MY BACK SEAT MIDDLE SEAT BELT IS LOCKED INTO PLACE AND IS NOT USEABLE. I WAS STATIONARY TRYING TO BUCKLE IN MY BOYFRIEND'S DAUGHTER AND COULD NOT GET THE SEAT BELT TO UNLOCK.
NHTSA IS NUMBER 11193552 I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AS THIS CUSTOMER TO THE T. THE CARS RADIO WILL SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING AFTER I TAKE THEY KEY OUT WHILE PARKED THE KEY FOB WILL NOT LOCK THE CAR AND THEN IF PUT INTO THE INGISHON IT WILL EAT THE KEY AND LOCK UP . THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO THERE SHOULDN'T BE A YOUTUBE VIDEO WITH 50K VIEWS ON HOW TO GET YOUR CAR KEY OUT OF THE INGISHON AFTER THE ELITRICAL PROBLEMS. NHTSA IS NUMBER 11192482 SAME PROBLEM AS THIS CUSTOMER RAIDO SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING THEN KEY FOB WILL NOT LOCK THE CAR AFTER PULLING THE KEY OUT AFTER THIS HAPPENS NOTHING WILL LOCK OR TURN ON.PUT THE KEY IN AND IT WILL LOCK UP THE KEY IN THE INGISHON AND NOT EVEN GET INTO THE ON POSITION ( IV MADE CORRECTIONS TO THE NHTSA NUMBER )
*ENGINE FIRE* 4/10/19... (XXXXX) WAS IN THE CAR AND IT WAS IDLING AT THE SANDY, UTAH MCDONALDS PARKING LOT WHEN SMOKE AND SMELL CAME FROM ENGINE. SHE PUT OUT FIRE WITH WATER. I ARRIVED 15-20 MINUTES LATER TO HELP. I INSPECTED ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND DID A VISUAL CHECK ONLY TO FIND BURNT WIRING. THERE WAS NO OTHER KNOWN ISSUES AND VERIFIED NO FLUIDS SPILLED. I CALLED THE INSURANCE COMPANY AND THEY HAD TOWED TO RIVERTON CHEVROLET TO WORK WITH CHEVROLET AND HAVE KNOWN ENGINE FIRE RISKS. 2014 CHEVROLET CRUISE CASE# 95243938936 (GM) VIN: (XXXXXX) 4/11/19 INSURANCE COMPANY TOWED TO RIVERTON MOTORS. RIVERTON MOTORS INVOICE# 6209533 / 6206861/1 4/11/19 THE DAY AFTER THE ENGINE FIRE, I RECEIVED A CALL FROM FRED URIBE (SERVICE REP.) FROM THE RIVERTON MOTORS SERVICE CENTER. HE STATED THAT THERE WAS OIL ALL OVER AND IT NEEDED REPAIR. I TOLD HIM THAT THE CAR WAS IN FOR AN ENGINE FIRE AND I NEVER HAD AN OIL OR ANY CAR LEAKS. HE TOLD ME IT WOULD BE ~$600 TO REPAIR THE OIL COOLER LEAK AND IT NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED BEFORE THE ENGINE FIRE ISSUE. A FEW DAYS LATER FRED CALLED AND SAID IT WAS ACTUALLY A TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAK. THEY DIAGNOSED THE FIRE AS BEING STARTED FROM THE TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAK? THE INVOICE WRONGLY STATED THAT I REPORTED A LEAK NEEDING REPAIR AND NOT THE FIRE I REPORTED!!! I INFORMED RIVERTON MOTORS THAT THERE WAS AN ENGINE FIRE AND NOT ANY LEAKS. INVOICE INCORRECTLY STATED: CUSTOMER STATED VEHICLE HAS A COOLANT LEAK, LATER STATED THE CUSTOMER STATED VEHICLE HAS AN OIL LEAK. AND THEN VEHICLE FOUND THE RADIATOR LEAKING. THE INVOICE DID NOT STATE THE ACTUAL REASON FOR THE SERVICE WAS AN ENGINE FIRE!!!! WHILE DRIVING MY CAR THE RADIO DASHBOARD WILL START FLASHING ON AND OFF ON ITS OWN THEN WHEN I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND TURN IT OFF THE KEY IS STUCK IN THE IGNITION AND THE DASHBOARD IS COMPLETELY BLACK AND THE CAR WILL NOT TURN ON AT ALL. 3/28/2019 AROUND 11PM THE CAR RADIO DASH BOARD WAS FLASHING AND I TURN MY CAR OFF AND IT WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO TAKE THE KEY OUT AT ALL WELL SOME TIME THROUGH OUT THE NIGHT THE CAR TURNED BACK ON BECAUSE AT 6AM THE LIGHTS WHERE BACK ON IN MY CAR BY ITSELF. THE NEXT MORNING I DRIVE MY CAR TO SCHOOL AND IT DOES THE SAME THING WITH THE DASHBOARD AND FLASHING ON AND OFF AND IT SHUTS OFF AGAIN, THIS TIME I GET A JUMP START AND THE CAR IS BACK WORKING. THE CAR ALSO ACT AS IF IT WAS GOING TO SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING