I AM EXPERIENCING A PROBLEM THAT IS INVOLVED IN A CURRENT ODI INVESTIGATION. MY 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER HAS INTERMITTENT FUEL READING FAILURES READING INCORRECTLY. THIS HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR APPROXIMATELY 7 MONTHS BUT HAS BEEN PROGRESSIVELY BECOMING MORE FREQUENT AND ALSO OCCURRING RIGHT NOW. RESEARCHING THIS PROBLEM ONLINE I DISCOVERED OVER ONE HUNDRED FORUM POSTINGS OF OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AND ALSO FOUND OUT ABOUT ODI DP 10-001. MY PROBLEM IS CURRENT AND ONGOING, FURTHER MORE IS AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION FOR THE OPEN INVESTIGATION IF REQUESTED. *TR
I CURRENTLY OWN A 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER. OVER THE PAST YEAR I HAVE A VARIETY ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH MY BLAZER. IN THE JANUARY OF 2010 I HAD TO REPLACED BY AC / HEATER AS IT SIMPLY WENT OUT. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS FIXED A CERTIFIED MECHANIC HE SHOWED US THE WIRING HARNESS THAT HAD SIMPLY MALFUNCTIONED AND MELTED ALL OF THE WIRES TOGETHER. NOW IN THE PAST THREE MONTHS MY GAS GAUGE HAS STOPPED WORKING, INDICATING THAT IT IS LOW ON FUEL OR EMPTY AND MY SPEEDOMETER IS NO LONGER FUNCTIONING. I AM VERY WORRIED ABOUT THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS AND THE RISK OF A POTENTIAL HAZARDS TO MYSELF AND MY FAMILY. *TR

THE GAS GAUGE ON MY 2005 TRAILBLAZER POINTS TO EMPTY EVEN WITH A FULL TANK OF GAS. THERE IS NO WARNING INDICATOR THAT THE GAS GAUGE IS NOT WORKING. *TR
ALL GAUGES ON MY 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER HAVE FAILED. IT APPEARS TO BE A VERY COMMON PROBLEM, AND MANY OTHER CHEVROLET MODELS USING THE SAME GAUGE CLUSTER HAVE BEEN RECALLED, BUT NOT THE TRAILBLAZER. *TR
FUEL GAUGE QUIT WORKING SO IT WAS NEVER KNOWN HOW MUCH FUEL WAS IN VEHICLE. VEHICLE COULD STALL DUE TO NOT HAVING ADEQUATE FUEL. *TR
I AM ALSO HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY SPEEDOMETER. I AM CONTACTING GENERAL MOTORS IN DETROIT TO SEE ABOUT GETTING THIS PROBLEM FIXED NOT ONLY FOR MYSELF, BUT FOR EVERYONE ELSE WHO IS HAVING THIS PROBLEM. (THEY FIXED MY FAULTY FUEL PROBLEM). *TR
SPEEDOMETER SHOWS INCORRECT READING. *TR
DRIVER'S SIDE HEADLIGHT WAS FLICKERING ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY PRIOR TO IT CEASING TO TURN ON. THE BULBS WERE REPLACED BUT THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEADLIGHT DOES NOT WORK! WE CONTACTED TWO LOCAL GARAGES AND THEY SAY THAT THIS IS A NORMAL OCCURRENCE FOR TRAILBLAZERS, AND THAT THE HEADLIGHT SOCKET NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE SEEN MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ONLINE COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE. I AM ASTOUNDED THAT THERE IS NOT A SAFETY RECALL ADDRESSING THE TOTAL LOSS OF THE USE OF THE HEADLIGHTS! I WOULD THINK THAT NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE AT NIGHT WOULD BE A DEFINITE SAFETY RISK! *TR
HEADLIGHTS FLICKER AND THEN GO OUT LEAVING NO DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS OR HEADLIGHTS FOR NIGHT, RAIN OR SNOWY CONDITIONS. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO FIX WITHOUT TAKING IN, 2 LOCAL GARAGES IMMEDIATELY KNEW WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS AND DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TO ORDER THE PARTS. *TR
