WHILE DRIVING INTO THE SUN, I PULLED MY VISOR DOWN TO BLOCK THE SUN. THE VISOR BROKE & HUNG LIMPLY IN MY FACE, BLOCKING MY VIEW. WHEN I TRIED TO MOVE IT OUT OF THE WAY, IT WOULDN'T STAY. IN ORDER TO DRIVE SAFELY, I ENDED UP PULLING OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, AND FIGURING OUT HOW TO DETACH IT, SO THAT IT WOULD NOT BLOCK MY VISION. *TR
THE DASH HAS BECOME VERY STICKY AND SHINY LIKE IT IS MELTING. WHEN YOU DRIVE TOWARDS THE SUN, THE GLARE OFF THE SHINY DASH IS SO BAD YOU CANNOT SEE OUT OF THE WINDSHIELD. TOYOTA WILL NOT RECOGNIZE THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM AND WILL ONLY GIVE A SMALL LOYALTY AMOUNT TOWARDS THE REPAIR SINCE THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY. I HAVE BEEN TALKING TO TOYOTA FOR SINCE 2011 AND THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO HELP. THIS IS A TREMENDOUS SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL OF THE WHEELS ON THE VEHICLE WERE RUSTED AND EXHIBITED ORANGE FLAKY BUILD UP. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE WHEELS WERE NOT UNSAFE AND NO REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR ON MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY LE BROKE. THE PLASTIC SNAPPED WHICH DOESN'T ALLOW FOR THE VISOR TO STAY IN PLACE AND THEREFORE BLOCKS DRIVER'S VIEW. WHEN I LOOKED AT WHERE THE PLASTIC BROKE, IT SEEMS AS IF THE METAL HINGE THAT ALLOWS THE VISOR TO MOVE UP AND DOWN CAUSED THE PLASTIC TO SNAP IN HALF (NEAR THE HINGE). I HAVE NOT YET REPAIRED THIS AS I'VE NOTICED THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE AND AM HOPING IT WILL BE RECALLED. CURRENTLY IT IS BEING HELD TOGETHER WITH CLAMPS AS A TEMPORARY SOLUTION. I USE MY VISOR ON A NORMAL BASIS (MORNING DRIVE TO BLOCK THE SUN, EVENING DRIVE TO BLOCK THE SUN). *TR
DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR FAILS UNDER NORMAL WEAR. ONCE VISOR IS BROKEN IT HANGS DOWN IN THE DRIVERS VIEW CREATING A HAZARD. THERE IS NO POSSIBLE WAY TO FIX THE VISOR TO ORIGINAL CONDITION ONCE IN A BROKEN STATE. REPLACED VISOR WITH TOYOTA OEM PART. UPON INSPECTION OF THE BROKEN VISOR, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE REASON THE ORIGINAL VISOR FAILED WAS BECAUSE THE TENSION BAR IS DEPENDENT ON A METAL CLIP THAT IT RESTRAINED BY THE WEAK PLASTIC HOUSING. REPLACEMENT VISOR SHOULD HAVE BETTER REINFORCEMENT AROUND TENSION BAR. WITHOUT DESTROYING THE REPLACEMENT PART, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO DETERMINE IF A DESIGN CHANGE HAS BEEN MADE TO FIX THIS ISSUE. *TR
SUN VISOR BROKE AND OBSTRUCTS MY VISION. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME OVER $200 TO REPAIR IT. I HAVE A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY WITH APPROXIMATELY 51,000 MILES. *TT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE VISOR FELL FROM ITS HOUSING AND WOULD NOT REMAIN SECURED, OBSTRUCTING THE DRIVER'S VIEW OF THE ROADWAY. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 66,000.
