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
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 TOYOTA TACOMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT BOTH DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS WOULD OVERHEAT AND CRACK OR DISCOLOR THE LENS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THAT THE LENS WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 TOYOTA TACOMA. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 35 MPH AND MAKING A SLIGHT LEFT TURN WHEN ALL OF THE TENSION IN THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED DIFFICULTY IN CONTROLLING THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO INSPECTED THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE THE STEERING ASSEMBLY, COLUMN, AND SPIRAL CABLE. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WOULD ALSO NEED TO HAVE A WHEEL ALIGNMENT PERFORMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND A CLAIM WAS FILED. THEY OFFERED NO OTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,144. PHONE LOG (15-OCT-2012): MR. HONG SAID THAT THE STEERING WHEEL TURNED FREELY BUT THERE WAS NO VEHICLE STEERING CONTROL. HE WAS NOT SURE WHAT ACTUALLY FAILED IN THE STEERING COLUMN. HE SAID THAT HE IS THE ORIGINAL OWNER, THAT THERE WAS NO PRIOR ACCIDENT WITH THE VEHICLE, AND THAT THERE WERE NO PRIOR REPAIRS THAT REQUIRED DISASSEMBLY OF THE STEERING WHEEL OR THE STEERING COLUMN.
SHORTLY AFTER I PURCHASED THE ABOVE VEHICLE ON JUNE 17, 2010 I WAS IN A SHOPPING CENTER PARKING LOT WHEN SUDDENLY THE ENGINE RACED TO A VERY HIGH SPEED AND I HAD TO QUICKLY PLACE THE TRANSMISSION IN NEUTRAL TO AVOID LUNGING FORWARD. I CALLED THE TOYOTA DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND THEY TOLD ME TO BRING IT IN WHICH I IMMEDIATELY DID. WITHOUT PERFORMING ANY CHECKS ON THE VEHICLE THE SERVICE MANAGER AND I WENT FOR A DRIVE AND HE CONCLUDED IT WAS THE MANNER I WAS MOVING MY FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO THE BRAKE PEDAL THAT CAUSED IT TO OCCUR. FOR A WHILE I WAS SATISFIED WITH HIS ANSWER BUT ON ANOTHER OCCASION ABOUT A YEAR AGO THE SAME THING HAPPENED AND I THOUGHT I HAD SUBCONSCIOUSLY DID THE SAME THING WITH MY FOOT TO CAUSE THE PROBLEM. HOWEVER THIS PAST THURSDAY I WAS AGAIN STOPPED AT AN INTERSECTION AND THE ENGINE SUDDENLY WENT INTO FULL THROTTLE AND MY FOOT WAS NOWHERE NEAR THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. ONCE AGAIN I HAD TO QUICKLY PLACE THE TRANSMISSION IN NEUTRAL IN ORDER TO AVOID MOVING INTO THE INTERSECTION AND CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. *JB
SIDEVIEW MIRRORS VIBRATE CAUSING LOUD NOISE AT FREEWAY SPEEDS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 TOYOTA TACOMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED ON, THE RPMS INCREASED TO 1500 FOR SEVEN MINUTES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FELT AS IF IT WERE GOING TO SUDDENLY ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF HOWEVER, THE FAILURE WAS RECURRING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE FAILURE. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE OR GENERATE A FAILURE CODE FROM DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 25,500. UPDATED 12/30/13*CN THE CONSUMER STATED FROM A COLD START, RPM AT 1500 DID NOT DECREASE TO A SAFE RPM 700 FOR 7 MINUTES, WHICH CAUSED UNDUE WEAR AND TIRE TO ENTIRE DRIVE TRAIN, TRANSMISSION UNIVERSAL JOINTS AND REAR AXLE.
AS I WAS DOING MY MONTHLY INSPECTION ON MY TRUCK, I NOTICED THAT MY DAY-TIME RUNNING LIGHTS WAS STARTING TO MELT DUE TO GETTING OVERHEATED WHILE DRIVING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 TOYOTA TACOMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE DEVELOPED A LOUD NOISE IN THE DIFFERENTIAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO ADVISED THAT THE OCCURRENCE WAS NORMAL FOR THE DIFFERENTIAL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS STATED AS PERFORMING ACCORDING TO STANDARDS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 44,000.
