THE INTAKE MANIFOLD DESIGN ON THE TURBO ENGINES ARE FAULTY AND FAIL EVERY 40,000 MILES OR SO. GM IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND YET THERE IS NO ATTEMPT TO REDESIGN THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. THE CHECK VALVE IN THE INTAKE MANIFOLD IS WHAT FAILS TO WORK. THE CHECK VALVE STOPS SEALING AND EVENTUALLY DISAPPEARS CAUSING A LEAK. THERE IS EVEN A BULLETIN DESCRIBING THE ISSUE BUT YET NO FIX BY GM. WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO FORCE GM TO FIX THEIR FAULTY DESIGNED PRODUCT?
I WAS IN MOTION / DRIVING MAKING A RIGHT TURN ON A CITY STREET, USED MY TURN INDICATOR AND THE RADIO SHUT OFF AS WELL AS THE DASHBOARD FLASHED THE TRACTION CONTROL ALERT. I HAVE NOT HAD THIS SITUATION HAPPEN BEFORE BUT IT IS VERY CONCERNING.
PARKED THE CAR, GOT OUT AND SMELLED GASOLINE. LOOKED ALL AROUND THE CAR AND DID NOT SEE ANY GAS ON THE GROUND. OPENED THE HOOD AND FOUND A SILVER DISC IN THE FUEL LINE SPRAYING FUEL ALL OVER THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. IT IS A FUEL INJECTION PRESSURE DAMPER THAT FAILED. DEALERSHIP IS SAYING THE PART IS OBSOLETE AND CAN NOT GET ANOTHER ONE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET CRUZE. WHILE DRIVING 75 MPH, THE VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTED WHILE STALLING. THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF AND THE "REDUCING POWER" AND "DIESEL SHUTTING OFF" WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT PLACED THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL WHILE IT WAS DOWNSHIFTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,000.
FAULTY PARTS HAVE CAUSED ISSUES WITH THE ENGINE, SUCH AS CONSTANT ENGINE TICKING, AND SQUEAKING WHEN SLOWING DOWN AND BELOW 1300RPM. BOTH OF THESE PROBLEMS I BELIEVE ARE CAUSING THE ENGINE TO HAVE POWER LOSS AND ULTIMATELY MAKE THIS VEHICLE LESS POWERFUL AND BECOME UNDEPENDABLE. BEYOND THOSE PROBLEMS I CONSISTENTLY GET WARNINGS ABOUT THE TRACTION CONTROL AND STABILITRAK. I AM DOING WHAT I CAN TO FIX THIS THING BUT BELIEVE IT SHOULD NOT HAVE LEFT THE FACTORY. *TR
RADIO/SCREEN TURNED OFF AND THE CAR'S STEERING WAS AFFECTED. TWICE WITHIN THE SAME HOUR. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THIS HAPPENED. HIGHLY DANGEROUS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET CRUZE. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO O'CONNER AUTO PARK (199 RIVERSIDE DR, AUGUSTA, ME 04330. 207-622-3191) AND REPAIRED PER AN UNKNOWN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RECALL REPAIR FAILED TO REMEDY THE FAILURE AS THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 63,931. *TT CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL FOR CATALYTIC CONVERTER FAILURE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON SOON AFTER. EMISSIONS IS UNDER WARRANTY FOR 150,000 MILES OR UNTIL 2029 WHICH COME FIRST. UPDATED *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET CRUZE. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED, IT EXPERIENCED ELECTRICAL FAILURES AND SHUT ON AND OFF. ALSO, THE BRAKES SKIPPED AND THE VEHICLE JERKED WHEN COMING TO A STOP. THE FAILURES OCCURRED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING TEST DRIVEN. PREMIER CAR SALES LLC (5425 ELVIS PRESLEY BLVD, MEMPHIS, TN 38116) STATED THAT THE FAILURES WOULD BE REPAIRED BEFORE THE SALE WAS FINAL. THE DEALER CLAIMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN UNKNOWN CHEVROLET DEALER FOR REPAIRS. AFTER THE SALE OF THE VEHICLE, THE BRAKE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE CONTACT RETURNED TO THE DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A CHEVROLET DEALER FOR REPAIRS SINCE IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY. BEFORE THE CONTACT COULD TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER, SHE WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH. WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN IN THE RAIN, THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF AND SLID INTO THE SIDE OF A CURB. THE AXLES, ROTOR, SPINDLE, AND RIMS WERE FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S HOME. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN UNKNOWN DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED AND THEY STATED THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO GENERAL MOTORS. THE CONTACT BOUGHT NEW ROTORS, A NEW SPINDLE, AND RIMS AND HAD THEM REPLACED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. GENERAL MOTORS REFUSED TO INVESTIGATE THE FAILURE BECAUSE REPAIRS HAD BEEN MADE; HOWEVER, THE BRAKES CONTINUED TO MALFUNCTION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000.