TOYOTA CAMRY 2007 VISOR HAS A SPRING INSIDE WHICH APPAENTLY BRAKS EASILY, VISOR REFUSES TO STAY IN THE UPRIGHT POSITION, FLOPS DOWN POTENTIALLY INTERFERING WITH VISON WHILE DRIVING. COST TO REPAIR APPROX. $120 FOR PART NOT INCLUDING LABOR. I HAVE OWNED MANY VEHICLES, I HAVE NEVER ENCOUNTERED THIS PROBLEM WITH SUCH A BASIC ITEM. *TT
2007 CAMRY LE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR NOT REMAINING UP AND EVENTUALLY CAME COMPLETELY OFF WHEN I WAS MOVING VISOR FROM SIDE WINDOW BACK TO WINDSHIELD. THIS HAPPENED WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND ALMOST RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT. *TR
THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SUN VISORS DO NOT STAY IN PLACE WHEN NOT IN USE. THE HAZARD IS THAT WHEN A PERSON ENTERS THE CAR, THE SUN VISOR HITS HIS OR HER HEAD IF THEY ARE NOT CAREFUL. ALSO, BECAUSE THE SUN VISOR IS LOWER THAN MOST NORMAL SUN VISORS, IT BLOCKS THE DRIVER'S VIEW SOMEWHAT. I HAVE A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY AND I'VE HAD TROUBLE EVER SINCE I BOUGHT THIS CAR BRAND NEW IN 2007. TO CORRECT THIS FAILURE, I HAVE TIED THE SUN VISOR WITH DUCT TAPE, AND CONNECTED IT TO THE TOP HANDLE AND THE EYE GLASS TRAY (AT THE TOP MIDDLE OF THE CAR CABIN). IF I HAVE TO USE THE VISOR FOR SUN, IT CONSTANTLY SWINGS AND IS A DISTRACTION WHILE DRIVING. THEREFORE, I WEAR SUNGLASSES FOR THIS DEFECT. *KB
I HAVE A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY AND THE SUN VISORS HAVE BEEN SAGGING WHEN IN THE STOWED POSITION FOR A YEAR OR MORE. TODAY, THE DRIVERS-SIDE VISOR HAS DECIDED TO FALL INTO MY FIELD OF VISION WHILE DRIVING. I TRIED TO STOW THE VISOR, BUT IT WILL NO LONGER STAY PUT. I HAD TO REMOVE THE VISOR FROM THE ROOF. AS OF YET, I HAVE DONE NOTHING TO REPAIR OR REPLACE AS IT IS A SUNDAY. I WILL CONTACT TOYOTA TOMORROW AND SEE WHAT IT WILL COST ME. 2007 CAMRY DRIVER SIDE VISOR FAILED TO STAY UP A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO AND NOW IT SEEMS TO BE BROKEN COMPLETELY, OBSTRUCTING MY VIEW. *KB
2007 TOYOTA CAMRY SE AT 51,300 MILES. THE DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR MADE CLICK SOUND WHEN I TRY TO PUT IT DOWN UNDER NORMAL OPERATION. IT LOST FUNCTION OF HOLDING ITSELF AND DOES NOT STAY UP OR DOWN. IT IS JUST HANGING AND BLOCKING THE VIEW WHICH IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. IT HAS TO BE REMOVED AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I BELIEVE THIS IS NOT WEAR AND TEAR. *KB
DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR CANNOT STAY UP FOR NO REASON. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR WOULD CONTINUALLY RELEASE FROM ITS HOUSING AND HANG DOWN, OBSTRUCTING THE CONTACT'S VISIBILITY OF THE ROADWAY. THE CONTACT COMPLETELY REMOVED THE SUN VISOR FROM THE VEHICLE AND WHEN NEEDED, HE WOULD MANUALLY HOLD THE SUN VISOR IN PLACE. THE DEALER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS A VOLUNTARY RECALL FOR THE FAILURE BUT THE CONTACT'S VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
BURNS OIL EXCESSIVELY. ALWAYS HAVE TO ADD 1 QUART OIL BETWEEN EVERY SCHEDULED OIL CHANGE.

