VEHICLE UNEXPECTANTLY STALLED WHILE IN MOTION.
RADIO SCREEN WENT BLACK. NOTHING CONNECTED WITH SCREEN CAN BE USED (RADIO, BACKUP CAMERA, CLIMATE CONTROL, ETC.
Paint bubbling on the hood, possible corrosion. Could lead to further damage and lead to latch failure if it continues to spread.
---SERVICE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL--- WHILE MY WAS IN MOTION, I RECEIVED A MESSAGE SAYING, "SERVICE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL". DURING THIS TIME, I NOTICED MY VEHICLE'S AC LOWERED AND I COULD HEAR THE ENGINE SHIFT AND I FELT A JUMP. IT DID THIS 4 TIMES IN A 20 MINUTE DRIVE.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA AT LOW SPEEDS (10MPH-20MPH) IT SEAMS TO SHIFT OUT OF GEAR AND THEN SLAMS BACK IN STARTLING EVERYONE IN THE VEHICLE FEELING LIKE WE WERE REAR ENDED. WE HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES FOR THE SOFTWARE UPDATE. AFTER THE UPDATE IT DRIVES OK FOR A WHILE THEN HAPPENS AGAIN. WHILE OPERATING THIS VEHICLE MAKING A LEFT TURN INTO A LANE WITH ON COMING TRAFFIC IT OCCURRED ALMOST CAUSING ME TO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT.
I PURCHASED A NEW 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA VAN IN NOVEMBER 2016. I STARTED TO NOTICE A HARD SHIFTING PATTERN, SO HARD THAT IT FEELS LIKE I'M BEING REAR-ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP 4 TIMES WITH THIS COMPLAINT ON 9/13/17, 6/11/18, 2/27/19 AND 5/24/19. THE FIRST 3 VISITS I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS A "SOFTWARE UPDATE" AND THAT SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. THE HARD SHIFTING WOULD BE FIXED FOR ABOUT 1 WEEK AND IT WOULD START BACK UP AGAIN. MY LAST VISIT ON 5/24/19 I WAS TOLD THAT NO SHIFTING ISSUES WERE APPEARING ON THE DIAGNOSTICS TEST. MY VAN CONTINUES TO HARD SHIFT ON A DAILY BASIS. THIS IS BECOMING A REAL SAFETY CONCERN AS ONE TIME IT SHIFTED SO HARD WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY IT COMPLETELY JOLTED MY CAR. ANOTHER INSTANCE, WHILE DROPPING MY CHILD OFF AT SCHOOL AT THE DROP OFF LINE, I WAS COMPLETELY STOPPED WITH MY BREAK ON AND AS I SLOWLY BEGAN TO ACCELERATE MY CAR WAS NOT MOVING AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN JERKED FORWARD. I ALMOST HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. I'VE BEEN READING COUNTLESS BLOGS AND FORUMS OF THE SAME COMPLAINT WITH OTHER 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA'S. MOST OF THE PEOPLE WHO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE HAVE YOUNG CHILDREN IN THE CAR. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN MY VAN AND EVEN MY EIGHT-YEAR-OLD KEEPS ASKING IF WE ARE GETTING HIT FROM BEHIND BY ANOTHER CAR BECAUSE OF THE JOLTING. IT IS A VERY SCARY MOMENT WHEN THIS JOLTING OCCURS AND IT INCREASES MY HEART RATE EVERY TIME THIS HAPPENS, THIS HAPPENS TO ME AT LEAST THREE TO FOUR TIMES PER DAY.
WHEN ACCELERATING THE VEHICLE OFTEN STALLS OR JERKS OR DOES NOT ACCELERATE AS UNTENDED. THIS OCCURS ON FREEWAYS AND ALSO WHILE TURNING OR ACCELERATING FROM A COMPLETE STOP.
CURRENTLY HAVE 53,078 MILES ON THIS VAN. IT IS SERVICED REGULARLY BY THE SAME DEALERSHIP WE BOUGHT IT FROM. TODAY AS I WAS PICKING UP MY KIDS FROM SCHOOL( SPEED LIMIT IS 15 MPH) VAN SUDDENLY LOST POWER, IT MADE BEEPING NOISE, AND DASH SAID TO SHIFT TO PARK. I SHIFTED TO PARK AND SHUT IT DOWN THEN RESTARTED. IT IS DRIVING NORMAL AGAIN BUT I'M STILL TAKING IT INTO DEALERSHIP BECAUSE EVER SINCE IT HAD A SOFTWARE UPDATE LAST YEAR, I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH TRANSMISSION SLIPPING AS I DRIVE ON HIGHWAY. IT SLOWS DOWN BY ITSELF AND JERKS VAN ROUGHLY AS IT AUTOMATICALLY SHIFTS TO NEXT GEAR. ALSO THE TRUNK STOPPED MAKING BEEPING SOUND WHEN IT OPENS.
