4 WHEEL DRIVE FAILURE LIGHT ON DASH BOARD AND "4 WHEEL DRIVE FULL" AND "4 WHEEL DRIVE LOW" LIGHT KEEP FLASHING AND WHEN I PLACED TRUCK IN PARK AND SHUT OFF TRUCK, IT LUNGED BACKWARD. GAS TANK WOULDN'T TAKE GAS AND THE LAST TIME IT SPIT GAS OUT AND OUT ONTO PAVEMENT. BRAKES DON'T SEEM TO STOP VERY WELL AND I NOW HAVE A PULSATING FEELING UNDER MY FOOT WHEN I BRAKE. *JB
THE VEHICLE STALLED INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE CAUSE OF PROBLEM.*AK THE VEHICLE PERIODICALLY SHUT OFF WHILE IN THE IDLE POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS DELIVERED TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS TO HAVE THE PROBLEM IDENTIFIED AND CORRECTED. AS OF 07/07/2003, THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH LOSS OF POWER AND THE SERVICE DEPT. HAS YET TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM. *PH. THE AIR CONDITION DEVELOPED A FOUL ODOR WHICH WAS PRESENT AFTER THE VEHICLE SAT IN THE SUN, THE ODOR WAS DETECTED IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED AND THE AC WAS TURNED ON, THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED TIMES AND THEN THE PROBLEM RETURNED, THE AIR CONDITION NOW TAKES A LONG PERIOD OF TIME TO COOL THE VEHICLE AND PRODUCE COLD AIR. *JB *SCC *JB
INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS BURNED OUT. THE LEFT REAR DOOR HANDLE BROKE. THE WINDSHIELD WIPER AND WASHER CAME ON AND COULD NOT BE TURNED OFF. THE HEADLIGHTS FAILED. THE REAR HATCH PULL STRAP BROKE. *AK *NLM NO LONGER OWNS VEHICLE. *KMB
HYDROPLANED HEAD ON INTO A TREE DOING ABOUT 40 MPH. HIT THE TREE HARD ENOUGH TO BREAK THE ENGINE MOUNTS AND SHIFT THE ENGINE FORWARD INTO THE FAN, PLUS SOME TRANSMISSION DAMAGE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. *NLM
ABS/BRAKE LIGHT ILLUMINATES IN THE DASH AND STAYS ON, AIR CONDITIONER/HEATING UNIT BLOWER DOES NOT WORK. CONTACTED DEALERSHIP 4 TIMES WITHIN A 2 MONTH TIME FRAME. ISSUE STILL NOT RESOLVED. DEALERSHIP THOUGHT REPLACING BODY CONTROL MODULE WOULD CORRECT THE PROBLEM, NO SUCH LUCK. *JB
2002 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER LTZ 2WD, ENGINE TOTALLY STOPPED WHEN ACCELERATING ONTO ON RAMP OF FREEWAY. DRIVER WAS ABLE TO COAST TO SIDE OF HIGHWAY WITHOUT INCIDENT. PUT SHIFTER BACK IN PARK, AND IGNITION STARTED SUCCESSFULLY. *NLM
I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH BRAKE LIGHTS ON MY TRAILBLAZER. THEY HAVE GONE OUT NUMEROUS TIMES AND I AM SICK AND TIRED OF PEOPLE TELLING ME THAT MY BRAKE LIGHTS ARE OUT. THERE SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THIS AND I FEEL THAT SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED ON THIS. MY WIFE ALSO, HAD A 2002 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER IN WHICH SHE HAD THE CIRCUIT BOARD REPLACED BECAUSE OF THESE PROBLEMS.*AK