THE SUN VISOR WAS FRACTURED ALONG THE SEAM WHICH WAS LOCATED NEAR THE SUPPORT BRACKET. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE DEFECT AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT EXPRESSED THE SAFETY CONCERN WITH THE SUN VISOR OBSTRUCTING THE VISIBILITY WHILE DRIVING. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,400. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
THE ABS ACTUATOR FAILED AND IT WAS DIFFICULT TO PUT THE BRAKES. IT COST ME $2,400.00 IN 2011. A FEW MONTH AGO THE NEW PART ONCE AGAIN FAILED. I BOUGHT A USED PART AND PAID $1,100.00. TOYOTA WANTED ME TO PAY $4,000.00. *TR

IN ADDITION, THE PASSENGER SIDE VISOR DETACHED FROM ITS BRACKET. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE VISOR WAS NOT COVERED FOR ANY REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN, BUT THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
DRIVER'S VISOR JUST BROKE, FLOPPING DOWN IN FRONT OF MY SON'S LINE OF VISION WHILE HE WAS DRIVING AT NIGHT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT FRONT DRIVERS SIDE STRUT, AS WELL AS ONE REAR STRUT WAS DEFECTIVE. AS A RESULT, ALL FOUR TIRES EXPERIENCED EXCESSIVE TREAD WEAR. THE FAILURES WERE IDENTIFIED DURING A ROUTINE INSPECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE TWO OUT OF THE FOUR STRUTS WERE REPLACED; THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE STRUT AS WELL AS ONE OF THE REAR STRUTS. THE TWO STRUTS THAT WERE REPLACED WERE ALSO LEAKING FLUID. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED TO COVER THE EXPENSES FOR THE TWO STRUT REPAIRS, BUT REFUSED TO REPLACE THE TIRES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19,135 UPDATED 09/07/11
SUN VISOR ON PASSENGER SIDE WOULD NOT LONGER STAY IN THE UP POSITION. IT HANGS DOWN, WHICH BLOCKS THE DRIVER'S VIEW TO TRAFFIC APPROACHING FROM THE RIGHT. *TR

2007 CAMRY - SUN VISOR JUST ABRUPTLY COMES OUT OF THE HOLDER - NO CRASH OR ABUSE .... WILL NOT STAY UP THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AS I CAN NOT CONTROL THE VISOR FOR SUN AND TO SEE THE ROAD. *TR
THE DASH HAS BEEN MELTING FOR YEARS IN MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY XLE. SINCE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE , I HAVE USED THE SUN SHADES AND GARAGE AS WELL AND STILL MY DASH HAS SOFTEN, MELTED , CRACKED , CHUNKS COME OUT BY SIMPLY TOUCHING WITH FINGERNAIL ETC BY MISTAKE . I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL AND OWNED THE CAR SINCE 2009 AND LIVED ST THE SAME ADDRESS FOR 15 YEARS UNTIL RECENTLY. IT WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE THE DEFECT FIXED !!!!! MY SECOND TOYOTA . PLEASE FIX IT !!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE MOVING SLOWLY IN TRAFFIC AT 1 MPH, THE VEHICLE RPM INCREASED EXCESSIVELY. HE STARTED TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL FIRMLY SO THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCLERATE. THE RPM STARTED TO SLOWLY DECREASE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, AND ALL FIXES WERE IN PLACE FOR ALL THE RECALLS THAT PERTAINS TO THE VEHICLE. THEY INFORMED HIM THAT THEY PUT A BRAKE TO IDLE FIX IN, SO AS SOON AS THE VEHICLE RPM INCREASED, HE COULD DEPRESS THE BRAKE AND THE VEHICLE WOULD GO TO IDLE. THIS FIX DID NOT WORK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND A CLAIM WAS FILE. A REPRESENTATIVE WOULD BE SENT OUT TO THOUROUGHLY INSPECT HIS VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,000. WHEN THE CONSUMER PUT HIS HIS FOOT ON THE BRAKE, HE NOTICED THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING FORWARD. THE CONSUMER HAD TO APPLY THE BRAKE HARDER. UPDATED 09/12/11
I WAS DRIVING ON THE TURNPIKE WITH MY CRUISE CONTROL SET AT 75 MPH WHEN MY CAR BEGAN "RACING" INTO OVERDRIVE. IT DID THIS FOR A FEW SECONDS THEN STOPPED, A FEW MINUTES LATER THE ENGINE RACED AGAIN. ABOUT. THAT TIME ANOTHER CAR PULLED UP NEXT TO ME TO TELL ME MY CAR WAS ON FIRE(SMOKING). I PULLED OFF THE INTERSTATE AND HAD TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED. TOYOTA FINALLY AGREED TO REPLACE THE ENGINE BUT I AM HAVING SAME PROBLEMS WITH NEW ENGINE AND I WAS CHARGED $1800 TO GET AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THE NEW ENGINE. *TR
SUNVISOR STARTED MAKING POPPING NOISE WHEN BEING MOVED. IT THEN JUST FLOPPED DOWN AND WILL NOT STAY UP. THIS IS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE AND BLOCKS VISION. IT HAS NOT YET BEEN REPAIRED. I CALLED TOYOTA AND WILL NEED TO BRING IT IN AND BECAUSE IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY IT WILL BE AT MY EXPENSE. *TR

THE CONTACT TRIED TO USE TAPE AND VELCRO AS A TEMPORARY FIX BUT IT FAILED TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 98,000.
