THE CAR INITIALLY EXPERIENCED HARD SHIFTING SINCE THE FIRST WEEK WE PURCHASED IT. THE DEALER FOUND NO FAULTS. THE CAR EVENTUALLY HAD A LOSS OF POWER WHILE DRIVING DUE TO A FAULTY MECHATRONICS UNIT. DURING THE FAILURE MODE, THE CAR ENGINE LOST ALL POWER WHICH RESULTED IN A LOSS OF SPEED AND INABILITY TO ACCELERATE. THE FAILURES HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING. PREVIOUS VW EOS MODEL YEARS HAD A RECALL FOR THIS UNIT.

IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE OCCASIONALLY HAD ISSUES REVERSING AND ACCELERATING. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED, BUT NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE DEALER DID NOT GIVE A SPECIFIC DATE FOR WHEN THE PART WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER COULD NOT PROVIDE AN ESTIMATED DATE FOR WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD RECEIVE THE RECALL REPAIR. TAKATA RECALL: MY CALL WAS RECALLED IN FEBRUARY OF 2016 FOR REPLACEMENT OF THE AIR BAG INFLATOR. AFTER NUMEROUS CALL TO REQUEST THE NEW PART & AFTER CHECKING IN PERSON AT THE NORM REEVES VOLKSWAGEN DEALERSHIP (IRVINE, CA) IN NOVEMBER OF 2016, THEY STILL CANNOT REMEDY THE SITUATION. THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THAT IT ONLY RECEIVES A FEW PARTS EACH WEEK! THEY JUST TODAY (4-3-17) PUT ME ON A LIST AND WILL SUPPOSEDLY CALL WHEN THE PART COMES IN FOR MY MAKE & MODEL. FOR A LIFE THREATENING RECALL SITUATION, THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!! WHY DIDN'T THEY PUT ME ON "THE LIST" WHEN I CALLED THE PRIOR TIME? OR WHEN I COMPLAINED IN PERSON DURING MY SERVICE LAST NOVEMBER? VOLKSWAGEN OBVIOUSLY DOES NOT CONSIDER THIS RECALL A PRIORITY. PLEASE PRESSURE THEM TO REPLACE THESE DEFECTIVE INFLATORS IMMEDIATELY!!

TAKATA RECALL NOT REMEDIED BY VW. LOCAL DEALER HAS NO PARTS FOR THIS RECALL
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 VOLKSWAGEN EOS. WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, IT INDEPENDENTLY SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL. THE ANTI SKID CONTROL WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE OPERATED BY RESTARTING THE VEHICLE NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A MASTER COMPUTER ERROR AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE ALSO EXPERIENCED A COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FAILURE WAS A TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 68,000. UPDATED 06/15/16*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE MASTER COMPUTER WAS REPAIRED. HOWEVER, TWO MONTHS LATER, THE PROBLEM RESURFACED AGAIN. AFTER THE TRANSMISSION GEAR BOX WAS REPAIRED, THE CRUISE CONTROL STOPPED WORKING. UPDATED 06/27/16.*JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 VOLKSWAGEN EOS. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO TURN ON THE ENGINE, THE KEY FAILED TO START THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE LOCAL MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE TIMING CHAIN FRACTURED AND THAT THERE WAS NO COMPRESSION. THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIMING CHAIN, VALVES, AND ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,000.
DRIVER'S SEAT AIRBAG IS DEFECTIVE. THIS WAS DISCOVERED WHEN THE VW DEALER REPAIRED THE STEERING WHEEL AIRBAG ON RECALL. I'VE RESEARCHED THE SEAT AIRBAG AND TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MASTER AUTO MECHANIC WHO TOLD ME THE WIRING TO THE SEAT AIRBAG IS GETTING CAUGHT ON THE DRIVERS SEAT TRACK. DEFINITELY, AN ASSEMBLY DESIGN DEFECT THAT VW REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE. THERE IS AN INTERNET FULL OF IDENTICAL DRIVER'S SEAT AIRBAG ISSUES.
