Vehicle losses a lot of power after being in a stop sign and trying to accelerate, there is also a ticking sound in the engine. With my fuel my car shows that there’s a full tank but in reality there is half a tank.
There are many incidents, issues, and critical safety problems with my vehicle. I have had multiple repair attempts, with multiple Toyota Car Dealerships, and have continued to have the same amount of problems, and issues with this vehicle. Multiple leaks of fuel, smells of gas and burning, odometer reads brakes failing, and danger lights, Transmission shifting issues, Engine knocking while driving and at a complete stop, Brake issues, By the grace of God my family and I have not been in an accident yet. I have taken my car in for repairs multiple times and to this day my vehicle is still being repaired at the dealership as we speak. My vehicle has cumulatively been at the dealership for almost 3 months. My family and I are under an assortment of insurmountable mental, and physical stress with the level of unsafe, unfit, and unreliable attempts to not only trust this vehicle to operate safely, but trust the service technicians to safely, and correctly diagnose the many unsafe issues with this vehicle. I have made several attempts in filing cases, complaints, and attempts of contact, to resolve these multiple issues with the manufacturer, and have had no such luck. Please, for the safety and daily life continuity of my family. Please help me resolve these issues with the manufacturer. My family, and I do not feel safe and do not feel like our issues are being acknowledged or resolved. Please let me know if there is anything that can be done so that my family can safely, and cordially operate a functioning vehicle. Thanks and God Bless. I have been informed that my vehicle was affected by the recall involving the machining debris and therefore unsafe to drive. The dealership in Kendall Toyota, who is not normally my service dealer called me and after removing all my belongings and waiting for hours I was told my rental car was a Chevrolet Traverse, which I was unable to use for my business and was told I had to leave it with them indefinitely, and so I called my usual dealership in Hollywood, who informed me they would be able to help me out with a more appropriate rental vehicle the next day I advised the dealership at Kendall picked up my truck and went to Toyota of Hollywood only to be sent away stating that they did not have the remedy and we’re not able to help me. I have since followed up and every time I go in they tell me again only once I get there they don’t have the remedy and this is happened three times. I feel unsafe driving the vehicle and would very much like to have a safe and dependable vehicle to which I feel I am owed considering how much I paid for this truck . I feel like I am getting the runaround.

Toyota has recall, stall engine , knocking noise
I backed out of my drive way and then proceeded to the stop sign at the end of my street which is three houses from mine. Turned left off of [XXX] onto [XXX] I started to accelerate to speed limit which is 25. I then looked at speedometer it stated I was going 15 mph then all of a sudden my truck accelerated to almost 69 mph then my truck slammed in the brakes. My foot was still on the gas petal and I never felt the gas petal push down when it accelerated. No my cruise control was not activated and no lights came on to indicate what it was doing or that there was anything wrong. Steve’s Hometown Toyota could not find anything wrong with the truck, but then again I don’t trust them I gave them a month to get the guy to fix it and the part and the loaner to fix the canister on my Highlander but when my appointment came up the guy couldn’t stay the full 5 hours to fix my car and they did not have a loaner and did not have the part. That is how I got into the 2023Toyota Tundra. Then it develops a brain that it wants to go faster then slammed on the breaks. That truck hurt me and gave me whiplash. They want me to pick it up. I am not driving it. I am lucky no one was in the truck and on the road the time the incident happened. I have made a report to Toyota and let them know that I have doctors notes and my daughter was on the phone with me through the truck not on my phone. I am afraid that they are going to put me back into the same truck that hurt me. Know I find out that the 2023 trucks have a recall on them. They still don’t have an answer for me. What if they put me in another Toyota truck what if they have the same problems. I used to have faith in Toyotas but now I don’t. It hurt me and I am still having issues from that stupid truck. Lag in acceleration. Press the accelerator and vehicle takes a few seconds to respond. Trying to right turn on intersection and due to acceleration lag almost got hit by another vehicle. The accelerator should respond immediately when pressed just like it does on all the other vehicles I have driven. This has happened on multiple occasions with this vehicle.
On numerous occasions when I am at a stop sign leaving work and trying to accelerate onto the 4 line highway my vehicle acceleration has a delay in it causing me to not properly accelerate into traffic almost causing me to get hit on numerous occasions. I have complained about this situation to the dealer and was told once that it was normal for the delay and once that it is just a V6 engine so that is why the delay. I am sure that I am not the only person having this issue is a problem and will be the result of many accidents if not addressed.
