TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO TURN ON AN INCLINE, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,000.
STOPPED VEHICLE AND VAN AUTOMATICALLY WENT INTO PARK. OCCASIONALLY VEHICLE WILL NOT START WHEN BRAKE/BUTTON PRESSED. RADIO GOES ON BY ITSELF FREQUENTLY WHILE DRIVING. WHILE DRIVING, PARKING ASSIST WENT OFF BY ITSELF.
THE CAR MISSES DIFFERENT GEARS AS YOU ACCELERATE. FEELS AS THOUGH THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING UPON ACCELERATION. THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION WITH ACCELERATION WHILE THESE ISSUES HAPPEN. IT WILL HAPPEN ON CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAYS.
THE PEDDLE MAKES AN AIR RELEASE NOISE, AND WILL FORCE MY FOOT UP PREVENTING ME FROM BREAKING. I COULD BE SITTING AT A LIGHT AND THE VEHICLE WILL START DRIVING FORWARD WITH MY FOOT STILL ON THE PEDDLE MAKING AN AIR PRESSURE NOISE. THIS HAPPENS EVERYWHERE I DRIVE AND HAVE TO STOP, IF I HAVE TO STOP IMMEDIATELY I HAVE TO USE MY WHOLE BODY TO PUSH THE PEDDLE DOWN MAKING A POPPING NOISE SOMETIMES HAVING TO RELEASE THE PEDDLE AND TRY BREAKING AGAIN. I'VE ALMOST HIT SEVERAL VEHICLES DUE TO NO CONTROL OF STOPPING.
WHEN STARTING THE CAR THE ENGINE DOESN'T ALWAYS TURN OVER. WHEN THIS HAPPENS ALL THE SENSORS GO DOWN AND IT TELLS ME I AM NOT IN PARK. THE CAR WON'T TURN OFF OR ON AND MUST TRY IT MANY TIMES BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE WITH HAPPEN. IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN ON A COOLER MORNING
SINCE PURCHASING OUR PACIFICA, WE HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT ISSUES THAT SEEM TO NOT BE GETTING RESOLVED WITH CHRYSLER BESIDES CONTINUOUSLY IN THE SHOP. WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE BRAND NEW SO WE WOULD NOT HAVE THE HASSLE OF AN UNRELIABLE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAS LEFT US STRANDED WITH LESS THAN 30,000 MILES ON IT. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE, THE BACK HATCH CAME OPEN. AFTER PULLING OVER TO FIX THIS, AS I HAD KIDS IN THE CAR, THE VEHICLE KEPT OPENING. THE DEALERSHIP EXPLAINED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL AND FIXED THE ISSUE.CHRYSLER WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO WORK WITH THROUGH THE FIRST ISSUE. THE CASE MANAGER SAID THAT I WAS EXAGGERATED OVER THE ISSUES.WE THEN HAD THE AUTOMATIC START/STOP GO OUT, THIS CAUSED OUR DISPLAY SCREEN TO FREEZE UP AS WELL TO WHERE WE COULD NOT USE OUR CONTROLS. AT THIS TIME WE AGAIN BEGIN EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH THE BACK HATCH AGAIN. UPON CONTACTING CHRYSLER A NEW CASE NUMBER WAS GIVEN AND WE WERE ONCE AGAIN SENT TO THE DEALERSHIP. SHORTLY AFTER BEING IN THE SHOP, I DROPPED MY CHILD OFF AT SOCCER PRACTICE. WHEN I RETURNED TO MY VEHICLE THE WHOLE SYSTEM SHUT DOWN AND DOORS OPENED AND WOULD NOT CLOSE ALL ELECTRICAL WAS SHUT DOWN. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED AND WAS IN SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOR A WEEK. WE WERE LEFT WITH ONE VEHICLE TRYING TO HAUL OUR 5 CHILDREN AROUND WITH WORK AS WELL. RECENTLY THE 9-1-1 IS STUCK ON AND FREEZES THE DISPLAY SCREEN, ALONG WITH THE DRIVER PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR OPENING WITHOUT COMMAND OF THE BUTTON. THE VEHICLE IS SCHEDULED TO BE SERVICED....AGAIN. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE TO THE POINT WE DO NOT FEEL SAFE HAULING OUR FAMILY BUT FINANCIALLY ARE UNABLE TO TRADE IN, LEAVING US STUCK WITH A HEFTY CAR PAYMENT AND UNRELIABLE VEHICLE. WE WOULD NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE TRADING THIS CAR IN FOR ANOTHER FAMILY AS WELL.
AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY MY PASSENGER WINDOW SUDDENLY ROLLED DOWN THEN MY DASHBOARD LIGHTS FLICKED ON AND OFF MULTIPLE TIMES. THE BATTERY LIGHT AND NO TRACTION LIGHT BLINKED, TOO. AS I WENT TO PULL OVER TO STOP, THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF ONCE I BRAKED. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART AND CONTINUE DRIVING AT THAT TIME. I WAS GOING ROUGHLY 65 MPH WHEN THE INITIAL PROBLEM BEGAN.
THE AUXILIARY BATTERY FAILED WHICH CAUSED MY START/STOP SYSTEM TO DISABLE WHICH IN TURN CAUSED MY ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL DISABLE ALSO. I HAVE HAD THE CAR JUST OVER A YEAR WITH 55,000 MILES ON IT.
PURCHASED VEHICLE NEW DEC 2, 2016 AND IT HAD PROBLEMS WITH JERKING WHEN SHIFTING AND SOMETIMES NOT WANTING TO SPEED UP. COMPLAINED TO DEALERSHIP BUT THEY FOUND NOTHING ON COMPUTER READOUT BUT DID MENTION THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAD TO ADJUST TO MY DRIVING. THIS CONTINUED AND I CONTINUED TO MENTION IT WHENEVER TOOK VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICING OR RECALLS. ON RECALL WAS TO REPLACE A CONTROL MODULE OF SOME SORT------NOW AFTER THIS MODULE WAS CHANGED THE JERKING WAS LESS FREQUENT AND SO I LIVED WITH IT. NOW SEPT 21, 2019, I HAD JUST STARTED CAR AND WAS STARTED DOWN A SIDE STREET IN GRANT PARK, IL. WHEN CAR STARTED JERKING REAL BAD AND ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, A RED WARNING LIGHT CAME ON, AND A ALARM LIKE THE "SEAT BELT NOT HOOKEDUP" CAME ON. I QUICKLY STOPPED TURNED CAR OFF AND WAITED ABOUT 5 MINUTES. STARTED CAR BACK UP, RED WARNING LIGHT DID NOT COME BACK ON, THE WARNING ALARM DID NOT COME ON, BUT THE ENGINE LIT STAYED ON. SEPT 23, 2019 TOOK CAR TO DEALER WHERE SERVICE MANAGER PUT IT ON THE COMPUTER BUT IT DID NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEM MESSAGES AND THE ENGINE LIGHT ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL TURN OFF. SERVICE MANAGER SAID HE WOULD HAVE ME BRING IT BACK IN LATER THIS WEEK SO IT CAN BE LOOKED AT. SERVICE MANAGER WHO I KNOW WELL DID MENTIONED AS WE WERE TALKING THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS TRANSMISSION LIKE I HAVE. I HAVE OVER 45000 MILES ON THIS VEHICLE AND SHOULD THIS TRANSMISSION LATER BE DEEMED BAD, I DON'T FEEL I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY TO GET IT FIXED.
I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND WORK UP ON SEPTEMBER 19, 2019. I WAS REPORTING ROUGH TRANSMISSION WHEN SWITCHING GEARS BUT OTHER THAN THAT EVERYTHING WAS FINE. THEY RAN UPDATES ON MY CRUISE CONTROL AND THE LIKE AND OFF WE WENT. THE FOLLOWING DAY I WAS DRIVING IN A FLAT AREA OUT OF STATE WITH MY CRUISE CONTROL SET AT 70. I WAS PULLED OVER FOR A SPEEDING TICKET WHERE THE DEPUTY REPORTED I WAS GOING NOT 70 BUT 84 MPH!! IN THE COURSE OF THE 13 HOUR DRIVE WE NOTICED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS STILL ROUGH AND THE ENGINE WAS REVVING FOR NO APPARENT REASON. UPON RETURNING HOME, ON SEPTEMBER 24TH, I WAS TAKING MY DAUGHTER TO A DOCTORS APPOINTMENT WHERE I WAS AGAIN STOPPED FOR SPEEDING. THE TROOPER SAID I WAS GOING 55 IN A 45 WHEN I AGAIN HAD MY CRUISE CONTROL SET. I AM NOW THINKING THE FIRST TICKET WAS A WARNING AND NOT A FLUKE SO I PARKED MY VAN UNTIL MY HUSBAND WAS ABLE TO FOLLOW ME HOME TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING WAS WORKING PROPERLY. ON THE DRIVE HOME, AGAIN A LEVEL SURFACE, I HAD THE CRUISE CONTROL SET AND NOTICED THE VAN HAD ACCELERATED TO 55 MPH! I HAVE CAUGHT IT ON ONE OTHER OCCASION AT 10-12 MPH OVER WHERE THE CRUISE WAS SET AND MANAGED TO GET A PICTURE OF THE DASH WERE IT CAN CLEARLY BE SEEN THE ENGINE IS REVVING AND THE CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT MATCH THE SPEEDOMETER.
