TAKATA RECALL - RECALL HAS BEEN OUT SINCE FEB 2016 AND TO DATE THE REPAIR HAS NOT BEEN COMPLETED. VERY CONCERN FOR THE SAFETY OF THIS VEHICLE AS IT IS DRIVEN DAILY IN COMMUTER TRAFFIC. AS I AM UNABLE TO TRADE IN VEHICLE AT ROSEVILLE VW WITHOUT THE DEALER CHARGING ME $3000 DUE TO THE CANNOT RETAIL THE CAR UPON TRADE IN. MORE OVER I AM CONCERN FOR THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE AND WISH NOT TO DRIVE IT UNTIL REPAIR IS FIXED.

TAKATA RECALL VW ISSUED AN INTENT TO RECALL MY CAR APPROXIMATELY 6 MONTHS AGO. VW CLAIMS THEY STILL DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO PERFORM THE NECESSARY REPAIR. 6 MONTHS IS AN UNREASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME TO DRIVE A CAR WITH AN ISSUE THAT CAN CAUSE SEVERE INJURY OR DEATH. HONDA IS PROVIDING RENTAL VEHICLES UNTIL CERTAIN CARS CAN BE FIXED. VW HAS COMMUNICATED NOTHING FURTHER.

IT'S BEEN MORE THEN 8 MONTHS SINCE THE FIRST RECALL WAS REPORTED ON MY 2013 VW CC AIRBAG. I'M DRIVING ABOUT 280 MILES PER WEEK WITH A VEHICLE THAT IS DEEMED UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I EVEN WENT TO MY LOCAL SUNSET VW DEALERSHIP TO TRADE IN MY VEHICLE FOR A USED LEXUS. I RECEIVED A VERY LOW OFFER FOR MY VEHICLE AND WAS TOLD THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT SELL A VEHICLE WITH A RECALL ON IT WOULD GO DIRECTLY TO AUCTION. THAT'S THE REASON FOR THE LOW OFFER. THE VW MANUFACTURER SHOULD AT LEAST TAKE SOME OF THE BURDEN OF THE DECREASED VALUES OF THE VW VEHICLES.
TAKATA RECALL. IT HAS BEEN 8 MONTHS SINCE VW ANNOUNCED THE RECALL, BUT THEY HAVE YET TO PROVIDE A REMEDY TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. ALL THE WHILE I REMAIN DRIVING A VEHICLE WITH A DEFECTIVE AIRBAG INFLATOR. NO TIMELY RESOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM SO I AM NOT SURE IF THEY ARE UNABLE TO OR UNWILLING TO REPAIR THE ISSUE. 8 MONTHS SEEMS LIKE MORE THAN ENOUGH TIME TO AT LEAST DETERMINE THE REPAIR. *TR

TAKATA RECALL. NOTIFIED IN FEBRUARY, 2016. STILL NOT REPLACED.
NOTHING HAS HAPPENED YET, I RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE AND HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE IN FOR WARRANTY REPAIRS 3 TIMES IN THE PAST 4 MONTHS, EACH TIME I REQUEST FOR THE AIRBAG RECALL TO BE FIXED AND EVERY TIME I AM TOLD THEY DON'T HAVE THE EQUIPMENT OR REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR IT. I WAS JUST RECENTLY INVOLVED IN AN AUTO ACCIDENT IN WHICH THE DRIVERS AIRBAG AND KNEE BOLSTERS FAILED TO DEPLOY, CAUSING ME PRETTY SEVERE PAIN AND INJURY. I AM NOW AFRAID TO DRIVE MY NEW VOLKSWAGEN SINCE I HAVE RECEIVED THE SAFETY RECALL NOTICE.
WHILE DRIVING AT ABOUT 45 MPH THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WITH THE WARNING TO TAKE CAR TO THE DEALER FOR SERVICE IMMEDIATELY. I DID GO, IMMEDIATELY, AND WHILE THE SERVICE MANAGER COULD NOT TELL ME EXACTLY WHY, I WAS CHARGED $600 TO REPLACE PISTONS. ABOUT TWO MONTHS LATER WHILE DRIVING SLOWLY IN A PARKING LOT, I STARTED TO TURN ONTO THE DRIVEWAY AND THE CAR SIMPLY STOPPED, WENT DARK, AND THE STEERING BECAME IMPOSSIBLE. AFTER TRYING SEVERAL TIMES AND THEN SITTING FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES THE CAR STARTED AGAIN. IT WAS A LEASED CAR THAT I INTENDED TO BUY FOR MY DAUGHTER. I TURNED THE CAR BACK IN AND DID NOT BUY IT.
