WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE THE DRIVERS DOOR MASTER WINDOW SWITCH BEGANE TO SMOKE, I PULLED OVER AND DISCONECCTED BEFORE IT COMPLETELY BURNED. SMOKE FILLED UP THE ENTIRE VEHICLE. I DO STILL HAVE THE PART. WAS SUPRIZED THERE WAS NO RECALL AFTER LEARNING THROUGH A WEB SEARCH, THIS IS VERY COMMON. *TT
2007 TRAILBLAZER FUEL GAUGE READS EMPTY EVEN AFTER FUELING. RESEARCH SHOWS IT IS A PREVALENT FAILURE IN THIS MODEL. MONITORING THE ODOMETER IS THE ONLY WAY TO ESTIMATE REMAINING FUEL. IT CAN BE DANGEROUS NOT KNOWING CORRECT AMOUNT OF FUEL REMAINING. *KB
THE FUEL GAUGE LEVEL INDICATOR JUST WENT FROM "FULL" TO "EMPTY", IT JUST WENT THAT FAST. MINUTES BEFORE IT HAD JUST BEEN FILLED AT THE GAS STATION. WHEN STARTING, THE GAUGE RISES THEN FALLS TO EMPTY. ON OCCASIONS THE WARNING MESSAGE, "PLEASE TIGHTEN GAS CAP" COMES ON. NOW MONTHS LATER, SAME PROBLEM; AFTER CONTACTING "GM" HOTLINE, THEY STILL HAVE NOT SHOWN ANY CONCERN. I KEEP TRACK OF MILES DRIVEN SINCE LAST FILL-UP AND GAS USED, SO I KNOW WHEN IT IS TIME TO FILL-UP. I HAVE READ MANY SAME COMPLAINTS, AND I WONDER WHY "GM" HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL. IT IS NOW 08/21/2012 AND PROBLEM IS STILL ONGOING. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP. PLEASE. "GM" HAS ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS SUGGESTED THAT THE WIRE HARNESS ON TOP OF THE GAS TANK NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, TO DO SO, REQUIRES A FIVE (5) HOUR VISIT AND THEY EXPECT THE CUSTOMER TO PAY HALF THE COST. PLEASE HELP.
FUEL GAUGE FLUXUATES YOU NEVER KNOW HOW MUCH YOU HAVE IT WILL SHOW YOU HAVE A FULL TANK IT MAY BE HALF OR EMPTY, IT MIGHT SHOW EMPTY AND WILL FLOAT ANY PART OF THE GAUGE QUARTER OR HALF FULL. THIS COULD CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT, AT ONE TIME WE THOUGHT WE HAD A HALF TANK OF GAS AND RAN OUT OF GAS ON AN INTERSTATE FORTUNATELY WE PULLED OFF SIDE OF ROAD AND WALKED TO GET GAS WE WERE OUT OF GAS. THE ONLY WAY TO KNOW YOU HAVE GAS IS TO KEEP A CHECK WITH ODOMETER READING. THE LOW FUEL LIGHT WILL COME ON AND THEN MILES LEFT WILL COINCIDE WITH THE LOW FULL LIGHT BUT YOU MAY HAVE GAS IN THE VEHICLE. IT IS NEVER CONSISTENT. I WILL STAY AT A CERTAIN READING FOR SEVERAL MINUTES OR SO THEN YOU DON'T KNOW WHICH WAY IT WILL GO. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE. IT HAS ONLY 37,582 MILES OR SO. WE BOUGHT IT OFF A FRIEND WHEN HIS WIFE PASSED AWAY, HE BOUGHT IT NEW. *TR

TURNED ON TRAILBLAZER AND FUEL GAUGE SHOWED EMPTY WITH GAS LIGHT ON. THIS NOW OCCURS EVERYTIME WE TURN ON THE SUV AND CANNOT TELL HOW MUCH GAS IS IN THE TANK. WE ARE CURRENTLY HAVING TO RESET OUR MILEAGE EVERY 275 MILES TO MAKE SURE WE DON'T RUN OUT OF GAS. *TR

MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING WITH THE WHOLE FAMILY IN THE CAR, IT WAS RAINING THAT MORNING AND ONLY A MINUTE INTO OUR DRIVE, THE DRIVERS DOOR WINDOW ROLLED DOWN BY ITSELF...HE PUSHED THE SWITCH FOR THE WINDOW TO GO BACK UP..THE WINDOW WENT BACK UP AND NOT EVEN 30SECONDS LATER IT ROLLED DOWN AGAIN ON ITS OWN...AT ABOUT THE SAME TIME SMOKE STARTED BILLOWING OUT OF THE DRIVERS DOOR, THE SMOKE FILLED THE CAR, IT SMELLED LIKE AN ELECTRICAL FIRE. WE WERE ONLY A BLOCK FROM HOME SO WE TOOK THE CAR HOME, PULLED THE INTERIOR FROM THE DOOR WHERE WE DISCOVERED THE SWITCHES THAT CONTROL THE LOCKS, WINDOWS, AND SIDE MIRRORS WERE ALL MELTED AND STILL SMOKING...WE DISCONNECTED ALL THE SWITCHES AND ARE WITHOUT USE OF ANY DRIVERS DOOR ELECTRICAL SWITCHES. *TR UPDATED 10/03/12*LJ UPDATED 10/04/2012 *JS

2007 CHEVROLET TRAIL BLAZER HEADLIGHTS GO OUT WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. *TR
THIS MORNING WHEN I GOT IN TO MY CAR I HAD A QUARTER TANK OF GAS. AFTER I HAD TURNED MY CAR OFF AND BACK ON IT SHOW MY TANK WAS EMPTY AND THE GAS LIGHT WAS ON. I FILLED UP MY TANK AND IT STILL SHOWED EMPTY WITH THE GAS AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS ON NOW. I AM NOW NOT ABLE TO TELL HOW MUCH GAS I HAVE IN MY CAR. *TR
SON WAS INVOLVED IN A MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT IN WHICH HE HIT A CEMENT TRUCK HEAD ON AND THE VEHICLE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE ENTIRE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED (SMASHED IN) AND THE VEHICLE SUBSEQUENTLY TOTALED OUT. AS PER GM THIS TYPE OF CRASH WOULD NOT HAVE CREATED A DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIRBAG HOWEVER; MY SON CRACKED THE FRONT WINDSHIELD WHEN HIS HEAD HIT IT AT IMPACT WITH THE TRUCK AND AGAIN, THE ENTIRE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE WAS SMASHED. IF THIS TYPE OF IMPACT DOESN'T CREATE AN AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT I AM NOT QUITE SURE WHAT DOES? *KB
I WAS DRIVING MY 2007 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER XL WHEN I SMELLED THE ODOR OF BURNING PLASTIC. I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE AND BEGAN TO EXAMINE THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE, I OBSERVED SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR ELECTRICAL CONTROL PANEL. I THEN TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND EXITED LEAVING THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR OPEN TO OBSERVE. THE SMOKE THAN SUBSIDED, BUT THE CONTROL PANEL WHICH IS USED TO OPEN THE WINDOWS, DOORS AND UNLOCK THE DOOR WAS NO LONGER FUNCTIONING. I DROVE HOME AT WHICH TIME I OPENED UP OR REMOVED THE DRIVERS SIDE CONTROL PANEL. THE PLASTIC CASING WAS MELTED AND BURNED. I THAN REFERRED TO THE OWNERS MANUAL AND LOCATED THE FUSE BOX AND THE FUSE, WHICH WAS BURNED OUT, THIS MAY HAVE STOPPED THE FIRE OR SHORT. THERE IS NO EXPLAINED REASON WAY THIS PANEL SHORTED OUT AND STARTED A POTENTIAL FIRE. I HAVE NOT CONSULTED THE CHEVY DEALER OR GM YET. I HAVE BEEN GIVEN INFORMATION BY A INDEPENDENT MECHANIC THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL YEAR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT BEFORE EXITING THE VEHICLE, HE SMELLED SMOKE AND NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY THE OWNER AND HE SAW THAT THE SMOKE WAS COMING FROM THE POWER WINDOW SWITCH. THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR POWER WINDOW SWITCH WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 42,000.

