Engine failed while driving down the road. There was not prior warning signs to this issue. Vehicle was unable to accelerate. The safety of myself and husband were put a risk as we were traveling on an Interstate 12 in Baton Rouge, LA. The vehicle was inspected by Pine Belt Chevy and the cause identified as Camshaft and lifters failed in the engine causing a sudden deacceleration.
The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated while driving 5 MPH in the driveway, the vehicle stopped and stalled. The vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who determined that the fuel pump control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact called the local dealer and was informed that there were no associated recalls. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and confirmed that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V739000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.
The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled and lost motive power. The vehicle was started; however, the vehicle failed to start as intended. The contact stated that there was no option to shift the gear shifter into neutral. In addition, the contact stated that the failure occurred while the family including small children, were inside the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failed fuel pump power control module. The contact was informed that the fuel pump power control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was made aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V739000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 32,334.
Driving at 35 MPH and the engine cutout and stopped on 8 November 2024. I was able to pull over safely as I was on Vandenberg Space Force Base, but at highway speeds in traffic this would have been very dangerous without power. The local GM dealership at Lompoc, CA confirmed the fuel pump control module failed, which caused the loss of engine power. There was a recall for the 2021 Tahoe fuel pump control module, but my VIN was not included in this recall. Currently the fuel pump module is not in stock and GM has no estimation for when the part would be recieved
2021 Chevrolet Tahoe Engine began misfiring and check engine light and ESC warning indicators displayed as I was driving. I pulled over and shut off vehicle, read manual and restarted engine. Same problems occurred, so I drove to Chevrolet dealer which was a mile away. The advisors said I shouldn’t drive it on the expressway or any further since engine had known problems that GM was aware of and it would blow up. Scans showed P0300 & P0305 for Cylinder 5 misfire. Major Repair included replacement of all lifters and push rods on both banks and the camshaft taking 17 days. This engine should have a GM Recall due to its severity. I was told the engine usually blows up before the warranty period is over and GM would just fix it. Unfortunately for me, my engine failed after full warranty and while I was traveling out of state to a family wedding, costly me directly. GM did pay half of the cost of repair which indicates admitting fault. The major safety concern is when an engine blows up and the driver cannot control the vehicle causing accidents or fire (and being stranded). There were No previous indications or symptoms of engine failure prior to date the problem occurred. Police departments in Illinois have had the same problem with this engine and their entire Tahoe fleet needed a new / repaired engine. This is an unacceptable action by GM to just wait for the problem to occur instead of proactively recalling the engine for repair.
The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the brakes failed to function as intended. In addition, the contact noticed a grinding sound and several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with brake master cylinder failure. The contact was informed that the brake master cylinder needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the brake master cylinder had been replaced two times since October 2024 and needed to be replaced a third time. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The contact was provided a monetary discount towards the cost of the repair. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000.
The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while cold starting the vehicle, there was an abnormal gasoline odor inside the cabin from the vehicle. The contact stated that the odor was stronger while the heater was activated. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP) was cracked and leaking gasoline. The contact was informed that the high-pressure fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 51,264.
The HVAC blend/mode door actuator has melted, causing a fire hazard.
I was stranded and had to have my vehicle towed after the fuel pump control module failed.
My vehicle is experiencing the same issue with the Third Row Headrests as outlined in a prior service bulletin (N202316750) for the same model year and make vehicle. My VIN number was not included in the bulletin, but I believe it should have been. The passenger side third row headrest will no longer stay up when the seat is engaged.
I was driving the vehicle, exiting the parking lot when the engine and all electrical components turned off. This could have easily caused and accident as there were multiple vehicles that had to go around me while I tried to restart the vehicle. The engine would crank but not start up and left me stranded in the middle of the road AND in the middle of two lanes. When I finally got the vehicle towed several days later (which was not easy because in order to put the transmission in neutral without the engine being on, a special tool is needed) I took it to the dealership. They confirmed it was the fuel controller that went bad for the second time. The first time the vehicle was stuck in my garage at home with the same symptoms. They apparently replaced it with another faulty part that is a ticking time bomb. I have no faith that this won't happen again.
