ON JANUARY 23, 2009, THE #7 INJECTOR HARNESS SHORTED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. ON MARCH 21, 2009, THE SES LIGHT CAME ON AND THE TRUCK SOUNDED DIFFERENT RUNNING, BUT DID NOT LOSE POWER. DIAGNOSTICS SHOWED PROBLEMS WITH THE FUEL INJECTOR MODULE. ON MARCH 22, 2009, THE SES LIGHT CAME ON AND THE TRUCK STARTED RUNNING ROUGH AND LOST ENGINE POWER (JUST LIKE IT DID ON JANUARY 23). THE TRUCK HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP AGAIN. THIS TIME THE #2 FUEL INJECTOR HARNESS HAD SHORTED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. WITH BOTH INCIDENTS, THE FUEL INJECTOR HARNESSES WERE REPLACED WITH A NEW HARNESS THAT HAS A 90 DEGREE PLUG AND LONGER WIRES. THIS IS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY AND COSTS $400+ TO REPLACE EACH ONE. WITHIN 2 MONTHS AND 2500 MILES BOTH THE #2 AND #7 FUEL INJECTOR HARNESSES HAVE SHORTED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 2500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL BINDS AT A SPECIFIC AREA WHEN IT IS TURNED MOSTLY TO THE RIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY CONDUCTED A POWER STEERING PRESSURE TEST AT THE COST OF $90, BUT THEY STILL COULD NOT LOCATE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE CHEVROLET MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY HAVE TO ACCEPT WHATEVER THE DEALER STATED WAS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,600.
JUST BOUGHT MY 2005 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 24 HRS AGO. SPEEDOMETER WENT OUT. READS 120 AT ALL TIMES. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS , ALSO ILLEGAL. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. GM SHOULD HAVE QUALITY PRODUCT ! *TR
ABS LIGHT CAME ON AND FLASHED WHILE DRIVING. IT WENT OFF WHEN VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND SAT FOR SEVERAL HOURS. TWO DAYS LATER, WAS DRIVING AND HEARD A NOISE FROM THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT WHEEL. TOOK VEHICLE INTO A MECHANIC AND DISCOVERED WHEEL BEARING WAS BAD AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE MECHANIC ADVISED ME TO KEEP THE PART DUE TO THE FACT OF THE NUMBER OF CHEVROLETS HE HAS SEEN WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM. MY VEHICLE HAS APPROX. 44,000 MILES. *TR
2005 CHEVROLET SILVERADO SPEEDOMETER MALFUNCTION. SPEEDOMETER SHOWS 120 MPH REGARDLESS OF WHETHER VEHICLE IS STOPPED OR MOVING. GM HAS RECALLED 2003 AND 2004 MODELS BUT REFUSES TO INCLUDE 2005 MODELS. MY LOCAL DEALER QUOTED $700 FOR THE REPAIR. *TR
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD IN MY 2005 CHEVY SILVERADO 2500 HD WHEN I NOTED THE SPEEDOMETER READING >90 MPH (I WAS NOT GOING THAT FAST...TOWING A 5TH WHEEL CAMPER). THE SPEEDOMETER CONTINUED TO MALFUNCTION AND HAS NOT RETURNED TO CORRECT OPERATION SINCE. THERE IS LITTLE DOUBT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND APPARENTLY IS A CONSISTENT PROBLEM WITH MANY 2002-2005 CHEVY VEHICLES. THIS VEHICLE HAS ONLY 36000 MILES ON IT AND HAS NOT BEEN ABUSED. MY SPEEDOMETER IS NOT WORKING. IT IS FROZEN AT 30 MPH. *TR
WHILE BRAKING HARD FOR A TURN I CAME UP ON QUICKLY, AND AS I APPROACHED SLOWER SPEEDS, THE ANTI LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM COMPLETELY RELEASED ALLOWING THE TRUCK TO SURGE FORWARD. I WAS JUST BEGINNING MY TURN AND I BELIEVE THERE WAS A SMALL AMOUNT OF SAND ON THE ROADWAY THAT CAUSED A WHEEL TO SLIDE MOMENTARILY BUT ALL THE BRAKES RELEASED IN A MANNER THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT IF THERE WAS A VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. THE TRUCK MOVED FORWARD FOR A FULL 2 SECONDS PRIOR TO THE BRAKES RE-ENGAGING. THE BRAKES DID NOT IMMEDIATELY REAPPLY AS YOU WOULD EXPECT A PROPERLY WORKING SYSTEM TO BEHAVE. IT WASN'T THE RAPID APPLICATION YOU GET LIKE WHEN YOUR ON ICE. THE CONDITION HAS NOT REPEATED ITSELF TO DATE ALTHOUGH I HAVE NOT TRIED TO RECREATE THE SAME CONDITIONS EITHER. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FAILED. AND HE WAS UNABLE TO READ THE FUEL GAUGE, SPEEDOMETER OR ANY OTHER GAUGE ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WOULD ONLY LAST FOR 80,000 MILES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. WHEN THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, SHE NOTICED THAT THE DASHBOARD PANEL FAILED TO OPERATE PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALERSHIP AND THERE WERE NO PRIOR WARNINGS. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 115000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS, SMOKE EXPELLED FROM THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WITHOUT WARNING. IMMEDIATELY, THE DRIVER PULLED OVER TO INSPECT UNDERNEATH THE HOOD AND DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY. SUDDENLY, FLAMES ERUPTED FROM THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED TO THE SCENE AND EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. A REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE NO PERSONAL INJURIES OR PROPERTY DAMAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED AND TOWED TO A COLLISION CENTER. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE HAS NOT BEEN DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 55,000.

