P20565R16 all four tires. These tires from Bridgestone have a UTQG rating of 640 A A with a "warranty" by the manufacture of 75,000 miles. The current set of tires on my car have approximately 18,000 miles and are very worn. The tire wear gauge reads 5/32 reaming tread. I doubt that the next 3/32 (5/32 - 2/32) will give me the remaining 57,000 miles. I buy my tires based on the UTQG rating. It's a good indicator of tire wear and has been fairly reliable up to this point. I Googled the tire to see if others have similar experience. The answer was YES. It appears that Bridgestone has a problem with tire wear on these tires. Reviews all pointed to terrible tire wear. Sadly, My wife's car had Firestone tires that we just replaced. Those had only 22,000 miles, but had a 600 UTQG rating. It appears that Firestone /Bridgestone do not know how tear wear works. First time in my life I was this disappointed in a tire company, but Firestone certainly had it's share of problems in the past. Someone needs to do an evaluation of Firestone tire rating practice. For me, it's too late. Thanks.
The contact owns a 2015 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact became aware that the electronic power steering was not functioning properly, requiring the steering wheel be manually returned to center upon completing a turn. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the steering sensor. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V144000 (Steering), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 174,000.
I am writing to report a serious incident involving my 2015 Toyota Camry LE (VIN: [XXX] ), which I believe is connected to a potential defect or recall issue. On [XXX], I was involved in a car crash that resulted in my vehicle being totaled. The circumstances of the crash strongly suggest that it was caused or exacerbated by issue sudden loss of power steering assistance The details of the crash are as follows: Date/Time: [XXX] Location: [XXX] Fall River While driving at low speeds, I experienced a sudden loss of power steering, making it difficult to control the vehicle and avoid a collision. I am deeply concerned about the potential safety implications of this issue and believe it may be related to [NHTSA campaign ID 15V144000 or defect steering electric power assis INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The sunroofs have a drain which sometimes can plug up. This car was maintained several times a year since purchase by Toyota dealer. When the drain plugged up this fall, water backed up and came down inside of the passenger compartment on top of the electrical fuses, body computer. The leak IS NOT DETECTABLE by owner or occupant. But when it manifests itself, it does so with the Blind Spot Monitor failing randomly, the seat belt warning lights might or might not work, the airbag safety system fails, sometimes the whole instrument dash acts erractic including random on/off blinking, the tire pressure monitoring system fails. All these problems can occur before owner is ever aware of the problem. Since one of the items that is getting corrosion is a fuse block - potential fire while parked in a garage or while being drive is a possibility. In an accident failure of air bags can result in a fatality. I'm an engineer, so when things started blinking on dash - I took pictures or had another occupant take pictures. I showed them to the dealer service - they didn't make the connection with corrosion on the body computer that monitors and manages all the systems including the anti-lock and rollover system. It's in for repair at dealer now, now idea on the cost - but they've said damage is extensive AND we caught it before most people encounter it. I checked and could find no Toyota Service Bulletin that warned to look for the problem, repair techs had vehicle for week trying to find problem - and it took me insisting on looking for corrosion before they found it. This should result in: 1)Toyota special service bulletin to inspect every year and verify sunroof drain not blocked. 2) read diagnostics codes of the body network computer for issues, 3)Toyota special service recall to repair damage free to customers.
The contact owns a 2015 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds and attempting to decelerate, there was an abnormal sound while depressing the brake pedal and the brake went to the floorboard. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the brake master cylinder and brake pump might need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 82,600.
The contact owns a 2015 Toyota Camry. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH and attempting to activate the headlights, the vehicle lost motive power with the ABS and stabili-trak warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was able to restart; however, the failure recurred. The dealer was not contacted, and the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 84,256.
I have the same issue described in a recall notice for my year make and model. My EPS light is coming on and I'm losing power to the vehicle. My VIN was not included in the recall. Steering: Electric power assist system Recall date 2015-03-12 Recall no.15V144000. This is very concerning as it could cause an accident resulting in injuries or death. I would like to have my vehicle checked for the recall.
I was in an accident going approximately 35 mph. The car was deemed a total loss after inspection. There was damage to both left and right bumper, hood and pretty much the entire front of the car crumpled. The airbags did not deploy at all. I believe they failed and should have deployed
The contact owns a 2015 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that while driving at undisclosed speeds, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 64,000.
