HVAC TEMPERATURE DOES NOT WORK ON PASSENGER SIDE; RIGHT SIDE TEMPERATURE MODE DOOR ACTUATOR HAS FAILED. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IT HAS HAPPENED. 2013 AND NOW 2018.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AUTOMATICALLY GET STUCK AND DOES NOT PICK UP SPEED NO MATTER IF U RELEASE THE GAS OR PRESS ON THE GAS. THE GAR DOES NOT PICK UP SPEED AT ALL AND THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS.I HAVE PUT CLOSE TO $1000 IN THIS VEHICLE IN A MONTH TRYING TO CORRECT THIS SCARY PROBLEM WHILE I AM DRIVING ON THE HWY AND CITY STREETS AS WELL AS TURNIG.
TIMING CHAIN FAILURE ON 2010 ENCLAVE WITH 56,601 MILES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 BUICK ENCLAVE EQUIPPED WITH HANKOOK DYNAPRO HP2 TIRES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ONE OF THE TIRES WOULD LOSE PRESSURE OVER TIME. THE SPECIFIC TIRE THAT FAILED WAS NOT DISCLOSED. THE CONTACT HAD TO CHECK FOR LEAKS, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT HAD THE TIRES ROTATED, BUT THE FAILURE OCCURRED AGAIN SEVERAL TIMES. THE TIRE MECHANIC FINALLY DISCOVERED A CRACK IN THE TIRES. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE TIRE SHOULD BE UNDER WARRANTY AND TO CHECK THE OTHER TIRES. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT CALLED BACK TO CONFIRM IF THEY WOULD REPLACE THE TIRES. THE VIN, DOT NUMBER, AND TIRE SIZE WERE UNKNOWN. THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 107,000 AND TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
AT SLOW SPEEDS THE POWER STEERING GOES IN AND OUT INTERMITTENTLY. THE LOSS OF POWER STEERING IS ONLY FOR A SECOND OR TWO BUT THE SENSATION SEEMS TO BE DANGEROUS IF THE STEERING FUNCTION DID NOT RETURN INSTANTLY. THIS LOSS OF POWER STEERING IS IDENTICAL TO THE POWER STEERING LOSS THAT IS THE SUBJECT OF A CURRENT GMC SIERRA TRUCK RECALL.
SINCE I BOUGHT MY 2010 BUICK I'VE NOTHING BUT PROBLEM AFTER PROBLEM.. FOR SOME REASON THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ALWAYS SEEMS TO COME ON, SUSPENSION MAKES NOISE, AND STEERING SYSTEM IS MAKING NOISE..
TAKATA RECALL. MY PARK ASSIST RADIO AND ALL OTHER SOUND WHEN COMPLETLY OFF I WENT TO THE STORE EVERYTHING WAS WORKING FINE ON MY WAY THERE. WHEN I GOT BACK IN THE CAR AND TURNED IT ON NOTHING TURNED ON.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 BUICK ENCLAVE. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FRANK BOUCHER CHEVROLET (8600 WASHINGTON AVE, MT PLEASANT, WI 53406, 262-417-7004) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE VACUUM MOUNT SOLENOID FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 170,000.
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON AFTER HAVING SMOKE TESTS DONE AND THE ERROR MESSAGE IS ALWAYS TIGHTEN FUEL CAP. NEW ORIGINAL GMC PART FUEL CAPS HAVE BEEN PURCHASED AND NUMEROUS SMOKE TESTS HAVE BEEN CONDUCTED. WHEN I'M DRIVING OUT OF THE NOWHERE THE ERROR MESSAGE TIGHTEN FUEL CAP COMES ON
OFTEN WHEN TURNING THE VEHICLE POWER STEERING SEEMS TO LOOSE POWER. IT FEELS LIKE I AM DRIVING A OLD CAR WITH NO POWER STEERING. IT HAPPENS AT ANY SPEED. I SELDOM FEEL THIS FROM A STOPPED POSITION. I SELDOM FEEL IT WHEN GOING STRAIGHT. SOME TIMES I CAN FEEL IT AS I SLOW DOWN TO START A TURN. IT HAPPENS MOST IN TOWN. IT CAN HAPPEN WHEN COMING OFF THE INTERSTATE TO MAKE THE FIRST TURN AT AN INTERSECTION...BUT NOT OFTEN. I SEE NO LEAKS. THE FLUID IS AT THE PROPER LEVEL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 BUICK ENCLAVE. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (DONNELL FORD, 7955 MARKET ST, YOUNGSTOWN, OH 44512), BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,259.
