When traveling at approximately 40 mph, the vehicle displayed a service electronic throttle control warning. Turned on the engine light, then after 1 second the vehicle shut off while in motion with no warning. This disabled all power including brakes and power steering. After clearing engine code vehicle worked for around 20 minutes before repeating while idle in my driveway. Engine code displayed is p008a. (Low fuel pressure)
When pulling into a parking space with foot on the brake the engine revs and surges forward. This has happened 2 times over the course of 2 years with out damage or personal injury. Twice in the last month. The third incident happened on October 15, 2024 causing the vehicle to surge/accelerate hitting another vehicle then crashing into the cart corral at a supermarket. Fortunately, no one was run over. Same scenario. Pulling into a parking space applying the brake. Then acceleration.

The contact stated while operating the vehicle, the braking system malfunctioned while depressing the brake pedal and the vehicle would not immediately stop, causing an extended braking distance. On occasion, while depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle failed to stop. The parking brakes were activated to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer and the brake pads and rotors were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The approximate failure mileage was 9,000. The Vin was not available