IT. BUT IT HAS DONE THIS TO ME BACK ON NOVEMBER 8,2018. I FEAR FOR MY LIFE DRIVING THIS CAR BEACUSE YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHEN THE CAR WILL SHUT OFF WHILE ON THE ROAD. MULTIPLE DASH AND SYSTEM FAILURES RESULTING IN STALLS AND LOSS OF STEERING AND POWER. ESSENTIALLY LOCKING UP. VERY DANGEROUS CONDITIONS IN TRAFFIC. MOST RECENTLY DASH INDICATING ANTI-THIEF DETERRENT SYSTEM WARNING. THESE CONDITIONS HAVE HAPPENED OVER THE LAST FULL YEAR. DEALER DIAGNOSIS WAS NILL. I HAVE BEEN HAVING TO REVIEW PUBLIC VIDEOS FOR HELP. MAY OR MAY NOT BE A NEGATIVE CABLE BATTERY ISSUE BUT CHEVROLET HAS YET TO RECALL THIS! I AM FEARING FOR MY SAFETY.
I'VE NOTICED MY RADIO AND LIGHTS ON SCREEN GOES OUT WHILE I'M DRIVING SOMETIMES AND I THINK THAT'S AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM AND COULD PROBABLY START FIRE.
WE HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE DEF SYSTEM TWICE, REPLACED TWO KNOCK SENSORS, HAD TO REPLACE THE DIESEL PARTILEC SENSOR, AMONG MANY OTHER TIME BEING THE SHOP. THIS CAR HAS NOT RAN RIGHT SINCE WE BOUGHT IT. NOW, EVERYTIME WE START THE CAR AND BEGIN TO DRIVE IT, WE GET A WARNING ABOUT THE STABILTRAK NOT WORKING, THEN POWERSTEERING GOES OUT, AND ENTIRE CAR SHUTS DOWN AND GOES BLACK WHEN THE CAR IS POWERED OFF. THIS SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITHIN THESE VEHICLES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET CRUZE. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED AND THE TRAC SENSOR WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. WHITEMAN CHEVROLET (79-89 DIX AVE, GLENS FALLS, NY 12801, (518) 832-9928) WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
I HAD THE CAR FOR ALMOST 4 YEARS AND SOME WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED. NOW I'M EXPERIENCING LOTS OF PROBLEMS. FIRST IT WAS COOLANT LEAK, RADIATOR, WATER PUMP, THERMOSTAT AND NOW THE HEAD GASKET ARE OUT CALLED DEALERSHIP & GM AND THEY SAY THE CAN'T DO NOTHING ABOUT IT. CURRENTLY STILL PAYING FOR A FOR THE CAR AND HAVE NOT RECEIVED NO HELP FOR EITHER PARTIES MENTION ABOVE. I WILL LIKE TO KNOW IF THIS CAR IS IN THE LEMON LAW OR IF SOMEONE CAN HELP ME. THANK YOU
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN, I WOULD LIKE TO FILE A COMPLAINT ON THE SAFETY HAZARD CAUSED BY FAULTY BLIND SPOT DETECTORS ON CHEVY CRUZES. I STARTED RECEIVING A NOTIFICATION ON MY DASHBOARD THAT THE BLIND SPOT ALERT SYSTEM NEEDED SERVICE. ONLY A WEEK LATER I WAS RECEIVING NOTIFICATIONS THAT THE ALERT WAS TURNED OFF. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE CHEVY DEALER THEY RAN THE SOFTWARE AND SAID THAT IT WAS DEFECTIVE AND THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE THE BLIND SPOT DETECTOR MODULES FOR $900. AT FIRST GM SEEMED WILLING TO WORK AND START A CASE FILE AND LOWERED THE PRICE TO $734. CURRENTLY MY CARS BLIND SPOT ISN'T WORKING AND IT SEEMS TO HAVE SPREAD TO THE REAR CROSS TRAFFIC ALERT WHICH IS NOTIFYING ME THAT IT'S TURNED OFF AS WELL. THE CHEVY DEALER SAID THAT THEY WOULD TRY AND REPLACE THE BLIND SPOT MODULES AND HOPEFULLY THAT WOULD FIX THE REAR CROSS TRAFFIC DETECTORS. THE STEERING WHEEL STICKS WHEN I AM DRIVING. IT'S EXTREMELY NOTICEABLE WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY OR MAKING TURNS. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM COMES ON AND OFF WHEN THE VEHICLE IS OPERATIONAL. ALL OF A SUDDEN MY RADIO WILL GO ON AND OFF AND THE AIR CONDITIONER AND THE HEATER WILL STOP WORKING. I HAVE 5 CHILDREN AND 3 STILL AT HOME AND I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE MY CAR BUT UNFORTUNATELY IT'S ALL WE HAVE.
