'TAKATA RECALL' FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG WHEN DEPLOYED COULD/WILL RELEASE HARMFUL METAL FRAGMENTS RUPTURING THE AIRBAG CUSHION MATERIAL, STRIKING VEHICLE OCCUPANT(S) AND RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. REPAIR IS NEEDED. WILL CONTACT TOYOTA MANUFACTURER. HAS NOT DEPLOYED YET.
VEHICLE SHUTTERS DURING LIGHT ACCELERATION AROUND 15MPH-30MPH. IT DEVELOPS A MILD SHAKE AND LASTS A FEW SECONDS UNLESS ACCELERATION IS STOPPED.
WHEN DRIVING ON LOCAL ROADS, THE ABS, SLIP AND WARNING LIGHTS WOULD COME ON SUDDENLY. I WOULD EXPERIENCE A SEVERE DECREASE IN BRAKE FUNCTION (I WOULD NEED TO SLAM ON THE BRAKES TO GET THEM TO APPLY PROPERLY). THIS HAPPENED FOUR TIMES BEFORE THE SERVICE CENTER WAS ABLE TO DIAGNOSE A FAILED ABS ACTUATOR. THIS IS APPARENTLY A KNOWN ISSUE FOR THE CAMRY HYBRIDS, AS TOYOTA ISSUED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR 2006-2011 CAMRY HYBRIDS FOR THIS VERY PROBLEM. (UNFORTUNATELY, I HAVE A 2012 HYBRID AND THE SERVICE CENTER WOULD LIKE TO CHARGE ME OVER $3K (!) TO FIX THIS ISSUE.).
THE FUEL PUMP.OFNTHE CAR STOPPED WORKING WHILE THE CAR WAS ON THE HIGHWAY. FORTUNATELY WAS IN THE RIGHTMOST LANE SO WAS ABLE TO MANOEUVR TO THE SHOULDER, BUT THE CAR IMMEDIATELY STALLED AND HAD TO BE TOWED. THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP WAS CLUELESS AND TOOK COUPLE DAYS TO.FIGURE OUT THAT THE FUEL PUMP BLEW UP, WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION. THEY REPLACED THE FUEL AND THE CAR WORKED FINE. IT IS LIKELY THAT THE CURRENT PROBLEM OF.FUEL.PUMP.ON NEWER MODEL MAY ALSO.BE RELEVANT TO.OTHER.OLDER MODELS
I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT DRIVING ON A CITY STREET DUE TO THE VEHICLE ACCELERATING, I SLOWED DOWN THEN PUT MY FOOT ON THE PEDAL. THE CAR TOOK OFF I SLAMMED ON MY BRAKES BUT STILL HIT THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. I HAVE TOLD THE DEALER MORE THAN ONCE ABOUT THE VEHICLE STALLING AND ACCELERATING. I HAD FRONT END DAMAGE TO MY BUMPER AND HOOD. THE VEHICLE I CRASHED INTO BACK BUMPER WAS ALSO DENTED.

CAR HAD NO PROBLEMS TIL I REACHED THE 120000 MILE MARK NOW THE CAR SHUTS OFF WITHOUT NOTICE,BURNING OIL AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT GOES OFF AND ON
VEHICLE SHUTTERS AT 30-45 MPH WHEN ACCELERATING AND THE FOOT IS TAKEN OFF THE GAS. IF YOU HIT THE GAS AND SPEED UP OR SLOW DOWN ENOUGH, IT STOPS, BUT IT SEEMS TO BE GETTING WORSE AND WORSE. STARTED AT JUST 45MPH, NOW HAPPENS AT 30 AND 35 MPH AS WELL. IN READING OTHER FORUMS, THERE DOESN'T SEEM TO BE A FIX FOR THIS. SOME HAVE BEEN TOLD A COMPUTER UPGRADE, BUT THAT WAS ONLY TEMPORARY AND IT CAME BACK WORSE.
DOOR LOCKING/UNLOCKING FAILING. I HAVE REPLACED 3 OUT OF 4 PARTS TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM OVER THE LAST 2 YEARS. IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION, AS AN EXAMPLE, WHERE YOU NEED TO GET YOUR CHILD OUT OF THE CAR, THE LOCKS COULD FAIL.
