CAR HAS BEEN ACTING FUNNY BUT PARKED IN A CUSTOMER PARKING LOT AND WHEN I TRIED TO START CAR IT STATED SEVERE PROBLEM AND WOULD NOT TURN OVER. WITH MY LOW MILES I CANT BELIEVE THAT A FUEL PUMP COULD GO.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHRYSLER 200. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER SEAT BELT FAILED TO UNLOCK AND RETRACT. THE CONTACT HAD TO CUT THE SEAT BELT TO BE ABLE TO RELEASE THE CHILD FROM THE SEAT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,000.
WHEN DRIVING, AFTER A RAIN, ESPECIALLY WHEN TURNING CORNERS WATER COMES RUSHING TO THE FRONT OF THE CAR FROM UNDERNEATH THE DASHBOARD. MOST TIMES THE PASSENGER SIDE IS DRENCH AND THE DRIVER SIDE IS SLIGHTLY DRENCHED BUT I'M SURE THIS A PROBLEM BECAUSE THERE MUST BE WIRES EXPOSED. PLEASE HELP.
TOOK MY CAR IN FOR AIRBAG SAFETY RECALL AND THE WORK WAS DONE.LATER MY AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS UNRELATED TO THE RECALL BUT A DEFECTIVE CONNECTION FOR MY HEAD RESTRAINT AIRBAG WAS OUT AND IT WOULD COST $531 DOLLARD TO FIX.WHAT A COINCIDENCE.NOW MY HEADREST AIR BAG IS NON-FUNCTIONING AND THE LIGHT REMAINS ON.THIS HAPPENED AT JEEP CHRYSLER IN SAN LEANDRO,CA. ON MARINA BLVD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHRYSLER 200. WHILE DRIVING AT 45 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE CONTACT FELT THE PEDAL VIBRATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE PADS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THE ROTORS NEEDED TO BE TURNED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,000.
STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, UP UNTIL THEN CAR WAS DRIVING FINE, MADE A LEFT TURN AND THE 200 LOSS POWER AND STALLED OUT. THE ETC LIGHT AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON OUT THE CORNER OF MY EYE, NEXT THING I KNOW I WAS PLOWED INTO BY ANOTHER CAR. AFTER DOING MORE RESEARCH, I HAVE SEEN THIS PROBLEM COME UP TIME AFTER TIME. THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE ACTUALLY HAS PLASTIC GEARS, PLASTIC GEARS THAT CONTROL THE OPENING OF THE THROTTLE VALVE IM SURE THOSE TEETH WILL WEAR OUT ON NEARLY EVERY CAR AND CAUSE PROBLEMS. *TR
WINDSHIELD WIPERS QUIT WORKING. ONLY WIPE ON HIGH. TOOK INTO DEALER TO REPAIR, THEY REPLACED THE WIPER MOTOR. DID NOT FIX PROBLEM, THEY THEN RAN CODES TO TELL ME IT IS THE TIPM. MY EXTENDED WARRANTY COMPANY SAID THEY WILL NOT COVER, PROBLEM STILL NOT FIXED.
MY COMPLAINT CONCERNS THE GOODYEAR EAGLE LS2 P225/50R18 94T S2 B01RPTL M63HBHDR2711 TIRE. I'VE HAD THIS TIRES AROUND 34,000 MILES AND ON THREE OF THE TIRES THE TREAD WAS SEPARATING CAUSING UNUSUAL TREAD WEAR IN SPOTS AND BUBBLING AND A SAFETY HAZARD. THE BUBBLING WAS BAD ENOUGH FOR ME TO NOTICE A WOBBLE IN MY STEERING WHEEL. I FIND SUCH WEAR IRREGULAR AND TO HAPPEN ON THREE TIRES ALL DURING THE SAME PERIOD OF TIME UNUSUAL. I HAVE MY CAR SERVICED AT REGULAR INTERVALS AND MY SERVICE PROVIDER NEVER FOUND ANYTHING IRREGULAR ABOUT THE WEAR ON MY TIRES UNTIL RECENTLY. SUCH SWIFT AND IRREGULAR WEAR SHOULD BE RECORDED AND ACTED UPON BECAUSE IT DOES POSE A RISK HAZARD TO DRIVERS WHO MAY EXPERIENCE A BLOWOUT ON THE ROAD DUE TO THE SEPARATION AND BUBBLING. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIPM FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
CLUNKING POPPING IN FRONTEND YOU CAN FEEL IT IN STEERING WHEEL. CAR WAS UNDER WARRANTY WHEN THIS STARTED DEALERSHIP COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM IT CONTINUES TO GET LOUDER AND MANY PEOPLE WITH THIS CAR HAVE THIS SAME PROBLEM.