OVER THE LAST SEVERAL MONTHS, MY DRIVER'S SIDE VISOR HAS BEEN MAKING A CLICKING NOISE EVERY TIME IT WAS PULLED DOWN OR PUSHED BACK UP, AND STARTED TO HANG APPROXIMATELY 3 INCHES DOWN WHEN IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE IN THE "UP" POSITION. AT THE BEGINNING OF JULY, IT COMPLETELY STOPPED RETRACTING BACK TO THE UP POSITION AND NOW FLOPS/HANGS DOWN BLOCKING VIEW (WHICH IN MY OPINION IS VERY UNSAFE). IN ORDER TO SEE WHEN DRIVING, I NOW HAVE TO PUSH THE VISOR TO THE SIDE. OF COURSE MY WARRANTY HAS LONG EXPIRED (I PURCHASED THE CAR NEW IN 2006) AND WHEN I CONTACTED THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTER WHERE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED, THEY QUOTED ME A PRICE OF $117 FOR THE PART, NOT INCLUDING LABOR TO REPLACE. ONLINE I HAVE FOUND MULTIPLE WEBSITES WITH LOTS OF PEOPLE REPORTING THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS IS REALLY A SAFETY ISSUE AND I BELIEVE A RECALL NEEDS TO BE ISSUED.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WHEEL. A LOCAL MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A SUSPENSION FAILURE ON BOTH THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED, BUT DENIED ANY ASSISTANCE WITH REPAIRS TO THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 77,000.
THE DRIVER'S SUN VISOR HAS DROPPED ON BOTH OF OUR 2007 CAMRY'S THAT WE OWN. ONE IS SO BAD THAT WE REMOVED IT BECAUSE YOU CAN'T SEE WITH IT DOWN. HOWEVER, IF YOU ARE DRIVING EAST OR WEST YOU ARE BLINDED BY THE SUN. THE OTHER CAR IS JUST AS BAD BECAUSE THE VISOR WON'T STAY UP. THIS TOO IS A PROBLEM FOR DRIVER SAFETY AND FOR THE SAFETY OF OTHERS!!! THIS ISN'T A COINCIDENCE THAT OUT OF ALL CAMRY'S SOLD THAT WE GOT THE TWO WHERE THE VISORS FAILED. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL!! WHY SHOULD THE OWNER BE HELD TO PAYING FOR THIS EXPENSE WHEN IT IS A FACTORY DEFECT? *TR
UNDER LIGHT BRAKING, MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID BRAKES WILL SUDDENLY "LET GO". AT THAT POINT, ADDITIONAL BRAKE PRESSURE IS REQUIRED TO SLOW THE VEHICLE. IN HEAVY TRAFFIC THIS IS DANGEROUS. MY LOCAL TOYOTA SERVICE DEPARTMENT ADVISED ME TO INCREASE MY STOPPING DISTANCE TO ALLOW ENOUGH TIME TO OVERCOME THE FAILURE. THEY FURTHER SUGGESTED THAT A REPAIR MY BE DIFFICULT AS THE PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT. AN INTERNET SEARCH SUGGESTS THIS IS NOT UNIQUE TO MY VEHICLE. *TR
