CONTINUAL ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTIONS, MOST RECENT WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAILED TO OPERATE DURING HEAVY RAIN STORM WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. MY CAR IS THREE YEARS OLD. I HAVE HAD 8 TRIPS TO DEALER TO ADDRESS THESE "MODULAR COMPONENT" ISSUES. THE DEALER HAS MADE REPAIRS, LONGEST TIME DEALER KEPT CAR WAS 25 DAYS TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO REPAIR. MY CAR JUST REACHED 36000 MILES AND SATURN CUSTOMER CARE REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEGE THIS CAR IS A SAFETY HAZARD SHOULD ANOTHER COMPONENT FAIL WHILE DRIVING.*DT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN VUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT FROM PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE IGNITION TUMBLERS AND WIRES WERE DEFECTIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000.
MY 6 DAY OLD SATURN VUE - HYBRID HAD 242 MILES ON IT WHEN THE LOW BATTERY LIGHT WENT ON. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS WENT ON, THEN THE ABS, TRACTION CONTROL, AND PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED. I WAS ABLE TO GET TO THE DEALERS, COASTED IN TO THEIR SHOP. THE NEW CAR SAT THERE FOR 12 DAYS BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT. THE STARTER/ GENERATOR CONTROL MODULE HAD TO BE REPLACED. IT HAD TO COME FROM AN OUTSIDE SUPPLIER, WHO CLAIMED TO HAVE SHIPPED IT, BUT HAD NO TRACKING NUMBER, AND SUPPOSEDLY IT COULD NOT BE FOUND. IT FINALLY ARRIVED AFTER THE CAR WAS IN THE SHOP FOR 12 DAYS AND WAS INSTALLED.*AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN VUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE LEFT THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR SLIGHTLY AJAR. WHEN SHE TOUCHED THE DOOR, ALL THE VEHICLE DOORS LOCKED. THE KEY WAS IN THE VEHICLE BUT NOT IN THE IGNITION. THE CONTACT CALLED ON STAR TO UNLOCK THE DOOR, BUT THEIR SYSTEM WAS SHOWING THAT THE DOORS WERE UNLOCKED. THE POLICE WERE CALLED BECAUSE A CHILD WAS IN THE VEHICLE. THE DOORS UNLOCKED AUTOMATICALLY. THE DEALER RESET THE LOCKS BUT DID NOT KNOW WHAT TRIGGERED THE FAILURE. THE ENGINE SIZE WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 8,000. UPDATED 06/08/07 *TR
PASSENGER AIR BAG FAILS TO ACKNOWLEDGE LIGHTWEIGHT PASSENGERS THOUGH THEY ARE OVER 100 POUNDS. FAILURE OF ABOUT 85% OF THE TIME NOTED SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASE. AT FIRST THE SATURN DEALER IN GRESHAM SAID THEY WOULD DO NOTHING ABOUT IT, THEN MAKING IT CLEAR THIS WAS NOT ACCEPTABLE THEY REPLACED THE SENSOR. BEFORE LONG THE SAME PROBLEM OCCASIONAL OCCURRED, NOW IT HAS BECOME OVER 50% OF THE TIME. SOMETIMES GOING OFF AFTER DRIVING A WHILE, SOMETIMES CYCLING OFF AND ON. *TR
MY SATURN HYBRID VUE HAS HAD SEVERAL "INCIDENTS" SINCE IT'S PURCHASE. THE FIRST WAS AT AROUND 800 MILES. THE VEHICLE STALLED AND COULD NOT BE STARTED FOR SEVERAL MINUTES. ALL ENGINE AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS WERE ON. WHEN IT FINALLY STARTED, IT JERKED SEVERELY AND LUNGED FORWARD SEVERAL TIMES. HAD ANOTHER VEHICLE OR A PEDESTRIAN BEEN IN FRONT OF ME THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN HIT. I HAD THE CAR TOWED INTO SATURN SERVICE. THERE WERE SEVERAL PROBLEM CODES IN ECM. THEY SAID IT WAS A CHAFFED WIRE THAT NEEDED TO INSULATED. AT AROUND 1,200 MILES THE JERKING HAPPENED AGAIN. OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF MONTHS THERE WOULD BE EPISODES OF WHERE THE ENGINE LIGHTS OR TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS CAME ON AND IT WOULD STALL BUT THEN IT WOULD DRIVE FAIRLY NORMAL. I CHECKED WITH ONSTAR TO DO A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK AND THEY SAID EVERY THING SEEMED OK. I COMPLAINED TO THE SATURN DEALER BUT THE PROBLEM SEEMED TO BE PERSISTENT BUT INTERMITTENT. I BEGAN TO FEAR DRIVING THE VEHICLE, ESPECIALLY WITH MY GRANDCHILDREN IN IT. ALL DURING THIS TIME THE MILEAGE WAS VERY LOW (ESPECIALLY FOR A HYBRID). THREE MONTH'S SINCE ITS FIRST FAILURE I TOOK THE SATURN VUE INTO SERVICE WITH ALL THE ENGINES LIGHTS ON -- THEY FOUND PROBLEMS WITH STARTER GENERATOR, AND THE CHARGING AND AUTOSTOP SYSTEMS RELATED TO THE 12 V AND 36 VOLT BATTERIES. THEY REPLACED THE ENGINE WIRING HARNESS. NOW IT IS ONE MONTH LATER AND IT IS GOING BACK INTO SERVICE FOR LUNGING FORWARD AT A STOP SIGN, AND FOR ANSWERS ABOUT WHY I GET SUCH LOW MPG (22). *TR