WHILE TAKING OFF FROM A STOP LIGHT. THE 2012 CHRYSLER 200 CUT OFF WITH NO WARNING (NO STALLING,SPUTTER, HESITATION OF THE SORT). I WAS STOPPED NOT ON THE HWY BUT A MAJOR DIVIDED FOUR LANE HWY. (GA 54, NEWMAN, GA AT THE INTERSECTION OF U. S. HWY I-85). AFTER SEVERAL RESTART ATTEMPTS. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED WITH THE ENGINE MALFUNCTION LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THIS VEHICLE ONLY HAD 45,466 MILES ON IT WITH ALL MAINTENANCE UP TODATE BEING COMPLETED BY THE CHYSLER DEALERSHIP PURCHASED FROM. DEALERSHIP NOTIFIED, APPOINTMENT SCHEDULED FOR 3-26-2015. WHO WANTS TO DRIVE A VEHICLE WITH A DEFECT THAT THE MANUFACTURER IS WELL AWARE OF. JUST LOOK AT THE AMOUNT OF COMPLAINTS. *TR
THE CAR HAS STALLED ON FOUR DIFFERENT OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING. IT STALLED THREE TIME WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC. ONE TIME IT STALLED ON THE HIGHWAY. THE CAR HAS TURNED BACK ON AFTER A COUPLE OF TRIES. A MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT COMES ON AFTER THE INCIDENT AND STAYS ON FOR A PERIOD OF TIME. THE LIGHT SIMPLE GOES OUT WITHOUT ANY INTERVENTION. EVERYTHING APPEARS TO BE RUNNING OKAY AND THEN ANOTHER INCIDENT OF STALLING OCCURS. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE KEY WAS TURNED OVER, THE LIGHTS FLICKERED FOR THE GAUGES AND AN ABNORMAL NOISE EMITTED FROM THE FUEL PUMP AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
2012 CHRYSLER 200 HEATER ISSUE. VEHICLE WILL NOT WARM ON PASSENGER SIDE PREVENTING DEFOGGER TO REDUCE ICE OR SNOW FROM WINDSHIELD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP AND AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO REMOVE SLUDGE FROM THE RADIATOR AND HEATER CORE THE HEATER STILL WILL NOT MAINTAIN HEAT TO THE PASSENGER SIDE WHICH IS A SAFETY ISSUE IN KEEPING THE WINDSHIELD CLEAR OF ICE OR SNOW. DEALERSHIP INDICATED THAT HEATER CORE, RADIATOR AND COOLANT RESERVOIR WILL ALL NEED TO BE REPLACED. IN READING VARIOUS FORMS ITS KNOWN THAT CHRYSLER USES SOME TYPE OF CHEMICAL TO PLUG ANY PIN HOLES IN THE RADIATOR AND THIS PRODUCT IS CAUSING A SLUDGE IN THE SYSTEM AND CREATING THE PROBLEM. CHRYSLER WILL NOT OR INDICATED AFTER CALLING, THEY WILL NOT PAY THE $1700 COST OF THE REPAIRS THAT WERE CREATED DURING MANUFACTURING. *TR
THE PASSENGER SIDE STOPPED WORKING NO HEAT. TOOK THE CAR TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY FLUSHED THE SYSTEM WITH CHEMICAL AND COOLANT A LOT OF JUNK CAME OUT. THAT DIDN'T WORK NOW DEALERSHIP SAYS HEATER CORE AND RADIATOR NEEDS REPLACED $1700. I RESEARCH THIS AND THERE HAS BEEN A PROBLEM WITH 2012 WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHRYSLER 200. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE JERKED AND STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHERE IT FAILED TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DARCARS CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM OF SILVER SPRING (12511 PROSPERITY DR, SILVER SPRING, MD 20904, (301) 622-0010) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE INTEGRATED POWER MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED EIGHT TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WAS COMPLETED, BUT A FAILURE CODE COULD NOT BE FOUND. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.

