I BOUGHT A NEW TOYOTA CAMRY 2018 LE NEARLY 2 YEARS AGO. I BOUGHT A NEW CAR FOR WORK ALTHOUGH SINCE MY SON GAVE ME HIS CAR I STARTED USING HIS AND LEFT MINE TO USE FOR THE GYM. AS NOW I AM USING MY 2018 CAMRY NOW MORE FREQUENTLY I HAVE STARTED TO NOTICE WHEN I APPLY ACCELERATION HARD FROM STOP THERE IS A DELAY BEFORE CAR PICKS UP SPEED. ALSO WHEN I AM IN MOTION AND ACCELERATE I BELIEVE THE CAMRY IS DECIDING BETWEEN GEARS AND JERKS WHEN IT SELECTS THE GEAR IT WANTS.
RODENT DAMAGED WIRING HARNESS FOR DIRECT INJECTION SYSTEM WHILE WHILE VEHICLE WAS PARKED OUTSIDE HOME AT NIGHT. AFTER REPAIR, DAMAGE HAPPENED AGAIN, DEALER AND MANUFACTURER RESPONSE WAS THAT I WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR REPIAR AND SUGGESTED AN ADHOC SET OF SOLUTIONS TO DISCOURAGE ANIMALS -- DRYER SHEETS, PINESOL, COMMERCIAL ANIMAL REPELLENT.
THE CAR COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP WHILE DRIVING. I WAS DRIVING ON A BUSINESS STREET ROUTE , DAY WAS CLEAR. TRAVELING IN MOTION AT 45-50 MPH. THE RED BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON AND IMMEDIATELY STOPS THE CAR. I HAVE TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAVE SEEN THE STOPPING ON THE COMPUTER AND SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN TODAY ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCICDENT AGAIN
WHILE DRIVING AND TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL, THE STEERING STIFFENS UP AND THEN RELEASES ABOUT EVERY 5 DEGREES BEFORE STIFFENING UP AGAIN. THIS IS AN ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED POWER STEERING.
IF YOU SLOW TO A ROLL THEN TRY TO ACCELERATE, IT JERKS REAL BAD LIKE IT DOES NOT KNOW WHAT GEAR TO GO INTO. TAPPING FROM THE ENGINE BAY THAT COMES AND GOES. THE BRAKE ASSIST FEATURE CAUSE MY ROTORS TO GET WARPED RIGHT AFTER REPLACING THEM. LANE KEEPING ASSIST WILL YANK YOU OVER INTO A TURNING LANE IF YOU AREN'T SUPER CAREFUL.
I HAD BEEN DRIVING MY CAR ON THE TURNPIKE FOR ABOUT 3.5 S WHEN SMOKE STARTED COMING OUT OF THE AREA AGAINST THE WINDSHIELD WHERE THE REAR VIEW MIRROR IS ATTACHED INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. A FIRE THEN SPONTANEOUSLY STARTED. I PULLED OVER AND PUT OUT THE FIRE BY THROWING WATER ONTO THE AREA FROM A BOTTLE OF WATER I HAD IN MY CAR CAUSING MY WINDSHIELD TO CRACK. AS A RESULT OF THE FIRE MY ANTI-COLLISION SYSTEM AND OTHER SYSTEMS(AUTOMATIC HEADLIGHTS) NO LONGER WORK. I CONTACTED TOYOTA TO NOTIFY THEM OF THE ISSUE. THEY SENT AN INSPECTOR TO MEET ME AT A DEALERSHIP AND TOLD ME THAT IS WAS DUE TO MY WINDSHIELD BEING REPLACED 18 MONTHS PRIOR BY SAFELITE AND I DIDN'T USE TOYOTA WINDSHIELD (LETTER ATTACHED). TOYOTA RETURNED MY CAR AND THE AREA STILL HEATED UP AND SMOKED. I TOOK IT UPON MYSELF TO REMOVE THE HOUSING BEHIND THE REAR VIEW MIRROR AND FOUND THAT THE METAL CAMERA WAS OVER HEATING AND CAUSING THE PLASTIC HOUSING TO MELT (PICTURES ATTACHED). I UNPLUGGED THE CAMERA AND THE SAFETY ISSUE IS RESOLVED. HOWEVER, THAT CAMERA CONTROLS THE ANTI-COLLISION SYSTEM AND MY AUTOMATIC HEADLIGHTS.