WHILE DRIVING LONG DISTANCES ON STRAIGHT HIGHWAYS THE STEERING WHEEL BECOMES EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO TURN. GM ISSUED A SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT #14232A FOR POWER STEERING STICK-SLIP THAT LISTS 2011-2014 CHEVROLET CRUZE MODELS, BUT WHEN GM SEARCHES THIS SPECIFIC VIN IT DOES NOT LIST AN AVAILABLE SERVICE BULLETIN. CONTACTED GM TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED PER THE SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT BUT WAS INFORMED THAT IT WASN'T COVERED PER THE VIN SEARCH. ALL THE CRITERIA MATCH THE BULLETIN (YEAR, MAKE, MODEL, TIME AND MILEAGE) AND THE KNOWN SAFETY DEFECT BY GM , AND SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER THE ABOVE-MENTIONED SERVICE BULLETIN.
LEAKING OIL ON EXHAUST AND GM WONT FIX IT EVEN CAR IS STILL UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY. SMELLS BAD INSIDE VEHICLE AS BURNING OIL. CONCERNED IT MAY START ON FIRE
THE WATER PUMP IN MY 2014 CHEVY CRUZE . STARTED TO LEAK. WHEN I TOOK IT IN FOR SERVICE THEY SAID IT AND THE THERMOSTAT AND THERMOSTAT CASING HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 51,000 MI. I FOUND A BULLETIN #14371 B DATED JAN.2015 THAT EXPLAINS A SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT FOR 2011-2014 CRUZES THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT WAS ONLY FOR 1.4L ENGINES NOT MY 1.8 L ENGINE SO IT ISN'T COVERED. I HAVE FOUND OTHER 1.8L CRUDE OWNERS ON LEMON LAW SITES THAT ALSO CLAIM PROBLEMS WITH THE WATERPUMPS.
WHILE DRIVING TO WORK ON A BUSY HIGHWAY HEADING TO DANVILLE VA WHERE THE SPEED LIMIT IS AROUND 55 TO 60 MPH DURING A WINTRY MIX STORM THE DRIVER SIDE WINDSHIELD WIPER STOPPED WORKING MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE. ON VARIOUS WEB SITES THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THESE VEHICLES. THUS FAR UPON MY RESEARCH THERE ARE VARIOUS CAUSES FOR THIS TO OCCUR BUT THE ONE THAT I KNOW ITS NOT IN MY CASE IS THAT I HAVE BAD WIPERS.THESE WIPERS WERE JUST RECENTLY REPLACED.
RECENTLY TURNED UP THE DEFOGGER ON FRONT WINDSHIELD TO WARN CAR UP AND I HEARD A A LOUD VIBRATING SOUND AND A HUMMING NOISE COMING FROM VENTS, MY BLOWER MOTOR STARTS VIBRATING ON ANYTHING AFTER 3 FOR THE LEVEL. TODAY I WAS DRIVING IN THE SNOW AND USED MY WIPERS THE DRIVER SIDE STOPPED MID WAY AND WAS STUCK. ONCE I REACHED MY DESTINATION I TRIED USING THE WIPERS AGAIN AND THE DRIVER SIDE DID NOTHING. I GOT OUT AND OUT IT DOWN TRIED ONCE MORE AND THE DRIVER WIPER DID NOT MOVE.