FOR AT LEAST THE LAST YEAR THE CAR HAS BEEN "JERKING" AND/OR "NOT TAKING OFF" WHEN I STEP ON THE ACCELERATOR (WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STAND STILL OR IF PRESSING ON THE PEDAL WHEN IN MOTION). I HAVE TOLD THE AUTO DEALER MORE THAN ONCE AND WAS TOLD THEY CHECKED IT AND IT WAS FINE. SO, THE LAST TIME I TOOK IT IN (THE CAR ONLY HAS 39,000 MILES ON IT) I INSISTED THAT SOMEONE FROM THE DEALERSHIP TAKE A RIDE WITH ME AS THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTED. THE TECH ADVISOR DID AND ADMITTED THERE IS DEFINITELY A PROBLEM. I WAS 1ST TOLD IT WAS A MECHATRONIS CODING ERROR HAVING TO DO WITH THE DSG. NOW I HAVE BEEN TOLD IT IS A CLUTCH PAK AND THAT IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I SPOKE TO VWOA AND THEY SAID SOME OF THE VEHICLES HAD BEEN GRANTED DSG WARRANTY EXTENSIONS HOWEVER, MINE WAS NOT ONE OF THEM BECAUSE MY VIN DIDN'T SHOW IN THEIR RECORDS. SINCE I CLEARLY HAVE THE PROBLEM OF THE NON-ACCELERATION AND THE JERKING; IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V483000 (STEERING) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 43,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
2010 VW EOS. DSG TRANSMISSION.<43,000 MILES. ISSUE: INTERMITTENT - LOSS OF MOTIVE POWER ATTEMPTING TO MOVE FROM STATIONARY POSITION TO REVERSE/DRIVE AND/OR DELAYED POWER ENGAGEMENT (JERKING). LOSS OF POWER WHEN SHIFTING INTO REVERSE FROM STATIONARY POSITION ON COMMON DRIVE (SLIGHT INCLINE) CAUSES THE CAR TO ROLL FORWARD PRESENTING RISK OF COLLISION (ONCOMING VEHICLE FROM OPPOSING GARAGE, PEDESTRIAN, INFRASTRUCTURE). DELAYED ENGAGEMENT JERK IN SAME SITUATION PRESENTS RISK OF COLLISION (PASSING VEHICLE (WAITING FOR ME TO MOVE, DECIDES TO PASS, CLUTCH ENGAGES AND JERKS CAR BACKWARDS), PEDESTRIAN, INFRASTRUCTURE). PARALLEL PARKING ON MAJOR CITY STREET LOST POWER IN REVERSE AND DRIVE CAUSING TRAFFIC BACKUP AND OTHER VEHICLES TO VEER INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC LANE. UNPREDICTABLE DELAYED DRIVE ENGAGEMENT WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC ON MAJOR CITY STREET. DEALER INFORMED DSG CLUTCH PACK REQUIRES REPLACEMENT. LOCATED TSB DATED 2/6/14 (TB-30-14-01/VW 2028783). CAR IN FOR COMPLETE SERVICING 8/7/14. INTERACTIVE INSPECTION PERFORMED. NO INDICATION OF POTENTIAL ISSUE OR NEED FOR ANY RELATED MAINTENANCE. VIEW AS A CONSUMER - NEGLIGENT CONDUCT GIVEN THE POTENTIAL RAMIFICATIONS OF DSG FAILURE. FAULT SHOULD REQUIRE MORE THAN A TSB AS LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL POSES MEANINGFUL RISK OF INJURY.
I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING A SUDDEN & COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 0-40 MPH ON NUMEROUS AND CONTINUING OCCASIONS (2010 VW EOS LUX). THE PROBLEM STARTED AT ABOUT 60,000 MILES, LASTS ABOUT 4-5 SECONDS AT A TIME, AND OCCURS RANDOMLY. PERHAPS THE MOST COMMON SPEED DURING THE OCCURRENCES IS ABOUT 25 MPH. BECAUSE THE VW DEALERSHIP CANNOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM, THEY REFUSE TO TAKE ANY ACTION. I HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS DSG TRANSMISSION DURING MY ENTIRE OWNERSHIP (ORIGINAL OWNER). I HAVE ALWAYS BELIEVED IT WAS DEFECTIVE SINCE IT HAS ALWAYS HAD AN UNREASONABLE AND SIGNIFICANT LACK OF ACCELERATION OR TURBO LAG (0-5 MPH). I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN OREGON AND NOW LIVE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. *TR
I FIRST NOTICE THIS PROBLEM WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY AT A SPEED OF 65MPH. THE ENGINE WOULD STALL OUT FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS AND THEN WORK JUST FINE. THE EPC AND SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT WOULD COME ON AND OFF DURING THESE STALL OUT PERIODS. THIS WOULD HAPPEN OFF AND ON FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL MONTHS. SOMETIMES WHEN I STARTED THE CAR THE LIGHTS WOULD COME ON AND SOMETIMES THEY WOULD NOT. FINALLY IN NOVEMBER 2013 THE LIGHTS STAYED ON ALL THE TIME. I TOOK IT TO BE SERVICED AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE EMISSION SENSOR. I HAD THE PART 06H127025N PUT ON THE CAR AND MY TROUBLES STOPPED. HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEM SINCE. IT COST ME $453.55 TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. I APPLIED FOR THE RECALL BUT THEY STATED IT WAS NOT THAT PART THAT WAS DEFECTIVE. WELL THAT PART WAS DEFECTED BECAUSE I HAD TO HAVE IT REPLACED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 VOLKSWAGEN EOS. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED A RUMBLING NOISE AND A SPEED WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT A PIECE OF METAL UNDER THE HOOD BECAME LOOSE AND WAS CAUSING THE NOISE. THE FAILURE CONTINUED AFTER THE REMOVAL OF THE METAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIANS REPLACED A PART IN THE TRANSMISSION, BUT THE CONTACT WAS NOT AWARE OF WHICH PART WAS REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,000. UPDATED 06/05/12 *BF THE DEALER STATED THE FLYWHEEL WAS DEFECTIVE.
AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE MY BATTERY LIGHT AND EPC LIGHT CAME ON AND STATED TO SERVICE ENGINE NOW. THE CAR STARTED TO BECOME JUMPY AND I IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT TO THE CLOSEST DEALER. AFTER RUNNING A DIAGNOSTIC, THEY STATED MY FUEL INJECTOR HAS A LEAK AND IS LEAKING INTO THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. I HAVE GOOGLED THIS ISSUE AND HAVE FOUND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL BUT ONLY FOR DIESEL ENGINES FOR VW WHICH MY CAR IS NOT. APPARENTLY THIS ISSUE CAN CAUSE THE CAR TO CATCH FIRE. *TR
2010 VW EOS - WITH LESS THAN 5000 MILES, CAR WOULD LURCH WHEN STARTING AFTER COMING TO A STOP. THIS IS REPEATED CONTINUALLY. SERVICE PEOPLE ADVISED MECHATRONICS UNIT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND PART WOULD TAKE AT LEAST TWO WEEKS. FROM FORUMS, IT APPEARS THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH MANY OWNERS OF VW AND SHOULD BE ACKNOWLEDGED BY THE COMPANY AND A FIX MADE TO ALL UNITS. *TR
