"TAKATA RECALL" THE VEHICLE WILL ONLY TAKE A LITTLE FUEL AT A TIME, IT WILL ONLY TAKE ABOUT 5-6 GALLONS PER FUELING STOPS AND IT WIL NO LONGER ACCEPT ANY FUEL, THERE IS A STRONG FUEL ODOR AFTER FUELING INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE, PLUS THE FUEL GAUGE SHOWS EMPTY RIGHT AFTER PUTTING FUEL IN THE TANK, LET ME ADD THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 3 TIMES WITHIN THE LAST 11 YEARS OF OWNING THE VEHICLE. WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AS A "PROGRAM VEHICLE" IN 2007 AND IT HAS BEEN A GOOD VEHICLE, I AM JUST GLAD WE PURCHASED THE EXTENDED WARRANTY.WE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE WHEN IT HAD 29,000 MILES ON IT, IT NOW HAS 202,000 PLUS MILES ON IT.

AS THE FAILURE PROGRESSED, THE VEHICLE SHOOK ABNORMALLY AND THE VEHICLE STALLED SEVERAL TIMES WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED BY A DEALER. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP THREE TIMES, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE GAS GAUGE DROPS TO ABSOLUTE ZERO AND THE LOW FUEL WARNING COMES ON EVEN THOUGH THERE IS PLENTY OF GAS IN THE TANK. THIS CAUSES A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WITH THE CODE U1403. THERE ARE MANY OWNERS OF 2004-2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICAS THAT HAVE THIS EXACT SAME PROBLEM. THE GENERAL CONSENSUS ON FORUMS SPECIFIC TO THIS COMMON PROBLEM IS THERE IS A GAS PRESSURE PROBLEM THAT CAUSES THE GAUGE TO NOT READ CORRECTLY. PEOPLE WHO HAVE TAKEN THEIR CAR TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR REPORT THAT THE DEALERS USUALLY SAY THE SOLUTION IS TO REPLACE BOTH FUEL PUMPS. CUSTOMERS, HOWEVER, REPORT THAT THIS IS EXPENSIVE AND USUALLY DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM (CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON). MOST OWNERS SAY THE PROBLEM STEMS FROM THE POORLY DESIGNED SADDLE TANK AND BELIEVE THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE GAS PRESSURE. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND THEY WERE NO HELP AT ALL. TWO SEPARATE CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS TOLD ME TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER. THERE HAVE BEEN HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS OF 2004-2007 PACIFICA OWNERS (I ALSO FOUND MANY JEEP FORUMS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM) AND SURELY CHRYSLER HAS A RECORD OF THESE PROBLEMS AND HOW TO FIX THEM. HAVING EACH OWNER TAKE THEIR CAR TO THEIR LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER WITH NO COMMON DOCUMENTED FIX MEANS EACH OWNER IS RELYING ON TECHS THAT MAY OR MAY NOT BE AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND THE PROPER WAY TO FIX IT. TRIAL AND ERROR EACH TIME IS EXTREMELY WASTEFUL AND EXPENSIVE FOR THOUSANDS OF OWNERS. A RECALL WOULD AT LEAST ENSURE THAT EACH SERVICE CENTER HAS THE CORRECT INSTRUCTIONS ON WHAT IS EXACTLY WRONG AND PRECISELY HOW TO FIX IT.
WHEN I DRIVE MY CAR IT RUNS GREAT UNTIL I GET BELOW HALF A TANK. WHEN I HIT A HALF A TANK IT DROPS TO EMPTY AND STALLS AND DIES. I HAVE LOOKED IT UP AND HAD THE CAR DIANOSED. THEY TOLD ME THAT THE SENDING UNIT IS BAD.
MUCH DIFFICULTY IN FILLING THE FUEL TANK, THE PUMP HANDLE WOULD CONTINUOUSLY SHUT OFF, AS THOUGH THE TANK WAS FULL, WE HAD TO REPEATEDLY OPERATE THE HANDLE OFF AND ON FOR SEVERAL MINUTES. THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD NEVER SHOW THE TANK AS FULL. IT WOULD ALSO, DURING NORMAL OPERATION, REACH HALF EMPTY, THEN PLUNGE TO EMPTY, SOMETIMES ILLUMINATING THE EMPTY LIGHT!! WE WERE TOLD BY OUR CHRYSLER SERVICE MANAGER, ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS, THAT OUR CAR WAS REPAIRED, IT WAS NOT REPAIRED !!!! $1500 ON A NEW FUEL TANK, AND HUNDREDS ON RENTAL CARS LATER, OUR CAR IS STILL NOT FIXED!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!!