Engine would not start. When pressing the start button, engine would turn over but would only rough idle for a few moments then turn off. Called garage and had vehicle towed. Mechanic advised computer showed defective fuel pump power control module. Mechanic advised GM has recall N212332040 for defective fuel pump power control module but my VIN is not included. Mechanic ordered fuel pump power control module from GM and replaced on my vehicle. This corrected the problem. I am requesting my VIN to be added to the recall and GM to pay for the part, labor and towing.
Transmission control module failed. I was driving at about 40 mph on a 4 lane street and it begin to feel like something was pulling the steering wheel to the left and I could not control the speed. I then pulled off into a parking lot and was facing a drainage ditch and needed to back the car into a space out of the way, it would not go into reverse. My husband met with me and was able to drive it forward to drive it to a dealership. The diagnosis was a failed transmission control module that cost us $2,478.
It’s happened about 10 times since I’ve owned the car but the dealer can’t recreate it so we are out of luck. The vehicle accelerates on its own. Scenario 1…with constant light steady acceleration, it will lurch forward like I’ve stomped on the accelerator a bit, for about a second then go back to my normal input. Scenario 2, same lurch but this time while coming to a stop at a stop sign WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL ONLY. scenario 3…I’ve been using the adaptive cruise control and had it disengaged by braking, coming to a stop, then parking and turning the vehicle off. Then after getting back in and starting up and slowly pulling forward, the cruise control suddenly and abruptly renegages and attempts to accelerate to the last demanded setpoint. Image this scenario pulling out of a spot at a crowded gas station with pedestrians. I almost ran someone the hell over just now at the gas station and I’ve had enough. The dealer won’t do anything and when I called Chevy engineering they put zero effort into it, it was a 20 second phone call stating if it can’t be reproduced at the dealer there’s nothing they can do. This is absolutely completely 100% dangerous and unacceptable
Vehicle has 10,800 miles. The vehicle repeatedly failed to start. Towed to GM dealership. They say the fuel pump has failed. They say it is not covered (beccause my VIN isn't within the recalls that already exist for this exact same problem). The cost is over $1,200. I contacted Chevy corporate and they offered to cover 30%. The dealership is still awaiting the part(s) with no provided delivery date. This could have caused a serious MV accident if it had failed while driving. The vehicle gave no warning of this failure.
This is in addition to complaint # 11621324 The dealer now says it is the FUEL PUMP MODULE that is bad. Same item as on previous recall. They say it will be covered under emission warranty but not the fuel pump. At $1500 for fuel pump. However - they replaced fuel pump before discovering the module issue. They either did not test fuel pump properly, or, fuel pump was not bad, only the module. Or, if bad, the module caused the fuel pump to fail. Either way the fuel pump should be covered under this module recall too as a related cause from the faulty module(s) that were recalled.
While my wife was driving her car going down a slope, Her brake pedal fell to the floor loosing brakes and would not return to normal position for a few minutes. I took the vehicle into the dealership over two weeks ago and they have not been able to re-create the situation that took place while my wife was driving the car and still have not returned the vehicle. My concern is that my wife will not feel comfortable driving the car with our toddler and new born if there is no actual repair.
The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while driving on two occasions at various speeds, the vehicle stalled. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not able to restart. The vehicle was towed a dealer where it was diagnosed that he fuel control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred approximately 10 months later. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 67,438.
The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated while driving 20 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power. The contact was able to pull to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle failed to restart. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the fuel pump control module. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 37,000. The VIN was not available.
The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with fuel pump control module failure. The contact was informed that the fuel pump control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the fuel pump control module was recently replaced prior to the failure reoccurring. In addition, the contact stated that the fuel pump control module was also replaced in 2022. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.
Glow plug issue. Glow plug broke off or appeared burnt when dealership removed. Check engine light illuminated.
