I WOKE UP ONE MORNING TO A SMOKY GARAGE AND NOTICED MY DRIVER DOOR MODULE HAD CAUGHT ON FIRE, LUCKILY THE WHOLE TRUCK DID NOT CATCH ON FIRE IN MY GARAGE WHILE MY FAMILY AND I WERE INSIDE OUR HOME SLEEPING. I CAN NO LONGER CONTROL THE POWER WINDOWS AND LOCKS IN MY TRUCK. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL CHEVY DEALER AND THEY TRIED CHARGING ME NEARLY $1000.00 FOR A MODULE AND DOOR PANEL REPLACEMENT AND NOTIFIED ME THERE WERE NO SUCH RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE AT THIS TIME. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST INCIDENT I ALSO HAD ANOTHER FIRE WHILE AT A DRIVE THROUGH WINDOW, THE WIRING TO THE CIGARETTE LIGHTERS INSIDE MY VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE A FEW WEEKS AFTER THE DOOR AGAIN THE CHEVY DEALER SAID THERE ARE NO RECALLS AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET. SO MANY WHAT IF QUESTIONS COME TO MIND. THIS IS NOT THE ONLY TRAILBLAZER I HAVE KNOWN OR READ UPON TO HAVE ELECTRICAL ISSUES OR EVEN FIRE DAMAGE. GM DEFINITELY NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY BEFORE THERE IS HARM TO ANYONE DUE TO THESE UNKNOWN FIRES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE SMELLED BURNING FUMES INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. WHILE INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT A DOOR FUSE WAS BLOWN. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE FUSE AND A FIRE IGNITED ON THE FRONT DRIVER'S DOOR. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE BY REMOVING THE FUSE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP, WHO VERIFIED THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE DOOR PANEL AND SWITCH PLATE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 104,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE AT A COMPLETE STOP, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CONTINUOUSLY ILLUMINATED AFTER THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHERE THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE REPLICATED. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
THE GAS GAUGE GOES TO E EVEN AFTER TANK IS FULL. FAILED FUEL SENSOR. *JS

FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNIT HAS FAILED. THE FUEL GAUGE NO LONGER READS ACCURATELY. IT WILL SHOW EMPTY WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON WHILE THE TANK IN FULL, ALSO MASKING AN ACTUAL CHECK ENGINE PROBLEM. IT ALSO SHOWS FULL FUEL WHEN THE TANK IS LESS THAN HALF FULL. *TR
THE FUEL GAUGE IN MY 2007 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER CONTINUOUSLY DROPS TO EMPTY SHORTLY AFTER STARTING MY CAR, DESPITE HAVING A FULL TANK. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME I DRIVE MY CAR NO MATTER HOW MUCH GAS IS IN THE TANK. *TR
THE FUEL GAUGE ON MY 2007 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER BEGAN FLUCTUATING FROM PROPER FUEL LEVEL READING TO EMPTY AT AROUND 74,000 MILES. AFTER FEW WEEKS OF THIS, THE FUEL GAUGE NOW CONSISTENTLY READS EMPTY AFTER DRIVING 115 - 120 MILES ON A FULL TANK, WHICH INDICATES A FAILURE OF THE FUEL SENSING UNIT. I AM DRIVING THE VEHICLE BASED ON THE TRIP ODOMETER AND I HAVE RUN OUT OF GAS TWICE SINCE THIS IS NOT A RELIABLE WAY TO ESTIMATE THE AMOUNT OF FUEL IN THE TANK. BOTH TIMES I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK A ON HEAVILY TRAVELED BRIDGE WITH NO SHOULDER. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD!!! ALSO AT AROUND 75,000 MILES THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR LOCK STOPPED WORKING AND THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL OFF LIGHT AND ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL MAINTENANCE LIGHT PERIODICALLY TURN ON. *JS