HIGH FUMES INSIDE OF CAR HAD ME DAIZED OUT. I STRUGGLED TO KEEP MY EYES OPEN AND NOT BE SLEEPY. I DROVE WITH THE WINDOWS DOWN. FAKE LEATHER.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO COLONIAL TOYOTA IN MILFORD IN MILFORD, CT 06460, WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING SERVICED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS A ZE5 TORQUE CONVERT AND STATED TO THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. SHIFT LEVER LOCKED IN PARK POSITION. SHIFT LEVER RELEASE BUTTON HAD TO BE PRESSED TO RELEASE LEVER AND REVERSE OUT OF PARKING STALL. ONCE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION THE STABILITY CONTROL, ABS, AND PARKING BRAKE LIGHTS REMAINED ILLUMINATED UNTIL VEHICLE WAS SHUT OFF.
SHIFT LEVER LOCKED IN PARK POSITION, COULD NOT SHIFT TO REVERSE OUT OF PARKING STALL. HAD TO PRESS SHIFT LOCK RELEASE BUTTON TO SHIFT TO REVERSE. THEN ONCE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION THE STABILITY CONTROL, ABS, AND PARKING BRAKE LIGHTS​ REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE SHIFT LEVER LOCKED ON 4 SEPARATE OCCASIONS THAT DAY. THE RELEASE BUTTON HAD TO BE PRESSED EVERY TIME. THE LIGHTS REMAINED ILLUMINATED WHENEVER VEHICLE WAS RUNNING.
ACCELERATING UP A PARKING STRUCTURE, ACCELERATOR PEDAL STOPPED WORKING. ACCELERATOR PEDAL HAD TO BE FULLY RELEASED THEN DEPRESSED AGAIN TO REGAIN FUNCTION.
THE TWO FRONT HEADLIGHT COVERS DEVELOPED A MELTED AREA ABOUT THE SIZE OF A TENNIS BALL
TRAVELING ON A HIGHWAY, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL STOPPED WORKING 3 TIMES IN SUCCESSION. ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS FULLY RELEASED THEN DEPRESSED AGAIN TO REGAIN FUNCTION EACH TIME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE LEFT THE ROAD AND BECAME AIRBORNE BEFORE LANDING ONTO THE GROUND. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED CUTS FROM THE SEAT BELT AND UNSPECIFIED INJURIES TO THE NECK, BACK, AND LEFT LEG. THE CONTACT WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL FOR MEDICAL TREATMENT. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AWAY AND THE INSURANCE COMPANY STATED THAT THEY WOULD ATTEMPT TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND SENT AN INSPECTOR TO INVESTIGATE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT YET BEEN DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,107.
AS I CRUISE ON HIGHWAY AT 70 MILES PER HOUR, THE HYBRID TRACTION BATTERY STARTS TO MAKE MINI RAPID PROGRESSIVELY LOUD EXPLOSIONS LIKE THE BACK OF MY REAR SEAT IS ABOUT TO EXPLODE. TO ALLEVIATE THIS I HAVE TO SLOW DOWN TO ABOUT 65 MILES PER HOUR. I HAVE CONTACTED TOYOTA AND THE DEALERSHIPS BUT ARE UNWILLING TO INVESTIGATE THE CAUSE. THIS CAR IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY.
FROM A STOPPED POSITION, ACCELERATION HESITATES BETWEEN 2ND AND 3RD GEAR. IT DOES NOT DO IT WHEN SLOWING AND THEN ACCELERATING. UNSAFE FOR PULLING INTO TRAFFIC.
SUNROOF GLASS EXPLODED. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY YESTERDAY, MY WIFE AND I HEARD A LOUD EXPLOSION FROM ABOVE. WE THOUGHT SOMETHING HAD DROPPED FROM THE SKY AND FELL ON OUR CAR. THEN I NOTICED IN MY REAR VIEW MIRROR OF GLASS FALLING OFF THE BACK WINDSHIELD. THE SUV FOLLOWING BEHIND ME WAS CHANGING LANES TO AVOID THE GLASS. THEN I OPENED THE SUNROOF VISOR AND GLASS WAS FALLING ONTO US. WE EXITED OFF THE HIGHWAY AND SAW A GAPING HOLE IN THE SUNROOF. THE HOLE WAS GAPING OUTWARD AS IF THE EXPLOSION COME FROM INSIDE.
WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP (TRAFFIC LIGHT OR STOP SIGN), THE VEHICLE WILL MOVE ABOUT 20 FEET OR 20 MPH AND THEN HESITATE FOR ABOUT 1 TO 2 SECONDS. IT WILL THEN ACCELERATE NORMALLY. . THIS HAPPENED AT THOSE INTERVAL. THE INTERMITTENT HESITATION IS VERY DANGEROUS WHEN TRYING TO CROSS A BUSY INTERSECTION WHEN THE CROSS TRAFFIC IS UNCONTROLLED.