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT A SPEED OF APPROXIMATELY 65-70 MPH, I FELT A SURGE AS IF THE TRANSMISSION WAS SHIFTING. AS THIS WAS HAPPENING I NOTICED THE LIGHT NEXT TO THE FOUR-WHEEL SWITCH SELECTOR KNOB WAS BLINKING ABOVE THE AUTOMATIC 4HI POSITION. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON OCCASION QUITE FREQUENTLY. MY WIFE WHO NORMALLY DRIVES THIS VEHICLE SAYS IT HAPPENS SEVERAL TIMES DURING A TYPICAL 60-MILE TRIP. THIS SAME THING HAPPENED A WEEK AFTER WE STARTING LEASING THIS VEHICLE BACK IN APRIL OF 2002. I TOLD THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT IT AND THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THEY SAID IT'S HARD TO FIND SOMETHING WRONG WITH IT WHEN IT'S NOT ACTUALLY HAPPENING IN FRONT OF THEM. IT ALWAYS TENDS TO HAPPEN IN THE SPEED RANGE OF 50-70 MPH. THIS ISSUE HAS ME CONCERNED, ESPECIALLY WHILE DRIVING ON SNOW, ICE, OR WET SURFACES. I'M AFRAID IT COULD JERK ENOUGH TO THROW US OFF THE ROAD. I'VE NOW REALIZED, THROUGH THE NHTSA WEB SITE, THAT MANY TRAILBLAZER OWNERS/OPERATORS HAVE HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS AND GM HAS DONE NOTHING TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM. I'VE ALWAYS PURCHASED GM SINCE MY FATHER IS A RETIRED GM EMPLOYEE, BUT I'M NOW CONSIDERING BUYING OUTSIDE OF THE GM FAMILY. WHAT GOOD IS THE GM EMPLOYEE INCENTIVE/DISCOUNT, WHEN YOUR LIFE IS AT RISK? APPARENTLY TO GM, THE COST OF LIFE IS NOTHING COMPARED TO THE COST OF A RECALL. I'M CONSIDERING GETTING OUT OF THE LEASE, NO MATTER THE COST, DUE TO THE LEMON OF A VEHICLE WE NOW HAVE. HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL BE INJURED AND OR POSSIBLY KILLED BEFORE GM DECIDES TO BITE THE BULLET AND RECALL THEIR BREAD-WINNING VEHICLE? TODAY (3-17-03) WHILE IN FOR NORMAL SERVICE, I WAS TOLD THAT THE DEALER RESET THE CONTROL MODULE, WHICH MIGHT FIX THE PROBLEM. I ASKED THEM ABOUT CHANGING THE SWITCH AND THEY SAID THEY HAVE DONE THIS ON SOME VEHICLES BUT PREFER TO START WITH RESETTING THE MODULE. ONLY TIME WILL TELL. I HOPE THE FORECAST IS FOR DRY WEATHER! *NLM
UPDATE OF COMPLAINT 10003216. GRINDING NOISE IN TRANSFER CASE RECURRED WHILE DRIVING ON FREEWAY AT 65-70 MPH, WITH 4WD MODE SWITCH LIGHTS JUMPING BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN 2WD AND 4WD. STOPPED OFF FREEWAY TO CALL DEALER, CAR WOULD NOT MOVE, TOWED TO DEALER. TOLD THAT THE TRANSFER CASE FAILED.*JB
THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A COLLISION, AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.*JB
FOR A VEHICLE THAT IS ONLY 18 MONTHS OLD, I HAD TO REPLACE THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLAMP 4 TIMES ALREADY. YET NO ONE AGREES THAT THERE COULD POSSIBLY BE A SHORT IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM CAUSING THE PROBLEM. I CAN'T SEE 4 DIFFERENT SETS OF BULB BEING BAD. *JB
THE BRAKE LIGHTS HAVE BURNED OUT IN THE LAST 3 MOS. 3 DIFFERENT TIMES. THE PASSENGER SIDE BRAKE LIGHT SEEMS TO GO OUT EVERY MONTH. I WAS COMPLAINING ABOUT THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT LOCKING UP BUT THOUGHT I WAS JUST DOING IT WRONG. AFTER READING OTHER COMPLAINTS I NOTICED THAT IT IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE. I HAVE HAD THE TRAIL BLAZER IN THE SHOP FOR THE NOISE UNDER THE FRONT WHEN YOU HIT A BUMP. THEY CAN'T SEEM TO FIND THE CAUSE OF THE NOISE. THE BACK GATE WOULD POP OPEN JUST DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. DEALER ADJUSTED THE LATCHING HOOK. HAS NOT DONE IT SINCE. NOW AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND THAT THERE ARE 8 RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE AND I HAVE JUST RECEIVED 2 NOTICES. THIS IS A BIT UNNERVING. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HIS HORN WORKS INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER TWICE, BUT THE FAILURE REMAINS. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 77,690 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,000. UPDATED 02-14-08. *KB
WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING. THIS IS THE SECOND OCCURRENCE OF THE WIPER MOTOR HAVING TO BE REPLACED. AFTER THE FIRST OCCURRENCE, THE WIPERS WOULD ACTIVATE AFTER GOING THROUGH AN AUTOMATED CAR WASH, AND WOULD RUN FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES. ON THIS OCCURRENCE, THEY WOULD NOT OPERATE, DURING A HEAVY RAIN.*JB
2002 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER LT WITH B.F. GOODRICH "OPEN TRAIL T/A" M+S TIRES (P245/70R16 WOL). THIS INCIDENT MARKS THE THIRD TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. WHEN THE TIRES ENCOUNTER FRESHLY-WETTED PAVEMENT OR ANY WET EARTH ON THE PAVEMENT ALL TIRE ADHESION VANISHES AND THE VEHICLE BECOMES AN UNCONTROLLABLE SLED AS IF IT WERE RACING ACROSS ICE. THIS EFFECT IS NOT SPEED DEPENDENT. THE FIRST INCIDENT ALMOST RESULTED IN A REAR-END COLLISION. THE SECOND AND THIRD INCIDENTS NEARLY RESULTED IN THE VEHICLE LEAVING THE ROAD. THESE TIRES APPEAR TO BE SAFE ONLY ON CLEAN DRY PAVEMENT.
ON FEB 5TH, 2003 I REAR ENDED A STOPPED VEHICLE WHILE GOING 45 MILES AN HOUR. MY CHIN HIT THE STEERING WHEEL BUT NO AIRBAG DEPLOYED. THE BODY SHOP WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHY THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. *NLM
POWER TRANSFER CASE 4 WD, AGAIN TODAY 2/5/03 MY CHEVY TRAILBLAZERS 4WD LOCKED UP WITH KNOB IN 2WD AND THE LIGHTS ARE ON BOTH 4WH-4WL STOPPED US ABRUPTLY SKIDDING AND THROWING US FORWARD, I HAD THIS CAR IN THE SHOP 1/31/03 FOR THE SAME PROBLEM, AND THEY TOLD ME THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. I TOLD THE DEALER AND GMAC THAT I DONOT WANT THE CAR BACK THIS IS THE 4TH TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED AND ME AND MY FAMILLY ARE VERY AFFRAID WHEN DRIVING THIS CAR THAT IT IS DANGEROUS AND COULD INJURE US. MAYBE IT WILL TAKE SOMEONE GETTING HURT OR KILLED BEFORE THEY WILL BY BACK THIS CAR. I AM IN FEAR AT ALL TIMES WHEN I DRIVE IT BUT I HAVE NO OTHER VEHICLE AND CQANT AFFORD TO BUY ANOTHER WITH THIS PAYMENT. GMAC PLEASE HELP
ON 11/02 I HAD MY VEHICLE AT THE DEALER FOR SERVICE & IT WAS BROUGHT UP THAT THE 4WD WAS TURNING ON & OFF RANDOMLY. THE SERVICE PERSON MENTIONED THAT THEY HAVE SEEN A HANDFUL OF THESE & THE COMPUTER IN THE VEHICLE WAS "ASLEEP" HOWEVER, THEY ADVISED THEY COULDN'T CHECK THE PROBLEM BECAUSE IT WAS IN WORKING ORDER AT THE TIME I HAD IT IN. THEY COULD ONLY CHECK THE PROBLEM IF IT WASN'T WORKING. THE LAST WEEK OF 1/03, I WAS TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS IN 2WD. THE VEHICLE AUTOMATICALLY