I NOTICED THAT WHEN I ROLL THE WINDOWS UP OR DOWN THE LIGHTS FLICKER. NOW I AM HEARING THE SOUND LIKE THE DOORS ARE LOCKING OR UNLOCKING BY THEMSELVES AND I AM NOT TOUCHING ANYTHING. THIS HAPPENS WHEN I AM GOING 60 AS WELL AS WHEN I AM GOING SLOWER SPEEDS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S DOOR AND WINDOW FAILED. THE DRIVER'S DOOR COULD NOT BE UNLOCKED AUTOMATICALLY AND THE DOOR WOULD ONLY OPEN MANUALLY. IN ADDITION, THE WINDOW COULD NOT BE OPENED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER:12V40600 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
MY 2007 TRAILBLAZER STARTED GIVING INACCURATE FUEL GAUGE READINGS AT A LITTLE OVER 50000. INITIALLY IT MIGHT SHOW A PARTIALLY FILLED TANK WHEN IT WAS FULL. NOW AT ABOUT 58000MILES IT JUST SHOWS EMPTY ALL THE TIME. WHEN I CONTACTED THE DEALER THEY SAID GM WOULD ONLY PAY ONE-HALF THE 500.00 NEEDED TO REPAIR THE GAUGE. WHEN I RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM ON LINE I LEARNED THAT PERHAPS THOUSANDS OF TRAILBLAZER OWNERS HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS SEEMS UNFAIR, OBVIOUSLY IT IS A PROBLEM GM NEEDS TO RECOGNIZE AS A VEHICLE DEFECT AND RECALL AND FIX THEM. THANKS *TR
FUEL SENSOR NEVER GIVES CORRECT READING CAUSING ME TO RUN OUT OF GAS ON 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS, ALSO THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR CONTROL PANEL KEEPS GOING ON AND OFF ONLY WORKING SOME OF THE TIME AND GOING IN AND OUT AS I AM DRIVING. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE WAS STUCK ON ZERO AND HE WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH FUEL WAS IN THE VEHICLE. ON ONE OCCASION WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE RAN OUT OF FUEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER BUT NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 95,000. UPDATED 02/15/12*BF THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR FAILED. UPDATED 04/18/12
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN ENTERING THE VEHICLE, SHE NOTICED THAT THE WINDOWS COULD NOT BE OPENED. THE CONTACT ALSO SMELLED A BURNING ODOR BUT DID NOT SEE SMOKE OR A FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT AFTER REMOVING THE DOOR, THE CONNECTORS IN THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WERE FOUND TO BE MELTED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS LATER CONTACTED AND THEY ADVISED HER TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 67,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
THE FIRST TIME THE TANK READ EMPTY WAS ON NOVEMBER 23, 2011 WHEN THERE WAS ABOUT 1/4 A TANK OF GAS IN THE VEHICLE. THE GAUGE WENT BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN EMPTY AND JUST OVER MAKING THE LIGHT AND NOISE COME ON. TODAY NOVEMBER 27, 2011 IT CAME ON AFTER FUELING A LITTLE OVER 9 GALLONS OF GAS IN THE VEHICLE. I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO SEE IF TURNING THE CAR OFF AN RESTARTING THE VEHICLE WOULD RESET IT, IT DIDN'T WORK. WE CONTINUED ON WITH THE LIGHT ON AND DID WHAT WE NEEDED TO DO. WE WENT TO THE GAS STATION AND FILLED THE TANK THE REST OF THE WAY AND IT STILL SHOWED EMPTY WITH THE LIGHT COMING ON. *TR