MY 2014 CHEVY CRUZE EXPERIENCED A FUEL LEAK IN THE FUEL SUPPLY HOSE. THE LEAK WAS SPRAYING RIGHT NEAR THE AIR INDUCTION ON THE COWL PANEL AND DRIPPING ONTO THE EXHAUST. OBVIOUSLY THIS WAS A MAJOR FIRE HAZARD. THE ENTIRE FRONT FRONT FUEL FEED LINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. A QUICK YOUTUBE SEARCH SHOWS THAT I AM NOT ALONE IN EXPERIENCING THIS. SEE THE VIDEO BELOW. DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AT 11:15PM ON SEPTEMBER 8TH, NEARING THE TOLL PLAZA IN GARY, INDIANA THE CAR MADE A SUDDEN SOUND KINDVE LIKE A BANG, THE ENGINE SHUT OFF, ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH CAME ON, I CAME TO A STOP AND TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO START THE VEHICLE AND IT WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING. EVERY TIME I TUNED THE KEY TO THE OFF POSITION AND THEN TURNED IT TO ACCESSORY, THE DASH DISPLAYS SERVICE AIR BAG AND SERVICE POWER STEERING. THE WINDOWS, DOOR LOCKS, TRUCK RELEASE WILL NOT WORK. I HAD TO CALL MY INSURANCE COMPANY AND SET UP A TOW TO GET THE CAR BACK HOME. I HAD TO BE AT WORK AT 7AM THAT DAY, I WORKED 16 HOURS, AND DIDN'T GET HOME TILL 1:30AM ON SEPTEMBER 9TH. THE CAR IS IN MY DRIVEWAY, IT WILL NOT START OR EVEN TURN OVER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2014 CHEVROLET CRUZE. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE PULLED TO THE LEFT AND ALL THE INSTRUMENT PANEL INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE HEAD, FRACTURED RIBS ON THE LEFT SIDE, AND INJURIES TO THE LEFT LEG AND ARM. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A RECOVERY COMPANY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS CONSIDERED A TOTAL LOSS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, THE ENGINE STARTED REVVING EXTREMELY HIGH REGARDLESS OF THE GEAR I WAS IN. WE SAFELY GOT OUR SELVES OFF THE FREEWAY AND IN TO REGULAR STREET TRAFFIC. AFTER COASTING OFF THE RAMP INTO TRAFFIC, I WAS ABLE TO PUT IT IN 1ST AND DRIVE ABOUT. 3 MILES. WE STOPPED FOR A STOP LIGHT IN THE CENTER LANE ON A SLIGHT INCLINE. AND THEN THE CLUTCH HAD COMPLETELY FAILED. WHEN I TRIED TO MOVE I FIRST, THE CAR REVVED BUT ROLLED BACKWARD. NO PREVIOUS WARNING SIGNS. THE ISSUE ISN'T THE CLUTCH FAILURE, BUT THE LOW MILAGE OF THE CLUTCH FAILURE, 67000. WE WERE TOLD IT'S DUE TO WEAR AND TEAR, BUT THAT'S CONCERNING TO EXPERIENCE THIS ISSUE AT A RELATIVELY LOW MILEAGE.
VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING SEVERE ISSUES WITH THE POWER WHEN VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS I HAVE BEEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE VEHICLE WILL ALL OF A SUDDEN, WITHOUT WARNING SHUT DOWN MULTIPLE ESSENTIAL COMPONENTS - INCLUDING POWER STEERING, HEADLIGHTS, RADIO WILL GO IN AND OUT, DISPLAY SCREEN WILL GO OFF, TURN SIGNALS, ETC. PRETTY MUCH ANYTHING THAT TAKES POWER WILL FAIL. HOWEVER THE VEHICLE WILL STILL REMAIN ON (AND NOT IN AUX MODE) AND ACCELERATION WILL NOT BE AFFECTED. AROUND THE TIME THAT THESE ISSUES BEGAN A WARNING LIGHT FOR STABILITRACK CAME ON THE DASH BOARD AND SEVERAL MORE WARNING LIGHTS HAVE COME ON SINCE. THIS HAS OCCURRED WHEN VEHICLE HAS BEEN ON CITY STREETS AND FREEWAY INCLUDING AS I HAVE BEEN NEGATING A TURN. THIS HAS CAUSED AN EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD AS I HAVE ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE AND RUN OFF THE ROAD OR HIT OTHER VEHICLES HEAD ON DURING THE FAILURE.
UNFORTUNATELY, THIS IS THE 3RD TIME THAT MY 2014 CHEVY CRUZE HAS THIS ISSUE. MY ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON WHILE THE STABILOCK SERVICE FLASHES ON THE DASHBOARD; CAR JERKS WHILE EITHER IDLE AND/OR STOPPED; A LOUD SQUEAKING NOISE FROM UNDER THE HOOD (ALL THESE ISSUES ALWAYS START AT THE SAME TIME!!). I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO CHEVY DEALERSHIPS AND THEY HAVE (SUPPOSEDLY) REPLACED THE SAME PART - SHAM COVER (ACCORDING TO MY INVOICES). I TOTALLY DON'T GET WHY THIS IS A NOT A RECALL ISSUE. IT IS VERY FRUSTRATING TO TAKE MY CAR IN FOR THE SAME ISSUE, AND OF COURSE, NOW THAT THE WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED, I'M SURE IT WILL BE EVEN MORE COSTLY.... WHICH I REALLY THINK IT WILL BE THE SAME THING! (OF COURSE, I'M NOT A MECHANIC, BUT IF I'M TAKING MY CAR IN FOR THE SAME REASON AND THEY DIAGNOSE IT AND REPAIR THAT SAME PART; I'M BEGINNING TO WONDER.... WHY EVEN CHARGE ME FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WHEN YOUR CHANCES ARE IT'S THE SAME ISSUE!!) IS THIS A PART THAT ONLY LAST A MAXIMUM OF SO MANY MILES? I PURCHASED THE CAR IN 3/2015; AND THE 1ST TIME I RECEIVED SERVICE FOR THIS ISSUE WAS 6/29/2015, AND THEN AGAIN 2/24/2017. I'M SO CONFUSED!!! :( COME ON GM ~ HELP US OUT PLEASE!!
TAKATA RECALL FOR AIRBAGS ON A 2014 CHEVY CRUZE. AIR BAG FAILED TO FINISH DEPLOYMENT AFTER BEING TRIGGERED. I PASSED OUT FROM SHOCK DIRECTLY AFTER IMPACT AND WOKE UP HUNG OVER MY SEAT BELT WITH THE STEERING WHEEL SMOKING AND SPITTING SOOT ALL OVER THE DASH. THERE WAS ALSO A SIGN THAT DISPLAYED ON THE SPEEDOMETER RECOMMENDING AN AIRBAG SERVICE. AFTER POLICE ARRIVED, IT WAS OBVIOUS TO THEM THAT THE AIRBAG HAD MADE AN ATTEMPT TO DEPLOY BUT FAILED TO EVEN POP OUT OF THE STEERING WHEEL.
THE CAR HAS LESS THAN 40,000 MILES ON IT AND THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER NEEDS REPLACED? THE CHEVY GARAGE FOLKS TOLD MY 23 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER IT COULD BREAK SUDDENLY WHILE ACCELERATING. THEY SAID IT WAS SHOT. NEXT, THEY GAVE HER A QUOTE OF OVER $900 TO REPLACE IT. THEY SAID THEIR COST WAS $750. NOT SURE WHICH IS MORE DANGEROUS, THE BAD CATALYTIC CONVERTER OR THE CHEVY GARAGE.