MY 2018 CAMRY 8 SPEED TRANSMISSION INTERMITTENTLY SHUDDERS/ SLIPS AT AROUND 30-40 MPH OR EVEN WHEN CRUISE IS SET AT 70-75MPH. IT SEEMS THE CPU HAS DIFFICULTY TRYING TO DETERMINE THE RIGHT GEAR FOR THE SPEED. WHEN I PRESS THE GAS, IT SOMETIMES HESITATES FOR OVER A SECOND.
ROTORS WORN OUT AND NEEDED TO BE RESURFACED AT 20,000 MILES. GRINDING NOISE IS HEARD WHILE BRAKING.AT 23,000SHOCKS/STRUTS MAKES NOISE ON ROUGH ROAD WHILE DRIVING
TRANSMISSION STALLS WHEN ACCELERATING AND REVS WHEN ACCELERATING TO HIGHER SPEEDS.
WHEN TRYING TO STEER THE CAR IT'S HARD TO TURN AND WHEN DRIVING IT FEELS LIKE THE CAR IS
VEHICLE HESITATE WHEN ACCELERATING AND THE ENGINE SHAKES REAL BAD, IT FEELS LIKE A MOUNT IS REALLY LOOSE. VEHICLE ALSO HESITATE TO PICK UP SPEED AFTER SLOWING DOWN.
I WAS SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS CAR, UNTIL I GOT THIS CAR. WE HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS SINCE SIGNING OUT CONTRACT. THE UNDER SHIELD OF THE CAR IS FALLING/DROPPING WHICH IS CONSTANTLY BREAKING OFF AND FALLING OUT BEHIND US WHICH IS POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS TO OTHERS AS WELL. MAKES THE WHOLE CAR SHAKE LIKE CRAZY WHEN DRIVING HIGHER SPEEDS. I AM CONSTANTLY HAVING TO GET DOWN ON THE GROUND IN MID WINTER AND TRY TO DIG THE SNOW, SLUSH AND ICE OUT FROM INBETWEEN THE SHIELD AND THE CAR ITSELF. I CANT USE TOOLS OR SHARP OBJECTS BECAUSE I DONT KNOW IF THERE IS BREAKABLE STUFF SO I JUST USE BARE HANDS AND HOPE FOR THE BEST. RIDICULOUS WHEN I HAVE SERVE CARPEL TUNNEL AND ITS IN NEGATIVE WITH WINDCHILL AND I RUN INSIDE UGLY CRYING BECAUSE MY HANDS HURTING.. THE CLIPS THAT WHOLE THE CAR TOGETHER IN GENERAL KEEP COMING UNDONE. I CAN ONLY CLIP A FEW BACK TOGETHER AS I DON'T HAVE THE STRENGTH FOR THE REST. SCARED THE BUMPER MIGHT FALL OFF AT A HIGHER SPEED WITH 2 MINOR CHILDREN IN THE CAR. THEN THE FELT ON THE INSIDE AROUND THE TIRES LIKES TO PEEL AWAY AND WHEN THE CLIP IS ALSO UNDONE IT BENDS AND MENDS THE UNDERBODY OUTSIDE TRIM AND THEN WHILE DRIVING IT CATCHES ON MY BACK TIRE. NOT ONLY AT HIGHER SPEEDS BUT ALL THE TIME.
WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT MY CAR IN AUGUST 2018 WHEN I FIRST DROVE IT... THE ACCELERATION WAS ON POINT. NOW IT SEEMS LIKE WHEN I GO TO TAKE OFF TO ACCELERATE IT FEELS SLUGGISH AS IF IT'S DOING THE WAY IT ORIGINALLY DID.
FUEL AND AIR GOING INTO THE FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM ARE NOT IN BALANCE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON.