TAKATA RECALL IN MY VW CC 13' I HAVE NOT HAD MY RECALL TAKEN CARE OF AND IT IS A LIFE OR DEATH CONCERN. WE NEED TO GET THIS FIXED
I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE 12/12 AS A DEMO WITH 5K MILES ON IT. THE TIRES AROUD 9,000 MILES WERE WORN SO UNEVEN I JUST COULDNT TAKE IT ANYMORE. AFTER GOING BACK AND FORTH WITH DEALER THEY AGREED THAT THEY WOULD PAY FOR 3 TIRES IF I WOULD PAY FOR ONE. I DID IT AND THOUGH I WOULD BE DOING GREAT WITH MY NEW MICHELIN PILOT SPORT AS3, BUT SINCE THE LAST ROTATION I FEEL LIKE I AM DRIVING A TRAIN (RUH, RUH. RUH. RUH). I AM GOING TO BRING UP THE NEGATIVE CAMBER ISSUE THAT MANY MANY PEOPLE COMPLAINE ABOUT AND SEE IF THERE IS A PERMANENT FIX. IN MY AND MANY OTHER PEOPLES OPINION THIS CAR IS PERFECT MINUS THIS. I WOULD THINK BY NOW THEY WOULD HAVE COME CLEAN AND ISSUED A RECALL OF SOME SORT.
AT ABOUT 43K MILES I WAS DRIVING ON A MULTI LANE HIGHWAY WHEN THE CAR STARTED VIOLENTLY TREMBLING/JERKING THEN SPUTTERED AND TURNED OFF. I WAS ABLE TO TURN IT BACK ON AND GET ONTO A SIDE MEDIAN. THE CAR CONTINUED TO JERK I DROVE TO DEALERSHIP IMMEDIATELY A FEW MILES AWAY. BY THE TIME I GOT THERE IT WAS NO LONGER JERKING AND ONLY RANDOM MISFIRES IN THE ENGINE WHERE FOUND ON DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE CAR SINCE BEFORE THAT TIME AND STILL HAS A LOW LEVEL BUT NOTICEABLE TREMBLE WHEN IT IS IDLE. I HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES TO HAVE IT ADDRESSED BUT THEY CLAIM TO NOT BE ABLE TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM.
I HAVE REPLACE TWO SET OF TIRES ON MY 2013 VOLKSWAGEN CC. I TWICE BY TWO DIFFERENT VEHICLE MAINTENANCE COPIES THAT BOTH SET OF TIRES SHOWED CUPPING WEAR. THIS IS DUE TO VEHICLE SUSPENSION, SHOCKS, STRUTS. CURRENTLY THERE A LARGE NUMBER OF CUSTOMERS WHO PURCHASE THE VOLKSWAGEN CC MODEL COMPLAINING OF THE SAME PROBLEM. THERE WAS ALSO AN APPARENT LAWSUIT FILE (CASE 1:17-CV-23033-RNS), AGAINST VOLKSWAGEN OF AMERICA REGARDING THE SAME ISSUE MANY CUSTOMERS ARE HAVING. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH VOLKSWAGEN OF AMERICA REGARDING MY PROBLEM, STATING THAT IN THE PASS COUPLE OF YEARS I HAD TO REPLACE TWO SET OF TIRES FOR THIS REASON. TIRE CUPPING CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS DUE TO UNEVEN TIRE WARE, NOT TO MENTION THE SUSPENSION BEING THE MAIN PROBLEM OF THE VEHICLE. IMPROPER SUSPENSION COULD LEAD TO DANGEROUS BREAKING ISSUES. AFTER READING THE MANY REVIEWS FROM CUSTOMERS COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE, AND REPORTING THIS ISSUE TO VOLKSWAGEN TO NO AVAIL SINCE 2010. I'M ASKING NNTSA TO PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS DANGEROUS ISSUE THAT VOLKSWAGEN IS NOT ADMITTING TO. I HAVE INCLUDED THE COURT DOCUMENT THAT WAS FILED IN AUGUST OF 2017.

THE PART WAS ORDERED, BUT THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,000.