VEHICLE COULDN'T PASS EMISSIONS, HAD TO TAKE IT SHOP FOR SMALL EVAP LEAK. THIS SERVICE COST ME $900 TO FIX AND DURING SERVICE FUEL PUMP MODULE NEEDED REPLACING DO TO HOW CAR WAS MADE TO FIX LEAKAGE. THIS STILL DIDN'T TURN OFF LIGHTS IN DASHBOARD HAD TO PAY ANOTHER $50 FOR ESIM(LOOSE FUEL CAP) HAD ALREADY REPLACED FUEL CAP TWICE. *TR
I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT. WHEN I PUT MY FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR TO RESUME DRIVING, THE CAR BEGAN TO SHAKE AND THEN IT CUT OFF. I HAD TO PULL OVER AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE. IF A CAR HAD BEEN DRIVING BEHIND ME FAST, I COULD HAVE GOTTEN HIT IN THE BACK WHICH COULD HAVE BEEN TRAUMATIC OR EVEN FATAL. I HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED. THE DEALERSHIP THAT IT WAS TAKEN TO DIAGNOSED THE MAJOR PROBLEM AS THE 2 FUEL PUMPS NEEDED REPLACING; IN ADDITION TO OTHER ITEMS. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 126,000 MILES. THERE ARE OTHER PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE PACIFICA (2006 AND 2008 MODELS AS WELL). CHRYSLER NEEDS TO ADMIT THAT THEIR FUEL PUMPS ARE FAULTY AND REPLACE THEM BEFORE A FATALITY HAPPENS AND, IN ADDITION TO REPLACING THE PUMPS, THEY ARE FACED WITH LAWSUITS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. AFTER THE CONTACT ADDED FUEL TO THE VEHICLE, FUEL LEAKED OUT OF THE TANK. THIRTY MINUTES LATER, THE FUEL GAUGE DISPLAYED THE CORRECT AMOUNT OF FUEL, BUT THEN CHANGED TO EMPTY. ALSO, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART. THE FUEL GAUGE IS NOT SHOWING CORRECTLY. IT READS THAT THE FUEL TANK IS HALF FULL THEN IT SUDDENLY DROPS TO EMPTY. THE MILES TO EMPTY GAUGE IS NOT CALCULATING CORRECTLY EITHER. YOU CAN NOT TELL HOW FAR YOU REALLY CAN GO BEFORE THE CAR WILL RUN OUT OF GAS. WHEN I ATTEMPT TO FILL THE FUEL TANK, IT WILL NOT LET THE FUEL FLOW INTO THE FUEL TANK. IT STOPS AS IF IT IS FULL, BUT IT IS NOT. *TR
THE FUEL PUMPS IN THE GAS TANKS STOP WORKING. THEY WONT PUMP FUEL FROM ONE TANK TO THE OTHER. MY GAS GAGE SHOES FULL THEN WHEN IT GET A LITTLE BELOW HALF IM OUT OF GAS BECAUSE THE PUMPS ARE NOT PUMPING GAS FROM ONE SIDE TO THE OTHER SIDE. I HAD NEW PUMPS PUT IN 2,000 MILES AGO AND THE WENT OUT ALREADY. CHRYSLER NEED TO RECALL THIS PROBLEM. I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT IS HAVING THIS PROBLEM. WE AS CHRYSLER OWNERS CANT AFFORD TO PAY FOR THIS ALL THE TIME. I KNOW FOR A FACT THERE IS A CHRYSLER DEALER THAT SAID HE HAS THEM COMING IN LIKE A REVOLVING DOOR. THE VEHICLE SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS MOSTLY IT HAPPENS WHEN GOING AROUND CURVES. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO FIND ANY PROBLEMS WITH IT THEY JUST SAID THEY COULD REPLACE THE 2 FUEL PUMPS FOR $900 BUT COULD NOT GUARANTEE THAT WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. I DID NOT HAVE THE PUMPS CHANGED. WHEN THE VEHICLE SHUTS OFF LOSS OF POWER ASSIST STEERING IS LOST AND POWER ASSIST BRAKES MAKING IT DANGEROUS TO NAVIGATE TO A STOP TO RESTART IT. *TR

AFTER MY 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA FUEL GAUGE GETS BELOW 1/2 TANK, THE GAUGE STARTS DROPPING AT AN ALARMING RATE. IF I DRIVE 1 MILE IT REACTS INDICATING AS MUCH AS A 10 MILE DROP. WHILE SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT THE GAS GAUGE JUMPS AROUND BETWEEN 2 AND 3 MILES DIFFERENCES. I DO NOT GET A FULL 20 GALLON DRIVE FROM MY VEHICLE. I CAN FILL UP THE CAR BUT ONCE THE GAUGE INDICATES IT'S EMPTY THE CAR WILL NOT START. I LOGGED IT AS ONLY SHOWING 320 MILES AND GOING EMPTY, WHEN FULL THE GAUGE INDICATES 400 MILES. THIS READING IS CHANGING NOW ON A WEEKLY BASIS. I HAVE LOOKED ON THE INTERNET AND OTHER PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR. *TR

TOOK VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMED TO REPLACE MY RIGHT SIDE FUEL PUMP AND FUEL GAUGE SENDER. AFTER REPLACING BOTH PARTS THE PROBLEM STILL EXIST. I ALSO TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND WAS UNABLE TO GET A DEFINITE ANSWER TO THE PROBLEM, SO I PAID THE DIAGNOSTIC FEE AND THE PROBLEM STILL EXIST. *TR
I TOOK MY 2007 CHRYSLER IN BECAUSE OF FUEL GAUGE NOT READING PROPERLY, DEALER SAID I HAD BAD FUEL PUMPS, CHANGED PUMPS AND SEALS APPROXIMATELY $1100 GAUGE STILL NOT WORKING DEALER CLAIMS BAD MODULE PAID $350.00 GAUGE STILL NOT WORKING, DEALER SAID IT COULD BE BATTERY CABLE CHANGED THAT STILL NOT WORKING, DEALER SAID IT HAVE A BAD FUEL TANK, CHANGED TANK FUEL GAUGE STILL ERRATIC, NOW CAR CUTS OFF FOR NO REASON, YOU CANNOT PUT GAS IN THE CAR WITHOUT THE CAR ACTING AS IF IT IS FULL, FUEL GAUGE STILL DOES NOT WORK AND CAR DISPLAYING MORE ISSUES NOW THAN I STARTED WITH AND I HAVE HAD THE MOTOR MOUNTS AT LEAST 5 TIMES SINCE I HAD THE CAR. DEALER EVEN SAID FUEL GAUGES SOMETIMES JUMP AROUND.I FEEL LIKE I HAVE BEEN TAKEN TOTAL ADVANTAGE OF, IT APPEARS I HAVE BEEN SOLD A DEFECTIVE CAR AND NO ONE WANTS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR IT.