IN KROGER PARKING LOT JUST NOW, PARKED IN A PARKING PLACE AND TRYING TO LOAD GROCERIES. OPENED THE LIFT GATE LIKE NORMAL, MY MOTHER WAS INSIDE IT AND IT STARTED CLOSING IMMEDIATELY ON HER. SHE REACHED UP AND PUSHED IT UP SO SHE COULD GET OUT FROM UNDER IT AND IT STARTED TO GO UP AGAIN AND THEN STARTED CLOSING AGAIN. IT KEPT DINGING AS IT OPENED AND CLOSED. SHE TRIED TO OPEN IT AFTER IT WAS CLOSED FOR A MINUTE AND IT OPENED AND THEN SLAMMED SHUT HARD BEFORE IT OPENED ALL THE WAY.
3.2L V6 ENGINE DROPPED A VALVE AND BLEW THE ENGINE. IS A KNOWN ISSUE ON THAT YEAR MODEL. WHILE DRIVING THE CAR STARTED MAKING A CLICKING NOISE AND STOPPED PULLING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WITH NO WARNING. ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. CAR FELT LIKE IT WOULD NOT PULL. ONCE GOT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, THE CAR WOULD NOT TURN OVER AGAIN. TOOK IT TO MECHANIC AND SAID IT DROPPED A VALVE. WAS ONLY ABLE TO FIND A PIECE OF THE VALVE LEFT WITHOUT GOING COMPLETELY INTO THE MOTOR. NOW SELLING THE CAR FOR SCRAP.
PURCHASED 2010 BUICK ENCLAVE NEW ON 8/17/08. HAD 48800 MILES ON IT, ON 1121/16 CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WITH CODE P0008. TOOK IT IN GARAGE & DISCOVERED TIMING CHAIN HAD EXCESSIVE WEAR PLUS REPLACED BOTH CAMSHAFTS, VALVE COVERS GASKETS, TIMING COVER GASKET, INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET & ETC. WAS FIXED FOR $3536.80. ON 5/21/18 AT 59050 ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN WITH CODE P0017 TOOK IT BACK IN FOUND TIMING CHAIN HAS EXCESSIVE WEAR AGAIN REPLACED BOTH INTAKE & EXHAUST ACTUATORS WITH CAM., INTAKE MANIFOLD SET, CATALYTIC CONVERTER, TIMING CHAIN BECAUSE IT WAS PREMATURELY WORN, & CAM ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY. SENT ALL DOCUMENTATION TO GM BUT THEY BASICALLY LAUGHED AND SAID SORRY OUT OF WARRANTY. I BELIEVE SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE TO FORCE THEM TO DO A RECALL & REIMBURSE US FOR ALL THE TIMING CHAIN REPAIRS. AT THIS RATE WE WILL BE REPLACING TIMING CHAIN EVERY 10000 MILES. THEY NEED TO RECALL THIS ENGINE AS THERE IS EVIDENCE OF MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH IT.
THE STEERING BECOMES HARD TO TURN WHEN MOVING VERY SLOWLY OR SITTING IN PARK. THIS HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY IN URBAN SETTINGS. NO PROBLEM OBSERVED AT HIGHWAY SPEED AS YET. WILL BE TAKING TO MECHANIC SHORTLY.