WHILE DRIVING THE LOW BEAM HEAD LIGHTS WILL GO OUT THE ONLY WAY TO RESTORE THE LIGHTS IS TO TURN CAR OFF AND WAIT 10 MIN THEN THE LIGHTS WILL COME BACK ON BUT GO BACK OFF SHORTLY AFTER. *TR
THE FIRST TIME I NOTICED THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL GAUGE SENSOR IN MY '07 TRAILBLAZER, I HAD ABOUT 1/3 OF A TANK OF GAS WHEN I PARKED AND TURNED THE ENGINE OFF TO GO INTO A STORE. WHEN I STARTED THE ENGINE AGAIN, THE FUEL GAUGE WENT TO EMPTY AND THE LOW-FUEL LIGHT CAME ON. I WENT TO FILL THE TANK AND ONLY NEEDED ABOUT 11 GALLONS, WHICH IS WHEN I CONFIRMED THE GAUGE WAS WRONG. THE GAUGE CONTINUED TO SHOW EMPTY AND HAS EVER SINCE. I AM NOW DOING MY BEST TO KEEP TRACK OF FUEL BY ESTIMATING USAGE BASED ON THE MILES DRIVEN AFTER EACH FILL-UP. I'VE BEEN READING UP ON THE RECALL AND I'M OUTRAGED THAT GM IS STILL ONLY OFFERING TO PAY FOR HALF OF THE REPAIR COSTS IF DONE AT A DEALER, WHICH, BY THE WAY IS WHY I HAVEN'T HAD THIS REPAIR DONE YET. I'VE READ IN SOME CASES THERE HAVE BEEN ESTIMATED COSTS BETWEEN $700 AND $1200. SO IF GM IS ONLY GOING TO PAY HALF OF THE COST, I'M LOOKING AT POTENTIALLY $600 OR SO TO REPAIR SOMETHING THAT GM HAS ADMITTED IS A PROBLEM. I CANNOT AFFORD THIS REPAIR, AND I HOPE THAT I AM ABLE TO KEEP TRACK OF MY GAS BASED ON MILEAGE SO I NEVER RUN OUT OF GAS, ESPECIALLY WITH MY TWO YOUNG CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE. I ALSO DON'T BELIEVE I OR ANY OTHER VEHICLE OWNER SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT HAS BEEN RECALLED BY THE MANUFACTURER. GM SHOULD ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY IF THEY WANT TO KEEP THEIR LOYAL CUSTOMERS HAPPY AND KEEP THEM COMING BACK. IS THERE ANY HELP OUT THERE FOR PEOPLE IN MY SITUATION? I KNOW THE RECALL WAS ISSUED, I KNOW GM HAS ONLY OFFERED TO PAY HALF OF THE COST, BUT WHAT ABOUT PEOPLE WHO CANNOT AFFORD THIS ADDITIONAL EXPENSE? I KNOW THERE ARE MANY. *TR
APPROXIMATELY A MONTH AGO MY LOW FUEL INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON AND MY FUEL GAUGE REFLECTED EMPTY DESPITE FILLING UP MY GAS TANK JUST HOURS EARLIER. SINCE THAT TIME THIS HAS KEPT HAPPENING AND SEEMS TO ALWAYS INDICATE AN EMPTY TANK DESPITE THE FACT THAT IT IS INCORRECT. EVIDENTLY THIS ISSUE IS VERY COMMON WITH MY VEHICLE AND I FEEL THAT IT NEEDS TO BE DOCUMENTED. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN DUE TO THE FACT THAT I AM NEVER SURE EXACTLY HOW MUCH FUEL THAT I HAVE IN MY VEHICLE. AFTER CALLING THE DEALERSHIP I WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS AN APPROXIMATE $400 TOTAL REPAIR. GM STATED THAT THEY WILL PAY FOR 1/2, HOWEVER THIS IS STILL A LARGE OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE. THEY ALSO STATED THAT I WILL ONLY GET THE 1/2 OFF AS LONG AS I BRING MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP. GM SHOULD HAVE ISSUED A 100% TOTAL RECALL ON THIS COMPONENT SINCE ITS SO WIDESPREAD. I HAVE NO ALTERNATIVE BUT TO PAY FOR THIS REPAIR AT THEIR DEALERSHIP. *TR