WHEN THE VEHICLE COMES TO A STOP THE HEADLIGHTS START TO GLITCH, THE RADIO GOES OFF AND A WARNING FOR THE STABILITRAK COMES ON AS WELL AS A POWER STEERING WARNING. ONCE THE CAR COMES TO A STOP INTERMITTENTLY IT WILL GO COMPLETELY DEAD AND THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE IF TAPPED ON WILL CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO COME BACK ON WITH NO ISSUE. BATTERY HAS BEEN REPLACED AS NEW BUT ISSUE STILL OCCURS
I HAVE A 2014 CHEVY CRUZE LS, 115,000 MILES AND PROPERLY MAINTENANCED. AFTER HITTING 100,000 MILES THE VEHICLE SEEMS TO BE COMPLETELY FALLING APART. RECENTLY HAD TO REPLACE THE OIL COOLING SYSTEM DUE TO IT BEING CRACKED. AFTER THAT WAS FIXED MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. COME TO FIND OUT THE ENTIRE INTAKE MANIFOLD NOW NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. AFTER THAT ISSUE IS RESOLVED, MY STEERING WHEEL IS NOW STICKING DEAD CENTER WITH A LACK OF MOVEMENT WITH TURNING.
I WILL BE DRIVING WHEN ALL OF THE LIGHTS ON MY DASH START GOING ON AND OFF , POWER SERVICE TRACK SHOWS UP, MY RADIO WILL SHUT OFF AND IT BECOMES A BLACK SCREEN. I WILL BE DRIVING OR STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT OR TURNING AND THE CAR WILL ACTUALLY COMPLETELY TURN OFF AND START COASTING. IF I AM AT A STOP LIGHT I WILL THAN HAVE TO PUT THE CAR INTO PARK AND THEN TURN THE KEY TO START THE ENGINE AGAIN. I HAVE HAD TO JUMP MY CAR NUMEROUS TIME TO WHERE I KEEP A PORTABLE JUMP IN MY CAR. MY KEY WILL GET LOCKED IN THE IGNITION AND I HAVE TO STICK A WRENCH UNDER THE STEERING WHEEL TO GET IT OUT. I HAVE REPLACED MY ALTERNATOR AND MY BATTERY WAS SO SWOLLEN I HAD TO REPLACE THAT AS WELL. THE WIRING WAS REPLACED TO CONNECT THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR AND I JUST HAD THE BCM REPLACED. I'M STILL HAVING ALL THESE ISSUES AFTER ALL THESE REPAIRS. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE NOVEMBER OF LAST YEAR AND IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME I DRIVE MY CAR!
VEHICLE MAY JERK VIOLENTLY DURING DE-ACCELERATION FROM EXPRESSWAY SPEEDS. THIS CONDITION MAY RESULT IN LOSS OF CONTROL - ESPECIALLY DURING WINTER/ICE LIKE ROAD CONDITIONS. TO DUPLICATE THE ISSUE: 1 - OPERATE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FOR AT LEAST 40 MINUTES AT EXPRESSWAY SPEEDS OF APPROX 70MPH 2 - WHEN EXITING EXPRESSWAY RAMP THE VEHICLE WILL DOWNSHIFT. 3 - SOMETIMES DURING DOWN SHIFTING - THERE IS A LURCH OR IMPACT LIKE FEELING SO INTENSE THAT THE DRIVER MAY BELIEVE THEY WERE REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THIS MATTER WAS BROUGHT TO THE ATTEMPT OF GM DEALERS AND GM CORPORATE AND THEY HAVE FAILED TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. DEALER 1 RESPONSE WAS SIMILAR TO "IT'S YOUR DRIVING HABITS" AND "WE RESET THE COMPUTER SO IT CAN RE-LEARN HOW YOU DRIVE". THIS FAILED TO RESOLVE ISSUE. DEALER 2 RESPONSE - WE CAN DUPLICATE THE ISSUE - THEN LATER WE CAN'T DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. DEALER ALSO ADVISED THEY EMAILED GM FOR ADDITIONAL SUPPORT. GM STATES THEY NEVER RECEIVED THE EMAIL. VEHICLE HAS SPENT GREATER THAN 30 DAYS IN THE SHOP FOR THE TRANSMISSION LIKE ISSUES. AS A FIREFIGHTER - IT IS MY PROFESSIONAL OPINION THAT THIS CONDITION MAY RESULT IN SUBSTANTIAL HARM TO THE DRIVER OR OCCUPANTS OF VEHICLE IF THIS CONDITION HAPPENS WHILE OPERATING THE MOTOR VEHICLE ON ICE OR SNOW AND POSSIBLY RAIN LIKE CONDITIONS. WHERE IT IS MY BELIEF THAT SUCH INJURY COULD RESULT IN DEATH OR GRAVE BODILY INJURY. THIS ISSUE HAS HAPPENED ON/OFF SINCE 01/01/2019 FROM 68K MILES TO CURRENT MILES OF 98K. GM/DEALERS HAVE INDICATED THAT ALL VEHICLE SOFTWARE IS UP TO DATE AND THERE ARE NO ENGINE CODES.
