VEHICLE WAS NOT SHIFTING PROPERLY TRANSMISSION FAILURE ( SUN SHELL SPLEEN THE WORKS). HAD AN INSPECTION AND HAD TO HAVE NEW SUN SHELL SPLEEN, RECONDITIONING OF TRANSMISSION. $ 3000.00 TO FIX, I SEE MANY COMPLAINTS ON THE 2002 TRAILBLAZER. THIS SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO, I CALLED THE MANUFACTURER TO TELL THEM ABOUT THE FAILURE AND THEY E-MAILED ME AND THANK ME FOR THE E-MAIL. MY VEHICLE ONLY HAD 49,665 MILEAGE. I SHOULD HAVE SAVED THE PARTS THEY WERE IN VERY BAD SHAPE. THIS FAILURE WAS WITHOUT ANY NOTICE. *JB
HAVE REPLACED THE HEAD LIGHT IN THE TRAILBLAZER 3 TIMES DUE TO THE CONNECTOR FOR THE LAMP MELTING THEN BURNING OUT THE HEADLIGHTS. *TR
1) SINCE OWNING MY 2002 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER, ON OCCASION, THE CAR WOULD DRIVE AND SOUND LIKE A SEMI (LOUD AND HEAVY WHEN I ACCELERATED). 2) JULY 19, 2005, WITH 51000+ MILES, THE SUV CONTINUALLY WAS LOUD AND HEAVY WHEN I ACCELERATED. FINALLY, THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. 3) I TOOK IT TO A SHOP AND THE MECHANIC SAID IT WAS THE ELECTRIC FAN CLUTCH AND HE HAD SEEN IT BRAKE DOWN IN SEVERAL TRAILBLAZERS. COST TO REPLACE: $732.33. I STILL HAVE THE OLD PART IF YOU NEED IT.
DT THE DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS REAR DOOR HANDLES WILL NOT OPEN PROPERLY. CONSUMER HAS TO GO INSIDE THE VEHICLE TO OPEN THE DOORS. ALSO, THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE WINDSHEILD WIPER AND WASHER, BUT THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED DUE TO VIN. THE WINDSHIEL WIPERS START ON THEIR OWN, AND ONE COULD HEAR THE MOTOR GOING WITHOUT WINDSHIELD WIPERS BEING ON. CONSUME RPULLED THE FUSE ON THE WASHER MOTOR BUT WIPERS CONTINUED TO RUN. THIS HAPPENED LAST TUESDAY JULY 19,2005. *AK
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING HER 2002 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER WHEN THE TRANSMISSION CATASTROPHICALLY FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER, AND THE DIAGNOSIS WAS "SUN SHELL SPLINE FAILURE" IN THE TRANSMISSION
4 W/DR LIGHT GOES TO 4HI/ ALL WHEEL DR/4 LOW WITHOUT WARNING AT ANYTIME. THE COMPUTER MODE WAS REPLACED ONCE UNDER WARRANTY AT THE MOMENT IT DOESN'T SEEM TO BE ACTUALLY SHIFTING. ALSO HAD A LOUD JET SOUND COMING FROM THE ENGINE AS IF IT WAS LABORING AND HAD TO HAVE THE FAN CLUTCH ASSEMBLY REPLACED @ A COST OF OVER $800.00 . *JB
MY TRAILBLAZER HAS 56,000 MILES AND THE TRANSMISSION HAS WENT OUT WITH NO SIGN THAT IT WAS GOING OUT NOT EVEN A WARNING LIGHT INSIDE THE TRUCK OR A NOISE WHEN DRIVING OR STARTING THE VEHICLE.
THE RADIO RANDOMLY CHANGES STATION WHILE DRIVING, SOMETIMES REPEATEDLY. OFTEN IT APPEARS THAT THIS IS RELATED TO TURNING AS IF SOMETHING IN THE STEERING COLUMN IS AFFECTING THIS. THIS FUNCTION IS DISTRACTING TO THE DRIVER. *NM
MY VEHICLE IS A 2002 CHEVROLET TRAIL BLAZER OF WHICH I PURCHASED NEW. SINCE DAY ONE THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN PLAGUED WITH A MULTITUDE OF PROBLEMS. IT HAS HAD AN ENGINE REPLACEMENT, CLUTCH FAN ($620.00), TAIL LIGHTS, HVAC CONTROLS $(200), EXHAUST MANIFOLD, RECALL ITEMS AND NOW FINALLY A TRANSMISSION FAILURE WHERE THE SUN SHELL/GEAR LET GO COSTING ME ($1858.03). FAST FORWARD TO TODAY JUST 3 MONTHS AFTER THE TRANSMISSION WAS "COMPLETELY OVERHAULED), THE VALVE BODY ID FAILING WHERE THE DEALER HAS TOLD ME THAT "IS NOT PART OF THE 12 MONTH, 12,000 WARRANTY ON THE TRANSMISSION."