THE GAS GAUGE WAS SHOWING THAT THE TANK WAS EMPTY ALTHOUGH IT HAD BEEN FILLED LESS THAN 100 MILES EARLIER. WHEN I FILLED THE TANK RIGHT AFTER THE LIGHT WENT ON - I WAS ONLY ABLE TO PUT 8 GALLONS OF GAS IN IT. THE GAUGE THEN WOULD MOVE FROM EMPTY WITH THE WARNING LIGHT COMING ON TO HALF FULL AND BACK DOWN DURING THE TRIP IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE FILL UP. ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED THE FOLLOWING MORNING, THE GAUGE WENT TO FULL BUT SHORTLY AFTER WENT BACK TO EMPTY. NOW IT CONTINUES TO READ INCONSISTENTLY EVERY TRIP MOVING BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN FULL AND EMPTY AND OTHER TIMES REMAINING ON EMPTY WITH THE WARNING LIGHT ON FOR AN ENTIRE TRIP. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 35 MPH WHEN THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR / INSULATION CAUGHT ON FIRE. MY HUSBAND POURED A CUP OF WATER TO PUT OUT THE FIRE. THE ENTIRE INTERIOR DOOR PANEL, POWER MASTER WINDOW SWITCH AND HARNESS HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS NOT INJURED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED PRIOR TO THE FAILURE THE DOOR FAILED TO OPEN AND THE POWER WINDOWS FAILED TO OPERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 77,000. THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR SWITCH AND MODULE ASSEMBLY CAUSED THE FIRE. THERE WAS DAMAGE TO THE WIRING HARNESS, DOOR TRIM PANEL AND INSULATION. THE INNER DOOR HANDLE AND POWER MIRROR SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. PICTURES RECEIVED 05/07/12
FUEL GAUGE NOT WORKING PROPERLY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THE FUEL GAUGE WAS PROVIDING INACCURATE FUEL LEVELS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN REFUELING, THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD READ ACCURATELY BUT WOULD FAIL AFTER SEVERAL MOMENTS AFTER DRIVING. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED THAT THE FUEL SENSOR FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I NOTICED MONTHS AGO THAT THE LIGHTS WEREN'T WORKING ON THE POWER WINDOWS SWITCHES ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE TRUCK. I HAVE DEFINITELY NOTICED SOME ODD SMELLS (BURNING/MELTING/PLASTIC/CHEMICAL) THAT I WAS NEVER SURE WHERE THEY WERE COMING FROM. BEFORE THE ISSUES WITH THE LIGHTS, WHICH WAS PROBABLY AROUND THE BEGINNING OF NOVEMBER, THE ONE TOUCH WINDOW OPENING CONTROL BUTTON (ALL THE WAY DOWN WITH ONLY ONE TOUCH INSTEAD OF HOLDING THE WINDOW BUTTON) STOPPED FUNCTIONING, THE WINDOW WOULD STALL IN THE MIDDLE OF EITHER CLOSING IT OR OPENING IT AND WHEN IT DIDN?T STALL AND CLOSING/OPENING WAS SUCCESSFUL IT WOULD BE VERY, VERY, VERY, VERY, VERY SLOW. THE WINDOW IN MY TRUCK IS NOW DEAD. IT WILL NOT OPERATE AT ALL. I WENT TO TRY TO SHUT IT MONDAY NIGHT AND IT WOULDN?T SHUT, THERE IS ABOUT 2-3 INCHES OF SPACE WHERE THE WINDOW IS DOWN. THERE IS NO POWER TO ANY OF MY WINDOW CONTROLS, OR TO MY POWER LOCKS ON THE DRIVER?S SIDE. WHILE DOING SOME RESEARCH ON THIS ISSUE I CAME UPON THIS SITE WHERE OTHERS HAD LISTED VERY SIMILAR PROBLEMS. I ALSO UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS CURRENTLY UNDER INVESTIGATION TO SEE IF A RECALL IS WARRANTED. GIVEN THAT THIS IS A VERY WELL KNOWN PROBLEM, WHAT RECOURSE IS THERE FOR THE UNSUSPECTING CONSUMER? I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE LESS THAN 1 YEAR AGO AS A USED VEHICLE. *TR
FUEL GAUGE WHEN DRIVING WILL SHOW INACCURATE GAS LEVEL. DROPS DOWN TO EMPTY A LOT AFTER YOU PUMPED. GAS WILL FILL UP AFTER PUMP ON GAGE, BUT ALMOST CLOSE TO HALF WHEN DRIVING WILL GO DOWN AND HIT EMPTY WHEN GAS IS IN VEHICLE. *TR