The contact owned a 2023 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed he began to lose control of the vehicle in which he stated the vehicle would swerve uncontrollably. The contact also stated that his trailer had detached from the tailgate which caused the trailer to jackknife the rear end of the vehicle which cause his rear tire to blow out which caused the vehicle to stop and not crash into any objects No medical attention was needed but the contact drove himself to the hospital after the accident and stated he still suffers from emotional damage. A police report was filed. The vehicle and trailer were towed to a storage facility. The contact also stated that the air bags did not implode during the accident. The dealer was contacted, and the vehicle was not repaired The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 18,000.
My truck engine was stalled shortly couple times on me. 1- When I try to turn right to get out of my sub division in the morning, my truck stalled. I released the gas paddle and step on it again and this time the truck is going ok. Luckily the coming car be able to stop before hitting my truck. 2- One time I went out for lunch with a friend, when we got back to the company's parking lot, I tried to back up the truck and the truck one stalled. I released the gas paddle and step on it again and it is ok. My friend thought it may be the rain outside.

I have lost engine power while driving highway speeds on more than one occasion. There is no consistency on when this condition occurs. The engine light comes on and the engine goes into limp mode. Under the current circumstances, my Tundra is unsafe and poses a hazard to me and communities at large. This is because there is something faulty with my Tundra that is causing the sudden loss of engine power. Once I pull to the side of the highway, turn off the engine, then restart the Tundra the engine light goes away and the truck operates normally and does not register a fault code.

My Tundra has a build date of January, 2023. The Engine recall by Toyota included models up till February 13, 2023. I want to know specifically why my vehicle was not included in the recall even though it was built within the recall period.
2 incidents to where the vehicle turned off on a heavy acceleratio. 1st incident -pulled out into traffic and accelerated heavily. Truck stopped and a warning light came on about emergency brake. I took it to dealer and the couldn't duplicate but called Toyota to talk to them qith no resolution. 2nd incident same thing heavily accelerated while pulling into traffic and car shut down with a different warning saying to pull over and restart truck. Took to Toyota with still no resolution There was about 10k Mike between the 2 incidents
We have had this vehicle about a year and a half, 2023 Toyota Tundra and have had to take it back and forth to McLarty Toyota for recall work. Concerning this particular recall, 24ta07-Engine may stall during driving, we were told is unfixable. If this vehicle cannot be fixed, we are demanding it be replaced with a reliable truck
The rear passenger window trim will come loose and could fly off and hit other vehicles. I have brought this back to the dealer twice and they claimed to have replaced it but it is still malfunctioning. Upon MY investigation it seems like the actual door was not hemmed properly thus not allowing the window trim to seat and stay seated. The driver's side rear door does not have this issue. Furthermore, I have checked new vehicles in the dealer's inventory and found the same issue on multiple NEW vehicles at North Park Toyota in San Antonnio, TX.
While driving on the freeway, going about 65 mph and attempting to accelerate, the check engine light starting alarming and came on, and the vehicle engine shut off. I was able to somehow safely navigate the vehicle across multiple lanes of traffic without causing an accident. I lost power steering and any ability to accelerate. After being able to navigate to the side of the freeway, it took multiple times to restart the vehicle, but it did finally restart. During the remainder of the drive the issue did not occur again. I called the dealership where it recently was having recalls performed to have them look into the cause of this. They were able to tell me that the engine "stalled" but they had no resolution or desire to further investigate this matter. This is extremely disturbing to me as I am very lucky that this did not cause a major accident. I am currently pregnant with my second child and my son is [XXX] old. It is very scary to think that I could potentially be seriously harmed with my children in the vehicle if this even were to happen again. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 41,000.
The engine has rough idle, the dealership says they see a misfire and they say is normal for the vehicle to do this, is a brand new vehicle I bought with 9 miles im at 14 thousands now, and the truck has died using the 4wd and completely turned off, i took it to the dealership and they said the same like the engine, they cleared codes and thats all, i dont trust this vehicle i left it stranded on the sand once and the recalls they dont have solutions for any of them, toyota is neglecting customers now.
I was traveling on a hwy with the highest posted speed limit in the U.S. Without any warning the entire engine stopped. Made it to shoulder and the info screen went haywire. Tried six separate times to restart vehicle. Restarted and made it to destination without further incident. The outcome of sudden engine loss could’ve been fatal to myself and other drivers that were near me at the time. Took vehicle to dealer and was told no codes were found at all.
