I PURCHASED THIS PACIFICA PRE-OWNED IN JULY 2019 WITH 18K+ MILES. FROM DAY ONE I COMPLAINED ABOUT 2 THINGS: 1. ROUGH IDLE (VIBRATION) AND 2. BRIEF LOSS OF POWER ON ACCELERATION AT ABOUT 17-18 MPH (FROM FULL STOP), THEN "LURCHING"/JOLTING INTO GEAR AND ACCELERATING PROPERLY THEREAFTER. PEMBROKE PINES, FL,AUTONATION CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP DEALER FIRST SAID THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEMS...THEN ACKNOWLEDGED THESE ARE ACTUALLY KNOWN COMMON ISSUES BUT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO TO CORRECT THE PROBLEMS. IN RESEARCHING THE PROBLEMS, IT LOOKS LIKE NHTSA ISSUED TSBS FOR BOTH OF PROBLEMS WITH INSTRUCTIONS (TO CORRECT)..PLEASE FORWARD THE TSB NUMBERS AND/OR LINKS THAT I CAN PRINT AND BRING TO AUTONATION SERVICE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF. AFTER PULLING OFF THE FREEWAY AND STOPPING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE ENGINE AND THE VEHICLE OPERATED NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. LEE'S SUMMIT CHRYSLER (1051 SE OLDHAM PKWY, LEES SUMMIT, MO) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
WHILE SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL DOWN, THE CAR BEGAN ROLLING FORWARD. THE CAR CONTINUED TO ROLL UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO PRESS THE BRAKE DOWN TO THE FLOOR, AND IT FINALLY STOPPED ROLLING. THE BRAKE PRESSURE BUILT BACK UP AND THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP, THE BREAK CHECK VALVE WAS REPLACED, BUT THE BRAKES CONTINUED TO MALFUNCTION. THE DEALERSHIP HAS THE VEHICLE STILL, AND HAS NOT REPAIRED THE ISSUE.
2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO DEFECTIVE CRUISE CONTROL FEATURE. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM WAS INOPERABLE. *JS
VERY HARD GEAR SHIFTS AT LOW SPEED - CITY DRIVING. JOLT TO PASSENGERS - FEELS LIKE A LOW SPEED REAR END BUMP. ALSO, VEHICLE TRANSMISSION MAY NOT ENGAGE WHEN ATTEMPTING 3 POINT TURN. UNABLE TO MOVE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NOW ON WITH CODE P0732 - GEAR 2 INCORRECT RATIO.
AUTO STOP/START MALFUNCTION. AFTER STOP AT LIGHT, ENGINE SHUTS OFF BUT WILL NOT RESTART. HAS OCCURRED AT LEAST 10 TIMES. AFTER LATEST FAILURE, PARKED ENGINE SELF STARTED IN GARAGE, CAUSED CO ALARM TO SOUND AT 1 AM.
IN THE FIRST 500 MILES OF DRIVING MY NEW PACIFICA ON AT LEAST 5 OCCASIONS I HAVE USED THE TURN SIGNAL AND WHILE PUSHING THE ARM TO SIGNAL I ALSO MANAGE TO PUSH IT FORWARD. I HAVE DONE THIS DURING THE DAY AND THEN WHEN NIGHT COMES I TURN ON THE HEADLIGHTS TO FIND THAT THEY START WITH HIGH BEAMS. AS I NEVER USE HIGH BEAMS THIS COMES AS A SURPRISE AND I DON'T EVEN THINK TO LOOK TO SEE IF IT HAPPENS UNTIL SOMEONE FLASHES THEIR LIGHTS AT ME. HAVING THE HIGH BEAMS ON UNEXPECTEDLY IS NOT SAFE. IT SHOULD BE MUCH HARDER TO ACCIDENTALLY (OR ON PURPOSE) TURN ON THE HIGH BEAMS. OR THERE SHOULD BE A WAY TO DISABLE THE [XXX] THINGS SO THEY NEVER GO ON. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM BEGAN ACTING ERRATIC. WHEN PARKED, THE CAR WOULD NOT INITIALLY "PUSH TO START" AND WHEN IT DID START IT DISPLAYED ERRORS TO "SERVICE SHIFTER," "SERVICE PARKING BRAKE," "PARKING BREAK UNAVAILABLE." ON THE DRIVE, WHILE IN MOTION, THE AIR CONDITIONING BEGAN TO INCREASE AND DECREASE IN POWER/SPEED WITHOUT DRIVER INPUT. THE VEHICLE THEN TURNED OFF ON THE HIGHWAY. AFTER RESTARTING AND MAKING IT HOME THE CAR HAD DIFFICULTY TURNING ON AGAIN. THE SLIDING DOORS AND LIFT GATE WERE ALSO SAID TO BE "UNAVAILABLE."