Intermittent EPS warning light illuminates during highway driving with steering wheel lock-up subsequently followed by a reset of certain electrically powered items associated with but not necessarily limited to the following systems: 1. Stability Control System warning indication 2. TPMS light 3. Radio power cycles 4. Check engine light. After turning the car off and then back on again these issues clear initially, but will intermittently happen at random durations of time anywhere from an additional 1 to 3 hours of driving. I've been discussing with Toyota Customer Service, who has known issues with the 2015 Toyota Camry under NHTSA Campaign ID: 15V144000, but they are trying to tell me that it only applies to V6 and Hybrid 2015 Camry's. I feel that this is also applicable to my vehicle VIN: [XXX] . I feel Toyota is refusing to acknowledge this critical safety issue affecting more 2015 Toyota Camry vehicles. I've never had an issue like this with 5 other previously owned vehicles. When asked if I could pay for the fix myself they informed me that it is not possible without a recall! My Toyota dealer is refusing to fix the issue and Toyota Customer Service hasn't responded in over 3 weeks to my inquiry. The ABS system failure with out warning and it was hard to control on the HWY
The car burns oil excessively, I bought this car 11/07/2022 every week to 2 weeks I have to put 2-2 1/2 quarts of oil in. There is nothing wet under the car no oil stains anywhere so oil is not leaking. I spend so much money on oil it's not normal.
To the esteemed officials of the US Department of Transportation, My name is [XXX] and I am the owner of a 2015 Toyota Camry SE. I recently had my car repaired for a completely separate issue and while I addressed a problem with the steering, my mechanic made me aware of a 2015 recall for the Electrical Power Steering electronic control unit. I was provided with information regarding it. While my VIN number was not listed as an automobile affected by this issue, it is evident that this is what's occurring. My days have been spent on the phone with the manufacturer and was told numerous times that my VIN number was not identified in said recall. As a result, I was told not to drive my car due to it being a safety concern, meaning I could lose overall control of the car, and I am now lacking transportation. Please advise on how to proceed, I would like to get this matter resolved in a reasonable time. Sincerely, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The steering wheel clockspring ribbon was worn down in the middle, resulting in an open circuit of the SRS. The wear is between the ribbon and inside wall of the container that houses the ribbon. It appears to be a designing flaw or manufacturing defect. The wear was discovered by tearing down the clockspring unit. Airbag light on the dashboard was lit in November 2023. Replaced the clockspring unit on 2/17/2024. Without fixing the problem, the airbag on the steering wheel does not function when needed.
Steering pulls and is loose. Worse when braking. Intermittent problem. Acts like what I see has been recall on the 2015 Camry. Why not my vehicle? Just started. I have owned vehicle since 2017.
The contact owns a 2015 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 60 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently decelerated, and the RPM’s decreased to 0 and the vehicle jerked. The check engine warning light, electronic stability control, and traction control warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that she was able to veer the vehicle off the road. The vehicle was taken to a transmission specialist where the contact was informed that the electrical had failed and the EPS and ECU needed to be replaced. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V1440000 (Steering). The dealer was contacted, and an appointment was scheduled. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was provided a case number and advised to contact the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 83,000.
The torque converted on the 2015 Camry is failing. This was a known defect on the 2012-2014 models. Toyota offered a recall on those models but not the 2015. Many other owners are also reporting a faulty torque converter on their cars. The is the exact same issue as the previous model year but Toyota is not covering the defect. This poses a major safety risk as acceleration is inconsistent and compromised while driving the vehicle. Eventually this will lead to complete transmission failure while driving the vehicle which again poses a major safety risk.
The steering is loose and rattles. Difficulty with car control over 40 mph. Mechanic said they didn't see a safety issue but there is a broken part in the steering mechanism. No warning lights.
My 2015 Toyota Camry has been experiencing a shudder between the speeds of 30-40 MPH. I am now experiencing it between 50-60 MPR and it's a heavier shudder. I am learning from research that is the torque converter which was covered under warranty for Camrys made in 2012 to 2014 but NOT 2015. My car was purchased in January of 2015 so I consider this made under that recall time frame. My vehicle is starting to get worse and I don't know what will happen when it gets even worse. I have had my vehicle looked at by two mechanics who have told me this is what it is and to call Toyota about it. I am in that process right now. No warning lights have come on for this issue. This is very concerning and I am super disappointed so far seeing that Toyota has not warrantied the 2015 model year. I love my Camry minus this HUGE problem.