DEAR SIR OR MADAM: I PURCHASED A 2010 TOYOTA TACOMA DOUBLE CAB 4X4 AT THE END OF 2010. AND WITHIN MONTHS OF MY PURCHASE I NOTICED EXCESSIVE CORROSION UNDER THE VEHICLE TAKING PLACE. I REPORTED THE PROBLEM TO THE DEALERSHIP AND MY CONCERNS WERE EITHER DISMISSED OR SIMPLY IGNORED. APPROXIMATELY 1 YEAR LATER, DURING THE CORROSION RECALL OF THE PREVIOUS TACOMA'S, I REPORTED MY OBSERVATIONS TO THE TOYOTA SAFETY RECALL DEPARTMENT. THIS TIME I WAS TOLD I COULD PAY FOR A CORROSION TREATMENT, BUT NO RECALLS WERE YET TAKING PLACE FOR THE 2010 MODELS. I ASK YOU TO PLEASE LOOK IN TO THE TOYOTA CORROSION PROBLEM, IT EXTENDS FROM 2004 TO THE PRESENT. AND IT IS NOT ABOUT JUST LEAF'S THAT COULD FRACTURE. IT IS ABOUT TOYOTA FAILING TO ACKNOWLEDGE A PROBLEM THAT WAS ALREADY TAKING PLACE IN OTHER EARLIER MODELS. *TR
THE DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS GOT SO HOT THAT THE LENSES MELTED AND CRACKED AND THE LIGHT BULB SOCKETS ARE BURNED. THE LENSES ARE NOT CAPABLE OF WITHSTANDING THE HEAT GENERATED BY THE BULBS. WITHER THE LENS PLASTIC IS NOT IN FEDERAL LAW COMPLIANCE, THE BULBS ARE TOO HOT OR THE BULBS ARE TOO CLOSE TO THE PLASTIC LENSES. WHATEVER IT IS, THERE WILL EVENTUALLY BE A FIRE. *TR
FUEL PUMP CONTINUED TO RUN AFTER THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS TURNED OFF ON THE 2010 TOYOTA TACOMA TRUCK AND THE KEY REMOVED FROM THE VEHICLE. I INSERTED THE KEY AND TURNED THE IGNITION ON. WAITED 30 SECONDS THEN TURNED THE KEY BACK OFF, THE PUMP DISENGAGED. THE TACOMA HAS APPROXIMATELY 9000 MILES. IF THIS OCCURRED AGAIN UNNOTICED, WOULD IT CREATE A FIRE HAZARD? *KB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 TOYOTA TACOMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS BEING BROUGHT TO A STOP, THERE WAS A THUMP THAT CAME FROM THE DRIVE SHAFT. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE SLIP JOINT AND THE DRIVE SHAFT BEARING SUPPORT JOINT WERE CAUSING THE FAILURE. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT THIS WAS A KNOWN FAILURE, BUT THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT FOUND A CORRECTION TO THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE SLIP JOINT SHOULD NOT COME APART, BUT IT COULD CAUSE THE DRIVE SHAFT TO FAIL AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 TOYOTA TACOMA. THE CONTACT STATED HE LOADED HEAVY MATERIAL ONTO THE TAIL GATE OF THE VEHICLE AND THE HINGE BROKE. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DENIED ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24,600 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 25,000.