ENGINE STALLS AFTER IDLING FOR LONG PERIOD OF TIME. SPENT SEVERAL HOURS DRIVING AT NEIGHBORHOOD SPEEDS TO HOUSE HUNT. THIS WOULD INCLUDE IDLING WITH AIR CONDITIONER GOING FOR SEVERAL MINUTES BEFORE MOVING AGAIN. WHILE BEGINNING TO MOVE AFTER BEING AT IDLE FOR SEVERAL MINUTES THE CAR STALLED AND WOULD NOT RESTART. SHUT OFF CAR FOR A MINUTE COMPLETELY AND TRIED TO RESTART. IT WOULD IDLE BUT WOULD NOT RESPOND TO PUSHING ON THE ACCELERATOR. AFTER TWO MORE MINUTES WITH ALL POWER OFF, THE CAR RESTARTED. WE DROVE A MILE AND THE CAR STALLED AGAIN. WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF SAFELY AND WAIT AGAIN FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES. RESTARTED AND GOT ABOUT A MILE AGAIN BEFORE STALLING. WAITED THREE MINUTES AND RESTARTED AND GOT TWO MILES BEFORE STALLING AGAIN. PULLED OFF WAITED AGAIN, THIS TIME WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME. THANK GOODNESS THE TRAFFIC LIGHTS WERE WITH US. THIS CAR WENT INTO THE DEALER FOR THE SAME REASON LAST YEAR FOR THE COMPUTER RESET/REPROGRAM RECALL. IT HAS HAPPENED TWICE SINCE THEN. THIS SITUATION WOULD BE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE FOR ANY DEALER TO REPLICATE AS IT TAKES SEVERAL HOURS OF DRIVING AND IDLING TO OCCUR. I WILL MENTION THAT I LIVE IN PHOENIX, AZ AND THE TEMPERATURE WAS APX. 110 DEGREES ON THE DAY OF THIS OCCURRENCE ON SATURDAY JULY 20, 2019. THE CAR HAS LESS THAN 7000 MILES AND WAS PURCHASED IN NOVEMBER OF 2017. THIS DOES NOT OCCUR UNDER SIMILAR DRIVING CONDITIONS WHEN THE TEMPERATURE IS BELOW 90 DEGREES. FOR MORE EXPLANATION WHEN THE STALL IS BEING TO OCCUR, THE ACCELERATOR NO LONGER RESPONDS TO THE PUSH ON THE PEDAL. YOU WILL HAVE SEVERAL SECONDS TO PULL OFF THE ROAD BEFORE THE CALL ENGINE STALLS OUT COMPLETELY AND YOU LOSE BRAKES AND STEERING.