PURCHASED FULL TANK OF GAS AND THE GAUGE GOES TO EMPTY, WHICH MEANS THE TANK IS SHOWN TO BE ON EMPTY; UNABLE TO TELL AMOUNT OF GAS IN VEHICLE; OTHER GAUGES WORK IMPROPERLY, INCLUDING RADIO KNOB WHICH CONTINUES TO TURN ENDLESSLY, WIRES IN RADIO POPS; OIL GAUGE ON 60 OR ABOVE. *TR
THE VEHICLE'S FUEL GAUGE STOPPED WORKING ON A LONG CROSS COUNTRY TRIP. *TR
MY SPEEDOMETER HAS FAILED ON MY 2005 TRAILBLAZER WITH 67,000 MILES ON IT. IT STARTED MALFUNCTIONING IN DEC.09 INTERMITTENTLY. NOW THE DEFECT SEEMS PERMANENT. MY CHEVY DEALERSHIP SAYS GM WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THE PROBLEM. I ESCALADES. WHY WAS THE TRAILBLAZER NOT INCLUDED WHEN THEY EXHIBIT THE SAME PROBLEM WITH INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FAILURES. IS IT BECAUSE IT IS TOO LARGE A PROBLEM TO DEAL WITH. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE WHEN THE SPEEDOMETER IS INCORRECT. THERE ARE TOO MANY FAILURES TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM DISREGARDED BY GM. THIS IS AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR(ABOUT 5-600 DOLLARS).THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS ARE SO GREAT THAT I FEEL GM IS DUCKING THE PROBLEM. I CAN UNDERSTAND WHY GM NEEDED A GOVERNMENT BAILOUT BY MANUFACTURING VEHICLES HAVING SUCH A GRIEVOUS PROBLEM. INSTRUMENT CLUSTERS SUCH NOT BE FAILING AT SUCH A HORRENDOUS RATE. *TR
THE SPEEDOMETER ON MY 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER STOPPED FUNCTIONING. IT IS NOW STUCK BELOW THE ZERO MARK, IN BETWEEN 0 AND 120. THE CAR HAS ABOUT 56,000 MILES ON IT. THIS SEEMS TO BE A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH THIS MAKE. IT IS COMPLETELY UNSAFE, AND I AM NOT SURE WHAT TO DO. *TR
I HAVE OWNED MY 2005 TRAILBLAZER FOR A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AND THE LAST 4 MONTHS I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY SPEEDOMETER. SOMETIMES IT WORKS OTHERS IT WILL SHOW YOU ARE DOING 4 X THE SPEED LIMIT. THIS IS A REAL PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED BY GM.
MY SPEEDOMETER DROPPED TO ZERO AS I WAS CROSSING RAILROAD TRACKS, AND MY CD PLAYER STOPPED ACCEPTING CD'S DURING THAT SAME TIME PERIOD FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THE GAUGE LATER STUCK AT FIRST 20 - 15 MPH, AND THEN TO 10 MPH WHEN THE SUV IS STOPPED. AFTER ABOUT 2 MONTHS, IT CORRECTED ITSELF. THE GAS GAUGE THEN WENT OUT. IT WOULD REGISTER THE TANK AS EMPTY NO MATTER IF IT WAS FILLED. THIS BEGAN 2/2010. I, A DISABLED DRIVER, HAVE RUN OUT OF GAS ON A DESERTED ROAD 12:15 A.M. IN THE WINTER DUE TO HAVING TO CALCULATE MILES DRIVEN WITH THE TACHOMETER TO DETERMINE APPROXIMATE GAS CONSUMPTION. UNFORTUNATELY, THAT CALCULATION DOESN'T ACCOUNT FOR ENGINE IDLING IN TRAFFIC JAMS . I SAT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD IN MY COLD SUV PRAYING NO ONE CAME AROUND THE CURVE AND SLAMMED INTO ME SINCE I RAN OUT OF GAS IN THE MIDDLE OF A DARK RURAL ROAD. I WAS TERRIFIED IN THIS SITUATION AND RARELY DRIVE AT NIGHT IF I CAN HELP IT BECAUSE OF THE MANUFACTURER'S KNOWN DEFECT AND NEGLIGENCE. I HAVE PAID OVER $500 TO REPAIR THESE MANUFACTURES DEFECTS, ONLY TO HAVE THEM MALFUNCTION AGAIN WITHIN 1 WEEK OF REPAIR. I WAS TOLD BY THE MECHANIC THAT HE WOULD NOT ATTEMPT TO FIX IT A SECOND TIME. ONCE AGAIN, MY SPEEDOMETER IS NO LONGER REGISTERING THE CORRECT SPEED, AND I HAVE BEEN PULLED OVER BY A POLICE OFFICER FOR SPEEDING. I SHOWED THE OFFICER MY SPEEDOMETER, AND TO MY SURPRISE HE LET ME OFF WITH A WARNING AND TOLD ME THAT HE HAS PULLED OVER OTHER TRAILBLAZER DRIVERS FOR SPEEDING WHO IN TURN HAD THE SAME OR SIMILAR ISSUES WITH THEIR SPEEDOMETERS. I HAVE HAD INTERIOR LIGHTS MALFUNCTION, AND DRIVER SIDE HEAD LIGHT MALFUNCTIONS WHERE THE LIGHT KEEPS GOING OUT. THE HEADLIGHT WAS CHECKED BY A MECHANIC AND WAS NOT DEEMED LOOSE OR BLOWN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE SPEEDOMETER WILL NOT DISPLAY THE ACCURATE SPEED OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALERSHIP. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 55736. UPDATED 01/20/10 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE PROBLEM INITIALLY HAPPENED WHEN THE CRUISE CONTROL SET. THE SPEEDOMETER CLIMBED TO 110 MPH, NOT THE VEHICLE JUST THE SPEEDOMETER. THE SPEEDOMETER WAS ERRATIC. OFTEN, WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN PARK, THE SPEEDOMETER WILL REGISTER 90 MPH. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER A CLUSTER WAS NEEDED. UPDATED 01/22/10.*JB

FUEL SENSOR WENT OUT. WELL KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE TRAILBLAZER/ENVOY. GAS GAUGE SHOWED EMPTY AFTER FILLING WITH 18 GALLONS OF FUEL. REPAIR COST OVER $500. *TR
SPEEDOMETER STOPPED WORKING WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. THE ONLY REASON I FOUND OUT WAS CHP STOPPED ME FOR GOING 45 MPH. ONCE I BEGAN TO SLOWDOWN THE SPEEDOMETER JUMPED TO OVER 100MPH! I EXPLAINED THE SITUATION AND HE FOLLOWED ME TO THE NEXT EXIT WHERE I LET THE CAR REST. HE KNEW I NEED TO LET THE CAR REST BECAUSE HE HAD PULLED OVER ANOTHER TRAILBLAZER WITH THE SAME PROBLEM!! *TR
2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER GOING HAYWIRE, SPEEDOMETER SAYING YOU ARE GOING 80MPH WHILE YOU ARE NOT EVEN MOVING. YOU HAVE TO GUESS ON HOW FAST YOU ARE GOING. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER LS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER REGISTERED A SPEED OF 120 MPH; ALTHOUGH SHE WAS DRIVING 60 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER (AS ADVISED BY THE MANUFACTURER) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WAS DEFECTIVE. THE MANUFACTURER REFUSED TO ASSIST WITH THE REPAIR EXPENSES. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED WHEN THE COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 77,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 79,369.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL SPORADICALLY AND WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT DENIED ANY ASSISTANCE WITH REPAIRS TO THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 40,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
I HAVE A 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER. I PURCHASED SAID VEHICLE AT THE END OF JULY-BEGINNING OF AUGUST 2007. I HAVE THOROUGHLY ENJOYED THE EXPERIENCE OF OWNING A CHEVY DUE TO NOT HAVING ANY ISSUES...WELL THAT WAS UNTIL DECEMBER 2009. I BEGAN NOTICING THAT MY GAS GAUGE WAS MALFUNCTIONING. I WOULD FILL UP THE TANK BUT IT WOULD READ EMPTY, AND THAT PROBLEM HAS BEEN ONGOING SINCE MY DISCOVERY. I CURRENTLY HAVE TO READ MY MILEAGE TO KNOW WHEN TO PUT GAS IN MY TANK. ADDITIONALLY, I HAVE RAN OUT OF GAS TWICE AND BOTH TIMES PUTTING MYSELF IN HARMS WAY AND DAMAGING MY FUEL PUMP (WHICH IS COSTLY). JUST TWO DAYS AGO I RAN OUT OF GAS ON A BUSY STREET, I DIDN'T PANIC, BUT I WAS A BIT NERVOUS. I HIT THE HAZARDS, AND PULLED UP MY EMERGENCY BRAKE (BECAUSE BRAKES AND STEERING WIELD FROZE UP). THE VEHICLE BEHIND ME SLAMMED ON BREAKS JUST MISSING ME BY INCHES. THIS IS NO WAY TO LIVE AND DRIVE. I'M SCARED TO GO OUT OF TOWN OR TAKE BACK ROADS BECAUSE I MAY GIVE OUT OF GAS IN AN AREA WHERE THERE IS NO CELL PHONE TOWER OR LOW TO NO SIGNALS. THIS HAS PUT ME IN A VERY BAD SPACE. *TR