WHEN DRIVING AND IDLING GOING ANYWHERE FROM 14 TO 18 MPH. THEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE, THE CAR WILL PAUSE AND THEN A FEW SECONDS LATER ACCELERATE HARD WITH A LARGE JERK ALMOST CAUSING WHIPLASH. I HAVE HAD IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR MULTIPLE TIMES. THEY HAVE HAD A NEW (USED) TRANSMISSION IN AND THE PROBLEM PERSISTED. NOW WE ARE BEING TOLD WE HAVE TO HAVE A 3RD TRANSMISSION AND THEY WANT US TO PAY OVER $5100. WE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY SINCE THE VAN HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP MULTIPLE TIMES FOR THE PROBLEM.
I'VE TAKEN MY VEHICLE TO OCALA NISSAN SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASE AND EXPLAINED TO THEM THAT THE VEHICLE WAS JERKING AROUND 15 MPH. THEY TESTED IT AND SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG BECAUSE THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE NEXT TIME I TOOK IT I DROVE WITH A SERVICE ADVISOR AND THE VEHICLE DID NOT DUPLICATE. HOWEVER ON THE WAY HOME IT DID. THE ADVISOR RECOMMENDED ME TAKE THE VEHICLE TO BE ASSESSED @ MY EXPENSE. I COULDN'T AFFORD IT AT THE TIME SO I WAITED UNTIL AN OIL CHANGE WAS DUE. ON MAY 15TH CHRYSTER DID AN ASSESSMENT AND DID NOT FIND A PROBLEM. THEY EVEN DROVE MY VEHICLE 19 MILES! THE ADVISOR EVEN MENTIONED THAT THERE WERE 'STORED CODES' ON MY VEHICLE, BUT DID NOT DO ANY REPAIR! TODAY MAY 19TH MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AND MY VEHICLE IS SLOW TO ACCELERATE!
THE BACKUP SENSORS SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING. AS SOON AS I NOTICED I WENT INTO THE SETTINGS TO CHECK THAT THE SENSORS WERE NOT ACCIDENTALLY TURNED OFF, THEY WERE STILL CHECKED AS ON AND ACTIVE. I BACKED UP SEVERAL MORE TIMES COMING WITH AN INCH OF MY GARAGE WALL AND STILL NO SENSORS/NOISE/ALERT OR BRAKES AUTOMATICALLY BEING ACTIVATED. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY CORRECTED THE ISSUE. THAT WAS 8-10 WEEKS AGO AND THEN TODAY BACKING MY CAR OUT OF THE GARAGE MY HUSBAND ALMOST HIT HIS OWN CAR BECAUSE THE BACKUP SENSORS FAILED TO WORK. I CHECKED THE SETTINGS AND ONCE AGAIN, THE SENSORS ARE CHECKED AND SUPPOSED TO BE WORKING.
AS I WAS EXITING THE PARKING GARAGE, THE TRUNK OPENED UP WHILE THE CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN. THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE FROM THE LIFTGATE AND THE REAR WINDSHIELD WAS SHATTERED, PLUS THE WIPER SYSTEM BROKE.
VAN STALLING WHILE MOVING AT SLOW SPEED ON 101 NORTHBOUND FREEWAY.
ISSUES WHEN THE VEHICLE IS MOVING AT SLOW SPEED GOING FROM WHAT FEELS LIKE 1ST SECOND GEAR AND A VERY HARD THUMP FEELING IS FELT. RPM GUARGE GPES FROM 1500-300 RPM VERY RAPIDLY THEN THE VEHICLE SHIFTS GEARS AND THE THUMP OR HARD SHIFT IS FELT. CAN HAPPEN EITHER ON HIGHWAY, CITY STREET ANY ROADS AT ALL.
