The contact stated that while depressing the brake pedal, there was a clicking sound coming from underneath the vehicle, and the vehicle swayed slightly before coming to a stop. The failure became more persistent, and the clicking sound became louder within a week. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic, who determined that the frame had severe rust that had created a hole near the ball joints on the driver’s side front wheel and informed the contact that the vehicle was not safe to drive. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case. The failure mileage was 130,000.

2014 SUBARU LEGACY. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO CLAMP THAT HOLDS VEHICLE BUMPER REPLACEMENT ISSUES. *SMD THE CONSUMER NOTICED SEVERAL MONTHS AFTER SHE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, THE BUMPER HAD POPPED OUT. SHE MANAGED TO PUSH IT BACK IN. HOWEVER, THE SAME THING HAPPENED ON ANOTHER OCCASION. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER, THE CLAMP THAT HELD THE BUMPER IN PLACE WAS MISSING AND IT WAS POSSIBLE SHE MAY HAVE WENT OVER A BUMP IN THE ROAD WHICH MAY HAVE CAUSED THEM TO BECOME LOOSE, AND EVENTUALLY LOST. A NEW CLAMP WAS INSTALLED AND THERE WAS NO PROBLEM, UNTIL THE FALL. WHILE DRIVING, THE CONSUMER A HEARD A NOISE. WHEN SHE EXITED THE VEHICLE, SHE DISCOVERED THE BUMPER WAS HANGING FROM THE VEHICLE. EVIDENTLY, SHE HAD BEEN DRAGGING THE BUMPER FOR SEVERAL MILES AND THE BOTTOM BECAME SCRATCHED AND TORN. THE DEALER STATED THERE WAS A SLIGHT IMPRESSION ON THE BUMPER AND IT LOOKED AS THOUGH IT HAD BEEN HIT AT SOME POINT. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND IT WOULD COST $ 1,034.84 TO REPLACE. *JB