WHILE DRIVING, HAVING REDUCED SPEED FROM 70 MPH TO 45 MPH, EXPERIENCED ENGINE SHUT DOWN. NO POWER - COASTING TO STOP, NO POWER STEERING. WARNING ON DASH SAID, "PUT SHIFTER IN P TO START." WAS ABLE TO SAFELY PULL OFF ROAD AND RESTART. CONTINUED ON TRIP AND SAME SITUATION HAPPENED ANOTHER 10-15 TIMES. SOMETIMES THERE WAS NO SHOULDER AND I HAD TO COME TO A FULL STOP IN TRAFFIC TO RESTART THE VEHICLE.
THE VEHICLE WILL STALL AND THEN HARD SHIFT FROM FIRST TO SECOND GEAR. WE INITIALLY NOTICED THE HARD SHIFTING WHEN WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE BUT THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE THE AUTO STOP/START SYSTEM. WE DIDN'T THINK MUCH OF IT UNTIL IT STARTED SHIFTING HARDER WHEN WE WOULD STOP OR BE DRIVING. THIS, AT TIMES, CAUSED ISSUES WHEN TURNING OR ACCELERATING TO GO THROUGH AN INTERSECTION. THE VEHICLE STALLING CAUSES A SAFETY HAZARD AND PRESENTS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR AN ACCIDENT TO OCCUR DUE TO THE DELAYED RESPONSE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CARS FOLLOWING BEHIND COULD POTENTIALLY REAR END THE VEHICLE. THE HARD-SHIFTING FEELS LIKE SOMEONE HIT YOU FROM BEHIND AND CAUSES BACK AND NECK PAIN FROM THE SUDDEN JERKING MOVEMENT. THIS VEHICLE HAS ALSO COMPLETELY STOPPED WHEN BEING DRIVEN CAUSING A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD. IT STARTED UP AGAIN IMMEDIATELY AFTER THAT INCIDENT ONLY TO NOT START AT ALL A FEW MONTHS LATER. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT TROUBLE FOR US FROM THE VERY BEGINNING. WE STAYED OPTIMISTIC THAT THE RECALLS WOULD FIX THE ISSUES. THEY HAVEN'T. IT'S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR HEAVEN FORBID DIES BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. WE HAVE HAD 8+ SERVICE VISITS FOR THIS VAN. AT ONE TIME IT WAS COMPLETELY INOPERABLE AND HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. WE ARE FRUSTRATED WITH CHRYSLER AND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT ANCIRA CHRYSLER, JEEP AND DODGE IN SAN ANTONIO, TX.
AFTER SEVERAL STOPS FOR SHOPPING THE VAN WOULD CRANK OVER BUT NOT START, REPEATEDLY. AFTER 15 MINUTES OF TRYING AND A 5 MINUTE COOLDOWN THE VAN STARTED.
VEHICLE WILL CONSTANTLY HARD SHIFT. EITHER FROM A COMPLETE STOP, WHERE IT WILL THEN HARD SHIFT AND JERK YOU FORWARD. SOMETIMES MULTIPLE TIMES IN A ROW. HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCED PRESSING ON THE GAS PEDAL IN A INTERSECTION AND NOTHING. WILL NOT GO AND THEN ALL THE SUDDEN DOES A HARD SHIFT AND WILL ACCELERATE. THIS HAS BEEN ON CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAY. MANY TIMES IT WILL BE FROM A COMPLETE STOP. HAVE TAKEN IT INTO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE 1 YEAR AGO. FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. NEVER TAKEN IT IN FOR ANY OTHER ISSUE.
WHILE LEAVING THE NEIGHBORHOOD, CAME TO A STOP, AUTO STOP/START ENGAGED, RELEASED BRAKE TO ACCELERATE, VEHICLE DIED. MOVED SHIFTER TO PARK AND ATTEMPTED TO RESTART. ODD STUTTERING SOUND LIKE THE ENGINE CAN'T TURN OVER. REPEATED SEVERAL TIMES WITHOUT SUCCESS, THEN CALLED FOR A TOW TO DEALER. RADIO STILL WORKED AND BOTH BATTERIES HAD BEEN REPLACED ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO. DEALER SAYS ABS ERROR LIGHT IS ON BUT VEHICLE STARTED. AWAITING DIAGNOSIS.