2002 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER LS 2WD 4.2L HAS 79,200 MILES ON IT DRIVING IN TOWN, PARKED IN A PARKING SPOT TO DROP WIFE OFF. PUT TRUCK IN REVERSE TO BACK OUT OF PARKING SPOT. HEAR A LOUD "POP" AND NOW I HAVE NO REVERSE, NO OVERDRIVE. CAR GOES TO 6000 RPM BEFORE SHIFTING INTOT HE NEXT GEAR. TAKE TRUCK TO DEALER, COST IS 1800 TO FIX THE TRANSMISSION, I CALL GM CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE, TELL ME THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO FOR ME. SUN SHELL GEAR IS ONE OF THE PARTS THAT NEED TO BE REPLACED
TRANSMISSON FAILURE / NO EARLY WARNING SIGNS
WHILE TAKING OFF FROM A TOLL BOOTH THERE WAS A BIG BANG AND THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO REVERSE AND MADE A VERY LOUD WHINNING NOISE WHE GOING FORWARD
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP FOR BRAKE REPAIRS. THEY DETERMINED THE PARKING BRAKE WAS CRACKING AND BREAKING. THERE WERE NO WARNINGS FOR THIS BECAUSE THE PARKING BRAKE WAS NOT USED. *NM
DT: CONSUMER HAS 2002 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER BECAUSE VEHICLE WAS SHIFTING INTO 4 WHEEL DRIVE HIGH AND LOW AT RANDOM. CONSUMER WAS EXITING THE FREEWAY WHEN VEHICLE SHIFTED DOWN TO 4 WHEEL DRIVE LOW. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN WHEN CONSUMER WAS PULLING INTO DRIVEWAY. WHEN CONSUMER WAS EXISTING FREEWAY AND THE VEHICLE DROPPED INTO 4 WHEEL LOW CONSUMER NOTICED THAT THE LIGHT SAID 4 WHEEL LOW. CONSUMER HAD THIS HAPPEN ABOUT SIX TIMES. THIS HAPPENED WHILE TURNING INTO DRIVEWAY A FEW TIMES, CONSUMER STARTED TURNING LEFT INTO DRIVEWAY WHEN IT SHIFTED DOWN INTO LOW. CONSUMER STOPPED VEHICLE , AND THE LIGHT FLASHED AND CYCLED THROUGH DIFFERENT SETTINGS UNTIL IT WENT BACK TO 2 WHEEL HIGH. CONSUMER COULD FEEL VEHICLE SHIFTING IN AND OUT OF 4 WHEEL AND HIGH AND LOW WHEN LIGHT CHANGED POSITION. CONSUMER CONTACTED MANUFACTURER, AND MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER, WHO DEALER SAID THAT THEY DONE A SOFTWARE UPDATE TO THE COMPUTER AND THIS MAY FIX PROBLEM. DEALER COULD NOT GUARANTEE THAT PROBLEM WAS FIXED. CONSUMER DID NOT WANT TO PICK UP VEHICLE BECAUSE SHE WAS SCARED FOR HER FAMILY TO RIDE IN VEHICLE.*AK
I OWN A 2002 CHEVEROLET TRAILBLAZER WITH 66 THOUSAND MILES AND HAVE HAD THE TRANSMISSION GO OUT.
TRANSMISSION WENT OUT ON 2002 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER.
