the passenger seat air bag sensor was recalled. I took the car to dealer and they said they fixed the recall. now 3 years later, if a passenger sits in the seat the light comes on saying air bag sensor is ON one second later the light says the air bag sensor is OFF and the red air bag light in the dash comes on. -Should GM be responsible to repair it again at no charge ?
The contact owns a 2008 Saturn Sky. The contact stated that the air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the module kit, the OCS sensor, and the four retainers were faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V061000 (Air Bags); however, the vehicle had experienced the failure stated in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.
2008 saturn sky the key keeps getting stuck and cannot remove unless manual button under steering wheel is pushed and pull the key at same time only way to release key now Is anyone else having problem is there a recall?
Had recall# 17036 performed for PPS system and dealer could not clear fault codes after adding tape to the PPS seat. Saturn SKY - Passenger presence system (PPS) Knapp Chevy claimed to have fixed Completed: 2020-10-31, but warning lights appeared and took the car in to check. Now, this issue is not covered and requires a 1200 dollar charge, which should be covered in the recall.
When pressing on the brakes in reverse, they fail to stop the resistance is very hard, like stepping on a brick, and it does nothing to slow the vehicle. I had to throw the emergency brake on and put the car in gear in order to stop it from rolling backwards.

DURING A LOW VOLTAGE CONDITION THE PROGRAMMING FOR THE TPMS AND SECURITY FEATURES WAS LOST. 2ND TIME IT HAPPENED. DEALER SAYS IT IS A DESIGN PROBLEM THAT REQUIRES SOFTWARE UPDATE. I PAID ONCE FOR THE UPDATE BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTS.
I AM TRYING TO REPLACE THE TURBOCHARGED UNIT BUT ALL 3 PURCHASE HAD AN INTERNAL CRACK. IS THIS A COMMON PROBLEM UNKNOWN BY CONSUMERS? SHOULD I BE WORRIED THAT THIS PROBLEM WILL CONTINUE?
WHEN FIRST STARTING ENGINE IN THE MORNING OR AFTER VEHICLE SITS FOR A BIT, THE BREAKS LITERALLY DO NOT WORK. THE 2008 SATURN SKY HAS A SAFETY DEFECT WHEREBY THE TPMS (TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM) BECOMES INOPERATIVE DURING GENERAL MAINTENANCE. THE TIRE PRESSURE DISPLAY WILL NOT DISPLAY ANY TIRE PRESSURE DATA WHILE THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY OR MOVING. WHEN THE VEHICLE BATTERY IS REPLACED THE RCDLR (REMOTE CONTROL DOOR LOCK LOCK RECEIVER MODULE) LOSES ITS KEYLESS ENTRY TRANSMITTER AND TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING DATA. THE RCDLR WILL NO LONGER RECEIVE DATA FROM THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSORS IN EACH TIRE RENDERING THE SYSTEM INOPERATIVE. SINCE VEHICLE BATTERY REPLACEMENT IS A NORMAL MAINTENANCE ITEM I DO NOT BELIEVE THIS SAFETY SYSTEM (TPMS) SHOULD BECOME INOPERATIVE WHEN PERFORMING THAT MAINTENANCE TASK. GENERAL MOTORS IS AWARE OF THE CONDITION AND HAS AUTHORED BULLETIN #08-03-16-001B TO CORRECT THE ISSUE AT OWNER EXPENSE. I BELIEVE THE FAILURE OF THIS SAFETY SYSTEM SHOULD BE COVERED BY A RECALL.
THIS IS A CONTINUATION OF THE DESCRIPTION OF THE "TPMS SYSTEM INOPERATIVE" FOR THE SAME VIN. WHEN THE VEHICLE BATTERY IS REPLACED AS PART OF NORMAL MAINTENANCE THE TPMS SYSTEM FAILS TO WORK. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN ACKNOWLEDGED BY GENERAL MOTORS IN BULLETIN 08-03-16-001B. FURTHERMORE, THE TPMS SYSTEM FAILURE IS NOT INDICATED TO THE DRIVER THROUGH ANY WARNING INDICATOR. THE DRIVER WOULD BE UNAWARE OF A TIRE WITH LOW PRESSURE IN THIS SITUATION, POTENTIALLY RESULTING IN HARM.

GM RECALL 17036 - PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR DEFECT. MY SENSOR FAILED ON 6/8/2018. THE LOCAL DEALER CONFIRMED THE FAILURE AND ORDERED PARTS UNDER THE RECALL ON 6/15/2018. AS OF TODAY, 7/18/2018, THE PART IS STILL NOT AVAILABLE AND NO ETA IS PROVIDED. GM REFUSES TO REIMBURSE ME IF I HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED OR PROVIDE THEM WITH A GENUINE GM PART FOR THEM TO PROVIDE THE REPAIR. THIS IS A RECALL THAT IS NOT BEING ADDRESSED BY GM AND I AM LEFT WITH AN UNSAFE CAR AND NO ETA ON REPAIR.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE HARRY GREEN DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE THERMOSTAT AND THERMOSTAT HOUSING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS UNDETERMINED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING, OIL WAS LEAKING FROM THE VEHICLE, AND THE COOLANT WAS NOT IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO ANOTHER INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THEY STATED THAT THE OIL PRESSURE NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED, THE VALVE TIMING WAS NOT IN SYNC WITH THE PISTON, AND THE INTAKE CAM SHAFT WAS OVER ADVANCED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 106,000.

