEN VIGOROUSLY MAINTAINED WITH OIL CHANGES EVERY 3K, TRANSMISSION, BRAKE, AND ANTIFREEZE FLUIDS CHANGED ON SCHEDULE THIS FAILURE OCCURRED LIKE MANY OTHER HORRIFIED OWNERS ABOUT AS CLOSE AFTER EXPIRATION DATE AND MILEAGE AS ONE COULD POSSIBLE IMAGINE. I ASSUMED THAT MY AURA WOULD BE PERFORMING WELL UNTIL AT LEAST THE CAR WAS PAID FOR. NOW WITH BLUE BOOK FOR VALUE AND SUBTRACTING WHAT I STILL OWE AND ESTIMATED $4000 REPAIR THE OPTIONS ARE DISMAL. RESEARCHING ON LINE REVEALED A HOST OF PEOPLE PLAGUED BY THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH THEIR 6 SPEED AUTO/PADDLE TRANSMISSION IN 07-2010 SATURNS. CAN THE NHTSA BE OF ANY RELIEF VIA INTERCEDING WITH GENERAL MOTORS TO DO A RECALL OR PROVIDE DISPENSATION DUE TO THE EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD FOR SATURN DRIVERS BUT THE GENERAL PUBLIC AS WELL? *TR
ALL OF A SUDDEN MY STEERING WHEEL BECAME HARD TO TURN. I HAVE TO MANUALLY TURN MY WHEEL BACK STRAIGHT AFTER MAKING A TURN. I HAD MY USUAL OIL CHANGE COMPANY CHECK TO SEE IF IT WAS ANY POWER STEERING FLUID AND THERE WAS. *TR
DRIVERS SEAT BROKE DOWN ON RIGHT SIDE, CAUSING IT TO SLUMP TOWARDS THE CONSOLE. UPON TAKING IT TO THE DEALER TO SEEK REPAIR, WAS TOLD THAT THE WELDING OF THE SEAT UNIT HAD BROKEN. THE ENTIRE SEAT AND THE HOUSING BASE REQUIRE REPLACEMENT OVER $1000 TO FIX. WHILE IT DOESN'T REQUIRE FIXING TO OPERATE CAR, THE DANGER IS IN A CRASH, HAVING THE SEAT CATAPULT OUT ENTIRELY BEING AS IT IS NOT AFFIXED TO THE VEHICLE ANY MORE. YOU CAN WIGGLE IT UP AND DOWN FREELY, THIS COULD ALSO ALLOW THE SEAT TO THROW SOMEONE INTO THE AIR BAGS AS THEY DEPLOY, CAUSING INJURIES BECAUSE IT IS NOT FASTENED DOWN. AFTER RESEARCHING ONLINE, THIS VEHICLE MAKE AND MODEL IS PRONE TO THIS PROBLEM FOR THE FEW SHORT YEARS IT WAS MADE. WE FEEL THAT GM NEEDS TO UPDATE THIS SEAT PROBLEM, AND WHILE NOT SURE, THEY USE CHEV MALIBU REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR IT, SO THAT MODEL MAY ALSO BE EXPERIENCING THE PROBLEM FOR MORE DATA. A SEAT SHOULD BE INTACT, ATTACHED SAFELY TO THE VEHICLE WE WOULD THINK. NEVER HEARD OF SEATS BEING FREE OF THE BODY OF THE CAR WHILE DRIVING.