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FAILURE CAN RESULT IN VEHICLE ROLLING BACKWARDS FOR 3-5 SECONDS IN DURATION AFTER RELEASING BRAKE WHILE. WHILE ON FLAT GROUND - THIS CAUSES DANGER TO OTHER DRIVER AS THE EXPECT OTHER VEHICLES TO BE MOVING AFTER A TRAFFIC LIGHT TURNS GREEN. WHILE ON AN INCLINE - THIS CONDITION MAY POSE A DANGER TO PEDESTRIANS AND OTHER MOTORISTS AS THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WILL ALLOW THE VEHICLE TO ROLL BACKWARDS A GREAT DISTANCE. THE DISTANCE AND SPEED OF TRAVEL BACKWARDS WILL VARY BASED ON ANGLE OF INCLINE OF STREET OR ROAD. WHEN THIS CONDITION OCCURS - THE DRIVER IS COMPLETELY UNAWARE AND MAY NOT BE ABLE TO APPLY THE BRAKE IN ENOUGH TIME TO PREVENT COLLISION WITH OTHER VEHICLES OR PEDESTRIANS. SERVICE 1 - THE VEHICLE SHOWS NO CODES FOR TRANSMISSION FAILURE. 2 - MULTIPLE GM DEALERS HAVE CONFIRMED SOFTWARE OF VEHICLE IS UP TO DATE. 3 - MULTIPLE DEALERS HAVE MIXED STATEMENTS IF THEY CAN DUPLICATE THE ISSUE OR NOT. DEALER 1 SAYS - "IT'S YOUR DRIVING HABITS. WE RESET THE COMPUTER AND IT WILL RE-LEARN HOW YOU DRIVE." DEALER 2 SAYS - "WE WERE ABLE TO DUPLICATE YOUR ISSUE AND ARE AWAITING A RESPONSE FROM GM" - WHEN SPEAKING TO GM THEY INDICATED THEY NEVER RECEIVED AN EMAIL FORM THE DEALER. CONDITION WAS FIRST SEEN AT APPROXIMATELY 68K MILES AND HAS CONTINUED ON/OFF UNTIL CURRENT MILEAGE OF 98K. DEALER AND GM CORPORATE HAVE HAD VEHICLE FOR GREATER THAN 30 DAYS AND ARE UNABLE TO PROVIDE RESOLUTION. AS A FIREFIGHTER - IT IS MY PROFESSIONAL OPINION THAT THIS CONDITION MAY PRESENT A RISK TO PUBLIC WELFARE.
WHILE DRIVING DURING A STORM DRIVER SIDE WINDSHIELD WIPER STOPPED WORKING. COULD NOT SEE AT ALL WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE ON HIGHWAY.