OUR PACIFICA WAS STOPPED AT A STOPLIGHT. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, THE PARKING BRAKE ENGAGED AND A MESSAGE CAME UP THAT SAID TO SERVICE THE SHIFTER. WE WERE ABLE TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE AND RESTART IT, BUT WE WERE NOT ABLE TO GET THE PACIFICA TO SHIFT TO DRIVE OR TO GET THE PARKING BRAKE TO DISENGAGE. SHERIFF'S DEPUTIES WHO CAME AND REMAINED ON SCENE WITH US WHO ARE FAMILIAR WITH CHRYSLER CARS WERE ALSO NOT ABLE TO GET OUR PACIFICA TO MOVE. THANKFULLY THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED IN A SITUATION THAT WAS NOT TERRIBLY BUSY. I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS IF IT HAD OCCURRED ON A BUSY ROAD. THE DOCUMENT FROM THE REPAIR CITES TSB 18-002-19. THE WORK THAT WAS DONE WAS TO REPLACE THE SHIFTER. OUR VAN ONLY HAD 41962 MILES ON IT AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. IF THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE, SOME WORK SHOULD BE DONE TO SET UP SOME SORT OF RECALL THAT WOULD MAKE THIS LESS OF A SAFETY ISSUE. AS A RESULT OF THIS INCIDENT AND A SIMILAR INCIDENT DUE TO A HOOD LATCH SENSOR FAILURE WE NO LONGER FELT SAFE IN THIS VEHICLE. ONCE THE REPAIR WAS COMPLETE, WE TRADED IN THE VAN TO BUY SOMETHING WE FEEL MUCH MORE SAFE IN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE REVERSING, THE VEHICLE SPONTANEOUSLY ACCELERATED AND CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. IN TURN, THE OTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO TWO ADDITIONAL VEHICLES. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,496.
SPORADICALLY WHEN SHIFTING AT AROUND 15 MPH VEHICLE JERKS SO HARD THAT IT FEELS LIKE YOU HAVE GOTTEN HIT FROM BEHIND. THIS HAS HAPPENED HUNDREDS OF TIMES SINCE AROUND 10K MILES AND NOW I AM AT 27K MILES. THE DEALER CANNOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM BUT I FEEL IT IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE. ALL THAT HAS BEEN DONE TO TRY TO FIX THE VEHICLE IS PERFORM THE TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE UPDATE AND IT DID NOTHING. ALSO OPENED A CASE WITH CHRYSLER AND THEY HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT BETWEEN 25 AND 30 MPH, THE FRONT PASSENGER WINDOW WENT DOWN BY ITSELF. ABOUT 4 MINUTES LATER AT THE SAME SPEED THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF COMPLETELY BY ITSELF. I WAS ABLE TO STEER IT INTO A PARKING LOT AND INTO A PARKING SPACE. ALL POWER WAS LOST WHEN IT SHUT DOWN AND EVEN THOUGH IT WAS IN DRIVE WHILE I WAS GLIDING INTO THE PARKING SPACE, IT WAS AS IF THE VEHICLE WAS IN NEUTRAL. NO POWER STEERING, SO VERY HARD TO STEER IT. AFTER THE VEHICLE STOPPED COMPLETELY, THE VEHICLE LOCKED IN PLACE. I PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK, INSTRUCTIONS CAME UP ON THE DASH THAT SAID TO PRESS BRAKE AND START VEHICLE. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART IT AND CONTINUE ON MY DRIVE. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THE FRONT PASSENGER WINDOW HAS GONE DOWN BY ITSELF, BUT IT IS THE FIRST TIME THE VEHICLE HAS COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN.
THE VEHICLE WILL UNDERGO A HARD SHIFT WHEN CHANGING FROM EITHER 1ST OR 2ND GEAR. THIS HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY UNDER NO SPECIFIC CONDITIONS WITH DIFFERENT DRIVING STYLES THE VAN CURRENTLY HAS 31K MILES ON IT WITH NO KNOWN ACCIDENTS OR REPAIRS. THESE SYMPTOMS HAVE OCCURRED DURING CITY AND HIGHWAY DRIVING. THE SHIFT IS HARD ENOUGH TO GIVE THE FEELING THAT THE VAN HAS BEEN REAR-ENDED.
The vehicle had a recall a few years ago to install updates on the PCM computer for a stalling issue but it was never corrected. The vehicle still stalls on turns and on the highway and inside the Chrysler Dealership but the dealer was not able to identify the issue. It seems that the computer tries to correct the issue but it does not work. This is very dangerous when the vehicle stalls on the highway and the car does not start. Eventually it does start after the vehicle stops but my family and I are risking our lives when we drive the vehicle. In addition when going up a steep roadway, the vehicle is not able to drive up the hill easily and I have to pull over, the vehicle computer seems to make adjustments which take 30-60 seconds and then the vehicle is able to drive up the hill. Please contact me to look at the vehicle and identify the issue with it stalling. Thank you.
The steering gets stuck at the 11 o'clock position. The steering wheel does not respond immediately and is putting me in a dangerous situation and causing many close encounters with the vehicle oversteering in the neighboring lanes on the highway putting me and my family at risk for a major car crash. There was a past recall on the steering where the dealer checked the ground wire but no repair was made.