ON SEPTEMBER 16, 2019 NEAR 10 AM MY 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA WAS PARKED IN FAMILY GARAGE SINCE THE 13TH WITHOUT BEING DRIVEN. THE KEY FOB DIDN'T WORK AND NO POWER WAS AVAILABLE TO START OR ACCESSORIES. AN ATTEMPT WAS MADE TO JUMP IT WITH CABLES FROM MY WIFE'S CAR AND IT WOULD NOT START. TOW WAS REQUEST TO NEAR BY DODGE DEALER JACK PHELAN IN COUNTRYSIDE, ILL. EARLY AFTERNOON TWO DIFFERENT TOW TRUCK COMPANIES WERE SUMMONED AND THEY BOTH WERE UNSUCCESSFUL IN JUMPING IT.AFTER TWO DAYS THEY STATED THE BATTERIES WERE DEFECTIVE AND BOTH NEEDED REPLACEMENT. STILL UNDER WARRANTY OTHERWISE COST WAS GIVEN AS OVER $600.00.
THE BATTERY WON'T STAY CHARGED. I HAVE REPLACE MY BATTERY LAST YEAR
VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH WHEN IT SPONTANEOUSLY BECAME EXTREMELY LOWER ON POWER AND LOST ALL POWER STEERING ALONG WITH NUMEROUS ERROR MESSAGES AND DASH LIGHTS BEING ILLUMINATED. THE VAN WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN INTO A PARKING LOT WHERE IT WAS RESTARTED AND DRIVEN THROUGH THE LOT. AFTER APPROXIMATELY 30 SECONDS THE VAN HAD THE EXACT SAME ISSUE BUT THIS TIME WAS NOT ABLE TO BE RESTARTED. MARTINS CHRYSLER OF UNTION GROVE WISCONSIN CAME AND PICKED UP THE VEHICLE. THE OWNER OF MARTINS SAID THE VEHICLE STARTED BUT THEN HE EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE WE HAD. ASIDE FROM SOME START/STOP AND ELECTRICAL/CHARGING SYSTEM ERROR MESSAGES PREVIOUSLY THERE WAS NO WARNING AT THE TIME OF THIS INCIDENT. WE'VE HAD THE VAN IN BEFORE FOR THESE ERROR MESSAGES BUT THE DEALER NEVER FOUND THE CAUSE OF THE ISSUE.
DRIVING VEHICLE AND IT JUST TURNS OFF. I AM 80 AND IT TURNED OFF IN TRAFFIC CIRCLE. IT HAS HAPPENED TWICE AND IS EXACTLY DESCRIBED IN JUNE RECALL. VEHICLE HAS NO OPEN RECALLS AND HAS HAPPENED TWICE IN LAST WEEK.

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT AN ABNORMAL SOUND CAME FROM THE STEERING WHEEL AFTER GOING OVER A BUMP IN THE ROADWAY. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. ADDITIONALLY, THE ALARM ACTIVATED INDEPENDENTLY ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NORMANDIN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM FIAT DEALER (900 CAPITOL EXPRESSWAY AUTO MALL, SAN JOSE, CA 95136) AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000.