VEHICLE HESITATES WHEN MERGING ONTO HIGHWAY TRAFFIC. THIS BEGAN HAPPENING AFTER I OWNED THE CAR FOR MORE THAN 3 YEARS WITHOUT SIMILAR INCIDENTS. ITS DANGEROUS BECAUSE JUST WHEN YOU NEED POWER TO MERGE, THE POWER DIPS INSTEAD WHICH IS POTENTIALLY LIKELY TO END IN BEING REAR-ENDED. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED. THEY KEPT IT FOUR DAYS AND STATED THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG BECAUSE THEY FOUND NO CODES. THEY STATE IT MIGHT BE DUE TO "TURBO LAG" WHICH IS NORMAL. IT IS NOT NORMAL AS I HAVE OWNED THE CAR ALMOST 4 YEARS BEFORE THIS BEGAN HAPPENING.
DRIVER SIDE WIPER MALFUNCTIONS CAUSING VEHICLE TO HAVE NO WIPER FUNCTION ON DRIVER SIDE. MALFUNCTION OCCURRED AT APRX 80K MILES WHILE PARKED WITH WIPERS ON. WIPER BUSHING FAILS CAUSING LINKAGE TO UNATTACH LEAVING WIPER MOTIONLESS. THIS IS A SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE CAUSED BY POOR PARTS DESIGN/QUALITY OR INSTALLATION.
WHEN DRIVING 55 MPH THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME STARTED TO STOP TO MAKE A TURN, THE BRAKES WENT TO THE FLOOR AND I REAR ENDED THE TRUCK IN FRONT OF ME.
I GOT IN A MAJOR ACCIDENT AND END UP HAVING BROKEN BONES IN MY FACE AND NECK AND BACK PROBLEMS BECAUSE OF MY AIR BAGS NOT COMING OUT. I WAS ON A CITY STREET IN INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA DOWNTOWN. THIS HAS CAUSE I MAJOR BURDEN ON ME BECAUSE NOT BEING ABLE TO WORK AND GOING BACK AND FOURTH TO DIFFERENT DOCTORS APPOINTMENTS.
THIS CAR HAS MANY PROBLEMS. I AM SURPRISED IT HAS NO RECALLS. THE PROBLEMS START TWO YEARS AGO. THE VALVE COVER STARTED LEAKING. OIL WAS EVERYWHERE. GOT THAT REPLACED BUT IT HAPPENED AGAIN, AND THEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN. APPARENTLY THE PCV VALVE IS BUILT INTO THE VALVE COVER. WE ARE ABOUT TO BE ON OUR 4TH VALVE COVER. IT'S CURRENTLY INOPERABLE. THE WATER PUMP HAD TO BE REPLACED, THE WHOLE ENGINE HAD TO BE REPLACED. THIS CAR IS A MONEY PIT, AND ANYONE WHO HAS EVER BOUGHT IT SHOULD BE REFUNDED FOR REAL. IT'S A PIECE OF CRAP AND HAS HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS, AND CAUSES NOTHING BUT STRESS. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CHEVY EVER AGAIN.
CAR WAS STOLEN LEFT FRONT END WAS DAMAGE. PAID 2500 FOR REPAIR. PICK UP CAR 07/27/2018. THE WAS IN THE SHOP 03/2018. THEY THE CAR BACK TO ME NO AIR BAGS. NO FRONT FOR COVER ON THE STERRING WHEEL. THEY WANT TO PAY ANOTHER 279.00 FOR AIR BAGS. NOW THEIR A SOUND COMING FROM UNDER THE CAR. I JUST DON'T HAVE EXTRA MONEY INSURANCE DID PAY OFF BECAUSE I WAS NOT DRIVING THE CAR. THE CAR DO DRIVE THE SAME IT KEEP CUTTING OFF. THE SPEED IS 20 TO 40 IT WONTT GO ANY HIGHER AND THE ENGINE IS NOT SHUTTING OFF. THE IS TRYING TO ZOOM FAST ON ITS ON. IAM REALLY SCARE.