IN DEEP WHITE SANDS DESERT CAR KEYS LOCKED INSIDE THE TRUNK. AFTER OPTING FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR USING THE HANGER ANCHOR METHOD WHOLE CAR COMPUTERIZED SYSTEM WENT DOWN AND THERE IS NO WAY TO OPEN THEN TRUNK FROM INSIDE THE CAR. 2018 CAMRY HAS NO LEVER ANY PULL-DOWN SEATS TO OPEN THE TRUNK. PARK RANGER TOOK ME TO THE NEAREST TOWN TOYOTA DEALERSHIP(DESERT SUN TOYOTA,3333 N WHITE SANDS BLVD, ALAMOGORDO, NM 88310), THE DEALERSHIP WAS NOT HAVING THE ABILITY TO CUT THE NEW LASER KEY THEY WERE NOT EVEN AWARE 2018 YOU CAN'T OPEN THE TRUNK BY A LEVER OR PULLING DOWN SEATS. IT WAS COLD AND DARK AND FAMILY WITH KIDS SITTING IN THE DUNES ALONE WHILE I WAS WORKING WITH TOYOTA DEALERSHIP FOR A NEW KEYS. AFTER DOING ALL BRAINSTORMING THE LAST SOLUTION CAME TO ME WAS MAKE A HOLE BEHIND NUMBER PLATE TO OPEN THE TRUNK LATCH. A GOOD MAN AGREED TO COME TO THE PARK AND OPEN THE TRUNK BY DRILLING THE HOLE. I WAS ABLE TO MAKE MY FAMILY SAFE. AFTER REACHING DALLAS (MY HOME) I SENT AN EMAIL TO TOYOTA NORTH AMERICA CEO JAMES ABOUT THE WHOLE INCIDENT AND HIS OFFICE CALLED ME AFTER THE EMAIL BUT NOT ACCEPTING THIS AS A DEFECT AND DENIED TO HELP ME TO FIX MY HOLEY CAR. THE 6 HRS I SPENT WITH FAMILY TO JUST OPEN THE TRUNK IS A SERIOUS DEFECT IN THE 2018 CAMRY. THIS IS VERY COMMON TO LOSE KEYS WHILE TAKING STUFF OUT OF THE TRUNK. IF THE HAPPENS ON NOWHERE LANDS AND NO CELL PHONE SIGNALS THEN IT IS DANGEROUS.
THE VEHICLE DOES A WEIRD CLOCKING NOISE WHEN ACCELERATION AND AS I BREAK OR GO AT A LOWER SPEED OR HIGHER SPEED THE SOUND IS LESS OR MORE . THIS STARTS AT A SURTEN SPEED. ALSO WHEN THE CAR IS ON IT DOES THE NOISE LIKE A CLICKING SOUNDS IVE READ ABOUT THE RECALLS ON THIS MODELS AND IM CONCERN DUE TO THE SAME INFO THE CAR ARE BEING CALLED FOR RECALLS. MASTER CONTROL LIGHT ON, NOT IDLING, WONT START IMMEDIATELY AFTER PUMPING GAS, CUTS OF RANDOMLY WHEN I STOP AND MALFUNCTION WARNING LIGHT FOR POWER STEERING
WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE, THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT APPEAR TO KNOW WHAT GEAR TO BE IN AND IS ALWAYS SEARCHING. SO MUCH SO THAT IT WILL LUNGE AT TIMES WHEN ALL YOU ARE TRYING TO DO IS ACCELERATE. WHEN SLOWING DOWN AND THEN SLOWLY APPLYING GAS AGAIN, NOTHING HAPPENS FOR A GOOD 10 SECONDS AND THEN IT SURGES AND CAUSES MY HEAD TO SLAM INTO THE BACK OF THE HEAD REST. ALSO WHILE IDLING THE VEHICLE IS DECENTLY LOUD, MORE SO WHEN DEFROSTER IS ENGAGED. AT FREEWAY SPEEDS IT TENDS TO DO BETTER, BUT MOST ISSUES APPEAR TO BE IN CITY DAY TO DAY DRIVING FROM THE TRANSMISSION/ OR FUEL SYSTEM.