POWER KEEPS GOING OUR INTERMITTENTLY DURING SLOW SPEEDS...FOR EXAMPLE WITH STOPPED AND GOING TO MAKE A TURN OR U-TURN...OR WHILE IN A PARKING LOT. IT WILL GO OUT FOR A FEW SECONDS... OR LESS THEN KICK BACK IN. I HAVE SEEN MULTIPLE POSTINGS ABOUT OTHERS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH ENCLAVE AND TRAVERSE (CHEVY) IN THE SAME YEAR SETS. I WAS ON A CITY STREET WHEN THE MOST NOTICEABLE OCCURRENCE HAPPENED, MAKING A U-TURN FROM A COMPLETE STOP WHEN I COULD BARELY TURN MY STEERING WHEEL TO COMPLETE THE TURN.
STEERING WHEEL SEEMS TO LOCK WHEN WE TURN THE WHEEL, WHICH MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO TURN TO THE RIGHT OR LEFT VERY DANGEROUS WHEN MAKING TURNS WHILE DRIVING. HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES.
THIS VEHICLE WITH 89000 MILES HAS JUST BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH A STRETCHED TIMING CHAIN PROBLEM, AND WE HAVE BEEN QUOTED A PRICE OF $2800 TO EFFECT A REPAIR THAT OBVIOUSLY SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL. AT THIS MOMENT THERE HAS NOT BEEN A CATASTROFIC FAILURE WHICH WOULD NECESSITATE AN ENGINE REPLACEMENT . WE THINK THAT IT IS UNCONSCIONABLE THAT GM KNOWING OF THIS FAILURE HASN'T REACHED OUT TO THE VICTIMS AND OFFERED A SOLUTION TO THI BURDENING PROBLEM FOR FOLKS WHO CAN'T AFFORD TO REPAIR THEIR VEHICLE THAT IS NECESSARILY DEPENDED UPON. IT LOOKS TO US THAT A CLASS ACTION SUIT IS IN ORDER TO FORCE GM TO FIX THEIR MISTAKES. IT IS GALLING TO NOTE THAT LOTS OF OLDER FOLKS HAVE TRIED TO STAY LOYAL TO U.S. MANUFACTURERS HAVE BEEN MISPLACING THEIR LOYALTIES. THE SUIT AGAINST THE SATURN VUE TRANSMISSION SHOULD BE A GOOD EXAMPLE TO FOLLOW. ANYONE AGREE?
POWER STEERING RANDOMLY STOPS WORKING, USUALLY ON LOWER RPMS BUT SOMETIMES JUST RANDOMLY STOPS WORKING NO MATTER WHAT RPMS. POWER STEERING FLUID IS FULL.
VEHICLE HESITATION WHILE ACCELERATING. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. CODE WAS P0008 REQUIRING NEW TIMING CHANIS TO BE INSTALLED FOR $3,200. VEHICLE ONLY HAS 80K MILES ON IT
STRETCHED TIMING CHAINS AT 82,000 MILES. KNOWN PROBLEM AT BUICK AND THEY ARE DOING NOTHING ABOUT IT. $3,300 TO REPAIR.
TAKATA RECALL IT APPEARS THIS IS A POWER STEERING ISSUE WITH MY 2010 BUICK ENCLAVE. I HAD IT LOOKED AT AND NOW IT IS STILL MAKING A LOUD NOISE WHEN DRIVING, WHEN MAKING A TURN AND IT MAKE A ROUGH SOUND NOW MY STABILITY TRACKING LIGHT IS POPPING ON SAYING TO CHECK THE STABILITY. I WAS TOLD THE RACK AND PINION AND POWER STEERING PUMP WERE REPLACED BUT IT IS STILL CAUSING ISSUES. LOUD NOISES OCCUR WHEN DRIVING AND WHEN TURNING IT MAKES A LOUD NOISE AND MY TRACKING LIGHT POPS ON AND OFF.