CAR WILL TURN OFF WHILE DRIVING. IVE OWNED THIS CAR FOR A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AND JUST STARTED DOING THIS 5 TIMES IN THE LAST 2 WEEKS. THIS HAS HAPPENED WHILE ON HIGHWAY IN TRAFFIC, TWICE IN TOWN IN TRAFFIC. THE CAR IS IN MOTION ON THE HIGWAY WHEN THIS HAPPENED, IT ALSO HAS HAPPENED TURNING ONTO HIGWAY WITH OTHER CARS BEHIND ME I ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED BY A CAR BEHIND ME CAUSE THE CAR LOST POWER! IT HAS ALSO TURN ITSELF OFF AND ON IN PARK. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED BEFORE THERE IS A MAJOR ACCIDENT THAT CAUSES BODLY HARM!!! THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARRD!!! I BOUGHT EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THIS CAR. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALERSHIP JULY 31ST TO FIND THE ISSUE. I ALSO HAVE CONTACTED GM. I KNOW THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR IGNITION PROBLEMS CONCERNING THIS VEHILCE IN 2014, WHEN YOU PULL UP MY VIN THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL. I AM VERY CONCERNED FOR MY SAFTY IN THIS CAR. I HAVE HAD A FRIEND THAT HAS A CODE READER LOOK AND IT SAID THERE IS AN ENGINE ISSUE???? I DO NOT WANT TO HAVE TO GET AN ATTORNEY INVOLVED BUT I WILL IF THIS BECOMES AN ISSUE. THIS IS VERY SCARY!!!!
TRUNK HAS A BUTTON TO RELEASE AND OPEN IT, THE DESIGN BY GM HAS CAUSED MOISTURE TO EASILY GET INSIDE, THE OTHER ISSUE IS HOW THE BUTTONS ARE INSTALLED, MINE HAD A STRONG EPOXY SO IT MADE THE REPAIR IMPOSSIBLE WITH OUT A NEW TRIM PIECE. IF YOU LOOK AT THE CHEVY CRUZE IT IS THE PIECE THAT HAS THE LICENSE PLATE LIGHTS, IN THE MIDDLE IS THE TRUNK BUTTON, I DID CALL GM AND THEY DIDN'T SEEM TO CARE, THIS TRUNK ISSUE HAS BEEN AN ONGOING NUISANCE FOR ALOT OF CONSUMERS. WHEN HOT, THE ENGINE HESITATES WHEN ACCELERATING. WE LIVE IN A METROPOLITAN AREA AND WHEN ENTERING AN EXPRESSWAY THE CAR HESITATES WHEN MERGING INTO TRAFFIC. VERY DANGEROUS AND SCARY SITUATION! THIS HAPPENS QUITE OFTEN. THE GM SERVICE TECH'S SAY THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. GRANT YOU SOMETHINGS WRONG!
When going from park or a complete stop, the vehicle violently slams into gear and catastrophic failure is only around the corner. It also shifts like this when going back and forth between 4th and 5th. Doing a full trans flush seems to make the issue slightly better but always comes back to being violent again. After speaking with multiple mechanics they all recommend driving it till the trans fails or buying a new car. My car has 213k highway miles on it and the issue has been there since 100k miles (about 3 years ago). Another odd thing about it is that if you shift into manual mode while coasting to a stop and then shifting back to automatic after you exit the complete stop, it avoids the hard slam. The vehicle also shifts fine in manual mode from 4th to 5th. After doing research in group forums ( www.cruzetalk.com ) there are a ton of threads with this EXACT issue.

THE CONTACT PLANNED ON TAKING THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND SUGGESTING TAKING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000.
FOR A LITTLE OVER A YEAR, I HAVE EXPERIENCED THE RADIO SHUTTING OFF AND ON, STABILITRAK SHOWING AS NEEDING SERVICE, THE CAR SHUDDERING, AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON. I HAVE BROUGHT THE CAR INTO A MECHANIC 3 TIMES TO DETERMINE WHAT MAY BE CAUSING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON, AND 3 TIMES THE COMPUTER SAYS AIR INTAKE. I HAVE HAD JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING CHANGED, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT GOES OFF, I DRIVE FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES, AND IT COMES BACK ON. OVER $700.00 IN REPLACEMENT PARTS AND LABOR, AND STILL THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. TODAY 7/1/2018, I DROVE DOWN TO HAVE THE OIL CHANGED AND FOR THE FIRST TIME, THE ENGINE LIGHT HAS NOT COME ON, BUT NOW THE CAR DOES NOT WANT TO START AND SOUNDS LIKE THE STARTER OR THE BATTERY IS DYING. THIS IS ABOVE AND BEYOND THE MOST FRUSTRATING CAR PROBLEM I HAVE EVERY HAD, AND I CAN'T SEEM TO FIND ANYONE CAPABLE OF ANSWERING THE PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR. THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS SPRING UP IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE WHILE DRIVING IN TOWN, AND IT SEEMS TO BE OKAY FOR A FEW DAYS IF YOU MESS WITH THE BATTERY CABLES, BUT THEY HAVE ALREADY BEEN REPLACED ONCE AND THE PROBLEM IS BACK!!!