In September 2024, our vehicle was unable to be start with engine light on. We were unable to get the car into drive or neutral. We were forced to pay out of pocket to have the car towed to dealer, which it needed to be dragged onto the tow truck. Upon inspection at the dealership we were told it was the fuel pump control module that failed and needed to be replaced. They searched recalls and found none on our vehicle but did comment they are replacing these a lot on same type of vehicle. The part was out of stock & backordered likely due to multiple issues, and took 2 weeks to arrive. Reviewing online many have experienced same issue while driving, luckily, we were not. There is an open recall on this part for many models of the same year and time, but for one reason or another our vehicle is not part of that recall #21V739000 / GM #N212332040. The replacement was covered under warranty but does not cover the tow of almost $300.
Stopped for gas, then proceeded to leave store, the check engine light came on, and car immediately shut off while on the highway going ~25mph. Car would not turn back on, and then lights for fuel machine error started coming on. Car sat there trying to turn on, lights off, and then would say push start button, but nothing happened. Car began to shake and continued to try to turn on, yet nothing happened. Car was towed to home, sat for an hour and then started again, check engine light remains on.
Driving on the I-95 I abruptly lost power driving in the left lane, RPM dropped all the way down and speed was rapidly decreasing. I had to pull over on the shoulder in the most safe manner possible for myself and other drivers on the road; but it was not without any risk. The body of the car was rattling on my way to the shoulder and the car shut off before I could put the car in Park in a safe place. With my hazard lights on I tried restarting the car but the enging would not turnover, the starter would run and the car would rattle about all whilst creating a traffic jam. Once i noticed the engine light and yielded to the car's inabiltiy to start up, we got the attention of a FHP State trooper who called in a Tow truck for us. Getting te car onto the tow truck in traffic also increased the risk associated for everyone involved. Aftert succesfully oading the car, which was no smooth task as the car could not shift into Neutral; we took the car to my local Firestone. After a diagnostic test done the following morning, we were notified of a fuel pump issue that has been on the recall list for my vehicle, but NOT associated with my VIN.
Engine began to stall while driving or would not restart after parking. Happened one time while driving on highway [XXX]. Towed to dealer. Same fuel pump issue as recall N212332040 however that build date window closed March 4 2021 and my Tahoe was built in June 2021. Several times over the last month, or so, my 2021 Tahoe has hesitated to accelerate while driving. On 7/31/2024 the vehicle was in park, turned on when the vehicle began idling VERY hard, shaking the entire vehicle. The engine was turned off and restarted approximately 10min later. I began driving when the vehicle began shaking, the engine light came on, and the engine then turned OFF while in drive, actively driving down the road (with my child in the vehicle). I coasted into a parking lot and attempted to restart the engine several times, without luck. After sitting for approximately 45min the engine restarted, and I was able to get home. The engine stopped and restarted several more times that evening, without issue. The engine light turned off. The following day the vehicle ran without issue, no engine light on. We took the Tahoe to Total Performance Repair shop where they ran a diagnostic scan of warning light history. The diagnostic scan came back with codes P023F and P129F; fuel pump issues. There is currently a recall for fuel pump module failure on some 2021 Chevy Tahoe vehicles. My specific vehicle is not included in the recall but is experiencing the recalled issues.
I was driving with family (2 adults - including myself, and 5 kids - ages [XXX] ) The truck started to flash warnings and my brakes disabled. We couldn't stop and almost had an accident. I kept pumping the brakes and the E break I didn't give it any gas and we slowly came to a stop after some time. I shut the truck off as I was beyond terrified and tried to start it back up. The lights came on but it didn't turn over to start. Had to have it towed and find an uber for a 7 passenger car. The truck was towed to the nearest dealer (a little over an hour from my home) and I was told it was a battery issue. They replaced the battery didn't check the breaks and told me if the battery dies the breaks stop working. Yet, I had power in the truck just no brakes, when I tried to turn it on the lights went on as did the radio but that was it. I tried to take pictures of the warnings on the dash however we were in Mom panic mode. Chevy is acting as if this isn't an issue. I had to put out over $1,100 between the battery, the fees of the dealership, rental and an uber. If we were going at a higher speed we would have not been okay. It was beyond dangerous and the thought that if a battery suddenly dies you have no breaks, that is just unacceptable. I would love for someone to look into this. I am now looking to see what I can do as I don't feel safe in the truck. I don't want this to happen to anyone else hence why I am asking for someone to please look into this. WHAT FAILED: Main Radio. SAFETY CONCERNS: GM sent an over the air update to car around July 5, 2024 and the update broke the whole radio system to my car. I now have no access to OnStar, bluetooth for phone safety, maps, blinkers on side mirrors, radio etc. Dealer mentioned it is a very common problem with this particular GM product and the over the air update to cars. When I asked to turn this feature off so it doesn't happen again it is not an option. The Chevrolet Dealer and a sound system specialist has inspected vehicle. Sound System specialist said this part may only be replaced by the dealer as it is the high end radio system. There was no warning of the update happening. The car was in great condition until this update was pushed through in the middle of the day. Now I am being quoted $2000 to fix it with no guarantee that it wont happen again.
