Odometer Fraud. The contact owned a 2009 Toyota Sienna. The contact discovered a mileage discrepancy after the vehicle was sold. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of the sale, the vehicle mileage was 253,000. The contact posted the sale on Craigslist, and several days after the sale, the contact noticed that the vehicle was posted back on Craigslist for sale. The contact discovered that the new owner had rolled back the mileage on the odometer to 126,000. The ad on Craigslist was showing the fraudulent mileage.
The driver's side sliding door was stuck and I was struggling with it. Suddenly, the quarter panel window shattered (the window between the door and the back of the car) and the door came halfway off the track. It's important to note that this was not the window of the door I was struggling with and nothing visible hit the window. Luckily, my baby was not yet in his seat which is right next to the window. It is normal for people to struggle with a stuck door. If a non-visibly connected window suddenly shatters it is a significant safety risk.
On my 2009 Toyota Sienna XLE V6 FWD. The anti-slip indicator light improperly turns-on on dry roads at safe speeds. This causes a distraction to the driver.
Vehicle has an unknown electrical draw this draining the battery every night, making vehicle unusable even in emergency. Mechanic has confirmed draw but is unable to find short.
The rear passenger side sliding door cable and motor assembly on the Toyota Sienna failed, causing the door to become completely inoperative (cannot open nor close) and the broken cable nearly cut my wife as it broke under tension and came flying out toward her as she was trying to close the door normally. The cable and motor had been replaced in 2015. The cable and motor on the rear driver side sliding door was also replaced in 2013 and 2017. The problem was confirmed by Woburn Toyota (dealer) and reported to the manufacturer. The manufacturer has confirmed the failure and safety defect, but refuses to provide repairs. No warnings were provided, no recall was issued, and customers were not notified of internal safety bulletin POL12-02 issued by Toyota.
USUALLY MOVING BETWEEN 25- 45 MPH. ON ANY ROAD. THE VSC, TRACTION CONTROL, AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COME ON. FOR NO REASON THIS HAPPENS QUITE OFTEN DAILY. I HAVE LOOKED INTI THIS AND NUMEROUS, NUMEROUS PEOPLE EXPERIENCE TGE SAME PROBLEM
Out of nowhere my vehicle started making a whining noise and then stopped moving then all these lights popped on my Dash getting it towed to a shop to come to find out that the solenoids for the transmission had went bad thank goodness I was on a side road only doing 25 mph I couldn't imagine being on the freeway doing 65 when this happened there has been numerous numerous other reports have the same issue
ON DRY PAVEMENT DRIVING ABOUT 35-40 MILES AN HOUR THE VSC TRACTION SENSOR CAME ON LIGHTS AND SOUND AND HIT MY BRAKES MY STEERING WENT TO THE RIGHT I ALMOST GOT IN AN ACCIDENT THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED AND THEY CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT. *TR
The cables for the rear power sliding doors snapped on my car causing the door to be jammed shut. When the second one broke approximately two weeks later it's snap back whipping nearly hitting my three-year-old son
2009 TOYOTA SIENNA WITH 134K MILEAGE HAS SRS WARNING LIGHT ON ALL OF A SUDDEN AND STAYS ON. TOYOTA DEALER WOULD CHARGE ME FOR DIAGNOSING AND CHARGE ME IF ANY FURTHER JOBS NEED TO BE DONE. SHOULDN'T THIS BE RECALLED AND HANDLED WITHOUT ANY CHARGE TO OWNERS AS IT'S MATTER OF SAFETY ISSUE?
BOTH SIDES POWER SLIDING DOORS HAD A CABLE BROKEN THAT ACTIVATES AUTOMATIC DOOR FUNCTION, IT ALSO OBSTRUCTS MANUALLY OPENING DOORS CREATING AN EGRESS HAZARD. BOTH DOORS CAN ONLY BE MANUALLY OPENED PARTIAL WAY. AVERAGE PERSON ENTERS/EXITS REAR SEATS WITH GREAT DIFFICULTY DUE TO THE SLIDING DOOR OBSTRUCTION.