I WAS NOTIFIED MY RIGHT FRONT HEADLIGHT WAS OUT EARLY IN JULY, 2011. I TOOK IT TO BE REPAIRED AND WAS INFORMED THAT A "MODULE" NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE THESE WERE 'HIGH INTENSITY" LIGHTS. ON JULY 12,2011 THE MODULE WAS ORDERED BY MY MECHANIC AND INSTALLED ON JULY 13, 2012. IN FEB, 2012 MY LEFT FRONT HEADLIGHT WENT OUT. MY MECHANIC ORDERED A NEW MODULE ON FEB 15, 2012 AND WAS INSTALLED ON MARCH 1, 2012. IN JUNE, 2012 I WAS STOPPED BY POLICE FOR HAVING ONLY ONE HEADLIGHT. AT THAT TIME MY LEFT HEADLIGHT WAS OUT AGAIN (ONLY 3 MONTHS LATER). WITHIN THE NEXT FEW DAYS I NOTICED THAT INTERMITTENTLY MY HEADLIGHTS WOULD TURN OFF WHILE DRIVING, SOMETIMES THE RIGHT, SOMETIMES THE LEFT, AND SOMETIME BOTH AT THE SAME TIME. IF I SWITCHED FROM AUTO TO ON, BOTH HEADLIGHTS WOULD TURN BACK ON FOR ABOUT 5 MINS THEN EITHER ONE OR BOTH WOULD SHUT OFF. IF I SWITCHED FROM ON TO AUTO, THE SAME WOULD HAPPEN FOR A COUPLE MINUTES.I RETURNED TO MY MECHANIC, BUT UPON DRIVING AND KEEPING THE LIGHTS ON HE COULD NOT GET THE SAME THING TO HAPPEN.THAT WAS ON JULY 20, 2012. SINCE THAT TIME, I HAVE HAD TO REFRAIN FROM USING MY CAR AFTER DARK, BECAUSE FOR NO APPARENT REASON, THE LIGHTS WILL SHUT OFF. THERE ARE TIMES I HAVE ALL LIGHTS AND THEN ANOTHER DRIVER WILL INFORM ME THAT I HAVE NO HEADLIGHTS AT ALL. I AM AWARE THAT THE TOYOTA PRIUS HAD AN ISSUE WITH THIS HAPPENING AND AM CONCERNED THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR AS WELL.THESE LIGHTS AND MODULES ARE EXPENSIVE TO REPLACE AND HAVING TO REPLACE THEM EVERY 6 MONTHS OR ON A CAR THAT IS LESS THAN 5 YEARS OLD SEEMS RIDICULOUS WHILE AFTER REPLACING, THE PROBLEM CONTINUES.THE LACK OF HEADLIGHTS AND NOT KNOWING WHEN THEY GO OUT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND PUTS ME AND MY FAMILY AT RISK FOR INJURY AS WELL AS OTHERS. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THIS IS A GENERAL PROBLEM WITH TOYOTA CARS WITH THESE TYPE OF LIGHTS OR AN ISOLATED CASE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE DASHBOARD MELTED AND PRODUCED A SHINE THAT IMPAIRED THE CONTACT'S VISIBILITY. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
RECENTLY THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR BROKE. IT BEGAN TO SLOWLY COME DOWN AND HANG IN FRONT OF ME AS IF I HAD PULLED IT DOWN TO BLOCK THE SUN. IF I PUSH IT BACK UP IT JUST COMES RIGHT BACK DOWN. I'M NOT ABLE TO PUSH IT TOWARD THE WINDSHIELD TO GET IT OUT OF THE WAY EITHER. IT JUST FALLS BACK DOWN. THIS IS A REAL SAFETY HAZARD CONSIDERING I CANNOT SEE THE STOPLIGHTS WHEN THE VISOR IS IN THE WAY. ALSO IT CAUSED ME TO ALMOST REAR-END ANOTHER VEHICLE. I COULD REMOVE THE VISOR SO THAT I COULD SEE BETTER, BUT THIS WOULD CAUSE ME TO BE BLINDED BY THE SUN. I HAVE LOOKED ONLINE AND FOUND SEVERAL SITES WHERE OTHERS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AND TRIED CALLING THE DEALERSHIPS TO GET THIS FIXED JUST AS THEY HAVE. BUT THE DEALERS WANT OVER $100 TO FIX THIS ISSUE. CONSIDERING THIS IS NOT AN ISSUE WITH JUST ONE OR TWO TOYOTA CAMRY OWNERS, TOYOTA SHOULD NOT ALLOW THIS ISSUE TO GO ON ANY LONGER. TO NOT RECALL THESE VISORS WILL EVENTUALLY, IF IT HASN'T ALREADY, BE THE CAUSE OF SOMEONE'S LIFE BEING LOST. *TR
