Airbag recall Recall Engine knock sensors bad
Odometer Fraud. The contact previously owned a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact stated that a friend was doing research on Facebook Market and discovered that the contact's former vehicle was listed on the website. The contact then discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was sold through a private sale. Upon original sale of the vehicle, the mileage was approximately 330,000 and at the time of searching the vehicle on Facebook Market, the mileage was 123,456.
The contact owns a 1989 Chevrolet C/K2500. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the transmission was slipping. The vehicle was driven back to the residence. The contact’s husband replaced the spark plugs and added transmission fluid. The contact stated that the following day, the vehicle was driving sluggish, and the gear shifter failed to function as intended. While the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact's husband lifted the hood and noticed transmission fluid was leaking out of the transmission line. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with transmission line failure. The contact was informed that the transmission line needed to be replaced. The contact received Manufacturer Recall Notification N930018. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the recall repair was performed. The contact stated that after the recall repair was completed the failure began. The contact stated that the failure did not began until the recall repair was performed. The contact was informed that the transmission line needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that the transmission line would be replaced under warranty. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 300,000.
From the initial report, the driver was over speed limit. However, the airbags DID NOT deploy that could have potentially saved his life.
The contact owns a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 02V178000 (Air Bags); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
Runs weird and windshield is broke
Vehicle regularly stalls while driving, going down hills and any random time at highway speeds, while in traffic, while stopped at traffic controls. This problem happens repeatedly and is apparently related to the “pump mounted driver”, which is prone to failure due to inadequate design for the use and environment. It creates random failures Of the pump to deliver fuel.
Tire size LT245/75R16 While driving on highway at speeds between 55 and 65 mph, front driver's side tire started to vibrate. Cause of vibration was not known at the time. Within 50 miles of driving, the entire tread on the front left tire separated from the tire while traveling at 55 mph. The tire has less than 12,000 miles of wear on it at the time of failure, and the tires were bought new. Control of the vehicle was maintained during tread separation and fortunately the projectile tread did not hit other cars or people. Tire remnants are available for inspection.
Emergency brake keeps engaging Power steering problem, seat belt light stays on even when buckled. Headlights are dim
My husband just had a wreck last night. His gas pedals got stuck causing him to lose control of the truck and the truck to spend around in the middle of the street. It hit another car and a telephone pole before jumping the curb and landing in a field. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY ON ANY PARTS OF THE TRUCK THAT WAS IMPACTED BY THE WRECK. Both sides of the truck are completely smashed in and both windshields have been busted out. My husband actually came of the windshield of the truck where the Airbag should have deployed.
While driving home from work, while braking for a stoplight, the brake pedal suddenly went soft. Using an abundance of caution, i drove slowly home, though pumping brakes was required even when driving 5 mph. When i made it home, it was obvious there had been a catastrophic brake line failure, as fluid trailed across my driveway and pooled under my truck. On closer inspection, it's amazing how corroded all visible brake lines were. This failure could have happened at speed and would likely have resulted in a crash. I am appalled these have not been recalled.

The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who declined to repair the vehicle. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 174,000 Parts distribution disconnect.
STEERING LOCKED UP BRAKE QUIT WORKING. IN MOTION
MY SON FELL ASLEEP WHILE DRIVING AND HIT A TREE AND NONE OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. HE HAD HIS SEATBELT ON HOWEVER I DON'T THINK IT WORKED PROPERLY EITHER DUE TO HIS CHIN HIT THE STEERING WHEEL AND HEAD HIT THE WINDSHIELD. HE PUSHED THE ENTIRE STEERING COLUMN INTO THE DASH ABOUT 4-5 INCHES AND COULDN'T EVEN MOVE THE SHIFTER ON THE COLUMN. THE TRUCK IS TOTALED AND THERE IS MAJOR DAMAGE TO THE ENTIRE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE AS HE HIT THE TREE HEAD ON BUT TOWARD THE PASSENGER SIDE. THIS IS A 2000 CHEVY SILVERADO CREW CAB, 4X4, STEPSIDE
STARTED SMELLING GAS FROM UNDER MY TRUCK. LOOKED FOR A LEAK AND COULD NOT LOCATE AT THAT TIME. THEN GOT A CODE PO 457, EVAP LEAK. THEN AFTER DRIVING NOTICED ODOR OF GAS GETTING STRONGER AS TIME WENT ON . CHECKED UNDER THE TRUCK AGAIN AND FOUND GAS SPRAYING FROM THE PRESSURE LINE RIGHT ONTO THE EXHAUST ! HUGE POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD ! AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATION FUEL LINES ARE VERY CORRODED AND NOW COMPROMISED. THIS IS A FIRE BOMB WAITING TO GO !