OIL COOLER LINE FAILURE: WHILE DRIVING ON A STATE ROUTE IN A RURAL AREA MY OIL COOLER LINE RUPTURED IN MY 2009 TOYOTA SIENNA, RESULTING IN MAJOR LOSS OF ENGINE OIL, THUS BEING STRANDED IN A RURAL AREA AND REQUIRING A TOW. THE METAL OIL LINE WAS CONSTRUCTED WITH A SECTION OF RUBBER IN THE MIDDLE WHICH DETERIORATES AND FAILS. TOYOTA HAS BEEN AWARE OF THIS ISSUE FOR YEARS, AND FIRST CHANGED THE RUBBER COMPOSITION IN A REPLACEMENT PART BUT THIS PART STILL HAD A SIGNIFICANT FAILURE RATE. SO THE CURRENT REPLACEMENT IS ALL METAL LINE. WHY WOULD YOU HAVE A RUBBER SECTION IN AN OIL LINE? OBVIOUSLY THE FIRST TWO DESIGNED PARTS WERE A VERY POOR DESIGN. TOYOTA ISSUED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR SIENNAS FOR 10 YEARS AND 150,000 MILES BUT THIS HAS SINCE EXPIRED. I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. WHY EXPIRE A WARRANTY IF THE VEHICLE IS STILL WITHIN THE PARAMETERS OF THE WARRANTY (10 YEARS OR 150,000 MILES)? TOYOTA SAYS THIS IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE. BUT AS A RETIRED CORPORATE SAFETY MANAGER/ENGINEER WITH A MAJOR TIRE MANUFACTURER I DISAGREE. THERE ARE POTENTIAL FIRE ISSUES FROM OIL BEING SPRAYED ON A HOT ENGINE/EXHAUST, A ROADSIDE ACCIDENT POTENTIAL ESPECIALLY IF YOU SUDDENLY LOST OIL WHERE YOU COULDN'T PULL OFF AND THE MOTOR SEIZED, AND A SECURITY ISSUE DEPENDING ON WHEN AND WHERE YOU BREAK DOWN. WHAT IF YOU HAD LITTLE KIDS AND BROKE DOWN IN A RURAL AREA (NO HEAT). I WILL END UP PAYING $94 FOR A TOW, $500 TO FIX, AND 4-7 DAYS CAR RENTAL TO FIX. BUT MY BIGGEST CONCERN IS THE SAFETY ISSUE.
THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR RECENTLY BEGAN TO OPEN ON ITS OWN RANDOMLY WHEN DRIVING, SOMETHING MAY BE WRONG WITH THE LATCH, IT IS NOT HOOKING/ENGAGING TO THE CAR FRAME. MY WIFE MADE A LEFT TURN YESTERDAY AND THE PASSENGER REAR DOOR SLID OPEN, LUCKILY MY 7 YEAR OLD SON WAS BUCKLED IN. ALSO, THE CABLES TO THE DRIVER SIDE REAR SLIDING DOORS POPPED OFF ABOUT A YEAR AGO, BELIEVE IT WAS DUE TO RUST/CORROSION...
THE DASHBOARD ON THIS VEHICLE IS ESSENTIALLY MELTING AND TURNING INTO A STICKY, TACKY GLUE WHICH CREATES A BLINDING GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD FOR THE DRIVER WHILE DRIVING. TOYOTA DID HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THIS THAT THEY PUT INTO EFFECT AFTER THE PROBLEM BECAME PUBLIC BUT THEY PUT A TIME LIMIT ON IT AND MY VEHICLE STARTED HAVING THE ISSUE JUST OUTSIDE OF THE WARRANTY PERIOD. IN FACT I HAD THE VEHICLE EVALUATED IN 2017 DURING THE EXTENDED WARRANTY PERIOD AND WAS TOLD IT DID NOT QUALIFY BECAUSE I APPARENTLY WAS TAKING CARE OF MY VEHICLE TOO WELL. NOW TOYOTA IS SAYING I'LL HAVE TO REPLACE THE DASHBOARD MYSELF. IT IS REALLY HARD TO DRIVE ON BRIGHT DAYS BECAUSE THE GLARE IS AWFUL.