I HAD STARTED MY TRUCK TO LET IT WARM UP, AFTER COMING BACK OUT I NOTICED THE GAS GAUGE WAS INCORRECT, I TURNED OFF THE TRUCK AND STARTED IT AGAIN AND WATCHED THE GAUGE GO FROM 3/4 OF A TANK TO 1/2. I TOOK IT TO SEE IF THE BATTERY OR ALTERNATOR WAS BAD, THE BATTERY TESTED BAD, SO I REPLACED IT. THE TRUCK WAS WORKING FINE, UNTIL 2/26/12, AFTER DRIVING ABOUT 30 MILES I NOTICED THE GAUGE HAD GONE FROM 3/4 TO 1/2. WHILE SITTING AT A LIGHT I WATCHED IT THEN GO FROM 1/2 TO 1/4 OF A TANK. I DROVE TO GET GAS AND IT ONLY TOOK $21.00 TO FILL IT. AFTER READING ALL OF THE COMPLAINTS ON THIS PROBLEM, I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL ON THIS PRODUCT, AND WHY THE MANUFACTURER IS ONLY WILLING TO PAY FOR HALF OF THE REPAIR. I PAID ALOT OF MONEY FOR THIS PRODUCT AND DO NOT FEEL THAT THE COMPANY IS LOOKING OUT FOR US. I FEEL THAT CHEVROLET NEEDS TO MAKE THIS PROBLEM A RECALL AND MAKE IT RIGHT WITH ALL THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE STOOD BY THEM. *TR
ON OR ABOUT 18 OCT 2011, I SMELLED A BURNT ELECTRICAL ODOR IN THE VEHICLE, I BEGAN CHECKING FOR THE SOURCE AND FOUND THAT WHEN I ADJUSTED THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR MIRROR, THE DRIVERS WINDOW LOWERED, AND THE SMELL GOT STRONGER, WHEN THE MIRROR ADJUSTMENT SWITCH WAS RETURNED TO THE CENTER(NEUTRAL) POSITION, THE DRIVERS WINDOW SWITCH OPERATED THE PASSENGER WINDOW. I REMOVED THE DRIVERS DOOR SWITCH MODULE, I FOUND IT TO BE THE SOURCE, AS I REPEATED THE TROUBLESHOOTING PROCESS, I ACTUALLY SAW THE WHITE HOT ARCING TAKING PLACE WITHIN THE SWITCHES (THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS WERE NOT BURNT OR DAMAGED). I DISCONNECTED AND REMOVED THE SWITCH MODULE. THE NEXT DAY I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL DEALER WHEREAS, THEY ORDERED THE NEW PART AND REPLACED IT (PARTS & LABOR $460.73 + TAX). I ASKED IF THERE WERE ANY SERVICE BULLETINS OR RECALLS ON THIS PROBLEM, THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE WASN'T...NOW MY QUESTION IS...IS THE NEW SWITCH MODULE ALSO GOING TO ARC EVENTUALLY? AM I OUT $460.00? *TR

I WOULD LIKE TO ADD MY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE 2007 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER FUEL SENSOR ISSUES. THE GAS GAUGE WHEN I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE AT ABOUT 55,000 MILES WORKED BUT NOT ACCURATELY OVER THE LAST FEW MONTHS THE SENSOR HAS STOPPED WORKING ALL TOGETHER AND CONSTANTLY SHOWS AN EMPTY TANK. I GENERALLY BY GAS TWICE A WEEK TO LIMIT THE POSSIBILITY OF RUNNING OUT AND WAS ACTUALLY ON MY WAY TO THE GAS STATION WHEN THE VEHICLE RAN OUT OF GAS WHILE I WAS ON A HIGHWAY. TO ME THAT IS A DANGER TO MYSELF AND OTHER DRIVERS AND THE MORE THAT I HAVE RESEARCHED THE ISSUE I SEE THAT IT APPEARS TO BE A COMMON ONE THAT I WOULD FEEL THE NHTSA WOULD BE JUSTIFIED IN ISSUING A RECALL NOTICE FOR. FIRST INDICATION OF THE PROBLEM WAS ERRATIC LEVEL READINGS ON THE FUEL GAUGE AS WELL AS ENGINE PROBLEM INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. NOW THE FUEL GAUGE INDICATES EMPTY AT ALL TIMES EVEN WHEN THE TANK IS FULL,ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON. THESE FAULTS ARE VERY DISCONCERTING AS WELL AS BEING DANGEROUS. WHAT IF A LEGITIMATE ENGINE PROBLEM DEVELOPS? WHAT IF WE MIS-CALCULATE THE AMOUNT OF FUEL THAT IS IN THE TANK AND WE ARE ON SOME HIGHWAY IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC OR SOMEWHERE LATE AT NIGHT? IN MY OPINION,CHEVROLET SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THIS DEFECT, THE CONSUMER SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY ONE (1) DOLLAR FOR A FAULTY PART. I PURCHASED MY 2007 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER LS IN MAY 2009. I INITIALLY NOTICED THAT THE WINDOWS MOVED SLOWLY AND WOULD MOAN WHEN GOING UP AND