Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2014-2016 Toyota 4Runner, 2014-2015 Scion xB, Lexus IS350C, IS250C, 2014 Toyota Sienna, Lexus IS-F, and 2014-2017 Lexus GX460 vehicles sold, or ever registered in the states of Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Texas, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands (Saipan), and the U.S. Virgin Islands or "Zone A." Toyota is also recalling certain 2011-2013 Toyota Corolla, Corolla Matrix, Lexus IS250, IS350, 2011-2016 4Runner, 2011-2015 Scion xB, Lexus IS350C, IS250C, 2011-2014 Toyota Sienna, Lexus IS-F, 2011-2017 Lexus GX460, and 2011-2012 Lexus ES350 vehicles ever registered in the states of Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia or "Zone B." These vehicles are equipped with air bag inflators assembled as part of the passenger frontal air bag modules, used as original equipment or replacement equipment (such as after a vehicle crash necessitating replacement of the original air bags), that may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, temperature and temperature cycling.
Remedy Status
Toyota will notify owners. Depending on the vehicle model, dealers will replace the front passenger air bag inflator, or replace the air bag assembly. The recall began February 15, 2019. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are "Zone A" Toyota: G0P, Lexus: GLG; "Zone B" Toyota: G0R, Lexus GLH; "Zone C" Toyota: H0A, and Lexus: HLA.

In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the passenger frontal air bag, these inflators may rupture due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to absolute humidity and temperature cycling.
Remedy Status
Toyota will notify the Toyota, Scion and Lexus owners. General Motors will contact the Pontiac owners. Depending on the model, dealers will replace the passenger frontal air bag inflator or the air bag assembly, free of charge. The recall began on February 1, 2017. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331, or Pontiac customer service at 1-800-762-2737. Toyota's numbers for final remedy for this campaign are G0P (Toyota Zone A), G0R (Toyota Zone B), H0A (Toyota Zone C), GLG (Lexus Zone A), GLH (Lexus Zone B) and HLA (Lexus Zone C).
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain Toyota Racing Development (TRD) brake kits, part numbers PTR09-21111 and PTR09-52080, sold by Toyota as an optional accessory for model year 2008-2015 Scion xB, and 2011-2016 Scion tC vehicles. Over time, the brake hoses in these kits may fatigue and fail.
Remedy Status
Toyota will notify all known owners of the Scion xB and Scion tC vehicles upon which an involved optional TRD Brake Kit could have been installed. If the vehicle is equipped with one of the TRD brake kits, it will be replaced with a standard equipment brake kit, free of charge. The recall began November 16, 2018. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-888-270-9371. Toyota's number for this recall is J0U.
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2010-2016 4Runner, 2003-2006 Tundra, 2003-2013 Corolla, 2009-2010 Corolla Matrix, 2004-2005 RAV4, 2002-2007 Sequoia, 2011-2013 Sienna, 2008-2012 Scion xB, 2008-2009 Lexus IS-F, 2007-2012 Yaris and Lexus ES350, 2010-2017 Lexus GX460, 2002-2010 Lexus SC430, 2006-2012 Lexus IS250 and IS350 and 2010-2015 Lexus IS250C and IS350C vehicles. These vehicles had their driver or passenger frontal air bag inflators previously replaced under a prior recall using inflators of the same design. The inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, temperature and temperature cycling.
Remedy Status
Toyota will notify owners. Depending on the vehicle model, dealers will replace the front driver inflator, front passenger airbag inflator, the airbag assembly, or the front passenger airbag sub-assembly and inflator. The recall began November 20, 2019. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-888-270-9371 or Lexus customer service at 1-800-255-3987. Toyota's numbers for this recall are J0A, J0B, and J0C. Lexus' numbers for this recall are JLI, JLJ, and JLK.