WHEN ATTEMPTING TO FLIP-UP MY VISOR PRIOR TO DRIVING, DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR BROKE. THE BREAKAGE APPEARS TO HAVE OCCURRED INSIDE THE VISOR ITSELF, AND NOT WHERE IT ATTACHES TO THE ROOF. BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE, THE VISOR HANGS DOWN AND OBSTRUCTS MY VIEW OUT THE FRONT WINDSHIELD AND MAKES IT EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. WHEN FLIPPING IT TO THE SIDE, IT CONTINUES TO HANG DOWN AND MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO SEE THE DRIVER-SIDE MIRROR, AND AGAIN IS DIFFICULT TO DRIVE.

DRIVER SIDE SUNVISOR KEEPS DRIFTING DOWN WHILE DRIVING BLOCKING DRIVER'S VIEW AND CREATES DRIVING HAZARD AND POSSIBLE ACCIDENT. *TR
I OPEN MY SUNROOF LEAVING BEFORE I PULLED OUT OF MY GARAGE. I STOPPED FOR A RED LIGHT AND MADE A TURN. 5 TO 10 SECONDS AFTER I TURNED I HEARD A LOUD EXPLOSION THAT SOUNDED LIKE A GUNSHOT. I CHECKED MY DOOR WINDOWS AND THE APPEARED FINE; I SLIGHTLY CLOSED MY SUNROOF AND SAW THAT THE GLASS WAS SHATTERED IN A MILLION PIECES. THE GUNSHOT SOUND WAS THE SUNROOF EXPLODING IN MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. MY CAR ONLY HAS WITH 68,000 MILES ON IT. TOYOTAS ARE MADE TO BE DRIVEN 300,000 MILES. THIS EXPLOSION OCCURRED WHILE MY SUNROOF WAS IN OPEN MODE. I TOOK MY CAR TO TOYOTA AND WAS TOLD THAT MAYBE A ROCK HIT THE SUNROOF. I TOLD THEM THAT IT WASN'T POSSIBLE SINCE THE SUNROOF WAS OPEN WHEN THE EXPLOSION OCCURRED. THE EXPLOSION CAUSED THE GLASS TO SHATTER. I CALLED MY INSURANCE COMPANY WAS TOLD THAT IF IT IS DETERMINED THAT THIS EXPLOSION WAS A MANUFACTURER'S (TOYOTA) DEFECT THAT TOYOTA WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR REPLACING THE SUNROOF. I CALLED TOYOTA AND WAS TOLD THAT IF I DIDN'T HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT THIS ITEM WOULD NOT BE COVERED. THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD REPLACE THE ROOF FOR $1080. I TOLD THEM THAT THIS ITEM SHOULD BE WORKING AT THE MILEAGE THAT I HAVE AND THAT THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE IT. I ALSO TOLD THEM THAT I HAVE OWNED 3 OTHER CARS WITH SUNROOFS AND THE MILEAGE WAS WAY PAST MY CURRENT MILEAGE THAT I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM. I CALLED THE 800 NUMBER AND FILED A COMPLAINT AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY WEREN'T GOING TO PAY FOR THIS ITEM. I TOLD THEM TO FILE IT AS A COMPLAINT. I ALSO TOLD THEM THAT I WAS GOING TO FILE A COMPLAINT ON TOYOTA. *TR
