TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER COMPLETING AN OIL CHANGE ON THE VEHICLE, A MONTH LATER THE VEHICLE WAS LOW ON OIL. THE CONTACT CONTINUED TO PUT MORE OIL IN THE VEHICLE HOWEVER, THE OIL LEVEL WAS STILL LOW IN THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL DEALER OAK LAWN TOYOTA (4320 95TH ST, OAK LAWN, IL 60453) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE FAILURE FOR THE OIL CONSUMPTION WAS NOT PROVIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
VEHICLE WILL ABRUPTLY STEER TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT WHILE IN MOTION. DOESN'T MATTER IF ON A CITY STREET OR HIGHWAY. TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF WILL SOMETIMES CORRECT THE ISSUE. VEHICLE ONLY HAS 66K MILES.
WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE VEHICLE STARTS TURNING TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT , EVERY SO OFTEN. DOES NOT HAPPEN EVERY TRIP ,BUT ENOUGH TO REALIZE THERE IS A PROBLEM.
AS I DRIVE DOWN A ROAD MOSTLY WHEN CAR IS FIRST STARTED, THE STEERING GOES VERY ERRATIC. IT GETS A WIDE RANGE OF MOVEMENT AND FEELS AS IF I AM LOSING CONTROL. THIS IS HAPPENING MORE OFTEN AS I DRIVE IT. MY HUSBAND LOOKED IT UP AND THERE HAD BEEN SOME RECALLS FOR STEERING IN THE 2015 CAMRY, BUT, NO RECALL FOR MY CAR WHEN I PUT IN MY VIN #.
WHEN DRIVING THE CAR AND ACCELERATING, NOTICE A SLIGHT SHUDDER. WHEN THE TORQUE CONVERTER IS LOCKED, THE SHUTTER GOES AWAY. IT DOES THIS WHEN ACCELERATING FREQUENTLY. WHEN I FELL THE SHUDDER, IF I INCREASE ACCELERATION, THE SHUDDER STOPS. I SUSPECT THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE TORQUE CONVERTER.

THE CONTACT CALLED AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS NOTIFIED OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V144000 (STEERING) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND CONFIRMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE CONTACT WAS PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 44,700.
WHEN DRIVING MY WHEEL WILL RANDOMLY START VEERING TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT. THE WHEEL ALSO BECOMES MUCH LOOSER AND IS HARDER TO CONTROL. THIS CAN HAPPEN WHILE MY CAR IS STATIONARY OR WHILE IN MOTION. IT HAPPENS RANDOMLY.
WHILE DRIVING STEERING STARTED PULLING TO THE LEFT OR THE RIGHT. ALIGNMENT, OUTER, INNER TIE RODS, LOWER AND UPPER BALL JOINTS AND STRUT MOUNTS ALL CHECKED NORMAL. NO WARNING LIGHTS OR CODES. CAR GOES STRAIGHT AFTER TURNING OFF AND BACK BUT CAN SUDDENLY START PULLING. CHECKED FOR RECALLS AND CAR VIN IS NOT PART OF CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V144000 (STEERING) WHICH IS EXACTLY THE PROBLEM I'M HAVING THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO O'BRIENS TOYOTA LOCATED AT 2550 SHADELAND AVE, INDIANAPOLIS, IN 46219 WHO PERFORMED A FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT. THE TIRES WERE REPLACED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 102,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE STEERING BECOMES UNRESPONSIVE FOR A PERIOD OF TIME, SOMETIMES PULLS ONE WAY OTHER TIMES THE OTHER WAY. THEN IT WORKS FINE, THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR SEVERAL DAYS AND IS VERY UNPREDICTABLE AND DANGEROUS WHEN YOU CONTROL OF YOUR STEERING ABILITY. IT ALWAYS HAPPENS WHEN IN MOTION, AND IT'S HAPPENED BOTH ON CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAY GOING AT 20 MPH AND WHEN ON HIGHWAY IT SEEMED TO CORRECT IT SELF AT 50-60 MPH??
IN 2015, THE TOYOTA CAMRY SE SUDDENLY DID NOT START, SO I THOUGHT IT WAS A BATTERY PROBLEM AND CHANGED IT, BUT THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURRED AND IT WAS SENT TO THE REPAIR SHOP FOR INSPECTION AND THE STARTING FUSE DISAPPEARED. THEN, BEFORE THE PROBLEM OCCURRED, THE RIGHT DOOR GLASS OPEN SWEETIE DID NOT WORK AMONG THE SWITCHES ON THE DRIVER SIDE.
CAR PULLS STRONGLY TO THE LEFT. MECHANIC SAID SUSPENSION IS GOOD,MUST BE ELECTRIC STEERING. TIRES ARE GOOD. CAR WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET. THE PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. NHTSA CAMPAIGN # 15V144000
WAS DRIVING AND SLOWING DOWN FOR A LIGHT AND COULD FEEL THAT CAR WAS LOSING CONTROL AND BREAKS DID NOT SEEM TO WORK PROPERLY, THEN THE CARE STALLED AND STOPPED, SO TURNED CAR OFF AND TURNED BACK ON AGAIN AND STARTED. SAME THING HAPPENED ABOUT 10 TIMES AND WHEN I FINALLY WENT BACK HOME BECAUSE I WAS AFRAID TO GO FURTHER, I COULD SMELL GAS WHEN I EXITED MY VEHICLE. EACH TIME IT STALLED, I HAD TO RESTART IN ORDER TO GO AGAIN, VERY SCARRY AND EVERYONE BEEPING AT ME DOESNT HELP.