ON MARCH 19, 2019 THE SUNROOF AND SUNROOF COVER FLEW OFF MY VEHICLE AS I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY. MY LOCAL TOYOTA DEALERSHIP HAD NO IDEA WHY THIS WOULD HAPPEN. I FOUND OUT AFTER SPEAKING TO MY CAR INSURANCE COMPANY THAT THERE IS A RECALL FROM WEBASTO, THE MANUFACTURER OF THE SUNROOF. THE VEHICLE MANUFACTURERS SHOULD BE 100% AWARE OF THIS AND SENDING OUT NOTICES TO OWNERS. THIS COULD HAVE KILLED SOMEONE AND WEBASTO IS FORCING CUSTOMERS TO USE A REPAIR FACILITY THEY CHOOSE. TOYOTA SHOULD BE ISSUING RECALL NOTICES AND REPAIRING THESE VEHICLES ASAP BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED.
THE AIRBAG LIKE CAME ON AND HAS NOT GONE OFF. HAD MECHANIC CHECK IT AND WAS TOLD THAT THE SQUIB CIRCUIT HAD A SHORT AND THAT IF IN AN ACCIDENT AIRBAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY. DEALER SAID IT COULD COST UP TO $2600 TO FIX. AFTER SOME RESEARCH, I HAVE FOUND THAT THERE ARE A LOT OF OTHER SIENNA OWNERS WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM. WHY HAS TOYOTA NOT RECALLED THIS, BECAUSE IT SOUNDS LIKE A MANUFACTURING ISSUE AND CONSUMER SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY THAT KIND OF MONEY FOR THERE FAULTY PRODUCT. NOW BECAUSE OF THIS FAULTY EQUIPMENT I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO DRIVE AN UNSAFE VEHICLE BECAUSE I CAN NOT AFFORD THAT KIND OF MONEY TO REPAIR.
THE DRIVER SIDE SLIDE DOOR AFTER I OPENED IT , THE CABLE THAT CONTROLS THE OPEN AND SHUT BROKE. THE VAN WAS NOT RUNNING OR MOVING I HAD JUST OPENED THE DOOR THEN HEARD IT SNAP
ELECTRICAL DRIVER SIDE DOOR CABLE GOT SNAPPED. LOOKS LIKE OTHER TOYOTA SIENNA OWNER FACE SAME ISSUE. COMPANY KNOWS THE ISSUE AND ENHANCEMENT WARRANTY 10 YEARS FROM THE DATE-OF-FIRST-USE OR 150,000 MILES (WHICHEVER OCCURS FIRST). CURRENTLY MY CAR IS 10 YEARS AND 5 MONTHS AND LESS THAN 95000 MILES. THEY DECLINE. IF PARTS ARE FAULTY THAN COMPANY SHOULD ABLE TO REPAIR REGARDLESS OF YEAR OR MILEAGES.
MY NAME IS [XXX], SINCE YOUNG UNTIL NOW I HAD BOUGHT TOTAL 7 TOYOTA VEHICLES IN MY LIFE. MY TOYOTA SIENNA 2009 HAS PROBLEM WITH THE POWER SLIDE DOOR THAT IT OPEN AND CLOSE BY IT SELF A FEW TIMES WHILE I VACUUM THE RUG OF FLOOR TODAY. THE CAR WAS AT PARKED AND ENGINE IS OFF. ALSO I FOUND THE CABLES ON THE SLIDE DOOR HUNG OUT EXPOSED ON THE SIDE OF THE DOOR EDGE. PLEASE SEE PICTURE ATTACHED. SLIDING SIDE DOORS OPEN ON OWN. BUTTON FAILS TO ENGAGE PREVENTING DOOR FROM CLOSING. HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES AFTER PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT AND PUTTING THE CAR IN PARK. BOTH TIMES IT HAS BEEN THE PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR.