I am writing to bring to your attention a critical safety concern regarding the Toyota Tundra, specifically related to the rear tailgate functionality. It has come to my attention, and I have personally experienced, that the rear tailgate of the Toyota Tundra can unexpectedly open while the vehicle is in drive mode if the key fob is accidentally pressed. This poses a significant safety risk to not only the driver but also to any passengers and other drivers on the road. The unintended opening of the tailgate can lead to cargo falling out onto the road, causing accidents and potentially endangering lives. I believe that this issue warrants immediate attention and investigation by the National Transportation Safety Authority (NTSA). It is imperative that Toyota addresses this issue promptly to prevent any potential accidents or injuries. I urge the NTSA to conduct a thorough investigation into this matter and work with Toyota to implement a solution that ensures the rear tailgate remains securely closed while the vehicle is in motion. Additionally, I recommend that Toyota issues a safety recall to rectify this potentially hazardous defect. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I trust that the NTSA will take appropriate action to address this safety concern and ensure the safety of all road users.
Excessive wear on Tires at the edge due to vehicle not holding alignment. Contacted tire manufacturer with pictures and they have confirmed its a vehicle alignment issue. Vehicle has been aligned at Toyota dealership always, but still it is consuming tires and outer edges are now below dangerous levels. Toyota is offering no remedy

The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact pulled over and restarted the vehicle. The contact was able to drive the vehicle to the residence. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure, and no error code was retrieved. The dealer confirmed that parts for the recall repair were not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Hesitation from a stop. Vehicle isn’t following pedal input and at times can put me into a side collision. Lane keep assist is dangerous and throws me off the road constantly. At times the lane assist will fight my input at the wheel and pull me off-road and over the lines.
Fuel gauge randomly resets itself to full. This could lead to the vehicle running out of fuel without the driver knowing that it was low. Confirmed by dealer via video evidence of the vehicle taking 14.4 gallons to fill when the gauge read over 3/4 tank (tanks is only 32 gallons).

Bad alignment causing front tires to wear abbormally.
Excessive Tire wear, even after repeated alignments at Toyota dealerships. Tire excessively weakened within 20,000 miles leading to unsafe driving conditions
While traveling at highway speed, with no warning my truck lost acceleration power. There were other vehicles in the road, and I had to travel across multiple lanes to get to an exit while the vehicle was continuously slowing down. This put myself and my children at risk due to the sudden loss of power. I was able to exit and turn the engine off, after which, the problem seemed to stop. I took my truck to the dealership where it was purchased to have them check the truck, and they were unable to reproduce the problem. Their inspection only showed them that there were engine misfires. They told me the issue would need to be reproduced or would need to happen to me again before anything could be done about it or before they could get Toyota involved. I did explain that I had the "Reduced Engine Power" and "Brake System Malfunction" warning light that, through my research, have been experienced with other Tundra owners when they had "engine failures."
I PURSHASED MY VEHICLE 4/13/24 AND ON 4/30/24 (IMPORTANT SEFETY RECALL APPEAR) I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THE IN MY CAR, BECAUSE OF SET RECALL ' ENGINE TO STOP WHILE DRIVING ' MY CAR IS NOT DRIVING SMOOTHLY LIKE IT SHOULD DRIVE A ''NEW CAR'' WHEN I START DRIVING THE CAR IT START TO SHAKING AND THROTTLE LAG 'LIKE THE CAR DO NOT WANT TO DRIVE' WHEN I CONTACT THE DEALER, THEY SAID " WE CALL WHEN THE REMEDY IS AVAILABLE'' MY CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE, I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE MY CAR CAUSE IT RECALL THAT IT HAS, I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO ENJOY MY CAR LIKE IT SHOULD, CUASE IM AFRAID THAT I WILL GET ON AN ACCIDENT. PLEASE I NEED SOMEONE TO HELP ME, NO ONE IS DOING NOTHING IT BEEN A YEAR AND MY CAR IS GETTING WORST, AND I STILL MAKING PAYING ON THE CAR THAT I CAN NOT ENJOY. I NEED MY CAR FIX ASAP.
I was traveling south on [XXX] in Sarasota, FL, around 70-75 miles per hour and the engine shut down with warning. I coasted to a stop and was able to pull in the left emergency lane out of traffic. This could have been a tragic situation because cars were traveling 70 plus mph in that area. I tried to restart the car but all I got was a clicking sound from the starter, I also smelled a faint burning smell form the engine compartment. I had to have the vehicle towed into a local Toyota dealership and was advised several days later that the engine would have to be replaced as metal shavings were found inside of it. Toyota's design of their dash mounted "infotainment" display screen software requires reentry of a 6 digit pin any time vehicle internet connectivity is lost. This interrupts the map routing display that appears on the display screen through sources such as Apple CarPlay. This Toyota software designed interruption of the route display represents a safety hazard in that it prompts the driver to take their eyes off the road to screw around with entering a 6 digit PIN code. Worse still, according to Toyota documentation, EVERY TIME vehicle internet connectivity is interrupted, this same prompt to enter a PIN is displayed. Apple CarPlay and I'm sure other map apps are not designed so poorly as to require the driver to reauthenticate their credentials upon loss of internet connectivity. I feel the design of Toyota's infotainment system software represents an unacceptable safety risk to American drivers.