FIRST, LET ME START BY SAYING THAT I TRADED-IN FOR MY 2008 SATURN AURA IN APRIL 2011. SINCE THAT TIME, I HAVE HAD CONTINUOUS PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR. TODAY, MY CAR IS IN THE SHOP TO FIX THE BRAKE LIGHTS, CRUISE CONTROL, AND TRACTION/ESC. BRAKE LIGHTS: ON MY WAY HOME FRIDAY, A CONCERNED CITIZEN HAD ME ROLE DOWN MY WINDOW EN ROUTE TO TELL ME THAT MY BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON THE ENTIRE TIME I AM DRIVING. AFTER THIS WARNING, I DID SOME INVESTIGATION - SURE ENOUGH, THE LIGHTS ENGAGE WHEN THE BRAKE IS NOT BEING PUSHED. WORSE YET, THE BRAKE LIGHTS GO OFF WHEN THE BRAKE IS PUSHED. THANK GOODNESS FOR THE PERSON WHO ALERTED ME TO THIS. TRUTHFULLY, I AM LUCKY THAT I DID NOT GET REAR-ENDED OR GET A TICKET. I TRULY HOPE THE BRAKE LIGHT ISSUE IS RECALLED BECAUSE IT IS VERY DANGEROUS. CRUISE CONTROL: MY CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT WORK ALL THE TIME. SOMETIMES IT WORKS; SOMETIMES IT ENGAGES THEN RANDOMLY DISENGAGES; SOMETIMES IT JUST PLAIN DOES ENGAGE AT ALL. I CAN LIVE WITHOUT CRUISE CONTROL; HOWEVER, I REALLY DON'T THINK THIS SHOULD BE HAPPENING, AS THE VEHICLE IS NOT THAT OLD AND IS VERY WELL MAINTAINED. TRACTION/ESC: OCCASIONALLY, MY DASH WILL DISPLAY A WARNING THAT SAYS "SERVICE TRACTION, SERVICE ESC, ESC OFF." IT DOESN'T DO THIS EVERYDAY. IT JUST DISPLAYS THE WARNING AT RANDOM TIMES - I CANNOT DISTINGUISH A PATTERN. OVERALL, I AM VERY DISPLEASED WITH HOW THIS VEHICLE FUNCTIONS. NOT ONLY DOES IT COST ME MONEY TO FIX, IT TAKES TIME OUT OF MY DAY - I GET PAID HOURLY AT MY JOB. MY MAIN CONCERN IS THE BRAKES LIGHTS, AS SOMEONE COULD GET SERIOUSLY HURT, AND THE PROBLEM IS VERY DIFFICULT TO DETECT UNLESS ANOTHER MOTORIST WARNS YOU OR YOU DO NIGHT DRIVING (WHICH I DO NOT). TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 SATURN AURA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE POWER STEERING AND BRAKES FAILED. THE VEHICLE WOULD ALSO JERK AND FAIL TO ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
I CAME OUT TO GET IN MY CAR THIS MORNING AND THOUGHT IT WAS STRANGE MY HUSBAND HAD NOT CLOSED THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR. I GOT IN AND CLOSED THE DOOR AND IT POPPED OPEN, IT WOULD NOT LATCH. I TRIED NUMEROUS TIMES AND CHECK TO SEE IF ANYTHING WAS PREVENTING IT FROM LATCHING AND COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING. I PULLED IT SHUT AND MANUAL LOCKED THE DOOR AND IT STAYED LATCHED. I DROVE TO WORK, GOT OUT AND SHUT THE DOOR WITH NO ISSUE. I GOT IN THE CAR AGAIN, NO ISSUE. GOT OUT, WOULD NOT CLOSE, SO I PUSHED IT SHUT AND LOCKED WITH REMOTE, IS STAYED LATCHED, THEN I TRIED TO GET BACK IN, USING THE REMOTE, THE LOCK INSIDE THE DOOR POPPED UP LIKE IT HAD UNLOCKED, BUT THE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN. AFTER 4 ATTEMPTS I GOT IT TO OPEN. GOT IN AND DROVE, GOT OUT, DOOR WOULD NOT CLOSE. HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT TOMORROW. I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING IF THE DOOR COULD POP OPEN AT ANY TIME! *TR