THE PASSENGER DOOR CABLE ASSEMBLY SNAPPED CAUSING THE DOOR TO SLAM SHUT ON MY CHILD'S LEG WHILE ENTERING THE VEHICLE. WE WERE PARKED IN A PARKING LOT, THE KEYS WERE NOT IN THE IGNITION. THE CAR WAS PARKED ON A SLIGHT DECLINE WITH THE REAR OF THE CAR SLIGHTLY HIGHER THAN THE FRONT. THE DOOR WAS NEVER ENGAGED TO CLOSE, IT SLAMMED SHUT ON ITS OWN.
VEHICLE ACCESSORY. I HAVE PURCHASED A HARMAR AL625 SCOOTER LIFT, PURCHASED THROUGH SPINLIFE (DON'T KNOW WHICH COMPANY IS RESPONSIBLE). THE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS DO NOT MATCH THE HARDWARE PROVIDED, CREATING THE POSSIBILITY OF INJURY OR VEHICLE DAMAGE DUE TO INCORRECT INSTALLATION. SPECIFICALLY, THE INSTRUCTIONS CALL FOR USE OF 2 "MOUNTING BARS", USED TO AVOID DRILLING HOLES IN THE VEHICLE. ONLY 1 MOUNTING BAR WAS SUPPLIED, ALONG WITH OTHER HARDWARE TO APPARENTLY BE USED IN PLACE OF THE SECOND BAR. THIS IS POSSIBLY REQUIRED DUE TO THE 3RD ROW SEATING MOUNTS OF THE SIENNA. THERE ARE NO INSTRUCTIONS FOR MOUNTING THE ALTERNATE HARDWARE, NOR HAVE I BEEN ABLE TO FIND ANY ON THE HARMAR AND SPINLIFE WEBSITES. ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT BOTH COMPANIES HAVE SO FAR BEEN FRUITLESS.
UNEXPECTED ACCELARATION WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PARK;LOW SPEED, BARELY MOVING. THE VEHICLE(2009 TOYOTA SIENNA LUNGED FORWARD AND HIT A PARKED VEHICLE CAUSING DAMAGED TO THE SIENNA AND THE PARKED VEHICLE.
PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR WON'T CLOSE WITH BOTH POWER MOTOR AND MANUALLY. IT'S STUCK OPEN. I CALLED TOYOTA CORPORATE OFFICES TO GET ASSISTANCE AND THEY STATED THAT THE WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT JUST EXPIRED 1 MONTH AGO. DO NOT KNOW HOW TO GET THE VAN DOOR UNSTUCK. IT JUST HAPPENED TODAY, OR I WOULD'VE CALLED 1 MONTH AGO. VERY FRUSTRATED, CANNOT DRIVE VEHICLE. IT HAPPENED IN MY DRIVEWAY, VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY.