2005 CHEVROLET SILVERADO SPEEDOMETER GOING CRAZY. JUMPING FROM 0-180 MPH GETTING STUCK ON DIFFERENT MPH. SHOULD BE A RECALL NOTICE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DUAL CLIMATE CONTROL ON THE AIR CONDITIONING/ HEATING SYSTEM FAILED ON AN INTERMITTENT BASIS; WHEN HE HAD THE HEAT ON, ONE SIDE WOULD BLOW HOT AIR AND THE OTHER SIDE COLD AIR AND THE SAME FAILURE OCCURRED WHEN THE AIR CONDITIONER WAS ON. HE HAD TO DRIVE ONTO THE EMERGENCY LANE, TURN OFF THE ENGINE, AND RE-START THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER REFUSE TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE SINCE THE WARRANTY WAS NO LONGER VALID. THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR ON THE FLOORBOARD WOULD ALSO FAIL CAUSING THE FAN TO STOP WORKING; THE HEATING SYSTEM/AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM WOULD NOT FUNCTION WITHOUT THE FAN. HE REPLACED THE CONNECTORS AT HIS EXPENSE TWICE AND THE CONNECTOR FAILED AGAIN. HE CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND A REPRESENTATIVE TOLD HIM THAT THEY COULD NOT ASSIST HIM. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 61,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000.
CHEVY HAS A RECALL #05010 ON THE SECONDARY STEERING SHAFT FOR THE 2005 SILVERADO 1500 SERIES TRUCK. MY LOCAL CHEVY DEALER DIAGNOSED MY TRUCK AS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM BUT SINCE THE VIN CODE DID NOT MATCH THEIR RECALL I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. TRUCK HAS 41000 MILES AND HAS 100,000 POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. I CONTACTED CHEVY CORP CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY AGREED TO PAY FOR THE PART BUT NOT THE LABOR.(87.50). TO ME THIS SHOWS CHEVY DOES RECOGNIZE THE PROBLEM BUT NOT WILLING TO OWN UP FOR ALL THE REPAIR COST..THIS I CONSIDER TO UNJUST AND THINK THE SHOULD PAY FOR THE TOTAL REPAIR BECAUSE THE HAVE STATED THIS IS THE SAME PROBLEM WHICH EXITS ON OTHER VEHICLES.. *TR
THE SPEEDOMETER IN MY 2005 CHEVROLET SILVERADO QUIT WORKING, OR WILL REGISTER INACCURATE SPEEDS. MY TRUCK ONLY HAS 54000 MILES ON IT AND I KNOW THAT THEY ARE "EXTENDING" THE COVERAGE ON THE 03-04 MODELS BUT NOT THE 2005'S. THIS FAILURE COULD EASILY CAUSE SPEEDING TICKETS OR WORSE, ACCIDENTS. HOWEVER, AFTER SEARCHING THE INTERNET TO FIX MYSELF, I DISCOVERED THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM AND THERE IS A LAWSUIT PENDING BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM. *TR

NARROWLY AVOIDED 2 LOW SPEED REAR END COLLISIONS WHEN ABS ACTIVATED AT LOW SPEED (LESS THAN 10 MPH) WHEN APPROACHING OTHER STOPPED VEHICLES AT INTERSECTIONS. THE ABS HAS ACTIVATED 6 TIMES, INTERMITTENTLY FOR THE PAST 3 MONTHS. LUCKILY, THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS PRESENT ON THE OTHER 4 OCCASIONS. WEATHER/ROAD CONDITIONS WERE ALWAYS GOOD WITH DRY ROADS. TEMPS. VARIED FROM COLD, <32 DEG. F TO SEASONAL 40-60 DEG. F I HAVE RESEARCHED THE TSB ON THIS ITEM AND IT IS CONSISTENT WITH RECALLS ON EARLIER CHEVROLET MODELS, YET, GM REFUSES TO ISSUE A RECALL ON THIS SAFETY CRITICAL ITEM. DEALER REFUSED TO PAY FOR REPAIRS AS I AM PAST THE WARRANTY PERIOD FOR THIS VEHICLE (41,000+ MILES, MODEL YEAR 2005). PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN CORRECTED YET. *TR
