WITHIN 32,000 MILES VEHICLE HAS GONE THROUGH 2 SETS OF TIRES DUE TO POOR ALIGNMENT. VEHICLE CANNOT STAY IN ALIGNMENT OR STRAIGHT.*AK
A FADING BRAKE PROBLEM ON 3 OCCASIONS. BRAKE PEDAL WILL GO TO FLOOR , FOR A FEW SECONDS THERE WERE NO BRAKES, BUT EVENTUALLY THEY WILL CATCH. *AK
VEHICLE STALLS INTERMITTENTLY AT ANY SPEED AND POSSIBLY DUE TO FUEL PUMP WHICH BLOWS A FUSE. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
AIR BAG LIGHT HAS BEEN LOOKED AT NUMEROUS TIMES NOW THAT MY REGULAR WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED, I HAD TO LOOK AT MY EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR COVERAGE AND THEY DO NOT REPLACE AIR BAG SENSORS. THEY SUPPOSEDLY FIXED IT AT 30,000 MILES BUT IT REOCCURED AT 45,000 MILES. NOW THEY SAY THEY WILL PAY FOR THE PART BUT NOT THE LABOR. SHOULDN'T THIS BE PAID BY THE MANUFACTURER COMPLETELY SINCE IT IS A SAFETY FACTOR?
CONSUMER STATES ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHEN THERE IS TWO OR MORE PASSENGERS AND SOME LUGGAGE, THE VEHICLE SUSPENSION SAGS TO A POINT WHERE THE TAIL PIPE AND POSSIBLY THE FUEL TANK, OCCASIONALLY COMES IN CONTACT WITH THE ROAD WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, CONSUMER STATES THAT THE VEHICLE BOTTOMING OCCURS WHEN THE VEHICLE BEARS A LOAD FAR BELOW ANY MAXIMUM SPECIFIED WEIGHT, CONSUMER HAS BEEN TRYING TO GET THE COIL SPRINGS REPLACED BY MANUFACTURER BUT HAS HAD NO LUCK, HE HAS BEEN TOLD BY DELAERSHIP THAT THERE IS NO PROBLEM WITH THE SUSPENSION AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY UNLOADED, EVEN THOUGH THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN ADMITTED THAT THE VEHICLE APPEARED LOW, HE THEN STATED THAT CONSUMER OVERLOADED VEHICLE.*JB
WHILE DRIVING AIR BAG LIGHT WOULD FLASH/BLINK. WOULD NOT REMAIN SOLID. SOUNDS LIKE CABLES HITTING SOMETHING UNDER HOOD. BEEN TO DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS TIMES, BUT MECHANIC COULD NOT LOCATE CAUSE OF PROBLEM. MECHANIC INDICATED THAT HE TIGHTENED A PIN, BUT PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. *AK
BRAKES WOULD WEAR OUT EXCESSIVELY. VEHICLE WOULD SKIP ALONG ROAD WHEN BRAKES WERE APPLIED. PRIOR TO PROBLEM, HAD WORK DONE ON BRAKES AT 7,000 MILES. MECHANIC INDICATED 5% OF BRAKES WERE LEFT. HAD TO REPLACE BRAKES THE FIRST TIME. CURRENTLY, REPLACING BRAKES AGAIN. *AK
THE BRAKES SEEM TO LOOSE ITS POWER ASSIST AT LOW SPEEDS, THEY FEEL MUCH THE WAY IF THE ENGINE WAS SHUTT OFF AND GREATLY INCREASE THE STOPPING DISTANCE OF THE VEHICLE, OFTEN THE LOSS OF BRAKING WILL PUT THE VEHICLE INTO AN INTERSECTION OR OTHER DANGEROUS SITUATIONS WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP OR WHEN STOPPING SUDDENLY, ALSO WHEN STOPPING NORMALLY THEN TRY TO PRESS HARDER ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, THERE IS AN EXTENDED STOPPING PROBLEM, CONSUMER DOES NOT BELIEVE THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE ABS, HOWEVER DEALER UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND STATES ITS JUST LIKE FACT THAT THE VEHICLE HAS ABS.*JB