THE SLIDING DOORS OPEN AND CLOSE BUY A PUSH OF A BOTTON BUT WHEN SOMETHING GETS IN THE WAY THE DOOR STILL SHUT IT DOESN'T STOP MY 3 YR OLD DAUGHTER HAND WAS IN THE WAY WHEN THE DOOR WAS CLOSING BY TIME I GOT TO HER FINGERS WERE PINNED AN THIS HAPPEN TO MY SON MY SONS FRIEND HEAD U HAVE TO HIT THE DOOR TO STOP IT. 2009 TOYOTA SIENNA WITH POWER SLIDING DOORS. I BELIEVE THE CAUSE OF THIS ISSUE MAY BE A POORLY DESIGNED ROLLER HINGE FOR THE SLIDING DOORS. IF THE ROLLER HINGE FAILS AND BINDS, IT WILL CAUSE THE POWER SLIDING DOOR MOTOR AND/OR CABLE TO FAIL. PASSENGER SIDE POWER SLIDING DOOR BECAME STUCK, PARTIALLY OPEN, WITH MY HANDICAPPED SON INSIDE WHILE I WAS PARKED OUTSIDE HIS SCHOOL FOR DROP OFF. I OBSERVED THAT THE POWER DOOR CABLE WAS BROKEN. WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO PUSH THE DOOR OPEN TO GET MY SON OUT, THE ROLLER HINGE FAILED, COMING PARTWAY OUT OF ITS TRACK, AND THE REAR SIDE WINDOW SHATTERED, COVERING THE THIRD SEAT WITH BROKEN GLASS. A SMALL AMOUNT OF GLASS LANDED ON MY SON. I WAS FORCED TO CARRY HIM (13 YEARS OLD, APPROXIMATELY 75 LBS.) OUT FROM THE DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR. THE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN OR CLOSE SO I WAS FORCED TO HAVE IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED! IN 2015 AN ALMOST IDENTICAL SCENARIO TOOK PLACE IN MY DRIVEWAY, IN THIS EARLIER INSTANCE WITH THE DRIVER SIDE SLIDER DOOR FAILING AND SHATTERING THE DRIVER SIDE REAR SIDE WINDOW. FORTUNATELY, NO ONE WAS IN THE VEHICLE IN THAT CASE, EITHER. IN THE FIRST INSTANCE INSURANCE COVERED THE DAMAGE, WITH A $300 DEDUCTIBLE. A FEW MONTHS AFTER THAT WE PAID $1100 TO HAVE THE PASSENGER SIDE POWER DOOR MOTOR AND CABLE REPLACED AFTER THE CABLE BROKE. THIS RECENT FAILURE IS ESTIMATED TO COST BETWEEN $2000 AND $3000. AS YET, INSURANCE IS REFUSING TO PAY FOR ANYTHING EXCEPT THE BROKEN WINDOW.
THE REAR LEFT SLIDING DOOR DOES NOT LOCK WHEN SHUT. EVEN WHEN USED IN POWER MODE OR MANUAL. IT WILL SLIDE OPEN WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD ESPECIALLY ON TURNS. READING ONLINE IT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR WILL NOT SECURE THE DOOR IN A LOCK POSITION NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO. THIS MAKES THE VEHICLE UNSAFE TO DRIVE FOR THE FEAR THAT SOMEBODY WILL FALL OUT WHILE DRIVING.
DURING COLD WEATHER THE LIFT GATE WILL ENGAGE THE POWER CLOSE FEATURE AUTOMATICALLY BEFORE USER REQUESTS IT. NORMALLY THE POWER CLOSE IS INITIATED BY THE USER PULLING THE LIFT GATE DOWN. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS IT TAKES A GOOD AMOUNT OF FORCE TO STOP THE POWER CLOSE FEATURE. ONCE YOU HAVE STOPPED IT, THE DOOR WILL RAISE, AND THAN IT WILL JUST BEGIN THE POWER CLOSE AGAIN. SOMETIMES THE DOOR WILL IMMEDIATELY BEGIN TO CLOSE ONCE IT HAS BEEN RAISED, OTHER TIMES IT WILL WAIT FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME BEFORE DOING SO. ONCE IT STARTS CLOSING YOU HAVE TO MOVE VERY QUICKLY TO AVOID BEING TRAPPED BY THE DOOR. THIS OCCURS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STOPPED. IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE IF THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING OR NOT, NOR IF THE VEHICLE IS PARKED ON A SLOPE OR FLAT SURFACE.
THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR CABLE BROKE & AUTO SLIDE DOOR NO LINGER WORKS. STATIONARY.
