VEHICLE LOST COOLANT SECONDARY TO "BLOWN" LOWER INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET. GASKET REPLACED, BY CERTIFIED GM DEALER SERVICE CENTER, ENGINE CONTINUES TO EXHIBIT OVERHEATING. MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO 'PURGE' COOLING SYSTEM TO NO AVAIL. *TR VEHICLE IN DAY 8 OF "HOSPITAL STAY" AT THIS TIME.
SHORTLY AFTER I BOUGHT MY USED BUICK RENDEZVOUS, IT STARTED STALLING. IT WAS A MONTHLY OCCURRENCE UNTIL RECENTLY WHEN IT IS HAPPENING WEEKLY. ALTHOUGH THIS CAR WAS WITHIN THE VIN BREAKPOINTS OF A SAFETY RECALL IN 2005, BUICK TOLD ME THAT MY PARTICULAR VIN IN ITS ENTIRETY WASN'T AFFECTED AND EVEN IF IT WAS THAT THEY WOULDN'T COVER REPAIRS BECAUSE IT WAS TOO OLD. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH THE CONTACT BEGAN TO SMELL A BURNING ODOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS TOLD THAT THE COOLANT BEGAN TO MIX WITH THE OIL AND DESTROYED THE HEAD GASKET. THE ENGINE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 90,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TWO HEAD GASKETS BLEW ON MY CAR AND I WANT TO KNOW IF THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM WITH BUICK RENDEZVOUS 2004 MODEL OR OTHERS. THIS CAR HAS ONLY 67,000 MILES. I SEE A LIST OF RECALLS ON THIS MODEL AND WANT TO KNOW IF ONE OF THOSE COULD CAUSE HEAD GASKET PROBLEMS. *TR
TL*- THE CONTACT SAID THAT THE CAR SHUTS OFF WILE DRIVING AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS. THE CONTACT SAID THAT SHE AS HAD TAKEN THE CAR TO THE REPAIR SHOP, BUT THEY COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM. IT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AND THE DEALER HAS NOT GIVE THE CONTACT A REPAIR ORDER FOR A POSSIBLE PROBLEM. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SPEED AT LAST FAILURE WAS 25 MPH.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE LOSES BRAKING AND STEERING POWER WHILE DRIVING. THE FAILURES CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO STALL. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO FIND THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER AUTO REPAIR SHOP AND THEY CALLED AN EXPERT, WHO STATED THAT THERE WAS A DESIGN FLAW WITH THE ENGINE AND THE FUEL LINE WAS TOO CLOSE TO THE AIR INTAKE SYSTEM/VALVE. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE VIN, ENGINE SIZE, NUMBER OF CYLINDERS, FAILURE SPEED, AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 21,000.
SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT CAME ON AND THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN FOUND THE MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR WAS NOT PROPERLY CONNECTED AFTER THE FUEL SYSTEM WAS SERVICED. THE TECHNICIAN SUBSEQUENTLY FOUND THE FUEL TANK HARNESS WAS CORRODED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE SERVICE MANAGER ADVISED THAT THIS CONNECTOR WAS EXPOSED TO THE WEATHER ELEMENTS AND IF THE CONNECTOR FAILED THE ENGINE WOULD SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD IN MY OPINION. THE CONNECTOR WAS REPLACED AT A COST OF $199.50. *JB
GAS MILEAGE- STICKER LISTING IS 18/28 FOR 2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS. HAS 7800 MILES. VEHICLE HAS NEVER EXCEEDED 18 MPH EVEN AT HIGHWAY DRIVING. DEALER HAS CHECKED SEVERAL TIMES, HAS DONE A ROAD TEST AND CAME UP WITH 17.4 MIXED HIGHWAY DRIVING. THEY STATE THAT IS WHAT TO EXPECT.*AK