THIS IS MY SECOND COMPLAINT ON HERE FOR THE SAME BRAKE LIGHT ISSUE. I HAD TROUBLE WITH MY CAR BRAKE LIGHTS WORKING BACKWARDS (ON WHEN DRIVING, OFF WHEN BRAKING) ABOUT TWO YEARS AGO, HAD THEM FIXED AND THEY WORKED FOR ABOUT EIGHT MONTHS AND THEN STOPPED WORKING AGAIN. I TOOK THEM TO A CERTIFIED GM SERVICE STATION ON 4/5/2013 TO HAVE THEM FIXED FOR THE SECOND TIME. I PICKED UP MY CAR FROM SAID REPAIRS ON 4/8/2013 TO ONLY FIND THAT ON 4/11/13 THE BRAKE LIGHTS WERE WORKING BACKWARDS AGAIN. I TOOK MY VEHICLE BACK TO THE SAME GM SERVICE STATION TO HAVE THEM RE-RE-REPAIRED ON 4/13/13 AND PICKED THE CAR UP THE SAME DAY. ON 4/14/13 I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE LIGHTS WORKING BACKWARDS LESS THAN 24 HOURS AFTER THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO BE FIXED FOR THE 3RD TIME! SO I WILL TAKE MY CAR BACK TO THE GM CENTER ON 4/15/15 TO HAVE THE BRAKE LIGHTS RE-RE-RE-RE REPAIRED. THE CERTIFIED SERVICE CENTER CLOSEST TO ME IS ABOUT 30 MILES AWAY SO EVERYTIME I GO TO GET THEM FIXED TWO VEHICLES HAVE TO DRIVE THE ROUND TRIP (1 VEHICLE TWICE AND MY VEHICLE ONCE). IT IS RIDICULOUS TO HAVE TO PAY THE EXORBITANT GAS PRICES BECAUSE THE PEOPLE AT GM ARE APPARENTLY ICOPATENT (WHICH HAS BEEN CORROBORATED BY THERE INABILITY TO MAKE A SAFETY RELATED REPAIR) THE US GOVERNMENT MUST FORCE GM TO RECALL THE VEHICLES AFFECTED BY THESE FAULTY BREAK LIGHTS AND FORCE THEM TO FIND A SOLUTION THAT WILL FIX THE POTENTIAL DANGEROUS PROBLEM. THE THING IRRITATING ME MOST IS THAT THEY ARE NOT EVEN TRYING TO FIND A PROBLEM THAT WILL ACTUALY CORRECT THE FAULTY EQUIPMENT. AT THIS POINT I WILL EVEN BE WILLING TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS IF THEY WILL JUST FIND A PERMENANT SOLUTION! SIGNED, VERY UPSET WITH THE QUALITY OF AMERICAN MADE VEHICLES! *TR
I PURCHASED MY 2008 SATURN AURA IN MAY 2012. I STARTED NOTICING THAT MY BRAKE LIGHT IN REAR WINDOW WOULD COME ON BY ITSELF WITHOUT BRAKING AND WOULD STAY ON FOR PERIODS OF TIME. A T FIRST IT DIDN'T BOTHER ME, BUT LATELY IT HAS BECOME FREQUENT. THE LIGHT WOULD COME ON AND STAY ON EVEN WHEN CRANKING THE CAR UP. IT ALSO COMES ON WHILE DRIVING, DOESN'T MATTER THE SPEED LIMIT IT STILL COMES ON AND STAYS ON FOR A PERIOD OF TIME. IT IS VERY MISLEADING BECAUSE IN THE MIDDLE OF FLOWING TRAFFIC THE LIGHT WILL COME ON GIVING THE DRIVER BEHIND ME THE IMPRESSION THAT I AM BREAKING. ALSO WHEN THE LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED, CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT WORK. I AM VERY CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY AND OTHERS SAFETY AT THIS POINT BECAUSE IT HAPPENS SO FREQUENTLY AND I HAVE HAD A DRIVER TO BECOME VERY IRATE WITH ME BECAUSE OF MY BRAKE LIGHT COMING ON GIVING THE IMPRESSION THAT I AM BRAKING. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 SATURN AURA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHTS ILLUMINATED INDEPENDENTLY WITHOUT THE BRAKES BEING ENGAGED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. AS A PRECAUTION, THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE BRAKE SWITCH HOWEVER, THE REMEDY FAILED TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 85,000. *TR
