TAKATA RECALL DEFECTIVE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG WHICH CAN CAUSE DEATH OR GREAT BODILY INJURY UPON A COLLISION OR IMPACT.. RECALL ISSUED BY TOYOTA ON 6/16/2015. I RECEIVED LETTER IN AUGUST 2015 ABOUT THE RECALL. I WENT TO NORTHRIDGE TOYOTA AT `19550 NORDHOFF ST., NORTHRIDGE, CA 91324. I SPOKE TO ASST.SVC. MGR., MARTY APROIAN WHO PROVIDED INFO AND INSTRUCTIONS TO OBTAIN REPAIR. I TELEPHONED SVC DEPT ON 9/1/2015 AND SPOKE TO KATHRYN WHO SAID PART WILL BE ORDERED AND THEY WILL CALL WHEN PART ARRIVES. NO CONTACT WHATSOEVER FROM NORTHRIDGE TOYOTA, SO I PHONED THEM AGAIN ON 12/24/2015 AND SPOKE TO ANI. CHECKED ON STATUS AND SHE RELATED THAT THERE IS NO PART SO CANNOT REPAIR DANGEROUS CONDITION. SHE VERIFIED MY ORIOR CONTACT THEY WILL CALL WHEN PART ARRIVES. I HAVE SIGNIFICANT DOUBTS THAT DANGEROUS CONDITION WILL EVER BE REPAIRED IN A REASONABLE TIME FRAME. SO I PHONED TOYOTA CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE CENTER (CORPORATE) AT 888 270 9371 AND SPOKE WITH A DANNY WHO OPENED A CLAIM WITH A REF # OF 1512241258. IT APPEARS THAT THEY COULD DO NOTHING TO ASSIST IN OBTAINING THE NECESSARY REPAIR. AND REFERRED ME TO SERVICE MANAGER AT NORTHRIDGE TOYOTA, SO NOTHING ACCOMPLISHED RE CORRECTING A VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION. FIVE PLUS MONTHS HAVE ELAPSED SINCE THE RECALL DESPITE MY BEST EFFORTS IN SEEKING THE REPAIR THAT HAS NOT BEEN DONE. PLEASE HELP IN WHATEVER REGULATORY MANNER POSSIBLE TO SEE THAT I OBTAIN THE REPAIR ASAP.

MY CAR MADE A SOUND LIKE ROCKS IN A BLENDER AND STOPPED MOVING FORWARD. I SHIFTED IN TO NEUTRAL AND COASTED TO A STOP. THE SOUND WAS FROM THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION.I TRIED TO SHIFT BACK INTO GEAR (DRIVE) BUT WAS UNABLE TO GET IT TO GO INTO DRIVE AND THE SOUND THE TRANS WAS MAKING WAS TO SAY THE LEAST HORRIBLE . AT THE TIME THIS HAPPENED I WAS HEADING FOR THE ON RAMP TO INTERSTATE 90. I HAD FOUR CHILDREN IN THIS CAR AND CAN ONLY IMAGINE WHAT THE OUTCOME WOULD HAVE BEEN IF THIS HAD HAPPENED ONE MINUTE LATER!!! I SHUT THE CAR OFF AND DID NOT RESTART IT.I HAD TOWED TO MY LOCAL TOYOTA DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAVE INFORMED ME THAT THE TRANSMISSION WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED!! $3600.00 FOR A TRANSMISSION AND MY CAR HAS ONLY BEEN DRIVEN 53000 MILES! THIS IS MY 8TH TOYOTA AND POSSIBLY LAST!! I WILL SEE WHAT TOYOTA HAS TO SAY. SO FAR ,THEIR ONLY OFFER(YOUR TRANSMISSION IS BAD). NO REASON WHY!! THIS IS NOT THE QUALITY OWNERS OF THIS CAR BRAND HAVE COME TO RELY ON!!

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 194,000.

TAKATA RECALL. MY VEHICLE BECAME PART OF THE RECALL IN MID-JUNE 2015. IT HAS NOW BEEN FIVE MONTHS AND I AM STILL UNABLE TO PUT A PASSENGER IN THE FRONT SEAT OF MY CAR. I WENT TO TOYOTA'S WEBSITE AND MY VEHICLE IS NOT YET EVEN ON THE SCHEDULE. CAN I EXPECT SOME COMPENSATION FROM TOYOTA AND/OR TAKATA FOR THIS CONTINUING INCONVENIENCE? I HAD A SIMILAR ISSUE WITH THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG ON MY 2001 HONDA ACCORD, AND IT WAS RESOLVED IN LESS THAN A MONTH.

TAKATA RECALL. I RECEIVED AN UNDATED LETTER FROM TOYOTA IN 2015 ABOUT THE RECALL OF THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATORS. IT HAS BEEN MANY MONTHS NOW AND I HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM TOYOTA.
TAKATA RECALL- STILL WAITING FOR THE WARRANTY WORK. IT IS UNACCEPTABLE THAT I AM UNABLE TO DRIVE MY CAR FOR ALMOST A YEAR NOW.,

I TOOK MY CAR ON MAY 15, 2015 TO CORRECT THE AIR BAGS RECALL. THE TOYOTA DEALER WAS NOT ABLE TO REPAIR THE RECALL BECAUSE THE PARTS IN THE AIRBAG LACK BAR CODE (INFLATOR MODULE OPENNED TECHLINE CASE). AFTER 3 MONTHS (TODAY 8/14/2015), THEY HAVE NOT CORRECTED MY AIRBAG BECAUSE THAT PART IS BACKORDER. THE TOYOTA DEALER DOES NOT KNOW WHEN THEY WILL RECEIVE THE PART. THEN, IT IS UNKNOWN WHEN MY CAR CAN BE SAFE.