PASSENGER LEFT DOOR HAS SEVERE GRINDING SOUND, ALSO FAILS TO CLOSE SOMETIMES. RIGHT HAND PASSENGER DOOR HINGE WAS REPLACED IN SEPTEMBER 2019
MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING MY 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA ON 9/9/2019 AROUND AN S TURN WHEN SUDDENLY THE VAN LOST ITS POWER STEERING. HE COULD NOT CONTROL THE VEHICLE THAT WAS TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH. HE COULDN'T BREAK AND THE VAN HIT A CURB WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO BLOW OUT BOTH DRIVER SIDE TIRES AND RIP THE DRIVERS FRONT STRUT APART. IN JUNE OF 2019 AFTER RECEIVING THE NOTICE OF RECALL V53, I TOOK MY VAN TO THE DEALERSHIP TO FIX THAT RECALL AND ANY OTHER RECALLS IT MAY HAVE. I WAITED APPROXIMATELY AND 1 HOUR AND 30 MINUTES WHILE MY VEHICLE WAS BEING FIXED. I WAS TOLD THAT ALL WERE COMPLETED AND WAS HANDED THE KEYS. RIGHT AFTER THE ACCIDENT I RECEIVED AN EMAIL ABOUT THE RECALL. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THEY DIDN'T FIX RECALL NUMBER V53. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER ABOUT THE ACCIDENT AND THEY SENT AN INVESTIGATOR OUT TO INSPECT THE VAN. IN RETURN I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM FCA SAYING THAT THEY COULDN'T FIND ANY ISSUES. I FORMALLY BELIEVE A MALFUNCTION HAPPENED AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT. OVER THE COURSE OF SEVERAL MONTHS SINCE OWNING THE VEHICLE IT HAD SHOWED SIGNS OF AN EXISTING PROBLEM WHICH WE MADE COMPLAINTS AT THE DEALERSHIP AND NOTHING WAS EVER FOUND. WHEN YOU COME TO A STOP OR SLOW DOWN TO COME TO A STOP/YIELD AND ACCELERATE THE VAN WOULD BUCK AND OR JERK AS IF IT WERE TO LOOSE POWER AND SHUT OFF. SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE VAN WHETHER IT'S RELATED TO RECALL V53 OR AN UN-IDENTIFIED PROBLEM.
FIRST TIME APEX AUGUST 6, 2019 - STARTED CAR IN DRIVEWAY. PROCEEDED TO DRIVE OUT OF DRIVEWAY AND ENGINE SHUT OFF. SECOND TIME WAS SEPTEMBER 7, 2019. IN A PARKING LOT AT STORE STARTED CAR. PROCEEDED OUT OF PARKING LOT ONTO A SMALL STREET TO A STOP SIGN AT END OF STREET. PULLED OUT OF STREET ONTO 4 LANE HIGHWAY WHEN ENGINE SHUT OFF. WERE ABLE TO JUST MAKE IT TO THE CENTER TURNING LANE TO STOP AND RESTART CAR. CAR WAS PURCHASED AT A CHRYSLER DEALER USED ON JULY 5, 2019. NO NOTICE WAS GIVEN TO US REGARDING ISSUES WITH THIS MAKE/MODEL.
I WAS TURNING AT AN INTERSECTION AND MY PACIFICA STALLED AND WOULD NOT GO UNTIL I SLAMMED ON THE GAS BECAUSE A CAR WAS COMING AND I ALMOST GOT HIT. IT'S VERY UNSAFE FOR MY KIDS TO BE IN THE VAN IF IT'S GOING TO STALL WHEN TURNING.
BACK UP CAMERA HAS START TO MALFUNCTION. MORE TIMES THAN NOT WHEN YOU GO INTO REVERSE THE CAMERA EITHER COMES UP BLACK, BLACK WITH WARNING LINES, BLUE SCREEN, FUZZY PICTURES, GREAT PICTURES THEN YOU MOVE AND IT FREEZES. THIS IS BECOMING RIDICULOUS WITH A PRETTY MUCH BRAND NEW VEHICLE. NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AND FIXED PROPERLY.
I WAS HIT HEAD-ON BY A DRIVER TRAVELLING IN THE OPPOSITE LANE WHO WENT OVER A MEDIAN ON A 45 MPH CITY STREET. I HAD A SPLIT SECOND TO START BRAKING BUT THE OTHER DRIVER DID NOT EVEN ATTEMPT TO STOP. NONE OF THE AIRBAGS IN THE VAN DEPLOYED. I WAS INJURED AND THE VAN HAD EXTENSIVE FRONT END DAMAGE.
WITH JUST OVER 45,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER, THE VAN DEVELOPED A LEAK IN THE VACUUM BOOSTER. THIS INITIALLY HAPPENED WHILE STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT. THE VAN WOULD CONTINUE TO ROLL FORWARD UNTIL WE PUT IT IN NEUTRAL. WHEN WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS, THEY VERIFIED THAT IT WAS A LEAK IN THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND THAT IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY WITH THE MILES WE HAD ON THE VAN. THEY ALSO VERIFIED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THIS.
VEHICLE STALLING DUE TO DEAD BATTERY ACCORDING TO DEALERSHIP. VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING. I WAS ABLE TO START IT AGAIN AFTER COMING TO A STOP, BUT IT TOOK 3 TIMES PUSHING THE START BUTTON BEFORE IT TURNED OVER. HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP TO RUN DIAGNOSTIC AND THEY CONCLUDED THE BATTERY WAS DEAD AND NO OTHER MALFUNCTION WAS REPORTED.