THIS ENGINE HAS A TIMING CHAIN ISSUE THAT FORCED A 2009 N 2008 RECALL. THE 2010 IS THE SAME ENGINE WITH THE SAME ISSUE. IN FACT THE 3.6L V6 ENGINE ON ALL MODELS SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO. THE REPAIR COST IS OVER $2000
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 BUICK ENCLAVE. WHEN THE CONTACT STARTED THE VEHICLE, IT STALLED AND WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIMING CHAIN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND COULD POTENTIALLY DAMAGE THE ENGINE. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 136,636.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 BUICK ENCLAVE. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF ENGINE POWER. ALSO, THE CHECK ENGINE, TRACTION CONTROL, AND ABS WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS OPERABLE AFTER BEING MANUALLY RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BIG LAKE AUTOMOTIVE (19868 172ND ST NW, BIG LAKE, MN), BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 189,000.
ON 6/7/2017 PURCHASED A 2010 BUICK ENCLAVE CXL 116495 MILES ON IT NEEDS STEERING GEAR 1700.00 IS THE POWER STEERING PUMP WEAR THE CAUSE OF THE GEAR LEAKING
ON JANUARY 9, 2018, WHILE WAITING AT A STOP LIGHT ON THE CITY STREET, AS I PROCEEDED THROUGH THE TRAFFIC LIGHT MY VEHICLE CUT OFF. I HAD TO HAVE MY VEHICLE TOWED HOME WHICH WAS THE CLOSEST DESTINATION. MY 2010 BUICK ENCLAVE HAS BEEN LOOKED AT JIM MURPHY BUICK AND WEST HERR CHEVY AND BOTH DEALERSHIPS CONCLUDED THE SAME PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE IS THE TIMING CHAIN. MY VEHICLE IS NO LONGER WORKING, I NEED TO REPLACE THE ENGINE DUE TO THE MALFUNCTION OF THE TIMING CHAIN. WHEN SEEKING A RECONDITIONED ENGINE, THE RESPONSE I'VE GOTTEN FROM AUTO PART/ENGINE DEALERS IS THAT THERE HAVE BEEN REPEATED PROBLEMS WITH THE TIMING CHAIN ON THOSE ENGINES FOR 2010 BUICK ENCLAVE MODELS AND THAT THE TIMING CHAIN WAS NOT BUILT TO LAST LONG. BUT, THE RECONDITIONED ENGINES TIMING CHAIN IS NOW UPGRADED TO THE NEW GM SPECS.
THE VEHICLE WILL RANDOMLY LOOSE POWER OR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING IT, NO MATTER WHAT SPEED OR WHAT CONDITION. A WARNING ON THE DASH SAYS THAT POWER WAS REDUCED, ALMOST LIKE A SAFETY OR GOVERNOR. IT RANDOMLY DOES IT, THE LOCKS WILL CLICK BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN UNLOCK AND LOCK AND IT WILL SOMETIMES COMPLETELY DIE OR JUST BE IN LIMP MODE SO YOU HAVE NO CONTROL. THIS HAS HAPPENED WHILE GOING 75 DOWN THE INTERSTATE WITH HEAVY TRAFFIC, ALMOST CAUSING A WRECK A FEW TIMES. IT WILL ALSO HAPPEN AT LOWER SPEEDS OR AROUND TURNS ETC.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 BUICK ENCLAVE. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED OF A FAULT CODE FOR THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (P0008). THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE TIMING BELT WAS ALSO A FACTOR IN THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO RICK HENDRICK BUICK GMC (3244 COMMERCE AVE NW, DULUTH, GA 30096, (770) 954-8718); HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC AND SERVICE DEPARTMENT WERE VERY EVASIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME UP ON MY 2010 BUICK ENCLAVE CXL APPROXIMATELY 3 MONTHS AGO (SEPTEMBER 2017), HOWEVER, WHEN I WENT TO GET THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DIAGNOSED IT TURNED OFF. THIS CAME BACK ON IN OCTOBER 2017, BUT BECAUSE IT HAPPENED LATE AT NIGHT I DECIDED TO GO TO A LOCAL AUTOZONE AND THEY RAN A DIAGNOSTIC AND INFORMED ME THAT IT INDICATED THAT IT WAS THE TIMING CHAIN AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. WHEN I TOOK THIS TO THE LOCAL DEALER, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS NO LONGER ON, AND THEY INDICATED THEY COULD NOT ACCEPT THE DIAGNOSTIC FROM THE LOCAL AUTOZONE. THE CHECK ENGINE HAS AGAIN TURNED ON (DECEMBER 2017) AND INDICATES THAT THERE IS A BAD TIMING CHAIN THAT NEED TO BE REPLACED. EARLIER ENCLAVE MODELS HAD THIS ISSUE, AND THE MANUFACTURER EXTENDED THE WARRANTY TO REPLACE THE TIMING CHAIN TO 10 YEARS OR 120,000. IN ALL THREE CASES, THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE CAME UP.
