B LAZER HESITATES WHEN DRIVING AND NOTICE A GAS SMELL WHEN I TURN ON BLAZER AT THE BEGINNING AND I NOTICED A LEAK INSIDE BUT WAS NOT SURE WHERE ITS COMING FROM. I CONTACTED CHEVORLET DEALER ON POSSIBLE RECALL THEY STATED ITS NOT ON THERE SYSTEM AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR DIAGNOSE AND BECAUSE OF THE MILEAGE MAYBE THEY MAY NOT BE ABLE TO FIX THIS. WHY WOULD I HAVE TO PAY FOR DIAGNOSE IF ITS SOMETHING ON THEIR END AND ITS ONLINE AS A RECALL ON BLAZERS. I THINK THIS CAN BE A HAZARD TO BE SMELLING GAS THAT FLOWS IN TO AIR SYSTEM OF THE BLAZER WHILE DRIVING.
I WAS ATTEMPTING TO BRAKE AT 60MPH. AS THE VEHICLE SLOWED IT SUDDENLY ACCELERATED DESPITE MY APPLYING THE BRAKES AS HARD AS I COULD. FINALLY, I WAS ABLE TO STOP BY SHIFTING INTO NEUTRAL WHILE STILL BRAKING HARD. I STOPPED JUST INCHES FROM THE STOPPED VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. THIS WAS A HARROWING FEW MOMENTS AND IF I HAD BEEN UNABLE TO STOP OR SLOWDOWN THE RESULT COULD HAVE BEEN TRAGIC. MY GUESS IS THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH SOME SORT OF ELECTRONIC ACCELERATOR ASSIST OR SOME COMPUTER PROBLEM WHICH HAS TO DO WITH ENGINE SPEED OR BRAKING.

ON ANOTHER OCCASION, WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO CHANGE LANES AND ANOTHER VEHICLE ATTEMPTED TO MAKE A U-TURN RESULTING IN THE CONTACT CRASHING INTO THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE HOOD CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED BY AN INDIVIDUAL. A POLICE AND A FIRE REPORT WERE FILED AND NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 148,000.

WHEN MY MECHANIC PUT MY TRUCK ON THE LIFT YESTERDAY TO CHANGE THE WATER PUMP, HE NOTICED THAT THE FRAME IS SO ROTTED THAT HE ADVISED ME NOT TO DRIVE IT.AND FOR WHO KNOWS HOW LONG, MY WIFE AND MYSELF, WHO ARE BOTH DISABLED, HAVE BEEN DRIVING THIS, PUTTING OURSELVES AND THE PUBLIC AT RISK. WHEN I BROUGHT IT TO A CHEVROLET DEALER, THEY JUST SAID, NO RECALLS ON IT, SORRY! SO NOW I HAVE TO FIGURE OUT A WAY TO GET MY WIFE AND MYSELF TO DOCTORS APPOINTMENTS, SHOPPING, AND ALL THE OTHER THINGS WE NEED A DEPENDABLE VEHICLE FOR. WAS DRIVING ABOUT AN HOUR OR SO, WHEN I SMELLED AND SEEN SMOKE COMING FROM VEHICLE. GAUGES INDICATED NOTHING WRONG WITH VEHICLE. AS I PULLED OVER, I NOTICED FIRE UNDERNEATH THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE AND ALSO COMING OUT OF HOOD OF VEHICLE AROUND THE ENGINE. TRAILBLAZER SOUNDS LIKE A JET ENGINE WITH A LOT OF "WIND" NOISE. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND FOUND THAT THE FAN CLUTCH WENT BAD. NOT ONLY IS THE FAN CLUTCH FAILING ON MULTIPLE TRAILBLAZERS BUT CHEVY MADE THIS PART SO DYNAMIC THAT THE COST IS OUTRAGEOUS. ALSO, DUE TO THE FAN CLUTCH GOING BAD IT ALSO DAMAGES THE SERPENTINE BELT. *TR
CAR IDLE WOULD GO CRAZY AT STOP SIGNS AND RD LIGHTS. DURING TAKE OFF IDLE WOULD PLUNGE AND CAR WOULD STALL OR COME VERY CLOSE TO STALLING. TOOK IT TO DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT FIX IT SINCE NO CODES SHOWED UP ON COMPUTER. I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER SHOP AND THE PROBLEM WAS THE THROTTLE BODY AND CAM POSITION SENSOR. *TR

