Open the full vehicle complaint log (all categories)My 2015 Jetta SE was making noises in the left front end. I was driving when something fell off my vehicle. I was able to stop and pick up the item that fell off. It was part of a coil spring that was from the left front side of my car. The VW dealer replaced the left front coil spring. That was 6 months ago. Recently, I heard a loud bang from under my car and a couple of days later a piece of coil spring came off of my car again, this time from the rear. I will be bringing in my car on 12/28/2022 to get this coil spring replaced.
The contact owns a 2015 Volkswagen Jetta. The contact stated that his son mentioned to him that an abnormal squeaking noise was coming from the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. Upon inspection, the contact noticed that a rubber piece was sitting underneath the rear driver’s side tire. Upon further inspection, he noticed that the wheel well was sitting on top of the rear driver’s side tire. The contact attempted to reach the dealer but instead left a voicemail. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed him that there were no recalls on the VIN. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 86,066.
Since we've owned it (bought new), every coil spring has broken. The last one is being repaired today at the VW dealership. The car has about 77k miles. I have never had any springs break on any other car, and one had 120k miles on it. This is obviously a car defect and the part has been recalled for the golf and several other vehicles. This is also a safety hazard; what could happen if one breaks while going 70mph down a busy highway? I believe the first one broke maybe 4 years ago.
The contact owns a 2015 Volkswagen Jetta. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer for maintenance service and was informed that three of the coil springs needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that 8 months later, the vehicle was taken back to dealer to be serviced for the tires and he was notified that the 4th coil spring was fractured and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 43,000.
Rear suspension springs needed to be replaced. Both were snapped in two pieces, one happened to be broken but held together (stacked top to bottom) as two separate pieces. Nothing occurred to the car to cause this. Car has approximately 90,000 miles.
I own a 2015 Volkswagen Jetta SE TSI And the rear coil spring on my drivers side snapped into 3 pieces. I was just on the highway and was coming through torrential downpour in the middle of Rhode Island. I was lucky enough to just have pulled in my drive way and put the car into park when a loud bang occured and my car dropped on the driver side a few inches. there were zero warning signs or indicator lights. The car just drooped. could have been a disaster had it happed in the downpour on my way home.
WHILE HAVING THE BRAKES REPLACED IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE RIGHT FRONT SUSPENSION SPRING IS BROKEN. THIS IS IN ADDITION TO MY FIRST REPORT OF A REAR SPRING BREAKING WHILE DRIVING.
THIS BW 62,000 MILES ON IT. WHILE DRIVING THE LEFT REAR SUSPENSION COIL BROKE OFF INTO THE ROAD. OUR SECOND VW, THE EXACT SAME CAR BOUGHT FOUR DAYS EARLIER, BLEW A FRONT SUSPENSION SPRING A MONTH EARLIER. I WILL REPORT THAT CAR SEPARATELY.
THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT SUSPENSION COIL SPRING BROKE DURING COLD WEATHER WHILE TURNING OFF THE ROAD TO A STORE PARKING LOT. DID NOT DRIVE THROUGH ANY POTHOLES OR SIMILAR THINGS THAT WOULD STRESS THE SPRING. EARLIER THIS YEAR, IN MARCH, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE SPRING ALSO BROKE IN COLD WEATHER WHILE PULLING INTO A DRIVEWAY.
THE FRONT SUSPENSION COIL RINGS HAVE FAILED TWICE IN 18 MONTH. THE BREAK CAUSING DANGER AND NON DRIVE-ABILITY
THE HORN KEEP MALFUNCTIONING IT WORKS SOMETIMES THE CAR DON'T HAVE LOSE POWER WHEN I GO UP HILLS AND SMOKE IS COMING FROM TAIL PIPE
WHEN I PRESS BRAKE ON FREEWAYS , I FELT LIKE MY CAR STOPPED BECAUSE IT WONT GIVE SMOOTH BRAKE ,I DON'T PUT HARD AND SUDDEN BRAKES , IT WILL LIKE GO FRONT AND BACK AND WILL STOP. MY VOLKS SUSPENSION ARE TOO BAD . I AM, USING 2015 VOLKS JETTA MY TRANSMISSION WILL SHOW ME ALL THE GEARS FROM FIRST TO FINAL , I CAN FEEL WHEN IT GETS PICK UP. I HAVE TOLD MY DEALER BUT THEY DON'T CARE. MY STEERING WHEEL ALWAYS GOING PULLING LEFT SIDE WHEN EVER I DRIVE .