AFTER CONTACTING THE DEALER ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WERE STILL NOT AVAILABLE AND NO ESTIMATED TIME FOR RECEIVING THE PARTS COULD BE GIVEN. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 VOLKSWAGEN CC. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS, THE VEHICLE RESTARTED. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE THE DIAGNOSIS WAS UNKNOWN. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATE CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO CRASH INTO A GROCERY STORE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO HER HAND THAT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE THE DIAGNOSIS WAS UNKNOWN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,200.
ENGINE STALLED AND DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF CITY HWY, TWICE, WHILE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, WITHOUT ANY PRIOR WARNING, TOOK TO DEALER THEY SAID IT MIGHT BE THE ALTERNATOR & ONLY REPLACED THE BATTERY, IT WAS SUCH A SCARY SITUATION, I HAVE NOT DRIVEN THE CAR ON THE FREEWAY SINCE. RECENTLY, THE CAR HAS STALLED AGAIN, WHILE IN MOTION IN MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DEALER, ACCORING TO DEALER, THERE IS CARBON BUILD UP IN VALVES & COIL PACK FAILURE, NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY DUE TO 'MAINTENANCE ISSUE' NOWHERE IN OWNER MANUAL DOES IT STATE ANY FORM OF MAINTENANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS, TOOK CAR TO INDEPENDENT CERTIFIED MECHANIC,SPARKPLUGS & 4 COIL PACKS REPLACED, SAME SYMPTOMS CONTINUE WITH #4 PLUG BURNING OUT,CAUSING FUSE TO BURN OUT AS WELL, FILLING CAR WITH SMOKE & SMELL OF BURNT RUBBER, IND MECH. STATES VEHICLE'S PROB IS NOT CARBON BULD UP BUT AN ELECTRICAL/ENGINE ISSUE WHICH IS A SAFETY HAZARD, THE LAST TIME,VEH STALLED ON ME IN MIDDLE OF CROSSROAD, WHLE IN MOION. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT OR RIDING MY KIDS IN IT. AT THIS MOMENT VEH IS SITTING IN DRIVEWAY, UNDRIVEABLE FOR ABOUT 3 WEEKS, WILL NOT TURN ON, ALL THIS, AFTER HAVING THE VH FOR ON LY 7 MONTHS, & @ OVER 40K MILES.I FEEL THAT EVEN IF IT WERE REPAIRED, THIS VEH IS SO UNSAFE IT SHOULD NOT BE RESOLD TO ANYONE ELSE, OR BE IN CIRCULATION AT ALL. I TRIED RETURNING IT TO THE DEALER, THE DEALER OFFERED TO TAKE IT IN AS A TRADE IN OFFERING HALF THE TRADE IN VALUE DUE TO 'CONDITION IT IS IN' EVEN THOUGH I HAVE TAKEN IT TO DEALER AT EAST 3 TIMES WITH ISSUES. MAIN CONCERN IS THE STALLING WHILE IN MOTION, I FEEL IT IS AN EXTREMELY UNSAFE VEHICLE.
TAKADA RECALL WAS INVOLVED IN A WRECK AND MY AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY ,NONE OF THEM. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE BECAME PROGRESSIVELY WORSE, WITH ROAD NOISE ENTERING THE VEHICLE EVERY TIME IT WAS UTILIZED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT ALL THE TIRES WERE OUT OF ROUND AND WERE CUPPING. THE TIRES WERE NOT REPLACED. THE TIRES WERE THE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE VEHICLE AND TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,000.
PURCHASED THIS CAR NEW. STARTED EXPERIENCING SHUDDERING AND GRINDING SENSATION FROM THE FRONT END OF CAR WHEN IN MOTION. IT IS ESPECIALLY BAD AT LOWER SPEEDS. THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMS TO HAVE CHECKED THE BRAKES AND SUSPENSION OF THE CAR AND FOUND NOTHING WRONG. HOWEVER, THEY FOUND THAT MY TIRES ARE CUPPING AND THAT IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM. I AM FEARFUL TO DRIVE THIS CAR AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I BELIEVE A TIRE OR SUSPENSION FAILURE IS IMMINENT.