2010 TOYOTA TACOMA SR5 SPONTANEOUSLY ACCELERATES WHEN STOPPED. THIS HAS OCCURRED TWICE SINCE WE BOUGHT THE TRUCK ON 5-30-11. AFTER THE FIRST INCIDENT (6-26) WE REPORTED IT TO THE DEALER AND TOOK THE TRUCK IN FOR INSPECTION. NOTHING WAS FOUND. THE DEALER REMOVED THE DRIVER'S FLOOR MAT. AFTER THE SECOND INCIDENT (6/29), WE CALLED THE DEALER AND THE DEALER SAID THEY WOULD CONTACT TOYOTA AND CALL US BACK. AS OF 7-01-11, WE HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM THE DEALER. NOW AT A STOP, WE PUT THE TRUCK IN NEUTRAL TO PREVENT AN ACCIDENT. *TR
I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH WITH THE DRIVER'S WINDOW DOWN, WHEN A RUNNING DEER MADE CONTACT WITH MY DRIVER'S SIDE MIRROR WITH IT'S HEAD. THE MIRROR WAS VIOLENTLY SHUT INTO IT'S FOLDED-IN POSITION CAUSING THE MIRROR TO SHATTER AND PROJECT LARGE AND SMALL PIECES OF VERY SHARP GLASS ACROSS THE DASHBOARD AND FORWARD AREA OF THE CABIN. DAMAGE THAT WAS DONE IN THE GLASS' PATH WERE CUTS ON MY LEFT HAND, SLICE MARKS ON THE STEERING WHEEL COVER, AND PUNCTURE MARKS ON THE DASHBOARD, PASSENGER-SIDE A-PILLAR, AND PASSENGER-SIDE DOOR PANEL. INCORRECT MIRROR MATERIAL AND/OR PROPER BACKING MATERIAL PLAYED PARTS IN WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN A CATASTROPHIC EVENT IF THE DEBRIS FIELD WAS DIRECTED TOWARDS THE DRIVER AND/OR PASSENGER (IF THERE WAS ONE). THE MIRROR MATERIAL WAS NOT SAFETY GLASS OR MADE FROM OF A SHATTER-RESISTANT MATERIAL. THE BACKING MATERIAL SURFACE CONTACT AREA WITH THE BACK OF THE MIRROR WAS ONLY ABOUT 45% OF THE MIRROR'S SURFACE AREA.

ON SLIPPERY ROAD SURFACES THE VEHICLE FISHTAILED. ALSO, WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS APPLIED, IT WOULD TRAVEL CLOSELY TO THE FLOOR, LOWER THAN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE CONSUMER STATED THE ACCELERATOR AND BRAKE PEDAL WERE DESIGNED TOO CLOSE TOGETHER AND SOMETIMES HIS FOOT WOULD HIT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WHILE ATTEMPTING TO BRAKE. *JB

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,000.
SINCE THIS VEHICLE HAD 5000 MILES ON IT I HAVE HAD CLUTCH ISSUES. HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 5 TIMES FOR CLUTCH ISSUES AND IS CURRENTLY IN THE SHOP NOW. THE CLUTCH IS BURNING UP, THOUGHT THE TRUCK WAS GOING TO CATCH FIRE A FEW WEEKS AGO. THERE HAS BEEN A TSB ON THIS ISSUE AND THEY REPLACED EVERYTHING ON THE LAST SERVICE. IT HAS FAILED AGAIN WITH ON 3,000 MILES ON THIS NEW CLUTCH. THE VEHICLE IS A LITTLE OVER 1 YEAR OLD AND CURRENTLY HAS 23,000 MILES ON IT. TOYOTA IS GIVING ME THE RUN A ROUND AND NOW WANTS ME TO PAY FOR WARRANTY WORK. I HAVE REPEATEDLY TOLD THEM THEY HAVE A WEAK DESIGN CLUTCH, MADE FOR A 2 WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE IN A 4X4 TRUCK. WE THINK THE CLUTCH SLIPPED SO MUCH A FEW AGO IT REALLY DID CATCH FIRE, IT SMOKED FOR 10 MINUTES AFTER I TURNED THE TRUCK OFF. I HAVE FILED WITH THE HOUSTON BBB AND FILED WITH TOYOTA. I NEED HELP *JS

THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO APPLY THE BRAKES AS WELL AS THE EMERGENCY BRAKE BUT THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. SHE THEN SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL AND PARK IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 7,000.