2002 TRAILBLAZER LS BEGINS TO SHAKE AT SPEEDS OVER 60 MPH. THE TIRES HAVE BEEN CHANGED AND HAS NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEM IS NOT UNCOMMON IN THIS MODEL. IT IS A POSSIBLE LOSS OF CONTROL HAZARD. ALONG WITH THIS THERE IS A SQUEAKING NOISE WHEN PROCEEDING OVER ROUGH TERRAIN (EX. SPEED BUMPS,ETC.) MAY BE RELATED. *JB
WHILE DRIVING TO LAX AIRPORT AFTER ROUNDING CURVE TO GET OFF ON AIRPORT RAMP, TRANMISSION FAILED. VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE. LOCAL AIRPORT POLICE ASSISTED TO GET ME TOWED ($45) TO POLICE LOT. NOTIFIED ONSTAR AND WAS TOWED TO CLOSEST CHEVROLET DEALER, ALBERTSON OLDSMOBILE CHEVROLET IN CULVER CITY, CALIFORNIA. AFTER THREE DAYS THE DEALER HAD NOT EVEN LOOKED AT THE VEHICLE. I THEN HA CAR TOWED TO AAMCO TRANSMISSION IN ORANGE CALIFORNIA WHERE AFTER LESS THAN 24 HOURS I WAS INFORMED TRANSMISSION WAS COMPLETELY BURNED UP. A PUMP HAD FAILED AND THE INSIDE OF THE TRANSMISSON ASSEMBLY WAS FILLED WITH METAL SHAVINGS. IN OCTOBER OF 2003 THE TRANSMISSION HAD FAILED AND THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO GATEWAY CHEVROLET IN LA MIRADA, CALIFORNIA. CAR WAS REPAIRED. I HAVE ALSO HAD MANY OTHER PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE INCLUDING BRAKE LIGHTS, WINDSHIELD WIPERS, HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM.
DT: REAR WINDOW BLEW OUT WHILE CONSUMER WAS REMOVING HER CHILDREN FROM THE REAR SEAT. THIS HAPPENED AT ABOUT 7:30 PM IN THE EVENING. TEMPERATURE SAID ABOUT 92 DEGREES. THE PLASTIC COVER OVER THE THIRD BRAKE LIGHT, LOCATED ON TOP AND INSIDE OF THE BACK WINDOW, CRACKED. THE WHOLE HOUSING. THE WINDOW SUPPORTS, WERE THE SHOCK STILE. THEY WERE PULLING AND WINDOW BROKE. VEHICLE WAS SERVICED REGULARLY AT DEALER.*AK
DT: WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH IN A RAIN STORM ON OHIO TURNPIKE IN NEWTON FALLS, CONSUMER FELT LIKE VEHICLE WAS COMING OFF THE GROUND. STEERING GOT LOOSE AND THEN IT GOT HARD TO TURN. HE SWERVED TOWARD A SEMI-TRUCK, THEN OVER CORRECTED AND HIT A CONCRETE BARRIER WALL. HE ROLLED ONCE COMPLETELY AND ENDED UP ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE, FACING THE TRAFFIC. THE AIR BAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY. VEHICLE WAS TOWED, AND INSURANCE COMPANY TOLD HIM TO GET IN CONTACT WITH GM TO FIND OUT WHY THE AIR BAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY.*AK
TWO YEARS AGO THE LIFTGATE WHEN CLOSING WOULD NOT LOCK AND REMOTE LOCK KEY FOB FAILED TO WORK. DASHLIGHT INDICATED THAT TAILGATE WAS AJAR AND DOME LIGHTS REMAINED ON. IN THE LAST YEAR THE CONTROLS ON THE DRIVER' S DOOR QUIT WORKING. THE POWER LOCKS, WINDOWS, AND SIDE MIRROR CONTROLS DID NOT WORK. REAR DEFROSTER WILL NOT WORK. NO PARTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED BECAUSE DEALERSHIPS WILL NOT DO IT FOR FREE. I COULD NOT AFFORD TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. VERY FRUSTRATING.....FIRST NEW VEHICLE, AND IT WILL BE MY ONE AND ONLY CHEVROLET. I WILL NO LONGER PURCHASE FROM GM DUE TO THEIR LACK OF WILLINGNESS TO FIX A PROBLEM THAT THEY WERE AWARE EXISTED IN MANY VEHICLES. *AK
TRANSMISSION FAILTURE
REAR HATCH (TAILGATE) WINDOW WILL RELEASE WHILE DRIVING WITHOUT WARNING. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. WHEN THIS OCCURS, ALL THE INTERIOR LIGHTS COME ON, WHICH CAN BE QUITE DANGEROUS AT NIGHT. IN ADDITION, ITEMS CAN FALL OUT OF THE UNSECURED REAR HATCH (TAILGATE) WINDOW. I HAVE TRIED LUBRICATING THE MECHANISM, AS WELL AS CHECKING REGULARLY THAT IT IS SECURED, BUT THERE HAS BEEN NO IMPROVEMENT. *TR
MY 2002 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER BLEW ITS TRANSMISSION AT 47,000 MILES. THE CAR STARTED MAKING A CLUNKING SOUND IN THE REAR END WHEN ACCELERATING OUT OF TURNS. EVENTUALLY IT QUIT GOING IN REVERSE. THE DEALER SAYS THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AT A MINIMUM COST OF $2700. IT HAS ONLY BEEN USED FOR CITY AND HIGHWAY DRIVING-- NO HEAVY TOWING. IT IS APPARENT FROM ALL THE SIMILAR PROBLEMS I HAVE FOUND POSTED ON THE INTERNET THAT THIS IS AN INHERENT DEFECT IN THE CAR AND SHOULD BE A RECALL. *JB
ORIGINAL BF GOODRICH TIRES ARE DRY ROTTED, DEALER CLAIMS TIRES ARE O.K., I FEAR POTENTIAL TIRE FAILURE. CAR WILL NOT PASS INSPECTION AT ALTERNATE FACILITIES.