WE MET WITH A CAR ACCIDENT ON 11/11/2019 MORNING. OUR CAR GOT BADLY HIT ON THE FRONT SIDE AND HAS BEEN DECLARED TOTALED BY INSURANCE. VIN [XXX]. THIS IS A TOYOTA CAMRY 2018. THE MAIN REASON WE WENT WITH THIS CAR IS THE SAFETY THAT WAS ADVERTISED. HOWEVER, DURING THIS CRASH NONE OF THE AIR BAG DEPLOYED FROM THE CAR AND HELPED MY WIFE (THE DRIVER) FROM GETTING THE SHOCK. SHE ALSO GOT NECK STRAIN DURING THIS INCIDENT. IF THIS DUE TO THE FAULTY AIR BAG, IT MAKES ME ANNOYED AS MY 8 YEAR SON WAS ALSO ON THE CAR WHEN THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED. IT MAKES ME WONDER WHETHER THIS CAR IS REALLY THAT SAFE AS IT IS GETTING ADVERTISED AND REQUIRE YOU HELP IN REGISTERING THIS COMPLAINT WITH TOYOTA TO SEE WHAT WOULD BE NEXT STEPS. THE PASSENGER SIDE DASHBOARD WHERE THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS, YOU CAN VISIBLY SEE THE LINES AND IT IS SLIGHTLY RAISED IN THE MIDDLE. I'VE NEVER OWN A VEHICLE, ESPECIALLY A NEW CAR THAT YOU COULD VISIBLY SEE THE EXACT LINES WHERE THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS. I WOULDN'T BE CONCERNED, BUT I KNOW IF THIS EXACT PROBLEM ON ANOTHER CAMRY NEAR ME.

WHEN ONE STARTS THE CAR BY PUSHING THE START BOTTOM, THE CAR WILL START TO SHAKE AND SOON A VERY LOAD CRACKING AND RATTLING NOISE WILL BEGAN COMING FROM THE ENGINE. ENGINE LIGHT WILL COME ON WHILE DRIVING IN THE CITY AND THEN TURNS OFF CAUSING THE DRIVER TO BE AWARE OF SOME ISSUE. ONCE THE CONCERNING NOISE GOES AWAY THE CAR CONTINUES TO SHAKE BUT EVENTUALLY STOPS AFTER A WHILE. THIS COULD MAKE THE CAR TO STALL AND CAUSING A POTENTIAL CRASH. THE VEHICLE LEFT BLIND SIDE DETECTOR DOES NOT RESPOND 100%, IT ONLY WORKS ABOUT 60% OF THE TIME. THIS CAUSES THE DRIVER TO THINK HE/SHE ARE CLEAR TO TURN TO THE LEFT LANE IN THE CITY AND HIGHWAY AND IT CAN CAUSE THE DRIVER TO HIT ANOTHER CAR AND POTENTIALLY CRASHING. THE SCREEN PANEL GLITCHES FROM TIME TO TIME WHILE DRIVING IN THE HIGHWAY CAUSING THE DRIVER TO NOT BE ABLE TO SEE AND LOCATE RADIO STATIONS OR MANIPULATE THE PANEL.
DURING MID 30'S AND BELOW, MY CAR DOES NOT GET UP TO OPERATING TEMPERATURE. IT SITS NEAR THE COLD MARK AND I HAVE INADEQUATE HEAT OUTPUT THROUGH MY VENTS WHICH MAKES IT VERY HARD TO SEE WHEN I'M DRIVING IN THE WINTER MONTHS. I HAVE HAD TO PULL OVER SEVERAL TIMES TO CLEAN MY WINDSHIELD BECAUSE THE DEFROSTER ISN'T STRONG ENOUGH TO MELT THE ICE. I'VE REPLACED THE THERMOSTAT (FORMER TOYOTA TECHNICIAN) AND IT STILL PRODUCES THE SAME RESULTS. I'VE TALKED TO SOME TOYOTA TECHNICIANS AND THEY HAVE NO EXPLANATION. PLEASE NOTE IN MY PICTURE I'VE ATTACHED THE 28 MINUTES OF DRIVE TIME WITH AN AVERAGE SPEED OF 39 MPH WITH MY NEAR COLD TEMP GAUGE.
TOYOTA HAS KNOWN ABOUT A FUEL PUMP ISSUE WITH THE 2018 TOYOTA CAMRY FWD AND HAS NOT ISSUED SENT PROPER NOTIFICATION TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. THE NHTSA NEEDS TO REQUIRE TOYOTA TO ISSUE AN IMMEDIATE RECALL WITH EXPEDITED SOLUTION. MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBER20TB02 NHTSA RECALL NUMBER20V682
CAR SEEMS LIKE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE IS ON BUT ITS NOT. WHEN I DRIVE OFF IT PULLS BACK AND HESITATES. THE SEATBELT DOESNT ALWAYS SEND THE SIGNAL THAT IAM WEARING IT WHICH MAKES THE CAR SEAT ALARM GO OFF. The fuel door release mechanical system has not been working since the car was purchased. The fuel door release mechanical system has very flimsy parts. I believe that this model and year also had a recall on the fuel pump because of a flimsy part as well.