SPEEDOMETER STUCK AT 45MPH AT A STOP, WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY IN A 65-70MPH ZONE THE SPEEDOMETER INCREASE TO 110-120MPH. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE ABS FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT ALMOST STRUCK A CHILD. AFTER FINALLY STOPPING THE VEHICLE, HE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE BRAKE SENSORS FAILED. THE DEALER INSTALLED A TEMPORARY SENSOR TO MAKE SURE THAT WOULD REMEDY THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIRS. HE FOUND A RECALL FOR THE FAILURE, BUT IT DID NOT INCLUDE HIS MODEL YEAR. THE CONTACT BELIEVES THAT THE DESIGN WAS NEVER CHANGED AND THE NEWER MODELS HAVE ALSO BEEN AFFECTED BY THIS DEFECT. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT YET BEEN PERMANENTLY REPAIRED. THE THE CONSUMER STATED THE ABS ACTIVATED AT A LOW SPEED AND THE PEDAL WOULD GO ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. UPDATED 03/19/09*JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER WOULD MALFUNCTION INTERMITTENTLY. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE SPEEDOMETER WOULD INDICATE THAT SHE WAS DRIVING 60 MPH. WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD BE PARKED, THE SPEEDOMETER WOULD INDICATE THAT THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN AT 120 MPH. THE FAILURE WOULD USUALLY CORRECT ITSELF OR RESET AFTER A COUPLE OF HOURS; HOWEVER, IT RECENTLY BECAME STUCK AND FAILED TO RESET. THE DEALER COULD NOT ASSIST BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS OUTSIDE OF THE WARRANTY. THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT BEEN NOTIFIED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 64,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 63,800.
WHEN I WAS DRIVING DOWN INTERSTATE THE TRUCK (2005 2500 HD DIESEL) SUDDENLY STARTED RUNNING ROUGH AND LOST ENGINE POWER. THE SES LIGHT CAME ON. I PULLED TO THE SHOULDER AND TURNED THE TRUCK OFF. WHEN I RESTARTED THE TRUCK THE SES LIGHT STAYED ON, BUT THE TRUCK WOULD RUN. IT WENT ABOUT 2 MORE MILES AND DID THE SAME THING AGAIN. IT HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP. THE #7 INJECTOR HARNESS HAD SHORTED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 CHEVY SILVERADO WITH 38,000 MILES ON IT. THE SOLENOID EVAP VENT WENT AN IT COST ME 171.00 DOLLARS TO REPLACE. TURNS OUT THAT THEY MODIFIED THIS PART BECAUSE THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I DID A SEARCH ON THE INTERNET AN IT TURNS OUT THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE TRUCKS. I THINK CHEVY SHOULD REPLACE THIS FOR FREE. *TR

MY 2005 CHEVROLET SILVERADO HAS A DEFECTIVE SPEEDOMETER. IT STARTED AROUND 45,000 MILES AND ONLY HAPPENED A FEW TIMES. NOW IT HAPPENS ABOUT EVERY OTHER DAY AND THE ONLY WAY TO RESET IT IS TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND TURN IT OFF AND START IT BACK UP. THIS ONLY RESETS IT ABOUT 5MPH EACH TIME I RESTART THE VEHICLE SO I WILL HAVE TO DO IT AS MANY AS 10 TO 15 TIMES TO GET IT BACK TO ZERO. *TR
THE IGNITION LOCK HAS NOT WORKED ON THIS VEHICLE FOR CLOSE TO 5 YEARS. AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE KEY MAY BE REMOVED AT ANY TIME WHILE THE ENGINE IS RUNNING OR BEING DRIVEN. *JS
A/C-HEATER FAN STOPPED WORKING ON 5, THEN 4, THEN STOPPED WORKING ALL TOGETHER. UPON REMOVING THE PLASTIC COVER FOR THE INTERNAL COMPONENTS, I DISCOVERED THAT THE MODULE GOING TO THE FAN AND THE PLUG WERE MELTED TOGETHER. ALSO, THE WIRES ON THE WIRING HARNESS GOING TO THE MODULE WERE MELTED TO THE POINT THAT THE WIRES WERE EXPOSED AND SHORTING ACROSS TO ONE ANOTHER. *TR