White paint is peeling exposing many of the car panels which are starting to rust (structural damage)
I have to add oil every 500 to 800 miles no visible smoke from engine or exhaust when cold or hot. ???? HELP
The contact owns a 2012 Scion XB. The contact stated that the vehicle was exhibiting excessive engine oil consumption. The contact stated that the oil pressure warning light would illuminate approximately 1,000 miles prior to the next scheduled oil change. The contact stated that the oil pressure warning light recently illuminated less than a month after the previous oil change; 2,500 miles prior to the next oil change. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the engine was consuming an excessive amount of oil. The contact stated that 4 quarts of oil was consumed prior to the next scheduled oil change and suggested that there was leak. The independent mechanic informed the contact that the failure was related to Toyota Technical Service Bulletin Number: SB0024-11R2. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
NOTICED THE OIL PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON WHEN I TURNED A CORNER. IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT TO DEALER, WHERE I HAVE ALL SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE DONE (EXCEPT ONCE). CAR WAS FOUND TO HAVE NO OIL IN IT BEFORE SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE. THIS HAPPENED 6 MONTHS PREVIOUSLY AND WAS THOUGHT TO BE A PVC PLUG ISSUE. WAS TOLD IT WAS DUE TO A KNOWN ISSUE WITH EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION DUE TO WORN PISTON RINGS, ULTIMATELY THE FAULT OF THE REQUIREMENT OF ETHANOL IN GASOLINE. SOLUTION - KEEP CHECKING THE OIL AND ADD AS NEEDED. NOT WORTH REPAIRING THE PISTON RINGS.

RECALL ID 287614-MY VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT ON 1/10/2019 FOR FAILURE TO STOP DUE TO BRAKES. MY CAR RAN A RED LIGHT AND HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE IN THE INTERSECTION. BOTH CARS WERE TOTALED AND REMOVED FROM THE SCENE BY A TOW TRUCK. I RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION IN THE MAIL IN APRIL 2019 3 MONTH AFTER MY ACCIDENT REGARDING THE RECALL ID #287614, I HAVE SINCE CONTACTED TOYOTA AND THE REFUSED TO COMPENSATE ME FOR MY LOSS. THEY HAVE TRIED TO RELOCATE MY CAR FOR INSPECTION BUT THE INSURANCE COMPANY WHO HAS POSSESSION OF MY CAR AFTER THE ACCIDENT, NO LONGER HAS IT. I HAVE NOT FULLY RECOVERED FROM THIS ACCIDENTLY FINICALLY AND I WAS LOOKING TO HAVE TOYOTA TO HELP ME COMPENSATE ME FOR MY LOSS. THE MONEY I DID GET FROM THE INSURANCE COMPANY WENT TOWARDS THE REMAINING BALANCE OF MY LOAN AND I WAS NOT ABLE TO USE IT TOWARDS ANOTHER VEHICLE. MY CAR WAS TOWED TO THE INSURANCE COMPANY AND IS NO LONGER ACCESSIBLE FOR INSPECTION. I WOULD LIKE FOR TOYOTA TO TAKE SOME RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS ACCIDENT. ON 9/20/18 DRIVING EXITING A HIGHWAY TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN ON A CITY STREET AS I WAS DECREASING SPEED THE CAR SHUT OFF AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED. ON 9/24/18 AGAIN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY STUCK IN TRAFFIC THE CAR SHUT OFF AGAIN HAD TO PUT IN PARK AND TURN THE KEY TO GET IT TO START AGAIN. 9/28/18 WOULDNT START WHEN PARKED HAD TO REPEATEDLY TURN THE KEY TO GET THE IGNITION TO START. THEN ON 10/5/18 DRIVING 50MPH ON A CITY STREET TURNING ON THE HEADLIGHTS THE IGNITION COMPLETELY SHUT OFF, TURNED THE HEADLIGHTS BACK OFF THE CAR TURNED ON AGAIN, TRIED AGAIN TO TURN THE HEADLIGHTS ON AND THE CAR SHUT OFF AGAIN, TURNED OFF THE HEADLIGHTS THE CAR TURNED ON AGAIN THEN PULLED OVER PLACED THE CAR IN PARK TURNED ON THE HEADLIGHTS PUT CAR IN DRIVE AND THE CAR STAYED ON. THERE ARE NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS THAT COME ON PRIOR TO THIS HAPPENING AND NO TYPE OF WARNINGS TO INFORM THAT THE CAR IS ABOUT TO SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING.