HELLO, I WAS DRIVING AND ALL OF ALL SUDDEN THE CAR WAS NOT ABLE TO MAKE ANOTHER CHANGE AND I STOPPED AND CHECKED THE FRON OF MY CAR AND NOTICE SOMETHING WAS LEAKING FROM THE ENGINE, AND HAD BEEN TOLD THAT IF THE ENGINE HOT DAMAGE I WOULD HAVE TO HAVE A NEW ONE PUT IN. I COULD ONLY SPPED UP TO 35 MPH
THE ABS BRAKES ACTIVATE ALMOST EVERY TIME I APPLY THE BRAKES. THIS HAPPENS FOR NO REASON.

THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 05V379000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. MY ABS LIGHT COMES ON WHILE DRIVING. AND WHEN I TURN MY TRUCK OFF. THIS HAPPENS ABOUT 3 OR 4 TIMES A DAY
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2000 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 80 MPH, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF A SEMI TRUCK. BOTH THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED ALTHOUGH IT WAS DEACTIVATED VIA THE AIR BAG DEACTIVATION SWITCH LOCATED ON THE LOWER MIDDLE SECTION OF THE DASHBOARD. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER AND LOCAL DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200,000.
BRAKE LINE BURST BELOW DRIVER'S DOOR. WAS ABLE TO STOP WITHOUT CRASHING AS I WAS ONLY MOVING A FEW MILES PER HOUR IN A DRIVEWAY, THOUGH THERE WAS VERY LITTLE BRAKING CAPACITY. I SEE IN A SEARCH THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH SEVERAL YEARS OF GM TRUCKS. GM APPARENTLY ADMITTED THEY USED INFERIOR STEEL FOR BRAKE LINES. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD.
BRAKE LINE UNDER THE CAB BROKE DUE TO RUST. I LIVE IN EAST TENNESSEE IN AN AREA THAT DOES NOT USE EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF SALT ON THE ROADS IN THE WINTER AND ALWAYS TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF MY VEHICLES. I WOULD NOT EXPECT THIS MUCH RUST ON A SAFETY COMPONENT SUCH AS THE BRAKE LINE. WHEN SLOWING TO TURN OFF THE STREET INTO MY DRIVEWAY THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT NEARLY TO THE FLOOR AND THE BRAKES WERE VERY WEAK. THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT CAUSED BY THE LINE RUPTURE. I CALLED THE LOCAL GM DEALERSHIP AND WAS QUOTED IN EXCESS OF $1,000 FOR REPAIR.
TOOK VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE AND INSPECTION AND WAS TOLD FRAME WAS RUSTED AND NO LONGER SAFE TO DRIVE. FRAME FAILURE IS UNACCEPTABLE AND AN EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD. BRAKES LINES HAD ALSO RUSTED OFF PREVIOUS AND REPLACED. VEHICLE ONLY HAS 130,000 MILES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE ABS AUTOMATICALLY ENGAGED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 220,000.
BRAKE LINE CORRODED (FROM OUTSIDE) AND DURING A TRIP HOME FROM WORK, I SUDDENLY HAD NO BRAKES WHEN BRAKE PEDAL WAS APPLIED. I HAD JUST ARRIVED IN MY DRIVEWAY AND WAS TURNING AROUND. I WAS PROBABLY DOING 1 MPH OR LESS AND VEHICLE WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO STOP.