WHILE DRIVING 20-25 MPH HAD REARENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE, AND AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.*AK
WHILE PARKING VEHICLE RIGHT TIRE CAME OFF THE RIM. MECHANIC STATED TIE ROD NEEDED REPLACEMENT. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT STATE SPEED LIMIT AND WITHOUT WARNING VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE.*AK
WE BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE AS A TOYOTA CERTIFIED USER CAR. SINCE PURCHASE WE HAVE REPLACED THE ENTIRE BRAKE SYSTEM TWICE AND AND ROTORS/PADS THREE TIMES, DUE TO GRINDING NOISES, PEDAL VIBRATION AND PREMATURE WEAR. IN SPEAKING THE WITH SERVICE MANAGER HE INDICATES THAT THERE ARE NO REPORTED PROBLEMS, BUT AFTER VISITING YOUR SITE -- I'M CONVINCED THERE IS A REAL PROBLEM. PLEASE HELP. *AK
PROBLEMS WITH UNEVEN TIRE WEAR, BRAKES, CAR VIBRATION, AND BUMPY SUSPENSION SINCE NEW. SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO GET IT CORRECTED, INCLUDING NEW PADS, AND TIRES 2 TIMES EACH, BUT NO LUCK
CONSUMERS VEHICLE STARTED MAKING NOISES, SO CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE IN FOR INSPECTION. IT WAS SAID TO CONSUMER THERE MAY BE A GEL SUBSTANCE IN THE FUEL SYSTEM OCCURING FROM LACK OF MAINTENANCE. THERE WAS NOT ANY GEL BUT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT REFUSES TO COMPLETE ANY ENGINE WORK UNTILL CONSUMER SHOWS PROOF OF MAINTENANCE FOR THIS VEHICLE. *JG

ABOUT EVERY 6 MONTHS, THE BRAKE LIGHT ILLUMINATES. *JG
CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THAT THE REAR BRAKE SHOES NEEDED TO BE CLEANED AND ADJUSTED, BOTH REAR AND FRONT BRAKES WERE WORN AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, CONSUMER WAS THEN INFOMRED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC THAT THE FRONT AND REAR BRAKES WERE STILL GOOD.*JB
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT GOES ON AND SOMETIMES GOES OFF BY ITSELF. COMPUTER ANALYSIS INDICATES AN OXYGEN SENSOR IS BAD BUT ITEM IS UNDER WARRANTY FOR 96 MONTHS OR 80,000 MILES. PROBLEM STARTED ABOUT 40,000 MILES. TOYOTA SAYS THE WARRANTY IS GOOD ONLY IN THOSE STATES THAT ADOPTED CA STANDARDS, I.E., NY AND MA. OTHER STATES WARRANTY IS FOR 36,000 MILES. PROBLEM DID NOT SURFACE UNTIL 40,000 MILES. ORIGINAL AND SEND PURCHASE OF CARS WAS IN VIRGINIA BUT TOYOTA CHOSE TO PUT A CA SENSOR. I HAVE NO VOICE IN VA OR SC EMISSION STANDARDS. PROBLEM NOW IS WHEN CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON, IS IT THE SENSOR OR SOMETHING MORE SERIOUS? THE TOYOTA WARRANTY POLICY IS ARBITRARY AND CAPRICIOUS SINCE MOST TOYOTA'S ARE SOLD OUTSIDE OF CA. CAN YOU HELP ME?? TS
WHILE TRAVELING 35 MPH AND AS A RESULT OF A VEHICLE CRASH AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, RESULTING IN INJURIES. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
THE BRAKE PEDAL WHEN APPLIED WOULD STOP LESS THAN AN INCH FROM THE FLOOR BOARD. AFTER MANY ATTEMPTS, DEALERSHIP REPLACED A FAULTY BOOSTER, WHICH SEEM TO ELIMINATE THE PROBLEM. *TT *JB

THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT, AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, CONSUMER WAS INJURED.*AK *JB