TRANSMISSION FAILURE WITHOUT ANY NOTICE AT INTERSECTION ALMOST CAUSING ACCIDENT IN A 2007 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER SS. *TR
MY 2007 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER FUEL INDICATION (GAUGE) SYSTEM INTERMITTENTLY STOPS WORKING, IT JUST STARTED DOING THIS 2 WEEKS AGO. AFTER FILLING UP AT A GAS STATION AND DRIVING FOR APPROXIMATELY 30 MINUTES THE FUEL GAUGE GOES TO EMPTY, AND THE LOW LEVEL FUEL LIGHT ILLUMINATES, AND REMAINS THIS WAY SO I HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH FUEL IS IN THE VEHICLE. OCCASIONALLY WHEN I START THE VEHICLE IN THE MORNING IT WILL MOMENTARILY GIVE A FUEL INDICATION BUT I HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING IF THIS IS ACCURATE, THEN THE NEEDLE GOES DOWN TO EMPTY AND THE LOW LEVEL FUEL LIGHT COMES ON WITHIN A FEW MINUTES. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. EVERYDAY I GET IN THE VEHICLE I HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH FUEL IS IN IT, I KEEP AN EYE ON HOW MANY MILES I DRIVE AS A BEST GUESS AS TO HOW MUCH FUEL I HAVE. IF I RUN OUT OF GAS IN HEAVY TRAFFIC IN WASHINGTON DC THEN IT WILL CREATE TRAFFIC BACKUPS/HAZARDS. I HAVE HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS IN MY 96 SILVERADO, AND 2001 BLAZER, SO THIS SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM THAT CHEVY HAS KNOWN ABOUT FOR SEVERAL YEARS BUT REFUSES TO FIX IT BEFORE SOMEONE GETS INJURED OR KILLED IN AN ACCIDENT. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE. MY VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED AT THIS TIME. *TR

2007 CHEVROLET TRAIL BLAZER - FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT GIVE ACCURATE READINGS. THIS RECENTLY STARTED. FUEL GAUGE WILL INDICATE THAT THE TANK IS EMPTY / GIVE WARNINGS, AND THEN ONLY NEED 7 TO 9 GALLONS TO FILL THE TANK. TANK CAPACITY IS LIKE 16 GALLONS. *KB

FUEL GAUGE BEGAN GIVING AN INACCURATE READING AND EVENTUALLY STOPPED WORKING ALTOGETHER. *TR
FUEL GAUGE IN 2007 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER BEGAN FLUCTUATING FROM PROPER FUEL LEVEL READING TO EMPTY AT AROUND 50,000 MILES. AFTER ABOUT 2 WEEKS OF THIS, FUEL GAUGE FAILED ALTOGETHER AND NOW CONSISTENTLY READS EMPTY REGARDLESS OF FUEL LEVEL IN TANK, WHICH INDICATES A FAILURE OF THE FUEL SENSING UNIT. RECEIVED A LETTER FROM GM STATING 1/2 OF REPAIR COSTS WOULD BE COVERED BY MANUFACTURER, HOWEVER DUE TO THE FACT THIS PROBLEM APPEARS SO COMMON AND WIDESPREAD, IT IS APPARENT THE NHTSA NEEDS TO ISSUE A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM. WE ARE DRIVING THE VEHICLE BASED ON THE TRIP ODOMETER AND MY HUSBAND HAS RUN OUT OF GAS TWICE AS THIS IS NOT A RELIABLE WAY TO ESTIMATE THE AMOUNT OF FUEL IN THE TANK. BOTH TIMES HE WAS ON HIS WAY TO WORK AND ON HEAVILY TRAVELED ROADS. THIS IN ITSELF CREATED A SAFETY HAZARD. *TR