VEHICLE "JERKS" WHEN AUTOMATICALLY SHIFTING. THIS HAPPENS AT SLOW SPEEDS, WHILE IN MOTION, ON CITY STREETS. HAS BEEN TAKEN TO DEALER, AND WAS TOLD NOTHING COULD BE DONE UNLESS THE "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT WAS ON. PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR WILL RETRACT AS IF SOMETHING IS BLOCKING ITS TRACK WHEN THERE IS NOTHING THERE. PAINT IS BUBBLING ON THE HOOD
WE HAVE HAD MULTIPLE PROBLEMS WITH THIS VAN AND IT'S ONLY TWO YEARS OLD AND WHEN I SAY MULTIPLE IT'S SEVEN AND NOW EIGHT WITH THE AIR CONDITIONER BLOWING HOT AIR. THIS SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THIS VAN FROM MY READING. NOW I HAVE BEEN A LOYAL CHRYSLER OWNER AND DODGE PICKUP OWNER SINCE 1990 BUT THIS KIND OF MAKES ME WANT TO SWITCH TO ANOTHER MAKE. A LOYAL OWNER FOR YEARS (XXXX) PARTS OF THIS DOCUMENT HAVE BEEN REDACTED TO PROTECT PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
UPON A START FROM A START, THE CAR BUCKS BETWEEN THE SPEEDS OF 14-17 MPH WHILE ACCELERATING. THE REACTION FROM THE CAR FEELS LIKE THE CAR WAS HIT FROM BEHIND. IT IS RANDOM AND I NOT BEEN ABLE TO CORRELATE THE ACTION WITH ANY PARTICULAR DRIVING CHARACTERISTIC SUCH AS A SLOW OR FAST START. THE CAR HAS ABOUT 30,000 MILES AS OF THIS WRITING AND HAS ABOUT 25,000 AS OF THE DATE OF FIRST OCCURRENCE.
USUALLY WHILE DRIVING SLOW (EX. SLOW ROLL RIGHT HAND TURN, DRIVING THROUGH A PARKING LOT, OR IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC) LETTING OFF OF THE ACCELERATOR AND UPON USING ACCELERATOR TO START SLOW ACCELERATION THE CAR KICKS UPON ACCELERATION. FEELS LIKE SOMEONE HITS YOU FROM BEHIND. ALSO APPEARS AS THOUGH TRANSMISSION IS TRYING TO FIND A GEAR AND FINALLY ENGAGES WITH A KICK. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR THIS REASON MULTIPLE TIMES WITH NO RESOLUTION, STATING THE ISSUE COULD NOT BE REPLICATED. HAVE ALSO OPENED THREE CASES WITH CHRYSLER CARE WHICH WERE CLOSED FOR THE SAME REASON. THE TRANSMISSION KICK OCCURS AT RANDOM TIMES AND CAN'T BE REPLICATED ON-DEMAND.
THIS PROBLEM OCCURS AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK. THIS HAPPENS AS THE VEHICLE IS ACCELERATING AND REACHES BETWEEN 15 TO 18 MPH. THE CAR STOPS SHIFTING AND FEELS LIKE IT IS JUST SHUTTING OFF. I HAVE TO PRESS HARD ON THE GAS PEDAL TO GET THE VEHICLE TO RESPOND. I HAVE ASKED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TWICE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. BOTH TIMES, THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE COMPUTER SCANNER SHOWS NO CONCERNS AND THAT THE TECHNICIAN CANNOT FIND THE PROBLEM AFTER TAKING THE VEHICLE FOR A DRIVE. THE LAST TECHNICIAN INFORMED MY THAT CHRYSLER IS DENYING THE ISSUE BECAUSE THE COMPUTER SCANNERS SHOWS NO ISSUES. HE INFORMED ME THAT CHRYSLER KNOWS ABOUT THE ISSUE AND WILL CONTINUE TO DENY IT UNTIL THE GOVERNMENT MAKES THEM. THE OTHER DAY MY HUSBAND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE STORE AND HE CAME BACK A NERVOUS WRECK. THIS SAME CONCERN HAPPENED TO HIM. HE SAID HE DOESN'T KNOW HOW I DRIVE THIS VEHICLE EVERYDAY. HE THOUGHT THE TRANSMISSION JUST FELL OUT OF THE CAR WHEN IT DIDN'T PROPERLY SHIFT GEARS. I HAVE THREE YOUNG CHILDREN AND HUSBAND THAT RIDE IN THIS VEHICLE WITH ME. I AM TERRIFIED THAT ONE DAY I WILL BE REAR-ENDED BECAUSE OF THE PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION. IF SOMEONE IS FOLLOWING TOO CLOSELY, ONE DAY I WILL BE HIT. I HAVE TALKED TO OTHER FRIENDS WHO HAVE THE 2018 MODEL AND THEY SAID THE SAFETY CONCERN HAS CARRIED ONTO THEIR VEHICLE AND WAS NOT CORRECTED. THIS CONCERN STARTED BEFORE 10,000 MILES AND STILL CONTINUES AT OVER 47,000 MILES.