AFTER DRIVING FOR 15 OR 20 MINUTES OR MORE, I CAN HEAR AND FEEL IN THE STEERING WHEEL A CLUNKING NOISE/SOUND UNDER THE HOOD. THERE IS NO PATTERN TO IT. IT HAPPENS EITHER ON A STRAIGHT LINE OR BY TURNING. THE BANGING RATE WON'T INCREASE/DECREASE IF I SPEED UP/DOWN. IF I TURN ON THE AC BEFORE THE CLUNKING NOISE/SOUND STARTS, IT WILL COMMENCE TO MAKE THE NOISE/SOUND BEFORE THE 15 OR 20 MINUTES OF DRIVING. IT IS DRIVING ME CRAZY (NO PUN INTENDED). IT SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING IS COMPLETELY LOOSE AND IS GOING TO FALL AT ANY MOMENT. MY SAFETY AND THOSE RIDING WITH ME ARE NOT SECURED IN THIS CAR. THE INTERNET IS FULL OF PEOPLE WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM FOR THIS PARTICULAR CAR AND THERE IS NOT ONE SOLID SOLUTION FOR IT. COULD ANYONE HELP US AND MAKE CHRYSLER GET MORE SERIOUS WITH THIS PROBLEM/SOLUTION? REGARDS. *TR
I OWN A 2012 CHRYSLER 200, I LOVE MY CAR; HOWEVER, THE HEAD LIGHTS ARE POINTING TOWARDS THE GROUND MAKING IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE ANYTHING IN FRONT OF ME WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V634000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE FAILURE LATER RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOW INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V435000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). BOTH THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE REPAIR PARTS WERE NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,914.
MY LIGHT ARE NOT WORKING WENT TO THE DEALER SAID I NEED PART CALL (TIPM) TOTALLY INTERGRATED POWER MODULE AND THE COST IT 1,204.00. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT'S SPOUSE OWNS A 2012 CHRYSLER 200. WHILE THE CONTACT'S SPOUSE WAS DRIVING 45 MPH, HER VEHICLE WAS CUT OFF BY ANOTHER VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO A WALL. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE C3/C4 CERVICAL VERTEBRAE AND A LACERATION TO THE KNEE, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT FACILITY. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE AIR BAGS WERE NEVER REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V668000 (SEAT BELTS, AIR BAGS). A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,000.
THERE IS LOW HEAT OUTPUT FROM THE HEATER VENTS DUE TO THE HEATER CORE PLUGGING UP WITH "SLUDGE" AS CHRYSLER CALLS IT. THERE IS A CHRYSLER STAR TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE HOTLINE CASE, NUMBER [XXX] EXPLAINING HEATER CORE RESTRICTION DUE TO SLUDGE CAUSING POOR HEATER SYSTEM PERFORMANCE. IT IS A WELL KNOWN PROBLEM WITH A LARGE NUMBER OF CHRYSLER 200 WHICH I AM SURE CAN BE VERIFIED BY CHRYSLER. I BELIEVE IT SHOULD BE A RECALL, OR AT LEAST AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ISSUE. THE STAR CASE STATES TO REPLACE THE HEATER CORE, RADIATOR, RADIATOR CAP AND REVERSE FLUSH THE ENTIRE SYSTEM IF THE CUSTOMER COMPLAINT CAN BE VERIFIED BY THE TECHNICIAN, HOWEVER IT DOES NOT EXPLAIN THE ACTUAL CAUSE OF THE SLUDGE. THE STEERING COLUMN MAKES LOUD "POPPING" NOISES AT LOW SPEEDS AND WHEN TURNING THE VEHICLE. IT SOUNDS LIKE THE STEERING COLUMN IS GOING TO SNAP. IN ADDITION, I HAD TO HAVE ALL OF MY LIFTERS REPLACED IN THE ENGINE DUE TO A LOUD TICKING NOISE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. LASTLY, THE LEATHER MATERIAL IS COMING OFF OF ALL OF THE DOORS IN THE VEHICLE, AND THE LIGHT FOR THE EMERGENCY BRAKE STAYS ON EVEN WHEN THE BRAKE IS NOT ENGAGED. I DESPISE DRIVING THE CAR AND WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CHRYSLER.