2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER FUEL LEVEL SENSOR MALFUNCTION CAUSING GAS GAUGE LIGHT TO STAY ON ALL OF THE TIME. WIFE RAN OUT OF FUEL ON HIGHWAY. VERY DANGEROUS!!! *TR
THE CLUSTER, AS I HAVE BEEN INFORMED BY A GM SPECIALIST, IS DEFECTIVE ON MY 2005 TRAILBLAZER. THE PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAUSES ME UNDUE STRESS BECAUSE I AM NEVER CERTAIN OF THE AMOUNT OF GAS I HAVE AND THE OIL METER GIVES MISREADING. I TRAVEL ALONE MOST OF THE TIME AND WITH THE UNCERTAINTY OF THE GAS, IT IS ALWAYS A FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCE. THIS ALL STARTED IN 12/12/09 AND RECENTLY GM HAD ME GO THROUGH THE PROCESS, AS IF THEY DID NOT ALREADY KNOW THE ISSUES WITH THESE VEHICLES, TO A TUNE OF $100 PLUS DOLLARS AT MY COST. AFTER THE INSPECTION WAS COMPLETE, I WAS INFORMED THAT DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF MILEAGE, SLIGHTLY PASS 67K WHEN I CONTACTED THEM AND AT THE TIME THEY WERE INFORMED THAT MY EXTENDED WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED, I WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT. I THINK THAT THE ISSUE WITH THEM REFUSING TO MAKE AMENDS REGARDING THE VEHICLE AND THEN TO HAVE MY PAY MONEY WAS A TRUE FORM OF DECEPTION. I CAN NOT KNOW THE ACCURATE SPEED, THE GAS NEEDLE SWAYS FROM LEFT TO RIGHT AND THE OIL NEEDLE, EVEN DURING FREEZING TEMPS, IS ALWAYS BEYOND THE CORRECT POINT. THIS IS A SLAP IN THE FACE TO ME, A CONSUMER, AND THEY WILL NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE IN REMEDYING THE PROBLEM. SO, YES, IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE I BOUGHT A VEHICLE FOR DEPENDABILITY AND THIS ONE DOES NOT AFFORD THAT TO ME AND THEIR REFUSAL IS SICKENING. I HAVE NO TRUST IN ANY OF THE GAUGES BECAUSE I QUESTION THE ACCURACY OF THEM AND TOO, THE SPEEDOMETER COULD REALLY LEAD TO GETTING TICKETS OR WORSE. *TR

THE GAS GAUGE QUIT WORKING, FOR NO APPARENT REASON. FIRST IT WOULD WORK ONCE IN A WHILE THEN IT QUIT ALL TOGETHER. WHEN I QUESTIONED THE GM/CHEVY DEALER, THEY QUOTED ME A HUGE PRICE. NOW THAT GM IS OFFERING TO PAY 1/2 THE PRICE HAS WENT DOWN DRASTICALLY. THE ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON, I THINK THIS VEHICLE HAS MORE ISSUES THAN A PERSON WILL EVER KNOW. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE BOTH WHEEL HUB BEARINGS EARLIER THAN I EXPECTED. THIS ENTIRE THING HAS COST ME MORE THAN IT SHOULD EVER. THEY (GM) SAY THAT THE FUEL SENSOR IS A WEAR AND TEAR, BUT HOW DO THEY KNOW THAT, WE CAN'T CHECK IT LIKE WE DO TIRES, WIPERS, ETC. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY THAT GM IS GETTING SOME CUSTOMERS HAPPY, AND YET STILL TAKING ADVANTAGE OF US. FORD FINDS A PROBLEM THEY FIX IT. WITH ALL THE BAIL OUT MONEY THAT HAS BEEN GIVEN- OUR TAX DOLLARS THEY -GM SHOULD BE PAYING FOR THE WHOLE PROBLEM. *TR
MY SPEEDOMETER IN MY 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER HAS STARTED NOT WORKING ON OCCASION. IT WILL WORK ONLY AFTER I TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND LET IT SIT A BIT. THIS IS VERY DISTURBING TO ME DUE TO THE FACT THAT I AM A VERY SAFE DRIVER AND WHEN THIS HAPPENS I FEEL I AM A THREAT TO OTHERS ON THE ROAD. *TR

