I was sold this vehicle with a corroded frame and was untold of this issue
DRIVING ON FREEWAY AT A CRUISE CONTROL SPEED OF 70 MPH WITHOUT ANY WARNING LIGHTS OR MALFUNCTIONS WITH THE TRUCK, WHITE SMOKE WAS NOTED FROM BEHIND THE TRUCK. SMOKE IMMEDIATELY BECAME WORSE AND TRUCK WAS PULLED OFF ON SIDE OF ROAD. SMOKE WAS NOTED COMING FROM UNDER FRONT HOOD AS WELL. DRIVER THEN SAW FLAMES COMING UP DRIVER SIDE WINDOW. DRIVER RAN FROM VEHICLE AND IT WAS CONSUMED IN FIRE. THE WHOLE VEHICLE WAS A FIRE BOMB AND DESTROYED. NO INJURY WAS SUSTAINED BY DRIVER AS OF NEXT DAY EXCEPT TO SAY SHOCK AND EMOTIONAL TRAUMA. DRIVER SIDE DOOR SWITCH FOR SAFETY RECALL OF POSSIBLE FIRE WAS DONE AND SERVICED ON APRIL 2015. TRUCK WAS IN THE SHOP THE PREVIOUS DAY FOR A TIE ROD REPAIR, OIL CHANGE, AND TIRE ROTATION. MECHANIC SAID THE TRUCK LOOKED IN GOOD SHAPE WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS NOTED ON THE VEHICLE. I HAVE PICTURES ON MY PHONE OF A BALL OF FIRE THAT WAS THE TRUCK.
ON AUGUST 2014, GENERAL MOTOR DECIDED THAT A DEFECT WHICH RELATES DRIVER'S DOOR WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY IT WAS TO BE REPLACED A SAFETY RELATED DEFECT CORROSION THAT COULD RESULT IN A SHORT IN THE CIRCUIT BOARD CAUSING THE POWER DOOR LOCK'S AND WINDOW SWITCHES TO FUNCTION INTERMITTENTLY OR STOP WORKING IN NOVEMBER OF 2014 AT THE ROCHESTER ,MN DEALER WAS TO INSTALL A NEW DOOR MODULE AT NO CHARGE TO ME THE CHEVROLET DEALER ROCHESTER , SAID THEY PERFORMED THE SERVICE THAT NOVEMBER 2014 BUT AS OF TODAY THE POWER DOOR 'S LOCK AND WINDOW SWITCHES ARE DOING JUST WHAT THE RECALL SAID AFTER THE SERVICE WAS PERFORMED SHOULD NOT DO SO ON JULY 2015 I RETUNE TO THE DEALER AND TOLD THEM ABOUT THE LOCK AND WINDOW SWITCHES NOT WORKING AND WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER I NEED TO PAY $130.00 DOLLARS OR MORE TO HAVE THEM FIX THE PROBLEM I TOLD THE ROCHESTER ,DEALER IT WAS ON A RECALL TO BE FIX AT A NO CHARGE TO MYSELF AND WAS TOLD THEY DID FIX THE PROBLEM BACK IN 2014 NOW THE $130.00 IS TO SEE WHY THE PROBLEM IS BACK !!