THE VERY FIRST AND SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH THIS 2018 CAMRY LE IS ITS GAS PEDAL . IT IS VERY STIFF AND HARD TO PRESS THE GAS PEDAL . DUE TO THAT IT GETS SO HARD TO GIVE GAS POWER TO ENGINE AND DUE TO THAT CAR GIVE JERKS TO PICK UP THE ACCELERATION AND START JERKING AND SECONDLY DUE TO THAT STEERING WHEEL ALSO GET REALLY TIGHT AND ALSO IT MAKES THE SHIFTING OF THE GEAR OF TRANSMISSION GET STUCK. GAS PEDAL NEED TO BE SOFT, WHEN YOU PRESS THE PEDAL TO GIVE THE RACE OR ACCELERATION TO CAR FOR TO CHANGE GEARS AUTOMATICALLY FROM TRANSMISSION. IT IS VERY SERIOUS HAZARD WHEN THE GAS PEDAL GET STUCK AND STAY STIFF VERY HARD
IN AUGUST 2918, THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED FROM MCGEORGE TOYOTA OF RICHMOND, VIRGINIA. IN FEBRUARY 2019,THE AC WAS NOT COOLING. IT WAS FOUND THAT THERE WERE SEVERAL HIGH PRESSURE LEAKS. THE CONDENSER WAS REPLACED IN THE CAR AND HAS ATTEMPTED TO BE REPAIRED THREE OTHER TIMES, AS TWO OTHER TIMES THE FREON WAS FOUND TO BE LOW, AND LEAKS FROM HIGH PRESSURE LINES. AFTER THE SECOND REPAIR IN MARCH 2019, THE WIRING WAS FOUND TO BE FAULTY, WHICH IN TURN HEATED THE VENTS UP SO HOT, IT PRODUCED A MILD BURN ON MY FINGERS. WHILE DRIVING, THE TEMPERATURE OF THE AIR COMING OUT OF THE VENTS WAS EXTREMELY HOT, SO I TURNED THE BLOWER DOWN AND ATTEMPTED TO MOVE THE VENTS IN AN UPRIGHT POSITION. FURTHERMORE, THE MIRROR WAS FOUND TO BE DEFECTIVE AND A PIECE FELL OFF WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY IN JANUARY OF 2019. TODAY, ON 10/24/19, THE CAR MALFUNCTIONED WHILE IN MOTION AND IN A STATIONARY POSITION. WHEN THIS EVENT OCCURRED, IT EFFECTED POWER, STEERING, BRAKES, AIR BAGS AND SEVERAL OTHER MAJOR FUNCTIONS. I LEFT FOR WORK AND NOTICED MY CAR JUST SEEMED TO BE DRIVING ODDLY. I PULLED OFF TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON AND GET COFFEE. I TURNED THE CAR OFF, WENT INTO THE STORE. WHEN I CAME TO THE VEHICLE AND STARTED IT, I PUT IT IN REVERSE AND COULD NOT TURN THE WHEEL. NEARLY ALL OF THE WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND LET IT SIT FOR SEVERAL MINUTES. WHEN I TURNED THE VEHICLE BACK ON, ALL OF THE LIGHTS WERE OFF AND THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO MOVE AND DRIVE NORMALLY. OVERALL, THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD SEVERAL MAJOR ISSUES WITH WIRING, ELECTRICAL, BODY AND HAS POSED A SERIOUS THREAT TO MY SAFETY. I HAVE CONTRACTED THE MANUFACTURER SEVERAL TIME AND SEVERAL ATTEMPTS HAVE BEEN MADE TO REPAIR IT; HOWEVER THE PROBLEMS ARE CONSISTENT. THE MANUFACTURER DEMONSTRATES A LACK OF ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THESE DEFECTS AND HAS BEEN NOTIFIED OF THESE SAFETY CONCERNS.