MY 2005 TRAILBLAZER INSTRUMENT PANEL CONSTANTLY FAILS - THE SPEEDOMETER STOPS WORKING WHICH IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE GAS GAUGE HAS BEEN FIXED ONCE ALREADY AND IS NOW BROKEN AGAIN. THE VEHICLE HAS POWER SURGES WHICH IS ANOTHER SAFETY ISSUE. THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS THE CAR UP AND DOWN WHEN TRYING TO SLOW DOWN CAUSING POWER SURGES. THIS IS ANOTHER SAFETY ISSUE. THE FOLLOWING ARE OTHER ISSUES WHICH THIS MODEL VEHICLE: STEREO CD PLAYER STOPPED WORKING, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON WHEN THE GAS CAP LIGHT, THE LIGHTS FLICKER ALSO. I OUGHT THIS VEHICLE USED AND WITH A CRACKED FRONT BUMPER WHICH THE DEALER DIDN'T FIX (DEALER STUCK A LITTLE BONDO ON AREA AND REPAINTED IT SO I THOUGHT IT WAS A NEW BUMPER WHEN I ACCEPTED THE CAR AFTER REPAIR. IT CRACKED IN A MATTER OF DAYS) AND I KNOW THIS WAS CAUSED DUE TO THE SURGES IN POWER. A SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE. THE VEHICLE HAS SERIOUS ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS THE CHEVROLET SHOULD STAND BEHIND AND FIX. IT IS NOT FAIR TO THE CONSUMER. I HAVE CHECKED THE WEB AND HAVE READ MANY, MANY OTHER SIMILAR COMPLAINTS. CHEVY OWNERS SHOULD FILL A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST CHEVROLET IF THEY DON'T DO A RECALL AND FIX THESE PROBLEMS. I EXPERIENCE A FENDER BENDER ACCIDENT WHEN MY VEHICLE DIDN'T STOP AND BUMPED ANOTHER CARS BACK BUMPER CAUSING AN ACCIDENT AND AN INSURANCE CLAIM. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT ALSO NOTICED THAT THE OIL LEVEL INDICATOR STOPPED WORKING PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 72660.
2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER GAS GAUGE READS EMPTY WHEN FULL AND MOVES UP AND DOWN PERIODICALLY. WE NEVER KNOW HOW MUCH FUEL WE HAVE ANOTHER DEFECT THE VEHICLE HAS IS THAT IF WE TURN THE HEADLIGHTS OFF DURING THE DAY IT CAUSES A SHORT IN THE TAILLIGHTS .AFTER THE SAME THING HAPPENING 3 TIMES ,I NOTICED THE PATTERN AND MY WIFE BEING PULLED OVER AND TICKETED MADE ME PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THIS PATTERN. I HAVE A 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER WITH 50,000 MILES. STARTING A COUPLE MONTHS AGO THE SPEEDOMETER REGULARLY MALFUNCTIONS AND GIVES ME THE WRONG SPEED. GM REFUSES TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM AND TELLS ME I HAVE TO SPEND $125 TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM AND POSSIBLY OVER $500 TO ULTIMATELY FIX THE PROBLEM THE PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED TO MANY 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER OWNERS AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. *TR
FIRST WAS THE RIGHT TAIL LIGHT CAUGHT FIRE AND BLEW FUSES, THEN I GET POWER SURGES THAT CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE RANDOMLY AT THE WORST TIMES AND/OR WILL ALSO STALL OUT, WHICH CAN BE POTENTIALLY VERY DANGEROUS OR END IN A FATAL ACCIDENT, IT DROPS IN RPMS AND LIGHTS DIM THEN IT ACCELERATES... AND THE LAST THING IS THAT THE FUEL GAUGE FLUCTUATES DRAMATICALLY AND YOU CAN NEVER TELL HOW MUCH FUEL YOU REALLY HAVE... DRIVE 10 MILES AT QUARTER OF A TANK AND IT EITHER STAYS CLOSE TO THE SAME SPOT OR DROPS AND THE LIGHT COMES ON FOR LOW FUEL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. TWO FUEL LINES WERE LEAKING FUEL. THIS FAILURE COULD CAUSE A FIRE WITHIN THE FUEL TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT A LOCAL REPAIR FACILITY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,000. UPDATED 01/29/10.