I NOTICED WHILE DOING A WALK AROUND OF MY TRUCK THAT ONE OF THE HEADLIGHTS WAS BURNED OUT. I THOUGHT NOTHING ABOUT THE ISSUE AND PLANNED TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. WITHIN 2 WEEKS THE OTHER SIDE BURNED OUT AS WELL. THIS HAS NOW HAPPENED 3 TIMES (77,000MILES). I HAVE SPOKEN WITH SEVERAL OTHER OWNERS AND MANY ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE, INCLUDING A FAMILY MEMBER AND COWORKERS. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AS IF YOU DON'T CATCH WHEN THE FIRST ONE BURNS OUT THE OTHER FOLLOWS SHORTLY THEREAFTER AND CAN LEAVE YOU STRANDED. *TR

THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,500 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 26,000.
WHEN DRIVING DOWN MY DRIVEWAY IN RI AT APPROX 6-8 MPH, I APPLIED MY BRAKES TO STOP AT THE BOTTOM OF THE DRIVEWAY BEFORE REACHING THE MAIN ROAD. MY BRAKE PEDAL KICKED BACK, GOT HARD TO DEPRESS AS THE ABS TOOK OVER AND I HAD NO BRAKES AT ALL AND COULD NOT STOP. THE BRAKES WERE NOT OPERATING AT ALL. I WENT UNCONTROLLABLY OUT INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. *TR

AS THE BRAKES WERE ENGAGED, THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESPOND AND THE VEHICLE ROLLED TO A STOP. THE FAILURE RECURRED TWICE BEFORE THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WERE NO FAILURES AND IT WAS A CHARACTERISTIC OF THE ANTI LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BUT PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
MY 2010 TACOMA, WHILE SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT, SUDDENLY SURGES AS IF SOMEBODY HIT THE GAS OR SLAMMED ME IN THE REAR. IT HASN'T PUSHED ME BEYOND MY BRAKES BUT IT IS VERY DISTURBING. I REPORTED THIS TO THE TOYOTA DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T REPRODUCE IT. IT DOESN'T HAPPEN WITH ANY REGULARITY, IT JUST HAPPENS OUT OF THE BLUE. ADDITIONALLY, WHEN YOU GO TO VERY LOW SPEEDS AND MAKE A SHARP TURN THE RPMS JUMP TO ABOUT 3,000 AND THEN IT FEELS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION KICKS IN. THIS WAS ALSO REPORTED TO THE DEALER WHO SAID IT WAS BY DESIGN BUT IF IT IS IT IS POOR DESIGN. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, BUT THE RESULTS WERE UNKNOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
THIS IS A FOLLOW-UP TO ODI NUMBERS 10444039 & 10444967. AFTER MUCH WORK ON MY PART, A TOYOTA FACTORY REPRESENTATIVE EXAMINED THE VEHICLE IN QUESTION ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE FACTORY REPRESENATIVE WAS ABLE TO REPRODUCE THE OCCURENCE TWICE. THE SOLUTION OR GUESS AT THE TIME, WAS TO REPLACE THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. THIS WAS DONE ON 3/12/12. THE PROBLEM STILL OCCURS. FINAL OUTCOME WAS MADE AFTER FINDING ANOTHER VEHICLE (JUST ONE) LIKE MINE IN THE STATE OF VIRGINIA. THAT VEHICLE WAS TAKEN OUT AND DRIVEN BY A FACTORY REPRESENTATIVE. THAT VEHICLE ALSO SHUDDERED WHILE BREAKING TO AND MAINTAING