AS WE ARE DRIVING ALONG, ESPECIALLY AFTER A STOP OR SLOWING DOWN FOR A TURN, THE CAR JERKS SUDDENLY AND THEN ACCELERATES ON ITS OWN. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING MORE AND MORE OFTEN.
WHEN MY PACIFICA IS STATIONARY THE FOLLOWING DANGEROUS ACTION OCCURS EVERY TIME. WHEN THE TRANSMISSION IS PLACED IN PARK AND MY FOOT IS REMOVED FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE CAR WILL ROLL BETWEEN 6 INCHED TO 1O INCHES. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY TWO DIFFERENT CHRYSLER DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENTS, "THAT IS NORMAL". I KNOW THAT THIS IS NOT NORMAL BECAUSE I HAVE TALKED TO AT LEAST THREE OWNERS OF THE SAME MAKE YEAR AND MODEL THAT TELL ME, THEIRS DOES NOT ROLL IN PARK. IN ADDITION I HAVE OWNED AT LEAST 2 DOZEN CARS, TRUCKS, AND RVS AND NONE OF THEM ROLL IN PARK. THE FIRST TIME I WAS STANDING AT THE REAR OF THE CAR TO GET SOMETHING OUT OF THE REAR AND THE CAR HIT ME AND MADE ME LOSE MY BALANCE. I HAVE BEEN PUSHED BY THE PASSENGER DOOR SEVERAL TIMES WHEN I GET OUT FIRST AFTER MY WIFE HAS PUT THE TRANSMISSION IN PARK BUT BEFORE SHE TAKES HER FOOT OFF THE BRAKE. I NOW TRY TO REMEMBER TO STEP AWAY FROM THE CAR AS SOON AS I EXIT. IN THE NEXT STEP IT SAYS WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN. I AM GOING TO USE TODAY'S DATE BECAUSE IT HAPPENS EVERY DAY. IT HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR AT LEAST A YEAR MAYBE LONER. IT HAS BEEN LONG ENOUGH THAT I CAN NO-LONGER REMEMBER THE FIRST INCIDENT.
WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE - CAR UNEXPECTEDLY ACCELERATED! I QUICKLY REACTED AND BROUGHT A CAR TO A COMPLETE STOP. GAS PEDAL BROKE OFF. POLICE AND AUTO-INSURER WERE NOTIFIED. POLICE OFFICER STATED THAT BROKEN GAS PEDAL WHILE DRIVING = SEVERE MANUFACTURING DEFECT; AND THAT I AM VERY LUCKY TO COME OUT ALIVE. NO ONE WANTS TO BOTHER WITH THE REPAIR ' NOW RETURNING THIS DEFECTIVE PRODUCT TO A LOAN-LENDER REQUESTING TERMINATE LEASE DUE TO A CAR DEFECT. LEASING AGENT'NOTIFIED, DOESN'T RESPOND. DEALERSHIP'REFUSED TO ACCEPT, EACH TIME I CALL ' REQUESTS TO DEAL WITH MANUFACTURER. CHRYSLER ' MANUFACTURER-WAS NOTIFIED; CASE WAS OPENED = IN 2 HRS-MATTER ESCALATED TO THE HIGHEST DEPARTMENT SUPPOSEDLY, AND THAT I WOULD BE CONTACTED. MY NUMEROUS AND CONTINUES ATTEMPTS FOR 2 MONTHS = CUSTOMER CARE SAID REPEATEDLY THAT, AS TO MY PARTICULAR CASE, THEY ARE INSTRUCTED TO ONLY TAKE MY MESSAGES; WOULD NOT TRANSFER TO ANY OF THE SUPERVISORS AND DECLINED PROVIDING ANY INFO. I'VE BEEN REPEATEDLY TOLD THAT MY CASE IS WITH A SPECIAL INVESTIGATION UNIT; AS I MUST WAIT FOR THEIR CALL. AT EACH CALL I'M DENIED ANY INFORMATION OR HELP AS TO THAT SPECIAL INVESTIGATION UNIT'S ADDRESS, NAME OF THE DEPARTMENT, LAST NAME OF THE ASSIGNED AGENT, HIS TITLE, PHONE NUMBER, CONTACT INFO, EVERYTHING LITERALLY. LATELY, THEY'VE BEEN SIMPLY HANGING UP ON ME. ONE TIME ONE REP SAID THAT LEGAL DEPARTMENT IS HOLDING THE PROCESS. THEY RECONFIRMED-ALL MY MESSAGES WERE DELIVERED AND ACCEPTED BY MY ASSIGNED CASE MANAGER, WHO CALLED OUR HOME ONCE - MAY 9TH W/OUT LEAVING A MESSAGE. WHEN I CALLED DISPLAYED 586-274-8000 AS CHRYSTLER GRP, IT SAID 'OLD CHRYSLER NON-WORKING NUMBER'. AUTO-INSURER REQUIRES FULL COVERAGE REGARDLESS OF A DEFECT. AUTO-POLICY ADJUSTER ' CAN NOT REPAIR FOR IT'S MANUFACTURING DEFECT. LOAN-LENDER DEMANDS PAYMENTS, KNOWS DEFECT, SAYS 'DOESN'T CARE' AND NOT HELPING TO GET THROUGH TO CHRYSLER.