HELLO, WE HAVE JUST PURCHASED A USED 2010 ENCLAVE BUICK ABOUT THREE MONTHS AGO AND HAVE JUST HIT THE 80,000 MILE MARK AND MY ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON AND THE DIAGNOSIS FOR THIS VEHICLE IS P0008. ON LINE THEY SHOW THE PREVIOUS MODELS TO MINE WHERE ALL RECALLED FOR THIS CODE ISSUE. MY CONCERN IS WAS THIS ISSUE FIXED FOR THESE NEWER MODELS OR IS THIS SOMETHING THAT WILL BE RECALLED IN THE FUTURE JUST LIKE THE OLDER MODELS DID. THERE ARE OTHERS CONCERNED WITH THIS SAME ISSUE SO I'M AWARE THAT WE ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES. WHAT WAS HAPPENING WAS THE CAR WOULD JUST START DOWNSHIFTING BY ITSELF, SPEED WAS DRASTICALLY REDUCED. IT DIDN'T MATTER HOW FAST OR SLOW I WAS GOING BUT IT DID HAPPEN ON THE EXPRESSWAY AND I WENT FROM 65MPH TO 40 MPH IN A MATTER OF SECONDS. HAD BEEN HAPPENING FOR A YEAR AND HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER 5 TIMES, THIS LAST TIME THEY HAD IT FOR 7 WEEKS AND REQUIRED GM TECH CENTER SUPPORT TO FINALLY GET IT FIXED. THIS WAS NOT ONLY A SAFETY ISSUE BUT ALSO A FIRE HAZARD. FOLLOWING IS THE FIX: NEC TO CHECK OTHER DATA CIRCUITS THAT MIGHT BACK FEED INTO HIGH SPEED CIRCUIT. FOUND CIRCUIT #6060 BACK FEEDING IN TO CIRCUIT 2500 CAUSING ITERMITTENT COMMUNICATION LOSS. FOUND CIRCUIT OVERLOAD AT CONTACT POINT G110. WAS SERVING AS A CONTACT POINT FOR NINE CIRCUITS AND OVERHEATING, CAUSING HIGH RESISTANCE AND LOSS OF DATA COMMUNICATION AT TIMES. NECESSARY TO SEPARATE INTO 2 CONTACT POINTS TO REDUCE LOAD AND PREVENT OVERHEATING AND HIGH RESISTANCE THAT WAS CAUSING DATA CIRCUIT BACKFEEDING AND DATA LOSS. THEY SHOWED ME THE CIRCUIT WITH THE 9 WIRES THAT THEY REMOVED AND IT WAS ALL MELTED AND BURNT. NOT ONLY DID THE DRASTIC AND SUDDEN REDUCTION OF POWER CREATE A VERY UNSAFE SITUATION THE OVERHEATING OF THE CIRCUIT, BURNING AND MELTING OF WIRES CREATED A HUGE FIRE POTENTIAL.