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD JERK AND THE ENGINE WOULD REV WHILE STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN UNKNOWN DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE INTAKE MANIFOLD WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
ANTIFREEZE LEAKS.HAVE HAD CAR INTO SHOP 3 TIMES AND PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN SOLVED
WHILE DRIVING IN LIGHT RAIN AT ROUGHLY 40MPH THE DRIVERS SIDE WIPER STOPPED WORKING. PASSENGER SIDE WIPER STILL WORKS. UPON RESEARCHING IT APPEARS THIS IS A WIDESPREAD SAFETY ISSUE ON THESE VEHICLES. THERE NEEDS TO BE A SAFETY RECALL AS THIS COULD KILL SOMEONE.
I HAVE HAD REPEATED ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THIS CAR. IT STARTED WITH THE RADIO SHUTTING ON & OFF ON ITS OWN. THEN THE STABILITRACK STARTED FLASHING ON. THE FIRST FEW TIMES THAT WAS ALL IT WAS, BUT IN THE FALL OF 2017, THAT SENSOR WOULD COME ON & MY BRAKES & STEERING WERE AFFECTED. IN ADDITION, THE CAR WILL HAVE MOMENTS WHERE IT BLANKS OUT JUST BRIEFLY WHILE DRIVING, USUALLY NOTICED BY THE RADIO GOING OFF & ON. I HAVE ALSO HAD THE KEY GET LOCKED IN THE IGNITION. YESTERDAY, 6/17/18, I WENT TO START MY CAR IN A PARKING LOT & SEVERAL SENSORS CAME UP, BATTERY CHARGING SYSTEM, STABILITRACK, & POWER STEERING. CAR WOULD NOT START, I KEPT SHUTTING OFF THE RADIO, & IT WOULD COME BACK ON. CAR RESTED FOR 2 HOURS & THEN STARTED AGAIN. ONCE DRIVING, THE STEERING WAS NOT RIGHT. TOOK A QUARTER OF A MILE OF DRIVING BEFORE THE STEERING WHEEL DID NOT PULL 1/4 OF THE WAY TO THE LEFT ON ITS OWN. I HAVE TAKEN THIS CAR INTO THE DEALER WITH ALL OF THESE COMPLAINTS EXCEPT THE INCIDENT YESTERDAY. THEIR SOLUTION HAS BEEN NEW BATTERY AND NEW BATTERY CABLES-TWICE. IN THE FALL OF 2017, I MENTIONED SEEING SIMILAR ISSUES ONLINE & THEY DISMISSED IT. I JUST CALLED ABOUT THE 6/17/18 ISSUE & I AM GETTING THE RUN-AROUND FROM THEM.