FOR THE PAST MONTH OR SO WHEN THE VEHICLE IS GOING IN CURVES THE STEERING WHEEL IS STICKING. IT'S ALMOST LIKE THERE IS NO POWER STEERING. I FEEL LIKE I COULD WRECK MY VEHICLE BECAUSE IT IS VERY HARD TO CONTROL DUE TO THE STEERING. THIS IS OCCURRING WHEN THE VAN IS IN MOTION, ACCELERATING, WHEN I TRY TO TURN THE WHEEL BACK STRAIGHT

THE DEALER TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE, BUT WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,500.
OUR PACIFICA HAS A PROBLEM WHEN STARTING FROM A COMPLETE STOP, ACCELERATING, USUALLY AROUND A TURN. EXACTLY AT 15-18 MPH (FIRST TO SECOND OR SECOND TO THIRD GEARS), THE VAN WILL HAVE A VERY LARGE JERK, THE GAS PEDAL MUST BE RELEASED, LOSING ACCELERATION. ONCE THIS HAS PASSED, YOU CAN PROCEED WITH ACCELERATING AS NORMAL. THE JOLT FROM THE SHIFT FEELS LIKE YOU HAVE BEEN REAR ENDED, CAUSING SLIGHT WHIPLASH IF YOU ARE NOT READY FOR IT. THIS PROBLEM USUALLY COME IN SPURTS, NOT HAPPENING FOR SEVERAL WEEKS, THEN 1 OR 2 A DAY FOR A FEW DAYS. THE DEALER REVIEWED THE PROBLEM AND "WAS NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE" SO NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE ACCORDING TO THEM. THIS ISSUE HAS OCCURRED SINCE ABOUT 10,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER.

THE BRAKES ROUTINELY ARE SLOW OR STIFF TO ENGAGE. WHILE DRIVING, THE BRAKE IS APPLIED AND THE VEHICLE STARTS SLOWING DOWN; THEN IT SEEMS LIKE THE BRAKES QUIT WORKING. IT IS VERY UNSETTLING. I PRESSED DOWN HARD(ER) ON THE BRAKES AND THEY ENGAGED. MULTIPLE TIMES THIS HAS CAUSED ME TO ALMOST CRASH. ON ONE INSTANCE (WHILE IN MOTION), I WAS UNABLE TO STOP AT A RED LIGHT -- ROLLING STRAIGHT THROUGH. ON ANOTHER OCCASION, I WAS ABLE TO SLOW AT A STOP SIGN, BUT NOT COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE DEALER HAD THE VEHICLE FOR THREE WEEKS AND INITIALLY STATED THAT IT WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE BRAKE BOOSTER, BUT LATER STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE, SO THEY RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO US WITHOUT ANY REPAIR.
THE CAR SIMPLYWONT START. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON, SERVICE ABS, SERVICE ESC, PARKING BRAKE UNAVAILABLE, POWER STEERING UNAVAILABLE. THE POWER DOORS DONT WORK. SHIFTER IS LOCKEDAND THE AUTO PARK BRAKE WAS LOCKED. THE CAR WONT EVEN SHIFT TO NEUTRAL SO IT CAN BE TOWED.
I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO A GARAGE TO HAVE A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT LOOKED AT. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT IT IS THE ACTIVE GRILL SHUTTER SWITCH. THEY STATED THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO ORDER THE PART AND DO SOME REWIRING. IF THERE IS NO RECALL, WHY WOULD REWIRING OF ANYTHING BE NEED TO REPAIR THE ISSUE, AND NOT JUST REPLACING THE PART.
WE TOOK A 7 HR TRIP IN OUR 2017 PACIFICA ON SAT BACK HOME FROM VACATION. THE NEXT DAY WE DROVE TO A LOCAL MOVIE THEATER. WE OBSERVED SEVERAL WARNING LIGHTS APPEAR FOR NO REASON. THE NEXT DAY THE VAN WOULD NOT START. BOTH BATTERIES ARE DEAD. WE USED A BATTERY CHARGE TO CHARGE MAIN BATTERY BUT IT WOULD ONLY CHARGE TO 11,6 AND WILL NOT START THE VAN. WE TRIED JUMPER CABLES. NOTHING WILL START THE VAN. WHEN ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE CAME TO TOW THE VAN TO THE SHOP THE MANUAL PARK RELEASE DID NOT WORK AND THE REAR TIRES WERE LOCKED. SOMETHING IS SERIOUSLY DRAINING THE BATTERY AS SOON AS YOU TAKE IT OFF THE BATTERY CHARGER. SOMETHING IN THE COMPUTER IS SUCKING ALL THE LIFE FROM THE BATTERY. VERY FRUSTRATING SINCE I JUST TOOK THE VAN INTO THE SHOP A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO TO GET THE FOURTH RECALL ISSUE FIXED.