OUR 2002 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER LOSES POWER AND THE TROUBLE LIGHTS FLASH INCLUDING THE SERVICE LIGHT AND REDUCED POWER LIGHT COME ON. I HAVE CHANGED THE 02 SENSOR, FLUSHED THE TRANSMISSION, REPLACED SPARK PLUGS AND HAD THE EMISSION SYSTEM CHECKED ALL TO NO AVAIL. OUR MECHANIC CANNOT ISOLATE THE PROBLEM AND ALL THINGS WE HAVE TRIED HAS FAILED. WE HAVE RESET THE COMPUTER SEVERAL TIMES TO NO AVAIL. THIS IS A PROBLEM AND SAFETY ISSUE. MY VEHICLE IS A 2002 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER. I AM WRITING TODAY REGARDING THE ENGINE THAT HAS FAILED THREE TIMES. THERE WERE MULTIPLE RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE INCLUDING; AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEMS, BACK TAIL LIGHTS ETC. THE ENGINE FAILED, AND WAS REPLACED BEFORE 32K MILES AND AGAIN AT 72K. NOW ON THE THIRD TIME, THE WARRANTY IS EXPIRED! WHEN WE CONTACTED GM INC. THEY ASKED US TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THERE LOCAL SHOP. THE SHOP TOOK THE VEHICLE APART AND DECIDED PER GM THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY, WHICH IS INFORMATION GM KNEW FROM THE BEGINNING. I FEEL THAT THEY ARE SHELLING THEIR RESPONSIBILITY FOR A LEMON PRODUCT THEY MADE. I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH THIS SUV. AS I REMEMBER MY TAX DOLLARS BAILED THEM OUT AND HELP GM STAY AFLOAT! I AM NOT ASKING FOR MUCH. I PAID CASH $26,544 FOR THIS GM PRODUCT. THEY GOT PAID AND THE ONLY THING I GOT IS PAIN FROM AN SUV THAT WAS DEFECTIVE FROM THE START. I CAN'T AFFORD TO FIX A TRUCK I ALREADY PAID FOR AND MAINTAINED AS THE MANUFACTURER SUGGESTED. AFTER WORKING 30 YEARS, I HAVE FALLEN ILL AND NOW I AM ON A FIXED INCOME. I AM ONLY ASKING FOR MY SUV TO BE FIXED BY GM BECAUSE THEY KNOW THIS IS A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT. TO ADD, I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE HAVING THIS ISSUE WITH MY CHEVY TRAILBLAZER. MY HEAT GAUGE WOULD SHOW FAST RISING TEMP. OF THE ENGINE. THE DEALER DID NOT BELIEVE ME WHEN I TOLD THEM IT MUST BE THE TEMP. SENDING UNIT. THEY SAID THEY NEVER GO BAD....CALLED LATER TO SAY IT WAS THE HEAT SENSOR, REPLACED IT, TORE THE THERMOSTAT OUT OF MY TRAIL BLAZER, SAID IT WAS BAD [I DON'T THINK SO], REPLACED IT AND THEN SAID I NEEDED TO HAVE MY SEVEN COMPUTERS REPROGRAMMED SO THE CAR WOULD RUN RIGHT.[I DIDN'T BELIEVE THAT EITHER]. SINCE EVERYTHING DEPENDS ON COMPUTERS TO DIAGNOSE EVERYTHING, I HAD TO HAVE THEM DO WHATEVER THE DEALER SAID. SO, I FEEL THAT I WAS RIPPED OFF FOR UNNEEDED PARTS AND SERVICE...TO THE TUNE OF $750.