MY CAR GOT ON FIRE YESTERDAY FROM THE COVLER COMPARMENT INSIDE THE PASSENGER SIDE! I WANT TO KNOW IF MY CAR IS ON RECALL PLEASE HELP ME THANK YOU. *TR
WHILE ATTEMPTING TO GET MY SON FROM THE VEHICLE, THE LEFT REAR PASSENGER HANDLE ASSEMBLY PULLED AWAY FROM THE DOOR HOUSING AND INTO MY HAND. THE LINKAGE REMAINED INTACT, SO I PUSHED THE HANDLE BACK INTO PLACE AND LUCKILY WAS ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE. UPON BORESCOPE REVIEW, THE MOUNTING BRACKET TO WHICH THE HANDLE FASTENED WAS SO BADLY CORRODED THAT IT DISINTEGRATED WHEN I CLOSED THE DOOR AND DROPPED TO THE BOTTOM OF IT. MIND YOU NOW THAT THIS CORROSION TOOK PLACE INSIDE THE DOOR HOUSING AS THE DOOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY IS NOT SEALED WHATSOEVER FROM THE EXTERIOR ELEMENTS (AND GM WONDERS WHY THE RECENT DOOR.WINDOW SWITCH RECALL OCCURRED). UPON REVIEW OF THE RIGHT SIDE REAR PASSENGER DOOR, I NOTICED THE SAME RUST STAINING BELOW THAT HANDLE (VEHICLE IS WHITE, SO CONTRAST IS GOOD) SO IT IS LIKLEY ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THAT FAILS AS WELL. I CONTACTED CHEVY, WAS ASSIGNED A CASE NUMBER & TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERS FOR REQUIRED ASSESSMENT. WAS CALLED THE NEXT DAY BY CHEVY AND TOLD THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, HOWEVER THEY COULD NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE "DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE CLIMATE WHERE I LIVE" (NORTHEAST). I QUESTIONED THEIR RATIONALE AND ASKED THEM IF THEY SOLD SPECIFIC VEHICLES TO NE CUSTOMERS - THEIR REPLY WAS "NO". I AGAIN REITERATED THAT THE CORROSION TOOK PLACE ON THE INSIDE OF THE DOOR, NOT THE EXTERIOR - HOWEVER THE SCRIPTED RESPONSE FROM CSR WAS THE SAME. I STRONGLY URGE NHTSA TO INVESTIGATE THIS PROBLEM FURTHER AS IT IS A DEFINITIVE SAFETY ISSUE IN EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT IN WHICH MY CHILDREN WOULD HAVE TO BE RAPIDLY EXTRACTED FROM THE VEHICLE AND THE FIRST RESPONDER IS SITTING THERE WITH A FAULTY HANDLE IN HIS HAND. YES, THEY COULD BREAK THE WINDOW, BUT TRY TELLING A 1 & 3 YEAR OLD TO CLOSE THEIR EYES AND TURN THEIR HEAD AND SEE IF COMPLIANCE IS ATTAINED! *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE LATCH WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

I HAVE A 2006 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER EXT. I WAS DRIVING AROUND AND IT WAS PRETTY WINDY. I NOTICED THAT THERE SEEMED TO BE ALOT OF AIR COMING IN THRU THE REAR HATCH. WHEN I OPENED THE GLASS ON THE REAR HATCH I NOTICED THAT THE HINGE HAD COME UNGLUED FROM THE WINDOW. SINCE IT WAS WINDY IT ALSO CAUSED SOME OF THE OTHER HINGES TO CRACK AND BREAK WHERE THE 3RD BRAKE LIGHT IS LOCATED. I HAD TO FORCIBLY CLOSE THE REAR WINDOW AND NOW IT IS ONLY BEING HELD BY ONE HINGE ON THE RIGHT SIDE AND IN THE LOWER MIDDLE WHERE IT CLOSES AND LOCKS. CHEVY SAYS THAT IT'LL COST ME OVER $1,300 TO GET FIXED SINCE IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. IT ONLY HAS 53,000 MILES ON IT. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY ADVISED HER THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND THEY COULD NOT ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH IN THE RAIN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE STARTED SHAKING AND THE RAIN GUARD TRIM KIT ON THE TAILGATE BROKE AND WAS HANGING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND REMOVED THE TRIM KIT SINCE IT COULD HAVE FALLEN OFF OF THE VEHICLE AND HIT SOMEONE'S VEHICLE AND CAUSED A CRASH. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THERE WAS NO REASON THAT THE TRIM KIT SHOULD HAVE BROKEN OFF OF THE VEHICLE BECAUSE IT WAS NOT DAMAGED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE CONTACT WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR SINCE THE WARRANTY EXPIRED AND THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE CONTACT STATED THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIRS SINCE THE FAILURE WAS A DESIGN DEFECT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,000.