Over this past year my power steering light flickered on and off randomly and my radio/lights will turn off completely while driving. Over the last 30 days it has been difficult to turn my car , especially in slow or tight turns and the car make a loud humming/grinding sound in turns.
The car start having a small sound like something is loose, and over time the sound is more aggressive Steering column problem was been confirmed by a independent service center And the call was made to one of the Toyota centers asking for any recalls for that problem the car is having , and a prize for the part, they give the information that lately they already repair a hundred cars with the same problem !! Imaging the risk of that steering column represent The car has low miles
The contact owns a 2015 Toyota Camry. The contact stated while driving 20-30 MPH and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle started shuddering and there was a 20-30 seconds lag in acceleration, which required the contact to release and to depress the accelerator pedal until the vehicle responded as needed. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the torque converter had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.
THE VEHICLE IS EXHIBITING A TORQUE CONVERTER SHUDDER BETWEEN 20-50 MPH, SAME SYMPTOMS AS THE 2012-2014 CAMRY RECALL.
The contact owned a 2015 Toyota Camry. The contact stated while driving at 70 MPH during nighttime, an animal jumped on the roadway and veered to the side attempting to avoid the animal. The steering wheel failed to turn in the desired direction and crashed into a guard rail. During the crash, the contact's head was hurt by the steering wheel, and no air bags deployed. The vehicle was towed by the insurance company and deemed a total loss. A police report was filed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown. The VIN was not available.
I had no problems with my 2015 Toyota Camry SE that does not even have 90,000 miles on it, and then I started experiencing a shutter when driving between 25 and 50mph. It feels like you are driving over rumble sticks in the roadway, or an abnormal shaking. There is no warning light illuminated on my dashboard ex: engine light. If I take my foot of the accelerator pedal the shutter/shaking would stop or if I pushed on the accelerator to go faster, it will come out of the shutter/shaking also. While I was getting an oil change at the Toyota dealership, I spoke with the Toyota customer service representative about the closed recall (T-SB-0312-17) for this issue on 2012-2014 Toyota Camry's while doing research on this issue and I was told that Toyota has no plans on doing another recall because they have fixed the problem and I would have to have the car fixed myself which could cost upwards of $3,000.00 out of pocket. Why should a customer have to pay hundreds of dollars to have their car diagnosed for a known problem based on internet forums and other Toyota complaints. The engine light is not on, so a code may not even show up. I cannot afford to pay that, and Toyota should stand by their vehicles, stop giving customers the run around and do another recall as this is a big safety issue of faulty parts which can cause a major accident if the car loses power and stalls.
When the battery voltage is low, the power steering is loose. It becomes difficult to steer.
The contact owns a 2015 Toyota Camry. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, a warning chime sounded. The steering warning light and other unknown warning lights illuminated; however, the vehicle continued to operate normally and without incident. Upon investigation, the contact became aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V144000 (Steering) which she associated to the failure. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 170,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that while driving, the steering wheel was pulling to the right. The contact called the local dealer where an appointment was scheduled. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 68,000.

The steering wheel veers hard to the right and is very loose, uncontrollable, and inconsistent. In a situation that would require rapid response, this malfunction would make it dangerous because you lose the precise and responsive steering functions necessary to maneuver accurately. This has happened about six different times and seems random. It will disappear when I turn off the car. The vehicle has not been inspected for the problem. There were no warning lamps or other indicators.
Pulls hard to the left at times at speeds less than 40 mph It is an intermittent problem Not caused by tires or wheels - they have been changed
The contact owns a 2015 Toyota Camry. The contact stated her son was at a standstill at a traffic light when he was rear-ended and caused him to shoot forward and crash into another vehicle. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. No air bags deployed. The driver sustained neck injuries and did seek medical attention at an urgent care center. A police report was filed. The vehicle was not drivable. The vehicle was towed to a towing lot. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
When traveling down the road, the car veers to the left and I must keep turning the steering wheel to the right to correct the pulling. Usually happens when the engine is cold, but is intermittent. Happens two-three time per month. I once brought to dealer while happening, but they found no issues. They kept the vehicle overnight but couldn’t repeat the problem. A week later it started pulling to the left again. I asked dealer if others had the same problem, they knew of none.