*LJ BOTH FUEL LINES HAD MULTIPLE PIN HOLE LEAKS. FUEL WAS LEAKING NEAR THE ENGINE AND CATALYTIC CONVERTER. MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT ABOUT 65-70 MPH. ALL OF A SUDDEN IT DROPPED DOWN TO 40 AND WE IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER AND TURNED OFF THE IGNITION. THE NEEDLE WAS STILL READING 40. WE WERE THREE HOURS FROM HOME AND HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO CONTINUE DRIVING. ONCE WE GOT WITHIN AN HOUR FROM OUR HOUSE IT STARTED WORKING CORRECTLY. THREE DAYS AGO I WAS DRIVING BY MYSELF AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN. THE NEEDLE IS STUCK ON 60 MPH AND MY CAR IS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY. PLEASE ADDRESS THIS ISSUE ASAP I DON'T THINK I SHOULD BE DRIVING AROUND IN A VEHICLE THAT ISN'T OPERATING CORRECTLY JUST BECAUSE I DIDN'T CHOOSE TO BUY AN ESCALADE, TAHOE, OR SUBURBAN. MY 2005 TRAILBLAZER'S SPEEDOMETER WILL STOP WORKING WHILE I AM DRIVING. IT SEEMS AS THOUGH IT GETS TOO HOT EITHER FROM THE HEATER BEING ON OR IF I AM DRIVING A LONG DISTANCE AND IT WILL HIT A CERTAIN POINT AND THE SPEEDOMETER WILL JUST STOP WORKING. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED I WAS ON MY WAY TO CALIFORNIA FOR THANKSGIVING AND IN THE MIDDLE OF MY DRIVE I LOOKED DOWN AND I HAD TAKEN MY FOOT OFF THE GAS AND INSTEAD OF MY TRAILBLAZER SLOWING DOWN THE SPEEDOMETER KEPT RAISING. I HAD TO RELY ON MY SPEED BY MY RPM'S. I WAS ABLE TO USE THE FUSE BOX TO RESET THE SPEEDOMETER AND IT STARTED WORKING AGAIN FOR ONLY A SHORT TIME AND THEN IT STOPPED WORKING AGAIN. I HAD TO REPEAT THIS PROCESS ABOUT 5 TIMES THAT WEEKEND. SINCE THANKSGIVING WEEKEND IT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL MORE TIMES ONLY INSTEAD OF RAISING IN SPEED THE SPEEDOMETER WILL STAY BETWEEN 0-30 MILES PER HOUR WHEN ACCORDING TO MY RPM'S I SHOULD BE GOING ABOUT 65 OR 70 MPH. I CAN TURN OFF MY TRAILBLAZER AND LET IT COOL OFF AND THEN THE SPEEDOMETER WILL START WORKING AGAIN. I HAVE FOUND SEVERAL PLACES ONLINE WHERE TRAILBLAZER OWNERS HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM. IT WILL COST SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS TO FIX, BUT IF OTHER TRAILBLAZERS ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM THEN THERE IS OBVIOUSLY A DEFECT WITH THE SPEEDOMETER WHICH SHOULD BECOME A NATIONAL RECALL. IT IS NOT FUN DRIVING AND THINKING YOU ARE GOING ONE SPEED WHEN YOU ARE NOT, AND I AM SURPRISED THERE HAVEN'T BEEN MULTIPLE CAR ACCIDENTS FROM THIS PROBLEM. THE DRIVER'S ELECTRICAL PANEL SHOULD NOT FAIL IN A CAR AND THAT IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN!!!! *TR
THE SPEEDOMETER IN MY 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER HAS BROKEN AND I ONLY HAVE 45,000 MILES ON MY VEHICLE. I HEARD ABOUT A RECALL OR GETTING ASSISTANCE FROM GM TO REPLACE BUT LEARNED IT IS ONLY FOR TAHOE'S, SUBURBAN'S AND TRUCKS. I DON'T FEEL THAT IS FAIR THEY WON'T HELP ME AND THAT A SPEEDOMETER SHOULD NOT WEAR OUT THAT QUICKLY. REPLACEMENT COST CAN BE $600 - $800. *TR

THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH AND NOTICED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE DISPLAYED A READING OF EMPTY, AFTER GASOLINE WAS ADDED TO THE FUEL TANKS CAPACITY, THE FUEL GAUGE CONSISTENTLY INDICATED THAT IT WAS EMPTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHENEVER THE VEHICLES COMPUTERIZED SYSTEM WAS RESET THERE WOULD BE AN ACCURATE READING. CURRENTLY, THE FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT PROVIDE AN ACCURATE READING AFTER BEING RESET. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 58,000.