SHIFTED ITSELF INTO 4WD HIGH, MADE A VERY LOUD SOUND & THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH CHANGED FROM 4WD HIGH TO AWD, & 4WD LOW. WHEN I ARRIVED HOME, ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH FOR 4WD WERE OUT & HAVE NOT COME BACK ON. THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED BACK ON THE FOLLOWING DAY, IT WAS IN 2WD & WOULD NOT ENGAGE INTO AWD OR 4WD HIGH OR LOW. I CONTACTED MY DEALER WHO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN ON 2/5/03 TO HAVE THE 4WD CHECKED OUT. ON 2/4/03 I HIT A PATCH OF SNOW & ICE WITH MY REAR TIRES. I WAS TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH ON A 55 MPH ROAD. DUE TO THE VEHICLE ONLY BEING IN 2WD & THE AWD & 4WD NOT WORKING, THE FRONT WHEELS OF THE VEHICLE HAD NO POWER & THE VEHICLE WENT OUT OF CONTROL & ENDED UP IN A DITCH ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD CAUSING OVER $4000 IN DAMAGE. MINOR BRUISING INJURY TO MYSELF WHEN MY KNEES SLAMMED INTO THE DASH. BODY DAMAGE HAS BEEN REPAIRED & THE SERVICE DEPT HAS CONFIRMED THAT THE COMPUTER WAS NOT WORKING AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT IN ORDER FOR THE 4WD TO TURN ON. THE COMPUTER HAS SINCE BEEN "RESET" & THE VEHICLE RETURNED TO ME ON 2/27/03. AGAIN ON 3/1/03 & 3/3/03, THE VEHICLE WAS IN 2WD TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS & RANDOMLY TURNED FROM 2WD TO AWD & 4WD. ON 3/10/03, I ADVISED THE DEALER AGAIN OF THE PROBLEM & THE MANAGER IS GOING TO SPEAK W/THE SERVICE DEPT TO FIND OUT IF THERE HAVE BEEN ANY OTHER COMPLAINTS OF THIS NATURE. AGAIN, THE DEALER SAID THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING NOW FOR ME AS THE VEHICLE IS WORKING AT THIS TIME.*JB
IN MY 2002 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER, AT APPROXIMATELY FIVE MPH, APPROACHING A STOP SIGN, THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND AFTER SLOWING DOWN TO APPROXIMATELY ONE MPH, THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ROLL THRU THE STOP SIGN, ACROSS 4 LANES OF TRAFFIC AND FINALLY CAME TO A STOP WHEN IT HIT THE CURB ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE INTERSECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS SUBSEQUENTLY HIT BY A LARGE TRUCK. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. HAD IT NOT BEEN FOR THE CURB, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT HAVE STOPPED. AFTER HAVING THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE NEAREST CHEVY SERVICE FACILITY, THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME THAT THIS WAS AN INHERENT BEHAVIOR WITH ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEMS. I TEND TO AGREE WITH HIM AS MY 2000 CHEVY SILVERADO HAD DEMONSTRATED THE SAME BEHAVIOR. THERE WERE NO APPARENT LEAKS IN THE SYSTEM AND THE MASTER CYCLINDER WAS FULL. AFTER THE ACCIDENT, THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED AND THE BRAKE PEDAL CONTINUED TO GO ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK. THE SERVICE FACILITY WAS NOT ABLE TO REPRODUCE THE BEHAVIOR THE NEXT MORNING AND REFERRED ME TO GM CUSTOMER SERVICE WHERE A CASE HAS BEEN FILED.