THE GM RECALL CAME OUT IN MAY, 2016, IT IS NOW JANUARY 2018 AND STILL NO REMEDY. THEY HAVE BEEN BUILDING MORE NEW VEHICLES FOR 7 MORE MODEL YEARS, WHAT AIRBAGS ARE THEY USING IN THEM? AND NOW THEY STAND TO GET MILLIONS OF DOLLARS FROM TAKATA. WHO IS HELPING THE CONSUMER HERE? THIS MAKES NO SENSE. THERE NEEDS TO BE AN INVESTIGATION INTO WHY THE AIRBAGS CANNOT BE REPLACED IN A MORE TIMELY MANNER.
ON THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD, THE BOLTS BREAK OFF AT THE HEAD OF THE BOLT WHETHER THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION OR NOT. SOMETIMES THE BOLTS BREAK OFF FLUSH WITH THE MANIFOLD AND SOMETIMES THEY BREAK OFF FLUSH WITH THE HEAD. I PERSONALLY HAVE HAD 6 OUT OF THE 12 BOLTS ON MY ENGINE BREAK OFF. THE FIX IS TO DRILL OUT THE REMAINING PIECE OF BOLT (THREADED PART) AND THEN USE A BOLT EXTRACTOR TO REMOVE THE REMAINING PIECE OF BOLT THAT IS STILL SEIZED IN THE HEAD. WELL, THE MOST COMMON BOLT TO BREAK OFF OUT OF THE 12 MANIFOLD BOLTS IS THE ONE DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE DRIVERS POSITION. UNFORTUNATELY, THAT IS THE HARDEST BOLT TO REMOVE BECAUSE OF IT'S LOCATION. MOST SHOPS I'VE BEEN TO SAY THAT THE TICKING SOUND THAT YOU HEAR ONCE THIS BOLT BREAKS OFF IS A LOOSE LIFTER. THAT IS INCORRECT! THE TICKING SOUND IS ACTUALLY AN EXHAUST LEAK STEMMING FROM, MOST LIKELY, THE BROKEN BOLT DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE DRIVER. THE SOUND GOES AWAY ONCE THE ENGINE WARMS UP BECAUSE OF THE METAL EXPANDING WITH THE TEMPERATURE INCREASE. I HAD 3 MECHANICS UNDER THE HOOD OF MY TRUCK FOR ALMOST 9 HOURS TRYING TO REMOVE THE 6 BOLTS THAT HAD BROKEN ON MY ENGINE. THEY HAD BROKEN EVERY DRILL BIT IN THEIR SHOP (THE SHOP IS A 14 LIFT, 16 BAY SHOP) THAT COULD POSSIBLY BE USED TO DRILL A HOLE FOR THE EXTRACTOR JUST TRYING TO GET A HOLE FOR THE EXTRACTOR TO FIT IN AND THEN THE BOLT EXTRACTOR BROKE OFF IN THE LAST BOLT WHICH HAPPENED TO BE THE ONE DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE DRIVER. THEY HAD THE CROSS MEMBER REMOVED AND WERE PREPARING TO DROP MY ENGINE WHEN I TOLD THEM TO JUST STOP THERE. I COULDN'T AFFORD ANY MORE OF A FIX SINCE I WAS $1,800 DEEP INTO THIS ONE DAY AT THE SHOP AS IT WAS. THIS IS SUCH A COMMON PROBLEM THAT THERE ARE AFTERMARKET CONTRAPTIONS TO BOLT ON AND CINCH THE MANIFOLD DOWN WITH ANOTHER BOLT. THAT ISN'T THE RIGHT THING TO DO. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL AND I SHOULD GET REIMBURSED!
I WENT TO MOVE MY VEHICLE AND WAS ABLE TO BACK UP INTO THE ROAD. AS I WAS COMING BACK DOWN MY DRIVEWAY MY PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND I COULD NOT STOP. LUCKILY I WAS ONLY GOING A COUPLE MILES PER HOUR AND I WAS ABLE TO JAM IT IN PARK BEFORE GOING THROUGH OUR HOUSE. I GOT OUT VERY NERVOUS AND SAW BRAKE FLUID SPRAYING EVERYWHERE.