- A dealership in DFW replaced the drive seat frame in truck due to metal creaking while driving. After the replacement everything was fine until my friend hit her toe against driver side seat frame covered by felt tape. From the factory the truck comes with plastic frame guards to prevent injury to rear passengers but Toyota has failed to fix the issue several times. I recently found out that all Tundra's with powered seats have this safety issue as I was talking to dealer employee who recently purchased a 2024 Tundra then we walked the lot and every single higher trim Tundra with powered seats all have this felt tape over the metal substructure. The felt tape provides no shock absorbing properties resulting in bruising when a rear passenger tries to exit the truck wearing open toe shoes.
When pressing gas pedal from a stop position the car hesitates for a couple seconds and then goes all while the gas is pushed down
The contact owns a 2023 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that while depressing the accelerator pedal after a traffic stop or a traffic sign, the vehicle hesitated and stalled. The contact stated that several attempts were needed to restart the vehicle. The contact stated there was no warning light illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 19,000.
Vibration at lower speeds felt in steering, pedals, driver seat and front passenger seat. Posses danger to operator and other traffic as this vibration could be mistaken for departure warning. Notified Toyota cooperation but they seem eager to close the case.

Enterprise rented me recalled car. I asked about check engine light and they said it was for oil change. Kept for 30 days renting it twice.
When I drive the vehicle for a period of time and use a 1/3 of the fuel in the vehicle and park on non level surface: Meaning the front of the vehicle is pointed up and rear is lower the fuel gauge will register full on vehicle restart. Even if I drive the vehicle around and park it on a level surface and restart the vehicle it still fails to show the correct amount of fuel in the vehicle. In addition it will slowly subtract fuel based upon driving that is inline with normal fuel usage: It never registers that you are actually 1/3 lower then indicated on the gas gauge. I have identify two ways to address the issue of the gauge not registering the correct amount of fuel in the tank: 1) Refill the truck with maximum amount of fuel 2) Disconnect the negative battery terminal, let the truck sit for 30 seconds, and then reconnect the negative battery terminal. It will then register the correct amount of fuel in the truck The safety concern is I could run out of gas in unsafe manner on the road.
A few complaints: #1: First is the infotainment system continuously requests a pin be entered. I would enter the pin, but the pin screen pops up again and again whenever the system is on. Had the dealership look at it, they stated the info system has the latest software and I was instructed to contact Toyota. After a 2+hour phone call, resetting app passwords a few times, resetting pin a few times, starting the truck a certain way, and other things I cannot completely remember, finally got it to accept the pin and stop pin request screen from popping up. That worked for about 1 week, and since then the screen pops up. I no longer try to enter the pin just hit the x button (kind of hard and dangerous entering 6 digit pin 30 times while going 75 on the highway). I would estimate screen popping up about every 1-2 minute. #2: Truck has 6,400 miles on it, brakes started squealing around 4k miles or less, getting progressively worse. I have tried washing brake dust away at car wash, no help. Sounds like when a car is getting to the last of the brakes. Are they that worn in 6k miles, I hope not, but how am I supposed to know when or if they need to be replaced? Very annoying, and dangerous since I can't rely on the brakes squealing to let me know need replaced. #3: 1 week ago after stopping at a red light, about 5 seconds passed when the truck jerked violently and slightly moved forward, all while I had the brake pedal pressed. It was so hard I was certain I had just got rear ended, but as I looked in the mirror preparing to get out of the truck, I saw the car behind me was barely approaching 20+ feet back. This is only time it has happened so far, but very concerning, will let the dealership know as well, but I can already hear their response "we weren't able to replicate the issue". Fuel line recall, still haven't fixed it (but will be setting appointment to take it in for all the described things, again, and hopefully get my 2nd key, been 9 months already).
When attempting to accelerate, the vehicle idles down and fails to accelerate for a period of 2-3 seconds. To initiate normal acceleration, fully depressing the accelerator pedal is required vs. a gradual depression of the pedal.
THROTTLE LAG/HESITATION
My truck’s windows (all 4) have terrible seals (not tight to window) that are allowing water to enter door. Windows have a jerk motion when wet and lowering. Moisture is present inside the cab on windows. Rear windows are extremely loose and can be a potential safety issue (I have video). Risk can fall on rear passengers because of instability of windows. Repair tech stated in report that there was an issue with windows by reproducing same motions with new trucks on lot (I have video from Toyota tech). Just inspected by dealer. No warning lamps. I have been trying to resolve this with Toyota Corp. with no further details of solution. I have all correspondence.