LEFT REAR BRAKE LIGHT SHORTED OUT REQUIRING REPLACEMENT OF "CIRCUIT BOARD". SERVICE MANAGER INDICATED THIS WAS OCCURING FREQUENTLY. AK
ON SOME COLD STARTS THE AUTO TRANSMISSION STARTS OFF IN SECOND OR THIRD GEAR, IT STAYS THAT WAY UNTIL THE VEHICLE WARMS UP. THIS IS PRECEDED BY THE ENGINE IDLEING FASTER THAN USUAL ON THE COLD START. THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM AND HAS BEEN HAPPEING A FEW TIMES PER MONTH. TWO DEALERS HAVE FAILED TO FIND THE PROBLEM.
ON START UP, HEARD A RACHETING SOUND AS TACHOMETER ENGAGED. INCREASED THE RPM'S AND HEARD THE GEAR MECHANISM RACHET UP AND DOWN AS RPM'S INCREASED/ DECREASED. *TT
THE VEHICLE IS NOT STABLE. THERE HAS BEEN TWO DIFFERENT COLLISIONS BECAUSE WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED, THE VEHICLE WILL SWIRL AROUND. DEALER WAS CONTACTED. PH
THE 4WD SYSTEM SWITCHES BETWEEN 2HI, A4WD, AND 4HI MODES ON ITS OWN WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, THE INDICATOR LIGHTS ON THE ROTARY SELECTOR BLINK, THERE IS A SLIGHT JERK FELT IN THE DRIVE TRAIN AS THE TRANSFER CASE SHIFTS, DEALER CAN NOT REMEDY THE PROBLEM. ITIT HAS BEEN IN FOR SERVICE 4 TIME FOR THE SAME PROBLEM
THE POWER STEERING WAS DISABLED AND WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER VEHICLE. WE TOOK IT TO OUR SERVICE PERSON WHO CONTACTED A GM DEALER, EWALD OF OCONOMOWOC, WI. THEY TOLD US TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN TO THE DEALERSHIP. WHILE DRIVING TO THE DEALERSHIP THEPOWER STEERING RETURNED TO USE.
VEHICLE ENGAGING INTO 4 HI, 4 LOW, AND A 4 WHEEL DRIVE SPONTANEOUSLY. WHILE VEHICLE IS IN PARK AND IN 4 WHEEL DRIVE, IT HAS A WHINNING SOUND AND WILL LUNGE WHEN 4 WHEEL DRIVE IS TURNED OFF. *JB
MY SERVICE 4WD LIGHT HAS BEEN A PROBLEM SINCE JANUARY 2003. MY 2002 TRAILBLAZER HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR ALMOST ALL OF JULY. CHEVY HAS REFUSED TO REPURCHASE MY VEHICLE STATING THAT THEY ARE GOING TO "FIX" IT UNDER THE WARRANTY. IT GOES WITHOUT SAYING THAT I AM FIGHTING THIS. ADDITIONALLY, UPON MY RETURN FROM A THREE WEEK VACATION IN MARCH, I FOUND MY TRAILBLAZER COMPLETELY DEAD. CHEVY HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO TO IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM.
I OWN A 2002 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER LTZ. WHEN DRIVING AT AROUND 54 MPH AND 1600 RPM'S THE SUV PRODUCES A VIBRATION THAT CAN BE HEARD AND FELT THROUGHT OUT THE VECHICLE. TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE NEITHER GM OR THE DEALERSHIPS KNOWS WHAT IS CAUSING THE VIBRATION. IT IS WITH OUT A DOUBT SOMETHING THAT SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING. I ALSO KNOW OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME SUV HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. DOES IT DO DAMAGE TO MY SUV EVERY TIME IT HAPPENS? MOST IMPORTANTLY IT HAPPENS AT HIGHWAY SPEED. I DON'T WANT SOMETHING TO GO WRONG AT 54 MPH. THANK YOU. 2ND FRONT WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR BEING INSTALLED... WINDSHILD WIPERS WOULD GO ON ALL BY THEIR SELFS... UNTIL FUSE PULLED OR ENGINE SHUT OFF.. DEALER IS TELLING ME WATER IS GETTING INTO MOTOR HOUSING AND SHORTING OUT MOTOR.. ??? ALREADY SECOND TIME IN LAST 2 MONTHS.