I HAD MY REAR BRAKES AND ROTORS REPLACED AT 23,600 MILES AND I WAS JUST INFORMED THAT I NEED REAR BRAKES AND ROTORS AGAIN AT 37,961. I BOUGHT THE CAR AT 6205 MILES ON THE ODOMETER AND I HAD TO HAVE MY BRAKES SERVICED BOTH FRONT AND REAR AT THE DEALERSHIP AND I BROUGHT MY CONCERNS WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER ABOUT BRAKES WITH THE PARTICULAR MODEL. I HAVE OWNED 2 JETTA'S PRIOR TO THE CC AND NEVER HAD BRAKE ISSUES LIKE THIS.. I CALLED VOLKSWAGEN CORP. HEADQUARTERS IN AMERICA AND THEY'RE TAKING A NO HANDS APPROACH WITH MY CONCERNS AND I STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT THESE VEHICLES HAVE BRAKING ISSUES AND IT MAKES NO SENSE FOR A CAR TO GO THROUGH REAR BRAKES EVERY 12 TO 15,000 MILES AND THE AUTO MAKER BELIEVES THAT'S NOT SOMETHING TO TAKE A LOOK AT. FINAL MODERATE FRONT OVERLAP CRASH WITH GUARDRAIL FAILED TO DEPLOY DRIVER AIRBAG. AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT THRESHOLD WAS CERTAINLY MET FOR FRONTAL CRASH AND THERE IS EVIDENCE OF BROKEN SENSORS. MY 2013 VW CC TURNED OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC WITH MY THREE CHILDREN IN THE BACK SEAT. THIS HAPPENED TWICE: ONCE ON A BUSY ROAD AND ONCE ON THE HIGHWAY. THE FIRST VW SERVICE DEPARTMENT I TOOK IT TO TOLD ME IT WAS THE TYPE OF GASOLINE I WAS USING. THE SECOND VW SERVICE DEPARTMENT KEPT MY CAR FOR ONE WEEK AND TOLD ME THE PROBLEM WAS RESOLVED. NOW THE ELECTRICAL CONTROLS SEEM TO HAVE GONE HAYWIRE: WINDOWS RAISE AND LOWER ON THEIR OWN AND THE RADIO SCANS BY ITSELF. I DROVE LIKE THIS FOR A WHILE UNTIL THE CAR DIED. WHEN I CALLED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT, THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE BATTERY. THIS CAR SEEMS TO HAVE A SERIOUS ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTION AND I'M CONCERNED THAT VW IS NOT ACKNOWLEDGING THE EXTENT OF THE PROBLEM. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY. *TR
EXCESSIVE HIGH IDLE CAUSING CAR HARD TO BRAKE. I NEED TO CONSTANTLY APPLY HIGH BRAKE PRESSURE TO KEEP THE CAR STOPPED. IDLE STAYS ABOVE 900 RPM ALL THE TIME. *TR
UPON TURNING THE VEHICLE, THE ENGINE STARTS UP NORMALLY. HOWEVER AS SOON AS THE ENGINE IS STARTED UP, IN PARK MODE, THE STEERING WHEEL INSTANTLY BEGINS TO VIOLENTLY AND OUT OF CONTROL SHAKE, VIBRATE, TWISTS, AND SHAKE THE WHOLE VEHICLE. THE ACT DOES NOT STOP UNTIL THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF. THIS HAPPENS FOR AN ADDITIONAL THREE TO FOUR TIMES UNTIL THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF, AND STEERING WHEEL IS TURNED EITHER WAY UNTIL YOU FEEL IT LOCK INTO PLACE OR CLICK INTO PLACE. TAKATA RECALL. ALL LOCAL DEALERSHIPS SAY (AS THEY HAVE SAID SINCE JUNE OF 2013) THAT THERE IS NO FIX AVAILABLE YET. I HAVE OWNED THE CAR SINCE 2013 AND 5 YEARS LATER THERE IS STILL NO FIX AND I DO NOT WANT TO DIE IF AND WHEN THE AIRBAGS EXPLODE AND SHOOT SHRAPNEL INTO MY EYES.