I GOT IN A CAR ACCIDENT TWICE ONE BACK ON OCTOBER 2014 AND RECENT ONE WAS ON FEBRUARY 27, 2017. BOTH WAS NOT MY FAULT. I WAS DRIVING ON A GREEN LIGHT OUT OF NOWHERE SUDDENLY CAR TURNED LEFT. I LOST CONTROL. I ENDED UP HITTING OTHER CAR AND THEN THE PROPERTY ON THE CORNER. MY CAR IS TOTALED, THE FRONT IS COMPLETELY CRASHED AND MY AIRBAG DIDN'T DEPLOY DURING THE ACCIDENT.
THE DOORS OPENS WHEN THE CAR IS IN MOTION ALTHOUGH THEY ARE LOCKED. BY MISTAKE I PULLED THE HANDLE WHEN IT WAS IN MOTION AND THE DOOR OPENED IT T HAPPENED ON A CITY STREET. TOYOTA EMPLOYEES SAID THAT IT IS NORMAL, BUT ANY CAR SHOULD OPEN THE DOORS WHEN IT IS MOTION.
MY SON WAS TURNING A CORNER AND HIS CAMRY ACCELERATED OUT OF CONTROL CAUSING HIM TO GO OVER A MEDIAN, DAMAGING THE CAR. THE ACCIDENT WAS ON 2/18/17. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO TOYOTA THAT SAME DAY. TOYOTA MOTOR COMPANY WAS CONTACTED ON MONDAY 2/20/17. AN INDEPENDENT INVESTIGATION REPORT SHOWS THE ACCELERATION. THIS REPORT WAS RECEIVED 3/24/17. TODAY IS 5/3/17 AND WE STILL HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING FROM TOYOTA AS TO THE INVESTIGATION OR SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE. THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP WILL NOT TOUCH THE VEHICLE UNTIL THE PARENT CORPORATION TELLS THEM IT IS OK. WE ARE GETTING THE RUN AROUND. EVERY TIME I CALL THEY SAY IT WILL BE ANOTHER 30 DAYS, YOU WILL RECEIVE A CALL OR YOU WILL RECEIVE SOMETHING IN THE MAIL. IT HAS BEEN ALMOST 3 MONTHS WITH NO RESOLUTION. WE DON'T WANT TO GET ATTORNEY'S INVOLVED BUT WHAT ELSE CAN WE DO? WE HAVE CONSULTED WITH AN ATTORNEY BUT WOULD PREFER FOR TOYOTA TO JUST DO THE RIGHT THING. CAN YOU ASSIST?
VEHICLE HAS 27,500 MILES AS OF TODAY'S DATE. FRONT STRUT TOWERS ARE RUSTED AND MUST BE REPAIRED. TOYOTA OF ROCKWALL, TX REFUSED TO MAKE REPAIR UNDER WARRANTY. TOYOTA NATIONAL OFFICE REFUSED TO PAY FOR REPAIR. THEY TOLD THAT MY WASHING THE MOTOR CAUSED THE PROBLEM. THIS IS NONSENSE BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN WASHING CAR MOTORS FOR OVER FIFTY YEARS WITH NO PROBLEM! THE PROBLEM IS A DESIGN FLAW THAT TOYOTA ALONE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR. NO COVER OR DRAIN WAS MANUFACTURED INTO THE TOWER. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND HE WARNS ME THAT THERE IS A POSSIBILITY OF FAILURE. I WAS DRIVING 2012 CAMRY LE AT 55 MPH AND SUDDENLY HEARD A POP AND FOUND POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT CAME ON THE DASH AND STAYED FOR MORE THAN 10 SECONDS. DURING THAT TIME THE STEERING WAS HARD TO ROTATE AND ALSO THE RADIO LOST POWER. WHEN THE EPS LIGHT GONE THE STEERING WAS EASY AND RADIO STARTED WORKING. SINCE IT WAS NIGHT, AROUND 11.30 PM, NOT MAY CARS WERE THERE, LUCKILY NOTHING HAPPENED. IT WAS SCARY THAT IF IT WOULD HAPPEN DURING RUSH HOUR. I AM SCARE TO DRIVE THIS CAR. I HAVE TO TAKE THIS CAR TO TOYOTA DEALER TO CHECK THIS OUT.
WHILE DRIVING AT 80 MPH ON FREEWAY THE SUN ROOF EXPLODED. SOUNDED LIKE A GUN SHOT. THE VISOR WAS CLOSED BUT WHEN OPENED TO INSPECT SAW A LARGE HOLE IN THE GLASS AND GLASS WAS SHATTERED. THE TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE WAS ABOUT 39 DEGREES F PARTLY CLOUDY AND THE TIME WAS ABOUT 4:30 PM. THERE WERE NO OTHER VEHICLES AROUND NOR OVERPASSES OR OVERHANGS.