THE ELECTRICALLY-POWERED SLIDING REAR DOOR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE FAILED IN THE CLOSED POSITION BECAUSE THE CABLE DESIGNED TO DO THIS TASK HAD RUSTED THROUGH AND SNAPPED. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE, BUT TOYOTA HAS REFUSED TO COVER IT. THE DOOR CANNOT BE MOVED BECAUSE THE CABLE HAS WOUND ITSELF UP INSIDE THE DOOR. THIS CAN TRAP THE OCCUPANTS INSIDE THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE IN AN EMERGENCY. THIS MAKES THE SIENNA UNSAFE.
HAD FIRESTONE AUTO CARE INSTALL 4 BRAND NEW TIRES ON VEHICLE AT 9AM ON 11/3/17. THAT AFTERNOON WHILE TRAVELING ON INTERSTATE LEFT FRONT TIRE BLEW OUT. TOOK VEHICLE TO FIRESTONE NO INDICATION THAT VEHICLE HAD HIT SOMETHING AND NO PUNCTURES IN TIRE. FIRESTONE REPLACED THE TIRE. ON 11/717 WHILE TRAVELING ON LOCAL ROAD THE LEFT REAR TIRE SUDDENLY LOST ALL AIR AND WENT FLAT. ONCE AGAIN NO INDICATION THAT THE VEHICLE HIT ANYTHING AND NO PUNCTURES IN TIRE. I DEMANDED A FULL REFUND FROM FIRESTONE WHICH THEY AGREED TO PROVIDE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE ELSEWHERE AND HAD TIRES REPLACED WITH A DIFFERENT BRAND.
POWER SLIDING DOOR MALFUNCTION DISABLING THE USE OF A SLIDING DOOR. THE CABLE THAT MOVES THE SLIDING DOOR BROKE MAKING THE DOOR INOPERABLE. A CLEAR SAFETY HAZARD BY ELIMINATING A POINT OF ACCESS OR REGRESS.
I WAS DRIVING MY SIENNA ON A 2 LANE TOWN ROAD AND WITHOUT WARNING SMELLED SMOKE. AS I WAS PULLING OVER CARS IN THE ONCOMING LANE WERE HONKING AT ME AS THEY SAW THE FIRE UNDERNEATH WHERE THE ENGINE IS. WHEN I PULLED OVER SMOKE ENTERED INTO THE CAR. I STEPPED OUT, HEARD A POP, AND NOW THE ENTIRE FRONT OF THE CAR WAS FULL ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED ON SCENE QUICKLY AND EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. I FILED AN INCIDENT REPORT WITH TOYOTA. I RECEIVED A CALL FROM A MAN SAYING HE WAS HIRED BY TOYOTA TO INVESTIGATE THE FIRE AND REPORT BACK TO THEM. TO DATE, I HAVE RECEIVED ZERO COMMUNICATION FROM ANYONE AT TOYOTA REGARDING THIS SERIOUS MATTER.
SLIDING DOOR CABLES SNAPPED NOT ALLOWING THE SIDE DOORS TO OPEN. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN NOT ALLOWING OCCUPANTS TO EXIT THE VAN IN AN EMERGENCY.
I HAD A CATASTROPHIC OIL LEAK ALL OVER MY DRIVEWAY AND GARAGE. RESEACHED HISTORY OF THIS TYPE AND FOUND IT WAS IT WAS A RUBBER HOSE ASSOCIATED WITH OIL TRANSFER (ALSO CALLED THE V V T 1 ACTUATOR HOSE. A VOLUNTARY RECALL ON THIS PART ENDED IN 2013. I WILL HAVE IT FIXED BY A LOCAL CAR REPAIR SHOP BUT IF THIS IS A KNOWN PART FAILURE FOR YEARS, WHY WOULD TOYOTA NOT MAKE A MANDATORY RECALL OF THIS FAULTY PART? MY 2009 TOYOTA SIENNA WHICH I JUST PURCHASED 2 MONTHS AGO WILL NOW HAVE A MAJOR CAR REPAIR.