I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE AND SUDDENLY I COMPLETELY LOSS POWER STEERING CONTROL. I NEARLY CRASHED! BOUGHT WITH 22K MILES ABOUT 1 1/2 YEARS AGO. THE CRUISE CONTROL SPEED AND THE SPEEDOMETER ISSUES HAVE ALWAYS BEEN PRESENT. WHEN USING CRUISE CONTROL (UNDER 45 SUBURBAN AND URBAN STREETS) THE CAR SOMETIMES CANNOT REGULATE ON SLIGHT INCLINES AND SPEEDS UP BY UP TO 5 MPH OVER SETTING AND DOESN'T DECELERATE. SEVERAL TIMES IT'S DONE IT ON FLAT ROADS. IT'S NEVER DONE THIS ON THE FREEWAY EVEN COMING UP SLOPES. IT'S RARE THAT MY DIGITAL SPEED READING IS THE SAME AS MY SET CRUISE CONTROL SPEED. MY DIGITAL SPEED READING ALSO USUALLY DIFFERS FROM MY SPEEDOMETER BY ABOUT 2-4 MPH ALSO, SOMETIME LAST SUMMER AN ISSUE WITH MY BRAKES HAS BEEN OCCURRING AND IS BECOMING MORE FREQUENT. WHEN FIRST STARTING MY CAR (I NOTICE IT ON DAMP OR DEWY MORNINGS) I CAN HEAR MY BRAKES AS I'M BACKING DOWN MY SLIGHTLY SLOPED, CEMENT DRIVEWAY. I PUT MY CAR IN REVERSE AND BARELY TAP THE GAS BECAUSE I GO VERY SLOWLY BECAUSE WE HAVE A SHORT DRIVEWAY (35-40FT TOTAL) AND A LITTLE LIP AT THE ENTRANCE WHERE THE DRIVEWAY MEETS OUR CULDESAC. DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT HIT A HIGHWAY GUARDRAIL; THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY UPON IMPACT. THE CONTACT RECEIVED MEDICAL ATTENTION AT THE SCENE AND WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO HIS NECK, SHOULDER AND HEAD. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. DUE TO THE ACCIDENT, THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED AND TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT TOW YARD. THE MANUFACTURER NOR THE DEALER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE ACCIDENT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 66,000.