The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was a loud revving and knocking sound coming from the engine compartment. The contact stated that later after starting the vehicle, the check engine warning light illuminated with the knocking sound coming from the engine. The vehicle was driven to the local dealer who diagnosed that the engine was faulty and needed to be replaced. The engine was replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V274000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 70,000.
Sunroof continues to collect water in the drain. I have had it blown out but it continues to happen. It is a matter of time before it begins to leak into the truck. In my research, this is an extremely common problem/design flaw.
Other vehicles of my year and make were recalled. My car was manufactured 8/14/21. I was driving on 6/12/24 and my Car died. I had power. I had fuel but fuel was not getting to the engine. It turns out it was the fuel pump control module that many others were recalled. This could have been a very unsafe situation for me as it died in a traffic lane during morning rush hour. It would not start back up for me. My dealer diagnosed it very quickly and is repairing it in 2 days time. Had I been on the freeway, someone would have rearended me. My car has 22,000 miles on it.
I am experiencing loss of power just like the recall shows for campaign 22V036000 powertrain. Engine stall in the middle of the street just like it shows for the fuel system 21V73 9000. I have stalled in the middle of the street including today four times and a month. The dealership can’t seem to find what’s wrong. Nor other places. I don’t think they are looking hard enough at the dealership. I almost got killed by another car going at least 65 mph while I was stuck in the middle of the street at a stoplight. These are all different days. While working and people in my car.
I was driving to work today and I heard what sounded like an explosion, so I stopped and pulled to the side of the road and checked everything and I seen that the sunroof glass was broken, I have only ever used the sunroof twice and that was to see if it was working. My safety and others on the road were at risk because if I would have had the sunroof sliding shade open the glass would have fell on my head or in my face. Also anyone driving behind me I'm sure the glass flew on their vehicle and could caused an accident. I got to work and called the local Chevrolet dealership in town and they said there were no recalls for this problem, but yet I looked it up under GMC forums and there has been other people saying it happened to them, especially the same year and make and model. My vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police or insurance yet, I reached out to the Chevrolet dealership and they said there was nothing they could do to help because there were no recalls on my vehicle, so I asked the girl in the service department who was higher then her and could help me because I did nothing wrong and did not feel that I should have to pay to fix this problem. She then gave me customer care contact information and I am waiting for a response. There were no warnings or symptoms or any messages on the dash, my sunroof glass just exploded without any warnings.
This is a fairly new vehicle, so to be told we need a new engine when we’ve had the car for only 4 years is ridiculous! We were driving one day and heard a knocking sound coming from the front of the car. We made it home, but when we tried to leave the next time, we only made it halfway down our driveway when we heard a loud knocking noise from the front and the car suddenly stopped. We were dead in the water and needed to get the car towed back to our house. The gear shift was also stuck in drive and we couldn’t turn the car on. The engine had completely seized up. The tow truck driver had to get underneath the vehicle in order to disengage the gear shift and allow us to shift into neutral so that we could get it back home. When we had it towed to our mechanic, they told us that it was a bearing failure and the connecting rod had caused our engine to seize up. I’m just glad we weren’t on a major highway or busy street at the time this took place. This is supposed to be our family vehicle and it has been out of commission for more than 6 months because we haven’t been able to afford to replace the engine. We’ve tried contacting GM directly, but they said we were beyond our warranty and there was nothing they could do to help us.