DT: THE STARTER AND HORN DID NOT ALWAYS WORK. THERMOSTAT AND FUEL GAUGE WAS NOT ACCURATE. THERE HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN A PROBLEM WITH THE IGNITION SWITCH AND IT WAS REPAIRED DUE TO A RECALL. THE PROBLEM WITH THE STARTER STARTED IN MARCH OF 2005. THESE PROBLEMS HAVE NOT BEEN REPAIRED AS OF YET. WHEN THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY TOLD HER IT WAS DESIGNED THAT WAY. *JB
2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS HAS HAD ENGINE FAILURE 3 - 5 TIMES. AT LOW SPEEDS 0-15 MPH, CAR WILL WILL CUT OFF. THE CAR RESTARTS IMMEDIATELY ONCE YOU PUT IT BACK TO PARK OR NEUTRAL. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER ON ONE OCCASION BUT THEY WRE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE PROBLEM. I WILL TAKE IT TO THE DEALER AGAIN AND PROVIDE THE SIMILAR COMPLAINTS BY OTHER CONSUMERS. *AK

I BROUGHT A BUICK RENDEVOUZ ON JULY 17,2004. FROM THE VERY FIRST WEEK I HAD IT I TOLD THE DEALER THE GAS GAGE DOESNOT WORK PROPERLY. THEY CHECKED IT OVER AND STILL CANNOT FIND AHYTHING WRONG WITH IT. AND IT STILL NOT WORKING PROPERPLY NOW BUT THEAT IS NOT THE BIGGEST ISSU WITH THIS VEHICLE. THE FIRST INCIDENT 10.10.04. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY TO WORK WHEN THE VEHILCE JUST STALLS OUT. I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON. THE CAR GET ROLLING FOR A COUPLE OF SCEONDS AND THEN I APPLIED THE BRAKE PUT THE CAR IN PARK. A COUPLE OF SECONDS LATER I STARTED THE TRUCK UP AND BEGIN DRIVING. I DROPPED THE TRUCK OFF TO THE DEALER AND TOLD THEM WHAT HAD OCCURRED. THEY REPLACED A APART AND SENT ME ON MY WAY. SINCE THEN THE VIDHILCE HASE STALLED OUT OVER 10 TIMES. AND SOMEDAY IT STALLS OUT TWICE A DAY. I HAVE BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY KEEP CHANGEING AND REPLACING PARTS BUT ITS NOT FIXING THE STALLING OUT. I AM SCARED THAT ME AND MY DAUGHTER WILL KILLED FROM IT STALLING OUT. THEY JUST CHANGED SOMETHING WITHT THE TRANSMISSON AND NOW IT BACK IN THE SHOP WITH THE SAME PROBLEM.
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC, THE VEHICLE OVERHEATS. THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM. THE CONTACT CONTINUES DRIVING THE VEHICLE WITHOUT THE OVERHEATING CAUSING DAMAGE. THE DEALERSHIP IS UNABLE TO DETERMINE A PROBLEM AND THERE ARE NO CODES ON THE COMPUTER. THE CRUISE CONTROL DID NOT WORK AND THE GAS CAP WAS FAULTY WHICH CAUSED THE ENGINE LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE. SERVICE ENGIN LIGHT CAM EON AND STAYED ON. SERVICE DEPARTMENT ADVISED THREE SEPARATE EMISSION SYSTEM PROBLEMS. JUNE 2, 2004 EVAP ALARM ON FUEL CAP, JUNE 12, 2004 LARGE LEAK DETECTED FOUND LEAKING SOLONOID, JUNE 22, 2004 LARGE LEAK DETECTED HAD VEHICLE FOR 2 DAYS AND RETURNED STATING EVERYTHING WAS OKAY. *AK
2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS HAS HAD ENGINE FAILURE THREE TIMES.*MR THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING. THE FIRST TIME THE DEALER REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP AT 10000 MILES. THE SECOND TIME THE DEALER REPLACED THE CRANK POSITION SENSOR AT 11000. THE VEHICLE STALLED A THIRD TIME AT 12000 MILES AND WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER HAS NOT DETERMINED THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONSUMER BELIEVES SHE SHOULD BE GIVE A NEW VEHICLE SINCE THE PROBLEM CANNOT SEEM TO BE PERMANENTLY RESOLVED. *NM