WE BOUGHT OUR 2017 PACIFICA WITH AROUND 30K MILES ON IT. SHORTLY THEREAFTER, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD OCCASIONALLY SHIFT VERY HARD WHILE AT A SLOW SPEED. IT'S HARD TO PINPOINT, HOWEVER IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN BETWEEN FIRST AND SECOND GEAR. SOMETIMES IT WILL REV LIKE IT HAS BEEN THROWN INTO NEUTRAL, THEN WILL FINALLY HIT A GEAR AND SHIFT HARD WITH A JOLT AND LOUD BANG. IT DID THIS A NUMBER OF TIMES SO WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY CHECKED EVERYTHING OUT AND COULDN'T FIND A PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THE TRANSMISSION ADAPTS TO EACH PERSON, SO DIFFERENT DRIVERS COULD CAUSE THE PROBLEM. HOWEVER, MY WIFE DRIVES THE VAN 99% OF THE TIME AND SHE HAS THE PROBLEM EVEN IF I HAVEN'T DRIVEN IT IN A LONG TIME. THE PROBLEM CANNOT BE REPRODUCED AS IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN RANDOMLY. OUR VAN NOW HAS APPROXIMATELY 50K MILES ON IT AND STILL HAS THE HARD SHIFTING PROBLEM. THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY ENDS AT 60K MILES AND I'M AFRAID ONCE IT'S OUT OF WARRANTY, THE TRANSMISSION WILL TOTALLY GO OUT, COSTING US THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. THIS SAME ISSUE HAS BEEN REPORTED BY MANY OTHER PACIFICA OWNERS.
I WAS IN A ACCIDENT AND THE OTHER DRIVER WAS AT FAULT. MY PASSENGER SIDE GOT HIT GOING 65 AND THE CHEVY TRUCK RAN INTO TO US FAILING TO SLOW DOWN TO THERE LANE ENDING AND HIT MY PASSENGER SIDE AND THE SIDE OF THE VAN NONE OF MY SIDE AIR BAGS WENT OFF AND SHE WAS GOING FULL SPEED WHEN HITTING US. I WAS ALSO SEEN IN THE HOSPITAL DUE TO BEING PREGNANT.

WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A COMPLETE STOP - AFTER CAR IS WARMED UP - AT A LOW SPEED, CAR IS UNABLE TO SHIFT FROM 1ST AND WHEN IT FINALLY DOES IT SHIFTS SO HARD, JARRING THE CAR, THAT IT FEELS LIKE ANOTHER VEHICLE HAS HIT US FROM BEHIND. USUALLY HAPPENS AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 10-20 MPH. HAPPENS A FEW TIMES A WEEK BUT I CANNOT RECREATE IT ON DEMAND - WHICH IS WHAT THE SERVICE DEPT WOULD LIKE. I HAVE 9000 MILES ON MY VAN AND HAS BEEN HAPPENING INTERMITTENTLY SINCE I PURCHASED IT.