I PURCHASED A "NEW" 2005 CHEVY SILVERADO 2500 UTILITY BED WORK TRUCK...THE DEALERSHIP RIPPED ME OFF WITH THE TRADE IN;REFUSED TO APPLY THE CASH BACK AND DOWN PAYMENT ASSISTANCE GM WAS OFFERING-AND WHEN I GOT THE TRUCK HOME,SAW THE INSIDE OF TOOLBOXES WERE RUSTED...THE HEATER BLEW,THE AIRCONDITIONING QUIT WORKING,STEREO/CD PLAYER QUIT,AS WELL...THE DEALER REFUSED TO FIX THE RUST;DESTROYED THE PICS AND SERVICE REPORT REGARDING THE TRUST. THE OIL CAP BLOWS OFF...IT'S BEEN REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES- AND IN JAN 2009,TRUCK KEPT OVERHEATING & BRAKE LIGHTS WENT OUT...DEALER COULD NOT FIND SOURCE OF ENGINE LEAK;AND FAILED TO FIX BRAKE LIGHTS,.THEY STATE IT'S NOT THEIR PROBLEM. THE TRUCK HAS 33,000 MILES ON IT-I EVEN PURCHASED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY-BUT NO ONE CAN OR WILL FIX IT.FILED 2ND COMPLAINT WITH GM-THEY STATE THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT NEVER DOCUMENTED THE ENGINE LEAK/OVERHEATING/BRAKE PROBLEM !I TOOK THE TRUCK BACK TO DEALER DAY AFTER SIGNED THE CONTRACT-TRIED TO GET IT RESOLVED-THEY HID FROM ME!!!!AND SENT MY TRADE IN TO AUCTION...THEY ALSO FAILED TO INFORM ME OF MY 3 DAY RIGHT TO RESCIND;SO I CANCELED THE LOAN ON JAN.2009-UNDER THE TILA LAW. I HAVE A 2005 CHEVY SILVERADO 1500 THE SPEEDOMETER SHOWS IT IS GOING 120 MPH SITTING AT A STOP SIGN. FROM ONLINE RESEARCH I FOUND THAT THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM, SINCE 2003. MY TRUCK HAS 38,720 MILES ON IT CURRENTLY. IT CREATES AN UNSAFE CONDITION, SINCE I CAN NOT DETERMINE THE CORRECT VEHICLE SPEED. *TR

THE FOLLOWING DAY, SHE NOTICED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER WAS STILL REGISTERING 128 MPH AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT RUNNING. THE CONTACT HAS AN APPOINTMENT AT HER LOCAL DEALER FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE INSPECTED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS ADVISED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT NO COMPENSATION WOULD BE MADE BECAUSE THERE WERE NO CURRENT RECALLS FOR THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 35,200.

OIL PRESSURE GAUGE WOULD WORK SOMETIMES, AND SOMETIMES IT DIDN'T. EVENTUALLY THE GAUGE COMPLETELY QUIT WORKING. *TR
THE INSTRUMENT PANEL IS DEFECTIVE. I CONTACTED GM WHEN IT FIRST HAPPENED AND THEY SAID THEY KNEW THEY HAD A PROBLEM AND WOULD NOTIFY ME WHEN THEY HAD A RECALL. BUT I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF A RECALL OR THEM REPLACING THE PARTS. WHEN I STARTED CHECKING THEY SAID THAT I HAD MISSED THE RECALL. NOW THEY WILL NOT FIX IT. I HAD TO PAY TO HAVE IT PUT ON A COMPUTER AT AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WAS A FACTORY DEFECT BUT GM WILL NOT FIX MY TRUCK.. THE DEALER SAID THAT IT WOULD COST APPROXIMATELY $350.00 TO REPAIR IT. GM HAS OFFERED ME A $2000.00 DISCOUNT ON A NEW TRUCK, BUT WHY WOULD I WANT TO PURCHASE SOMETHING THAT THE MANUFACTURE WILL NOT STAND BEHIND. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, SHE WOULD HEAR A LOUD ABNORMAL NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE THEY ADVISED HER THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE HUB FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, WHEN DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS AND COMPLETING TURNS, THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD SEIZE AND THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO MANEUVER THE STEERING WHEEL. THERE WAS ALSO A LOUD GRINDING NOISE WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THEY ADVISED HER THAT THE POWER STEERING BOX FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED HER THAT THE VEHICLE HAD NO EXISTING RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 72,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.