WHEN ATTEMPTED TO START VEHICLE ALL GAUGES AND LIGHTS ON INSTRUMENT PANEL FAILED TO COME ON VEHICLE SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED STILL NO INSTRUMENT PANEL. VEHICLE WAS DROVE APPROX. 5 MILES SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED AND THE GAUGES AND LIGHTS THEN CAME ON. THERE HAS BEEN 3 TIMES THAT THIS HAS OCCURED IN THE LAST 4 MONTHS.
WINDSHIELD WIPERS HAVE FAILED FOR THE FOURTH TIME. TWO SEPARATE DEALERS HAVE REPLACED MOTOR AND THE ENTIRE WIPER UNIT WITHOUT REMEDY EXCEPT FOR SHORT PERIODS OF TIME. THE WIPERS ACTIVATE WHEN EVER THEY FEEL LIKE IT AND FAIL TO ACTIVATE DURING HEAVY RAIN AND ARE NOW "STUCK" IN THE HALFWAY POSITION ACROSS WINDSHIELD . *JB
THIS VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH "MEMORY" MIRRORS THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO RETURN TO THE LAST STORED POSITION WHEN THE REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY IS USED. INSTEAD THEY DRIVE TO AN EXTREME POSITION, MAKE A LOUD CLICKING NOISE, AND STAY THAT WAY. MANY TIMES I'VE BEEN TRYING TO MAKE A LANE CHANGE AND FOUND THE MIRRORS POINTING TOWARD THE PAVEMENT. THE MANUFACTURER IS AWARE OF THE DEFECT AND HAS FIXED IT IN THE 2003 MODEL. HOWEVER, THEY REFUSE TO FIX MY VEHICLE. THIS PROBLEM EXISTS IN ALL 2002 TRAILBLAZERS AND GMC ENVOYS. THERE IS AN INTERNAL SERVICE BULLETIN AT CHEVROLET THAT EXPLAINS IT.

I HAVE A 2002 TRAILBLAZER WITH A AIR CONDITION PROBLEM THE TRUCK HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE. THE DEALERSHIP HAS TOLD US TO SPRAY THE TRAILBLAZER WITH LYSOL IN THE AIR CONDITION VENTS IN ODER TO KEEP THE MELDOW SMELL FROM COMING BACK INTO THE TRUCK ,THEY ARE REFUSING TO REPLACE THE AIR CONDITION.
THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAILED TO WORK THREE TIMES, ONCE WHILE DRIVING IN RAIN. DEALER IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. TS...*AK
THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE DID NOT PERFORM AS DESIGNED, WHICH RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT. *JB
THE LIGHT ON THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE KNOB IS ALWAYS JUMPING BACK AND FORTH FROM 2 WD TO 4 WD . THE SERVICE 4 WHEEL DRIVE LIGHT CAME ON SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MY CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP AND IT TOOK THEM 5 DAYS TO FIGURE OUT THE SERVICE 4 WHEEL DRIVE LIGHT WAS DUE TO THE IGNITION? MY IGNITION DOES NOT START PROPERLY ANYMORE. THE LIGHTS ON THE 4 WD KNOB STILL BLINK. I DO NOT KNOW IF THE VEHICLE IS SAFE. THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMS IT IS SAFE? *JB
2002 TRAILBLAZER LS. LEFT BRAKE LIGHT CONTINUES TO FAIL. EACH TIME I PULL THE BULB OUT, IT IS OK, SO I PUT IT BACK IN AND IT WORKS FOR A DAY OR TWO. I HAVE NOW NOTICED THAT IT SEEMS TO WORK LONGER IF YOU PULL THE BULB OUT SLIGHTLY INSTEAD OF SEATING IT FULLY INTO THE SOCKET. THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM IN THIS VEHICLE, ACCORDING TO MY SON, AN ASE CERTIFIED MR. GOODWRENCH TECHNICIAN, EMPLOYED FOR YEARS BY GMC AND CHEVROLET DEALERSHIPS. BRAKE LIGHTS GOING OUT ARE GOING TO EVENTUALLY CAUSE A FATAL ACCIDENT, AND I DON'T THINK CHEVROLET WANTS THAT! MAKE THEM ACCOUNTABLE!!! *JB
CONSUMER STATES THAT WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ENGAGED WHILE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RAN CONTINUOUSLY UNTIL SERVICED BY THE DEALER. DEALER REPLACED THE WIPER MOTOR WITH A DIFFERENT KIND.