THE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE DASHBOARD. THE DEALER REPLACED THE SENSOR, HOWEVER THE PROBLEM RECURRED. *JB
SOMETIMES THE VEHICLE DID NOT START. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN TO THE DEALER FIVE TIMES FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. THE DEALER REPLACED THE SPARK PLUGS ON 5/3/2003 AND THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE THE SAME PROBLEM. *JB
THE POWER WINDOWS WOULD NOT RAISE OR LOWER WHEN THE POWER WINDOW BUTTON WAS PUSHED FROM EITHER CONSOLES. THE VEHICLE ALSO EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS WITH THE SUN ROOF. *NLM
SEVERAL TIMES OIL WOULD BACKUP INTO THE ENGINE OR EXCESSIVE OIL WOULD BE USED. WHEN THE CONSUMER PULLED INTO A GAS STATION THE VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE AND EXPLODED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS QUESTIONABLE AND THE DEALERSHIP NEEDED TO REPLACE THE ENGINE. *NLM
WATER LEAKED INTO THE VEHICLE ALTHOUGH THE DOORS AND WINDOWS WERE CLOSED. *NLM
THE VEHICLE HAD A PROBLEM FOR OVER A YEAR WITH THE THROTTLE CABLE STICKING. *AK THE THROTTLE STICKING WAS INTERMITTENT. THE CONSUMER FELT THE 4 CYLINDER ENGINES SHOULD BE RECALLED AS THE 99 TOYOTA CAMRY V6 ENGINES. (RECALL # 01V012000) *SCC *JB
DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR HAS A MIRROR ON IT THAT FALLS OFF AND DISTRACTS THE DRIVER'S FOCUS FROM THE ROAD.*AK
WHILE DRIVING THE CONSUMER BEGAN TO HEAR A CRACKLING SOUND. THE CONSUMER PULLED OVER AND POPPED THE HOOD AND SAW THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT SAID THE FIRE OCCURRED BECAUSE OF A FAULTY IGNITION. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *NLM

DEALER HAS NOT SOLVED THE PROBLEM. *AK CONSUMER SAID THAT IT WAS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR TOYOTA CAMRY VEHICLES. DEALER SAID THAT IT'S THE TYPE OF FUEL USED ON THE VEHICLE. HOWEVER, DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. ALSO, CONSUMER WAS TOLD THAT IF THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DIDN'T CAME ON, DEALERSHIP WON'T BE ABLE TO LOCATE PROBLEM. *LA
CONSUMER CONCERNED WITH ENTRAPMENT IN THE VEHICLE DUE TO A FAULTY ELECTRONIC ACTUATOR FOR THE KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM. *PH *MR
BETWEEN SEPTEMBER 2003 TO FEBRUARY 2004, THREE OF THE FOUR NEW B.F. GOODRICH TIRES FAILED. *PH IT RESULTED TO DIFFICULTY OF STEERING; VEHICLE SWERVING SLIGHTLY AND DIFFICULTY IN STEERING. IN ADDITION, BRAKING WAS POOR AND RIDE WAS UNSTABLE. ALSO, ALL THREE OCCURRENCES THE FOLLOWING ARE OBSERVED BY THE CONSUMER: NO OBSTRUCTIONS ON THE ROAD, PAVEMENT WAS DRY AND IN GOOD CONDITION, CONSUMER DIDN'T HIT ANYTHING, NO VISIBLE DAMAGE ON TIRE DURING THE TIME OF FAILURE, FOUR INCH CRESCENT SLIT AT THE RADIAL POSITION INSIDE THE SIDEWALL, AND ALL TIRES WERE KEPT PROPERLY INFLATED. CONSUMER DECIDED TO REPLACE THE TIRES WITH A DIFFERENT BRAND. *LA
CORDOVAN TIRE, P205/65R15, DOT PLURTMJKR3800 EXPERIENCED CRACKING IN THE LOWER SIDEWALL. *AK