I AM CLEARLY HAVING A SHIFTING GEAR ISSUES. I AM GETTING A MAJOR KICK IN THE SHIFTING DURING LOW SPEED, IT HAPPENS BETWEEN 15 AND 18 MPH. THE PROBLEM IS VERY RANDOM. THIS CONDITION MY ONLY HAPPEN ONCE A MONTH OR IT COULD BE SEVERAL TIMES IN A ROW. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR IN SEVERAL TIMES. THEY DID A SOFTWARE TRANSMISSION UPDATE. THIS DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE. I TOOK IT IN AGAIN ON APRIL 3, 2019 AND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT COULD NOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE. I ALSO DRIVE THE CAR THE NEXT DAY WITH THE DEALER'S SERVICE REP. IT DID HAVE A SLIGHT LOOSE OF POWER BETWEEN 1ST AND 2ND GEAR BUT WE COULD NOT GET TO REPEAT THE HARD JERKING CONDITION THAT I WAS COMPLAINING ABOUT. THE DEALER CHECK WITH CHRYSLER AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT DO NOT HAVE A REPAIR SOLUTION AT THIS TIME. THANKS CHRYSLER!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND FELT VERY FIRM. THE CONTACT STATED THAT IT WAS DIFFICULT TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL WHILE ATTEMPTING TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT EXTRA EFFORT WAS REQUIRED TO SLOW DOWN OR STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,000.
WHILE IN MOTION ON CITY STREET THE ENGINE CAUGHT ON FIRE SHORTLY AFTER DEALER SERVICE. *DT CONSUMER'S WIFE NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE ENGINE/HOOD AND THEN FLAMES. CONSUMER STATED CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON SO CONSUMER TOOK THE CAR IN. SERVICE REPORT MENTIONS REPLACING THE FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR AND STEPS TAKEN.*JB
SINCE THE SUMMER OF 2018 WHEN MY CAR REACHED AROUND 15,000 MILES, IT BEGAN HESITATING, LOSING POWER, BEING UNABLE TO ACCELERATE, AND SHIFTING VERY HARD INTERMITTENTLY. IT SLAMS INTO GEAR SO HARD AT TIMES IT FEELS LIKE THE CAR HAS BEEN HIT FROM BEHIND. THE PROBLEM HAPPENS MOST OFTEN WHEN TURNING OUT INTO TRAFFIC FROM A COMPLETE STOP, OR WHEN SLOWING DOWN AS APPROACHING A TURN AND THEN ACCELERATING AFTER THE TURN. THE TRANSMISSION WAS SUPPOSEDLY REPLACED, AND THEN A MONTH LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN, WORSE THAN BEFORE. THE HARD SHIFTING ALSO SOMETIMES HAPPENED WHILE ACCELERATING TO COME UP TO SPEED WHILE DRIVING ON THE THRUWAY. THE CAR HAS ALSO BEGUN REVVING ERRATICALLY. MOST RECENTLY, THE RPMS SHOT UP TO 5000 AND STAYED THERE WHILE DRIVING THROUGH TOWN AT LESS THAN 30 MPH. MOST RECENTLY THE CAR WAS IN THE SHOP FROM 4/1-4/25 AND FROM 5/24 TO PRESENT.
THE SEAT BELT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE IN THE SECOND ROW SEAT FAILS TO LATCH WHEN YOU TRY TO BUCKLE IT. IT WAS WORKING PROPERLY AND HAS SUDDENLY FAILED TO LATCH ON ITS OWN. THE VEHICLE HAS 37K MILES. *DT *AS *DT *TR
TRANSMISSION SHIFTING ISSUE. VEHICLE WAS AT A COMPLETE STOP. WHEN ACCELERATION FROM STOP AND MAKING A RIGHT TURN , THE VEHICLE ACTED LIKE IT SLIPPED OUT OF GEAR AND BACK INTO GEAR. THIS CAUSED A VIOLENT MOTION IN THE CAR. THIS IS A REPEATED ISSUE WITH THIS VAN. WE FEEL THAT THIS COULD LEAD TO A BIGGER ISSUES THAT COULD CAUSE INJURY FROM AN ACCIDENT.
WHILE IN CONTINUOUS ACCELERATION, 13MPH THE TRANSMISSION STRUGGLED TO SHIFT BETWEEN 1ST AND 2ND GEARS. EVENTUALLY, THE CAR THRUST FORWARD AND SHIFTED FORWARD. SAME THING HAPPENS WHEN REDUCING SPEED. IT HAPPENS EVERY DAY AND EVERY TIME I ACCELERATE
TRANSMISSION SHIFTING ISSUES. AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, I ACCELERATED AND AT 36 MPH THE TRANSMISSION ACTED LIKE IT DROPPED OUT AND BACK INTO GEAR MAKING A NOISE. THIS CONTINUED ISSUE HAS CAUSED AN EROSION IN OUR TRUST IN THE VAN TO SAFELY PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION FOR OUR FAMILY.