I HAVE LESS THAN 12,000 MILES ON THIS CAR AND IT HAS REPEATEDLY BEEN IN THE SHOP. THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN REPLACED, ALL ELECTRICAL SUDDENLY DIES, THE HYBRID HAS STOPPED WORKING SEVERAL TIMES. THE AIRBAGS HAVE HAD TO BE FIXED. THERE IS A CONSTANT PROBLEM. *TR
TL* - THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN VUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT A CLIP BROKE ON THE GEAR SHIFT IN THE CENTER OF THE FLOOR BOARD. THE CONTACT WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS A FLUKE. WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY THE VEHICLE STOPPED, AND HAD TO BE PUSHED OFF THE FREEWAY. THE WEATHER WAS VERY NICE THAT DAY. THE VEHICLE WAS BEING REPAIRED AS OF 3/9/07, AND WAS UNDER WARRANTY. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE BOTH 1,207.*AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN VUE. THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING IN REVERSE AND WOULD NOT RESTART. THE CHECK ENGINE, TRACTION CONTROL AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS CAME ON. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 935. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AND THE DEALER , WHO STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO DIRT IN THE THROTTLE ASSEMBLY. ON A SEPARATE OCCASION, WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED ON A BUSY HIGHWAY. THE LOW POWER, TRACTION CONTROL, AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS CAME ON. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THERE WAS A LOOSE WIRE IN THE IGNITION MODULE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1342. THE VEHICLE STALLED AGAIN , AND ALL OF THE WARNING INDICATOR LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE DEALERWAS CURRENTLY DIAGNOSING THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 935, AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 1400. *AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN VUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG LIGHT DOES NOT ILLUMINATE WHEN A PASSENGER IS SEATED. SHE WAS LOCKED IN THE VEHICLE FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. ONCE SHE RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, THE DOORS UNLOCKED. THE SATURN DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE PURCHASE DATE AND A VALID VIN WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 12,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,000.
I BOUGHT A SATURN VUE HYBRID IN SEPTEMBER, WITH IN TWO HOURS THE DRIVER SEAT BACK LUMBAR MECHANISM FEEL APART WHEN A CAR PARKED TO CLOSE FORCED ME TO WORM MY WAY IN THE DOOR. IT WAS FIXED SEVERAL TIMES AND SATURN OF LIBERTYVILLE, USING SLIP TIES TO FINALLY HOLD IT TOGETHER. WITH THE HELP OF SATURN CUSTOMER SERVICE I WENT TO ANOTHER DEALER, PARTS ARE ON ORDER. MY BACK BEING BROKEN THREE TIMES REAR ENDED STOPPED AT LIGHTS, MY BACK DID NOT FEEL GOOD RIDING IN THE BROKEN SEAT FOR A MONTH. SATURN TELLS ME ALL WARRANTIES ETC. ARE VOID IF I HAVE A SAFE SEAT, RECAR OTHODEIC, I WILL NOT RIDE IN AN UNSAFE SEAT WHEN IT IS SO EASY TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. IF ANY PERSON GETS REAR ENDED AT MORE THAN ABOUT TEN MILE PER HOUR THEY WILL HAVE BACK INJURIES. HAVING ATTENDED COLLEGE FOR ME.BS. AND EE. BS. I WILL NOT BE PLAYED FOR A FOOL BY ANY CAR COMPANY. 2007 SATURN VUE WAS SERVICED BECAUSE OF THE CHECK ENGINE AND BATTERY LIGHTS ILLUMINATING. DEALER REPLACED AND FIXED SEVERAL PROBLEMS. CONSUMER WAS STILL NOT HAPPY WITH THE WAY THE VEHICLE RAN. *KB THE CONSUMER STATED THE RADIO WAS REPLACED FOR THE THIRD TIME, AND THERE WAS EVEN MORE WIND NOISE FROM THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WITH THE NEW RUBBER SEAL. THE CONSUMER ALSO STATED MAJOR LOSS OF POWER, ROUGH UPSHIFTING, DOUBLE DOWNSHIFTING WHILE BRAKING AND POOR FUEL ECONOMY. THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD A NEW CALIBRATION WAS MADE TO THE PCM AS PART OF THE CORRECTION MADE ALONG WITH THE WIRING HARNESS TO MAKE THE CHECK ENGINE AND BATTERY LIGHTS GO OFF. *TR