I HAVE COME CLOSE TO HAVING AN ACCIDENT SEVERAL TIMES UNTIL I REALIZED I COULD CORRECT THE PULLING BY STOPPING AND RESTARTING THE VEHICLE WITH THE WHEELS POINTING STRAIGHT.THE 2015 CAMRY HAS A RECALL ON THE STEERING ISSUE (#15V144000) BUT TOYOTA MANUFACTURER STATES THAT MY VIN # ISN'T COVERED UNDER THAT RECALL. I HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS (50+) ON LINE AND WITH BLUEBOOK ON THE SAME ISSUE. I DON'T SEE ANY INVESTIGATION ON THIS ISSUE ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE. MAYBE THE RECALL NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED. IF I PAY TOYOTA TO FIX THE ISSUE AND A RECALL IS ISSUED IS TOYOTA REQUIRED TO REIMBURSE ME? THE PROBLEM STARTED SPORADICALLY IN MARCH 2020 BUT MORE OFTEN NOW. WITH COVID-19 I HAVEN'T BEEN DRIVING REGULARLY.
MY MOTHER WAS IN AN ACCIDENT THAT COST HER LIFE. THE BLACK BOX ON THE CAR SAYS THAT THERE WAS A MALFUNCTION IN THE POWER STEERING THAT CAUSED THE CAR TO PULL SHARPLY TO THE LEFT. THIS CAUSED HER TO HIT A CONCRETE MEDIAN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WHERE HER AIRBAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. HER SPINE BROKE IN 4 PLACES AND SUFFERED 7 BROKEN RIBS.*DT*JB

I PREVIOUSLY MADE A COMPLAINT ABOUT MY 2015 TOYOTA CAMRY. I ATTACHED A COPY OF MY COMPLAINT TO THIS COMPLAINT. I AM NOW EXPERIENCING LOSS OF POWER WHILE I DRIVE FROM THE TORQUE CONVERTER SHUDDER ISSUE I AM HAVING. CAR IS SHAKING RATHER THAN A VIBRATION NOW BETWEEN SPEED OF 40MPH TO 50MPH. THIS IS UNSAFE

LOSS OF ELECTRICAL POWER STEERING Automatic cruise control affected- not working. THE CAR HAS 32K MILES ON IT. WHEN THE SPEED REACHES AROUND 32 THERE'S A SHUDDER/VIBRATION WHICH IS ACCOMPANIED BY RPM DROP BEFORE SHIFTING TO NEXT GEAR. WHEN TRYING TO MAINTAIN THE SPEED AROUND 42/43 (INNER ROADS), 62/65 (FREEWAYS) TORQUE CONVERTOR LOCKS UP ACCOMPANIED BY LOWER RPM AND THE SHUDDER/VIBRATION BEGINS WHICH IS CLEARLY FELT ON GAS PEDALS, STEERING WHEELS AND DOORS AND FEEL LIKE DRIVING ON BUMPY ROAD, THE ONLY WAY TO GET OUT OF THE VIBRATION IS TO EITHER GIVE MORE POWER/ACCELERATION SO THAT IT RELEASES LOCK UP AND SHIFTS GEARS (OR) JUST RELEASE THE GAS PEDAL SO THAT IT SLOWS DOWN AND COMES OUT OF LOCK-UP. WHEN VIBRATION HAPPENS, GIVING POWER/PRESSING ACCELERATOR WILL INCREASE THE VIBRATION WITH NO INCREASE IN SPEED UNTIL IT SHIFTS TO OTHER GEARS, CHECKED WITH A COUPLE OF DEALERS TO GET AN OPINION BUT THE ANSWER I AM GETTING IS THERE IS NO CODE IN THE HEALTH CHECK AND THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING WITHOUT ANY CODE OR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. ONE TECHNICIAN ADMITTED THAT ITS TORQUE CONVERTOR LOCKUP VIBRATION. THEY WILL NOT DIAGNOSE OR PERFORM ANY OTHER OPERATIONS WITHOUT ANY CODE OR ITS COMPLETELY BROKEN. TORQUE CONVERTER REPLACEMENT WILL COST AROUND 3K BASED ON DEALER INFO. BASED ON TOYOTA'S INTERNET FORUMS AND OTHER COMPLAINTS IN THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH TORQUE CONVERTOR AND TOYOTA SHOULD COME FORWARD TO REPLACE IT OR FIX IT SIMILAR TO THEIR 2014/2014.5 MODELS, WHICH ARE SUPPOSED TO BE FIXED WITH THE 2015 MODELS. MY CAR STARTED A HAVING A VIBRATION/SHUDDER WHILE BEING DRIVEN ON THE STREET AND FREEWAY FROM SPEEDS OF 25MPH TO 50MPH. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT AND ON TURNS . I THOUGHT MAYBE IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION BUT AFTER I LOOKED ONLINE TO SEE IF ANYONE ELSE HAS HAD THIS ISSUE I LEARNED THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I HAVE THE SAME EXACT SYMPTOMS AS THEY DO. ITS SEEMS TO BE THE TORQUE CONVERTER. I LOOKED UP THE HISTORY OF THIS TORQUE PROBLEM AND IT GOES BACK AS FAR AS 2011 FOR TOYOTA CAMRY. I NEED THIS FIX BY TOYOTA AND TOYOTA SHOULD HONOR GIVEN THAT THE ISSUE WAS NOT FIX FROM THE PREVIOUS YEAR MODEL.

WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, SOMETIMES THE CAR WOULD EITHER VEER TO THE LEFT OR THE RIGHT AND YOU CAN'T CONTROL THE STEERING WHEEL. YOU HAVE TO STOP THE CAR TURN THE CAR OFF AND THEN TURN IT BACK ON AND THEN START DRIVING AGAIN. SOMETIMES IT WILL ALSO ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN OR NOT ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN EVEN IF YOU ARE CONTROLLING THE GAS PEDAL THE CAR DOES WHAT IT WANTS. THIS IS VERY SCARY BECAUSE ONE TIME WE ALMOST HIT A CURB WITH THE TIRES BECAUSE YOU COULDN'T CONTROL THE CAR IT WAS GOING WHERE I WANTED TO. THE TIRES WERE OUT EXTREMELY FAST I NEVER HAVE TO PAY FOR NEW TIRES BECAUSE THEY WEAR OUT WAY BEFORE THE WARRANTY THERE LIKE BALD WITH IN LIKE A COUPLE MONTHS SOMETIMES EVEN TO JUST TWO MONTHS AND THEY'RE BALD AND THE ALIGNMENT SPINE I'VE HAD IT CHECKED. I CHANGE ALL THE FLUIDS ON TIME AND TAKING CARE OF MAINTAINING THE CAR I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY IT'S DOING THIS CAN YOU PLEASE FIGURE IT OUT?

AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY IN CAR ACCIDENT. ALSO, THE ENGINE DID NOT SHUT OFF DURING THE SAME CAR ACCIDENT.
CAR PULLS EITHER LEFT OR RIGHT. WHEN MAKING A TURN STEERING WHEEL DOES NOT RETURN. THE CAR JUST KEEPS TURNING. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON VERY LOW SPEEDS OR SPEEDS OF 35 TO 45 MPH. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SENSOR PROBLEM, ALTERNATOR PROBLEM OR SOMETHING INVOLVING THE TOW BAR OR RACK AND PINION ASSEMBLY.
HI , I'M REPORTING THIS STEERING PROBLEM CAUSE IT'S GETTING WORSE AND STILL NO RECALL. I TOOK IT IN AND TOYOTA CODED IT ON COMPUTER AND NO CODE CAME UP. THEY NEVER TEST DROVE IT EITHER. WHILE DRIVING UNDER 30 MPH THE STEERING PULLS HARD TO THE LEFT, DIFFICULT TO KEEP STRAIGHT AND IN THE LANE. STEERING FELT LIGHT AND SLOPPY, LIKE A LOW TIRE OR STEERING GEAR ISSUE, VERY DANGEROUS. FASTER SPEEDS NOT AS BAD. TOWED TO DEALER, DIAGNOSED AS A "LOW VOLTAGE BATTERY". CAR STARTED AS USUAL WITH NO WARNING OF INDICATIONS OF A PROBLEM AND NO WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN A WARNING LIGHT BUT IT NEVER CAME ON. THE MANUAL SAYS IT MAY COME ON. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN THE STEERING ACTS UP WITHOUT ANY OTHER WARNINGS. THIS IS PROBABLY A WIDE SPREAD PROBLEM AND NOT ISOLATED TO JUST MY CAR, ANY TOYOTA WITH ELECTRIC POWER STEERING.

