Purchased 3 weeks ago. Third time filling up and first time in the garage. Noticed the fuel tank is leaking at the pump due to defective plastic. Car only has 55k miles, this should not be an issue. Is Chevy going to fix this or am I out the 2k repair bill?
The contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Corvette. The contact stated there was a strong gasoline odor inside the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that gasoline was leaking from the fuel tank onto the exhaust pipe. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer and the manufacturer were not contacted. The failure mileage was 55,000. VIN was not available.
The fuel tank is leaking at the pump due to defective plastic. There should be a lot of reports of this happening on this vehicle and it is more dangerous than any other defect I have ever heard of.
Have a strong odor of gasoline coming from vehicle parked in garage. Have not noticed any gasoline in the garage floor, only the strong odor.
After filling up my gas tank in my 2010 Chevrolet Corvette I notice a strong gas smell that permeates through my entire garage and house. Upon investigation from an auto repair shop it has been determined I need to replace a faulty cracked fuel pump. Upon further investigation it seems there was a "Special Coverage Adjustment" from GM for this repair only for up to 120k miles. This should be a recall!!! as it is a very dangerous situation! So because I am over 120k , (just purchased from dealer) I am responsible for the 3k repair? That is 100% not acceptable. 15682 Primary Tank Module Flange Fuel and Vapor Leaks Copyright 2016 General Motors. Reference Number: N150682 Release Date: January 2017 GWM Number: 2015682
Upon filling the car to a full tank that is a strong gas smell that permeates the cab. This smell is persistent even while driving with the convertible top down. People driving behind me were are able to smell the gasoline vapors. The vapors and smell subside once I get below 3/4 tank of gas.
Seems to be a common issue and GM has a tsb for it but they only covered the repare for 10 years and 120k I am at 11 with 70k miles. The fuel is leaking from the top of the tank and could cause a fire.
My 2010 Chevrolett Grand Sport has developed a very strong odor of gasoline. Both when parked in garage and while driving. It’s obviously leaking gasoline somewhere which could result in a fire or death.
I HAVE A STRONG ODOR OF FUEL INSIDE THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE AND ALSO OUTSIDE BY THE GAS TANK FILLER AREA. IT IS VERY PREVALENT WHEN VEHICLE IS PARKED AFTER RUNNING IT.
I NOTICED THE HEAVY SMELL OF GAS FUMES AFTER PUTTING GAS IN MY VET. THE SMELL IS MOST PROMINENT WHEN THE CAR IS OFF AND PARKED IN THE GARAGE. I AM SURE THAT THE SMELL IS ALWAYS PRESENT AND THAT BEING PARKED IN A PARKING LOT OR OUTSIDE DISSIPATES THE SMELL. I HAVE TRIED FILLING THE TANK HALF WAY TO SEE IF THAT WOULD HELP BUT THE SMELL OF GAS IS STILL THERE. IT IS STRONGEST IN THE REAR HATCH AREA ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. THE SMELL IN GARAGE IS SO STRONG I HAVE TO LEAVE THE GARAGE DOOR OPEN TO VENT. I AM FEARFUL THAT THE FUMES MAY IGNITE MY GAS WATER HEATER WHICH IS LOCATED ABOUT 7-8FT AWAY OR START A CAR FIRE IF GAS HITS THE HOT EXHAUST PIPE. THIS IS TRULY SOMETHING THAT CHEVY NEEDS TO REVIEW TO SEE IF FAULTY EQUIPMENT WAS PLACED IN THE C6 MODELS. I HAVE HAD THE VET FOR 4 YEARS IT IS A 2010 AND THE MILEAGE IS JUST OVER 55K. I JUST NOTICED THIS ISSUE ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO, BUT IT SEEMS TO BE GETTING WORSE. I HOPE THAT MY PROPERTY IS NOT DAMAGED BY A FUEL SOURCE ORIGINATING FROM THE CAR OR WORSE YET, A DEATH RELATED TO AN EXPLOSION OR FIRE.
FUEL VAPORS COMING FROM GAS CAP- EVEN AFTER REPLACING CAP.
FUEL VAPORS COMING FROM THE FUEL TANK ;POSSIBLE CRACK IN FUEL PUMP SPRAYING FUEL EVERYWHERE;I CAN CLOSE MY GARAGE DOOR BECAUSE I CAN'T BREATHE BECAUSE OF THE GAS ODOR.IT'S WORSE WHEN I PUT TEN GALLONS OR MORE
SEVERE FUEL SMELL WHEN FUEL LEVEL IS HIGH AND ESPECIALLY WHEN PARKED IN ENCLOSED SPACE. *TR
A GAS ODOR COMING FROM THE GAS FILL TUBE.
STRONG GAS SMELL WHEN CAR GETS FILLED UP. THEN AFTER I GO OUT OF THE GAS STATION CAR ACCELERATES BY ITSELF AFTER STOPPING AND ENGINE STOPS. AFTER TURNING THE CAR ON AGAIN VERY STRONG GAS SMELL. THIS WILL GO ON AFTER SOME OF THE GAS IS WASTED.
BOUGHT 2010 CORVETTE ON 4/29/2020 OUT OF TOWN. LAST 2 DAYS HAVE HAD STRONG GAS SMELL IN GARAGE. SAW ONLINE ABOUT AN ISSUE AND POSSIBLE RECALL?
WHEN THE VEHICLE SITS IN AN ENCLOSED GARAGE, IT FILLS THE GARAGE WITH RAW FUEL ODOR. THIS HAPPENS MOST OFTEN WHEN IT IS AROUND 3/4 TANK. NO FUEL LEAKS ON THE FLOOR VISIBLE BUT ODOR IS VERY STRONG. GAS MILEAGE HAS DROPPED SIGNIFICANTLY AS WELL.
WENT TO FILL UP TANK AND DROVE OFF WITH A VERY BAD GAS SMELL INSIDE THE CAR, PUT CAR IN GARAGE AND SMELL WAS SO BAD HAD TO OPEN GARAGE AND PUT CAR OUT. IT ONLY SMELLS WHEN I FILL UP TANK.