WHILE IN CRUISE CONTROL I HAD TO ACCELERATE AND THE TRANSMISSION SLAMMED INTO HIGHER GEAR; FELT LIKE TRANSMISSION COMING OUT OF VEHICLE. ALSO SLAMS WHEN AT A STOP AND PEDAL PUSHED DOWN FAST. ALSO WHILE MOVING AND PEDAL PUSHED DOWN FAST AS WHEN NEEDED TO PASS A VEHICLE. SLAMMING CAN OCCUR WHETHER ON CITY STREETS AT SLOWER SPEEDS OR HIGHWAYS AT HIGHER SPEEDS. WHEN I GO TO A DEALER AND ASK ABOUT RECALLS OR REPORTS OF THE SAME ISSUES THEY SAY NO AND MOVE ON WITH NO FURTHER DISCUSSION. 3 YEAR/36000 MILES WARRANTY COVERS ONLY THROUGH THE EXPECTED/PREDICTED FACTORY LIFE OF THE PARTS. AFTERWARDS, THEY KNOW PARTS WILL FAIL AND CONSUMERS MUST PAY FOR AN EXTENDED WARRANTY, WHICH HAS A DEDUCTIBLE, WHEN PARTS FAIL IF THEY DON'T WANT TO PAY FOR ALL THE REPAIR DUE TO FACTORY FAILURES OF NOT BUILDING A QUALITY ORIENTED VEHICLE, THAT SHOULD LAST AT LEAST 200,00 MILES WITHOUT FAILURES. MY CURRENT MILEAGE IS 38974.

DRIVING MULTIPLE OCCURRENCES OF BRIEF LOSS OF POWER STEERING AT SPEED IN MOTION. HESITATION, DIFFICULT, HARD TO TURN. GOOGLED THIS ISSUE AN OBSERVED A FCA RECALL. I CALLED FCA CUSTOMER SERVICES AND THEY STATED MY VEHICLE IS NOT IN THE RECALL BY VIN. HOWEVER IT IS AN EARLY 2017 MODEL.. I AM FILING THIS AS MY WIFE REPORTED THIS TO ME FOR THE FIRST TIME THAT IT HAD OCCURRED TO HER RECENTLY WHEN DRIVING. AFTER SHE TOLD ME 3 MILES LATER WHILE I WAS DRIVING AT SPEED OFT 45MPH IN A WIDE SWEEPING TURN THE STEERING RESISTED INPUT ON ME TO RETURN TO CENTER AND CAUGHT ME BY SURPRISE FOR A BRIEF SECOND THEN RESUMED BACK TO NORMAL. AT THAT MOMENT I MYSELF HAD JUST WHAT SHE TOLD ME HAPPENED TO HER MULTIPLE TIMES RECENTLY WHEN DRIVING. WE NO LONGER WANT TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AND DEEM IT A SAFETY RISK DUE TO THIS STEERING ISSUE.
WHEN PARKED, THE CAR WOULD NOT INITIALLY "PUSH TO START" AND WHEN IT DID START IT DISPLAYED ERRORS TO "SERVICE SHIFTER, " "SERVICE PARKING BRAKE, " "PARKING BREAK UNAVAILABLE." VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN GARAGE.
WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A COMPLETE STOP OR IN BETWEEN 5-10 MPH THERE IS NO FORWARD MOVEMENT BUT AS THE ACCELERATOR IS PUSHED THE RPM'S GO UP UNTIL THERE IS A REAR IMPACT TYPE FEELING THAT OCCURS AND THE TRANSMISSION ENGAGES AND AT THIS POINT THE VEHICLE CONTINUES FORWARD. IN THE INSTANCES WHERE IT HAPPENS AT THE 5-10 MPH AREA, IT TYPICALLY HAPPENS WHEN YOU LET OFF THE ACCELERATOR AND 'COAST' THEN PUSH THE ACCELERATOR TO GO CONTINUE FORWARD. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN 2017 AND WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THIS BEHAVIOR FROM THE VEHICLE IS A 'CHARACTERISTIC' OF THE VAN. I HAVE FILED NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS WITH CHRYSLER AND EVERYTIME I TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIPS I COMPLAINT ABOUT THIS AS WELL. TRANSMISSIONS JERKS HARD WHEN YOU GO FROM A LOW SPEED TO A HIGHER SPEED. PLUS IT WON'T RESPND WHEN YOU PRESS ON THE GAS. TRIED CROSSING AN INTERSECTION AND GOT STUCK IN THE MIDDLE FOR A FEW SECONDS WITH CARA COMING AT ME BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT GO. WAS PRESSING ON THE GAS BUT NO RESPONSE. NOW THE PAINT IS AL BUBBLING UP AROUND THE EDGE OF MY HOOD. THE TRANSMISSION ISSUES HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE I GOT THE CAR. CHRYSLER WILL DO NOTHING. THE PAINT STARTED A COUPLE MONTHS AGO.