#1-THE FUEL GAUGE STOPPED WORKING ON THIS VEHICLE WHILE GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. I WENT ONLINE TO SEE IF I COULD GET AN ANSWER FOR WHY IT WOULD JUST SUDDENLY QUIT WORKING. IT WAS THERE THAT I FOUND HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE WHO EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM. WHEN I CALLED CHEVROLET ABOUT IT, THEY SAID THEY COULD FIX IT FOR $500. I ENDED UP HAVING JUST THE FUEL SENDING UNIT REPLACED ABOUT 5 MONTHS AGO AND AM NOW EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM AGAIN. CHEVROLET IS FULLY AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, AS THEY SENT ME A PAPER SAYING THAT IF I GOT IT REPAIRED AT A CHEVY GARAGE THEY WOULD REIMBURSE 50% OF THE COSTS. TO ME HAVING BEEN AN ISSUE FOR MANY YEARS CHEVY SHOULD PAY TO HAVE THE PROBLEM FIXED NOT ME! #2- DURING ROUTINE DRIVING WE ATTEMPTED TO ROLL DOWN THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW AND IT FAILED TO OPERATE PROPERLY. I TRIED IT A COUPLE OF TIMES AND HAD NO LUCK. WHEN I REACHED MY DESTINATION I LOOKED TO SEE IF MAYBE A WIRE WAS CUT IN THE DOOR HINGE AREA, WHICH IT WASN'T, AND PUT MY FINGER ON THE SWITCH AND NOTICED IT WAS EXTREMELY WARM. I SHUT THE CAR OFF, LEFT THE DOOR OPENED AND ALLOWED IT TO COOL DOWN. IT WORKS INTERMITTENTLY AND STILL GETS VERY WARM WHEN IT DOESN'T WORK PROPERLY. *TR
FUEL GAUGE FAILURE, INACCURATE READING. FUEL GUAGE STAYS ON EMPTY. DRIVER HAS TO RELY ON TRIPOMETER TO GUESS RANGE TO DETERMINE WHEN TO FILL GAS TANK.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 52 MPH UPHILL THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AND HE LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE DROVE OFF OF THE ROAD, ROLLED OVER, AND NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED BACK, NECK AND SHOULDER INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS DECLARED DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 65,000. I WAS STARTING TO GO UP A HILL AT A SPEED OF 56 MPH AND I SWERVED TO MISS A COUPLE OF SKUNKS WHEN THE STEERING LOCKED ON THE TRUCK AND I WENT INTO THE DITCH TO THE LEFT AND THEN ROLLED THE TRUCK THREE TIMES. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED IN NOV 2010 I NOTICED THE SRS LIGHT WAS ON AND THE DASH LIGHT AND HIS RESPONSE WAS TO BRING IT BACK FOR SERVICE AFTER I MADE A PAYMENT, DURING THE ACCIDENT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND THE TOWING COMPANY WHO CAME TO GET THE TRUCK THEY HAD TO CUT THE BATTERY OUT BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T GET THE STEERING TO UNLOCK. *KB
THE GAS TANK IS READING INCORRECT. WHEN I FILLED UP, AFTER REACHING 3/4 OF A TANK, THE TANK READING PLUMMETED TO EMPTY.
