Open the full vehicle complaint log (all categories)MY TRUCK RECENTLY STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS TURNING ON. I NOTICED IT ONLY HAPPENS WHEN THE FUEL TANK IS HALF-FULL OR JUST BELOW HALF. THE TRUCK FINALLY STARTS AFTER 4 OR 5 ATTEMPTS AND RUNS FINE FOR THE MOST PART. SOMETIMES WHEN I AM DRIVING IT KICKS A LITTLE, LIKE IT LOSES A LITTLE BIT OF POWER BUT QUICKLY REGAINS IT. WHEN THE TANK IS FULL IT STARTS WITH NO PROBLEMS. I HAVE BEEN READING ONLINE THAT IT IS MORE THAN LIKELY FUEL RELATED, SPECIFICALLY THE FUEL PUMP. THE TRUCK IS JUST A LITTLE OVER 40K MILES AND ACCORDING TO TOYOTA, THE FUEL PUMP, IF THAT IS THE CASE, SHOULD LAST MORE THAN 100K BEFORE MALFUNCTIONING. I FEEL THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM TO START HAVING WITH A TRUCK THAT IS STILL FAIRLY NEW, AND IT IS NOT CHEAP TO REPLACE. I AM ASKING TO PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS AS A POSSIBLE MANUFACTURER DEFECT. THANK YOU. *TR
Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA. A high complaint count may reflect vehicle popularity, not defect severity. Data sourced from NHTSA public records.
