There are 3 owner-reported fuel system complaints for the 2022 Chevrolet Blazerin NHTSA's database. These are unverified consumer reports and may not reflect confirmed defects.
Driving the vehicle when all of a sudden the engine shut off. All electrical systems continued to function. Luckily this occurred at low speed in a parking lot but had it happened at high speed on the freeway it could have been a huge safety risk. The vehicle was towed to a nearby automotive shop that diagnosed it as a bad fuel pump controller. There is an open GM recall that includes the 2021 Chevy Blazer (and a suite of other GM vehicles), but not the 2022 Chevy Blazer. I am concerned that the GM recall does not fully cover all of the vehicles that could be impacted by this issue. Date: September 11, 2025 Subject: N252516900 - Emission Recall Fuel Pump Power Control Module [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
To whom it may concern; my son's fiancé was driving on the highway and the vehicle had a sudden loss of power. Afterward, it turned off and would not re-start. After towing the vehicle to a repair facility (out of warranty by mileage, 45K) were advised they retrieved DTC P023F and advised the fuel pump control module failed. I did some checking and found that GM is aware of the issue and has released T.S.B. #PIP5964C, which states "CRANK NO START, STALLING, LOSS OF POWER, FUEL GAUGE INOPERATIVE/ERRATIC, MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP (MIL) ILLUMINATED P023F P129F". Fortunately nothing happened, she is young and smart and was able to handle the situation without incident. However, I shutter to think if my father in-law would have been driving, and/or any individual who would have panicked.
Two different events, first on the highway press the accelerator to pass, and the accelerator stuck tried to tap the brake did not change, had to repress the accelerator for it to return to normal. Second event pulling the car out of garage, to park in the driveway, when stopped to shift into park, the accelerator was stuck and the motor starting revving up, this time, I just turned the engine off. Also there is nothing to interfere with the accelerator, such as floor mat carpet nothing. My daughter has 2021 Blazer she said the same issues. I know this is just hear say, but on the local news, a lady's car ran out of control and ended up on the railroad tracks, she just made it out before the train hit her car, police report stated she was having problems with the accelerator, another GM product in the same year as our car.
Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA. A high complaint count may reflect vehicle popularity, not defect severity. Data sourced from NHTSA public records.