MY CAR WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY ON AN INCLINE, EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS SET. MY CAR ROLLED DOWN THE DRIVEWAY AND OFF AN EMBANKMENT. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS STILL UP WHEN IT STOPPED. THE CAR WAS A TOTAL LOSS.

RECEIVED MULTIPLE RECALL NOTICE. CONTACTED THE 800 NO. THEY GAVE ME LOCAL GM DEALER WHO TOLD ME THEY DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS RECALL!? THE RECALL REFERENCE NO IS 17036. WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW?
TAKATA RECALL-I CALLED MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE RECALL REPAIRED IN MAY 2017. I WAS TOLD THE PARTS WERE IN AND WAS ALLOWED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN AS SCHEDULED, WAITED IN THE WAITING ROOM ABOUT 10-15 MINUTES TO BE TOLD THEY "MADE A MISTAKE" AND THE PARTS WEREN'T AVAILABLE YET. I GAVE THEM MY PHONE NUMBER FOR THEM TO CALL WHEN THE PARTS WERE IN AND HAVE NOT HEARD FROM THEM YET. SINCE THEN I HAVE RECEIVED 2 NOTICES REGARDING THE RECALL. I HAVE CALLED AGAIN (6 MONTHS LATER) AND NOW THEY ARE SAYING THE CAR WAS REPAIRED. I WAS ALSO TOLD THE RECALL WAS CLOSED "MANUALLY." THE RECALL SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN CLOSED BECAUSE REPAIRS WERE NOT MADE TO THE VEHICLE. AGAIN THEY ARE GOING TO CALL ME BACK. I HAVE RECEIVED THE SECOND LETTER IN REGARDS TO THE 17036 RECALL ON THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT NOT WORKING. ACCORDING TO THE WEBSITE AND THE DEALER A FIX ISN'T AVAILABLE, BUT ACCORDING TO THE LETTER AND CUSTOMER SERVICE AT SATURN A TEMPORARY FIX IS. I HAVE BEEN GETTING THE RUN AROUND WITH SATURN THEY CALL THE DEALERSHIP AND SET ME UP WITH AN APPOINTMENT AND WHEN I WENT THERE THE DEALER HAD NO AVAILABLE INFORMATION FOR THIS RECALL. CALLED SATURN AGAIN TODAY AND GOT THE SAME STORY SHE CALLED THE DEALER AND SAID THEY WOULD CALL ME RIGHT BACK AFTER THEY ORDER THE PART. THE DEALER DID CALL ME RIGHT BACK BUT SAID THE PART WASN'T AVAILABLE YET FOR THEM TO ORDER AND TO WAIT UNTIL I GET THE FINAL NOTICE. I AM TIRED OF SATURN GIVING ME THE WRONG INFORMATION AND BEING SENT ON A WILD GOOSE CHASE. MY LIGHT ISN'T WORKING AT THIS TIME SO I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IMPACT THAT HAS ON THE AIRBAG WHETHER IT WOULD DEPLOY OR NOT IF I NEEDED IT. I HOPE WE NEVER HAVE TO FIND THIS OUT THE HARD WAY.

MY 2008 SATURN SKY WITH 38982 MILES HAS THE PASSENGER PRESENCE SENSOR FAILS, P/N 19124219. THE AIRBAG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE BECOMES DISABLED , THE PARTS COST $400 AND THE DEALER IS CHARGING ME $200 FOR REPROGRAMING. IT LOOKS LIKE TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM ON THESE CARS
THE PASSENGER SEAT SENSOR FOR THE AIR BAG FAILED. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN REPORTED BEFORE. THIS SHOULD BE UNDER RECALL. WITH THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS THAT YOU HAVE RECEIVED WHY HAS THEN NOT HAPPENED.

PASSENGER PRESENCE SENSOR IS BROKEN. NOW, AIRBAG IS INACTIVE NO MATTER IF SOMEONE IS SITTING IN THE SEAT.
MY CARS AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND IT WOULD NOT PASS STATE INSPECTION DUE TO THE PASSENGER MODULE SENSOR. I HAD TO PAY OVER 900 DOLLARS TO GET IT FIXED. I HAVE HEARD MULTIPLY PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE. THEREFORE I THINK THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL. I DID NOTHING TO CAUSE THIS FAILURE TO HAPPEN YET I AM RESPONSIBLE TO PAY FOR IT.