WEAR INDICATOR ON PAD INDICATED TIME TO CHANGE PADS. WHEN CHANGING PADS NOTICED DRY ROT ON PISTON BOOT ON RH FRONT CALIPER. ALSO, ROTORS SEVERELY CORRODED TO THE POINT THEY NEED TO BE REPLACED. ENDS ARE BREAKING OFF ROTORS ALMOST TO THE POINT WHERE PADS CONTACT THE ROTORS. MILES ON VEHICLE 40K
1. MY CAR BROKE DOWN ON MY WAY TO WORK, APPROXIMATELY 27 MILES INTO THE TRIP. I TURNED ONTO A SIDE STREET, AND WHEN I STARTED ACCELERATING, A LOUD SCREECHING SOUND STARTED AS I ENTERED 2ND GEAR. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER. 2. MY HUSBAND GENTLY DROVE IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY ASSUMED IT WAS THE SUN SHELL SPLINE. HOWEVER, IN ORDER TO FIND OUT, THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME $455 TO PULL THE TRANSMISSION. WE DECIDED AGAINST IT, FEARING THE HIGH COST OF REPAIR AND TOOK IT TO A LOCAL MECHANIC. 3. MECHANIC REPLACED THE SUN SHELL SPLINE, PRESSURE CONTROL SOLENOID AND MANIFOLD PRESSURE SWITCH. COST = $1,222.66 + $84.00 DIAGNOSTIC AT DEALER. WE HAVE THE SUN SHELL SPLINE. REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED ON JUNE 2ND. THEN, ON JUNE 5, THE CONDENSOR ON THE A/C WENT OUT. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER BECAUSE CHEVY STATED THAT WAS THE ONLY WAY THEY COULD HELP ME (NO HELP ON THE TRANSMISSION). COST TO REPAIR = $261.34.
DT: AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY IN A OFF CENTER FRONTAL COLLISION. WHILE TRAVELING ABOUT 35-40 MPH CONSUMER'S VEHICLE HIT THE REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. IT WAS AT A GARAGE NEAR THE ACCIDENT SITE. NO ONE LOOKED AT THE VEHICLE BUT THE RESCUE SERVICES WERE SURPRISED THAT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. INTERMITTENTLY THE SRS LIGHT WOULD COME ON. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER AND IT WAS REPAIRED IN JULY 2004. *AK *JB
1. WE HAVE ALWAYS HAD PROBLEMS WITH OUR 2002 TRAILBLAZER. AT TIMES, MOSTLY WHEN COLD, THE GAS PEDAL WOULD BE UNRESPONSIVE. WE CONTINUALLY TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHO TOLD US THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG. IN DECEMBER OF 2003 WE COULD NOT GET THE VEHICLE TO GO INTO 4WD, TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY CHANGED THE TRANSFER CASE CONTROL MODULE. 2. IN MAY OF 2005 WITH APPROX. 80000 MILES ON OUR TB, THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. IT WOULD NOT SHIFT BEYOND SECOND GEAR. AT THE TIME WE WERE DRIVING SOMEWHAT SLOWLY SO IT DIDN'T CREATE A DANGEROUS CIRCUMSTANCE. 3. WE TOOK IT TO THE GM DEALER WHO REBUILT THE TRANSMISSION FOR APPROX. $2200. EVER SINCE THE TRANSMISSION WAS REBUILT, IT HAS SHIFTED HARD IN 1ST AND 2ND GEAR. *NM
DT: THE CONTACT STATES THERE WAS NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN 04V046000 REGARDING WINDSHIELD WIPER/WASHER. THE DEALER PERFORMED ONLY A PARTIAL CORRECTION TO THE DEFECTIVE COMPONENT. THE PARTIAL REPAIR DID NOT CORRECT THE SAFETY DEFECT. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN FULLY REPAIRED, BECAUSE THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO COVER THE COST OF THE REPAIRS. *AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER FAILS TO WORK PROPERLY ON OCCASION. AS A RESULT, MOST OF THE GAUGES AND THE TAIL LIGHTS DO NOT WORK, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT, TURN SIGNAL INDICATORS, AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER BACK-LIGHTING. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 03V096000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING:INTERIOR/UNDER DASH). THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 98,000. UPDATED 07/10/09. *LJ WHEN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS SHUT DOWN, IT AFFECTED THE GAUGES AS WELL. THE DEFROSTER WOULD NOT OPERATE ON HIGH AND THE REAR WIPERS FAILED AT TIMES. THE CONSUMER STATED AFTER HE DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY AND RE-TESTED IT, EVERYTHING WORKED FINE. UPDATED 07/10/09.*JB