THE VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH AUTOMATIC ADJUSTING EXTERIOR MIRRORS. I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THOSE MIRRORS FOR THE LONGEST TIME. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE PROBLEM. THEY ALWAYS SAY THEY FIXED SOMETHING DIFFERENT, BUT THE PROBLEM IS STILL PREVALENT. *JB
2002 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER- WHILE TRAVELING ON I-76 IN PHILADELPHIA, PA AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MHP THE ENGINE IN MY TRAILBLAZER BEGAN TO MAKE A LOUD NOISE, LOST POWER & SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE HAD APPROXIMATELY 5,400 MILES ON IT AT THE TIME. FORTUNATELY, I WAS SOMEHOW ABLE TO MAKE IT OFF THE HIGHWAY WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE OUTCOME OF THE PROBLEM WAS ENGINE FAILURE, A LINER WITHIN THE ENGINE CAME LOOSE & CAUSED PISTON FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED & THE ENGINE REPLACED.
IF THE 2 U SHAPED HOOKS THAT HOLD THE SPOILER IN PLACE DETACH THE SPOILER POPS UP ABOVE THE TRUCK. WHEN THIS OCCURS THE SPOILER IS NOT WIND RESISTANT. THIS RESULTS IN THE OTHER PLASTIC SPOILER ATTACHMENTS WEAKENING, AND CAUSING THE SPOILER TO SEPARATE FROM THE BODY OF THE TRUCK, AND TO FLY INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THE SPOILER WAS REPLACED. HOWEVER, THIS FAILURE RECURRED.*AK
THE ENGINE MADE A RUMBLING/CLICKING SOUND, SHUT OFF SUDDENLY, THE POWER STEERING HAD GONE OUT, AND THE POWER BRAKES FAILED. THE DEALER DETERMINED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. TS
THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO HAVE A STRONG ODOR OF GAS. IT SEEMED THAT IT WAS CONSUMING GAS AT A VERY HIGH RATE. HAD THE VEHICLE CHECKED AND IT WAS NOT VISIBLE WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS LEAKING THE FUEL. KNOWING THAT THE FUEL SYSTEM IS A PRESSURIZED SYSTEM IT WAS FELT WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO SEE THE SPRAY EASILY WHILE ON A LIFT AND THE VEHICLE RUNNING. NOTHING WAS FOUND. VEHICLE TAKEN TO A SERVICE GARAGE AND THE FUEL TANK WAS DROPPED. LOOKING AT THE FUEL SENSOR UNIT ASSEMBLY IT WAS NOTICED THAT IT WAS CORRODED. WHEN CLEANING THE TOP OF THE TANK WITH AIR PRESSURE THE SENDER UNIT ASSEMBLY HAD RUSTED TO THE POINT THE AIR WAS BLOWING CHUNKS OF METAL AWAY. THE MECHANIC ADVISED THAT THE SENDER UNIT IS RECESSED INTO THE TANK WHICH ALLOWS WATER AND OTHER CONTAMINATES TO SIT ON TOP OF THE METAL AND DETERIORATE IT. THE VEHICLE HAS 56000 MILES AND IS SERVICED REGULARLY. IT WOULD SEEM IT HAD FAILED PREMATURELY OR DUE TO DESIGN FLAW. *NM

REPEATED BRAKE LIGHT FAILURES, BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT SIDES, DEALER HAS REPLACED BOTH LAMP MODULES, PROBLEM CONTINUES. BULBS WORK LOOSE DUR TO ROAD VIBRATION AND LOSE CONTACT WITH CLAMP DEVICES