2009 TOYOTA SIENNA WITH MILEAGE LESSER THAN 110,000. THE LEFT SLIDING DOOR WONT OPEN. LOOKED AT THE TOYOTA WEB SITE AND FOUND OUT THAT ITS PART OF THE VEHICLE WARRANTEE AS LONG AS ITS MILEAGE IS LESSER THAN 120,000. *NF THE CONSUMER STATED THE DEALER ADVISED THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE OIL COOLING HOSE POPPED WHILE DRIVING CAR. APPARENTLY THERE WAS A RECALL/SERVICE BULLETIN FOR THIS ISSUE INVOLVING OTHER TOYOTA AND LEXUS VEHICLES. FOR SOME REASON THERE WAS NONE ISSUED FOR THIS VEHICLE. NOW THERE IS ENGINE DAMAGE. TOYOTA DROPPED THE BALL ON THIS ONE. THEY NEED TO BE HELD LIABLE FOR THE DAMAGE.
PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR STOPPED WORKING AND THE BEEPER IS ON AT ALL TIMES. LOCAL DEALER STATED THAT THE COST OF REPAIR WOULD BE UP TO $3300.00. IS THERE A MORE COST EFFECTIVE OPTION FOR ME?
A DEALERSHIP INSPECTION ON AUGUST 30, 2017, ON MY 2009 SIENNA VAN WITH 76,096 MILES ON IT I WAS TOLD THE POWER STEERING UNIT WAS LEAKING AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE COST WOULD BE 1014.98 PLUS ALIGNMENT, SHOP FEES, AND TAXES. MY DAUGHTER HAS A 2010 SIENNA VAN WITH OVER 100,00 MILES AND HAS NOT HAD THAT PROBLEM. SOMETHING IS AMISS WITH TOYOTA AND THEIR STEERING SYSTEM. I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT THE STEERING LEAKAGE SEEMS TO BE A COMMON.
POWER SLIDING DOOR CABLE FAILURE THAT PULLS THE DOOR OPEN. NINE OPENED ABOUT 6 INCHES THEY STOPPED AS IF IT HIT SOMETHING. HAD TO BREAK THE CABLE TO GET DOOR OPEN
MY 2009 SIENNA NO LONGER HAS SIDE DOORS THAT ARE OPERATIONAL. ON BOTH SIDE DOORS THE SLIDING CABLE IS BROKEN AND THE CABLE ASSEMBLY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT THAT FOR SOME UNKNOWN REASON IS NOT COVERED BY TOYOTA'S WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT POLICY POL12-02, SINCE ALTHOUGH MY SIENNA HAS ONLY 110,000 MILES IT IS NOT WITHIN THE MODEL YEARS 2004 TO 2007. THERE IS NO REASONABLE EXPLANATION WHY MY 2009 SIENNA, WHICH HAS THE SAME CABLE DEFECT AS THE 2004 TO 2017 MODELS, WOULD NOT BE SUBJECT TO THE WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT. THE LACK OF WARRANTY COVERAGE LEADS TO A DANGEROUS SITUATION AS MY PASSENGERS (TWO YOUNG DAUGHTERS MUST EXIT THE CAR THROUGH THE TRUNK. MOREOVER, THE CONDITION PREVENTS ME FROM USING THE CAR AS INTENDED. I AM THE OWNER OF 4 TOYOTA VEHICLES AND AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE POOR QUALITY OF MY SIENNA. I HAVE TRIED TO CONVINCE THE DEALERSHIP (I MET WITH PENN TOYOTA IN NY) AS WELL AS TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION (I SPOKE WITH PAM G BY PHONE) TO REMEDY THE SITUATION BUT TO NO AVAIL.
DRIVERS SIDE SLIDING DOOR CABLE SNAPPED. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZZARD. IT HAPPENED WHILE MY DAUGHTER WAS STANDING WAITING FOR THE DOOR TO OPEN AND THE CABLE JUST SNAPPED RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER FACE. WE WERE IN OUR DRIVEWAY AND THE VAN WAS STATIONARY. THAT CABLE CAME SHOOTING OUT FROM THE CHASE IT SITS IN SUPER FAST. I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS CABLE IS ACTUALLY OUTSIDE THE CAR!