1) BRAKED AT A STOP LIGHT CAR STARTED HISSING AND THE BRAKE PUSHED BACK AND THE CAR STARTED TO ROLL FORWARD. SERVICE STATED BRAKE BOOSTER NEEDS REPAIR. 2) TURNING SLOW AS IN BACKING OUT OF PARKING SPOT AND THERE IS A CREAKING SOUND. SERVICE STATES NEEDS WHEEL HUBS NEED REPLACED. CAR IS 67,000 MILES
I HAVE TAKEN THIS VEHICLE IN FOR REPAIRS MULTIPLE TIMES AND IT IS SCHEDULE FOR REPAIRS AGAIN THIS WEEK. THERE HAVE BEEN MULTIPLE ELECTRICAL ISSUES INCLUDING PROBLEMS WITH THE SLIDING DOORS, ANTI LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM HAD TO BE REPLACED, THE BATTERY SYSTEM IS GROUNDING OUT, ISSUES WITH THE RADIO SCREEN, AND NOW THE AUTO ON OFF SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING. IN ADDITION, I HAD TO TAKE THE VEHICLE IN FOR THE BALL JOINTS BOLTS COMING LOOSE THREE TIME AND THEY JUST USED LOCTITE TO MAKE THEM SAY ON . THEY NEVER REALIGNED THE VEHICLE AND NOW I HAVE TO REPLACE TIRES THAT ARE UNSAFE. CHRYSLER SHOULD OWN THIS AND I AM STILL CONVINCED THE BALL JOINTS COULD BE DAMAGED FROM THIS ISSUE AND THEY SHOULD REPLACE THEM. HOWEVER, THE BIGGEST ISSUE IS THE TRANSMISSION. IT WILL BE GOING IN FOR THE FIFTH TIME THIS WEEK FOR THE SAME ISSUE THAT THE DEALER KEEP CLAIMING IS HOW I DRIVE IT. WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A DEAD STOP THE TRANSMISSION HESITATES, WHICH IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. ALSO, WHEN DRIVING AND YOU LET OFF THE ACCELERATOR TO BRAKE IT WILL HAMMER REAL HARD. THIS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND CHRYSLER AND THE DEALER REFUSE TO OWN IT. I FILED MY SECOND COMPLAINT WITH CHRYSLER LAST WEEK. THIS ALL NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED SO I HAVE A SAFE VEHICLE FOR MY FAMILY. I FEEL THEY ARE STALLING SO MY WARRANTY WILL RUN OUT AND I HAVE NO RECOURSE.
AIR BAG SENSOR LIGHT CONTINUED TO COME ON AND THE DEALERSHIP DETERMINED THAT THE AIR BAG SENSOR IN THE PASSENGER SEAT WAS MALFUNCTIONING. THE NOTIFICATION STATED, "YOUR VEHICLE'S AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT RECENTLY INDICATED THE AIR BAG SYSTEM MAY NOT BE WORKING PROPERLY. THE AIR BAGS IN YOUR VEHICLE MIGHT NOT INFLATE IN A COLLISION, OR THEY COULD INFLATE WITHOUT A COLLISION IF YOU DO NOT GET THE REQUIRED SERVICE. HAVE YOUR VEHICLE CHECKED AT YOUR DEALERSHIP." THE REPLACEMENT WOULD COST OVER $300. OUR CHRYSLER PACIFICA IS JUST OUT OF WARRANTY AS IT IS A 2017 WITH 43,000 MILES ON IT, SO THIS SENSOR ISSUE WOULD NOT BE COVERED. THIS SEEMS LIKE A POSSIBLE RECALL CONSIDERING IT HAPPENED IN A VEHICLE ONLY 2.5 YEARS OLD.