THE SPEED OF 20MPH. FINAL ANALYSIS/ANSWER WAS THAT THE COMPUTER HAD A PROBLEM WITH OPEN AND CLOSED LOOPS AND A TEMPERATURE INVOLVING 138 DEGREE'S. NO FURTHER SOLUTIONS WERE OFFERED; VEHICLE "OPERATING AS DESIGNED". THEY GAVE ME A CASE NUMBER & TOLD ME AFTER THE 3RD ATTEMPT TO CALL THERE WAS NOTHING ELSE THEY COULD DO. TO THIS VERY DATE I STILL CAN NOT GET ANYONE @ THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP OR TOYOTA HEADQUARTERS TO RETURN MY CALL IN REFERENCE TO THIS. WHENEVER SLOWING DOWN FROM 25 MPH TO MAKE A TURN OR JUST TO SLOW UP, WHEN ACCELERATOR IS AGAIN PUSHED DOWN TO SPEED UP, THE TRUCK "HUNTS" FOR THE PROPER GEAR, USUALLY SHIFTING TO TOO LOW A GEAR FOR THE SPEED NEEDED (TRANSMISSION/COMPUTER PROBLEM), CAUSING VEHICLE TO PAUSE & NOT PICK UP SPEED. 2010 TACOMA CREW CAB WITH 18,000 MILES, AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS COLD OR WARM IT SEEMS TO SLIP OUT OF GEAR GOING AROUND CORNERS OR ACCELERATING FROM A STOP IN A STRAIGHT LINE. THIS DOES NOT OCCUR EVERYTIME BUT AT UNEXPECTED TIMES. ALSO AFTER I HAVE SLOWED DOWN TO ROUND A CORNER OR CROSS AN INTERSECTION THE TRUCK FEELS AS IF IT SHIFTS TO NEUTRAL GEAR AND WHEN THE GAS PEDAL IS DEPRESSED NO FORWARD MOVEMENT OCCURS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER YET THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,276 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 3,000.
BOUGHT MY 2010 TACOMA USED. DID NOT OBSERVE ANY ISSUES DURING LONG TEST DRIVE. VERY NEXT DAY BEGAN TO NOTICE AUTO TRANSMISSION NOT FINDING CORRECT GEAR AFTER SLOWING THEN MAKING A TURN; DOES NOT HAPPEN WHEN TRUCK IS BROUGHT COMPLETELY TO REST WITH PAUSE BEFORE THE TURNS. I ALSO NOTICE TRANSMISSION SHUDDER AT TIMES WHEN SLOWING IN STRAIGHTLINE; FEELS SAME AS CLUTCH SLIP / STALL WITH MANUAL TRANS IF GEAR TOO HIGH FOR SPEED. AND MY TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTS TOO DEEP WHEN I BRAKE MEDIUM HARD GOING DOWNHILL. I HAVE BEGUN TO MANUALLY SHIFT DURING TURNS WITHOUT STOPS. HAD DEALER INSPECT TRANSMISSION FLUID & SYSTEM AT FIRST OIL CHANGE AND DISCUSSED OBSERVATIONS WITH SERVICE TECH. WAS TOLD MINE IS FINE, OPERATING NORMALLY, & THAT THESE TRANSMISSIONS ARE HYPER-ACTIVE. BEGINNING TO THINK MY TOYOTA SELECTION WAS A MISTAKE. DOES ANYONE MAKE A TROUBLE-FREE VEHICLE THESE DAYS? *TR
THE CLUTCH ARM ON THE 2010 TACOMA IS SO FAR TO THE LEFT THAT IT OBSTRUCTS THE FOOTREST. IF I USE THE FOOTREST, MY LEFT FOOT TENDS TO HIT THE SIDE OF THE CLUTCH PEDAL OR GETS STUCK BETWEEN THE CLUTCH PEDAL AND THE DRIVER'S SIDE KICK PANEL WHEN I RAISE MY FOOT TO APPLY THE CLUTCH. ALSO, ON A LONG DRIVE, IF I TRY TO STRETCH MY LEG OUT WHILE DRIVING, MY LEFT FOOT GETS STUCK BETWEEN THE FOOT REST AND THE BACK OF THE CLUTCH ARM. IT HAS NOT CAUSED AN ACCIDENT, YET. BUT, I HAVE STALLED THE VEHICLE ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AS A RESULT. THE POTENTIAL IS DEFINITELY THERE FOR A MORE SERIOUS ACCIDENT. *TR