VEHICLE JUMPS INTO 4LO AND 4HI AT RANDOM. DEALERSHIP REPROGRAMMED SOMETHING, AND PROBLEM CONTINUED. DEALER NOW GUESSING AT PROBLEM. WHEN THE 4LO ENGAGES VEHICLE ACTS LIKE BRAKES LOCK UP.
I HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE SLIPPING ON MY 2002 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE BUTTON AND REPLACED IT. I AM NOW HAVING ANOTHER PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION. WHEN I START IT UP THE BRAKE LIGHT AND ABS LIGHT STAYS ON. WHEN I PUT IT INTO GEAR THE ENGINE KEEPS WINDING UP AND WILL NOT SHIFT. I THEN HAVE TO PULL OVER AND TURN THE VEHICLE OFF THEN START IT BACK UP. THIS PROBLEM OCCURS ON A DAILY BASIS. *NM
I AN COMPLAINING ABOUT THE 2002 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER SEAT WHICH HAS SNAPED A BRACKET WHICH SUPPORTS THE SEAT ON THE LEFT FRONT SIDE! THIS BRACKET BROKE WHILE I WAS OPERATING MY VEHICLE AND CAUSED ME TO BE JOGGED TO THE SIDE WHEN THE SEAT DROPPED! I WAS NOT HURT BUT THE SUDDEN JOLT CAUSED ME TO SWERVE TO ONE SIDE BEFORE I RECOVERED! AS IT WAS THERE WAS NO ONE ON MY LEFT WHEN IT HAPPENED! I CALLED CHEVROLET AND DID NOT GET ANY SATISFACTION!
I BROUGHT THIS SUV FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND I STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH IT A MONTH AFTER I BROUGHT IT. THE CAR AIR CONDITIONER STOP WORKING AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS MAKING A HORRIBLE SOUND. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER TO GET FIXED THREE TIMES. ALL THE TIMES I TOOK THE CAR IT CAME BACK THE SAME WAY THAT I TOOK AT FIRST. I ALSO TOOK IT TO A DIFFERENT DEALER TO GET FIXED AND THEY ALSO DIDN'T FIXED IT. I WANT TO CANCEL THIS SUV PURCHASE. MAINLY BECAUSE EVEN BEFORE T BROUGHT THE SUV THE SALESPERSON AT THE DEALER ADDED $5,000 TO MY INCOME SO I COULD QUALIFY TO GET THE SUV, BUT THAT WAS COMPLETELY A LIE. RIGHT NOW I'M HAVING MANY PROBLEMS AT WORK; THAT'S THE MAIN REASON I WANT TO CANCEL THE PURCHASE OF THIS SUV, WHICH IS JUST GIVING ME MANY PROBLEMS. *JB

DEALER REFUSED TO COMPLETE REPAIRS FOR STOPLIGHT ASSEMBLY RECALL ON THE 2002 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER.*MR CONSUMER RECEIVED NUMEROUS SAFETY RECALL NOTICES REGARDING AIR BAGS, DEFECTIVE STOP LIGHT ASSEMBLIES, ETC. SERVICEMAN PERFORMED THE SEAT BELT TESTS, INFORMED THAT BOTH OF THE TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLIES REQUIRED REPLACEMENT UNDER THE RECALL NOTICE AT NO CHARGE TO CONSUMER. NO DELIVERY DATE WAS AVAILABLE FOR PARTS. *BF
WHILE DRIVING 55-60 MPH, VEHICLE HIT AN SUV THAT DROVE INTO LANE. VEHICLE THEN HIT BY TRACTOR TRAILER. VEHICLE CRASHED WITH GREAT FORCE INTO HIGHWAY DIVIDER AND LOST FRONT LEFT WHEEL, CAUSING VEHICLE TO CONTINUE TO CRASH ALONG DIVIDER. BOTH FRONT AIRBAGS AND BOTH SIDE AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. PASSENGER IN VEHICLE SUSTAINED FRACTURES TO ORBITAL BONES AND MAXILLARY BONE IN SKULL. MAJOR RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY WAS REQUIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS DETERMINED TO BE A TOTAL LOSS.