FIRST TIME DRIVING THE CAR IN SNOWY CONDITIONS,THERE WAS ABOUT AN INCH OF SNOW ON THE GROUND.I HAD A VERY HARD TIME CONTROLLING IT,IT WILL SWIRVE ALL OVER THE PLACE,I'M A TRUCK DRIVER USED TO THE WORST CONDITIONS,I WOULD SAY I'LL RATHER DRIVE A P/U TRUCK(2WD)WITHOUT EXTRA WEIGHT IN THE BED ON ICE..
THERE IS AN AWFUL SMELL OF FUMES COMING THROUGH THE AIRVENTS INSIDE CAR. IT'S SO TERRIBLE THAT IT TAKES YOUR BREATH AWAY. WELL I FOUND OUT THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS BECAUSE IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THAC 7 HEATING SYSTEM. MOLD AND BACTERIA HAS SET UP AROUND THE HEATER CORE AND THE ANTIFREEZE HAS STARTED LOOKING LIKE THICK GLUE OR SOMETHING. NOW MY HEAT DOES NOT WORK CORRECTLY. THE SMELL THAT'S COMING THROUGH THE VENTS, WELL I HAD TO GO TO EMERGENCY ROOM BECAUSE I COULD NOT BREATH. THE SMELL SETTLES IN MY CLOTHES AND BY ME BREATHING IT IN, THE SMELL HAS SETTLED IN MY NOSTRILS. BY THE TIME I GET TO WORK ALL MY CLOTHES I HAVE ON SMELLS. WENT TO HOSPITAL BECAUSE IT HAS MADE ME SO SICK, MY YES BURN FROM THE SMELL.THIS IS DANGEROUS. THE MECHANIC I SAW SAID THE COMPARTMENT WHERE THE ANTIFREEZE IS NEEDS TO BE FLUSHED OUT AND THERMOSTAT REPLACED AND PROBABLY VALVE GASKETS AND THE HEATER CORE MAY BE STOP UP ALSO SINCE THE ANTIFREEZE WAS LIKE GLUE,THE FUMES FROM THE VENTS IS BAD IT CAN AFFECT YOUR RESPITORY SYSTEM AND YOUR BREATHING. LAKE KEOWEE CHRYSLER DODGE OF SENCA SC WAS CALLED ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. THEY SAID THEY NEEDED THE NUMBER FROM RECALL. WELL THIS LICENSE MECHANIC IS GOING TO TELL ME HOW TO HANDLE THIS PROBLEM. UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS ALL OF A SUDDEN THE VEHICLE ACCELERATES ON ITS OWN. THE ENGINE STALLS AND LOSS OF STEERING. THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL WARNING LIGHT COMES ON AND BLINKS, AS WELL AS THE ENGINE LIGHT AND THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON. ACCELERATION IS ONLY AT 20% OF WHAT IT NORMALLY IS WITH INTERMITTENT THRUST OF POWER FOLLOWED BY ENGINE FAILURE. THIS LASTS FOR SEVERAL MILES THEN THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO DISAPPEAR. CHRYSLER HAS NO IDEA A OUT THIS PROBLEM WITH THERE VEHICLES AND IF U TAKE IT TO AN AUTO REPAIR PLACE. IT SAYS THE VEHICLE IS FINE WHEN THEY PLUG IT IN. I DID SOME RESEARCH ON THIS TO FIND OUT WHAT TO DO AND THE INTERNET IS SWAMPED BY PEOPLE WITH THIS CAR, THIS SAME YEAR OR AROUND THE SAME YEAR... WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS VEHICLE IS UNSAFE. LOGIC SUGGESTS THAT CHRYSLER WONT VOLUNTARILY RECALL THIS VEHICLE FOR FINANCIAL REASONS WHICH IS UNDERSTANDABLE BUT AT THE SAME TIME I DON'T WANNA DIE BECAUSE I CANT CONTROL THIS CAR WHEN IT HAS THE ABOVE MENTIONED "EPISODE". *TR

HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR AN INSPECTION. THE DEALER STATED IT APPEARED THE VEHICLE HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN PAINTED. CHRYSLER INSTRUCTED THE CONSUMER TO SEND PICTURES OF THE VEHICLE.