THE GLUE THAT HOLDS THE REAR WINDOW ON THE VEHICLE SEPARATES FROM THE WINDOW, CAUSING THE WINDOW TO BLOW OUT. WE NOTICED THE WINDOW WAS LOPSIDED SO WE OPENED IT AND FOUND THAT ONE SIDE OF THE WINDOW HAD COME UNGLUED. WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THIS MORNING AND THEY SAID IT COULDN'T BE REGLUED - IT WOULD HAVE TO BE COMPLETELY REPLACED. CHEVY WON'T COVER IT BECAUSE IT'S OUT OF WARRANTY. WE LEFT AND HE CALLED US WITH THE QUOTE OF $1000 FOR REPLACEMENT. JUST A FEW MINUTES LATER, THE ENTIRE WINDOW BLEW OUT. IT SHATTERED GLASS ALL OVER THE ROAD AND VEHICLE, EVEN HITTING US IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD. LUCKILY OUR DAUGHTER WAS NOT IN THE CAR. THE PLASTIC COVER THAT SITS OVER THE TOP OF THE WINDOW FLEW OFF THE BACK AND INTO TRAFFIC. THERE WAS A CAR BEHIND US BUT THERE WASN'T MUCH TRAFFIC SO THEY MANAGED TO AVOID BEING HIT. NO ONE WAS HURT WHEN IT EXPLODED BUT IT COULD VERY EASILY HAVE HURT SOMEONE IN THE BACK SEAT OR IN VEHICLES BEHIND US. *TR
I OWN A 2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT, DURING THE SUMMER HEAT I OPENED THE TOP PART OF THE BACK HATCH (THE GLASS AREA) AND THE ENTIRE LEFT SIDE OF THE HATCH DETACHED FROM THE CAR, LIFTING THE PLASTIC MOLDING ON TOP OF THE VEHICLE HOLDING THE 3RD BRAKE LIGHT. THE BOTTOM PART OF THIS "HINGE" WAS ONLY ATTACHED WITH AN ADHESIVE WHICH OBVIOUSLY MELTED FROM THE FLORIDA HEAT AND DISASSEMBLED. AT THIS POINT I CAN NO LONGER LIFT THE BACK GLASS OR THE ENTIRE REAR HATCH. CHEVROLET WILL NOT REPAIR OR COMPENSATE US FOR REPAIR OF THIS ISSUE AS THE VEHICLE IS NOW OUT OF WARRANTY. THEY STATED THAT THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM ON SOME TAHOES, YUKONS AND TRAILBLAZERS AND IT WOULD COST AROUND $1700 TO FIX THIS "DEFECT". *TR
AT 33,000 MILES THE CHEVY BOWTIE EMBLEM ON THE REAR OF THE CAR WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY, AT 35,000 MILES THE FRONT ONE WAS REPLACED. BOTH HAD DETERIORATED ON THEIR OWN. NOW AT 49,000 MILES THEY ARE DETERIORATING AGAIN. THESE SHOULD STILL BE REPLACED AT DEALERS/GM COST. *TR

THE REAR CENTER BRAKE LIGHT COVER ASSEMBLY LOCATED ABOVE THE REAR HATCH FAILS. I NEED TO HAVE IT REPLACED. I HAVE ALREADY HAD IT REPLACED ONCE. THIS WILL BE THE 3RD ONE THAT WILL BE ON THIS VEHICLE. I CONTACTED GM BUT THEY SAID THEY HAVE NO COMPLAINTS AND OFFERED NO HELP EXCEPT TO CHECK WITH MY DEALER. I TRIED OUT A FEW OTHER TRAILBLAZERS AND FOUND THE SAME WIND NOISE ISSUE.