I BOUGHT A NEW VW CC THAT IS A 2.0T AND HAS A MANUAL TRANSMISSION. BEFORE BUYING AND JUST TEST DRIVING THE CAR, THE CAR DROVE JUST FINE. THE ISSUE IS THAT AFTER THE CAR WARMS UP FOR A WHILE, THE RPMS WILL HANG FOR A FEW SECONDS AFTER YOU LET OFF THE GAS. THIS CAUSES MANY SAFETY ISSUES AND I HAVE NOW FOUND OUT THAT ALL VW CARS MADE IN 2013 WITH THE 2.0T ENGINE HAVE THIS ISSUE. I ALMOST CRASHED THE CAR DUE TO THIS ISSUE A COUPLE WEEKS AGO WHEN IN SLOW STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. NOT ONLY IS THE REV HANG IS WEARING OUT CLUTCHES PREMATURELY AND MAKES THESE CARS VERY DIFFICULT TO DRIVE, IT IS ALSO A SAFETY CONCERN SINCE THE ENGINE KEEPS THE THROTTLE OPEN FOR A FEW SECONDS AFTER WE LET OFF OF THE GAS. THE CAR JUST DRIVES ON ITS OWN LIKE IT HAS CRUISE CONTROL ON FOR A FEW SECONDS!!! IF YOU ARE DRIVING THE CAR IN THE SNOW AND THE WHEELS ARE SPINNING AND LOSING TRACTION, THEY WILL CONTINUE TO SPIN FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME AFTER YOU LET GO OF THE GAS WHICH CAN CAUSE YOU TO CRASH. GOOGLE "VW REV HANG" MY CAR HAS BEEN BACK TO THE DEALER A FEW TIMES FOR THIS AND THEY CLAIM THAT NO ISSUE WAS FOUND. I THEN TEST DROVE OTHER 2013 VW CARS WITH THIS ENGINE AND FOUND THAT ALL OF THE CARS I DROVE HAVE THE RPM HANG ISSUE. I HAVE OWNED 7 CARS WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS IN THE PAST AND I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANY OTHER CAR DO THIS. I STILL HAVE MY 2006 VW 2.0T CAR WITH A MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND THAT CAR DRIVES JUST FINE. PLEASE LOOK IN TO THIS ISSUE AND UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN THAT AFFECTS ALL 2013 VW CARS WITH 2.0T ENGINES THAT ARE SOLD IN THE US WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS. THE VEHICLE BEGAN SHOWING SIGNS OF MALFUNCTION IN AUGUST OF 2012 (VEHICLE WAS LEASED THE END OF JUNE) WHEN IT WOULD TAKE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO START THE VEHICLE AND ONCE STARTED THE VEHICLE WOULD OCCASIONAL CUT OFF OR RUN REALLY ROUGH FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES. THE ENGINE LIGHT STAYED ILLUMINATED FOR 2 DAYS. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER TO HAVE IT SERVICED AND AFTER 2 DAYS THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. RETURNED VEHICLE TO ME WITH NO RESOLUTION. CAR RAN FINE FOR 4 MONTHS THEN ON DECEMBER 17TH THE SAME ISSUES BEGAN TO OCCUR BUT MORE SEVERE THIS TIME. I WAS TRAVELING ON A RURAL HIGHWAY AT 45 MPH WHEN THE WHOLE CAR SHUT OFF LEAVING NO POWER, BRAKING OR STEERING CAPABILITIES. LUCKILY THERE WAS NO ONE RIGHT BEHIND ME AND I WAS ABLE TO COAST THE CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND EJECTED THE KEY. RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND LIMPED THE CAR BACK TO MY DRIVEWAY AS IT WOULD NOT GO OVER 30 MPH WITH THE PEDAL PUSHED TO THE FLOOR. THE VEHICLE REMAINED IN SERVICE FOR 2 DAYS AND THE DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED IT AS A FUEL MODULE ISSUE, REPLACED THE MODULE AND RETURNED THE CAR. ON SATURDAY DECEMBER 22ND THE SAME ISSUES OCCURRED AGAIN. THE CAR WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A 3RD TIME AND REMAINED THERE FOR 22 DAYS AS THE MECHANICS COULD NOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE AGAIN. FINALLY THE PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED AS A CRACK IN THE WIRING HARNESS AND VIBRATION WAS CAUSING THE WIRE TO TOUCH THE ENGINE AND STALL OUT. THE CRACK WAS FIXED WITH TAPE AND THE WIRE ROUTED AWAY FROM THE ENGINE. I DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING THE CAR TO AND FROM WORK AS I TRAVEL ON VERY SUBURBAN ROADS TO GET THERE. VOLKSWAGEN IS NOT WILLING TO TAKE THE CAR BACK AS THEY FEEL THE ISSUE HAS BEEN RESOLVED. A VEHICLE THAT COMPLETELY SHUTS OFF AT HIGH SPEEDS IS A SEVERE CONCERN. *TR
