THIS COULD TRAP AN OCCUPANT INSIDE OR PREVENT A RESCUER FROM GETTING A OCCUPANT OUT. THIS WAS NOTICED WHEN VEHICLE WAS STOPPED, IN PARK, ALL DOORS WERE UNLOCKED, WHEN A PASSENGER ATREMPTED TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM OUTSIDE IN ORDER TO RETRIEVE HER BELONGINGS. LATER ATTEMPTS TO OPERATE THE DOOR FAILED, INCLUDING LOCKING/UNLOCKING WITH KEY, WITH INTERIOR UNLOCK BUTTON, WITH WINDOW UP AND DOWN AND WITH CAR ON AND OFF. DOOR WILL NOT AXTIVATE AND NOTHING SOUNDS BROKEN OR DETACHED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 BMW X3. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR A SEPARATE INCIDENT WHEN THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THREE OF THE FOUR ENGINE MOUNT BOLTS WERE SHEARED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 93,000.