THE TIMING CHAINS AND GUIDES USED ON THIS MODEL, AS WELL AS SOME EARLIER MODELS ARE DRASTICALLY UNDERCAPABLE, AND SUBJECT TO STRETCHING AT PREMATURE TIMES. THIS CAN CAUSE A CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE. WHILE SOME EARLIER MODELS HAVE BEEN SUBJECT TO RECALL, GM HAS NOT STEPPED UP TO THE PLATE AND FIXED THE ISSUE BY REDESIGN. THE ISSUE PERSISTS, AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. AT PRESENT, MY VEHICLE IS SHOWING THE P0008 CODE, REPEATEDLY, WHICH INDICATES THIS ISSUE. WHILE I HAVE BEEN LUCKY TO THIS POINT, IN THAT I HAVE NOT HAD A CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE, I BELIEVE THAT THE PROBLEM IS IMMINENT. THIS IS A WELL DOCUMENTED ISSUE AMONGST THE OWNER COMMUNITY, AND GM HAS IGNORED ADDRESSING IT.
2010 MODEL WITH APPROX. 52K MILES. VEHICLE HESITATES WHEN ACCELERATING AND ENGINE LIGHT RECENTLY CAME ON. HAD IT CHECKED AND IT IS A STRETCHED OUT TIMING CHAIN. VEHICLE MANUFACTURED IN 08/09 PER MFT. STICKER ON DOOR. REPAIRS ARE VERY EXPENSIVE. THERE IS A 10YR/120K MILE EXTENDED POWER TRAIN WARRANTY ON THE 2009 MODEL, BUT DOES NOT APPEAR TO APPLY TO 2010 MODEL. HESITATION ISSUE CAUSING SAFETY ISSUES.
STEERING: SEEMS VAGUE WHEN IN MOTION AT HIGHWAY SPEED. OTHER: REAR TAILGATE OPENS WHILE DRIVING, SITTING STILL W/O THE KEY IN THE IGNITION. CONTACTED GM AND CUSTOMER SERVICE TOLD ME IT WAS MY PROBLEM NOT THEIRS. ENGINE: SOUNDS LIKE A MEATGRINDER ON COLD START UP, IF THE ENGINE FAILS WILL LOOSE STEERING, BRAKES AND POSSIBLY CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.

AS I AM DRIVING THE CARS AUTO LOCKS WILL SUDDENLY UNLOCK AND LOCK THEN THE CAR GOES INTO NEUTRAL, RPM'S GO UP, CAR SLOWS DOWN AND THE ENGINE REVS, IT LASTS FOR 30 SEC OR SO THEN GOES BACK INTO DRIVE. HAS DONE IT AT 25 MPH ALL THE WAY UP TO 70 MPH, HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY NO RHYME OR REASON TO IT. VERY SCARY AND DANGEROUS, HAS HAPPENED 10-12 TIMES IN THE LAST YEAR, HAPPENED TWICE TODAY WHILE ON THE EXPRESSWAY, VERY SCARY. THE OTHER THING IT DOES IS IT WILL JERK, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, THINGS FLASH ON THE DASH, SERVICE STABILITRAC, PARK ASSIST OFF, TRACTION CONTROL OFF IT THEN WON'T SHIFT GEARS AND I HAVE TO STOP AND SHUT THE CAR OFF, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON FOR A DAY OR TWO. THESE ARE 2 SEPARATE ISSUES. HAVE HAD TO DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES, THEY SAY DON'T KNOW WHATS WRONG. I HAVE OWNED MY BUICK ENCLAVE LESS THAN 2 YEARS & I AM ALREADY HAVING TO PUT ANOTHER TIMING CHAIN IN IT! I TALKED TO GM THE FIRST TIME BUT THEY WOULDN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT BUT TOLD ME THIS IS THE SAME ISSUE THE 09S WERE HAVING. IF THE NEXT YEAR UP IS HAVING RHE THE SAME ISSUES WHY WOULDN'T THEY RECALL THIS AS WELL ITS VERY EXPENSIVE TO HAVE FIXED EVERY 10 MONTHS!!!!! THE FIRST TIME I WAS DRIVING OFF THE EXIT RAMP OF THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE VECHILE RANDOMLY QUIT WITH MY 3 KIDS IN THE CAR IT WAS THE MIDDLE OF WINTER IN MICHIGAN & THE TOW TRUCK DIDN'T GET THERE TILL ALMOST 2AM COULDN'T GET THE HEAT ON OR ANYTHING! THIS SECOND TINE I HEARD A RATTLING IN THE ENGINE SO I TOOK IT IN & ITS THE SAME ISSUE & ALTHOUGH I HAVE A 12 MONTH WARRANTY ON THE PARTS & ITS ONLY BEEN 10 MONTHS BUICK IS REFUSING TO REPLACE THE PARTS SO AGAIN ITS COMING OUT OF MY POCKET!