I was parked with engine on idling and the engine shut off. Tried to restart and it started shaking very rough idle, I turned off and tried to restart it would not start, I tried again and it started shaking again and shut off but the displays stayed on in the car. I called the Chevy dealer and had it towed to them. They ran diagnostics and confirmed it was an internal short inside fuel pump driver control module. They replaced and tested functional now. This is the second time they have replaced this part. The first time was last year driving when the engine decelerated and shut off. This is a safety issue and could be hazardous. My concern is this will happen again and I could be put in a very dangerous situation. I saw a bulletin issued for my vehicle with the same type of issue but my vehicle was not recalled to address Product Safety Recall N212332040 Stall While Driving Copyright 2021 General Motors. All Rights Reserved. Page 1 of 4 Release Date: October 2021 I am not sure if this is the same part or another issue.
I have a 2021 Chevy Tahoe that has been to the dealer 3 times now for an airbag light (DTC B14DC). The dealer has yet to resolve this issue. I am being told it has to do with the harness in my drivers seat. The dealer performed a TSB for this issue which still hasn't fixed the problem. My wife and I travel back and forth from Michigan to Arizona and I am concerned that the system wont perform correctly if I am in an accident.
When turning left in cross traffic, the truck stalled. It would crank and try to run, but not start as it wasn't getting any gas. The gas tank was full at the time. The failure was very similar to when I was stranded with the fuel issue in 2021 a couple of months before the recall for the fuel pump failure was issued (NTSA # 21V739000). Fortunately, it did start momentarily so that I could get out of oncoming traffic so that I wasn't t-boned. I was able to get it home, but it failed multiple times in the 8 mile trip back to the house. We will not drive this vehicle as it is unsafe to drive and now we are left to tow the vehicle to the closest dealership which is 50+ miles away. It seems this part only works a few years and then fails.
The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated while driving at various speeds on several occasions, there was a banging sound coming from the engine compartment. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the cam lifters needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred two weeks later. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 11,400.
GM does not install TPMS devices in spare tires. I had a flat tire in snowy conditions 100+ miles from the nearest place for assistance. After putting on the spare tire the DIC (driver information center) displayed no air in tire. That’s because a TPMS doesn’t exist in spare tires. I started driving a my four wheel drive turned off. I turned it back on and after a very short distance it turned off again. Since the vehicle determined I didn’t have air in one of the tires (spare previously mentioned) the four wheel drive shouldn’t work to prevent damage. I needed the four wheel drive in the snow so I had to proceed at approximately 25 mph. This is a safety issue for not only my vehicle but others on the roadways. I contacted the dealer that had no idea about the problem and neither did the national GM customer support center. There is a tool that “tells” the vehicle where each tire is located so that is low tire pressure occurs the driver would know which tire needs attention. If a TPMS was installed from the factory and a flat occurred, spare installed then the four wheel drive would function. If a flat subsequently occurred the driver would still be alerted but wouldn’t know tire was involved. Visual check would find it. Either this or have GM provide an override so the trip could be continued safely. I believe that this situation applies to any four wheel drive vehicle not just GM and should be resolved if the NHTSB would initiate an investigation.
Approximately 4/14/24 while I was driving home from being out of town with my child the check engine light came on with a message “Reduced acceleration drive with care.” The car was not shifting and I couldn’t go over 45 mph and the rpm’s were about 3000 at that speed. The light went off and the car seemed to be driving normally. While on the interstate traveling at approximately 70 mph the car did a hard shift and drastically slowed while the rpm’s spiked. I took it to the dealership who determined the valve body needed to be replaced. Approximately August 2024 it happened again but the light went off. December 2024 same issues with the check engine light, reduced acceleration and not shifting happened. Took the car back 12/9/24 where a wire was replaced. Picked the car up 12/12/24 and 12/18/24 while driving in the car rider line picking my child up the car had a hard shift, check engine light came on, reduced acceleration message and the car would not shift. Notified the dealership immediately and took it back 12/26/24 where they did a second valve body replacement. 1/28/25 on my way home from running errands and was stopped at a red light and the car shifted hard, check engine light came on, reduced acceleration message and engine would not shift causing me to drive slowly to get home (40 mph or less). Dealership was notified immediately and took in the following day. Dealership had a week and had me pick it up because they “couldn’t replicate the issue.” 2/15/25 after driving 2 hours we pulled in a parking lot and the car shifted hard hard, check engine light came on, reduced acceleration and would not go into reverse. The dealership picked the car up and have had it since trying to replicate it. It occurs without warning while driving and will drastically slows the car down putting us a risk of being rear ended due to the rapid and speed change. It also is a safety risk due to lack of warning that a power failure is about to occur while driving.