VEHICLE DRIVING NORMALLY UNTIL 85000 MILES. SPORADICALLY NOW PULLS HARD TO RIGHT OR LEFT AT LOW SPEEDS. SEEMS DEPENDENT UPON WHEEL POSITION WHEN IGNITION IS TURNED OFF. WHEN THE ISSUE OCCURS, TURNING THE WHEELS TO STRAIGHT POSITION PRIOR TO TURNING IGNITION OFF SEEMS TO CORRECT TEMPORARILY.
MY 2015 CAMRY PULLS TO THE RIGHT AT A LOW SPEEDS (5-35MPH) THE STEERING IS VERY SENSITIVE, AND WHEN I CORRECT THE POSITION AND LET GO OF THE STEERING WHEEL, IT GOES BACK TO THE RIGHT. HOWEVER IT DOES ALIGN AFTER I REACH A CERTAIN SPEED (40MPH>), AND THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO DISAPPEAR UNTIL THE NEXT MORNING OR WHEN I GO SOMEWHERE AND HAVE TO START THE CAR UP AGAIN.
THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED IN A DRIVEWAY, I SHIFTED THE TRANSMISSION INTO REVERSE AND THE THROTTLE ACCELERATED FULL ON. I TRIED TO BRAKE THE VEHICLE AND TURN IT OUT OF THE STREET BUT I COULD NOT OVERRIDE THE ACCELERATION AND BACKED INTO A BOLDER RETAINING WALL. TOYOTA INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND SAID IT SHOWED ACCELERATION AND BRAKING BUT DENIED RESPONSIBILITY.
LEFT MY HOME AT 7:55 AM THIS MORNING TO DRIVE TO WORK ON CITY STREETS. MAX SPEED 55. ARRIVED AT WORK APPROX. 7 MIN LATER AND PARKED. LEFT WORK AT 5:30 PM TO GO HOME. ON THE WAY I NOTICED THE STEERING WHEEL WAS MISALIGNED AND THE CAR WAS PULLING TO THE RIGHT AT MODERATE SPEEDS. MAX SPEED 45MPH. IT SEEMS TO ROLL STRAIGHT AT SPEEDS BELOW 10 MPH AND PULLS AT SPEEDS ABOVE 10 MPH.
I HAD A BAD ACCIDENT LAST WEEK , MY CAR SLIPPED ON THE ROAD BECAUSE OF THE WEATHER AND I COULDN'T CONTROL IT AND I HIT THE OTHER CAR WAS COMING ON THE OTHER LANE AND WE BOTH HIT THE METAL FENCE ON THE ROAD AND MY AIR BAGS DID NOT BLOW UP. AND THAT HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY.

ON HARDER ACCELERATION (SUCH AS PULLING INTO BUSY TRAFFIC OR ON A HIGHWAY/INTERSTATE WHEN ACCELERATION IS KEY TO SAFETY) ENGINE RPM AT AROUND 3000 RPM THE ENGINE LOSES POWER/CAR STALLS BUT DOESN'T CUT OUT UNTIL THE GAS PEDAL IS LET OFF AND PRESSED AGAIN SOMETIMES MULTIPLE TIMES. NO CODES OR DASH WARNING LIGHTS. DEALERSHIP ADVISED THAT THE FUEL PUMP WAS CHECKED. FUEL PUMP WAS WEAK WITH LOW FUEL PSI. REPLACED FUEL PUMP. NO PROBLEMS NOW. WITH NEW TOYOTA RECALL ON FUEL PUMPS, MAYBE IT SHOULD BE EXPANDED.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT HE WOULD NEED AN EXTENSION TOOL TO USE THE JACK PROPERLY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 45,296.
WO WEEKS AGO THE STEERING WHEEL PULLED TO THE RIGHT. WOULD NOT STOP PULLING UNTIL I TURNED OFF THE IGNITION. SOMETIME TURNING THE IGNITION OFF DID NOT HELP. YESTERDAY STEERING WHEEL PULLED TO THE LEFT! WOULD NOT STOP UNTIL IGNITION TURNED OFF. PROBLEM IS WORST AT LOW SPEED, OR STOPED AND THEN ACCERATING SLOWLY. CITY STREET IS WORST, AND TURING WHILE ACCERATING CAR PULLS EITHER LEFT OR RIGHT AT RANDOM