MY 2010 BUICK ENCLAVE WITH LESS THAN 85000 MILES HAD A CATATSTROPHIC ENGLINE FAILURE ON HIGHWAY 895 IN BALTIMORE, MD ON 8/22/2017. WE WERE TRAVELING ABOUT 60 MILES PER HOUR WHEN THIS HAPPENED. THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE FOLLOWED BY BILLOWS OF WHITE SMOKE AND THE CAR STOPPED. WE HAD A TOW TRUCK PICK IT UP AND THE SERVICE ATTENDANT AT THE REPAIR PLACE SAID THERE IS A FIST SIZE HOLE IN THE ENGINE BLOCK. THIS CAR HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED AND SO IT IS BAD THAT THE ENGINE FAILED. SINCE I LIVE AN HOUR AND HALF AWAY WE HAVEN'T HAD A CHANCE TO TAKE ANY PHOTOS.
ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND TOOK INTO DEALERSHIP FOR A DIAGNOSIS OF ISSUE. WAS TOLD THAT THE TIMING CHAIN HAD STRETCHED AND NEEDED REPLACED WITH A COST ESTIMATE OF $3000. THIS IS THE 2ND TIME THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED, THE FIRST BEING AT 48K MILES, AND NOW AT 95K MILES. WHEN THE REPAIR WAS BEING MADE, WAS TOLD THAT THE CRANK SHAFT WAS WARPED AND HAD FRAYED THE ENGINE INTERNALLY - CAUSED BY THE BAD TIMING CHAIN AND I NOW NEEDED A NEW ENGINE. CONTACTED BUICK, BUT THEY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. BUICK HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS ISSUE FOR YEARS, AND YET REFUSES TO BACK THEIR PRODUCT OR HELP THEIR CUSTOMERS. ONCE THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED, I NOW HAVE A LOUD POWER STEERING 'WHINE' AND WAS TOLD THAT THE POWER STEERING PUMP NEEDS REPLACED - ANOTHER KNOWN ISSUE BY BUICK. JUST INCREDIBLE.
LOTS OF INFORMATION THAT BUICK SHOULD SEND OUT A RECALL REGARDING THE STEERING RACK LEAKS THIS CAR GETS. MECHANIC CLAIMED I HAD STEERING LEAKS, I HARDLY DRIVE THIS CAR.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE SERVICED BY A DEALER. THE CONTACT HAD CALLED WOODY BUICK DEALER, LOCATED ON 1585-1591 OGDEN AVE, NAPERVILLE IL 60540, AND WAS TOLD THAT THE FAILURE WAS DANGEROUS AND IT WAS AN EMERGENCY TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIMING CHAIN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE REPAIR FEES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND HAD INFORMED THE CONTACT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
VEHICLE STAYS RUNNING AFTER IGNITION KEY IS TURNED OFF AND REMOVED. BRAKE PEDAL MAKES A SQUEAKING SOUND WHEN DEPRESSED.

ALSO, THE SERVICE ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO REEDMAN TOLL AUTO WORLD (1700 E LINCOLN HWY LANGHORNE, PA 19047, (877) 702-7807) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VALVES WERE DAMAGED AND THE TIMING CHAIN WAS STRETCHED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DISCOUNTED A SMALL PORTION OF THE REPAIR COST, BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,900.