TWO DIFFERENT TIMES WHILE I WAS DRIVING WITH TRAFFIC AT APPROX. 70 MPH, TRAFFIC IN FRONT CAME TO AN ABRUPT STOP. I HAD TO PULL TO THE ROADSIDE BECAUSE MY BRAKES WOULD NOT STOP THE CAR. I WENT AT LEAST 3 CAR LENGTHS FURTHER THAN THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. HAD I NOT BEEN IN AN OUTSIDE LANE THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN A SERIOUS CRASH.
THE VEHICLE WAS LEAKING GAS TWO MONTHS AGO, RESULTING IN THE REPLACEMENT OF THE FUEL TANK THE FIRST TIME, IN LAST TWO MONTHS, THE FUEL TANK WAS REPLACED BY THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE DID HAVE A RECALL DEALING WITH THE FUEL LINES. THE FUEL LINE REPAIR WAS DONE TWICE AS WELL. THERE IS STILL A SMELL OF GAS IN THE VEHICLE AT THIS TIME. THE DEALER STATES THAT CURRENTLY THERE IS NO PROBLEM WITH GAS TANK. THE DEALER DID STATE PREVIOUSLY THAT THERE WAS NO PROBLEM WITH THE GAS TANK. AND THEN REPLACED IT. CONSUMER HAD TO WAIT FOR THE DEALER TO GET PARTS TO MAKE THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN INTO THE DEALERSHIP AT LEAST THREE TIMES FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. CONSUMER FEELS THIS PROBLEM IS A RESULT OF THE RECALL REPAIR WORK. THE PROBLEM FIRST OCCURRED AFTER RECALL OF FUEL LINE WAS FIRST DONE. RECALL ID NUMBER 2016.*AK
NOISES COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE SUV ,CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CONSTANTLY CAME ON AND ONE NIGHT I WAS GOING AROUND 55 MPH MY 15 YR OLD DAUGHTER,WE HEARD A LOUD POP IT SOUND LIKE WE HAD HIT SOMETHING IN THE ROAD SO I STOP TO SEE WHAT IT WAS, WE SAW NOTHING BUT THE SQUEAKING SOUND FROM UNDER THE SUV GOT LOUDER SOME DAY LATER JUMPED IN THE CAR STARTED THE CAR AND THERE WAS THAT LOUD SOUND AGAIN ONLY THIS TIME THE SUV WOULD NOT MOVE IN REVERSE I COULD HEAR SOME SPINNING LIKE NOISE SO I TOOK IT TO A SHOP AND I WAS TOLD THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS STRIPED OUT IN REVERSE, AND THAT SOME SHAFT HAD BROKEN OR SOMETHING, THE MECHANIC ALSO TOLD ME THAT HE HAD SEVERAL PEOPLE COME IN WITH THE SAME PROBLEM THE SAME MODEL TRAILBLAZER 2002 WHAT HURT ME SO BAD IS THIS WAS MY FIRST BRAND NEW CAR, I ONLY HAD IT FOR TWO YEARS, AND IF I EVERY BUY ANOTHER CAR IT WANT BE FROM GM, I ALSO HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY TAILGATE LAMPS ,WINDSHIELD WIPERS,STEERING COLUMN. *NM
TRANSMISSIONS WENT OUT WEEKS AFTER HEARING SOUNDS UNDERNEATH THE CAR, AND HEARING A LOUD POPING SOUND. I HAD ALL OF THE RECALL PROBLEM, PLUS PROBLEMS WITH MY HEATING AND COOLING SYSTEM CONTROLS GOING OUT ON THE HIGH SETTING, PROBLEMS WITH EMBRASSASING SQUEAKING NOISES COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE CAR. WHAT REALLY HURT ME SO BAD IS THAT THE PLACE WHERE MY HUSBAND AND I WORK WE BUILD PARTS FOR GENERAL MOTORS EVERY DAY AND WORKED THERE FO 22 YEARS TRUSTING THAT THE FIRST CAR THAT WE BOUGHT BRAND NEW WOULD BE A GM PRODUCT THAT I WOULD BE AT LEAST HEARD FROM THE COMPANY AND HAVING THEM BE CONCEREND ENOUGH TO HELP PAY FOR MY REPAIRS OR SOMETHING, I ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR 2 AND A HALF YEARS. *JB