WHITE PAINT. THE PAINT STARTING FLAKING OFF IN LARGE SHEETS ON IT'S OWN, NO CONNECTION TO VEHICLE DAMAGE, WEATHER, ETC. PAINT IS NOW GONE FROM MY ENTIRE ROOF, HALF THE HOOD, MULTIPLE OTHER PLACES. CONTINUES CHIPPING AND FLAKING, CAR IS ONLY 8 YEARS OLD AND THIS IS AN OBVIOUS DEFECT. BEEN HAPPENING FOR OVER A YEAR, ABOUT 1/3 OF THE PAINT ON MY CAR IS NOW GONE. CAN PROVIDE LOTS OF PICTURES.

THE PAINT IS PEELING OFF FROM ENTIRE ROOF AND OTHER PARTS OF THE CAR. IT STARTED WITH JUST A FEW SMALL SPOTS AND THEN QUICKLY PROGRESSED TO LARGE SHEETS OF PAINT FALLING OFF. I CONTACTED LOCAL BODY SHOP AND I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS UNUSUAL PAINT PROBLEM AND, THEY SUGGESTED CONTACTING TOYOTA DEALER. SO I DID. TOYOTA SERVICE REP TOLD ME THAT THEY WERE VERY AWARE OF THE ISSUE WITH THE PAINT HOWEVER, SINCE THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY, THEY SAID THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO TO HELP. THEY GAVE ME PHONE NUMBER, 1-800-331-4331 AND SUGGESTED I CONTACT TOYOTA CUSTOMER SERVICE. SUSAN, TOYOTA SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE, VERY NICELY TOLD ME THAT SHE WAS NOT AWARE OF ANY PROBLEMS RELATED TO PAINT PEELING OFF. SHE LOGGED IN MY COMPLAINT, GAVE ME MY COMPLAINT NUMBER AND WISHED ME MERRY CHRISTMAS. THAT'S IT! WHAT?!?!?! THEY ARE NOT AWARE OF THE PROBLEM? INTERNET IS FULL OF PISSED OFF SCION AND TOYOTA OWNERS COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE. LOCAL DEALERSHIPS ALSO KNOW ABOUT IT. MANY ALREADY REPORTED THE PROBLEM TO TOYOTA AND THEY ARE NOT AWARE OF THE PROBLEM? I DON'T BELIEVE IT FOR A SECOND. THEY SIMPLY IGNORE IT TILL SOMEBODY DOES SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
TAKATA RECALL, I HAVE HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY TOYOTA SCION XB, THE PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG IS DEFECTIVE AND I HAD RECEIVED A NOTICE THAT NO ONE SHOULD RIDE IN THAT SEAT UNTIL THE AIRBAG CAN BE REPLACED. THIS IS SCARY, AND NOW MY FOUR SEAT CAR, ONLY GET USED ON 3 SEATS. VERY DANGEROUS AND INCONVENIENT THAT NO ONE CAN USE THAT FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. I RECEIVED A 2ND LETTER JUST LAST WEEK THAT SAID CONTACT MY TOYOTA DEALER (WHICH I DID) FOR REPLACEMENT OF THE BAG. I JUST TRIED THAT AND THE "PARTS" ARE NOT ALL IN...WHY WOULD TOYOTA DO THAT LETTER IF ALL PARTS ARE NOT IN FOR MY MODEL. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP (WESTON, FL 954-659-1800) AND WAS GIVEN THE RUNAROUND THAT NO DATE IS SET FOR RECEIVING THE PARTS I NEED TO REPAIR MY SCION AND IT IS UNKNOWN WHEN THAT WILL HAPPEN. MY COMPLIANT IS WHY IS TOYOTA SENDING LETTERS TO US OWNER THAT SAYS IT IS FINALLY READY TO FIX THE AIRBAG, WHEN I TRIED TO DO THAT WAS TURNED AWAY SAYING PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE (AND A SIDE STATEMENT THAT THEY DO NOT EVEN KNOW WHEN MY "PARTS" FOR MY SCION 2012 XB MAY NOT HAVE EVEN BEEN MADE YET. SO I AM STILL DRIVING AN UNSAFE PASSENGER SEAT CAR. WHAT CAN YOUR NHTSA CORP DO FOR ME TO HELP ME GET THIS FIXED???