BODY- AT 112,000 MILES, DRIVER'S SIDE SLIDING DOOR WIRE SNAPPED FROM NORMAL USE. INFERIOR MATERIAL AND OR DESIGN ALLEGED. FUEL ITEM CHARCOAL CANISTER, OIL CONTROL VALVE, AND OXYGEN SENSOR FAILURE AT 116,000 MILES.
THE BEADS ON COOPER CS 5 TIRES ARE BULGING ON THE SIDE WALLS CAUSING BLOW OUTS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON INTERNET REGARDING THIS ISSUE. THE LOCAL COOPER TIRE DEALER AND COOPER MANUFACTURER ARE DENYING THESE ISSUES. THEY BOTH STATE IT IS THE WAY THE SHOP IS MOUNTING AND BALANCING THE TIRES. IF THAT WAS THE CASE, WE WOULD HAVE ISSUES WITH GOODYEAR, FIRESTONE, BF GOODRICH, CONTINENTAL, ETC TIRES. THE COOPER MANUFACTURER IS TRYING TO SAY THAT THE COOPER CS 5 TIRES ARE SENSITIVE. AS STATED SHOPS FROM KANSAS, FLORIDA, NEW YORK, ETC ARE COMPLAINING OF THE SAME ISSUE
TOYOTA 2009 SIENNA LE 2WD POWER STEERING RACK & PINION SEAL FAILED AND LEAKED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AT 85,000 MILES. THE RACK BOOT ALSO TORE BROKEN. REPAIR COST IS ESTIMATED AT APPROXIMATELY $1,300. NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ARE POSTED BY OWNERS ON THE INTERNET ALL POINTING TO THE SAME DEFECT. IF DRIVERS ARE UNAWARE, OR IF THE DEFECT IS NOT RESOLVED, POWER STEERING COULD FREEZE AND POTENTIALLY CAUSE LIFE THREATING SITUATIONS.
THE CABLE SNAPPED ON OUR ELECTRIC REAR PASSENGER DOOR MAKING IT UNABLE TO OPEN IT. IT SEEMS THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND IS A SAFETY CONCERN!
SLIDING PASSENGER DOOR CABLE BROKE. COULD NOT CLOSE DOOR AND THEN LATER. COULD NOT OPEN DOOR. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. DEALER STATES $1000-$2000 TO REPAIR.
THE DRIVER'S​ SIDE SLIDING DOOR CABLE JUST SNAPPED, AND NOW CANNOT BE USED. NOT FOR KIDS TO GET OUT.
POWER SLIDING DOOR CABLE ASSEMBLY HAS BROKEN. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN REPORTED IN MULTIPLE MODEL YEARS FOR THE TOYOTA SIENNA, AND THERE WAS A WARRANTY EXTENSION PUT IN PLACE TO REPLACE ANY ON SIENNAS THAT ARE A MODEL YEAR OF 2007 OR OLDER. THERE SHOULD BE A WARRANTY EXTENSION FOR 2008 AND NEWER SINCE THE ISSUE STILL APPEARS IN THESE MODEL YEARS.
CABLE SNAPPING ON AUTOMATIC SLIDING DOOR IN THE VAN. THE CABLES THAT OPERATE THE AUTOMATIC FUNCTION OF THE SLIDING DOORS SNAPPED ON BOTH DOORS WITHIN 9 MONTHS OF EACH OTHER AS THE DOOR WAS BEING CLOSED. THIS CAUSED THE DOOR TO BE STUCK SHUT (BECAUSE OF THE WAY THE CABLE COILED WHEN IT SNAPPED). ONCE WE GOT HOME WE WERE ABLE TO GET THE DOOR OPEN BUT NOW IT THE CLOSES VERY HARD OR IS VERY HARD TO OPEN WHEN ON INCLINES.