WHILE TRYING TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC MY VEHICLE ENGINE SPEEDS UP TO 7000 RPM BUT THE CAR ONLY GETS UP TO ABOUT 28 MPH. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN REAR ENDED BECAUSE OF THIS. ALSO I TRIED TO PASS OTHER CARS AT FIRST THE CAR SEEMED AS IT HAD THE POWER TO PASS BUT AS I GOT AT THE SIDE OF THE CAR I WAS PASSING WITH PEDAL ON FLOOR THE TRANSMISSION SEEMED TO LOSE POWER AND DOG DOWN. ALMOST CAUSING ME A HEAD ON COLLISION . ON THE HIGHWAY MY CAR DOESN'T SEEM TO HAVE THE POWER TO PASS CARS UNLESS GOING DOWN HILL. THE CARS ENGINE SPEEDS UP BUT THE TRANSMISSION DO NOT SPEED UP SO IT JUST BURNS MORE GAS. THAT I CAN NOT AFFORD ON DISABILITY.ON JUNE 8 2018 I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO WEIMER CHEVROLET IN MOOREFIELD, WV, THEY TOLD ME EVERYTHING WAS FINE GAVE ME A COPY OF THE VEHICLE INSPECTION THEY DONE. OTHER CRUZE OWNERS SAID THEY HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM I TOLD THEM TO CALL GM THEMSELVES TO LET THEM KNOW OF THIS PROBLEM. I SPOKE TO A MIGUEL AT GM AT CUSTOMER SERVICE, HE TOLD ME THAT A MANAGER WOULD BE IN TOUCH WITH ME .ON JUNE 26 2018, A GM MANAGER CALLED MY CELL PHONE AND ASKED FOR MY ADDRESS , AND A BRIEF EXPLANATION OF THE CARS ISSUES E-MAIL ADDRESS AND THE DEALER INFO. I THEN ON JUNE 28 I GOT A EMAIL FROM A COURTNEY AT GM STATING THAT THEY HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO CONTACT ME. EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE MY HOME / CELL NUMBERS. AND THAT IF THIS MATTER IS RESOLVED DO NOTHING BUT IF NOT TO CALL THEM, I TRIED TO AND GOT NO ANSWER SO ALSO SENT A REPLY TO THEIR E-MAIL, STATING THAT THIS MATTER HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED AND HOW DANGEROUS THESE CARS ARE. ONCE AGAIN NO RESPONSE FROM GM AS OF JULY 17. I FEEL AS THOUGH GM DOES NOT CARE ABOUT MY FAMILIES OR MY SAFETY IN THIS MATTER WITH THEIR LACK OF RESPONSE . I 'M NOT SURE HOW MANY OTHERS HAVE REPORTED TO GM WITH THEIR ISSUES BUT I KNOW MINE IS FALLING THROUGH THE CRACKS. SO IF YOU CAN PLEASE HELP WITH THIS ISSUE I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT.
I WAS INVOLVED IN A REAR-END COLLISION PUSHING ME INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE ON 06-06-18. THE HEADLINER AND DRIVERS SEAT BEGAN TO SMOKE, FILLING THE CAR. THE SMOKE WAS WHITE, GREY, AND SMELLED OF SULPHUR. IN ADDITION, THE "SERVICE AIRBAG" LIGHT APPEARED ON THE INFORMATION DISPLAY, THE FLASHERS/HAZARDS, CAME ON AUTOMATICALLY, AND THE CAR WOULD NOT START AND HAD TO BE TOWED. THE VEHICLE WAS SLOWING, ALMOST TO A STOP BEFORE BEING HIT. OHIO HIGHWAY PATROL ACCIDENT # 67-0834-67 5 VEHICLES INVOLVED. UNABLE TO UPLOAD.
I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ON THE FREEWAY AND NOTICED THE CAR WAS SWAYING AND WOBBLING ... I HAD GOT 4 BRAND NEW TIRES ABOUT A MONTH AND A HALF AGO SO I DIDN'T THINK IT WAS THAT. THE NEXT DAY, SAME THING DRIVING TO WORK BUT THIS TIME IN ADDITION TO SWAYING, IT WAS JERKING AND LOOSING POWER OR PUNCH AT TIMES WHEN PRESSING ON THE ACCELERATOR. THE FOLLOWING DAY, SAME THING AGAIN, THIS TIME THERE WAS A WARNING LIGHT CHECK STABILITY TRAK, SOMETHING LIKE THAT. I ALSO NOTICED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. IT ALSO BEGAN JERKING EVEN MORE AND WHEN I PARKED IT, THE FAN WAS VERY LOUD AND RUNNING EVEN THOUGH THE CAR WAS NOT OVERHEATED. WHEN DRIVING HOME AND STOPPING AT LIGHTS, MY CAR JERKED MORE AND ONLY STOPPED TEMPORARILY WHE N IN PARKED OR IF I PRESSED ON THE GAS. I AM CONCERNED THE RECALLS FOR MY CAR WAS NEVER ADDRESSED, EVEN THOUGH IT IS "SAYING" NO RECALLS FOR MY VIN. WHAT SHOULD I DO? I AM NOT SURE I SHOULD DRIVE IT FAR BASED ON WHAT OTHERS HAVE SAID HAPPENED TO THEM WHEN DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY OR LOOSING CONTROL THRU AN INTERSECTION.

THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. THE 1ST TIME I NEARLY RAN INTO A PARKED VEHICLE WHILE TURNING INTO A NEIGHBORHOOD.
AFTER THE VEHICLE STARTED WITH CLUTCH FULLY DEPRESSED, I PUT THE CAR INTO 1ST GEAR IT LUNGED FORWARD ABOUT AN INCH AND NOW IT WILL NOT ENGAGE IN ANY GEAR. CAR ONLY HAS 53,000 MILES ON IT. I CAN LET THE CLUTCH OUT COMPLETELY WHILE IN GEAR AND LET OFF THE BREAK AND THERE SEEMS TO BE ALMOST A GRINDING WHILE DEPRESSING THE CLUTCH, THEN I HAVE THE CLUTCH FULLY LET OUT AND THE CAR GOES NOWHERE.

ALL HAS TO DO WITH ELECTRICAL. NOTICED BROWN RUST ON INSIDE OF DRIVER SIDE BACK WHEEL. PASSENGER FRONT TIRE CONTINUES TO DEFLATE.

MY VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, GOING ABOUT 50-60 MPH. IT STARED DOWN POURING RAIN. MY DRIVER SIDE WINDSHIELD WIPER STOPPED WORKING ALL OF A SUDDEN. IT REMAINED IN THE UP POSITION. SINCE MY SAFETY WAS INVOLVED, I HAD TO LOOK OUT OF THE PASSENGER SIDE SO I COULD SEE. I PULLED OVER AND TRIED TO MOVE IT BACK INTO POSITION, BUT IT HAD ZERO TENSION AND JUST FREELY MOVED. I TRIED TO DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE BY CONNECTING TO A CODE READER BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT GIVE DIAGNOSES CODE. THE MANUFACTURE WASN'T INFORMED NOR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD OCCASIONALLY MAKE A NOISE FROM THE FRONT WHEN THE WARNING LIGHTS APPEAR. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE IS 68,678.
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE USED FROM A DEALERSHIP 27 DAYS AGO. TWO DAYS AGO I WENT TO RESTART CAR AFTER A SHORT DRIVE AND THE CAR DID NOT CRANK, DASH REMAINED BLACK, KEY WAS STUCK IN IGNITION. MY DAUGHTER IN LAW TOLD ME TO POP THE HOOD AND UPON WIGGLING BATTERY CABLES FREED THE KEY FROM STUCK POSITION AND I WAS ABLE TO START THE CAR AND DRIVE HOME. THIS IS WHEN I LEARNED THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME OF OCCURRENCE. I WAS HOSPITALIZED SEVERAL DAYS AFTER PURCHASE AND MY KIDS USED THE CAR. THEY NEGLECTED TO TELL ME TWICE THEY LOST POWER WHILE IN MOTION AND CAR SHUT OFF. THE FIRST TIME WAS WHILE EXITING OFF THE FREEWAY. THE SECOND WAS WHILE MAKING TURN AFTER IDLING AT A RED LIGHT SEVERAL MINUTES. BOTH TIMES THE VEHICLE POWER STEERING CEASED AND STEERING BECAME DIFFICULT. ON ANOTHER OCCASION THEY EXPERIENCED A NO START SIMILAR TO MINE, A SHORT DRIVE, THEN CAR WAS PARKED AND SHUT OFF FOR A SHORT TIME , NO CRANK AT RESTART, BLACK DASH, STUCK KEY. I HAD PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED TO DEALER TECH THAT CAR FAILS TO KEEP CURRENT DATE AND TIME. EACH DAY I NOTE IT HAS REVERTED BACK AGAIN TO THE YEAR 2010 AND AN INCORRECT TIME. A RESET LIKE CLICK IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT SEVERAL MINUTES AFTER TURNING OFF ENGINE IS FREQUENTLY HEARD. RADIO AND DASH LIGHTS HAVE FLASHED WHILE CAR IS IN MOTION ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS NOW.
