The contact stated that because of the failure, the contact's vehicle rear-ended the Honda CR-V vehicle that was parked in front of the contact's vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle's speed was only 3–4 MPH. No air bags deployed. The other vehicle sustained damage to the rear bumper. The contact's vehicle was towed to a local tow yard. The contact's vehicle was condemned as a total loss by the insurance adjuster. No police report was filed. No injuries were sustained. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.