I JUST HAD TRANSMISSION WORK DONE ON MY TRUCK WHEN IT BURNED THE GEARS UP. MY BRAKES HAVE ALWAYS EITHER WENT COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR BEFORE THEY STOPPED OR LOCKED UP. RIGHT NOW ITS BROKE DOWN DUE TO TOO MANY PROBLEMS FOR ME TO BE ABLE TO FIX BUT HAS ONLY BEEN NOT DRIVEABLE SINCE JULY 2017

EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE WAS EQUIPPED WITH AN AIR BAG ON/OFF SWITCH, WHICH DISABLED THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG FROM DEPLOYING, THE AIR BAG STILL DEPLOYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED FROM THE SCENE TO A&A TOWING SALVAGE YARD AND HAD NOT BEEN DETERMINED WHETHER IT WAS DESTROYED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 292,000.
WHEN I PRESS ON THE BRAKE PETAL, IT WILL GO DOWN TO THE FLOOR AND IF I LET OFF OF PRESSING THE PETAL AND PRESS AGAIN, IT WILL PUSH MY FOOT BACK UP TOWARD ME AND IF I LET OFF AND PRESS AGAIN IT WILL FINALLY COME TO A STOP. IT DOES THE SAME THING ANYWHERE I APPLY THE BRAKE PETAL AND I'M IN MOTION. WHEN I'M IDLE AND PRESS THE PETAL FOR THE FIRST USAGE OF THE DAY, THE PETAL GOES TO THE FLOOR.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE DEALER (GALLES CHEVROLET LOCATED IN ALBUQUERQUE, MN) CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
I AM UNHAPPY THAT GM MADE A RECALL FOR THE PROBLEM MY SILVERADO IS EXHIBITING HOWEVER SINCE I DO NOT LIVE IN THE NEIGHBORING STATE I CANNOT HAVE MY PROBLEM FIXED. I ALSO LIVE IN THE "SALT BELT" BEING IN KANSAS, I LIVE 20 MILES FROM THE STATE OF MO. I AM HAVING THE EXACT PROBLEM AS THE RECALL - 05V379000. I WISH I KNEW WHO I COULD CONTACT TO AID ME IN SOLVING THIS PROBLEM. IT SOUNDS LIKE THIS RESULTS IN A CRASH DUE TO CONSTANT CORROSION. IF YOU LOOK AT STATISTICS OF KANSAS CITY. WE ARE EQUIVALENT TO KANSAS CITY MO. I'M FEELING VERY FRUSTRATED ABOUT THIS.
THE BRAKE LINES RUSTED THROUGH PREMATURELY, RESULTING IN A COMPLETE FAILURE TO STOP THE VEHICLE.
WHEN GOING THE SPEED LIMIT THE TRUCK SEEMS TO WANT TO CROSS OVER LANES JUST BY CROSSING A DIP. IT FEELS FLOATY ON THE ROAD ANOTHER WORDS IT DOESN'T WANT TO STAY IN ITS OWN LANE
MY 2000 CHEVROLET SILVERADO WAS NOT EXPOSED TO WINTER/SALT CONDITIONS FOR THE FIRST FIRST 13 YEARS OF IT'S LIFE. SINCE THEN IT HAS BECOME MY PRIMARY VEHICLE. RECENTLY WHEN I HAD TO "SPIKE" THE BRAKES HARD TO AVOID WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN AN ACCIDENT A BRAKE LINE UNDER THE DRIVERS SEAT AREA RUPTURED DUE TO CORROSION. ONLY THROUGH EVASIVE ACTIONS WAS AN ACCIDENT AVOIDED. REPLACEMENT COSTS FROM A DEALERSHIP IS IN THE $800.00 AREA. WERE STAINLESS STEEL BRAKE LINES INSTALLED DURING MANUFACTURE THIS EXTREMELY INHERENTLY DANGEROUS PROBLEM COULD BE AVOIDED. WHILE I UNDERSTAND THE COSTS ASSOCIATED IN VEHICLE PRODUCTION, THE SMALL INCREASE WOULD BE OFFSET IN LONG TERM SAFETY. MANY VEHICLE SAFETY FEATURES HAVE BEEN MANDATED OVER THE YEARS, CERTAINLY ISSUES CONCERNING BRAKE SYSTEMS MUST FALL UNDER THAT CATEGORY. I AM A LONG TIME COMMERCIAL AIRCRAFT MECHANIC, STAINLESS STEEL LINES WOULD PREVENT THE PROBLEM I ENCOUNTERED. JUDGING FROM INTERNET SITES I'M NOT ALONE IN DEALING WITH THIS CORROSION PROBLEM. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME.