THE PASSENGER'S SIDE FRONT DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR FAILED ON MY 2012 TOYOTA CAMRY FOR THE SECOND TIME. IT WOULD NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK MECHANICALLY AND HAD TO BE MANUALLY LOCKED OR UNLOCKED. IT FAILED PREVIOUSLY LESS THAN TWO YEARS AGO. I HAVE HAD THREE OTHER DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR FAILURES, TOTALING FIVE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR FAILURES ON THE SAME VEHICLE. TOYOTA REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THIS PART.

AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCK AND UNLOCK STOPS WORKING. MY CAR HAD JUST PASSED 60K WHEN THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN OR LOCK BY PRESSING THE KEY FOB. AFTER COUPLE MONTH ALL 4 DOORS HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. I HAVE TO LOCK AND UNLOCK ALL 4 DOORS BY MANUALLY UNLOCKING USING THE KEY. AFTER RESEARCH FOUND OUT THE DOOR ACTUATORS HAVE FAILED ON ALL 4 DOORS AND MULTIPLE TOYOTA AND LEXUS OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE.
I WAS DRIVING WEST ON OK HWY 412, AND I HEARD AN EXPLOSION AND SHATTERED GLASS FALLING INSIDE THE SLIDING COVER. THE SUNROOF HAD EXPLODED. *TR
I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS. I HAVE HAD THE FRONT TWO REPLACED. NOW THE TWO REAR DOORS ARE NOT WORKING APPROPRIATELY. WHEN I GO TO USE THE KEYLESS ENTRY THE LOCKS DO NOT RESPOND AT ALL. I HAVE TO UNLOCK THEM MANUALLY. I FEEL LIKE THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT I SHOULD NOT BE HAVING WITH THIS CAR.

THE FAILURE WAS WITH THE TORQUE CONVERTER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TORQUE CONVERTER WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. THE WARRANTY REPAIR WAS GOOD FOR 8 YEARS OR 160,000 MILES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.

A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE FROM THE CRASH SITE BACK TO HIS RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
SRS AIRLIGHT IS ON. DEALERSHIP SAYS SPIRAL CABLE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE CAR IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD. SHOULD NOT HAVE THIS ISSUE.
THE CAR WAS IN A MAJOR ACCIDENT, OVER $12,000 FRONT END DAMAGE IN A FRONT END COLLISION. A CAR PULLED IN FRONT OF OUR CAR FROM A SIDE STREET. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT INFLATE WHICH IS WHAT IS PROMPTING THIS INQUIRY.
AS I AM ACCELERATING BETWEEN 20-50 MPH THE CAR SHUDDERS. I CALLED MY LOCAL TOYOTA DEALERSHIP AND THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME A DIAGNOSTIC FEE OF $140 JUST TO SEE IF THAT IS THE PROBLEM. MY SON HAS A 2014 AND MY DAUGHTER HAS A 2015 AND ALL HAVE THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM. I HAVE 110,000 MILES ON MY CAR, MY SON 80,000 AND MY DAUGHTER 70,000 MILES. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL SINCE WE ALL HAVE THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM. I AM AFRAID AS WE ARE ACCELERATING TO ENTER THE FREEWAY AND THE CAR IS STALLING WE MIGHT GET HIT FROM BEHIND. ITS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE!
THE STEERING COLUMN ON MY 2012 CAMRY SE WILL NOT STAY IN POSITION. THE LEVER THAT IS SUPPOSED TO LOCK THE COLUMN INTO POSITION KEEPS FALLING OPEN, FROM GRAVITY, ALLOWING THE COLUMN TO TELESCOPE OUT, BE PUSHED IN, PULL UP, OR DOWN, WITH THE VERY LITTLE PRESSURE WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER TELLS ME THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO TO REPAIR THIS, THAT THEY'LL HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE COLUMN FOR $1,400 SINCE MY CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY (OVER 36,000 MILES). THE COLUMN BEING SO PLIANT, FALLING OUT OF POSITION MAKES DRIVING, ESPECIALLY TIGHT TURNING OR SUDDEN STOPS VERY DANGEROUS. *TR

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000.