MY 2014 CHEVROLET CRUZE STARTED LOSING POWER UPON ACCELERATION. A FEW DAYS LATER, THE ENGINE DIAGNOSTIC LIGHT CAME ON. I KNEW SOMETHING WAS WRONG WHEN I COULDN'T KEEP IT RUNNING IN MY DRIVEWAY TO CLEAR THE ICE FROM THE WINDOWS. FINALLY, I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT TO OUR MECHANIC. WHEN HE RAN THE CODES, HIS COMPUTER SHOWED TWO SENSORS AND THE ALTERNATOR NEEDED REPLACING. OVER $700.00 LATER, THE PROBLEM STILL WASN'T FIXED. I WAS AFRAID TO DRIVE MY CAR, FEARING THE LACK OF POWER AND BOGGING WOULD CAUSE ME TO STALL IN TRAFFIC, THUS INCREASING THE LIKELIHOOD OF CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. IT IS BURNING GAS AND BOGGING UPON ACCELERATION AND / OR WHILE IDLING. SOMETIMES, IT IS DIFFICULT TO START. THE DIAGNOSTIC LIGHT IS STILL ON. TODAY, MY MECHANIC IDENTIFIED THE PROBLEM. THE CHECK VALVE IN THE INTAKE MANIFOLD HAS STOPPED SEALING AND HAS DISAPPEARED. WHERE DID IT GO? INSIDE THE ENGINE? I ASK. IT WILL NEED A NEW VENT TUBE, A NEW INTAKE MANIFOLD WITH THE CHECK VALVE INTACT, AND A NEW VALVE COVER WHICH HAS TO BE REPLACED DUE TO A LITTLE DIAPHRAGM WHICH CAN'T BE REPLACED BY ITSELF. ANOTHER POOR DESIGN. THIS CAR ONLY HAS 47,967 MILES AS OF 2-05-2019. I BOUGHT THIS CAR FOR THE GOOD GAS MILEAGE, WHICH HAS BEEN GREATLY REDUCED AT THIS TIME. GM NEEDS TO CORRECT THESE PROBLEMS SINCE THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN CAUSED BY A FAULTY DESIGN OF THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE AS NHTSA HAS A BULLETIN NUMBER (11170978) IDENTIFYING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE CRUZE IN OTHER STATES. AS A SENIOR ON A FIXED INCOME, IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED THAT THIS PROBLEM IS CORRECTED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THANK YOU.

PROBLEM NO.2, I PURCHASED A NEW CHEVY CRUZE ECO WITH A MANUAL TRANSMISSION 4 YEARS AGO, I GOT IT BECAUSE I WANTED A HIGH MPG CAR AND I HAVE BEEN DRIVING STANDARD TRANSMISSION SINCE I STARTED DRIVING AND I KNEW I COULD BETTER MILEAGE THEN RATED (65.5 MPG MY BEST SCORE!), BUT THE SHIFTER HAS TO MUCH SLOP IN IT, I HAD A CUTLASS WITH A HURST SHIFTER THAT WAS 16 INCHES TALL AND USED THAT HAD LESS SLOP! I HAVE COMPLAINED TO DEALER ABOUT IT SINCE THE DAY I GOT CAR! THREE TIMES I HAVE PUT THE TRANSMISSION IN BOTH FIRST AND THIRD GEAR AT THE SAME TIME! I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW MANY TIME I HAVE MISSED THE SHIFT WHILE STILL HOLDING ALL THE WAY IN POSITION! IF I AM IN A HURRY I CAN'T FIND THE GEAR AT ALL! PROBLEM NO.3, THE HYDRAULIC THROW-OUT BEARING IS SLUSHY AND SLOW. BECAUSE THE MASTER-CYLINDER AND FEED-LINE IS TO SMALL! I AM A FAST SHIFTER, AND I CAN OUT SHIFT THE CLUTCH! THAT IS BAD BECAUSE THE PRESSURE PLATE DOESN'T CLOSE FAST ENOUGH IT CAUSES EXCESS WARE AND BURNING OF THE CLUTCH!

THE CONTACT LINKED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V442000 (STEERING) WITH THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,847.