I FILLED UP MY CHEVY WITH A FULL TANK OF GAS WHEN IT HAD ABOUT 1/4 OF A TANK LEFT. I GOT IN THE CAR AND IT STILL SAID I HAD 1/4 OF A TANK. I PULLED OVER AFTER DRIVING ABOUT 5 MINUTES AND SHUT OFF THE CAR, TURNED IT BACK ON, AND NOW IT WAS SHOWING EMPTY. SOMETIMES OUT OF NOWHERE IT WILL SHOW ME AT ABOUT JUST ABOVE EMPTY, EVEN IF I HAVE JUST FILLED UP, BUT IT HAS ONLY DONE THIS A FEW TIMES. I PURCHASED A 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER IN MARCH 2005, SINCE THAN THE FOLLOWING ITEMS HAS BEEN REPLACED, JUST TO NAME A FEW: FUEL TANK LEVEL SENSOR (33,104 MILES), HO@ SENSOR SHORTED (20,205 MILES), BEARING IN IDLER PULLEY (25,233 MILES), IDLER PULLEY BEARING FAILURE (47,500 MILES), INTERNAL CLUTCH CIRCUIT (33,896 MILES), FUEL CAP REPLACED THREE TIMES, REPLACED WATER PUMP (63,911 MILES), AIR PUMP RELAY (77,000 MILES). THE 'LIGHT UNIT' HAS BEEN REPLACED, I WAS DRIVING AND THE LIGHTS ON THE RADIO, DOORS AND OTHER ITEMS WENT OUT. THE VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS 80,000 MILES AND I HAVE TO REPLACE THE FUEL TANK LEVEL SENSOR AGAIN. I HAVE BEEN ATTEMPTING TO GET GMC TO RECALL THE VEHICLES, BECAUSE OF THE DANGER INVOLVED WITH THE SENSOR UNIT SENDING THE WRONG SIGNAL, MEANING THE TANK COULD BE WITHIN A HALF OF A GALLON FROM BEING EMPTY, BUT THE FUEL GAUGE IS READING FULL. IT APPEARS THAT GM IS WAITING FOR MULTIPLE DEATHS TO OCCUR BEFORE THEY CONSIDER THIS AS BEING AN ITEM THAT COULD CAUSE THE DEATH OF SEVERAL MOTORISTS. *TR
HEADLIGHTS INTERMITTENTLY 'FLASH' FOR A SECOND DURING FIRST 5-10 MINUTES OF DRIVING. HAVE REPLACED ALTERNATOR AND IDLER PULLEY. GM SUGGESTS LETTING VEHICLE IDLE 1+ MINUTE AFTER START BEFORE ENGAGING GEAR; THIS SOMETIMES WORKS. DANGEROUS AND DISTRACTING TO OTHER MOTORISTS, AS IT APPEARS TO THEM LIKE MY VEHICLE IS FLASHING ITS HIGHBEAMS. *TR

OIL GAUGE HAS ALSO BECOME ERRATIC; AND GOES FROM SHOWING NO OIL PRESSURE TO LOW OIL PRESSURE TO VERY HIGH PRESSURE. HAVE TO PULL OVER IMMEDIATELY AND CHECK OIL LEVEL AT SIDE OF ROAD OR WHERE EVER AVAILABLE TO DO SO AT TIME. NOT ALWAYS SAFE AREA TO PULL OFF. BOTH ISSUES CREATE VERY HAZARDOUS AND DANGEROUS SITUATIONS FOR THE DRIVER AND PASSENGERS IN THE VEHICLE.