I PURCHASED AND 08 AURA ABOUT 1.5 YEARS AGO FOR MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER. OTHER THAN A FEW MINOR PROBLEMS THE CAR WAS FINE. A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO SHE EXPERIENCED A DEAD BATTERY AND WAS ABLE TO HAVE A FRIEND "JUMP START" THE CAR AND AS FOR THE BATTERY, IT HAS BEEN FINE SINCE. THE PROBLEM WAS THAT THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR SYSTEM (TPMS) WAS INOPERATIVE AND WOULD NOT RESET MANUALLY. THESE TPMS, I BELIEVE, CAME ABOUT DUE TO THE INABILITY TO BE ABLE TO VISUALLY SEE THAT A TIRE IS "LOW" WITH TODAYS "RUN FLAT', LOW PROFILE, AND STIFFER SIDEWALL, TIRES AND THAT THE MAJORITY OF DRIVERS DO NOT KNOW HOW TO CHECK TIRE PRESSURE ANYWAY. I WAS THEREFORE CONCERNED ABOUT MY DAUGHTERS SAFETY AS WELL AS OTHER THAT COULD BE INVOLVED IN A CRASH THAT RESULTED FROM POOR HANDLING OR WORSE, AN OVERHEATED TIRE AND BLOWOUT. I DID SOME SEARCHING AND DISCOVERED THAT GM HAD ISSUED A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN (TSB) EXPLAINING THAT THE TPMS FAILURE WAS DUE TO A "LOW VOLTAGE" INCIDENT THAT CAUSES THE CONTROL MODULE TO LOSE MEMORY. THE FIX, ACCORDING TO THE TSB, WAS TO REPROGRAM THE MODULE WITH UPDATED SOFTWARE. THIS BEING A KNOWN CONDITION AND SAFETY CONCERN, I DID NOT EXPECT TO HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. I CONTACTED GM WHO REFUSED TO COVER THE REPAIR AND I ULTIMATELY PAID ABOUT $60. MY CONCERN IS THAT THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN ON MULTIPLE VEHICLES FROM GM INCLUDING MOST OF THE 08 SATURN LINE AS WELL AS THE PONTIAC G5 AND G6, AND CHEVY COBALT. I ALSO FOUND THAT NHTSA FOUND REASON FOR RECALL ON SOME GM SUV'S A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO DUE TO A PROGRAMMING ERROR ON THE TPMS WHICH IS WHAT THIS IS. AS THESE 08 CARS AGE THEY ARE NOW REACHING THE EXPECTED LIFE OF THEIR BATTERY AND REPLACING THEM WHICH IS CAUSING THE TPMS SYSTEM TO BE INOPERATIVE. I BELIEVE THAT GM SHOULD FOR SAKE OF THE SAFETY OF THEIR CUSTOMERS RECALL THESE AFFECTED CARS AND PREVENT FUTURE ACCIDENTS. SOME MAY HAVE ALREADY HAPPENED. *TR
THE BACK RIGHT WELD ON THE DRIVER'S SEAT FRAME BROKE, CAUSING THE SEAT TO TILT TOWARD THE CENTER OF THE CAR. IN ADDITION TO BEING UNCOMFORTABLE, I CANNOT BELIEVE HAVING A SEAT THAT IS NOT FULLY ATTACHED TO THE FRAME WOULD BE SAFE WERE I TO BE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON SEVERAL SITES REGARDING THE SAME ISSUE OF THE FAULTY WELDS ON THE DRIVER'S SEAT. I'M SURPRISED TO FIND THERE HASN'T BEEN A RECALL YET. ALSO HAVING ISSUES WITH THE AIRBAG SENSORS, FOR WHICH I AM ALSO SEEING MANY SIMILAR COMPLAINTS. *TR
REGARDLESS OF HOW FAST I AM DRIVING, WHETHER 35 MPH OR 60 MPH, MY BRAKE LIGHTS OPERATE IN A REVERSE MANNER. AS I APPLY MY BRAKES, THE BRAKE LIGHTS TURN OFF. ON THE OTHER HAND, WHEN I RELEASE MY BRAKES, THE BRAKES LIGHTS COMES ON. THIS CAUSES A DISTRACTION AND A DANGER TO ME AND THE TRAFFIC BEHIND ME. THE ISSUE OCCURS OFTEN AND SPORADICALLY. I HAVE NOTICED A PATTERN; WHEN THIS ISSUE OCCURS MY SERVICE ESC LIGHT COMES ON AND MY TRACTION TURNS OFF. *TR