I PURCHASED A 2007 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER NEW IN NOVEMBER OF 2006. I CURRENTLY HAVE 41000 MILES ON IT AND HAVE AN ISSUE WITH THE FUEL GAUGE. I FILLED THE TANK AND THE GAUGE NOW READS EMPTY WITH THE YELLOW FUEL LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ALSO ILLUMINATED. DUE TO ITS INACCURATE READINGS, I RAN OUT OF GAS ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY AND HAD TO PUSH IT ONTO A SHOULDER PUTTING MYSELF IN AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS POSITION ALONG WITH MY WIFE AND 2 CHILDREN. I CALLED THE DEALER AND WAS ADVISED THAT IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND THAT THERE ARE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE AND WOULD COST APPROXIMATELY $1000 TO FIX. IN RESEARCHING THIS ON THE INTERNET, I FOUND THAT HUNDREDS OF CUSTOMERS HAVE EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH THEIR 2007 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZERS PUTTING THEIR LIVES AND THEIR FAMILIES LIVES IN DANGER AS WELL. THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT CHEVROLET NEEDS TO ADDRESS AND THAT THIS PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE RECALLED BEFORE SOMEONE OR SOMEONE IN THEIR FAMILY IS KILLED. *TR
I HAVE A 2007 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER, FOR THE LAST YEAR I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY SUV WANTING TO STALL. I HAD MY FUEL PUMP/GAUGES REPLACED 1 YEAR AGO BECAUSE MY FUEL GAUGE DID NOT WORK AT ALL. I WAS TOLD THAT THE FUEL GAUGE IS READ BY A PORTION OF THE ACTUAL FUEL PUMP THAT IS INSIDE MY FUEL TANK. THAT COST ME MORE THAN $600 OUT OF MY OWN POCKET SINCE THEY HAD TO REMOVE MY FUEL TANK TO REPLACE IT. MY FUEL GAUGE HAS BEEN WORKING FAIRLY NORMAL UP UNTIL YESTERDAY, ON MY WAY TO WORK AT 6:15AM MY VEHICLE STALLED IN THE DRIVING LANE OF A 2 LANE FRONTAGE ROAD BECAUSE I WAS OUT OF GAS. THANKFULLY, THE ROAD WAS NOT EXTREMELY BUSY AT THAT TIME OF MORNING. HOWEVER, MY FUEL GAUGE STILL SHOWED THAT I HAD ALMOST 1/2 TANK, WHEN IN FACT MY CAR STALLED BECAUSE I RAN OUT OF GAS. I HOPE THAT SOME KIND OF RESOLUTION CAN BE AGREED UPON WITH GM TO GET THE PROBLEM CORRECTED SO THAT IT DOES NOT HAPPEN IN THE FUTURE. *TR
TWICE NOW THE VEHICLE HAS RUN OUT OF GAS WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND THE GAS GAUGE STILL SHOWS A QUARTER OF A TANK. THIS PAST WEEK WE STARTED TO NOTICE THE GAUGE READING HAS BEEN GOING UP AND DOWN IN 1/4 TANK INTERVALS AND WE AREN'T QUITE SURE HOW MUCH GAS IS ACTUALLY IN THE TANK. WE HAVE AN APPOINTMENT SCHEDULED WITH OUR DEALER, BUT FELT THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE REPORTED AS OTHERS WITH THE SAME VEHICLE ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE.
THE FUEL GAUGE IS FAULTY. AT FIRST IT WILL READ HALF FULL, OR 3/4 FULL, AND THEN THE NEEDLE WILL GO TO EMPTY TRIGGERING THE LOW FUEL LIGHT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE BECAME INOPERABLE AND SHE WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH FUEL WAS IN THE VEHICLE. AFTER REFUELING THE VEHICLE TO ITS CAPACITY, THE FUEL GAUGE READ EMPTY. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 45,000. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,800. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