The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power. The driver was able to pull to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle failed to restart for 40 minutes. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the fuel pump power control module. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V739000 (Fuel System, Gasoline), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 42,000.
Service engine light came on, took it to Chevrolet dealership (2 months outside warranty). They found p2459 for regeneration frequency, performed necessary dpf regeneration procedure and was successful in completing and regeneration event, applied smoke to exhaust system for testing purposes and found large exhaust leak at rear tail pipe connection necessary to install new graphite seal and clamp. Also, found coolant leak at rear of engine on passenger side, upon further inspection found egr cooler coolant hose's actively leaking. necessary to replace hose's at this time. They do not want to release the vehicle back to us for “safety” reasons, while a part has been back ordered for 6 weeks. Doing some research, it appears there has been a trend of issues with the exhaust tail pipe, which is excluded also from extended warranty. I’m surprised, given the frequency of this on a newer vehicle that it has not yet been recalled. The coolant hose is a different issue, but likewise surprised it is not recalled.
My car suddenly stopped while driving on the highway , no warning signs I had to be towed . My car in now at the Chevy dealership, was told was " fuel system issue"
While traveling on the highway at 65 mph the car comes to a complete stop with no brakes applies. No engine light present nor were the emergency braking lights on. This is the 4th occurance.
The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while driving 35–40 MPH, the vehicle abruptly shut off. The contact continued to pump the brake pedal to alert oncoming traffic. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact called the Police, and the vehicle was towed to an impound lot. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump control drive module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and a case was opened. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V739000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The failure mileage was approximately 38,000.
As a traffic crash reconstructionist, the issue is a MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. My wife was exiting a residential driveway when the vehicle started to stutter and immediately shut down with no power or any capability to get the vehicle off the road. The shutdown caused the blockage of a residential street on a Friday afternoon, until the correct tow truck arrived. This was due to the fact the vehicle could not be moved due to not being able to start the engine nor the ability to place the vehicle into neutral, without starting the engine or crawling un der it with tools. It was determined the fuel module went bad. There was no warning of the failure of the component. Luckily the shut down of all components of the vehicle did not occur on a high speed or highly traveled road since I did not have any control of the vehicle after the fuel module failed. This is not the first report of the issue to NHTSA. Hopefully something will happen to find a fix to put the vehicle in neutral without tools, for the safety of the motoring public.
vehicle infotainment system will randomly "restart" or shut off completely when vehicle is being drove, but will still be playing music also all time and temperature (outside temp) will freeze when this happens. it also make the battery drain when this happens. the only way to get the screen to come back on weve tried is to disconnect battery. weve replaced the battery, weve had a chevy dealership look into it. no one can figure out what is happening. Now it is happening more and more. we also do not receive updates anymore to the infotainment system. the dealership had to manually do it a year ago. also will not keep our proifile signed in at all. always says were stuck in guest mode. says we have full storage when there is not any apps downloaded.
The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated while driving approximately 70 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal however, the vehicle continued to lose motive power and failed to respond to the accelerator pedal being depressed. Third time engine only cranks and will not start. I was forced to disconnect the battery and reconnect after a short while to get the vehicle to start.
At 35,000 miles, my 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe started to misfire. When I pressed the accelerator, the truck started hesitating and the check engine light started flashing. I was able to get the truck to the dealer I purchased it at. The technician "claimed" it was a bad fuel injector. The dealer replaced the spark plug and injector. The vehicle was never test driven. I picked up the truck and drove it on the road. Within 1 mile, the truck started to misfire again with the check engine light started flashing. The dealer claimed that the lifter or lifters in one engine bank were bad. The dealer replaced the lifters on the one side of the engine.