PROBLEM FIRST OCCURRED IN JANUARY 2019. CAR RAN FINE THE DAY BEFORE AND STARTED UP FINE, WHILE DRIVING IT WENT INTO LIMP MODE.....TOOK THE CAR TO THE PLACE WE BOUGHT IT FROM AND THEY HAD IT TOWED TO VICTORY CHRYSLER IN ROME NY. THEY DIAGNOSED IT AND SAID IT WAS THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL SYSTEM. IT RAN FINE UP UNTIL A FEW DAYS AGO WHEN MY WIFE TOOK IT TO A STORE AND CAME OUT ABOUT 30 MINUTES LATER AND IT DID NOT START. WE LEFT IT IN THE PARKING LOT OVERNIGHT AND TRIED IT THE NEXT DAY AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP. ON 7/13/19 WE WENT TO OUR SONS BALL GAME AND AFTER THE GAME IT FAILED TO START AGAIN. WE HAD TO GET A RIDE HOME AND HAVE IT TOWED TO OUR HOME THE NEXT DAY BECAUSE ALL OF THE DEALERSHIPS WERE CLOSED ON THE WEEKEND. IT IS NOW SITTING IN OUR DRIVEWAY!!!!! I BOUGHT THIS TO REPLACE MY 120,000 MILE HONDA ODYSSEY AND IT IS NOT RELIABLE. THIS PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE FIXED ASAP AS WE HAVE SMALL CHILDREN AND NEED SOMETHING RELIABLE.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA ON 7/11/2017 THE MINIVAN COMPLETELY SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION , I HAVE TO PUT IT IN PARK AND START THE VEHICLE AGAIN , HARD SHIFTING IS BEEN A COMMON ISSUE ON A DAILY BASIS .

THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 18V049000(ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING), 18V395000(ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, EQUIPMENT), AND 18V332000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL). THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIRS WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIRS AS THE RECALL NOTICE WAS RECEIVED OVER A YEAR AGO. RAY BRANDT CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM FIAT (1660 WESTBANK EXPY, HARVEY, LA 70058, (504) 334-8908) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE BATTERY FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED SEVERAL TIMES AND WAS UNABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CHECK ENGINE AND BRAKE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. ALSO, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER ONCE THE CONTACT RELEASED THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO RESUME NORMAL OPERATION. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC PERFORMED A SECOND DIAGNOSTIC TEST, BUT FOUND NO FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 53,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
HAVE TAKEN VEHICLE INTO DEALER 3 TIMES FOR HARD SHIFTING,CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, AND WHEN SLOWING DOWN AT TIME A HARD JERK ALMOST LIKE SOMEONE RUNNING IN THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE. THEY CLAIMED ONCE IT WAS THAT THE OIL NEEDED CHANGING AND THIS LAST TIME THAT IT HAD THE WRONG OIL AND OIL FILTER ( WHICH THE DEALER HAD DONE). THEY CAN NEVER HAD THE JERKING ISSUE OR THE HARD SHIFTING ISSUE REPEATED. ALSO RECENTLY IT HESITATES LIKE NO POWER WHEN HITTING THE GAS. OVER HAVING IT IN THE SHOP FOR 2 DAYS EACH TIME AND IT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY WITH UNDER 30,000 MILES..
IT STARTED WITH CAR NOT STARTING BATTERY LOW , ONCE IT WOULD START 1 OF THE WINDOWS ROLLS DOWN BY ITS SELF , WHEN DRIVING AND STOPPING AT A STOP LIGHT, IT WOULD STALL HAD TO PUT IT PARK TO GET IT TO START IF LUCKY IT WOULD START RIGHT AWAY . ONCE HAD IT NOT WANT TO START ALL THE LIGHTS IN THE SHIFTER WERE ON ,AND COULD NOT TURN OFF OR ON HAD TO UNPLUG BATTERY TO BE ABLE TO START .THERE WAS A RED DOT ON THE DASH AND IT WAS SAYING IGN STABILITY FAILURE WAS ALSO HAVING TRANSMISSION KICK WITH FORCE LIKE I GOT HIT FROM BEHIND
THE TRANSMISSION GETS STUCK IN GEAR AND HITS A CERTAIN MPH AND THEN DROPS EVEN WHILE PRESSING THE GAS. MOST COMMONLY HAPPENS AT 15MPH AND AROUND 45-50MPH. THEN SUDDENLY IT LURCHES INTO THE NEXT GEAR THROWING THE CAR FORWARDS AND REVVING UP THE MPH. THE DOORS OPEN AND CLOSE RANDOMLY. THE DVD SCREENS DON'T WORK CONSISTENTLY AND THE KEYS HAVE TO BE REGISTERED TO THE CAR FREQUENTLY BC THEY LOSE THEIR CONNECTION.