AFTER FILLING MY CAR UP WITH GAS, THE FUEL LIGHT BEGAN BLINKING AND DINGING WITH THE GAUGE DROPPING TO THE EMPTY LEVEL. I CALLED A SERVICE CENTER IN VICTORIA TO INQUIRE AS TO WHAT THEY THOUGHT IT COULD BE AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT. THE CENTER CALLED ME BACK TELLING ME MY WARRANTY WOULD NOT COVER THE VISIT AND IT WOULD COST ME APPROXIMATELY $140 JUST FOR THEM TO LOOK AT IT. I THEN MADE SOME CALLS TO SEVERAL AUTO PARTS STORES TO INQUIRE THE SAME AND LOOKED UP ONLINE ANY RECALLS THAT MAY HAVE BEEN DONE IN RE TO THIS ISSUE. I CANNOT AFFORD TO GET THIS FIXED ON MY OWN. THERE IS A SMELL OF GAS AT TIMES AND IT CONTINUES TO FLUCTUATE FROM EMPTY TO FULL, ETC. I AM A HOME HEALTH NURSE AND AM ON THE ROAD CONSTANTLY. THE CAR IS ALSO USING MORE GAS THAN USUAL AND IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH I ACTUALLY HAVE IN THE TANK. THE SMELL OF GAS IS NAUSEATING AND CAUSES HEADACHES. THE IDEA OF RUNNING OUT OF GAS IN A SECLUDED AREA IS FRIGHTENING. I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE TO START AS FAR AS PARTS BECAUSE TECHNICIANS HAVE TOLD ME IT COULD BE MULTIPLE THINGS I FEEL LIKE GMS SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR FIXING THIS DEFECT BEFORE SOMETHING TRAGIC HAPPENS. AFTER GOING ON LINE I NOTICED NUMEROUS CONSUMERS WITHTHE SAME COMPLAINTS AND NO RESOLUTION. THE ENGINE ALSO HAD BEEN ON. *TR

THE FUEL GAUGE READS WRONG. I HAVE RAN OUT OF GAS MULTIPLE TIMES BECAUSE THE GAUGE READS HAVING MORE FUEL IN THE TANK THAN IT DOES. SOMETIMES THE GAUGE WILL READ FULL THEN GO TO EMPTY AND BACK AGAIN WITHIN A FEW MILES OF DRIVING. I'M AFRAID TO GO ON ANY LONG TRIPS BECAUSE OF THE FEAR OF RUNNING OUT OF GAS. IT HAPPENED TO ME IN AN INTERSECTION AND WAS ALMOST T-BONED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE BECAUSE I COULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE OTHER VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO SWERVE AND AVOID A COLLISION. *TR

I HAVE HAD PROBLEM WITH FUEL LEVEL SENSOR ON A 2007 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER LT,V-8.DOES NOT SHOW FUEL LEVEL CORRECTLY.THIS WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY,BUT THE FUEL PUMP THAT IT IS ATTACHED TO IS COVERED.SO, I HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET TO FIX PROBLEM.FEEL I SHOULD BE REIMBURSED.THE ONLY THING THE DEALERSHIP HAS DONE WAS TO SEND ME A 10 PERCENT DISCOUNT ON MY NEXT REPAIR. *TT

AFTER THE READING BEGAN TO FLUCTUATE THE CONTACT FUELED THE VEHICLE AND THE EMPTY FUEL TANK WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE A NEW FUEL LEVEL SENSOR WAS INSTALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000.
GAS GAUGE ON 2007 TRAILBLAZER IS ONLY ACCURATE WHEN TANK IS COMPLETELY FULL. AFTER A FEW MILES IT REGISTERS EMPTY SO YOU NEVER KNOW HOW MUCH GAS YOU HAVE. *TR
FUEL GAUGE ISSUES CONSISTENT WITH THE THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ALREADY OUT THERE. CAR HAS 30K MILES ON IT AND FUEL GAUGE NOW IS ALWAYS AT EMPTY. *TR
THE FUEL GAUGE INDICATOR COMES ON AFTER ABOUT 150 MILES WITH MORE THAN A HALF A TAN OF GAS LEFT. THE GAUGE STATES THAT I AM OUT OF GAS WITH THE LIGHT ON. FOR THE TIME BEING I USE THE TRIP ODOMETER AND REFUEL ABOUT EVERY 200 MILES. IT STILL WORRIES ME THAT MY GAS LIGHT IS ON AND SAYS EMPTY. I HAVEN'T GONE TO A REPAIR SHOP BECAUSE MY TRAILBLAZER IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY, BUT HAVE LOOKED ONLINE AND SAW MANY COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME PROBLEM WITH QUOTES RANGING ANYWHERE FROM $400-$1000. THIS PROBLEM STARTED AT ABOUT 60K MILES. I CURRENTLY HAVE APPROXIMATELY 62K MILES. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE IN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. GAS GAUGE HAS BEEN VERY INACCURATE. GAUGE WILL READ FULL AFTER FILL UP FOR APPROX. 20 MINUTES OF DRIVING, AFTER THAT IT WILL READ EMPTY WITH THE LOW FUEL LIGHT ON. FOR MY SAFETY I AM FILLING UP EVERY FEW DAYS BECAUSE I HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH FUEL IS IN THERE. I HAVE BEEN USING MY TRIP ODOMETER TO USE A SOME BASE LINE. MY FEAR IS I WILL BE PULLING INTO TRAFFIC AND IT WILL RUN OUT OF GAS. I BELIEVE THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS AS IT IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE.
