There is an open safety recall on my vehicle since September 2025 with no updates on when a remedy will be available from Stellantis. The issue is that fuel supply to the engine can be cut off causing the vehicle to lose power unexpectedly and go LOMP. I cannot drive the vehicle in this state because it is dangerous if the engine were to cut off unexpectedly at highway speeds, especially since I have a baby. Safety recall information: Issue date: Sep 09, 2025 Manufacturer Recall Number: 93C NHTSA Recall Number: 25V-586 Recall Status: Recall Incomplete, remedy not yet available It is unacceptable that Stellantis have still not provided a remedy or an ETA to fix the problem even after 4 months. My car is sitting idly in the garage and I'm paying hundreds of dollars every month in loan and insurance costs without being able to drive. I have called my dealership several times and they don't have an update from the manufacturer yet either. I would like to make a formal complaint against Stellantis to fix this issue with immediate urgency since it is dangerous to drive the car in its current state and I'm just losing money without being able to use it.
I had a "Service Electronic Throttle Control" light come on and my car went into limp mode. I called the dealer and they said to drive my car to the dealer to get it checked out. I confirmed with the dealer's service manager that it was safe to drive on the freeway in the limp mode. On my way there, my engine completely died - it went down to 25 mph on the freeway before it recovered a bit so that I could get off the freeway. Shortly after I got off the freeway, it died completely. The dealership told me its a known issued that these 2018/2019 Alfa Romeo's will suffer from oil pump failure, leading to sudden engine failure. Based on conversations I've seen on Facebook Alfa Romeo pages, many people have had these same issues with sudden engine failures on low mileage engines caused by oil pump failures. I thank God my car didn't completely die in the middle of the freeway - I could have easily been killed.