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND DROVE TO A NEARBY PARKING LOT, BUT THE VEHICLE STALLED AGAIN. THE CONTACT PURCHASED A NEW BATTERY AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AT A SLOW SPEED TO HER RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WARNING MESSAGE ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL INDICATED THAT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WALLACE CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (LOCATED AT 2755 SE FEDERAL HWY, STUART, FL 34994, (772) 220-3600), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED THE PREVIOUS YEAR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19,000.
THE STEERING IS LOOSE. WHILE TURNING THERE IS A KNOCK, TURNING INTO A PARKING SPACE OR BACKING OUT OF A DRIVE WAY, WHILE IN PARK AND TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL. I TOOK MY VAN IN 1 AND A HALF WEEKS AFTER MY WARRANTY EXPIRED AND THEY SAID I NEEDED A NEW RACK AND PINION WHICH WAS GOING TO BE OVER $4000,00! THE DEALERSHIP ADVISED ME TO CALL CHRYSLER TO SEE IF THEY WOULD COVER IT, THEY DID NOT. AFTER FURTHER RESEARCH, IT IS SHOWN THAT IF A RACK AND PINION IS BAD, THE FRONT END COULD FALL APART AT ANY TIME. I ONLY HAVE 36K MILES ON MY VAN THAT IS 2 YEARS OLD. THAT IS RIDICULOUS TO ME, AND THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN. ESPECIALLY IN A FAMILY VEHICLE SUCH AS A VAN.
I TOOK MY CAR 2 TIMES ALREADY TO THE CHRYSLER SERVICE CENTER TO INVESTIGATE STEERING WHEEL PROBLEM, AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY COULDNT FIND OUT ANY PROBLEM. IT FEELS LIKE LOCKING WHEN YOU TURN THE STEERING WHEEL AND TURN TO OTHER WAY. MY 3 BABIES ARE RIDING IN THIS CAR AND I WORRY SO MUCH. IT HAPPENS LOW SPEED AND HIGH SPEED ALSO (30 - 70 MPH)
DURING THE SEVERE BRAKING THE BELTS DID NOT BLOCK. MY SON HIT HIS HEAD VERY HARD IN THE FRONT SEAT. IT WAS VERY DANGEROUS, HE COULD BREAK HIS NECK.
SERVICE SHIFTER WARNING- VEHICLE DECIDES TO GIVE THIS WARNING WHICH CAUSES VAN TO LOCK TRANSMISSION IN PARK AND ENGAGES E-BRAKE. LUCKILY THIS HAS ONLY HAPPENED WHEN VEHICLE IS STATIONARY, BUT HAS OCCURRED ON NEIGHBORHOOD STREET, IN RESTAURANT DRIVE THRU, IN OUR DRIVEWAY AND IN PARKING LOTS. WE CONTINUE TO HAVE THIS ISSUE EVEN AFTER DEALERSHIP REPLACED TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY CONTROL THAT WAS EXPECTED TO FIX THE ONGOING PROBLEM. VAN HAS BEEN TOWED OR OUT OF SERVICE 4 TIMES NOW FOR SAME ISSUE.
PACIFICA TURNED ITSELF OFF WHEN TURNING LEFT SLOWLY ON A HILL. I HAD TO START IT AGAIN. NO WARNING LIGHTS OR OTHER INDICATORS.