IT WAS A COLD DAY .WE DID NOT KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TILL MY HUSBAND OPEN UP THE SUNROOF COVER AND ALL THE GLASS STARTED TOO FALL DOWN ON US. WE WHERE NOT AWARE THAT THIS HAPPENED TOO OTHERS. WE WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CAR WITH A SUNROOF.WE HAD TOO PUT TAPE ON IT TOO TRY KEEP FROM FLYING OFF IN ANOTHER PERSON CAR.WE WANT TOO INFORM YOU SO MAYBE YOU CAN GET CAR DEALERSHIP OR THE SUNROOF FACTORY TOO REPLACE OR WARN PEOPLE OF THIS DEFECT.IN THERE PRODUCT.
SEVERAL LUG NUTS HAVE CRACKS IN THEM. AT LEAST ONE LUG NUT HAS MULTIPLE CRACKS. CRACKS WERE NOTED DURING TIRE ROTATION.

2012 TOYOTA CAMRY. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO A DEFECTIVE TORQUE CONVERTER SHUDDER, VEHICLE TRANSMISSION REPROGRAMMED BUT PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. *SMD TOYOTA HAD NO OTHER PROBLEM FOR THE FIX FOR THE PROBLEM AND THE CONSUMER DID NOT RECEIVED ANY FURTHER COMMUNICATION. *JB
I WAS IN MY GYM'S PARKING LOT AND HAD JUST TURNED LEFT INTO A PARKING SPACE. I PLACED MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE TO SLOW THE CAR TO A STOP AS IT MOVED FORWARD INTO THE PARKING SPACE. HOWEVER, THE BRAKE PEDAL DID NOT RESPOND. INSTEAD, THE CAR CONTINUED DRIVING FORWARD ON ITS OWN, AND THEN I HEARD A SOUND OF ACCELERATION, AS IF THE CAR WAS REVVING ITSELF UP TO A HIGHER SPEED. THINKING THAT THE BRAKE HAD NOT ENGAGED, I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE PEDAL AND PLACED IT BACK ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, STEPPING HARDER, BUT THERE WAS NO RESPONSE. AT THIS POINT, WITH MY FOOT STILL ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE CAR JUMPED UP ONTO THE CURB WHILE STILL ACCELERATING ON ITS OWN, RAN OVER THE SIDEWALK. ROLLED UP AND OVER A TWO-FOOT HEDGE THAT RAN PARALLEL TO THE SIDEWALK, THEN CRASHED INTO THE BRICK ENFORCED CONCRETE COLUMN AT THE CORNER OF THE GYM BUILDING. THE BRICK COLUMN STOPPED THE FORWARD MOMENTUM OF THE CAR, BUT LEFT A LARGE DENT IN THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE CAR'S BUMPER THAT WAS EMBEDDED WITH CHUNKS OF CONCRETE. IT ALSO DENTED THE HOOD OF THE CAR, PUSHING IT OUT OF ALIGNMENT. THE AIRBAGS IN THE CAR DID NOT DEPLOY. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE LOCAL TOYOTA DEALER AND HAVE REPORTED MY ACCIDENT TO TOYOTA HEADQUARTERS. I AUTHORIZED THEIR REVIEW OF MY CAR'S EVENT DATA RECORDER AND AM AWAITING THEIR INVESTIGATION REPORT. THIS FRIGHTENING ACCIDENT LEFT ME VERY SHAKEN. IT FELT AS IF I HAD NO CONTROL OVER THE CAR AT ALL. IT SEEMED AS IF SOMETHING HAD TAKEN CONTROL OF THE ACCELERATION OF THE CAR AND MY ATTEMPTS TO STOP THE CAR'S FORWARD MOMENTUM BY STEPPING ON THE BRAKE HAD ZERO IMPACT. THANK GOD NO ONE WAS ON THE SIDEWALK OR I WOULD HAVE KILLED THEM. THESE CARS NEED TO BE RECALLED TO FIND OUT WHAT IS CAUSING THIS POTENTIALLY DEADLY MALFUNCTION. THEY ARE LETHAL WEAPONS ON OUR CITY STREETS!
SUSPENSION PROBLEM: STEERING NEEDS OVER-CORRECTING ON HIGHWAYS TO KEEP VEHICLE GOING STRAIGHT. HITTING ANY DEFECT IN THE ROADBED CAUSES THE CAR TO BOUNCE AND JAR CAUSING DIFFICULTY WITH STEERING AND MAINTAINING SAFE FORWARD TRAVEL. DEALERSHIP SERVICE DIAGNOSIS WAS A LEAKING FRONT STRUT. SERVICE WANTED TO REPLACE LEAKING STRUT FOR $500. (NEW STRUT ONLY). VEHICLE HAS 38,163 MILES. VEHICLE WAS AN OFF-LEASE USED PURCHASE WITH 32,698 MILES. STRUT NOT COVERED BY WARANTY WHICH EXPIRED AT 36,00 MILES.