VAN WOULD NOT PICK UP SPEED IN HIGHWAY. PULLED OFF AT NEXT EXIT AND WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PULL OFF TO THE SIDE THE ENGINE STALLED AND SHUT OFF. THE SHUT OFF WAS ON A ROAD. HAD ONE FAILED START THE. WE WERE ABLE TO DRIVE OFF.
MY 22 MONTH OLD WENT OUT THE FRONT DOOR WHILE AT A FAMILY PARTY. HE WENT TO OUR PARKED CAR, PUSHED THE BUTTON ON THE CHRYSLER HANDLE, WENT TO THE FRONT SEAT, LOCKED THE CAR, AND TURN THE CAR IN THE ACC POSITION WHICH BLEW OUT HOT AIR. THE CAR WAS ABLE TO TURN ON BECAUSE THE KEYS WERE LEFT IN THE CAR. HE TRIED CLIMBING IN THE BACK TO PUSH THE BUTTON TO OPEN THE DOOR AGAIN BUT BECAUSE THE CAR WAS LOCKED IT WOULDN'T OPEN. ALL HE HAD TO DO TO GET IN THE CAR WAS PUSH A BUTTON BUT ONCE THE CAR WAS LOCKED IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE FOR HIM TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET OUT. HAVING SUCH AN EASY WAY FOR A VAN DOOR TO SLIDE OPEN IS A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD FOR SMALL CHILDREN. I HAVE A VIDEO OF HOW EASY IT WAS FOR HIM TO GET INTO THE CAR AS WELL.
AT LEAST 6 TIMES IN THE PAST 8 MONTHS THE VEHICLE HAS FAILED TO START. IT BEHAVES AS IF BOTH BATTERIES ARE DEAD. AFTER USING A TRICKLE CHARGER I CAN GET THE CAR TO START. IT'S BEEN RETURNED TO THE DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES. EACH TIME THEY REPORT THAT THEY CHARGED THE BATTERIES AND EVERYTHING IS FINE AND CHRYSLER WILL NOT LET THEM REPLACE EITHER BATTERY SINCE "NO ERROR CODE IS REPORTED". SUPPOSEDLY THEY CHECKED THE CHARGING SYSTEM AS WELL AS LOOKED FOR A PARASITIC DRAW AND FOUND NOTHING. WE ARE AFRAID TO USE THE VEHICLE LEST WE GET STUCK FAR FROM HOME. IN DESPERATION I REPLACED THE MAIN BATTERY AT MY EXPENSE. IN ALL CASES THE PROBLEM OCCURRED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN OUR DRIVE. SOME CASES OVERNIGHT AND OTHERS AFTER RETURNING FROM AN ERRAND RUN.

AFTER THE FIRST SHUT OFF I TOOK IT TO DEALER FOR THIS ISSUE, BUT THEY COULD NOT ABLE TO RECREATE THE "SHUT OFF" , THEY SAID THEY FIXED SOMETHING FOR NOT TO SHUT OFF, BUT RECENTLY ON 7/29/19 AND 7/31/19 IT WAS AGAIN ASKED TO MOVE SHIFT TO P AND SHUT OFF, EVEN I TRIED TO RESTART THE ENGINE, IT DIDN'T AFTER 3 TO 4 TIMES TRY IT WAS STARTED AGAIN. I WAS MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WITH SPEED LIMIT 40MPH, LUCKY NONE OF THE VEHICLE WAS NOT CLOSE. I SEE MANY CASES LIKE THIS WITH 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA, SO I REQUEST CHRYSLER PACIFICA TO FIX THIS ISSUE ASAP BY RECALLING THE AFFECTED VEHICLES.