I WAS DRIVING TO THE STORE AND WHEN I LOOKER AT MY SPEEDOMETER I WAS DOING 110MPH AND WHEN I CAME TO A STOP IT DISPLAYED 60MPH THAT HAPPENED 12/31/08 AT 70,000 MILES. SO FAR MY PROBLEMS WITH MY 2005 SILVERADO AT 20,000 MILES I HAD THE STEERING WHEEL CLUMP FIXED BY PACKING IT WITH GREASE NOW THE PROBLEM IS BACK,AT 60,000 MILES MY FUEL PUMP FAILED ON A ROAD TRIP AFTER I STARTED TO FILL HESITATION LIKE STARVING FOR GAS- COST$ 700.00, AT 65,000 MILES THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER WAS PLUGGED UP THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND WOULD BLINK AND WOULD HESITATE REALLY BAD WHEN YOU WOULD PUNCH IT INTO PASSING GEAR. IT DIDN'T COST ME ANYTHING BECAUSE OF THE EMISSION LAW 70,000 OR 7YRS,AND IT JUST TURNED OVER 70,000. BUT I STILL LOVE MY TRUCK AND I ALWAYS DRIVE A CHEVY. THAT FUEL PUMP COULD BE FIXED EASY IF THEY WOULD PUT A ACCESS DOOR IN THE TRUCK BED BECAUSE GM FUEL PUMPS ARE JUNK, SAME THING HAPPENED TO MY CHEVY ASTRO. *TR
MY 2005 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 WITH LESS THAN 70,000 MILES MY TRANSMISSION WENT OUT, IT STARTED WITH A LITTLE SLIP THEN WORKED FINE BUT THE NEXT WEEK IT WENT OUT COMPLETELY. THE TRANSMISSION WAS FULL OF FLUID AND NEVER LEAKED. *TR
DRIVING HOME ON THE HIGHWAY THE LEFT REAR WHEEL BECAME DETACHED FROM THE AXLE AND HUB ASSEMBLY. THE TIRE AND WHEEL ASSEMBLY ROLLED AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO LOSE TRACTION AND CRASH INTO THE MEDIAN OF THE HIGHWAY AND SKID TO A HALT. COMPLETELY TORE APART THE DRIVER SIDE REAR SUSPENSION AND BRAKE ASSEMBLY AS WELL AS CONSIDERABLE BODY DAMAGE TO THE REAR QUARTER PANEL, REAR BUMPER, AND TOW HITCH. VEHICLE HAS ONLY LIGHT DUTY USE, MOSTLY COMMUTER MILES, WITH GOOD TIRES, EXCELLENT MAINTENANCE RECORDS, AND LESS THAN 39,000 , JUST OUT OF WARRANTY. *TR
MY 2005 SILVERADO Z71 HAS A LOUD GRINDING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL WHEN IT IS IN 4 WHEEL DRIVE. THIS CAR HAS BEEN SERVICED REGULARLY,HOWEVER I HAVE ONLY HAD THIS VEHICLE IN 4WHEEL DRIVE 5 TIMES SINCE I HAVE OWNED IT(NEW). THE POTENTIAL REPAIR IS IN EXCESS OF $1000.00, BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT IT IS IN THE FRONT TRANSFER CASE BECAUSE THE NOISE IS NOT THERE IN 2 WHEEL DRIVE. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THEY HAD NEVER BEFORE SEEN THIS TYPE OF FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY WOULD CALL THE CONTACT REGARDING THE ISSUE; HOWEVER, HE HAS NOT YET RECEIVED A RESPONSE. THE DEALER CURRENTLY HAS THE VEHICLE AND WILL NOT RELEASE IT UNTIL THE CONTACT PAYS FOR THE REPAIR WORK. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 88,075.
MY SPEEDOMETER READS ABOUT 20 MPH FASTER THAN I'M ACTUALLY DRIVING, AND READS 20 -25 MPH WHEN AT A DEAD STOP. I KNOW THIS WAS A WARRANTY FIXABLE ITEM ON THE 03 AND 04 MODELS, WHY NOT ON THE 05'S? *TR

SPEEDOMETER WORKED INTERMITTENTLY FOR PAST YEAR AND NOW HAS QUIT COMPLETELY. IT REGISTERS 120+. GM IS REPLACING SPEEDOMETERS WITH THIS PROBLEM UP TO 70-80K MILES I HAVE 92,000 AND HAVE BEEN TOLD IT IS NOT COVERED, AFTER SEARCHING THE INTERNET IT SEEMS THAT THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AND MULTIPLE INCIDENTS OF 2003-2005 GM VEHICLES WITH THIS PROBLEM. *TR