I'VE HAD MY 2014 CHEVY CRUZE FOR ABOUT 2 YEARS NOW. BACK IN DECEMBER 2018 IT STARTED HAVING A LOT OF ISSUES. ANTIFREEZE WAS POURING OUT, IT WAS SPITTING AND SPUTTERING, ROUGH IDLE,AND OVERHEATING, MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH CHEVY DEALERSHIP. THEY HAD MY CAR ABOUT A WEEK. THE SAID WATER PUMP WAS FAILING,THERMOSTAT WAS OUT, COOLER OUTLET HOSES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. NOT EVEN 12 HOURS LATER I WAS TAKING IT BACK IN FOR THE SAME PROBLEMS. ENGINE LIGHTS WERE STILL COMING ON. THIS TIME THEY FIXED THE OIL COOLER LINE, AND CRANKSHAFT. A FEW DAYS PASSED AND AGAIN I WAS STILL HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. TOOK IT BACK, AND THEY FIXED THE CRANKCASE VENTALATION, CAMSHAFT COVER, INTAKE MANIFOLDINTAKE AIR PRESSURE SENSOR. MAYBE 2 WEEKS PASSED AND I FINALLY GOT UPSET AND TOOK IT 45 MINS TO ANOTHER SHOP, WITHIN A FEW HOURS I GOT A CALL THAT MY HEAD GASKET WAS BLOWN. I WAS STILL HAVING ALL THE SAME ISSUES AS I DID WHEN IT FIRST MESSED UP. I ENDED UP HAVING TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE OTHER DEALERSHIP WHO HAD BEEN WORKING ON IT. THEY KEPT ME CAR FOR 29 DAYS WHILE FIXING MY BLOWN HEAD GASKET. THEY RESURFACED IT AND FIXED CLAMPS. WELL, THURSDAY JULY 11 I WAS AT MY BOSSES HOUSE TRYING TO BACK UP UNDER A SHADE TREE. WHEN I STARTED THE CAR, IT SOUNDED HORRIBLE. IT WAS JUST SPITTING AND SPUTTERING. I OUT IT IN REVERSE AND HIT THE GAS. MY CAR STARTED ROLLING TOWARD! IT WOULD NOT BACK IT. I WENT TO HIT THE BRAKE AND IT DID NOTHING. I HAD TO PULL MY EMERGANCY BREAK BEFORE I RAN INTO HER FENSE.I IMMEDIATELY GOT ON THE PHONE WITH THE DEALERSHIP 45 MINS AWAY. SET MY APPOINTMENT UP. LATER THAT NIGHT ON THE WAY TO TAKE MY KIDS TO VBS, WE WERE STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT. WHILE TRYING TO CROSS OVER A MAIN HIGHWAY THE CAR JUST STARTED SPITTING AND SPUTTERING. IT WAS BARELY MOVING EVEN THOUGH I HAD THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR. GOT IT TO DEALERSHIP 45 MINS AWAY FRIDAY 12TH. ANOTHE BLOWN HEAD GASKET. THAT CAR IS NOT SAFE
I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM A DEALER IN 2014 AND WHENEVER I DON'T DRIVE IT FOR A 24 HOUR PERIOD THE BATTERY WILL BE DEAD AND REQUIRE A JUMP START. I'VE CHANGED THE BATTERY 4 TIMES BUT THE BATTERY ISN'T THE PROBLEM. SOMETHING IS KILLING THE BATTERY.

TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE I'VE SEEN OTHER COMPLAINTS ONLINE AND I THINK THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL BECAUSE IT IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD TO NOT HAVE THE DRIVER SIDE WIPER BLADE OPERATIONAL. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY. BUT IT WAS A RAINY DAY AND I HAD TO DRIVE TO WORK WITH NO WIPERS. BY THE GRACE OF GOD MY WORK IS LITERALLY THREE MINUTES FROM HOME. AND MY SON IS A MECHANIC AT A CHEVY DEALERSHIP SO I WAS ABLE TO HAVE THE PROBLEM FIXED IN A FEW DAYS. BUT I'M SURE THERE ARE QUITE A FEW PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT SO LUCKY THAT ARE STUCK WITH THIS PROBLEM. I LOOKED IT UP ONLINE AND SAW A 25 COMPLAINTS OTHER THAN MINE AND IT HAPPENED TO THEM WHILE THEIR CAR WAS IN MOTION.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW YARD AND WAS TOTALED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. CODES P0411 & P2440 DETECTED AFTER DIAGNOSTICS, PUMP SUPPLIES CATALYTIC CONVERTER FOR PURPOSE OF REDUCING HARMFUL EMISSIONS. BOTH CONVERTERS WERE REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY THIS YEAR. WHY IS A.I.R. NOT COVERED IF IT IS RELATED TO THE CONVERTERS? ENGINE LIGHT ON .
60,000 MILES THE TRANSMISSION LINES STARTED LEAKING,AT 61,000 MILES A HEAD GASKET WENT OUT.IT WAS IN MY DRIVEWAY WHEN I NOTICED EVERYTHING.