I HAVE HAD VW CC'S SINCE 2009 AND HAVE BEEN TRADING THEM IN FOR A NEW MODEL EACH YEAR. UPON GETTING A 2013 VW CC I RETURNED TO THE DEALER THE WITHIN 72 HOURS OF PURCHASING THE CAR AS I HAVE BEEN HAVING STALLING ISSUES AT LOW SPEEDS (ESPECIALLY WHILE TURNING) DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE DSG TRANSMISSION. I HAVE BROUGHT MY VEHICLE BACK SEVERAL TIMES IN REGARDS TO THE SAME ISSUE. THE FIRST TIME, I WAS TOLD THAT THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED CHANGING (AT 36 MILES), THE SECOND, THIRD AND FOURTH TIMES I BROUGHT THE CAR INTO GUNTHER VW I WAS TOLD BY THE HEAD SERVICE ADVISOR THAT THE ISSUES ON MY CAR WERE RESOLVED AND I SHOULD NOT HAVE ANY FURTHER ISSUES EACH TIME. NEEDLESS TO SAY WHEN I SPOKE WITH THE MECHANIC DIRECTLY HE INFORMED ME THAT THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO DETECT THE PROBLEM (EVEN THOUGH I HAD VIDEO OF THE CAR CAUSING THE ISSUE) AND NOTHING WAS DONE. NOT ONLY WAS I LIED TO MANY TIMES, BUT VW CORPORATE WAS WILLING TO SWAP OUT MY CAR WITH A NEW ONE AS I HAVE BEEN A LOYAL CUSTOMER AND THEY DID NOT WANT TO LOSE ME. HOWEVER DUE TO THE EXTREME NEGLIGENCE AND LIES OF THE HEAD SERVICE ADVISOR I WAS DENIED A SWAP AS HE INFORMED CORPORATE THAT THERE ARE NO ISSUES WITH MY CAR. UNTIL THIS DAY MY VEHICLE STILL STALLS AT LOW SPEEDS AND IS A HAZARD AND DANGER TO MYSELF AND THE PUBLIC, YET NO ONE AT VW CARES ENOUGH TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND PROVIDE ME WITH A VEHICLE THAT I FEEL SAFE TRANSPORTING MY FAMILY IN. I FOUND OUT VW HAS RE-DESIGNED THEIR BRAKES FOR A 'SOFT FEEL'. BUT THE BRAKES NOW TRAVEL ALMOST TO THE FLOOR WHEN SLOWLY PUSHED DOWN, AND YOU HAVE TO PUMP THE PEDAL TO GET A FEEL THAT THE BRAKES ARE TAKING EFFECT. IN FACT THE TRAVEL OF THE BRAKE PEDAL IS LOWER THAN THE LEVEL OF THE GAS PEDAL AND THIS IS WHERE THE SAFETY ISSUES COMES IN. BECAUSE OF THIS EXCESSIVE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL, I HAVE ON A NUMBER OF OCCASIONS FOUND MY FOOT PRESSING BOTH THE BRAKE AND GAS PEDALS AT THE SAME TIME. PARTICULARLY AT SLOW SPEEDS - LIKE IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, OR COMING TO A SLOW STOP IN THE GARAGE. WHEN THAT HAPPENS, THE ENGINE STARTS TO REV UP AS THE BRAKES TRY TO STOP THE CAR - NEEDLESS TO SAY IT SCARED THE CRAP OUT OF ME. CHECKING THE VARIOUS CAR FORUM WEB SITES (EDMUNDS, KELLY, ETC.), I FOUND OUT I AM NOT ALONE WITH THIS PROBLEM. I'VE GONE BACK TO THE DEALER WHO BLED THE BRAKES AND DONE THE USUAL CHECKS AND SAID THE BRAKES WHERE 'UP TO SPEC'. BUT THE SERVICE MANAGER ADMITTED THAT THE NEW VW BRAKING SYSTEMS ARE "SOFT" AND IF YOU HAVE BIG FEET, YOU HAVE TO LEARN TO REPOSITION YOUR FOOT EACH TIME YOU WHAT TO USE THE BRAKES. HE ALSO SAID TO BE AWARE THAT THE LONG BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL MY "FEEL FUNNY" FOR A WHILE - LIKE THE CAR ISN'T GOING TO STOP . IF I HAVE TO REPOSITION MY FOOT EACH TIME TO BRAKE IN ORDER TO AVOID THE GAS PEDAL , I'LL END UP WRAPPING THE CAR AROUND A POLE !