DOWN AS WELL AS THE LIGHTS DIMMING SIMULTANEOUSLY. I TOOK IT IN ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS TO ACCREDITED CHEVY DEALERSHIPS AND THEY SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG AND IT MIGHT BE YOUR BATTERY. MY DRIVER SIDE WINDOW OCCASIONALLY WOULD NOT RESPOND AND 10-20 MINUTES LATER WOULD BE ACTIVE AGAIN. FINALLY THIS YEAR OCTOBER 2012 ALL FUNCTIONALITY WAS LOST FROM THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR. MY DRIVER DOOR MODULE BURNT OUT AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. SINCE THEN I HAVE BEEN DRIVING AROUND WITH NO OPERATING DDM WHICH IN RETURN AFFECTS LOCKS, LIGHTING, WINDOWS, MIRRORS ETC. THIS IS VERY INCONVENIENT AND I WOULD LIKE SOME ANSWERS. I DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO PURCHASE A NEW DDM AT $500 AND HAVE IT BURN OUT AGAIN OR CAUSE A FIRE IN SOME CASES. *TR
AFTER FILLING UP FUEL SYSTEM BEGAN MALFUNCTIONING; SHOWS EMPTY AFTER FILL UP. TOOK VEHICLE TO SHOP FOR REPAIR AND THEY STATE THAT YOU MUST REPLACE WHOLE SYSTEM CAN NOT SIMPLY REPLACE GAUGE. SHOP STATES THIS VEHICLE IS KNOWN FOR FUEL SYSTEM PROBLEMS AND THEY HAVE WORKED ON MULTIPLE VEHICLES WITH RELATIVELY LOW MILEAGE WITH SAME MALFUNCTIONS. *TR

I RECEIVED A LETTER ADVISING ME OF THE POSSIBILITY OF THE FUEL SENSOR IN MY 2007 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER MALFUNCTIONING. ABOUT ONE WEEK PRIOR TO RECEIVING THE NOTICE, THE FUEL GAUGE BEGAN FALLING TO EMPTY AND THE LOW FUEL WARNING SOUNDING, EVEN WHEN I HAD JUST FILLED THE TANK. THE LETTER ADVISES THAT GM WILL ONLY COVER HALF OF THE REPAIR COST. OBVIOUSLY, THIS WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE WHEN I PURCHASED IT NEW AND I SEE NO REASON WHY GM SHOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ENTIRE COST OF THE REPAIR. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS WITH MY WINDOW REGULATORS, I HAD THE SWITCH AND ELECTRICAL REPLACED ON THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR AND I AM HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE WINDOW NOT WORKING AGAIN. ALSO, NOW THE WINDOW REGULATOR IS BROKEN ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR. AT THE SAME TIME I AM ALSO HAVING AN ISSUE WITH THE ELECTRICAL, I CAN TELL THAT IN COMBINATION WITH THE WINDOW PROBLEMS THE LIGHTING ON THE DASHBOARD WHERE THE LIGHT IS DIMMED ON ONE SIDE. IT FLUCTUATED FOR A COUPLE DAYS BACK AND FORTH. FINALLY, IT DROPPED TO THE "E" MARK AND THAT HAS WHERE IT HAS STAYED SINCE WITH THE "LOW FUEL LIGHT" ON. I FILL UP AT THE GAS STATION NOW AND HAVE TO RESET MY MILEAGE AND KEEP AN EYE ON IT TO KNOW WHEN TO PUT MORE FUEL IN MY TANK. SINCE HAVING TO WATCH IT THIS WAY, I HAVE ACTUALLY GOTTEN OUT AND DRIVEN OUT OF GAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD 3 DIFFERENT TIMES. BECAUSE I DON'T ALWAYS HAVE ENOUGH MONEY (BEING A SINGLE MOTHER) TO FILL MY TANK UP, SO PUTTING $20 IN HERE AND THERE, IT MAKES IT HARD TO KEEP UP WITH THE MILEAGE TO KNOW WHEN MORE GAS IS NEEDED. I LIVE ON A FIXED INCOME AND AM DISABLED. THIS IS CLEARLY A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. WHEN I PRICED GETTING THIS PROBLEM FIXED (AT A LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP), I WAS TOLD THAT IT WOULD COST ME $140. THAT THIS WASN'T AN ACTUAL RECALL, AND THAT THE COST OF FIXING IT IS $280 BUT I'D BE RESPONSIBLE FOR HALF OF THAT AMOUNT (HENCE THE $140). WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO PAY FOR GM'S PROBLEM??