AFTERWARDS, THE ENGINE MADE AN ABNORMALLY LOUD SOUND, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED, AND SMOKE APPEARED UNDER THE HOOD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO KOONS TOYOTA (8610 LEESBURG PIKE, VIENNA, VA 22182, 703-790-5920) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE DEALER RECOMMENDED THAT THE TRANSMISSION AXLE ASSEMBLY AND THE TRANSMISSION BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 1910182445. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
MY CAR WILL RANDOMLY STALL AFTER DRIVING SEVERAL HOURS ON THE FREEWAY AND SOMETIMES WILL NOT START UP. I AM CONCERNED THAT IT WILL STALL WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY LEADING TO A CRASH. MY CAR IS NOT INVOLVED UNDER TOYOTA'S FUEL PUMP RECALL BUT I HAVE VERIFIED THAT MY FUEL PRESSURE GOES TO NEAR 0 PSI WHEN THE CONDITION HAPPENS (FORMER TOYOTA TECHNICIAN) AND THE SYMPTOMS ARE EXACTLY THE SAME AS OUTLINED IN THE RECALL. I HAVE CONTACTED TWO TOYOTA TECHNICIANS FROM MY LOCAL DEALER AND SAID THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO DUPLICATE IT DUE TO HAVING TO DRIVE SO LONG AND AS A RESULT THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO PROVIDE A FIX FOR ME. I WOULD BE TEMPTED TO PURCHASE A NEW FUEL PUMP, HOWEVER IF TOYOTA DOESN'T KNOW ABOUT THIS ISSUE ON MY CAR, THE PART WILL NOT BE UPDATED AND WILL LIKELY TO HAVE THE SAME RESULT.
TRANSMISSION: WHEN ACCELERATING HARD, SUCH AS ON AN ON RAMP, MY SPEED ONLY INCREASES SLIGHTLY WHILE THE ENGINE REVS TO 5000+ RPMS. I LET OFF THE GAS & THEN IT SHIFTS AND SPEEDS UP. THE 8 SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WILL NOT SHIFT ON HARD ACCELERATION UNTIL I LET OFF THE GAS PEDAL. THIS IS CONSISTENT AND I BELIEVE, A SAFETY HAZARD. CRUISE CONTROL: THIS SYSTEM HAS WHAT TOYOTA CALLS A SAFETY FEATURE THAT AUTOMATICALLY SLOWS THE CAR IF IT THINKS THE VEHICLE OR OBJECT AHEAD IS TOO CLOSE. IN REALITY IT SLOWS THE CAR DRAMATICALLY WITHOUT ANYTHING IN FRONT OF ME AND A CLEAN WINDSHIELD. IT HAS A WINDSHIELD CAMERA TO DETECT SUCH THINGS, SO I HAVE TO KEEP IT CLEAN. THIS IS A RECURRING THING. I HAVE NOTIFIED TOYOTA. THERE SHOULD BE A REQUIRED FIX FOR SUCH SAFETY PROBLEMS.
WHEN DRIVING THERES A TIGHTNESS IN THE STEERING WHEEL, WENT TO THE TOYOTA DEALER TO FIND OUT WHATS IS WRONG IN MY CAR AND SAYING THAT THERE IS INTERNAL MECHANICAL FAILURE IN THE CAR THAT THEY CANNOT FIGURE IT OUT , THE CAR WAS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD AND STILL LOW MILEAGE IN THE CAR AND I NEVER EXPERIENCE THAT KIND OF ISSUES BEFORE. JUST WONDERING ITS A NEWER CAR AND ALREADY HAVE ISSUES. TOYOTA LAST LONG THATS WHY I CHOOSED TO BUY IT.
LEFT REAR RIM CRACKED, NO TIRE DAMAGE OR OTHER WHEEL DAMAGE. DID NOT NOTICE ANY MAJOR POTHOLE WHILE DRIVING. DID NOT NOTICE DURING ANY EVENT, JUST THE DISTORTION OF THE RIM WHEN APPROACHING THE VEHICLE.