VEHICLE WAS TAKEN INTO GM DEALER (LARKIN-COBB) CHEVROLET BECAUSE IT WAS LEAKING COOLANT. HAD TO ADD COOLANT TO RESERVOIR AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK. DEALER FOUND A SMALL VALVE DRIPPING ON THE ENGINE AND REPLACED IT. THE VEHICLE WAS UNDER REMAINING POWERTRAIN WARRANTY AT THE TIME OF COMPLAINT/ISSUE. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO LEAK AFTER SAID REPAIR AND WAS BROUGHT BACK TO DEALER 2 MORE TIMES AND DYE TEST WAS DONE AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. ON THE THIRD TIME THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK AGAIN WITH THE SAME ISSUE..LOSS OF COOLANT. THE DEALER AND GM WARRANTY NOW WANT TO CHARGE ME FOR CYLINDER HEAD REMOVAL AND HEAD GASKET REPLACEMENT. I CONTENDED THAT THE CAR WAS UNDER WARRANTY AT THE TIME OF INITIAL REPAIR AND THE ISSUE WAS NOT RESOLVED AND SHOULD STILL BE FIXED UNDER POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. GM WARRANTY REP SAID NO...THE "DATE" HAD EXPIRED. NOW I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO PAY FOR REPAIRS THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED UNDER POWERTRAIN WARRANTY..AND GM WONT "OWN" UP TO ITS WARRANTY. CANT JUST TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK BECAUSE IT WAS SETTING OFF "HIGH TEMPERATURE" CODE WHEN AT IDLE AND ALSO MOVING. AFTER RESEARCHING..THESE CHEVROLET CRUZES HAVE A VERY BAD HISTORY OF COOLING PROBLEMS...INCLUDING WATER PUMP, TURBO SEALS, AND BLOWN HEAD GASKETS. GM SHOULD HONOR THIER WARRANTYS AND FIX THE ENGINE AND COOLING PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR.IN MY OPINION, ANY COOLING PROBLEM SHOULD BE FIXED BECAUSE IT IS BADLY ENGINEERED.

PVC issue on 2014 Cruze. You need to include all years and VINs for this issue. Mine has been in the shop for 4 years straight trying to find the engine issue. It is always a PVC and engine runs rough. I can provide years of receipts trying to fix issue.

THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,000.
GM SERVICE BULLETIN PIP5197J (AS AMENDED 10/2018) DESCRIBES MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH THE PCV AND NON RETURN VALVE ON THIS ENGINE. IF EITHER PART FAILS IT IS A COSTLY REPAIR AND CAN LEAD TO OIL SPRAYING OUT OF THE VALVE COVER/INTAKE MANIFOLD. THIS HAPPENED TO MY VEHICLE IN OCTOBER AND HAS HAPPENED TO A HUGE NUMBER OF OTHER VEHICLES IN THE PAST 6 YEARS. THE OIL EXPECTORATE FROM THE ENGINE CAN BURN AND CAUSE SMOKE TO ENTER THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT LEADING TO RESPIRATORY ISSUES FOR THE PASSENGERS. THE ISSUE IS KNOWN TO GM BUT THEY WILL NOT ISSUE A RECALL OR SERVICE WARRANTY EXTENSION. IN ADDITION TO THE SMOKE ISSUE, THE OIL CAN ALSO FORM A HAZARD ON THE ROADWAY THROUGH OIL DROPLETS. A VERY TINY STOPPER BALL IN THE VALVE CAN MALFUNCTION, LEADING TO A CASCADE OF FAILURES THROUGHOUT THE ENGINE. THE SERVICE BULLETIN COVERS 4 SPECIFIC MODELS OF VEHICLES FROM 2011-2019.
WHILE DRIVING MY RADIO STARTS TO FLASH ON/OFF, STABILITRAK, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FLASHES ON THE DASHBOARD. WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME STIFF. IF I DIDN'T HAVE CONTROL OF MY CAR I WOULD'VE HIT THE CURB AND/OR ANOTHER CAR. ALL WHILE MY KIDS WERE IN THE VEHICLE. I HAVE READ OTHER COMPLAINTS DEALING WITH THE SAME ISSUE, WHY HASN'T THIS BEEN ISSUED AS A SAFETY RECALL YET????
WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE LOSES POWER AND YOU HAVE TO PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND RESTART. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO GREATWOOD AUTO IN SUGAR LAND A FEW TIMES AND THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO FIND A PROBLEM.