POPPING NOISE WHILE SLOW SPEED TURNING FIRST REPORTED TO A LOCAL GM DEALER IN 2/13. DEALER CONFIRMED SHAFT WAS DEFECTIVE BUT DIDN'T THINK IT WAS DANGEROUS YET, SO WAS NOT REPAIRED. AFTER LEARNING IN 7/14 THAT GM HAD JUST ISSUED A RECALL ON THESE SHAFTS, (NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 14E044000), I RETURNED TO THE SAME DEALER TO FINALLY GET IT REPLACED. SERVICE MANAGER AGAIN STATED THAT THE INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT WAS DEFECTIVE. HOWEVER, GM MANAGEMENT HAS STEADFASTLY REFUSED TO ALLOW THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO REPLACE MY UNIT BECAUSE MY VEHICLE'S VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE THEIR LIST OF RECALL ELIGIBLE MODELS! *TR
CAR BEGAN GROANING LOUDLY WHEN WHEEL IS TURNED TO THE RIGHT (EITHER PARKED OF MOVING), STEERING FEELS "JUMPY" TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO REPLACED A STRUT AND CHARGED ME FOR IT, THEN I TOOK IT BACK AND THEY REPLACED THE INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT AND CHARGED MY WARRANTY. AT FIRST, MY 08 SATURN AURA'S DRIVERS SEAT STOPPED WORKING, AND I COULD NO LONGER MOVE IT. I ASSUMED THE FUSE WAS OUT, SO I REPLACED IT. WITHIN ONE DAY, MY SEAT STOPPED WORKING AGAIN. I WENT TO SOMEONE AND THEY SUGGESTED I TRY A FUSE WITH A HIGHER VOLTAGE. THEY PLACED THE FUSE FOR ME AND MY SEAT WORKED FOR A MOMENT AND THEN BLEW THE FUSE. I COULDN'T AFFORD TO TAKE MY CAR TO THE DEALER AND HAVE THEM RUN A DIAGNOSTIC, SO I DECIDED TO DEAL WITH MY SEAT NOT BEING ABLE TO MOVE. A COUPLE MONTHS AFTER THE FIRST INCIDENT, THE BACKSEAT DOOR BEHIND THE DRIVERS SIDE WOULD NOT UNLOCK OR LOCK EVERY TIME BY PRESSING THE UNLOCK BUTTON. THEN, THE DRIVER'S DOOR STOPPED LOCKING AND UNLOCKING. SO EVERY TIME I GET OUT OF MY CAR AND HIT THE BUTTON TO LOCK MY DOORS, I HAVE TO PUSH THE ACTUAL LOCK DOWN ON THE DRIVER'S DOOR, AND THEN I HAVE TO OPEN THE BACK DOOR AND PUSH THAT LOCK DOWN. THE MOST RECENT INCIDENT IS THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEADLIGHT AND BLINKER. WHEN MY BLINKER AND HEADLIGHT FIRST WENT OUT I DID NOT THINK MUCH OF IT, SO I REPLACED THE BULBS. A DAY OR TWO LATER, THE BLINKER AND HEADLIGHT WERE OUT AGAIN. I REPLACED THE BULBS A SECOND TIME, BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT MAY HAVE JUST BEEN A BAD PRODUCT I BOUGHT. THE BLINKER AND HEADLIGHT WORKED AGAIN AND THEN STOPPED A DAY LATER. SOME MORNINGS I GET LUCKY AND MY DOORS WILL UNLOCK OR LOCK AND SOMETIMES MY BLINKER AND HEADLIGHT WILL WORK, BUT BY THE TIME I GET TO WHERE I AM GOING THEY WILL STOP WORKING AGAIN. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE BY ENGAGING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE SHIFT CABLE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THREE MONTHS LATER THE VEHICLE BECAME STUCK IN REVERSE. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE SHIFT CABLE WAS REPLACED AGAIN. FOUR MONTHS LATER AFTER PUTTING THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND EXITING THE VEHICLE, IT BEGAN TO ROLL AWAY IN REVERSE AND ONCE AGAIN, WAS STOPPED BY ENGAGING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. THE CONTACT WAS NOTIFIED OF A RECALL FOR THE FAILURE UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 12V460000 (POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:GEAR POSITION INDICATION (PRNDL)). A DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT HER VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 66,000.