THE DRIVER WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM CANNOT BE LIFTED UP BY DESIGN, THE PASSENGER SIDE IS OK AND LIKE IN ALL OTHER VEHICLES, BOTH WINDSHIELD WIPERS SUPPOSED TO LIFT UP COMPLETELY FOR CLEANING, SNOW REMOVAL ETC
WHEN DRIVING MY VEHICLE I GET A STALLED RESPONSE WHEN PRESSING ON THE GAS AND THEN IT JERKS FORWARD. THIS CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS WHEN DRIVING ON THE STREETS BECAUSE THERE IS A LOT IF STOP AND GO MOVEMENTS. IT USUALLY HAPPENS WHEN I COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AT A STOP LIGHT OR STOP SIGN, EVEN WHEN STOPPING TO TURN DOWN A STREET. I'M NOT SURE WHY THE VEHICLE DOES THIS, I JUST BOUGHT IT SO IT SHOULD STILL BE IN VERY GOOD SHAPE. I'M REPORTING THIS BECAUSE IT CAN BE A POTENTIAL HAZARD FOR A CAR CRASH. PLEASE HAVE TOYOTA FIX THIS PROBLEM IN THEIR 2018 TOYOTA CAMRY SE.
THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT ERRATICALLY, WHEN CRUISING AT A CONSTANT SPEED THE TRANSMISSION JERKS. IT FEELS LIKE IT DOWN SHIFT THEN UP SHIFTED, THIS HAPPENS A FEW OF TIMES A WEEK TOYOTA SAYS THIS IS NORMAL IN 4 CYLINDER, BUT THIS IS NOT NORMAL BEHAVIOR I HAVE 2013 CAMRY WITH NO SUCH ISSUE. THE MOST ANNOYING, BOTH THE DRIVER SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE DOORS SOUND HOLLOW AND MAKE A LOUD BANGING SOUND WHEN SHUTTING THE DOORS. THEY SOUND LIKE METAL BANGING OR HOLLOW TIN CANS. WHEN I SEARCHED ONLINE I FOUND THAT THE ADHESIVE ON THE DOOR SKIN COULD BE BAD CAUSING THE METAL THUMPING SOUND. I CAN MAKE A VIDEO AND SEND IT TO YOU GUYS IF NEEDED. THANK YOU.
WHEN TURNING AT SLOW SPEEDS THE STEERING WHEEL GOES FROM TIGHT TO LOOSE AS YOU MAKE A TURN. WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE STEERING WHEEL FEELS REALLY TIGHT AND HARD TO TURN. THIS ISSUE STARTED AT 37,429 MILES, WHICH IS CONVENIENTLY 1,429 OUT OF THE WARRANTY PERIOD.

THE MANUFACTURER TOOK THE BLACK BOX INFORMATION AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GREEN'S TOYOTA OF LEXINGTON (630 E NEW CIRCLE RD, LEXINGTON, KY 40505, (859) 254-5751). IN ADDITION, THE BRAKE ROTORS FAILED AND THE TRANSMISSION SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFTED WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH. THE CONTACT FELT THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT GOING TO ASSIST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS STILL RESEARCHING THE INFORMATION OBTAINED FROM THE VEHICLE'S BLACK BOX. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW AND HAD BEEN TO THE DEALER BETWEEN 10 TO 15 TIMES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
TODAY AUG 31 2019, I TEST DROVE THE ABOVE VEHICLE. 2 THINGS I NOTICED DURING DRIVING. 1). AT START UP THERE WAS A VERY AUDIBLE TICKING SOUND AT THE FRONT END OF THE ENGINE. IT WAS MUCH MORE AUDIBLE WHEN THE HOOD WAS RAISED, AND IT STOPPED AFTER APPROXIMATELY 30 SECONDS WITH ONLY A FAMILIAR TICKING SOUND OF THE 4 CYLNDER ENGINE ONCE IT STOPPED 2). MOST IMPORTANT - DURING ACCELERATION FROM A STOP, THE VEHICLE SEEMED TO BOGG DOWN, AND FEEL LIKE THE FUEL WAS NOT FEEDING PROPERLY, OR THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING. ONCE THE VEHICLE REACHED 15 MPH OR SO, IT SEEMED TO DRIVE NORMAL. I DID NOT HAVE A CHANCE TO DRIVE ON THE FREEWAY, ONLY CITY STREETS. THE ACCELERATION SHOULD BE OF MAJOR CONCERN.
WHILE PULLING INTO PARKING SPOT, APPLIED BRAKES & CAR EXCELLERATED, WOULD NOT STOP. ALMOST WENT INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. CAR ONLY STOPPED WHEN I PUT IT IN PARK. SCHAUMBURG TOYOTA CUSTOMER CARE IS LOOKING INTO MATTER.