FIRST, THE TWO BATTERIES IN THE VEHICLES ARE FAILING PREMATURELY. OURS JUST FAILED ABOUT A WEEK AFTER THE START/STOP SYSTEM LIGHT ACTIVATED ON DASH. OUR VAN WAS PARKED FOR 7 DAYS AT AN AIRPORT AND UPON RETURNING FROM VACATION THE BATTERIES WERE DEAD AND UNABLE TO BE RECHARGED. IRONICALLY, MY SISTER-IN LAW IN CALIFORNIA WHOM WE WERE VISITING, HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIRS WHILE WE WERE THERE. AGAIN, A 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. MY RESEARCH SHOWS THIS IS A REOCCURRING ISSUE ALL ACROSS THE COUNTRY ACCORDING TO GOOGLE RESEARCH AND CARCOMPLAINTS.COM. SOME PEOPLE ARE HAVING THEIR VAN DIE OR STALL WHILE IN MOTION. SECOND, THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE PAINT BUBBLING UP AROUND THE HOOD EDGES. AGAIN, MY RESEARCH ON GOOGLE AND CARCOMPLAINTS.COM REVEALS MANY ARE SUFFERING THIS BUBBLING PAINT ISSUE. LAST, THE TRANSMISSION HAS AN EXTREMELY HARD SHIFT INTERMITTENTLY BETWEEN 10 TO 15 MPH. SO HARD IN FACT, IT FEELS AS IF YOU HAVE BEEN REAR ENDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V348000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); ALTHOUGH, THE FAILUREWAS IDENTICAL. THE APPROXIAMTE FAILURE MIELAGE WAS 22,000.
WHEN THE VAN REACHES SPEEDS BETWEEN 35 - 45 MILES PER HOUR, THE TRANSMISSION JERKS. THIS HAPPENS MOSTLY ON THE HIGHWAY OR STREETS WHERE THE SPEED LIMIT IS GREATER THAN 35 MPH.
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND THE CAR STALL, STOPS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET WHILE IM DRIVING WITH MY CHILDREN. IT SPENT OVER A MONTH AT SOUTH SHORE CHRYSLER IN NY BEFORE THEY FIGURED OUT WHAT WAS WRONG, CLAIMED IT WAS FIXED, AND THE SAME THING STARTED HAPPENING ALL OVER AGAIN- CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND STALLING ON THE ROAD. IT HAS BEEN AT SOUTH SHORE CHRYSLER IN INWOOD FOR ABOUT A MONTH NOW, AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO FIX THIS CAR. IT IS A DANGER TO DRIVE. I KNOW NY HAS LEMON LAWS AND I WANT CHRYSLER TO BUY ME OUT OF THE REMAINING 6 MONTHS OF MY LEASE AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS DANGEROUS AND FAULTY CAR.

WE BOUGHT THE CAR NEW AND THERE HAS BEEN AN ON GOING RANDOM PROBLEM CAR THAT FEELS LIKE A HARD JOLT, LIKE BEING HIT FROM BEHIND, A LOUD CLUNK NOISE AND HESITATION WHEN IT IS SHIFTING GEARS. IT STARTED SHORTLY AFTER 10,000 MILES AND STILL CONTINUES AT 50,000 MILES. IT HAPPENS THE MAJORITY OF THE TIME AT 15MPH BUT HAS HAPPENED AT 35 MPH ALSO. WE HAVE HAD TO BE CHECKED BY THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY CAN NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM ON DEMAND. THEY HAVE UPDATED SOFTWARE AND REPLACED A MODULE BUT IT STILL OCCURS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS WE HAVE NO IDEA WHEN THIS WILL HAPPEN AND COULD EASILY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED FIVE TIMES WITHIN A TWO HOUR TIME PERIOD. WE DROVE STRAIGHT TO THE DEALER AND THEY KEPT THE CAR EIGHT DAYS AND WERE NEVER ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM SO WE WERE TOLD THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. IT IS JUST NOT TRUE. CHRYSLER CARES SAID SINCE THERE IS NOTHING TO FIX THEY CANNOT HELP US. WE HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO GET RID OF THE CAR FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR FAMILY.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,008.