TOOK PICK-UP FOR A DRIVE, WAS 1/2 MILE DOWN ROAD WHEN BRAKES WENT DOWN TO ALMOST NOTHING AND BRAKE FLUID STARTED SPRAYING ON THE BACK WINDOW BETWEEN CAB AND BED OF TRUCK. BARELY MADE IT BACK TO MY HOME AND NERVOUSLY PULLED IN WITH BARELY ENOUGH BRAKING POWER TO STOP. DRIVING ON 2-LINE BLACK TOPPED STRAIGHT ROAD.
BRAKE LINE RUSTED THROUGH CAUSING LOSS OF BRAKING. LUCKILY WAS IN DRIVEWAY WHEN FAILED. FOUND LEAKING METAL BRAKE LINE NEAR THE ABS CONTROL UNIT. OTHERS ARE RUSTED TOO, SO IT IS JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THEY FAIL.
CABLE HOLDING SPARE TIRE UNDERNEATH REAR BED OF TRUCK BROKE AND DROPPED ONTO A CITY STREET WHILE MAKING RIGHT HAND TURN INTO A PARKING LOT.
WHEN DRIVING AND COMING TO ANY STOP ABS ON AND YOU LOSE ALL BRAKES AND YOU JUST ROLL. PUMP THE BRAKES NOTHING HAVES HIT EMERGENCY BRAKE SHUT TRUCK OF AND RESTARTED PROBLEM CONTINUES. SO TRUCK IS PARK UNTIL PROBLEM RESOLVED. *TR

THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 05V161000 (PARKING BRAKE) AND 05V379000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC); HOWEVER, THE DEALER REFUSED TO PERFORM THE REPAIR DUE TO A WHEEL HUB FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 182,000.
WHEN COMING TO A STOP SIGN I APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. I WAS ABLE TO STEER INTO A PARKING LOT AND COASTED TO A STOP. I HAD NO BRAKES FRONT OR REAR. WHEN I STOPPED AT THE PREVIOUS STOP SIGN THE BRAKES WORKED AS USUAL. AFTER HAVING THE PICKUP TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP I WAS TOLD AND SHOWN THAT THE BRAKE LINES AT THE FRAME BEHIND THE LEFT TIRE HAD RUSTED THROUGH. THIS FAILURE CAME WITH NO WARNING AND AT NO TIME DID THE DASH BRAKE LIGHT COME ON.

I OWN A 2000 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 4WD, YESTERDAY AFTERNOON I PULLED INTO MY DRIVEWAY AND WHEN I HIT THE BRAKES I HEARD A "POP" NOISE AND MY BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND A CLOUD OF SMOKE CAME FROM UNDER THE HOOD . I GOT THE TRUCK STOPPED BY PUTTING THE TRANSMISSION IN PARK. I INSPECTED ALL 4 WHEELS LOOKING FOR A LEAK AND FOUND NONE , THEN I SAW A PUDDLE ON THE GROUND UNDER THE DRIVERS DOOR , UPON INSPECTION I SAW THE BRAKE LINES HEAVILY RUSTED AND FLUID LEAKING FROM THEM . I PUSHED THE BRAKE PEDAL WITH MY HAND AND SAW THE FLUID SQUIRT OUT AND SPLASH ON THE EXHAUST PIPE . I HAVE READ ON - LINE THAT THIS IS HAPPENING TO MANY MANY CHEVY TRUCK OWNERS ACROSS THE NATION . I DO NOT USE MY TRUCK IN MUD OR ON THE BEACH AND I DO NOT LIVE IN A STATE WITH HARSH WINTER SALT ISSUES . I LOOKED AT THE BRAKE LINES ON MY TRUCK AND THEY ARE RUSTED IN PLACES NOT THE WHOLE LENGTH AND THIS TO ME LOOKS LIKE A MATERIAL PROBLEM FROM THE MANUFACTURER . I HAD NO WARNING OF THIS PROBLEM , MY BAKE PEDAL WAS FINE RIGHT UP TO THE SECOND THAT LINE BURST AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR . I FEEL THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT COULD CAUSE A DEADLY ACCIDENT AND AS SUCH SHOULD BE ADDRESSED AND REPAIRED BY G.M. AT NO COST TO THE OWNERS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED . I WAS LUCKY I WAS IN MY DRIVEWAY AND NOT ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THIS TOOK PLACE AND MOVING AT A SLOW SPEED.