PURCHASED NEW 2002 TRAILBLAZER LTZ WHICH HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM SINCE 2005. DRIVER & PASSENGER MIRRORS POSITION THEMSELVES ERRATICALLY AT EVERY IGNITION AND SOMETIMES WHILE DRIVING. A CONSTANT TWITCHING ON THE PASSENGER SIDE ALSO OCCURS WHILE DRIVING. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS WHEN MIRRORS ARE NOT POSITIONED CORRECTLY ONCE DRIVING. CHEVROLET DEALER FAILED TO FIND THE FAULT AND REPROGRAMMED TWICE. NO PARTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED AS THEY HAVE NOW IDEA WHAT THE PROBLEM IS OR HOW TO FIX IT. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM, HOWEVER. *TR
'02 TRAILBLAZER-I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE USED AT 30K. EVERY ONCE IN AWHILE WHEN PULLING IT OUT OF THE GARAGE THE 4X4 SELECTION LIGHTS WOULD GO OUT AND THE RED "N" WOULD FLASH. WHEN I PUT THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL THE RED "N" WOULD GO OUT AND THE 2WD LIGHT WOULD COME ON. AT APPROX. 40K MILES IT DID IT ONE DAY WHEN I WAS PULLING OUT OF THE GARAGE. LATER THAT DAY I WAS JUST EXITING THE INTERSTATE AND HEARD A LOUD GRINDING NOISE COMING FROM THE TRANSFER CASE/TRANSMISSION. THE NOISE CHANGED PITCH WITH MY SPEED. WHEN I PULLED OVER TO THE SHOULDER I PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND SHUT OFF THE ENGINE. WHEN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF OF THE BRAKE THE VEHICLE STARTED TO ROLL DOWN A HILL. I RE-APPLIED THE BRAKE, STARTED THE VEHICLE AND SWITCHED IT FROM 2WD TO 4WD THEN BACK TO 2WD. THE VEHICLE THEN WAS ABLE TO MOVE AND I TOOK IT DIRECTLY TO THE DEALERSHIP. AFTER THEY LOOKED AT IT THE NEXT DAY THEY SAID "COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM." THEY ALSO SAID THAT THE FLASHING "N" WAS NOT NORMAL AND TO BRING IT IN IF IT DID IT AGAIN. AFTER LOOKING AT THIS SITE I AM VERY CONCERNED FOR MY FAMILY'S SAFETY IN THIS VEHICLE. I SPOKE WITH CHEVROLET CUSTOMER SERVICE ON 5/3/05 ON THIS AND ANOTHER ISSUE AND WAS TOLD THAT MY VEHICLE VIN WAS NOT PART OF THE LIST OF THOSE AFFECTED BY THIS PROBLEM AND THAT IT WOULD ONLY BE ADDED IF THE DEALERSHIP SAW THE PROBLEM.
02 V 121 000/FUEL FILTER FITTING: WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH THE ENGINE STOPPED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONSUMER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THE FUEL LINE RETAINER CLIP WAS MISSING. THE CONSUMER REPLACED THE LINE RETAINER. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED AT THIS TIME. *JB UPDATED 12/27/2005 - *NM

SHIFTED VEHICLE INTO REVERSE AND HEARD LOUD BANG. WHILE BACKING HEARD GRINDING AND SCRAPING NOISE. SHIFTED INTO DRIVE(FORWARD GEAR). HEAR GRINDING NOISE IN DRIVE. TAKEN TO MECHANIC. DIAGNOSED WITH BROKEN PLANETARY GEARS. PARTS AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION. *JB