I WAS PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC AND TRIED TO ACCELERATE AND THE VEHICLE WOULDNT UNTIL I HEARD AND FELT AN ENORMOUS BANG FROM THE TRANSMISSION FINALLY SHIFTING. TOOK IT EAST HILLS CHRYSLER AND JEEP DEALER IN LONG ISLAND, NY TWICE. THE FIRST TIME THEY UPDATED THE SOFTWARE THEY SAID. 2ND TIME THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. OFCOURSE CUZ THIS JERKING MOVEMENT HAPPENS. SOMETIMES. IN JUNE 2019 THIS IS HAPPENING A LOT EVERYDAY WITH THE NY CITY TRAFFIC ON THE HIGHWAY. MAY 2019, VAN STALLED WHILE STOPPED AT RED LIGHT. SCREEN SAID 'SHIFT TO PARK TO DRIVE....' HAD TO DO SHIFT AND PRESS THE START BUTTON TWICE TO GET THE CONTROL BACK OF THE VEHICLE. THIS TIME WIFE AND 2 CHILDREN WITH ME. OF COURSE PPL STARTED HONKING AND YELLING CUZ IT'S NYC. ALSO MOST OF THE TIME WHILE FUELING, THE FUEL PUMP STOPS. REALLY SCARED TO DRIVE THIS VAN ANYMORE.

AFTER STOPPING AT A RED LIGHT, ATTEMPTED TO TURN LEFT. AFTER RELEASING BRAKE AND ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE THE ENGINE STALLED, CUT OFF, AND WOULD NOT RESTART FOR SEVERAL MINUTES.
THE VEHICLE HAS MADE TRANSMISSION NOISES FROM 11K MILES ON. THEY IMMEDIATELY REPLACED THE FIRST TRANSMISSION, THEN SECOND ONE BEHAVED THE SAME. THERE IS A CLUNKING NOISE WHEN YOU TOUCH THE GAS. I FILED COMPLAINT, TOOK IT BACK IN NUMEROUS TIMES, THEY CLAIM "IT JUST DOES THAT" NOW THE VEHICLE IS DIFFICULT TO ACCELERATE IN DANGEROUS SITUATIONS, PUSHING DOWN THE GAS, THE CAR DOES NOT SHIFT APPROPRIATELY.
CAR JERKS WHILE DRIVING AND ACCELERATING ON THE ROAD. THE CAR JERKS WHILE IN MOTION CITY AND HIGHWAY DRIVING. CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP ARE UNABLE TO FIX THIS ISSUE, THEY HAVE CHANGED BATTERY AND UPDATED SOFTWARE BUT CAR IS STILL JERKING WHILE IN MOTION.
I'VE ONLY HAD THIS CHRYSLER PACIFICA LIMITED FOR 3 MONTHS, BEFORE BUYING I DIDN'T SEE THAT THE HOOD WAS RUSTING UNDERNEATH THE PAINT. THE PAINT IS BUBBLING UP AT THE END OF THE HOOD. IS THIS HAPPENING WITH OTHER PACIFICAS?
I JUST PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE ON 05/18/2019. TWICE IT HAS STALLED OUT. ONE TIME I WAS AT A STOP LIGHT, THE "START/STOP" SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON AND IT COMPLETELY DIED. THE SECOND TIME WE WHERE ACCELERATING AT AN INCLINE AND IT STARTED TO JERK REALLY BAD AS IF IT WAS MISSING THE GEARS. THEN THE SAME SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON AND IT STALLED AGAIN. WE PULLED OVER AND TURNED IT OFF FOR A WHILE. ONCE WE STARTED IT OPERATED OKAY AGAIN. I HAVE BEEN DOING SOME RESEARCH AND IT SOUNDS LIKE THIS IS HAPPENING TO MANY OF THESE VEHICLE. MY BIGGEST CONCERN IS THAT IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THIS VEHICLE HAS EVERYTHING I WAS LOOKING FOR BUT I AM NOW TERRIFIED TO DRIVE IT WITH MY FAMILY. IT HAS BEEN TAKEN IN TO BE SERVICED BUT BECAUSE THERE ARE NO ERROR CODES STORED I AM BEING TOLD THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO UNLESS IT HAPPENS AGAIN. MY VAN HAS HAD THIS ISSUE SINCE AROUND 29,000 MILES AND I AM CURRENTLY AROUND 53,000. I HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP OVER 15 TIMES AND STILL HAVE NO SOLUTION BECAUSE THE PROBLEM DOESN'T SHOW ON A COMPUTER, NOR DOES IT HAPPEN WHEN A SERVICE TECH IS WITH ME. WHEN THE VAN IS SHIFTING BETWEEN 1ST AND 2ND THERE IS A JOLT LIKE BEING HIT FROM BEHIND AND A NOISE. I HAVE THIS ON VIDEO 3 SEPARATE TIMES AND THE SERVICE ADVISOR TELLS ME THAT IT IS NORMAL FOR A 9 SPEED TRANSMISSION TO DO THIS. THERE IS NO WAY THIS IS NORMAL, OTHERS HAVE BEEN WITH ME AND HAVE THOUGHT I HAVE SLAMMED ON BRAKES BECAUSE THE JOLT IS SO STRONG. THIS HAPPENS IN PARKING LOTS, TURNS AND FROM A COMPLETE STOP TO START. IT ALWAYS HAPPENS AT 14-15 MPH AND IS EXTREMELY SCARY AT TIMES AND THERE IS NO SOLUTION FROM ANYONE.