THE CONTACT APPLIED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND THE VEHICLE STOPPED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. DURING OPERATION OF VEHICLE, POWER BRAKING AND STEERING IS LOST. VEHICLE FAILS TO STOP OR STEER EASILY AND THEREFORE WILL NOT STOP IN SAFE DISTANCE. OCCURS USUALLY AT SLOW SPEEDS BUT INCREASES STOPPING DISTANCE AND REQUIRES EXTREME STRENGTH TO TURN. MAY HAPPEN SEVERAL TIMES DURING SHORT TRIP. VEHICLE HAS HYDRAULIC ASSIST (STEERING PUMP) BRAKE SYSTEM. DEFINITELY UNSAFE AND APPEARS CANADA HAS ALREADY ACTED ON.
LOST BRAKEING DUE TO RUSTED BRAKE LINES. THIS ALMOST CAUSED A ACCIDENT.TRUCK HAS 44,000 MILES AND HAS BEEN GARAGED FOR 14 YEARS THAT I HAVE OWNED.THERE HAS BEEN VERY LITTLE WINTER DRIVING.COST 826.00 DOLLARS TO REPLACE ALL RUSTED BRAKE LINES.THESE LINES WHERE OF FAULTY MATERIAL.
WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM TOWN. I STOPPED AT MY MAIL BOX AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. LUCKILY I ONLY HAD ANOTHER 400 FEET TO MAKE IT HOME. THE P/U IS NOW PARKED, WAITING ON REPAIRS. I HAVE TALKED TO THE PARTS DEPARTMENT AND THEY TELL ME THE BRAKE LINE HAS RUSTED THROUGH AND NEEDS REPLACED. WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD A AUTO MANUFACTURER USE SOMETHING THAT RUST ON SUCH A VITAL PART OF THE VEHICLE. ESPECIALLY THOSE OF US WHO LIVE IN AN AREA WHERE SALT IS USED ON THE HIGHWAYS.
I OWN A 2000 CHEVY SILVERADO TRUCK AND HAD NOT HAD ANY PROBLEM(S) WITH DOORS UNTIL ON AUGUST 18, 2016 THE POWER LOCK MECHANISM FOR THE PASSENGER DOOR STOPPED WORKING. THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR STILL WORKED. I FELT THAT MY KEY TO THE DOORS WOULD ALLOW ACCESS TO THE PASSENGER SIDE BUT IT WOULD NOT OPEN. THE KEY DID WORK ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. THE SLIDE BAR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR ALSO COULD NOT MOVE THUS RENDERING THAT DOOR IN A CONSTANT STATE OF BEING LOCKED. I BECAME VERY CONCERNED THAT A VEHICLE COULD BE MADE WITH POWER LOCKS AND NOT HAVE SOME SYSTEM TO MANUALLY ALLOW THE OPENING OF THE VEHICLE. IF THE VEHICLE WERE IN AN ACCIDENT AND THE ONLY WAY OUT WAS THE PASSENGER DOOR THE OCCUPANT COULD FACE SERIOUS INJURY OR EVEN DEATH. THIS SEEMS TO BE A SEVERE SAFETY RISK. NOW I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE TRUCK FOR FEAR THIS MIGHT HAPPEN ON DRIVER'S SIDE AND I WOULD BE UNABLE TO GET OUT OF TRUCK.