DRIVING ONTO THE INTERSTATE I LOST SPEED, THE RPM CAME UP TO 3500 BUT NO SPEED. CARS WERE HONKING GIVING ME THE MIDDLE FINGER. I MOVED TO THE SIDE AND GOT A FLAT TIRE. A STATE PATROL CAME ALONG AND WAS GOING TO TICKET ME. I TOLD HIM WHAT HAPPENED AND HE TOLD ME HE SEES THIS EVERY OTHER MONTH WITH THIS MODEL AND THE CHEVY TRAVERSE. WE WERE ALMOST RAN OVER BY A LARGE TRUCK. IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO MY FAMILY I'M COMING AFTER YOUR A---. GM HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS TRANSMISSION PROBLEM SENCE 2008. THE INTERNET HAS HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS, I WILL MAKE SURE YOU PAY AND I MEAN BIG. WHY DON'T GM RECALL THIS CARP AND FIX THEM. WE GAVE THEM BILLIONS AND THEY NEVER PAID IT ALL BACK. LET'S GET TOGETHER AND WAKE THESE WASTED HUMANS UP.
I HAVE A 2010 BUICK ENCLAVE WITH 142,000 MILES. I PURCHASED IT USED AT ABOUT 70,000 MILES. OVERALL, HAVE BEEN HAPPY WITH THE CAR BUT A FEW MONTHS AGO I RAN INTO A SCARY SITUATION THAT I DID NOT ANTICIPATE. I NEARLY DROVE INTO THE SIDE OF ANOTHER CAR WHEN MAKING A LEFT TURN FROM A STOPLIGHT WITH TWO LANES TURNING LEFT (I WAS IN THE LEFT-MOST LANE AND THERE WAS ANOTHER CAR ON MY IMMEDIATE RIGHT). MY POWER STEERING QUIT ON THE TURN. THAT NIGHT WHEN I GOT HOME I CHECKED THE FLUID AND IT WAS RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF BAND AND SHOWED NO SIGNS OF VISIBILE DEGRADATION. I ALSO SEARCHED ONLINE ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND FOUND IT IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH 2010 BUICK ENCLAVES. AND FROM WHAT I HAVE READ IT IS NOT CLEAR TO THE DEALERSHIPS IF THIS PROBLEM IS A RACK&PINION ISSUE OR PUMP OR WHAT. SOME HAVE BEEN DENYING THERE IS A GENERIC PROBLEM AT ALL. OTHERS HAVE CONFESSED THERE IS A GENERIC DESIGN FLAW IN THE SYSTEM. I DON'T KNOW IF ANYONE HAS BEEN KILLED DUE TO THIS GENERIC PROBLEM BUT I AM CERTAIN THERE MUST HAVE BEEN SOME ACCIDENTS! I WARNED MY WIFE ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND HAVE ASKED HER TO NOT EVEN DRIVE THE CAR UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. GM NEEDS TO RECALL AND FIX THIS PROBLEM. MY TRIAL AND ERROR TESTING SHOWS THE PROBLEM OCCURS WHETHER TURNING RIGHT OR LEFT. IT DOES NOT HAPPEN EVERY TIME AT LOW SPEED TURNS - I WOULD GUESS 50-60% OF THE TIME. NO ISSUES WHEN TRACKING STRAIGHT AHEAD. AGAIN - A REAL SAFETY HAZARD PARTICULARLY IF TURNING IN FRONT OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND IT WERE TO QUIT AND IT DELAYS YOUR TURN TIME.SAME IF TURNING TO MERGE INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC- LOSS OF STEERING COULD DELAY YOUR ABILITY TO MERGE AND RESULT IN A REAR END COLLISION. I AM 61 YO AND HAVE OWNED A NUMBER OF CARS OVER THE YEARS AND HAVE NEVER LOST POWER STEERING BEFORE. UNLESS THIS IS REMEDIED PROPERLY BY GM I AM NOT SURE I WOULD BUY ANOTHER BUICK OR GM PRODUCT.