ENGINE SHUTS OFF WHEN I SLOW DOWN AND STOP THE CAR.
CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AS IT SHOULD, TRANSMISSION WILL SHUDDER AND CAN'T APPLY FULL POWER BETWEEN 20 /50 MILERS PER HOUR TO THE WHEELS

The door just open on the driver seat twice during the time I'm crossing a steep train railroad crossing
RECENTLY WE HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING A SOFT STEERING RESPONSE, AND THE VEHICLE VIOLENTLY VEERS TO THE RIGHT (AT ANY SPEED). WEIRDLY THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN ALL THE TIME BUT HAS BEEN SPORADIC, BUT MORE AND MORE FREQUENT. THE MOST RECENT WAS ON 1/19/21. SURPRISINGLY AFTER THE CAR WAS TURNED OFF, AND THEN ON AGAIN, THE ISSUE DISAPPEARED COMPLETELY. OUR BIGGEST FEAR IS IF THIS ERRATIC STEERING ISSUE WERE TO SUDDENLY START ACTING UP AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. OUR CAMRY WAS PURCHASED IN DEC'14, AND WE HAVE NOTICED THERE WERE A RECALL FOR SOME CAMRYS' OF THAT YEAR. COULD OUR CAMRY BATCH HAVE SIMILAR ISSUES, HOWEVER THE PROBLEMS NOT AS APPARENT AS THOSE ALREADY RECALLED? PLEASE INVESTIGATE AS STEERING ISSUES SEEM TO BE THE TOP PROBLEM FOR THE 2015 CAMRY ON CARPROBLEMZOO.COM, AND MANY PEOPLE ARE ALSO NOTING THE SAME DEFECT BUT THEIR CAR'S VIN IS NOT ON ANY RECALL LIST. THIS COINCIDENCE SEEM QUITE HIGH ESPECIALLY FOR A YEAR WITH STEERING PROBLEM RECALLS, BUT SOMEHOW ONLY COVERING CERTAIN VINS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE WOULD PULL TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO STEER THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE CONTACT HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO FALLON FORD-TOYOTA (1351 W WILLIAMS AVE, FALLON, NV 89406; (775) 423-2171) WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE, THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V144000 (STEERING) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND CONFIRMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,200.
NORMAL STEERING WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH, THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN STEERING GOES SOFT AND VEERS TO THE RIGHT. CHECKED AIR PRESSURE REPORTING NORMAL. WOULD HAPPEN INTERMITTENT DURING THE FORTY MINUTE DRIVE. THOUGHT IT WAS STRANGE.
CAR SPORADICALLY PULLS TO THE LEFT WHETHER OR NOT I AM TURNING. AFTER IGNITION IS TURNED OFF AND THEN CAR STARTED, CAR DRIVES NORMALLY. THIS HAS OCCURRED 5 OR 6 TIMES WITHIN THE LAST MONTH. I UNDERSTAND THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS FOR AN ELECTRONIC STEERING COMPONENT, BUT MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL. THIS IS ALSO STATED BY MANY OTHER OWNERS ONLINE..
THE WHEEL STARTS PULLING RIGHT AND THEN GOES BACK TO NORMAL. ALSO VERY HARD TO TURN WITH A POPPING NOISE THEN WENT BACK TO NORMAL. THE PROBLEM PERSISTS MORE OFTEN AND ONLY WANTS TO TURN RIGHT. IT ALSO DOES IT ON MAIN STREETS HIGHWAY ETC OFF AND ON SEEMS DANGEROUS.
TOOK CAR TO TOYOTA SERVICE STATION FOR MAINTENANCE. SERVICE STATION HAD A HARD TIME GETTING HOOD OPENED. THE HOOD LATCH ASSEMBLY WAS RUSTED. I WAS RECOMMENDED TO BUY A NEW ONE, ALSO ADVISED THAT NEXT TIME TO GET IT OPENED IT MAY HAVE TO BE BROKEN OFF. IT MAY BE POSSIBLE THAT THE HOOD MAY GET STUCK IN THE OPENED POSITION, OR COME OPENED. I DID NOT PURCHASE IT. I BELIEVE THAT THE PROBLEM IS A VEHICLE DEFECT THAT SHOULD NOT OCCUR AND SHOULD BE CORRECTED.