MY VEHICLE IS STAYING IN FOURTH GEAR IT WILL GO DOWN IF I DOWNSHIFT MANUALLY BY PUTTING IT INTO SPORT. ALTHOUGH WHEN IT IS SHIFTED DOWN IN SPORT MODE EVEN WHILE AT A DEAD STOP WHEN YOU SWITCH IT BACK OVER TO DRIVE AND THEN BACK IT STILL READS THAT IT'S IN FOURTH GEAR. IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE I HAVE GOTTEN THE VEHICLE IDK THE SPECIFIC DATE OF THE TRANSACTION.
SIDEWALL DAMAGE HAPPENED VERY QUICKLY TIRE DEFLATED QUICKLY INDICATOR ON DASH ILLUMINATED. PULLED INTO A SERVICE STATION AND TIRE WAS COMPLETELY FLAT. REQUIRED ROAD SERVICE TO INSTALL SPARE BECAUSE WIFE IS A HEART PATIENT AND CANNOT CHANGE TIRE. LUCKILY SHE WAS GOING THROUGH A TOWN AT UNDER 40 MPH. PICTURE ATTACHED OF SIDEWALL DAMAGE NOT SURE IF IT LOOKS DEFECTIVE OR WAS A ROAD HAZARD.
FOR A YEAR AND A HALF, MY CAR HAS ALWAYS REFUSED TO ACCELERATE ON TIME, OFTEN OVERCOMPENSATING AND LUNGING FORWARD, OR UNDERGOING A ROLLING SENSATION AND ACCELERATING. I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE STEERING/TIRES TWICE IN THE PAST WEEK AND TODAY AS WELL. WHEN MAKING A TURN AND ACCELERATING THE CAR TIRES SKID VERY LOUDLY AND THE STEERING WHEEL MOVES ON ITS OWN TO THE LEFT AND RIGHT. I ALMOST WENT OUT OF MY LANE BECAUSE OF THIS. TIRES ARE FINE AND DO NOT SHOW EXCESSIVE WEAR OR DAMAGE.
SIDEWALL FAILURE TOTAL LOSS OF AIR PRESSURE AND HAD TO REPLACE TIRE WITH ONLY 20000 MILES ON TIRE AND APPROX. 7/32 TREAD ON TIRE.
VEHICLE IS SHUTTERING AT STOP SIGNS AND HAS A MAJOR LAG IN ACCELERATION WHICH HAS LEAD TO SOME CLOSE CALLS MERGING ONTO THE FREEWAY AND PULLING INTO TRAFFIC.
THE RADAR SENSOR CONTINUOUSLY MALFUNCTIONS AND TURNS ITSELF OFF. INITIALLY THOUGHT BY THE DEALER TO BE DUE TO RAIN, EVEN DURING SUNNY CONDITIONS IT MALFUNCTIONS. THE CAR HAS TO BE TURNED OFF AND TURNED BACK ON TO GET RADAR SPEED CONTROL TO WORK AGAIN. I HAVE TAKEN YOU DEALER AND THEY SAID THIS IS NORMAL AND HAS NO FIX. THIS SHOULDN'T BE OCCURRING UNLESS THEIR IS A DIRECT BLOCKAGE OF RADAR SIGNAL ON THE SENSOR.
WAS RAINING AND PUSH THE BRAKE AND THE CAR DIDN'T STOP AND THE WHEELS SLIPPED ON THE PAVEMENT
THE WIPERS DO NOT CLEAR THE WINDSHIELD ON MODERATE HEAVY RAIN VISIBILITY IS VERY BAD. I OWN A 2002 CAMRY WHICH DOES A BETTER JOB. AS PER MY OBSERVATION THE WIPER FREQUENCY NEEDS TO BE INCREASED .
IN MOTION: TODAY 7/28/2019 WHILE PULLING OUT IN TRAFFIC THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AND I LOOKED DOWN IN THE GEAR SHIFT DRIVE AND NEUTRAL WAS LIT AND THE NETRULA WAS FLASHING. NEXT, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED, AND THE DASH START FLASHING STAR INFLATION MALFUNCTION AND SEE A DEALER IMMEDIATELY. I JUST PURCHASED . MY GRANDDAUGHTER WAS IN THE CAR THIS WAS VERY DANGEROUS AND SCARY.