TRANSMISSION SHIFTING ISSUES. VEHICLE WAS AT A COMPLETE STOP. WAS ACCELERATING FROM A STOP AND ACTED LIKE IT DROPPED OUT OF GEAR AND SLAMMED BACK INTO GEAR VIOLENTLY. THIS HAS CAUSED US TO LOOSE CONFIDENCE AND HAVE SAFETY CONCERNS ABOUT OUR VAN.
VEHICLE WAS AT A COMPLETE STOP. TURNED RIGHT ONTO HIGHWAY 122 AND AT 17 MPH THE VEHICLE HESITATED AND VIOLENTLY SHIFTED HARD INTO GEAR. WE FEEL THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN COMPROMISED BECAUSE OF THE UNPREDICTABILITY OF SHIFTING
I AM CLEARLY HAVING TRANSMISSION ISSUES. AT 45,000 MILES, I HAVE TAKEN THE VAN IN TWICE SO FAR AND NO SOLUTION IS SUCCESSFUL. FIRST SERVICE WAS TO ADDRESS THE TRANSMISSION RECALL WHICH WAS MERELY A SOFTWARE MODIFICATION. THIS DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE. I TOOK IT IN AGAIN AND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT COULD NOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE. I AM GETTING A MAJOR KICK IN THE SHIFTING DURING LOW SPEED MOVEMENT. IT HAPPENS AROUND 15 MPH WHEN ACCELERATION HOLDS STEADY. IT IS A VIOLENT KICK AS IF ANOTHER VEHICLE HAS HIT THE REAR OF OUR VAN. THIS IS NOT OK, NOR DOES IT SEEM HEALTHY FOR THE STATE OF THE REST OF THE MOVING PARTS ASSOCIATED. THE OTHER ISSUE IS WITHIN THE FRONT SUSPENSION. OVER EVEN THE SMALLEST OF BUMP OR UNEVEN ROAD SURFACE, IT FEELS AS IF SOMETHING IS LOOSE. I HAD IT INTO THE SHOP TO CHECK THE STRUTS, JOINTS, ETC, AND THEY ARE OK, BUT SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT AND I BEGIN TO WONDER IF THIS VEHICLE IS SAFE FOR MY WIFE TO DRIVE MY FAMILY AROUND TOWN IN.
MY 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA LOST ALL DASHBOARD POWER YESTERDAY WHICH MEANT NO HEAT, ETC. I WAS GOING TO BRING IT IN TO THE DEALER THIS MORNING BUT THE POWER DOORS WEREN'T WORKING AND IT WOULDN'T START. A FEW MINUTES LATER EVERYTHING ELECTRICAL SHUT DOWN AND NOW IT'S COMPLETELY DEAD. SEEMS THERE ARE MANY CASES OF ISSUES WITH THIS MAKE MODEL YEAR. LUCKILY IT DIED WHEN STATIONARY.
THE FCW DOESN'T SEEM TO WORK ALL THE TIME. THE TWO YEARS THAT I HAVE OWNED IT IT HAS ONLY ACTIVATED MAYBE THREE TIMES. LUCKILY I AVOIDED A CRASH AND THERE WERE NO OBSTACLES ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I HAVE HAD IT IN TWICE FOR RECALLS AND TOLD THEM ABOUT IT, NOTHING. SINCE IT JUST HAPPENED A SECOND TIME I'M TAKING IT TO ANOTHER DEALER I HAVE NO CONFIDENCE IN A SOLUTION.THO. THIS VAN HAS ABOUT 46 MINOR NON SAFETY RELATED PROBLEMS.ALSO. I HAD JUST TURNED OFF THE FREEWAY AND THE BRAKES TOOK THE CRUISE OFF BUT WHEN I APPROACHED THE STOPPED CARS THERE WAS NO BRAKES.AND NO WARNING TO BRAKE.AND NO CAR APPLIED BRAKING AS REQUIRED BY THE FCW SYSTEM.AS IT IS SUPPOSED TO STOP YOU.

I TURNED THE CAR ON AND OFF TWICE BUT IT DIDN'T FIX IT. THEN I TURNED THE HEADLIGHTS OFF AND THE DASH CAME BACK. I TURNED THE HEADLIGHTS ON AND OFF TWICE MORE AND NOTHING CHANGED. WE JUST BOUGHT THIS CAR AND I AM CONCERNED IT'S A LEMON.
I REPORTED THIS EARLIER. BUT AFTER SOME TESTING CHRYSLER SAID THAT THIS PROBLEM HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE, BUT ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS GOOGLE IT AND YOU FIND MANY. I THINK MY BRAKES HAVE FAILED FOUR TIMES SINCE I HAVE OWNED IT.