LOOSE DRIVER'S SEAT BACK. DRIVER'S SEAT BACK HAS OVER 2 INCHES OF BACK AND FORTH MOVEMENT AND MAKES A "CLUNKING NOISE" UPON ACCELERATION / DECELERATION. WHEN DECELERATING, THE SEAT BACK MOVES FORWARD CAUSING THE DRIVER'S TORSO TO ALSO MOVE FORWARD. THIS CAUSES THE DRIVER TO PUT EXCESSIVE PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL WHICH CAUSES EXCEPTIONALLY HARD, FAST, AND UNCONTROLLED STOPS. SINCE THE SEAT BELT RETRACTOR IS PART OF THE SEAT BACK, THIS MAY ALSO CAUSE THE DRIVER NOT TO BE PROPERLY RETAINED TO THE SEAT IN THE EVENT OF A COLLISION. DEALER WAS NOTIFIED ON 12/7/02. TS
THE BRAKE LIGHTS HAVE FAILED, ON BOTH SIDES, ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE DEALER REPLACED THE ASSEMBLY INTO WHICH THE BULBS PLUGS INTO, ON BOTH SIDES. THE PROBLEM CONTINUES. EITHER THE BULBS BURN OUT, OR THEY BECOME LOOSE. THIS RESULTS IN LOSS OF THAT BRAKE LIGHT.
FIRST LET ME TELL YOU THAT WE ARE DIE HARD CHEVY CUSTOMERS. WE STILL OWN MY '82 CHEVY SILVERADO PICK UP AND IT'S RUNNING FINE. LAST MAY WE TRADED IN OUR LITTLE '97 CAVALIER THAT WE HAD TAKEN ON NUMEROUS TRIPS AND PRETTY MUCH TROUBLE FREE THE FIVE YEARS WE OWNED HER. THEN WE BOUGHT THE '02 TRAIL BLAZER. HAVEN'T GONE ON TOO MANY TRIPS WITH HIM YET, BUT EXCEPT FOR ONE PERFORMANCE FLAW THAT WE HAVE DISCOVERED THAT IS CAUSING US CONCERN WE LIKE THE CAR SO FAR. THE CONCERN COMES WHEN WE HAVE TO BRAKE SUDDENLY TO AVOID A HAZARD IN THE ROAD. THE CAR TENDS TO BECOME SQUIRRELIE AND FEELS AS THOUGH IT IS GOING TO FLIP OVER. RATHER FRIGHTENING WHEN YOU NEED TO REACT QUICKLY AND SUDDENLY ARE FACED WITH THIS UNSETTLING SITUATION. IS THERE OTHERS WHO ARE EXPERIANCING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR TRAIL BLAZERS?
2002 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER, AT 37K MILES THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT. DEALER REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY. AT 60K MILES, THE EXACT SAME PART ON TRANSMISSION WENT OUT AGAIN. GM AGREED TO SPLIT REPAIR AT 50/50. THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING. I WAS STRANDED OVER 100 MILES AWAY FROM HOME. NOW AT 90K MILES ON THE VEHICLE, THE EXACT SAME PART HAS GONE OUT AGAIN. I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK WHEN THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF FIRST GEAR. IT WAS A HAZARD TO MYSELF TRAVELING ON A STATE HIGHWAY WITH A SPEED LIMIT OF 55 AND THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE PAST 30 MPH. IT WILL NOT GO IN REVERSE. GM HAS SAID THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING OTHER THAN A 10% ASSISTANCE TO REPAIR. I HAVE READ A NUMBER OF OTHER TRAILBLAZER OWNER'S COMPLAINTS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE. IT SEEMS TO BE A DESIGN DEFAULT ON THE VEHICLE AND GM DOES NOT WANT TO LOOK AT IT. *JB