WHILE DRIVING AROUND 30 MPH THE CAR ON ITS OWN SLIPPED OUT OF THE DRIVE GEAR AND THE DASHBOARD CHIMED AND REPORTED THE CAR WAS IN REVERSE, THE GEAR KNOB INDICATED THE SAME HOWEVER THE CAR WAS NOT IN REVERSE. AS I PROCEEDED TO DRIVE IN TRAFFIC, I SWITCHED THE GEAR KNOB TO DRIVE AND ACCELERATED. THE CAR WAS SLUGGISH AND THE RPM WERE NOT REGISTERING. I DROVE HOME (5 MILES) SLOWLY BECAUSE THE CAR WAS SLUGGISH SEEMED TO ONLY BE IN FIRST GEAR. CAR WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY ARE UNABLE TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD.
WHEN THE CAR IS EITHER STOPPED, IN PARK, OR SHUT OFF AND YOU OPEN EITHER SECOND ROW POWER SLIDING DOOR IT WILL OPEN 99% OF THE WAY AND THEN CLOSE ON ITS OWN. THE SAME IS TRUE IF YOU ARE TRYING TO CLOSE THE DOOR, IT WILL CLOSE ALMOST ALL THE WAY AND THEN JUST REOPEN. SOMETIMES IT CAN TAKE NUMEROUS TRIES BEFORE THE DOOR OPENS OR CLOSES COMPLETELY. THERE ARE NO OBSTRUCTIONS, OR ANYTHING AT ALL IN THE WAY THAT WOULD CAUSE THIS TO HAPPEN. I PICKED A DATE OF JUNE 3RD BECAUSE YOU ASKED FOR A SPECIFIC DATE, BUT THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME.
Our van shifts really hard at low speeds (around 12-15mph). This happens randomly. We’ve taken to our dealership and they’ve replaced the electronic shift module (I think that’s what they called it) but it’s doing it again. This has been going on for over 3 years!
AUTO START/STOP WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON PANEL. NO REASON FOR THIS TO TURN ON AS CAR WAS IN MOTION AND OPTION HAD BEEN TURNED OFF.
THE BRAKE PEDAL BECOMES HARD AND A LOUD HISSING AIR SOUND COMES FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL. PEDAL ALSO PUMPS ON ITS OWN WHILE AT A STANDSTILL. BRAKE BOOSTER IS LEAKING VACUUM. THIS OCCURS UNDER ALL DRIVING CONDITIONS AND TIMES OF DAY.
THE CAR HAS ROUGH SHIFTING
THE GEAR SHIFTS VERY HARD WHEN GOING AT SLOW SPEEDS. IT IS SO ROUGH THAT ONE TRIES TO AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS WHEN DRIVING, THUS INCREASING THE RISK OF AN ACCIDENT. IRRESPECTIVE OF THE RISK, IT SEEMS THAT THE VEHICLE'S POWER TRAIN IS FAULTY AND IT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. *TR
