DIY BRAKE CHANGE AND NOTICED BOTH FRONT BRAKE LINES HAD BULGING AREAS IN THE RUBBER HOSES RUNNING TO THE CALIPER. PUSHED ON ONE OF THE BULGES AND FLUID STARTED SEEPING UNDER PRESSURE. POSSIBLY RUPTURE COULD HAPPEN AND HAVE A LOSS OF PRIMARY BRAKING. *TR

ADDITIONALLY, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL REQUIRED EXCESSIVE FORCE IN ORDER TO RESPOND. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. WHEN I APPLIED BRAKES MY TRACTION LIGHT CAME ON AND I DIDN'T HAVE ANY POWER TO MY BRAKES. I DOUBLE PUMPED AND THEY WORKED AGAIN, ALMOST RAN INTO A SUBWAY!!! THIS IS VERY SCARY AND I BROUGHT VEHICLE IN AND THEY COULD DIAGNOSIS A PROBLEM BECAUSE IT WAS INTERMITTENT. I HAVE GOOGLED THIS AND THIS IS A SEVERE PROBLEM WHEN YOUR BRAKES DON'T WORK AND HOW DO YOU FIX THEM WHEN THE SHOP CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT!!! IT SAYS IT IS A SENSORY ISSUE, AND FEELS LIKE THE ABS ARE WORKING WHEN YOU ARE ON ICE, BUT THIS IS HAPPENING ON DRY PAVEMENT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE ABS SYSTEM AND THE TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM ENGAGED WITHOUT WARNING. ALSO, THE FUEL GAUGE WAS PROVIDING ERRONEOUS READINGS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A REPAIR LOCAL SHOP, WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 103,000. UPDATED 09/05/12*LJ
ENGINE WOULD NOT IDLE BELOW 3000 RPM, AND ONCE ALMOST 4500 RPM CAUSING EXCESSIVE BRAKE PEDAL PRESSURE, HAD TO ACTUALLY PUT AUTO IN NEUTRAL AT STOPLIGHTS. THIS CONDITION WOULD OCCUR AT RANDOM TIMES, SOMETIMES IT WOULD SEEM TO OCCUR 5 OR 6 TIMES IN A ROW, AND THEN SOMETIMES IT WOULD ACT NORMAL WHEN ENGINE WAS STARTED AGAIN. UNLIKE THE IDIOTS IN THE TOYOTA'S I DID PUT IT IN NEUTRAL, HOWEVER THERE ARE APPARENTLY A LOT OF DRIVERS THAT THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN A SEVERE PROBLEM FOR. THIS CONDITION STARTED MAY 24, ( I REMEMBER BECAUSE IT OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING TO MY BIRTHDAY DINNER) 2010 ONLY OCCURRING ONCE IN A WHILE, UNTIL ENGINE WAS STOPPED AND RESTARTED, THEN BY SEPT IT WAS EVERY WEEK. I HAD IT CHECKED AT THE DEALER ON 10/5/10 AND THEY ORDERED A THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR AND INSTALLED IT ON 10/11/10. THIS SHOULD DEFINITELY BEEN A SAFETY RECALL, AND FUNNY THIS KIND OF PROBLEM WAS NEVER MENTIONED AS A POSSIBILITY DURING THE BIG TOYOTA SCANDAL. THE AUTOMOBILE IS A 2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS CXL WITH A 3400 CC ENGINE. WITH 57,000 MILES ON IT AT THIS TIME. *TR

BRAKES FAILED ON 2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS
MY 2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 8 TIMES IN 10 1/2 MONTHS. CURRENTLY I AM EXPERIENCING A LOUD NOISE (MUCH LIKE AN AIR RAID HORN) WHILE I AM STOPPED IN TRAFFIC AND WHEN I TURN MY VEHICLE OFF. IT STARTED BACK IN APRIL, THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT RECREATE THE NOISE, IN THE SHOP AGAIN 11/4/05 AND AGAIN 11/11/05. I JUST DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THE CAR. I IT IS GETTING PROGRESSIVELY WORSE, LOUDER AND MORE FREQUENT, LASTING LONGER. I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE 17 DEC 04 AND THE VERY NEXT DAY HAD A BREAK PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE STALLED WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. THE VEHICLE WOULD SOMETIMES CUT COMPLETELY OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR SERVICE, BUT THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK WHILE THE DEALER WAS TRYING TO FIND THE PROBLEM WITH THE STALLING, THEY FOUND THAT THE BRAKE MODULE LOST COMMUNICATION WITH THE COMPUTER. THE STALLING PROBLEM CONTINUED TO OCCUR. OTHER PROBLEMS WERE: THE BATTERY LIGHT HAD COME ON FOLLOWED BY ENGINE STALLING, THE EBCM WAS INTERMITTENTLY DROPPING OUT THEREFORE THE IGNITION RELAY WAS REPLACED AND THE LIFTGATE DID NOT OPEN PROPERLY. *SC *JB
